#Leo constantly just goes off and does his own thing

One of the earliest examples of Leo’s “I’ll do my own thing to accomplish our goal without discussing it with my team first” is in episode one. It’s super, super quick, and ultimately inconsequential, but it subtly sets up a great precedent that I think is very interesting.
When the boys need to grab the medallion from Splinter without Splinter noticing, Raph, Mikey, and Donnie huddle together with Raph taking the lead in trying to devise a plan to get the mystic device. Meanwhile, Leo slinks away and grabs the device by clocking the situation (by knowing his father well enough to predict his actions - something he does with each family member multiple times in the series) and making a move on his own.
It works out perfectly fine, and is ultimately the best move, and it’s honestly okay that he didn’t consult everyone for something so small when it’s such a non issue to get it, but it nicely sets up how this tends to go in the series, including how it goes in the movie.
To be honest episode one is actually really good at setting up a lot of things for each character in the long run, this is just one example that caught my attention, as small and unassuming as it is.
#rottmnt#rottmnt leo#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#im just ranting at this point feel free to ignore me I’m tired lol#anyway#Leo constantly just goes off and does his own thing#and yeah honestly his own thing often works??? but he alienates his brothers/team in the process#BUT also this isn’t necessarily a one way street#when Leo DOES try to consult his brothers or give his thoughts on matters he’s not really taken seriously#best example here is bug busters where he CONSTANTLY makes his worries and suspicions known only to have them ignored#so it’s almost understandable that he doesn’t often open up about his thought process when it’s easier to just do it#than to try and fail to justify it#after all it almost always works out for him when he does so why not?#and then the movie happens#and that line of thinking doesn’t quite hold up does it?#BUT ON ANOTHER NOTE#like I said episode one is super good at setting characters up#from showing off Donnie’s preference for tech vs magic/mystic#from showing Mikey’s innate talent for mysticism#from showing Raph’s anxieties and how easily they can stack up#there’s more but I’d have to do a closer deep dive on the ep and man am I tired#so off the head rambles it is for now#sorry everyone for my constant spam of Too Many Words into things that are prob Not That Deep#it’s honestly just fun haha#EDIT: bc I saw someone mention it! yeah all the boys have communication issues through the series and it’s super interesting and realistic#Leo in particular stands out to me here because his communication issues are a constant theme that pop up much more often#but each of them experiences this in some form

TMNT 2012 Yandere Headcanons
A/N, not important: Feel free to add or disagree with any of these. Any criticism is welcome, constructive or not. This is supposed to be a gender neutral reader, so if I screwed up somewhere, please tell me.

Summary: My take on TMNT 2012 as yanderes.
Leonardo:
He’s a hero, he wants to be your savior. Leo wants you to be safe by his side and to feel like you can depend on him for everything, even if he knows he’s taking it a bit too far. He’s willing to do anything for you, as long as you stay with him and love him.
Despite being aware of his faults, he’s still possessive and stubborn. Leo’s priority is your safety, which can cause problems in the small time before he kidnaps you. He’s constantly checking up on you, bringing you gifts, and trying to convince you to come stay at the lair on your own.
Is the first to kidnap you. Being the leader, he can’t drop his team to go get you at a moment's notice like his brothers can. He wants you safe, and in his mind, the safest place for you is the lair, or by his side. It’ll take a week from the first time you turn down staying with them for him to move you in forcefully.
Leo’s strict with his rules. He likes order and discipline, which makes him have a firmer hand when it comes to following his rules. While he tries to remain patient with you, he’s quick to punish any misbehavior to kill it out as quick as he can.
His punishment’s mostly include being tied or loss of food/entertainment instead of harsher ones like having your bones broken. He doesn’t want to hurt you badly unless he needs to. He sees you as something he was destined to care for, so if he feels the need to hurt you, you likely really outraged him(although if he hurts you on accident and feels you deserved it, he won’t apologize much).
When mad, he rarely goes into a fit or has an outburst. He’ll stew for a bit and leave you locked in the room before returning later to deal out whatever punishment he came up with in the time gone.
Feels slightly bad if you cry during a punishment, even if he knows it’s one that doesn’t hurt much. It doesn’t get him to lessen or cut the punishment short however. He’ll just pay more attention to you once it’s over to ‘make up for it’.
He’ll drop little judgements about your friends and family as he’s near you, trying to sow discourse so you’re more likely to be near him. He’s constantly vying for your attention, so separating you from your loved ones makes it much easier.
He likes to do things for you alone. If you escape, he won’t tell his family and will just go off to find you by himself. He also likes to keep you in his room or by his side at all times. He likes having you to himself, his own little darling to take care of.
He wants to make you proud of him and to enjoy being by his side, so he’ll shower you in little gifts or trinkets as a way to buy your affection.
He’s more quiet, so he likes to force you to be next to him instead of talking. He finds you relaxing and is comforted by your presence, even if you despise him. He’ll often pick you up and bring you to watch his shows as a way to hang out, holding you close and not letting you leave.
He’s very controlling and tends to nitpick everything you do, loudly telling you’re doing something wrong if he notices it. He thinks his way is the best way, and will shut down any arguments you have about your treatment or captivity. You’re his, and he knows best.
Donatello:
He’s the last to jump to kidnapping, mostly because he wants everything to be perfect for you before he does. He pines hard, constantly trying to get your attention and keep it. He’ll make so many plans surrounding you, it’s insane. He sets up cameras around and in your apartment to make sure he’ll always have an eye on you in case something happens to you. You’re his world, and he has to have you. Everything about you is perfect in his eyes. He just wants to bring you home with him and preserve that perfectivity forever.
He watches you for months, and will usually have a small square in the corner of his laptop that’s a camera of you whenever he’s working. He catalogs everything about you, admiring your every move.
He’ll go off on his own to visit you a lot, trying to impress you with his ninjitsu or smarts. He gets upset when you blow him off, his mood instantly turning sour and he tries to convince you to stay with him or refuses to leave. He’s overbearing and puts down your friends, making snarky remarks about whomever is taking up your time. Whenever he finally does leave, he makes a note of the friend and tries to think of ways to get rid of their part in your life.
Once you’re kidnapped, he keeps you drugged for a while, not risking the expected erratic behavior. He doesn’t want you to have any chances to try anything drastic. He’ll research everything about the drug he’s giving you, taking note of all possible side effects and making sure you have no allergies to the medication. He doesn’t want you to suffer while under his care, but the only way he knows how to protect you when you’re in such a delicate state is by keeping you doped up and oblivious.
When he starts to wean you off the pills, he can get annoyed with your attitude fairly quickly. He wants instant gratification, and gets frustrated knowing you’re not in love with him like he is you. He’ll put rules in place and snap at you when you mess up. He takes his punishments slowly, laying out all the consequences for each action when you first get there. He plans to adhere to them, not wanting to screw up his own rules or bend any for you when he knows you can be perfect.
Donnie can easily start to steam if you push his buttons, whether by constantly arguing or by fighting something he deems necessary for you. He’ll yell at you and throw things around, but he won’t hurt you in these moments if he can help it. He’ll usually just steam off after tying you up or drugging you silly, not wanting to deal with you when you’re being ‘pushy’.
He’s not the neediest when it comes to affection, usually only touching you to try and comfort you instead of himself. However, when he gets sleepy or just finished a big project he’s proud of, he’ll pull you close and force you to sit with him for a while. Sometimes he’ll have you sit in his lap while he’s working on something non-dangerous just to bond, but he’s usually too focused to want you so near in those moments.
Raphael:
He uses you like a drug, in a sense. Raph’s known for his bad temper and explosive personality, but before he had you, he took it out on petty thieves and Kraang. But once he found you, he realized he felt calmer just by being near you. He always wants to be by your side, milking off your personality in all the worst ways. Once he realizes you’re a fix to his temper, he’ll kidnap you.
You’re like his own precious gemstone, a one in a million find. He truly believes you’re his soulmate and you’re both meant for each other, and will get into a huge argument with you if you try to disagree.
Bulldozes over everything you say, and is really pushy when he wants to be near you. While his temper is more quelled near you, it’s not too hard to ignite it again, and denying him his ‘rightful time with you’ is a really quick way to enrage him. He’s more likely to go after your friends if you cite plans with them than to fight with you, but he’ll still be sour for a while afterwards.
Raph hates knowing how exposed you are in the world. You, the one thing able to calm him down, could be hurt at any moment by anything in the world. It boils his blood to know you might be in danger, and he acts like a protective wall when near you. He makes himself your own personal bodyguard, not even backing down when it starts to get suffocating. If he’s on a mission with his brothers and suspects you’re upset or hurt, he’ll drop everything to come to your side. He will absolutely go ballistic if he finds anyone hurt you.
Even if you’re usually able to keep him more mellow, his anger can quickly flare up when you start to act up. Whether it's refusing to hang out with him or fighting him after he kidnaps you, he’s quick to try and correct your behavior with threats and intimidation. He’ll accidentally elevate to more physical violence on accident, his anger taking over when you refuse to listen to his reason.
His quick fuse can get you hurt, and he’ll just try and justify it with a quick apology and the excuse that you weren’t able to calm him down. He blames it on you every time, citing your own failures when it comes to his anger.
He’s almost always touching you when he’s near you. A hand on your shoulder or waist, or tight around your wrist, he’s always holding on. He likes the security you give him, and you tend to just make him more tender in the first place. He likes running his hands through your hair or just slumping over you and pinning you down loosely with his weight. He gets huffy if you try to get away, tightening his grip and holding you firm.
If you try to escape and fail, he’ll rub it in your face. He’ll brag about how good he is at keeping you safe after he brings you back and punishes you however he sees fit for the transgression. He wants you to feel weak so you won’t try again.
Michelangelo:
Mikey is manipulative to a fault. With his big eyes and unassuming nature, he’ll just slowly pretend everything is fine as he goes on. He uses the fact he’s never had many human friends to his advantage, weaponizing his supposed ignorance to make you feel guilty for pushing him away when he gets too much.
He’s quick to fall into his own head when he’s with you, just clingy bliss as he fully believes you’re just as infatuated with him as he is. He ignores most of your protests or brushes them off, making small jokes about the situation instead of listening.
Most patient of his brothers for most things, but will get upset if you don't listen to him. He’s a hypocrite in this sense, and always demands your full attention. He wants to be heard by you, and gets upset if you push back the way he does to you. He’ll start to whine before getting angry and storming off, leaving you alone for hours or days depending on his mood.
Is able to predict almost everything you do despite being completely unpredictable himself. He tries to convince his uncanny way of knowing what you’re doing or planning as a sign you’re both meant for each other.
Is constantly on you, whether he’s draped in your lap or or over your shoulder, or just fully laying on you. He finds you comfortable and gets upset when you try to push him away. He loves you so much, can’t you just let him hold you for a while?
Mikey’s also the most likely to have you out of his room, letting you follow him around the entire time he’s home with you. If he’s training in the dojo, he’ll make you sit in there so you can watch him. He wants to be praised and loved by you, so by showing off while he spars his brothers or practices his nunchaku, he feels it gives you more opportunities to compliment him.
Showers you in compliments and praise, to the point where it’s more than annoying. Every couple of minutes he’s loudly exclaiming how much he loves you, not letting you get a word in and trampling over any protests you may have.
He’ll likely hurt you in an accident, usually right before he storms off after you make him mad. He doesn’t use as many physical punishments for the sole reason he doesn’t want to be near you when he’s upset with you, but he may throw you off him before he leaves. Mikey will ignore the injuries he gives you, usually pointing out new bruises on your skin and being surprised he caused them. His main way to ‘fix’ it is by jokingly apologizing and kissing them and with a smile on his face, refusing to acknowledge any wrongdoing. He pretends the small gesture blows everything over, and gets upset when you try to push back still.
Often ignores his brothers for you. He’ll sneak away and just disappear with you for hours, only to be in his room trapping you with him as he avoids responsibility. He has you now, and as far as he’s concerned, you’re the only part of New York that would need to be saved.

One of my favorite aspects of this movie was how, specifically when it came to Leo and Raph, we got to see glimpses of their previous incarnations leak through but it stayed entirely unique to the Rise characterization.
A major change with Raph in Rise, besides him being the oldest and the leader, was that his temper wasn’t his major character trait or a flaw he had to deal with. He still had it, yes, and we saw it on occasion (mainly for comedy) but Rise Raph never had the same temper problems previous iterations had. So for this movie, to have moments where Raph is genuinely angry, to the point of physical violence and frustration against Leo, that is so his classic temper flaring up. And as mentioned before, they kept it unique to this version of the character.
There isn’t a power struggle. Raph isn’t angry he’s lost his leadership role, in fact, he still carries a huge burden on himself that he has to protect his family, and that’s what drives his frustration with how Leo handles his leadership. Raph always knew taking care of his brothers was top priority in any mission. So for him to see Leo constantly leaving him and his brothers behind for his solo stunts (get to this later), Raph gets angry, because as a leader you’re supposed to listen to your unit, to protect your unit.
Raph is angry because Leo is careless.
A major thing said to Leo is “this isn’t about you” because being leader is so much more than you having authority and the ability to handle missions your own way. It’s having the trust of your teammates and you need to trust them. You need to listen to them, they are there to handle things you can’t. That’s what it means to be a team. It’s not just about getting the job done, it’s about getting the job done and making sure everyone is okay in the end. You all take care of each other.
It takes a bit for this to stick into Leo’s head because his ego gets in the way, a lot, but once Raph stays behind and gets taken by the Krang (bc Leo pulled a stunt), Mikey and Donnie are trapped (also bc Leo pulled a stunt), and Casey straight up tells Leo his brothers all die in the future he came from (Future boy got tired of Leo pulling stunts lol), Leo begins to realize he can’t do this by himself. He can’t brute force results without considering everyone else’s opinions and options. It’s not about him. It’s about his brothers.
That speech he gives, asking his family how they can formulate a plan using every piece of information the team has to do it, and he uses that to separate them all into the parts of the mission they’ll excel in, that was peak Leonardo as the leader. This is how Leonardo does things.
Bringing focus back to Leo pulling stunts, specifically solo stunts, wow is that also peak Leo in general. As I mentioned with Raph, these are the parts of Leo’s story and characterization where we got to see those glimpses of previous incarnations of Leo in Rise Leo. It’s practically a joke in the fandom about how often any Leo goes off on solo missions and everything, but it would be foolish to act like that isn’t a part of Leo’s character.
We see this on full display throughout the whole movie. But, just like with Raph, it stays unique to Rise Leo.
From the beginning Leo is pulling solo stunts because he gets results, he has style, and while it’s never stated out loud, it’s because he’s the leader. After all, why would he be made leader if he can’t handle his own missions? The irony is that’s the problem. As stated several times, Leo needed to understand that in order to be leader, he still needs his brothers with him, it’s not just about him and what he can do.
Usually when Leo pulls his solo stunts, it’s with the intention of protecting his brothers and he’s willing to risk his life in certain circumstances because they’re safe and he knows they can handle things.
In the first half of the movie, Leo keeps going on his own because he gets results, and in his mind that means his way is the right way. He didn’t think about any consequences regarding himself or his brothers. He just had extreme tunnel-vision about getting the job done.
However, at the end of the film, when Leo makes the decision to stay behind in the other dimension, even begging Casey to close the portal, he does this for two main things; 1) as he himself says, it’s their only option. And 2) he knew his brothers would still fight for him. It wasn’t a stunt he pulled just to show off. It was a decision he made, he evaluated, and he knew what the consequences were, he knew he’d be trapped, but that wasn’t what mattered. As long as he had the Krang locked away, as long as Earth was safe, as long as his brothers and family were safe, that was all that was important.
Leo may have still pulled a solo mission stunt, but, for the first time, it wasn’t about him and he understood that.
Even while he’s getting his ass kicked by Krang, he only smiles and holds onto his family photo because he knows they’re safe, he knows they’re still fighting, and they’re not going to truly give up on him.
For the first time as leader, Leonardo had the faith and trust in his team that they always had for him.
And I feel like that’s something we might’ve seen before

Why I Love 2012 Raphael
A TMNT 2012 Character Appreciation/Character Analysis Post
Tumblr media
If you know me or follow me here or on Instagram then you know that my favorite Ninja Turtle is Raphael. More specifically, Raphael from the TMNT 2012 series. Nowadays, this version of Raph gets a lot of unfair hate from fans (new and old), which I find to be ridiculous. So I decided to show this turtle in red some love and express my reasons as to why I love 2012 Raphael.
To start, I wanna give some love and appreciation to Raphael’s voice actor, Sean Astin. His voice was perfect for the role. I feel so many other Raphael voices try too hard to make him sound manly and more of a giant muscular brute, often forgetting that he is just a teenage boy. Sean does a good job making Raph sound tough when needed, but still making him sound like he is a teenager. He does a great job balancing Raph’s rude attitude but also his gentle and sweet side as well. Also he nailed those girlish screams! XD I feel voice actors nowadays don’t get a lot of recognition, so I wanted to show my appreciation here.
The biggest thing I love about Raphael is his development in the show. I’d argue he had the most/best character development among the four Turtles. We all know how he is in the beginning of the series, being rude, hotheaded, constantly picking fights with Leo and other characters. The show makes it obvious that Raph in S1-2 is scared of his own emotions and feelings, the only time he truly opens up and expresses himself is when he talks to his pet turtle, Spike. The best way I can describe Raph’s character is that he is the “tough guy with a heart of gold” trope. I believe one of the show’s producers, Ciro Neili, even confirmed that was their intention when creating Raph’s character for the show. Raph is a brute, a hothead, but deep down he's a big softie. A lot of Raphael haters seem to forget or ignore that fact about his character. Yes, he is mostly known throughout the fandom to be the hothead, he is the muscle of the group, but he is also the protector. Raph knows that, so if he comes off as weak, then he loses that title. Deep down Raph, and the people around him, know that he is a big softy who loves and cares for others, but he keeps up this tough guy persona in order to protect and seem strong for the ones he loves most.
As the series goes on Raph learns to open up to others, he grows to respect Leo as a leader and seems to control his temper way more by Season 5. On rewatch I notice in S4-5, Raph only ever gets mad for valid/understandable reasons, mainly when someone is hurting/threatening his loved ones. How did this happen? I believe Raph’s development started when he lost Spike in season 2.
Tumblr media
Slash and Destroy is one of my favorite Raphael focused episodes and I will stand by and say that this episode was the beginning of Raph’s character development. In the episode, Raph’s pet Spike gets mutated and becomes Slash, targeting and attacking Raph’s brothers. As a reminder, up to this episode, the only person Raph could express his true feelings to was Spike. Everytime Raph ranted negatively about his brothers, Spike was there to hear it, causing him to have a negative view on Leo, Donnie and Mikey. Slash shows pure hatred for the brothers, especially Leo. After brutally attacking Leo, Slash smiles and says “Been looking forward to that for a long time.” The mutagen warped Slash’s brain, making him go crazy and viciously attack Raph’s brothers because like Raph said earlier in the episode, he doesn’t need them. Raph gets a visual representation of his words and negative thoughts towards his brothers in action through Slash. Slash’s purpose in this episode is to represent all of Raph’s anger and frustration he’s had for his brothers over the years based on what he told Spike. By the end of the episode, Splinter comforts Raph and suggests that he should “focus on the friends he has in the present''. For all of Raph’s life, he trusted and relied only on Spike, but Spike is now gone, so Splinter indirectly advises his son that it is time to trust and rely on others, to not bottle up his emotions, advice that Raph takes.
Tumblr media
As the show goes on, Raph slowly progresses, opening up more to others, which will eventually lead to him having two great things in his life come season 4 (but we’ll talk about them later).
Casey was another part of Raph’s development that some fans don’t notice. Donnie makes a comment that Casey being around is like having two Raphaels. While Raph and Casey become best friends because of their similar personalities, Casey is also a reflection of Raph. When around Casey, Raph has to be the level headed one, the responsible one. He criticizes Casey for not being stealthy like a ninja in the S2 episode Newtralized and not planning ahead in the fight (remind you of anyone? *cough* Leo *cough*). When they first meet, Raph gives Casey the same exact advice his father gave him earlier in the episode that “anger is a dangerous alley”. Casey is a more reckless version of Raph, something Raph unknowingly sees and tries to help and protect, he has to be the mature one in their dynamic, opposite to when he’s teamed up with Leo and gets to be the rebel again. It’s like he’s getting a taste of his own medicine.
Not to mention, Raph met Casey after he lost Spike, having a new friend he can rely on. Later on in the episode Newtralized, after meeting Slash, Casey says, “Is that your old pet turtle? The one who got mutated?”. This little piece of dialogue is so important to Raph’s character but it sadly goes over a lot of people’s heads. It indirectly tells us that off screen, Raph has opened up to Casey and told him about a traumatic and hard time in his life. Progress that we will continue to see as the show goes on.
Tumblr media
Season 3 Raph at the Farmhouse was the peak of his character development! Raphael took charge in that arc. He became the temporary leader of the group when Leo was out of commission due to his injury. After losing their father (reminder they thought Splinter was dead by this point), being chased out of their home and the city, and losing to one of their greatest enemies, Raph stepped up. He took care of everyone. He made sure that Donnie, Mikey and even April kept up with their ninja training, he was the one who is always prepared during an attack or new threat (ex: when he and the others were trapped in the geyser in the episode Eyes of The Chimera and he was the only one with a grappling hook to help them get out, criticizing his brothers for not being true ninjas and how they should be prepared for anything). April even states that for months, Raph stayed by Leo’s side when he was in his coma, refusing to eat or sleep, and when Leo did wake up, Raph was the first to help him get back on his feet, taking him out on walks to help get his strength back.
Tumblr media
Raph not only was there for Leo, but he was there for Donnie. After Donnie gets heartbroken when April rejects his music box gift in the episode A Foot Too Big, Mikey is sympathetic, but Raph hits Donnie with a much needed reality check. He tells him bluntly “It's never gonna happen, Donnie. We're mutants. She's a girl. You're a giant talking turtle. The sooner you get used to it, the better.” Even with that though, Raph acknowledges his brother’s broken heart and quickly tries to cheer Donnie up and get his mind off April with some training. Then later in the episode, when Donnie expresses how uncomfortable he is with Big Foot’s romantic gestures, Raph once again nails it perfectly by telling him, “Now you know how April feels.” Some may say what Raph said was mean and how he should’ve put him down more gently, but in truth this was something Donnie needed to hear and no one else was gonna do it any time soon! Someone had to open his eyes to the situation, and Raph was the perfect candidate.
Tumblr media
The final brother dynamic in the farmhouse arc with Mikey and Raph was little when it came to screen time, but Raph still shows how much he loves his little brother after Mikey gets captured by the Punk Frogs in the episode The Croaking. As soon as he sees Mikey, Raph drops everything mid fight to hug his brother, relieved for his safety, though the hug abruptly ends after Raph and Mikey find the situation to be “weird”, a very brotherly response if you ask me XD
With this, we know full well how much Raph loves his brothers. Despite his “lone wolf” attitude in season 1, Raph makes it clear from the very beginning that he does care about his brothers more than anything else in the world. He's loyal, he stays by his brothers' side and has admitted countless times that he would rather die than see them get hurt. "I have no problem risking my own life, but risking my brothers?" (S1 ep14) and he states this again in the next season, “Sorry, Slash. My brothers come first, no matter what.” (S2 ep7). Raph makes it clear (to the audience) that his brothers and his family always come first (so I don’t know why fans keep saying he hates them).
Also, anyone that says that he abuses and is a bully to Mikey needs to go touch some grass because that is a big fat lie and you obviously didn't watch the show (or you're an only child). Brothers are going to fight and pick on each other. That is normal! As someone with an older brother (who is much like Raph btw), I can confirm that siblings to this and in the end we still love each other and have each other’s backs. Out of all the brothers Raph is the most protective of Mikey. The second he learns that Mikey is hurt or someone wants to harm him he is the first going in for the attack or the first one to take action to protect Mikey and bring him to safety.
Tumblr media
I mentioned this earlier, but I love how Raph grows/learns to respect Leo as a leader, though he still questions his brother’s judgment from time to time. By season 5, in the episode The Forgotten Swordsman, Raph and Mikey are out on patrol and start talking about Leo. Mikey expresses concern for Leo to which Raph says “He just misses Master Splinter. Being sensei's hard on him. I just wish we knew-”. Raph gets cut off, so we never know what he was going to say, but I headcanon he was going to say “I just wish we knew how to help him.” Raph acknowledges Leo’s growing stress and pressure of being the new sensei after Splinter’s death and he wants to help out anyway he can, but he (and everyone else) just don’t know how. He looks up to and respects Leo and cares about him a lot more than fans and even he himself believe.
Tumblr media
Though we see very little moments of them, my overall favorite brother dynamic is Raph with Donnie. I like how Raph is the only brother who is direct and tries to help Donnie move on from his crush on April because he worries and cares for Donnie and knows he’s sensitive when it comes to his feelings. Even when Raph shows disapproval of Donnie’s crush on April, Raph will still be a wingman for Donnie. In the episode Operation: Break Out, after rescuing April’s dad from the Kraang prison, Raph starts hyping Donnie up in front of April to make him look good. Also Donnie refers to him and Raph as “The New A Team” in the episode Arena of Carnage (Mikey does too at one point in another episode, but later he calls him and Raph “Team Awesome”). I just think Donnie and Raph are a fun team and a very underrated sibling duo of “brains and brawn” in the series. It deserves more love and attention from fans.
Tumblr media
I’ve talked about how much Raph cares for and is loyal to his brothers, but he is the same towards his friends too. He's protective of April, being the one to go rescue her from the Kraang in the episode The Kraang Conspiracy. He’s even the one who’s words get to April when she was possessed by the alien Za-Naron in the episode The Power Inside Her, reminding April about how much she cares for Donnie which gives her the strength she needed to free herself from Za-Naron’s control. Raph shows he cares for Casey's safety when they do dangerous missions that are out of Casey’s element and was the one who made sure Casey was safe when he was cursed by Alopex’s blade in season 4, and despite their past, Raph is always worried and shows concern for Slash.
Tumblr media
Raph shows throughout season 2 that he has faith in Slash to turn to the side of good (something Raph gets proven right about later on). Raph is even one of the first people to trust Slash when he returns with his new team The Mighty Mutanimals in season 3, despite Leo's harsh judgements and suspicion.
The strange thing is, it is usually the other way around, with Leo wanting to make allies and Raph being the distrusting one, a dynamic switch we will see again in season 4…
I can’t make a 2012 Raphael appreciation post/character analysis without talking about the queen herself, Mona Lisa! As mentioned previously, Raph is a softie, and one of the biggest examples of that is when it comes to his relationship with his love interest, later girlfriend, Y’gythgba aka Mona Lisa. When trying to survive on the ice planet, Raph is the only one to suggest that he and the others should team up with the Salamandrians to find the metal they need to fix their ships and get off the planet. Though Raph’s plan is highly motivated by his newfound feelings for Mona, he knows that it is the best option that can help save his family and friends, and despite Leo dismissing the idea, Raph sneaks off alone to convince the Salamandrians himself.
Raph’s feelings for Mona Lisa have always interested me, specifically how he fell for her. Unlike his brothers with their love interests being the cliche “love at first sight”, Raph’s was “love at first fight”. We all know how Raph fell for Mona, they fought each other after a misunderstanding and after one good punch to the face Raph was smitten. He quickly began admiring her strength, acknowledging what a power punch she gave him, and amazed by her skills and spirit as a warrior. Raph admits right from the start that he loves Mona because she's “bigger, stronger and a better fighter than” him. He never once feels that his masculinity is being threatened when around her, and throughout their relationship never told her to not be herself. He loves that she's better than him as a warrior and can beat his shell! He shows excitement at the suggestion of him and her sparring together someday in the episode The War for Dimension X. He adores her, and never cares about others' judgment regarding his relationship with her. When Casey laughs at him after discovering his crush on her, instead of denying his feelings or getting angry at Casey and later the others for mocking him (something we would expect Raph to do), Raph instead continues expressing his romantic interest in her to everyone. He opened up about his feelings to others! If S1 Raph met and fell in love with Mona, I’m convinced he would’ve been a tsundere and just be in denial about it the entire time, not wanting to look soft because he has a crush. Raph met Mona at the perfect time in his life. He has emotionally mature. In truth, I think Mona made Raph a better man and was the key to help him continue his character growth throughout the rest of the series.
A good example of how much Raph has changed and matured is when Mona betrayed him in the episode The Evil of Dregg. Discovering that his first love, the one person he trusted “more than anyone in the galaxy” betrayed him, broke Raph’s heart and his fighting spirit. When Mona pleads for forgiveness, you can understand Raph’s anger and now he’s not quick to forgive her, but even when he’s mad at her he still loves her. Look at Raph right before Mona goes off into battle:
Tumblr media
If he was truly mad at her, he wouldn’t be looking back, his back would be fully turned, refusing to have his eyes meet with her’s. He looks back at her but he’s not looking at her with anger or hatred, it’s sorrow. Raph still cares, he’s just hurt at the moment. Because of the betrayal, Raph believes that everything he and Mona have been through meant nothing to her, but then Mona assures him that his doubts are wrong when she tells him that she loves him for the first time, and that’s all Raph needed to hear to bring back his fighting spirit and run into battle to join her. Raph even snaps and tries to kill Lord Dregg after he harmed Mona and shows just how far he’ll go for her if someone ever tries to harm her (he does it again in S5 when Bishop insults Mona, he quickly jumps in to defend “his woman”). By the end of the episode, Raph and Mona reconcile. Him forgiving her shows how much Raph has grown as a character. S1 Raph would never have forgiven her, he would’ve held the grudge and not let go of it, but this Raph knows what Mona did was out of her control, she was blackmailed, so Raph did the mature thing, understood her situation, and forgave her. Him forgiving her shows how strong their love for each other is, and they keep on showing how much they love one another throughout the rest of the series.
Tumblr media
Some other little details about Raph’s character that I like is that he's an animal guy. With his first pet Spike and the rooftop pigeons, we see a side of him that everyone else rarely gets to see. This minor trait about his character speaks a thousand words. It shows that he is gentle and caring at heart despite his tough persona he gives out to everyone else. We see this not only with Spike in seasons 1-2, but also later in seasons 4-5 with his new pet, Chompy Picasso.
By the time Chompy enters Raph’s life, he has matured. The purpose for Spike was for Raph to have someone to talk to about his feelings and express himself without judgment. Spike was like a therapy dog. Chompy however is not that. Raph has learned to open up by this point in the story, so he doesn’t need Chompy to talk about his personal problems and frustration as much as he had with Spike. Yes, Chompy is there to listen to Raph but at this point in the story Raph is open and expressive and not afraid to show his feelings to others. Raph has probably mention things to Chompy he still wouldn’t say to others (like in The Tale of Tiger Claw, he talks about Mona Lisa to Chompy, seeming that this isn’t the first time he’s done this), but Chompy isn’t a pet for Raph to vent to, instead he was a way for Raph to learn a new responsibility. Chompy is just a baby who just needs someone to love him, to look after and care for him, and Raph is that someone. He took a big responsibility to take care of Chompy after it was believed that his mother, Tokka, was killed. Raph doesn’t need another therapy dog, no, Chompy needs a caregiver, and when Tokka returns to take back her baby, she sees how much Chompy loves Raph and decides that it is better for him to stay on Earth with Raph where she knows he will be safe. I will always stand by this: Raph needed Spike, Chompy needed Raph.
Tumblr media
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think Raphael is more similar and a parallel to Splinter than Leonardo is. Leo may be Splinter’s “best pupil” and next in line to be sensei for the Hamato Clan, but Splinter and Raph have a lot more in common than the show’s canon or even the fandom acknowledge and it hurts to think of the wasted potential. Raph obviously inherited Splinter's temper. We see in flashbacks that when Splinter was a young man he had an uncontrollable temper that Shredder could easily manipulate, and we still sometimes see that temper blow up in the show when Splinter is upset and disciplining his sons. There’s more similarities though than just them both being hotheaded. They both have a love and appreciation for art. Splinter mentions in Lone Rat and Cubs that he always wanted to be an artist, and it’s well known he loves the renaissance artists. Raph being an artist is a cute and fun little detail about his character that I really like and you see many times in the show, but fans barely acknowledge. He’s the one who painted the Venus pin up girl on the Party Wagon, he gives his girlfriend the nickname “Mona Lisa” (which he indirectly tells her that every time he calls her Mona Lisa he is reminding her that she is a beautiful work of art), and names his pet "Chompy Picasso" after the artist Pablo Picasso. Not to mention that both men know the pain and fear of the woman you love dying in your arms. I love Raph’s relationship with Splinter in the show, and it’s honestly way more interesting than Leo and Splinter’s.
Tumblr media
I love their little “Spike, chew on your leaf…” bit in season 1 and how they bond over the Japanese mantra to help Raph overcome his fear of insects in season 4 (btw Raph being scared of bugs was so fun, I like the trope of the big strong dude being scared of something so small and harmless). The episode ends on a fun note, Splinter tells Raph to not tell the others of the mantra cause he “might use that trick on them one day”, showing that Splinter has a devious fun side to him similar to Raph’s.
Is 2012 Raphael perfect? Not at all. No character is. He still has flaws, but I feel that’s what makes him such a fun character still. I feel he had the best and most character development in the series. I love his voice actor, I love his character development, I love his relationship with his brothers, friends and girlfriend, I love all the little character details about him from his love of animals to his passion in art. It’s just my personal opinion, but I think 2012 Raph is the best version of Raphael. He has faced injustice in this day and age with fans misrepresenting his character and hating him for the wrong reasons. You don’t have to like him, everyone has their own opinions on certain characters and I respect that, but there’s a time when not liking him goes too far with saying he’s a bully and abuses his family. The haters can go argue with a wall, 2012 Raphael is the best and I love him, and I hope this post made you appreciate him a little bit more too <3

Why does it feel like we in the q!bbh fandom are constantly defending q!bbh from people who hate his character for no reason.
I say no reason because a majority of the time people make things up whole sale to get mad about or take the smallest action completely out of context to get mad about it. There are legitimate things about q!bbh that I can see turning people off from his character but those things are almost never part of the discourse.
It’s always: q!bbh doesn’t care about the eggs, q!bbh is the most evil person on the island and should be killed repeatedly, he and Leo have no relationship and she would dislike him, Dapper’s deserves a father that actually cares for him, etc etc etc
It’s honestly exhausting because all of these things are blatantly untrue and I have no idea how anyone could come to these conclusions even if they never watch a second of bbh. Q!bbb is the sole reasons no egg has died of neglect since Trump. Q!bbh is the sole reason many of the eggs have maxed out armor, auto feed set up so they are always at max health, and an XP backpack with hundreds of XP. Q!bbh is constantly going out of his way to help others the moment they ask regardless of his own plans.
There is a REASON q!bbh is the only character on quesadilla island with access to every egg’s safe room in and out of the Ninho. Q!bbh is the only character on the server who has an actual relationship with every single egg that goes beyond acquaintances. Ramon is Dapper’s bff and constantly hangs out with bbh and Dapper. Bbh has done Leo’s tasks more times than I can count and her last words before being kidnapped were “I love you”. Bbh has taken care of Tallulah and Chayanne too many time to count. It was only after talking to bbh about how she feels guilty about feeling like Philza is more her father than Wilbur that Tallulah asked Philza to adopt her. Pomme is literally his daughter. Richas has spent countless nights hanging out with bbh and Dapper (and Pomme) after his parents logged off. Bbh would literally burn the world for Dapper in a heart beat.
When bbh learned no other egg made it off the island in purgatory, he spent the last 15 minutes of his stream muted because he was crying irl. Q!bbh was literally killing himself after the eggs were kidnapped and is basically a walking corpse rn with a gapping hole in his head that’s been there for two months. He’s been having memory problems for over a month - this development with his short term memory loss is a natural progression of his preexisting condition!
PEOPLE PLEASE criticize his character for things he actually does. You don’t have to like every character - q!bbh is an annoying little menace! But don’t make shit up to get mad about I’m begging.
If you don’t like a character, then ignore them. There are several character on the qsmp that I absolutely despise and get annoyed when every they show up on stream but I doubt anyone following me could tell me which characters those are because I never talk about it! Especially not in the main tag! I think through purgatory - when my frustration was at its highest - I mentioned one of these characters once in the tags of a reblog.
Tldr: if you don’t like a character, ignore them. Don’t make shit up about them to get mad at. You’re just making urself look like an idiot and an asshole.

Been cooking my own tmnt iteration for a while, dunno how much will live anywhere but my brain but I wanna do some refs, so here's the turts!
I've been calling it Teenage Mutant Jazz Turtles or tmjt for short
If you care to hear some more you can peak under the cut
(More refs coming??? eventually I'm still stuck on some designs)
As the name implies, tmjt has more inspiration drawn from musical elements than combat elements. With the turtles not only living in a big ol' tour bus but also attempting to become a competent band after finding their magical instruments. But the ones they discover aren't the only ones out there, and some belong to some pretty nasty characters. (All the villains are gonna have a theme based on a different genre of music!)
The turtles travel and live with their dad (Splinter) and adopted sister (Casey). Originally just trying to survive but that kind of all changes when they accidentally interrupt a plan from the foot clan and not only discover some magical instruments that can turn into weapons, but also an entire world of monsters and creatures when they thought they were the only ones.
Leo is the oldest sibling, but despite this she struggles to be responsible for her siblings after her gender realizations caused a massive crack in her confidence. She's constantly self conscious of how others are perceiving her, even her own family in spite of their boundless support. She's always loved music, thanks to her dad, and dreams of being a singer, but because of how her mouth is built that's also an uphill battle. Her duel katanas can shift into a cello which can put opponents into a trance like sleep. While her given name was Leonardo, she's not sure what she wants to change it to, and simply goes by Leo for the time being. While she doesn't like to show her mouth, her teeth and jaw are powerful enough to bite through a steel knife.
Donnie is the second oldest (by just four days!) and is the one who stepped up to be in charge while Leo figures things out. He doesn't entirely mind the responsibility, though the pressure gets to him sometimes. Especially when Raph decides to criticize his decisions. They're very analytical and logical, their main passion being for mathematics which extends into some of the sciences as well such as physics. They know enough engineering to maintain the tour bus and build a few helpful devices such as their goggles or the calculator in their glove. Donnie puts his passion for math into music, using it to map out patterns for tunes (though not all of them sound good in the end). Their four eyes also have an additional lens to see heat signatures (and their dark vision is incredible). Donnie's clarinet allows him to create visual illusions.
Raph is the second youngest (by four days, Donnie constantly reminds him) and despite his appearance is one of the more level headed members of the family. You kind of have to learn how when your body could release gases that could paralyze your family members. Raph vents his frustration by either releasing gas that Donnie can convert into fuel for the bus or by writing poetry. Not that he ever lets the others read it, but he does put that skill into writing song lyrics. While he keeps cool and collected he still loves a good brawl, and will happily spar with anyone (usually Casey). He just leaves a lot of the destruction to his younger sibling, unless someone in his fam gets hurt, then the gloves are off. Raph is fiercely protective and will square up if someone so much as looks at one of his siblings funny, especially Leo. His high emotions are often why he and Donnie argue. Raph's trumpet can cause phantom pains in the skull, though he rarely has to use it give it how potent his gases can be.
Mikey, the youngest, is a tiny terror and he not only knows this, he takes great pride in it. Mikey enjoys causing chaos for the sheer joy of it, and enjoys it the most when Raph will simply hurl him at opponents for him to latch onto. Over the years he's learned to climb very well with his four arms, going up trees and buildings with ease which can make him very hard to chase after. Despite his love for trouble, however, he can be just as sweet, though his desire to do good deeds for his love ones can be a bit misguided at times (no Mikey you can't just rob the ice cream stand stop). Unfortunately as long as it keeps hiding behind Raph when the consequences happen, it may take some time to grow up (not that it has any interest in doing so right now). Mikey's drums allow him to create intense vibrations in the ground, enough to topple some buildings.

TMNT Imagines: Guide to Being their Friend!
What the title says 😎but no this is the guide for being each turtles friend!
Leonardo
Being Leo’s friend entails that he’ll have someone level headed to talk to. I feel as though all versions of Leo needs a friend to match his energy.
2007 & 2003 Leo would seek to talk to his friend when he needs a break from being the leader. He holds a heavy burden on him, and sometimes, he needs a cleanse; has to let loose for a bit, Ya know?
That being said, try and get him out of his comfort zone! Invite him over to hang and have him dance! He’ll feel weird at first, but he appreciates that you’re actively trying to get his mind off of the heavy burden he carries constantly.
2012 Leo: watch Space Heroes with him, please. His brothers (Raph) clown him so much, he would love to have a friend that shares the same interest.
Rise!Leo: be chaotic with him, ALL THE TIME! Seriously, go out and do some spontaneous shit with him, see where his portals can take you both, anything! Make beats together, he seriously doesn’t care as long as it’s a vibe.
All this being said, all versions of Leo would appreciate a friend who can listen to his problems. To hear where he’s coming from, ya know? If him and Raph argue or there’s tension, listen to him. A lot of the times, he thinks he’s not doing enough. That he’s failing at being their leader when something goes wrong.
“Leo, as your friend, I can tell you firsthand that nobody could do this leader thing as good as you can.”
He likes to hear that. That SOMEONE appreciates and sees his efforts! So please, give him a good pep talk when he needs it!
Raphael
Okay, guys.
Raph is not just some fucking asshole who goes around raising hell in every room he steps in.
He doesn’t constantly fight or argue with Leo, and I hate that sooo many fanfics write him this way, fr fr
I 100% believe Raphael is just a guy, just a fuckin guy yall
He’s more glass half empty a lot of the times, and he’s most definitely blunt.
I believe Leonardo is the most skeptical member of the team- he doesn’t trust so easily, not to say Raph doesn’t.
However, when you start to come around the lair often, and even hanging with his brothers, who is he to shut you out? You haven’t done anything to him, or treated him badly. He’s definitely laid-back, does his own thing, minds his business, you get the idea.
Tell him all your jokes, seriously- this turtle needs a friend with a sense of humor. To hype him up, or to be his spotter, anything! Even if the joke is shit, tell him, the worst he’ll do is straight up tell you that it wasn’t funny LMAO
If you don’t like people telling you the truth and being honest, STAY AWAY FROM RAPH!
He will NOT sugarcoat shit for you, he will tell you the cold hard truth. If you don’t like this, your loss.
Everyone needs someone like Raph in their life- to really slap them in the face with reality! He WILL call it like he sees it. His delivery is always sort of harsh, but it comes from a good place. He lets you know that after.
Since it’s a platonic relationship between friends, get ready for him to tell you about the women he found attractive while on patrol.
If he does wind up getting into a relationship with a girl, he will have to explain to her that the friendship you both have is important to him, especially if you’re close enough to be considered family. Family always comes first for Raphael.
Really needs you to tell him about himself sometimes. He doesn’t want a friend that’ll lie to him, even though he probably won’t like what you have to say. If him and Leo get into an argument and he’s at fault, let him know. Don’t always take Raph’s side, ESPECIALLY if he’s wrong. He’ll be mad, but give him a few to cool off and realize you’re right, you always were. You come from a good place, and he remembers that always.
He’s definitely misunderstood- but a lot of the times, he hides his emotions, because he doesn’t wanna seem soft. But, we all know this, especially 2012 Raph! He hates looking weak, but we see him continuously care for his brothers.
Same with 2007 Raph, I honestly don’t know why people write him to be such a bitch, ie; doesn’t care what anyone has to say, rude to his brothers all the time, etc etc. they take ONE of his toxic traits and RUN IT TO THE GROUND YALL
If he’s comfortable with you, he will show his soft side, he just doesn’t show it to his brothers- especially Mikey.
Always reliable, if you need him, he’s got you. He’s 1000% a loyal friend, and hopes that you trust him enough so he can possibly open up to you. It takes a LONG time to get to this point, though.
Really loves to rendezvous, 2007!Raph loves a good bike ride to nowhere, and he won’t mind taking you with him. This goes for all versions of Raph- go with him to do absolutely nothing! Except if he wants to be alone. Hang out with him while he’s working out, or go on a bike ride with him- a lot of the times he just wants someone to appreciate the city lights as much as he does.
I also slightly headcanon that he’s chiller than the other turtles tbh.
Donatello
Oh Donnie
First off- he loves to talk. DEPENDING on who he’s talking to. He really can’t hold a conversation with Mikey, so.
But, if you’re his friend, be ready for him to talk a lot, especially once he’s comfortable around you.
If you’re into the same sciency shit he’s into, he’ll be over the moon! He can’t really converse with his brothers or Splinter about it since they can’t understand what he’s saying half the time.
A lot of the times, he really just needs an outsiders ears. Someone that’s not his brother or Sensei. He wants you to give him advice that’s in his best interest.
If he’s crushing on April, he will ask you for advice. Please be careful of how you speak to him, he’s not like Raphael.
You shouldn’t sugarcoat anything with Donnie, do tell him how it is, but be gentle, and use your words WISELY. Do NOT say anything that will hurt him. Use a gentle tone, please.
If its 2012 Donnie & he’s showing you that music box he made for April, please let him know what you think of it.
“I really like the effort you put in it Donnie, but don’t you think it’ll be a bit much for her? What about something smaller, like making her a bracelet?”
Like this. Do not bring him down! Any version of Donnie, don’t bring him down! He already has issues with self-confidence, always keep this in mind!
He would really enjoy if you could help him out on some of his inventions, he gets someone to talk to, and someone to be his helper! It’s a win-win for him
Please, make him food! Bayverse Donnie specifically! But, any version of Donatello, please make the turtle food. Slip out the lab when he’s working on something, and instead of heading for the pop-tart box, make him a quick sandwich with lots of greens, something that’ll taste good & boost his energy! He’ll munch at it while he’s working, but he will always let you know he appreciates it.
“Thanks for always helping me reach my daily caloric intake, Y/n.”
Michelangelo
First off, you better have some free time in your schedule!
Mikey really loves people, he’s the most sociable out of the four, and he’s a party dude! So please, hang out with him! As his friend, come down to the lair whenever you can to visit!
Play video games with him, go searching for new comics, discover new parts of the sewer, anything!
I think he needs stimulation a lot of the times, and a great way to do this is to embark on different adventures with him. Shit, steal the shellraiser and go on a drive through the city (don’t let him drive, he can be a passenger princess.)
He will always be doing something, and he’s always random- always expect the unexpected with him.
You have to be patient with Mikey though, he might have your brain going 1272626 miles per hour when he’s excited about something, but let him! He’s excited about what he’s talking about, don’t shoot him down.
Have Mikey train you on occasion. It’ll make him feel that he’s doing right by helping a friend! It’ll also make him feel good about his skills, and that he can even teach someone!
This goes for any version of Mikey- help him find new hobbies! He already skateboards, dances, cooks- try some art! Bring over some paint and canvases and go at it together. He will appreciate that you’re taking the time as his friend to get his hands on some things he’s never tried before.
Also, his cooking! 2012 Mikey especially, get him a cookbook, PLEASE! If you’re going to the Lair, bring over some new ingredients for him to use, or better yet: invite him over to chill and watch a movie! You guys can fuck around and make something yummy! Try and get him to have something not related to pizza, expand his palette. He probably will be picky, but whatevs! He’ll find something he enjoys.

PLEASE give me any world building ideas you have for the caseynardo au!! That art was gorgeous, I’m so curious about it now 👀
Pssst ive got your Elder Gays fix >:]
First off, some lore on various phases in the Husband’s lives courtesy of @lucatea
- The guys have their own loose knit clan of scavengers, but that clan also has an enemy clan, competing with them over territory mainly. This other clan has a tendency of being violent, yes they’re basically the evil dudes in this AU.
- in a tasty parallel to Splinter’s human life, this enemy gang does burn down the boy’s first home, with Leo getting trapped in the burning house and almost dying, for some context a tangent:
- The Gays have a divorce era >:] 💅 it was inspired by rewatching Road to el Dorado and the melodramatic gay breakup in the movie with a song by Elton John ft The Backstreet Boys (slay.) After some time stranded in this new dimension, Leo starts to think that no one is coming for them, while Casey holds on to hope, they are pretty young here but they have already started scavenging. This entire time, they have been mainly looking for portal tech in order to try to get home (the tech does exist, but it’s very very difficult to find and there are just tiny fragments, which makes it very difficult, especially since these guys have no idea what they’re doing.) Leo falls into dispair and grows tired of searching for tech and wants to give up, while Casey wants to keep looking; so they fight, and split up, which is the first time they’ve been in their own, since they stuck together the entire time they were there. Tangent over, back to the fire 🔥
- They spend some time bitter but also worrying about each other. Meanwhile, the enemy clan has noticed that Leo is on his own now and has decided to take him out, cue housefire. Meanwhile, Casey decided to come back, realizing that they need to stick together, and while he’s not far from their house, he’s pacing back and forth, deep in thought, trying to figure out what he’s going to say to Leo and doesn’t notice the orange glow in the distance and the smoke rising from where their house is. When Casey runs through the woods towards the house he goes from the dark and calm woods to looking up at a raging inferno. He runs in and tries to get an unconscious Leo out, but part of the house collapsed and is pinning him down, with most of the weight on his right leg. With the flames closing in and the house filling up with smoke, Casey makes a heat of the moment decision and cuts off Leo’s leg at the knee (which wasn’t too hard since the bones were mostly reduced to shards.) He gets them both out alive (barely,) and manages to stop the bleeding. During the ordeal, Casey sustained many burns (but Leo not so much, the brunt of the flames hadn’t gotten to him, just the falling rubble,) mainly on his arms and back from shoving away the burning rubble.
Casey barely has time to breathe when he has to take Leo and make a run for it, since he can hear the enemy clan coming for them. Adrenaline is the main thing that gets him out of there, considering he’s trying to carry a still unconscious Leo on his back. He flees for who knows how long, trying tend to Leo’s wounds and being paranoid that he might die or that the enemies are still after them. Eventually, they come across an abandoned base, which becomes the home in that painting I did.
Leo pulled through, but Casey felt incredibly guilty about cutting his leg off, so he hyperfocuses on trying to make him a prosthetic which leads to:
- Casey made Leo’s prosthetic. I think that after a learning curve, he’d actually figure out how to make stuff out of the ancient tech, since he is kinda mechanically inclined in the show, with fixing cars and making himself gear and stuff.
He’d be running around putting himself in danger to find parts and worrying the hell out of Leo. But he’d have to constantly worry whenever he’s away that something might happen to Leo (who’s still at the base,) like he’s going to come home and find the place on fire.
- The boys have pets. This world has a domestic Horse-sized dog species. At some point, Casey finds a stray and brings it home, Leo disapproves but Casey does puppy-dog eyes and gets to keep it. But are you ready for the best kind of pet?
Grabcrabs:
Tumblr media
Grabcrabs are very smart chihuahua-sized crab creatures and are the most common type of pet. They are child-like and very empathetic, as well as handy. Grabcrabs often have hobbies or jobs, and can be taught to do most things, but are not capable of language. Grabcrabs like accessories and normally wear something reflective of what they like to do. Grabcrabs are often helpers and therapy animals at places like hospitals (they wear little nurse hats.) A Grabcrab cannot be bought or chosen by a person, a Grabcrab chooses you. They can be very mischievous too, but never cause real harm because they feel bad when they do. They are pure little guys and it’s despicable to hurt a Grabcrab. The relationship to these little guys is different depending on what society they’re with; they can have genetic differences because when inside a city, their populations are mostly isolated, and their social roles can be different, with some cities even considering them equal to people while others even worship them.
At some point, they notice a little crab creature following them and after trying and failing to get him to go away, Casey names him Ricky and they now have a crab toddler. Ricky learns basic first aid, and he likes to garden so he has a little sun hat.
Tumblr media
Ricky is the best boi. He plays a big role in saving Leo from the fire. When Ricky saw that Leo was trapped, he ran out for help and alerted Casey to the fire by freaking out and running circles and tugging on his pant leg. And when Leo is alone at the new base, Ricky tries to stand guard with a little stick, but Casey eventually gives him a knife. Ricky loves mischief but is also very protective and caring
Ok enough Ricky, we need some angst:
- At some point, Casey gets kidnapped by the enemy clan and he is held prisoner / hostage for some time (a month or two maybe?) during which Leo is losing it. He is furious and will stop at nothing to find him. Over the time Casey is missing, Leo starts to fear that he’s already dead or that they’re hurting him (since these bad guys are very much evil assholes,) so when he finds the enemy base he rips that place up and goes on a rampage beating the crap out of everyone there. He finds Casey chained up in a cell with all his gear gone and in poor condition.
Tumblr media
After they escape, Leo takes care of him and he seems to be recovering before he takes a sudden turn for the worst. It was the point where he was walking around normally before he suddenly collapses. He gets very sick and gets close to the brink of death. He makes it but he gives Leo a good scare.
Random tidbits:
- the guys go on date night inside the cities, most often the restaurants or festivals. The cities hold different kinds of festivals yearly, and Casey drags Leo there.
- Casey is better with tech than Leo is.
- The way their house is depicted in that one painting I did it looks very peaceful. That’s because they’re above the treetops, but everything below is a jungle/forest hellscape. They have a massive barrier or electric fence of some kind surrounding their house to keep things out, specifically dangerous animals. In this world, the higher up you are, the safer you are, cities are often built high up in mountains or trees, although some take the other route and try to go underground instead. Most of the dangerous megafauna lives at sea level.
- around that world, you can find ancient remnants of various kinds of tech, mostly being giant destroyed mechs made for fighting. There are also rare labs and facilities that can be found (most are buried underground.) in these facilities is where most kinds of advanced tech can be found, as well as power source crystals (like the Kraang Crystals but smaller,) while the above-ground tech are mostly just rusted hunks of metal.
- the most peaceful times outside of the safe zones are the daytime, mainly early morning or afternoon. Night time is the most dangerous, with midday being close second, since most predators hunt at these times. Midday is also dangerous since it’s when the weather becomes the most extreme, with intense heat waves in the summer.
- Casey kept up his graffiti and now likes to do murals in their house.
- The jungles where they live have many Cenotes and underwater cave systems. The issue is that there is a species of vin that grows across these in a thick mat, covering them completely. It’s easy for someone who isn’t paying attention to fall through the vines and into a cave/cenote/pit, basically any hole in the ground, the boys fall into these a lot when they first get there.
I you have any questions or ideas, don’t hesitate let me know!

TMNT Crossover Fics and Trauma
Something I find really weird about some writers in the TMNT fandom is the absolute insistence that if a bunch of different iterations met up, they would all be horrified at what happened in Rise, being shocked that they've gone through such terrible things at their age, and then would coddle the living daylights out of the 18 boys after learning about their Krang/Shredder. Warning, spoilers ahead.
Don't get me wrong, the Rise boys do go through a lot of traumatising incidents at a young age, and if you consider the other turtles to be older than them when they meet they probably would try to help out. It's just, every iteration of the turtles goes through a lot of traumatising events at a young age, and most crossover fics just seem to sweep these under the rug to prioritise Rise.
I guess this is fine if Rise is your fave version and that's all you want to look at, but it always comes across as weird to me when you have characters from 12 for instance being like oh no, 'one of you got possessed and forced to fight the others, one of you got melded with a piece of tech, one of you almost got locked in a prison dimension, and your city was invaded by Krang, etc, I can't even imagine the suffering you have been through', when all of these things have happened to the 12 boys before, some even multiple times.
They've all been possessed/mind controlled and used against their brothers, Donnie merged with the Speed Demon, the Krang have invaded their city, their entire world was destroyed! Same with 03, they've been possessed/mind controlled, their city was taken over by the Demon Shredder (and Don saw the SAINW Shredder controlled world), they had to fight at least five Shredders, one of whom was also a demon, etc etc Also, as most of the other series ran for longer than Rise (trust me, I am also annoyed that we didn't get more of the 18 boys as 18 was the first show to properly get me into TMNT and I do love it), they also went through more traumatic events than the 18 boys.
Again, I am not trying to say that what the 18 boys went through isn't traumatic, because they definitely had a lot of bad stuff happen to them. But it does feel so weird to dimish everything that the other turtles went through when they were pretty much the same age as the Rise boys.
Take, Donnie: In 03 he's double mutated at least twice, tortured by an invasive mind probe that also electrocuted him, lost a friend to another dimension, got sent to an alternative future and learns that another of his friend and his father are dead before he watched his brothers get killed in front of him, believed himself to be responsible for the loss of his father and went through his own mini depression arc trying to cope with thlle guikt whilst working to bring him back, and that's all off the top of my head.
Poor 12 Donnie... he has died multiple times one of which was beinh literally torn apart on a molecular level by a possessed version of the girl he loves, has also been double mutated and/or possessed multiple times (not sure whether being turned into a vampire counts more as death or mutation), has immense guilt over a variety of things that aren't actually his fault (Leo's coma, when they thought Splinter died during the first invasion, everything that happened with Pulverizer), has also been tortured via electrocution to the head, spent an episode being beaten up by his mind controlled brothers only for them to be snapped out of it pizza, is constantly pressured to be able to fix/solve everything and is frequently told he isnt good enough etc etc
Again, these are examples for just 03 and 12 Donnie that come from the top of my head. Looking at other iterations and characters would make this post even longer than it already is, but I think the Donnie examples alone are enough to prove my point.
In conclusion, if you are writing a crossover fic with Rise as the central point of focus, that is completely fine! If you want to mainly prioritise looking at their trauma because the others are older than that is valid. I just wanted to point out that it can come across a little weirdly if you have some of the characters being completely horrified by the events of Rise, and acting like they could never even begin to understand what they have been through when they've all had similar trauma in their own pasts. Or when you have a bunch of characters being like, 'Oh you almost died, you are turning my scales grey', when they have all almost or actually died multiple times.
It's just a little funny to me for example to have any of the 12 sibling act like, 'I can't even imagine how much you must have suffered when you thought Leo was lost in the prison dimension' when their Donnie has legitimately been killed in a horrific way in front of them, their dad has been 'killed' in front of them multiple times, their own Leo pulls self sacrificial stunts, their entire world was destroyed in front of them, etc
This may just be me coming across as a little bitter but, if you are doing a crossover, it doesn't make sense to me why you would just ignore all the events of the other shows completely in order to make it sound like Rise had it the absolute worst. It seems like it would make more sense to have the characters relating to one another around shared or similar traumas 🤷‍♀️

HI HI POOKIE CONGRATS ON 300!!!!! U DESERVE ALL THAT N MORE MWAH MWAH (wipes tear... they age so fast)
aside from that im here for the event aswell >:) Q R W with natsume leo and tsukasa if i may request !!!! if you dont feel up to it feel free to change the characters or ignore! congrats once again <3
Tumblr media
SAKASAKI NATSUMI, SUOU TSUKASA & TSUKINAGA LEO + Q, R, W
warnings: mild mentions of guilt/unhealthy coping mechanisms (leo)
Tumblr media
q = quizzes (how much would they remember about you? do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Despite Natsume’s lax personality, he’s actually quite good at remembering things. Though he may act like it slips his mind, he will never mention it ever but he’s trained himself to memorise all those important dates–like your anniversaries, birthdays, etc. He might not be as good at recalling everything about you, but he does his very best to at least keep the things that he or you deem important in mind. Your favourite food, your favourite colour, your likes and dislikes–and so on and so forth. Though it may not seem like it, he hoards all the information you tell him, treasuring every part of you that you share with him, because it comes from you.
The minute you say something, rest assured that Tsukasa is noting it down–mentally, if not physically. A compendium of notes in a small booklet that he carries around everywhere, containing nearly everything you’ve ever told him about yourself. He takes care to memorise as much as he can–and it’s enough that, if tested, he can rattle off a rapid list of information pertaining to you. It’s cute, honestly. This is his first time being in a relationship, and Tsukasa doesn’t want you to ever feel underappreciated. He cares for you, truly, and he does his best to show it to you by paying attention. And if you remember things about him, you’re guaranteed to make him smile and blush.
When it comes to this, Leo’s funny because his brain is almost always on overdrive. He’s constantly thinking about something or the other, composing countless melodies in his head, that anything he’s told goes in one ear and out the other. Oh, sure, he tries to pay attention but, well–it’s hard. However, that’s not to say that Leo doesn’t remember anything about you, he does. It’s just… Leo’s the kind of person who doesn’t know your favourite colour, but knows the name of your third-grade teacher. He knows all your obscure knowledge. It’s endearing, really, when you think that he at least made an effort to learn about you–even if he still doesn’t know your favourite colour.
r = remember (what is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
Natsume’s favourite moment is when you confessed to him. You were so cute, stuttering slightly as you told him, I like you! It had made his heart skip a beat, watching your eyes dart here and there, as though you couldn’t bear to meet his gaze–like you were afraid of rejection. But how could Natsume ever say no to you? The way you smiled tentatively as he accepted, replying to your declaration of love with a confession of his own, is something he’ll never forget. A memory that is always circling in his thoughts. Of course, it definitely helps that he got to kiss you afterwards–got to taste your chapstick and hear you giggle against his mouth.
Leo’s favourite moment is any moment when you’re paying attention to him. He likes resting his head in your lap, like a spoiled cat, while you pet his hair as he rambles to you about his day or vice versa. Just being able to spend time with you is calming to him, soothing the nervous energy that circulates through his blood, like he’s just taken a shot of espresso. When you look at him, he feels seen. He knows you’re a busy person, but that only makes it all the more special when you take time out of your schedule to be with him. Staying with you, no matter where in the world you are, is something Leo feels he could do forever and never get tired.
Tsukasa’s favourite moment is when he gets to shed the pretenses and simply be himself with you. There’s no specific scenario, to be honest. He just likes spending time with you–not as the Leader of Knights or the Suou Heir, but just… Tsukasa. Your Tsukasa. And he thinks he might like that part of him best. The one that gets to hold your hand, that gets to go on dates with you, that gets to kiss you…! Any time that he’s with you is important to him, is special to him. As long as he’s with you, he’s content. He’s happy to do anything, so long as it’s you who’s next to him as he does it. Being with you is one of the pleasures of Tsukasa’s life–one that he wouldn’t trade for anything.
w = whole (would they feel incomplete without you?)
Natsume wouldn’t necessarily feel incomplete without you. He’d feel a little empty, sure, but it’s not like it’s something time won’t fix. He’s not the kind of person to give love too much importance, so he’d be more calm about it. He’d miss you, definitely, but he wouldn’t make a big deal out of it. If you ever break up, it’d take him a while to get over it, but he’d manage in the end. Natsume would try to treat you the same, and not act like there are any problems that stem from his lingering feelings, but he’d be good at putting them aside if he deems it necessary. He’d force himself not to think too much about it, only allowing himself to indulge in nostalgia when he’s feeling especially down.
For Leo, who’s the kind of person to love unconditionally and passionately and with wild abandon, he’d feel hollow. Not incomplete per se, but something similar. He’d blame himself at first–for not being good enough, for not convincing you to stay, for all those things–and he’d self-isolate. From you especially. Keeping away from the thing that hurt him, hiding himself away as much as possible. Being around you reminds him too much of how things used to be, which is a constant ache now, and Leo is a master of not dealing with things healthily. He’d probably just keep avoiding you for as long as possible, not giving any chance for either you or him to talk your issues out.
Tsukasa would feel guilty. His first relationship crumbling? And so easily? Was it…was it something he did? Not incomplete, but he’d feel awful. A sick sort of feeling, a persistent ache that won’t go away, that won’t leave him alone. Heartbreak, Narukami-senpai would tell him, a wise look on her face and Tsukasa thinks, oh. Maybe his heart is breaking…? Interactions with you after that would be awkward, because he isn’t quite sure how to treat you, other than not like a lover and not like a stranger, leading to a strange mix of overly-familiar and overly-distanced. He wants to ask you why, but he doesn’t want to ruin this carefully crafted equilibrium, so he just stays silent.

24, 14 and 7 for Leo Ortiz (if you feel like it), 6 for River, 25 for both!
questions from here.
(for context: Leo Ortiz is my PC for the game of Masks: a New Generation that vin-ill dm's)
24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions?
Oh so many choices! I'm gonna go with 'what if Leo had stayed Bryce Brilliant'.
Firstly. He'd be fucking miserable LMAO. Staying the Star would mean staying under his mother's control. You cannot be yourself, you are a caricature of someone (of yourself), you will not ever be yourself (is there even a real Leo?).
Secondly. Without a good support system (Johanna), I think he'd get more and more self-sacrificing really quickly. Does that mean he'd still have ended up possessed? Idk, hard to say.
I feel like I'd have retired him - or just lost him - by now if he had stayed under his mother's thumb.
14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?
ah the bread and butter of the Masks: a New Generation system. Who are you? How do people perceive you? How do you perceive yourself? How do you want to be perceived?
Starbright wants to be seen as a hero, not a freak, not a danger to his surroundings.
Leo Ortiz, however, wants to be mundane, he want's to be just some guy. He never truly cared about being a hero (being a savior), it was a job, it was something that was forced on him by his mother. Instead he is a freak, and if he sneezed to hard he could probably hurt someone (don't get any ideas there luuk 🫵).
(Really, what he wants is to have his own life)
7. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?
Well the obvious one is that he changed playbooks, twice. Starting off as the Star, then became the Protege, now in his (hopefully) final form as the Nova.
Leo is a completely different person and yet he is the same.
25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?
He seems more complicated than he is! Leo isn’t complicated at all he’s just contradicting himself constantly. He wants one thing but he wants the other thing actually.
It’s really fun to play.
6. How easily could your OC be convinced to do something that goes against their moral compass?
answered here! (tl;dr: because you asked)
25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?
In the other ask I answered: his height, but there’s many things i love about River.
One of my other favourite things about River is how important his relationships with other people are. I didn’t intend for him to be so close to people but he is, he loves people.

Did that little Alt!Raph in the background notice Leo-???
Okay but image being that Raph. That would be kinda horrifying. You see your brother, Leo, in the distance. But... that's not right, Leo's fighting right beside you?
And then you look closer, and you realize that this "Leo" is... not quite right. You can't make out much, but he's weird, lanky, covered in bandages, caked blood, and- is that wisps of smoke coming out of him?
Either way, somethings wrong and it terrifies you.
Haha I actually tried to make it a bit unclear as to whether he noticed Leo or was too focused on his own Leo about to fall off the building to see. Honestly it could be both!
And yeah, should he have seen Leo, he’d definitely be pretty “???????? Wtf” about it (and be so mad when the others say he was just seeing things lmao)
One note though! In this path, Leo does eventually figure out how to not constantly be covered by bandages and wounds, but that causes the haze to come off those spots instead. He goes back and forth as to what he’d rather go with, but tends to go with the haze because always changing the bandages sucked haha
Still, just seeing him from a distance, surrounded by grey smoky haze, little Raph absolutely would have been like “😨”

pt. II | pt. III

Tropical
Capricorn Sun:
Starting off Canon, being born on December 28th would make him a Capricorn. Dedicated to his career, he’s always going above and beyond as a hero. Ambitious, determined, and practical sums him up pretty well, always climbing higher and higher to reap the rewards.
I think his sun's degree would be in a Leo too. Not only does his drive revolve around his career, but we also see his opinion on the importance of his popularity. Keigo tends to shine naturally, his glow attracting many to him.
His sun would also be in his first house; he is shown to be very intuitive, optimistic, and even affectionate in his outword persona. On the other hand, however, he shows signs of being self absorbed and indecisive. Though, he is very confident and full of life, always seeminly 3 steps ahead and ready to take the initiative.
Virgo Moon:
AS a virgo moon myself, I know another native when I see one. Him being a Virgo moon makes him quite the talker (Virgo being ruled by mercury) and has a very noticeable sense of humor. Hes thoughtful, observant, and always looking at the finer details, scrutinizing them down to the tiniest of levels. He's creative, restained, and willful, yet also very spontaneous when something intriguing appears in his line of vision; Virgo moons tend to have very opposing characteristics.
One thing that can be said about him that we all know is that once he focuses on a goal, he doesn’t stop until he fully attains it. Not just his professional life, but his personal as well.
Calculating, attentive, and principled, he goes about his day doing exactly what he’s intended to do. Socially, he’s very chatty and friendly, basking in the attention of many. His magnetic charm and success make it difficult to not fawn over.
However, his idea of his ideal partner makes him hard to satisfy. It’s easy for him to get stuck in his internalization and self-criticism, one of the reasons he may feel unworthy of a partner because he feels hard to love. Instead, he makes up for it by helping others.
He probably imagines being in a relationship with some who’s imaginative and uninhibited. He prefers his partners to be sensual passionate, someone who takes the time to understand him. Someone who won’t shy away from spicing things up in the bedroom or from his daily doses of affection. Extremely adaptable and willing to please, he’ll do almost anything you ask him. Romantically, his partner will have to be serious about the relationship because he doesn’t want to have another adventure or a one-night stand.
He won’t be emotionally available in the beginning, and his partner will have to wait for some time for him to open up. Keigo wants his partner to follow their own purpose, to think for themself, and to be affectionate and loving when he gets stuck in his professional rut.
I feel as though the degree of Keigo's moon would fall into the sign of Taurus. He's steady-minded and extremely loyal (to a fault). He tends to get stuck into his very toxic comfort zone of following demands without question and keeping himself guarded from people who care for him, without even seeming to realize the distress he puts himself through by doing so (poor baby). He's also very hard working and thrives in his routine-based life, yet he plays it cool and calm.
In my opinion, his moon would probably fall into his 9th house. Moon in the 9th house natives are always focused on a multitude of things, dreaming to make their ideals come true, no matter the obstacles. Seemingly never satisfied with his surroundings, he's constantly zipping around to avoid staying stuck in one place. Keigo is inquisitive, witty, and adventurous yet mysterious and obsessive. Needing to be constantly stimulated because even though he is stuck in his routine, at the same time he itches to escape it. Believing the grass will always be greener on the other side, he struggles with understanding happiness comes from within.
Sagittarius Rising:
I had a hard time struggling between Sagittarius and Gemini, but concluded he must be a sag rising with his dominant planet being Mercury. Sagittarius risings are known to have ever-smiling lips and thick hair, with lithe and agile bodies. His body language friendly and open-hearted, he's quick with his movements and dramatic gestures. He's optimistic and sunny, forever preeching the importance of freedom. He's inspirinng, enthusiastic, and expansive.
His Ascendent degree would be in Libra: airy, easygoing, with never ending charm. He's fair-minded, peaceful, and integrous. Friendly and charismatic, he attracts people like moth to a flame. Although he tends to avoid emotional involment.
Sidereal
Sagittarius Sun:
In his Sidereal chart he is a Sagittarius, an honorable and compassionate person with endless wisdom and intelligence. His never-ending thirst for knowledge and his justice-loving nature makes him quite the hero, yet his ends justify his means. He's honest and straightforward, a carefree soul who enjoys his freedom. His career bringing him fame and more wealth than he knows what to do with, yet sculpting his beautiful body and broud shoulders.
I believe he also has his degree here in Capricorn. His freedom loving nature compared with the need to work hard. Overly ambitious, he takes his profession very seriously. Underlying his charm and charisma, he's very serious and cautious, yet still bold, flashy, and carefree.
Leo Moon:
His moon would be Leo; he's extremely self-assured with a strong desire to lead, his confidence great enough to influence the masses. He'd rather rely on his own efforts than request for help and we see him attach his emotions to whatever it is he's indulged in at the moment. His outlook on life is positive and almost comes across as royalty. You can see this even down to the way he dresses too. Virgo moons tend to have an excellent taste in fashion and Leo moons dress flashy to match their personality. Hes outgoing, cheerful, charitable, and dutiful. Despite his brilliant persona, deep down he feels alone.
Keigo enjoys the thrill of the chase, as most men do. And once he has you, he will hold onto you and spoil you like his life was dependent on it. He has a burning need to satisfy himself, going above and beyond to fulfill his desires and make his inner child happy with anticipation.
Hawks is extremely adaptable to not only his surroundings but for his partners as well. He will completely adjust for his partner, and his flexibility is limitless.
He wants to share everything with his partner, the excitement, the fun social events, the pleasures, the romantic escapades, and you will not only learn to enjoy them but do it freely and without inhibitions. He has this talent, to infect other people with his intense enthusiasm. Although he might give the impression that doesn’t listen to your ideas, don’t be surprised when he proves that he does.
The degree for his moon would likely be in Scorpio: sensitive, secretive, and steadfast. His emotional needs intense, yet sadly never fully reached. Coming across as powerful and influential, there's so much that runs below his surface that nobody gets to see or really understand. He secretly seeks to build intimate relationships that are deep, passionate, and personal. Yet when it comes to sharing how he feels, his lips stay seeled. Half-hearted relationships or short flings are never something he'd be interested in. You are either all in or not at all.
Scorpio Rising:
Ascendent in Scorpio, unlike his Sagitarrius counterpart, is the sign of is mystery, intuition, and intensity, yet still ever the charismatic. You can feel his presence everywhere he goes, he's definetly not someone easily pushed around or taken for granted. He's respected, honored, and often at times glorified or feared. He carries himself as powerful, strong-minded, and ambitious. His manner often touching extremes: he's either extremely quiet or overly loud.
You're either going to love him or you're going to hate him. His actions and way of life create strong reactions from people because whatever he does, it does not go by unnoticed. His intuition is so powerful that he can sense any threat and see through anyones false front. His presence is either menacing or fascinating.
Private as any Scorpio, he values his solitude and likes too keep his surroundings under control. He's a perfect strategist; if someone wrongs or betrays him he plans his next move thoroughly and secretively. His best attribute is his loyalty, ever dependable, respectful, passionate, romantic, and truthful, yet very possessive. Not someone for flings or hookups, his goal is commitment, a relationship for the long haul.
His degree here would be in Aries: youthful, energetic, and honest. Not necessarily agressive, but he's assertive. Whatever he needs, he pursues it relentlessly as he pushes himself to always work hard. He likes to do things at the speed of light, his attention short when combined with his agility. Seeking to change and take action in life, he often struggles to finish what he starts.

So I saw you said you've been writing oddly specific headcannons-?
And I'm just here to say-
y e s
I would like to see them plz XD
-T
Omg do I..??? Have an anon..???? :0
HIIIIII :DDDD
The handholding/blush hcs were the oddly specific hcs I had mentioned— HOWEVER— HAVE MORE THAT I THOUGHT OF OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD
Leo had a lisp for a while — it wasn’t very noticeable and he hid it well, but Mikey thought it was cool so he copied it, exaggerating the lisp. it became “Mikey’s thing” (as it usually goes when the younger sibling copies 😭)
Donnie doesn’t like grass. Not like plants in general- he loves plants- he just hates the feeling of grass. Considering they’re in New York, he had never really felt it until April took them on a road-trip, in which Donnie had quite literally hissed at the spiky foliage.
Leo will randomly sing/yell at the top of his lungs and will not relent until one of his brothers copies the stim back.
“AAAAAA”
“AAAAAAAAAAA”
“AAAAAAAA, THERE NOW WILL YOU SHUT. U—”
Raph has nightmares; like— a chronic nightmare kind of thing, it’s why he’s an early bird. when he wakes up from them and can’t go back to sleep— he goes to Leo. “Leo?? Why Leo!?” you ask? Well, my friend, Countless reasons! 1. Leo is the one who cares most about Raph’s fear of being alone, and I feel like waking up in the dark without anyone awake would KICKSTART THAT MF. 2. Leo has insomnia, anyway, and usually he’s awake when Raph has a nightmare. 3. Leo talks in his sleep, and it’s really hard to feel alone in the when there’s someone in the room being loud as hell. 4. LEO MAKES JOKES?? IN HIS SLEEP??? Raph gets to chuckle a little through tired tears, feeling more comfortable in his own shell. 5. Leo and Raph are constantly fighting for control of the team as leader, however, when the team isn’t involved, it seems like they can both just relax and enjoy the quiet. 6. Leo is the lightest sleeper unknown to man. Even if Raph just peeked through the curtains, the slightest fabric movement has Leo jutting awake, looking around before recognizing his brother, a tired smile replacing the shock on his face. 7. Leo doesn’t judge him or make him feel any less of a hero for having a nightmare. All he does is smile, ask “What’s up, bug guy?” with gentle understanding, and offer a place on the floor to sleep. THAT ONE WAS LONG SHSJSBSJBD
Raph has teddy bears. Many. Many teddy bears. I feel like this is mostly canon considering his frequent buyer gift card, but I just feel like it had to be said 😤
Mikey is FLEXIBLE as FUCK. “Psycho-acrobatics” is right.
Donnie offered to give Casey Jr. braces, but the time traveler declined, saying he thought they looked cool.
April, Cassandra, Casey Jr. and Sunita will sometimes call themselves the “protesters quartet” as they often go out to advocate for rights of certain minorities.
April knows how to temper chocolate. She rightfully abuses this power.

So I saw a really well made analysis on why splinter and raph are similar
(Please read it btw it’s well made)
So I wanted to explain why I think two other characters are similar.
Who are they?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yup.
Lemme explain.
For starters, personality traits they share
Determination
Both put their all into any goal they want to achieve.
For shredder, this is killing splinter
For Leo, this is being the best ninja
This determination can be a bane and a boon, making both goal driven.
Both can also be extreme when these goals aren’t met.
See
Leo becoming extremely doubtful of himself/lashing out when he believes he can’t be a good leader. Whether it’s cause his brothers don’t respect him or he’s severely injured.
For shredder, he also severely lashes out when he can’t complete his goal. To the point he was willing to mutate himself to reach this goal.
Destructive anger
While splinter and raph have more obvious anger issues, Leo’s and shredders anger, when unleashed, is far more destructive.
Using two examples that are similar.
Shredder has killed many in his rage and destroyed the lives of many others. He doesn’t handle failure well at all. Shredders whole character is based on him being so stuck in his own anger he doesn’t think about the fact that what he’s doing is horrible.
While Leo tends to get stuck in his own head when he’s angry. Doing things like trying to take out a mother ship with a scout ship when his home planet has less than an hour left before being destroyed. Why did he do this? He was angry at fugitoid for not telling them something and got so caught up in that anger he didn’t think through his actions.
Hypocrisy
Shredder
“Mutants are vile creatures”
Turns himself into a mutant
“Karai. You are my daughter and I love you”
Constantly finds ways to mentally torture Karai for his own gain
“It’s your fault Karai is a mutant!”
Was the one who cut the chain
I could go on
Leo
“Donnie you can’t kill viziozo. It’s wrong”
Beheaded shredder
“Raph you can’t be this nightwatcher vigilante going off by yourself. We’re a team”
Goes off with Karai and shini to stop shredder without telling his team despite the fact that they would want to help.
“Mikey leatherhead is dangerous. Don’t try to be friendly with him”
Is constantly trying to get a known foot clan member on their side.
Idealism
Shredder sees himself as a victim who’s trying to protect his daughter and avenge his love (ok this is probably moreso delusion)
Leo sees himself as a true hero like captain Ryan and does everything he can to be like that.
Honor
Shredder is not an honorable man, but boy does he think he is. Shredder puts a lot of emphasis on what he thinks honor is,
Just like a certain blue clad turtle.
Black and white morality
Both of their moral systems lack nuance and complexity.
“I’m the hero for taking hamato yoshi out of this world”
“I’m the hero cause I let this mugger who beat up a blind man go”
“This person is evil cause they’re against me”
Taste in women
This is gonna sound weird but
Both seem to be attracted to women they know or at least, should know they shouldn’t be with.
For shredder, it’s Shen. A married woman. A woman married to his brother. He knows this, yet still tries to pursue a romantic relationship with her.
For Leo, it’s (Blegh) Karai, a foot clan member he thought was shredders daughter for a bit (so his cousin) who he then found out was his sister. Does he stop pursuing her after finding out she’s splinters daughter? NOPE. Even in season FIVE he was trying to flirt with her. Even Donnie and Casey stopped being weird towards april by season 4.
They also seem to want women they can save.
Shen is unhappy with her marriage at the moment and wants to move to America? I’ll give her that. I’ll get her away from her awful husband and save her!
Karai is a member of the foot? I’ll redeem her! Karai is splinters daughter? I’ll do whatever it takes to save her and bring her home! (That one’s not bad) Karais trying to lead her own foot clan? I’ll save her from herself!
Now. Here’s the big question.
Could Leo become like shredder?
HELL NO!
Why?
Splinter and his brothers. They could be d••ks to Leo and put too much pressure on him, but they make it clear to Leo that they love him and appreciate him for what he does and sacrifices (eventually)
I don’t think saki had that. His father didn’t seem to love him much and then there’s the whole “genociding his biological bloodline and then lying to him his whole life”
Leo and shredder may have similar traits, but just like how, despite being similar, raph would never become splinter, Leo would never become shredder.
This probably isn’t that well explained but my brain wouldn’t leave me alone until I made this analysis.
Hope y’all enjoy!
Feel free to add any parallels y’all have noticed!

Hello anon :D
So can your tell us more info about the kids? like personality and stuff- like-like what is their fav food and stuff like that
Also how old are they-
For what? no reason :) /this is what i feel like when you publish smt sus 👁️👁️)
Jotaro
June 21 is his birthday (it’s the summer solstice)
He is the oldest.
He has Leo’s DNA giving him advanced strength and speed
He is very brave. He can be impulsive at times, especially when he is young but as he gets older he works on acting less on his impulsive thoughts.
He will one day be the leader of his sisters and their cousins as he is the oldest. When he is younger he can come off as bossy but as he grows he gets better at leadership and communication.
He learns to be responsible. I don’t think Leo and Usagi would put his siblings care on his shoulders, but he does grow up with Raph always checking in on them. He’s the biggest it’s his job to look after his little brother and his family. Jotaro takes that to head and wants to be responsible enough to look out for his sisters
This does give him some anxiety when it comes to his sisters. He was so young when the twins came into their lives. Yet his earliest memory is of his fathers whispering over his sisters cribs as the babies coughed and struggled to breath. Almost losing his little sister so something no one could fight terrified him. Couple that with Kaida’s size as a baby and Usagi’s stress over it. (Usagi never meant to pass his worries and fears onto his son but even the best parents pass on things they don’t mean to to their children) he is very scared that his sister will be taken from them and there is nothing he can do to stop it.
This does make him very protective of his family. Even his dads as Leo and Usagi come home with injuries sometimes. Jotaro wants to be strong to protect those he loves.
He loves training. Not just because it makes his stronger but because he enjoys spending time with his dads, uncles, aunts, and grandpas. He also thinks it’s fun. Leo and Usagi try very hard to not let the weight of the world fall in their children. They keep training light and fun as it is more so that their children can protect themselves if need be and not ‘Shredders return eminent.’ If there was one thing Splinter did well as a father it was to not put that weight on the boys to early and Leo doesn’t want that for their kids either.
He is very love if a giving. if you are someone he cares for their is no length he wouldn’t go for you.
He likes to cook and enjoys that it is a way he can care for his loved ones.
He is very athletic
Raph is his safe person. If his dads are unavailable he goes to Raph. Raph helps Jotaro with his anxities. He teaches him how to crochet and helps Jotaro make things for his family as they talk about anything that is bothering Jotaro. It’s health to have another outlet for his emotions and to have someone he knows understands how he is feeling.
Sakura & Ume
March 20 is their birthday (it is the first day of spring in the western world, the spring equinox and also the earliest that cherry blossom trees will bloom in Japan)
They do not have Leo’s DNA they will always be a weaker then their siblings.
Because of their premature birth they were sickly children
Sakura
She switch’s between hobbies constantly.
She’s an artist. She loves painting and drawling. Her preferences are water colors and color pencils
She has a love of baking. She loves backing simple things like chocolate chip cookies but she also likes making and decorating complicated cakes.
She loves fashion to. With her art skills she likes designing her own clothes as she gets older. She is learning to sew her own clothes and likes making clothes for her family
She loves dancing. She likes all types of dancing but she is taking ballet classes and loves to perform in the hidden city. It’s the one hobby she is always doing. Ballet is her passion.
She is a brutal fighter. She took after Cassie in hand to hand. Her ballet training mixed with her rope dart makes her a dangerous combination. She will kick her enemies but and look flawless while doing it.
She is an extrovert. She is out going and loves making new friends.
April is her safe person.
Ume
She loves cooking. She spends time with Mikey learning to make new meals for her loved ones. It’s a passion for her.
She likes dancing to. She isn’t as passionate about it as her sister but she does enjoy learning different styles
She learned to play the violin from Leo and is actually quite good at it. It’s a comfort for her and she loves playing duets with her dad. She also likes playing while Sakura dances.
She enjoys reading and writing. She enjoys creating stories and developing plot. As a teen she talks her siblings into playing dnd with her. Mikey dms for them until Ume wants to take over.
She an introvert. She prefers to be alone/ with her loved ones then meeting new people.
She is very calm compared to her sisters excited attitude
She is a pacifist compared to her siblings. She would prefer to talk out a problem then fight. But she will when it is needed. She would do anything for her family.
Her safe person is Kitsune.
Kaida
Jan 16 (appreciate a dragon day)
She has Leo’s DNA giving her I handed strength and speed. She is also the only turtle in the family. She is far more durable then her siblings
In the end she is also the tallest. Beating Jotaro by just a inch but it’s an inch she won’t let him forget.
She is chaotic. In both her energy and her fighting style. She trained with Cassie. She is a brutal fighter with her knifes and fists
She is an acrobat. She learned how to flip and twirl from Mikey and has made it her own. They hung up circus equipment for her in the lair. She loves it when she comes to visit.
She loves going swimming. It’s near impossible to get her from the pool/spring before she is ready.
She has a very sweet and positive personality but she is NOT the person you want to make upset. She is brutally honest and has the most out of pocket things to say. She also can hold a grudge like no other. (Like mother like daughter)
She is incredibly impulsive. She will rush into any situation without a care. (It stresses Jotaro out so much and is one of the main reasons he is working on his impulse control)
Mikey is her safe person
