I'm finally ready to release the first version of my Windbrook save file. Thank you everyone for all the love, you kept me going when I felt like throwing in the towel.

This is the first version of the Windbrook save file, a test run so to speak. I've meticulously combed over everything to make sure everything was functional. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BANK WILL NOT BE FUNCTIONAL UNLESS YOU HAVE SIMREALIST FINACIAL CENTER AND SNBANK MOD, FIND THEM HERE AND HERE.
Moving on, as of right now Willow Creek is the only world made over. Please note that this save file was built using Srsly's Blank Save. What this means is EVERY WORLD besides Willow Creek (the world I built in) and San Sequoia (Growing Together expansion pack) is empty. Please feel free to use your own lots and sims to fill the other worlds. Ultimately, I plan on building every world with a realistic mid west aesthetic; but that's months in the making. All that being said, this is not a finished save file!

All packs and most kits except My First Pet was used to create the Windbrook save file. I heavily used Everyday Clutter kit, Bathroom Clutter Kit, and Basement Treasures kit. Owning all packs and kits simply isn't a reality for everyone, and I apologize that for those who don't own all the packs and kits, you might not get the full experience of the save. That being said, all packs and kits are not required. The game will notify you that you are missing content, and will will replace them with another item - after that, everything is functional.

Summary: There’s a bra in Steve’s back seat. He has some explaining to do.
��What’s this?” Lucas says in the back seat of Steve’s car. “Ooooooh it’s a bra!”
Steve looks in the rear view mirror and his eyes go wide.
“Shit.”
Eddie turns around in the front seat to see Lucas holding up an enormous bra. It takes a moment for the implication to hit, and then it punches him right in the nuts. Fuck.
“Don’t touch that, Lucas,” Steve growls.
“Steve had a girl back here,” Dustin crows.
“I did not!” Steve says. “Put that down!”
“This is huge,” Max says, grabbing the bra from Lucas and feeling the enormous padded cups. “Jesus what is this, an F cup?”
“Who’s the lucky lady?” Lucas asks.
“Who do we know with enormous tits?” Max says. She holds it up to herself. “Dustin, is this your mom’s? Ow!”
They’re all laughing and smacking each other and shrieking. Eddie looks out the window and tries to put on his most aloof face.
Steve and Eddie have only been hooking up for a few weeks, and neither of them have said that they were exclusive. If Eddie had assumed, well, that's on him. Always the idiot, and matters of the heart are no exception. He fell in love with Steve like it was breathing. He should have known that King Steve would have a whole flock of women to choose from. Eddie is clearly just an experiment. It wouldn’t be the first time. He’s had a few partners in the past who believed that they could be with a man once and get it out of their system. Eddie is usually happy to oblige. But he really thought that this was different.
“Settle down back there, okay?” Steve says. He’s bright red, and clearly irritated. “It got mixed up in my laundry at the laundromat. Jesus, get your minds out of the gutter.”
The kids calm down a little bit, and they’re friends again by the time Steve pulls into the arcade. Eddie is about to follow them out of the car, but Steve reaches out and touches his arm.
“Wait, Eddie. Can we talk?”
“Sure. Whatever.”
Eddie looks wary as he sits back down. He sneaks a glance at Steve, who’s still bright red. Eddie knows that Steve does his laundry at his parents’ house, and the bra is clearly too large for Steve’s mother.
“I can explain–” Steve starts, but Eddie cuts him off.
“You don’t have to.”
“I didn’t–”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Steve looks surprised and almost a little hurt.
“Doesn’t it?”
Eddie shrugs.
“We never said we were exclusive.”
Now Steve definitely looks hurt.
“I thought– Well. No. I guess we never did. Have you–”
“If you have another–”
“I don’t–”
“I just want to know–”
“I don’t!”
“--so I can get tested–”
“The bra is mine!”
That stuns Eddie into silence. He stares at Steve for a second, but Steve can’t meet his eyes. Steve is looking at the ceiling, biting his lip and blinking fast. His fingers drum on the steering wheel.
“Sorry, what?” Eddie asks.
“I’m not– It’s just a thing. It’s just something I do on some weekends. There are these performances. Like shows. On the first Saturday of the month, in Indy.”
“Do you…” Eddie is trying to wrap his mind around this. “Are you a… A woman? In your heart?”
Steve shakes his head fast.
“I don’t think so? I’ve thought about it, and I’ve talked to some people. I still like being a guy, and I like my body and I feel good as a man. But sometimes… I dunno. I just want to be…” Steve gestures vaguely.
“A queen,” Eddie finishes.
“Yeah.” Steve sniffs hard. “I’m sorry. If this is too much–”
Eddie lets out a surprised little giggle, then covers his mouth. Steve looks miserable.
“Sorry!” Eddie says. “I’m not laughing at you. It’s just… God, Steve, you really couldn’t be more perfect.”
“Don’t fuck with me,” Steve snaps.
“I’m not! I’m not, I swear. I thought you were seeing someone else! Fuck, man, this is better than my wildest fantasies.”
“Really?” Steve has a gentle look of hopeful surprise on his face that’s so open and vulnerable it makes Eddie want to bite his own fist.
“Yes, really. What’s your name, then?”
“What?”
“Your drag name.”
Steve smiles shyly and bites a fingernail. Eddie wants to cry, he’s so pretty.
“It’s still in progress, okay. So you can’t laugh.”
“Okay.”
“Connie Cushion.”
Eddie gasps like Steve just dropped to one knee and proposed.
“Concussion!?”
“Connie Cushion, yeah.”
“Can I… meet her some time?”
Steve bows his head, rubbing the back of his neck and beaming.
“She’d like that.”

Rest: Slow Down

Summary:
Steve really ought to slow down but he doesn't until he gets sick. Now he's paused long enough for Eddie to catch him.
Warning: Almost smut under the cut (｀∇´) ψ
Steve couldn't stop moving. He was picking Robin up, dropping off the kids, cleaning, taking bottles to the recycling center for change, using it at the laundromat, giving the spare to the kids for the arcade.
And Eddie watched.
He watched the continuous flurry of movement, no stranger to an anxious need to pace or fiddle with his guitar or rings. However, Eddie also knew how to waste a day, get high and lie on the roof of his van, let the fears and pressures of the day bleed out of him. Steve wasn't doing that. It was like watching a machine, grinding its gears, and Eddie didn't want to see him screech to a halt only because he'd finally broken down. Luckily, he didn't have to intervene.
...
Steve's voice was scratchy on the phone.
"Angel, you sound sick."
"Yeah. It's… look everyone still needs things from me, rides and shit and I can't… I don't want them to catch whatever this is."
"Hey, it's okay. I'll handle the gang. You just rest."
Eddie felt grateful that Steve had even called to ask for help. He got the kids to walkie each other, moved around plans, and took on the usual 'Steve' duties. That evening he was at Steve's shitty studio apartment door with take-out and cold meds. A bleary Steve opened the door, nose running, cheeks flushed, sputtering as Eddie pushed his way inside.
"You'll get sick," Steve whined.
"Have you actually been resting?"
"Yes," Steve grumbled unconvincingly.
Eddie dropped his bags and wrapped his arms around Steve from behind, pressing his chest to Steve's back. "I could help you. I know the best sleep aid."
"Huh?"
"Take your temp the old fashioned way," Eddie asked, grinding against Steve's ass, his hot skin radiating through his thin pj's.
Steve arched into the touch; his words slurred. "Could be contagious."
"Then let me take care of you," Eddie whispered in his ear. "All of you." He let his hand wander to palm Steve's growing erection.
"Now," Steve squeaked, undermining his complaint. "You finally make your move when I'm snot filled?"
"Had to wait for you to slow down." Eddie finger's combed through Steve's sweaty, deflated locks. He nuzzled against Eddie’s cool touch on his hot forehead and mumbled. "What babe?"
"Happy to slow down for you."

My sister's been getting really into the local pinball scene and apparently she just told me about the county's pinball white whale. There is a local laundromat in town and it houses an elvira pinball machine from 1989. It doesn't work, it's kinda banged up, but it's a cool machine that people are interested in. BUT for whatever reason the laundromat owner doesn't want to sell it or even repair it, and has even declined people repairing it for free because they just really REALLY want to play this machine. So now all the local pinball players and the pinball arcade owners are just frothing at the mouth over it

Time for Ji Ho to say goodbye to Genji. He seems even mad at Genji for not trying harder to keep him... It’s not easy for Ji Ho.
Genji: “Hey... if this skinny goth boy annoys you... there is always a place for you. Here at the Laudromat. In my bed and in my heart.” *winkwinkwink*

And so they parted ways. On his way back to the Space Balls Bar, Vlad pondered about what happened. He did sense Genjis presence on Ji Ho as he drank from him. But it didn’t affect him at all - it was meaningless for him.
Yeah, it could have been another story if I restored the save after Ji Ho got bitten. But this gives us a bunch of new possibilities and twists. I’ll have to sort some ideas out and a lot I planned beforehand will/can not happen.
But, what is (very) important for me: I dealt with something that I tried to avoid and I made something out of it and I’m pleased with it. So I hope this gives me a little strength and confidence to deal with other obstacles in my messy life haha.

So I'm building a Minecraft city and so far my big obstacle (other than all the houses I have to build) is trying to remember/ figure out all the little businesses/buildings I pass everyday IRL and don't think about.
So like if y'all have any suggestions for everyday boring buildings that might go in a city, feel free to reblog or comment on this post to make a suggestion, it would really help me.
So far I have built, along with just a lot of houses:
-3 apartment buildings, 4 office skyscrapers, a laundromat, a library, a vet office, an animal shelter, a dentist, several restaurants of different bents, a movie theater, a ballet studio, several gas stations, a doctors office, a jail, a shoe factory, a salon, a bakery, a coffee shop, an arcade, a mechanic shop, a park, a car wash, a motel, a hotel, a grocery store, 2 schools, school bus depot
I plan to build, eventually:
-a fully decked out hospital, a cemetery, some churches, more gas stations and grocery stores bc I know I need several of those, a clothing store, a bus depot, a nursery/gardening center, a furniture store

Any ideas are welcome. I'm sure there are like a thousand obvious things I'm not thinking of. I just wish so much that there were more decoration blocks in Minecraft bc my stores are barren. :(

I don't really have any new sketches atm but have some random facts or something
Both Sam and Val can't cook great, at best Val can make a decent egg on toast
They literally eat nearly all their meals at the restaurant owned by Kain's mom (Ms. Wanchai)
Their main source of income is bounty hunting
Why? Because being a bounty hunter gets you a bounty license which can be used as a form of ID without needing to be registered in the government archives (loopholes lol)
This is great for Sam, who's not supposed to be in this era and is keeping it a secret, and Val, who's technically legally dead
This way they can continue to make a living, and continue leasing the apartment
Bounty hunting itself is a dying profession unfortunately because the risks and the government slowly trying to push it out
tbh in the Retrograde world, if you either work for the government, become a bounty hunter, or join the terrorist group
You lose your bounty licence if you don't complete a bounty at least twice a month
anyway enough bounty stuff back to Sam and Val
Bounty hunting gets them like around 800 USD (there's a different in world currency tho)
Harder bounties can go up to 2k or more
But it's not like a lot so they're kinda just scrounging by
On off days Sam usually goes to the arcade or a bar at night
Val spends most of the time inside, but he'll also take his hoverbike for a spin
Speaking of which, Val got his hoverbike in a street race against this rich guy during his early bounty hunter days
That's why it's so fancy
If Val sold it, he'd probably have enough money to buy a fancy place in the city
but he's way too attached to it, plus it's their only form of transportation
Otherwise they'd have to take public transport and walk
They have clothes they wear for bounty hunting and clothes they wear for normal days
They both actually have two of the same jacket each
They do all their laundry at the laundromat where Kain works
Normally, they do all their shopping locally but because it's a small town, sometimes they have to go to Jupiter because it's the closest city
Speaking of which, the name of the town they live in is "Level 4"
It's where Val woke up after "dying" and he hasn't really been bothered to leave since
Because of the halo on his head, Sam gets recognized pretty easily when he goes out in town
Sam's halo turns off when he sleeps, but he also recently found out if he covers the metal implant on his back with tape, they it goes away somehow (however it makes him really sleepy when he does that)
Val used to smoke a lot but he doesn't anymore, he only does it if he gets really stressed about something or he has a nervous breakdown
There's a lunar eclipse that happens every year since the cataclysm, Sam is always super excited to see it since he's a big fan of astronomy events
Val has always felt incredibly sick on those days, ever since he was a child, he usually closes all the blinds and locks himself in the bedroom,
It feels like his blood is trying to claw its way out of his veins
It goes away the next day so it's probably nothing
Anyway Val can actually speak 3 languages: English, Italian, and Russian
Sam once developed a strong addiction to a specific cherry smoothie at a dinner and had it every single day for an entire week, he spent the next week in bed from a terrible stomach ache
And finally as a fun Christmas special
For Christmas, Val and Sam usually spend it with Kain and his family plus their friends,
they don't have a christmas tree cause those species of pine trees kinda died out overtime and are pretty hard to find nowadays, and they don't have enough money for a fake one they'll use once, so they just opt to decorate a random houseplant
Anyway sorry this is pretty long 💀 ngl you can bring as many hcs as you want, they could probably have a chance to make it to the canon-
