February 13, 2000, the final Peanuts comic strip was published. Written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz, it ran from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. The strip is the most popular and influential in the history of comic strips, with 17,897 strips published in all, making it "arguably the longest story ever told by one human being".

At its peak, Peanuts ran in over 2,600 newspapers, with a readership of 355 million in 75 countries, and was translated into 21 languages. It helped to cement the four-panel gag strip as the standard in the United States, and together with its merchandise earned Schulz more than $1 billion. Reprints of the strip are still syndicated and run in almost every U.S. newspaper.

Peanuts achieved considerable success with its television specials, several of which, including A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, won or were nominated for Emmy Awards. The holiday specials remain popular and are currently broadcast on ABC in the United States during the corresponding seasons. The Peanuts franchise met acclaim in theatre, with the stage musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown being a successful and often-performed production.

Peanuts has been described as "the most shining example of the American success story in the comic strip field"; this is ironic, given its theme is "the great American unsuccess story." The main character, Charlie Brown, is meek, nervous, and lacks self-confidence. He is unable to fly a kite, win a baseball game, or kick a football. In 2013, TV Guide ranked Peanuts the fourth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time.

Yes hello, Really enjoying the Monster Clover AU stuff so far but now a question burns in my noggin... What were Ceroba's and Martlet's first impressions/responses/reactions to when they saw Clovers new look?

Hello !! I've loved your art so much ever since I found it around a year ago! (Maybe longer actually) I was wondering what's the process of your art? (Sorta like how do you draw your skeletons, what part of the body do you start on, etc)

Thank you!! Generally I start with heads when I’m drawing. Then I’ll sketch in the rest which’ll give me a loose idea of the expression and pose and then I’ll go and clean it up, which I usually do in order of face/expression - hair - shoulders - arms/hands - torso - legs - feet/shoes

I also like doing thumbnails and real low quality shitty sketches when I’m planning stuff out and figuring out composition and flow which usually look something like these:

#incredibox #sepbox #monart #spiders #Okay time to dump my thoughts in the tags #The first doodle was drawn cuz it had rained recently #I thought Edgar would enjoy the rain (assuming it doesn't rain in the depths)#The Watcher doodle was me thinking about how the Watcher watches over everyone #He sends out his little spider minions to spy on ppl!#He sees everything through their eyes #The Edgar comic is what I imagine he did when he left the depths #While the docs say that they only found his jewerly and crown at the Gateway #I like to think that Edgar saw this new place and immediately stripped naked. Cuz it's funnier that way #He decided to leave his past life as the prince at the gate with his royal clothes and jewerly #or something like that #The last doodle is how I imagine Tam's illness spread across his face #The documents don't mention how exactly he got the illness #I thought maybe it started from an innocuous scratch #He lost his eye cuz it straigh up rotted away #Annnnd that's about it #I'm always thinking about this mod as you can tell. wxs tries to play monopoly. it goes horribly

tsukasa is the top hat because he demands to be. nene is the cat, emu is the dinosaur, and rui is the dog.

if tsukasa is not the top hat you’ve already failed the game

emu and rui try to team up at one point. nene tries to shut this down but tsukasa replies with “I SUPPOSE ME AND NENE ARE ON A TEAM TOO!”

this goes wrong. tsukasa doesn’t know how to play. emu doesn’t know how to play. rui and nene have been playing for years.

and those two are COMPETITIVE

rui gives nene the sharpest look as she lands on boardwalk, the only time he makes eye contact the entire game being as he buys it.

emu also manages to snag park place. nene lies on her back whilst groaning loudly.

tsukasa quotes shakespeare as he secures their first and only monopoly of a color

emu and rui win. nene vows to smoke rui’s ass next time. tsukasa gives rui and emu the firmest handshake known to man as he congratulates them on their win

tsukasa still insists the top hat is the luckiest piece

rereading order of the stick (again), and greyiew is only in a few comics so far but man do i love this nihilistic wolf

#order of the stick #yes i know it hasn't been terribly long since i last reread it but #i've been desperately trying to get my dnd group to read it and i just had to go back and go through it again #and again. the first 250 strips or so are pretty cringey and there's aspects even later that make me wince #but fuck once you get to the soul splice arc you've read the last bad oots comic #''utterly dwarfed'' is fucking *incredible*#i am both incredibly ready and incredibly not ready for the climax #i bet durkon will live and i'm sure haley elan and roy will #o-chul i'm leaning ''survives'' and lien i think will make it #minrah will probably make it. i bet serini is doomed.#belkar is obviously doomed #i'm 100% on the fence about v #like straight-up 50/50 both ''live'' and ''die'' serve strong narrative purposes #but as to how it all plays out?#v still owes the fiends 23 minutes meaning the order can't rely on them to back them up in the clutch #so on the one hand it would make the most sense for them to hit as hard and fast as possible #but on the other - if the fiends *don't* call in the debt for their own purposes #they will have burned out their most powerful member too soon #burlew is too clever and too good a writer for a traditional battle scene as the climax #more is going to happen. *something* massive is going to shift #serini turns? redcloak turns on xykon and gets eaten by the mitd?#i can't tell! i'm going to flip tf out whenever it does happen though #hnggh this has been 20 years in the making and the climaxes have not failed a single note yet #burlew is goddamned *good* at rising action and nailing the climax of a story arc #it's gonna be fucking incredible ugh

My newest comic is very short! I’m excited by this. It’s only 3 pages, so it’ll be just one post, and I hope folks like it. I’m 2/3 done with it at this point. It’ll go up on Ko-fi this week then next week it’ll hit tumblr.
