Another Shakespeare reference!

After Jonathan's talk of Hamlet and Lucy's (problematic) thoughts about Othello, we see Jack join them as well.

This time, it is Hamlet, yet again. Jack says that ''there is a method to his madness'' while he talks of Renfield. Now this is a phrase which has its origin in Hamlet and is now so commonly used that people often do not remember its origin.

In Act II, Scene 2, after Hamlet behaves in a rather erratic manner, it is Polonius who says, ''Though this be madness, yet there is method in ’t''.

Was this a conscious reference? It is highly probable. Stoker was intimately familiar with theatre as the manager to Henry Irving, who was well known for his portrayal of Hamlet and for being the first actor to be granted the Knighthood. Besides this, in both Hamlet and Dracula, characters have to deal with a warped sense of reality.

And, most of all, it is said by Dr Seward, in response to the actions of his patient at a mental asylum, just like Polonius trying to make sense of Hamlet

LOW FREQUENCY (2023, THAILAND)

Episode 1

Mon is an interior designer with the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.

He meets the tall and younger Thames who is an actor and singer and a client of Mon's sister Bua.

There seems to be an instant connection (perhaps friendly but Thames us very flirtatious)

Thames takes Mon for a meal at Thames' grandmother's house. Thames asks Mon to join him at party which Mon politely declines.

Thames calls Mon again asking him to come. Mon who is in bed again declines. The next morning while brushing his teeth Mon sees a news story speaking of a serious car accident. Based on the car description Mon immediately realizes it's Thames as the news reveals...

Looks like next week Mon will meet Thames spirit as he is comatose and his soul leaves his body.

Daily Spell: July 8th

Sun Spell for Leadership

You’ll need:

A gold marker or gold paint and paintbrush

3 oak leaves

The sun is a powerful source of energy. It’s the giver of life and the bringer of warmth, and it’s often associated with power and success. In the past, it was even connected to the right of divine kingship. If you are outside on a bright, sunny day, use that natural warmth and energy to boost your own leadership skills. Try to pick the leaves straight from the tree. Rather than gathering those that have already fallen.

At noon, sit outside under an oak tree, when the sun is high above you, write or paint on the leaves the qualities you believe important to a good leader. You might choose WISDOM, FAIRNESS, STRENGTH, or INTEGRITY. Whatever you select, once you’ve written them, place the leaves together in a stack and fold them three times. Hold the folded leaves between you hands, saying “I will lead by example, by my actions, and with my heart. I will hone my skills, listen to feedback, accept criticism gracefully, and be someone others can look up to. I am a leader in my heart.”

Unfold the leaves, and tuck all 3 of them into the bark of the tree so your skills can grow and strengthen as the oak tree does.

J has a little run to me when she sees me coming to pick her up in the nursery. I shower her with cuddles and kisses to the level I feel she’ll disappear in them. I am so happy that my hands are her favourite land. I want the strength to carry her up for long and long. Today I carried her back home walking.
