#I'm probably going to be accused of being a fake fan

So, I’m very aware that, unfortunately, this might catch me some heat. I can’t stay quiet about it anymore, especially as a fan who’s a queer person of color. I want to make it abundantly clear that the issue with Amazon’s Rings of Power series is the company itself.
You think that Jirt would like a company that’s probably going to outlive the actual rainforest it’s named after?
What about all of the environmental damage that Amazon’s caused?
What about the company’s mistreatment of the poor, and the authoritarianism it has over its workers?
You think Jirt would like something that embodies some of the worst aspects of industrialization? Have you all forgotten how this man portrayed greedy rich people?
Amazon stands against everything that Tolkien was trying to tell us. With all that being said, I’m pretty sure the story’s going to be soulless and surface level as a result. The story is NOT going to be ruined by the inclusion of LGBTQ people, disabled people, or people of color. For Christ sakes, guys, all those people were already in Tolkien’s works! They’re not the issue. Hell, I’d argue that even if we got the original cast from PJ’s trilogy, the series would still suck. Why? Cause Amazon stands against everything that Middle Earth is about. It’s not in their favor to portray Tolkien’s works accurately.
To me, the people who believe that inclusion is to blame for the series sucking, are right up there with Amazon. And I mean right up there with them, you’re doing EXACTLY what Amazon wants. So good job being their bigoted little puppets. I’m sure they love the free advertising, and clout.

auston leaving the arena and noticing you and your friends waiting outside to meet the players or sum and he’s literally like love at first sight and starts flirting and gets ur number 😭 lmao for us realistic toronto girlies obvs - ⛽️
hehe obvs😋❤️ thanks for feeding into my delusions🥰 Auston Matthews x f!reader
Tumblr media
You stood next to your friends, your hands in your jacket pocket as you shivered from the cold. It was near the start of the season and the weather in Toronto was getting colder by the day--fitting for the sport, but not for you as you stood outside the arena in hopes of meeting the players.
"Guys--I don't know if it's worth it anymore--"
"Y/N I don't think you get it," your friend Emily started. "If I don't meet Mitch Marner before I go back to BC--I'm gonna dig my own grave," she said with such seriousness in her voice--yet her teeth were also chattering from the cold. Emily had moved to BC soon after she got her masters and she was only back in town for a little bit for her mom's birthday and to watch the game.
She was a huge fan to say the least. Growing up watching the NHL and even playing for her local girls team. Unlike you--you had only got into it recently, never having that same influence while growing up.
"You can't reason with a girl in love," your other friend Olivia mused with a laugh. You merely roll your eyes and dig your hands further into your pocket.
"I just don't think they're gonna come ou--oh my god," you breath our, your jaw dropping as you see two men resembling Mitch and Auston in the distance coming out of a back door.
"Oh my God!!" Emily screeched, jumping up and down. "Miiiitchhh!"
Mitch being the ever sweet golden retriever he is, excitedly walked over while Auston begrudgingly dragged behind him with a sigh. He was tired, his body aching from a harsh slam he took and all he wanted was to grab dinner with Mitch at their favourite restaurant before going home and collapsing into his bed with Felix by his side.
Mitch with a wide smile, approached Emily, feeding off of her excitement as he spoke to her and entertained her with a selfie.
Meanwhile, Auston was about to let out an annoyed breath when his eyes wandered over to you, unable to tear his gaze away. He was captivated by your beauty, your warmth radiating even in the chilly evening air. As Mitch continued chatting with Emily, Auston excused himself, making his way toward you where you stood off to the side watching your friends interact.
"So you're not a fan of Mitchy's?" he teased in question playfully, causing your eyes to widen in panic.
"Oh no I--I am!" you stutter in defence, your cheeks burning up at the accusation. "I'm just a new fan and didn't wanna seem like...a fake one," you admit bashfully, looking away.
Auston smirked, his confidence radiating off of him as he watched you squirm. If he was honest, he thought it was adorable and he loved how sincere you sounded.
"You didn't grow up with the game I'm assuming?" he asked, wanting to know more about you.
"Yeah...my parents are from a hot country...hockey is probably the last sport they'd be interested in," you say with a laugh. "So that's why my knowledge is limited."
He laughed and gave you a slight nod. "Well, you don't have to worry about that with me," Auston replied, leaning casually against the wall next to you. "I won't judge you for being a new fan. In fact, I think it's great that you're getting into the sport."
You couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement as Auston continued to flirt with you. His charming smile and the way he effortlessly carried himself made it hard for you to resist his charm.
"Thanks," you replied, trying to hide your growing smile. "You're a lot more cute in person," you breathed out, your cheeks heating up immensely at your admission.
Auston's smirk widened, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, so now we're moving on to compliments, huh?" he teased, his voice laced with playful sarcasm. "Well, I have to say, you're not so bad yourself. Actually, you're more than just cute. You're downright stunning."
Your heart fluttered at his words, a blush spreading across your cheeks. You had never expected Auston Matthews, a professional hockey player and known heartthrob, to flirt with you so openly. It was an exhilarating feeling, and you found yourself getting caught up in the moment.
As you go to respond, Mitch walks over and interrupts. "Hey--I made the rounds. We can go now."
You reluctantly tore your gaze away from Auston, feeling a mix of disappointment and anticipation for what could have been. Mitch's interruption reminded you that this encounter was likely just a fleeting moment, and you had to make the most of it.
"It was nice meeting you," you smiled.
Mitch looked between the two of you with an amused smirk and a raised eyebrow, catching on to the flirty tension. "Wait--aren't you gonna introduce me to your new friend?" he teased.
At that, Auston's eyes widened. "Shit--I never caught your name," he pointed out with a bashful smile. Mitch rolled his eyes dramatically.
"Y/N," you giggled in response.
"Did you at least get her number?" Mitch asked, Auston shaking his head no. "Dude! It's like you have no game!"
"I was working on it!" Auston exclaimed.
Mitch scoffed and shook his head in feign disappointment as he snatched Auston's phone out of his hand, unlocking it and opening up his contacts. "No clearly you've lost your skills and I gotta be your dating coach now," he continued to tease, before he handed the phone to you to put in your information.
You continued to giggle as you did just that while Auston blushed madly.
As you entered your name and number into Auston's phone, you couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. Mitch's playful teasing added to the lighthearted atmosphere, and you found yourself growing more comfortable in their presence.
"There you go, Auston," you said with a mischievous smile as you handed the phone back to him. "Now you can call or text me anytime."
Auston's cheeks turned a deeper shade of red, but he flashed you a grateful smile. "Thanks, Y/N. I'll definitely be in touch."
Mitch raised an eyebrow and nudged Auston. "See, buddy? It's not that hard."
Auston rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of amusement in his expression. "Yeah, yeah, Coach Marner. I'll try to step up my game."
You looked off to the side, noticing your friends were now the ones waiting for you. "I think I've gotta go...like I said, it was nice meeting you," you smiled, taking the courage to step forward and press a light kiss to his cheek. "You guys played amazing tonight," you say softly and with sincerity.
As you pulled away from the gentle kiss on Auston's cheek, you noticed a flicker of surprise in his eyes, followed by a genuine smile. "I'll text you."
"I'll hold you to it, Matthews."

note: im back from the dead and bringing you leona content cause damn it he's so 🤬💓💓💓 also if you spot any mistakes in this, no you won’t /j but pls spare me i was writing this half asleep 💀
synopsis: in which you seem to be paying a bit too much attention to your kitten, and leona isn't a big fan of it.
Tumblr media
He glanced away for three seconds. Three god damn seconds. It was such a short span of time, ans yet that spawn of the devil had somehow managed to snuggle up into your lap and had the audacity to look smug about it too.
"Tsk, why is this thing here again?" Leona, trying to hide his irritation and failing doing so in the process, rolled his emerald green eyes so far back he could practically see the stars.
"This thing has a name first of all, for your info its Wolverine Junior the Second. Address him by his name please," you began to pet the tabby cat as he purred out in content before continuing your monologue like response, "and second of all, he is here because he was meowing outside to be let in after you so cruelly kicked him out."
"You've gotta be kiddin' me, your stupid cat wanted to go outside. This little bastard is manipulating you and you're fallin' for it." The beastman leaned against the headboard of his bed as he eyed the cat, who seemed to be staring back with fake innocence.
"Can you believe the nerve of this guy Wolvy Junior?" you focused your attention on the cat, not being able to resist the urge of speaking to your furry companion (the small one in your lap of course) in a high pitched, baby voice, "how dare he accuse you of that when you're such a cute widdle baby boy."
With a prolonged meow, the kitten eagerly rubbed its head against your hand, shortly before giving it a small lick.
Before Leona had the chance to make a sarcastic reply to your comment (and condemn the cat for even trying to play coy), your excited voice rang out throughout the room; "Leona oh my God he licked me! Can you believe it? I think I'm going to cry he's so cute! Why can't you act a bit more like him, hm?"
"That's it. Either get this damn furball outta my room or c'mere and set him down." With a steady glare directed at the cat in your hands, Leona crossed his arms. You couldn't tell whether he was serious or not, but you figured you'd never get a chance like this again seeing as he'll probably permanently ban you from his room after this fiasco anyway.
"What, are you gonna fight him? He'll beat your ass Leona, don't even try it." You had to stifle your laughter as your lover stood up in a record speed to approach your form, even the tabby in your hands looked somewhat pleased at what you've accomplished. Before he could get too close however, you got up from your spot on the floor with the kitten still in your hands and moved away from Leona.
"Oh yeah? You wanna play cat 'n mouse with me? Fine. Don't go cryin' when you lose, 'cause I won't go easy on ya." Accepting your indirect challenge, the tan male quickly tailed your form as you tried to dodge his attempts at grabbing you. You only succeeded for the first minute however, as the tabby resting in your arms was slowing you down and Leona just had to have amazing agility and stamina.
Before long, you had found yourself laying on your back on Leona's very comfy mattress as he firmly circled your waist with his hands. You quickly set the cat down next to you as laughter emitted past your lips at the fact that Wolverine Junior seemed to be pawing at your lover's arms in an attempt to get him off you; Leona however, didn't pay him any mind as his gaze focused solely on you.
"Not so tough now, huh?" With a small smirk embedded on his face, the beastman leaned in close to your face until his lips met yours in a brief kiss. You couldn't help but reciprocate.
"Oh shut it . . . You just got lucky." You smiled in content after he pulled away, entangling one of your hands in Leona's hair and petting the base of his ears (he would never admit it but the action always brought him comfort). You submitted your other hand to the small kitten who was still trying to defend whatever was left of your honour, melting at how quickly he gave up fighting Leona and settling his small head in your palm instead.
"Oi, hands on me . . . " Your lover's voice came out hushed as he placed his head in the crook of your neck, silently nuzzling his nose against it as a sign of affection.
"You need to learn to share honey." You pecked the crown of Leona's head with a small, playful eyeroll.
"Like hell I will. I'm not letting that cat steal your attention away when it should be on me anyways."
"I didn't know you were that jealous of him."
"I ain't jealous of some stupid cat." You quirked your eyebrow at the response; the cat meowed as if it were mocking Leona. The beastman simply growled back. This was really turning into something straight out of a comedy show.

It took me long to choose characters but I've ended with Elyon, Orube and Yazoo (from FFVII). First, Elyon.
I like her shaggy hairstyle in cartoon a lot! It is a reason for Kane/Phobos to has his hair so wild! But in a comic book her silhouette is much closer to Weira and they're said to be very look alike, so I've came with a compromise between comic and cartoon versions. Her iconic sweater is a noticeable detail too, plus it's purple and purple always gives a magical and mystique vibe.
I'm not gonna lie: as a kid, I've never been fond of her. As far as I know, most fans say the same as I do: she's too sugary sweet, naive, gullible and never had a chance to kick Phobos's ass. But as she's one of the characters in my fancomic In Breach, I followed my commom approach "You can't have a character in your script and feel a subjective grudge towards them". So I started asking myself why Elyon is acting the way she does. And I've discovered а very interesting fact.
Why she WOULDN'T act the way she does?
She is an ordinary teen girl, not the smartest, not the brightest (when it's not about amazing drawing skills that she share with Hay Lin. I mean, come on!). She isn't the most socially successful, as she mentioned in a cartoon "I'm a teenager without friends" (in rus dub). The ordinary "normal" type. Her only stable relationship is with Cornelia and Alchemy. She's so unnoticed that only Alchemy notified the police that Elyon is missing. And Alchemy is not a teacher, just a classmate. A family has disappeared and literally no one (including neighbors) told to police that lights were off for a long time.
Yes, we see Elyon in a background from time to time and she even says a phrase or two. She's not an outcast type, she hangs with the others BUT every time we see her involved it also involves Cornelia who was most likely the one who invited her. And she's always slightly away from the rest making me think she only does this to mix with her surroundings. We never see her hanging with her own company or even a single friend instead of the main heroes or Alchemy (who's also a Cornelia friend). Or Bryan... but it was a sad and short story. We never see her having a long dialogue unless we know who she really is. It's an arguable point tho as the story is about W.I.T.C.H girls and script writers probably were trying to keep a secret of her true nature.
But when Cedric appears! Unlike her furtive parents that always withhold something and Cornelia who's all about herself (with all the respect to Cornelia), Cedric just... listens to her. He shows compassion, non-judgmental approach and sound sincere. With him Elyon feel being special. Not to mention that Cornelia has betrayed her for Will (we know the reason behind it but Ely doesn't).
And then! Bang! Suddenly Elyon becomes THE special. The only one! She's like Harry Potter who got a letter from Hogwarts, like issekai character, the fucking King Arthur, THE CHOSEN ONE! Common people of Meridian are praying on her, servants are ready to perform any caprice, Miranda is being nice and ready to play with her, her older brother is such a sweet and cheerful person who would do just anything for her. She's like Coraline who found the other mother. And this case is actually so good that it should be in a video "How and why people fall for abusive relationship or being lured into a sect".
The only thing she can be accused is being too gullible but she acts as a person who grasps any straw. Who would you choose? Parents who lied to you for your whole life? Fake friends who replaced you with a new girl.
We can go deeper here. Remember the first scene with Elyon in a comic book? She got a low grade and instead of supporting her, her "friends" invent a humiliating punishment to hit on a stranger. Although they know she's quite shy! What a nice company we have here, don't we?
Don't get me wrong, teenagers may show low empathy due to their age. Cornelia isn't a bad person too. She's the most loyal friend one might only dream of! Both in a comic book and cartoon she stays at Elyon's side and refuse the idea of her friend being evil. Although Elyon did a lot in a comic book to be judged. Cornelia risks her own life to get to her. BUT she's still quite an narcissist type. Such people attract very specific friends: those who always stay in their shadow, never a threat or a competitor. You can see others confronting her in either passive-aggressive form or trying to show her a place like Irma does. But Elyon was with Cornelia since they were small kids. I have a theory that Elyon actually wins from it too: she seem very "normal" by hanging with a popular friend who would invite her to every party. And literally no one can say no to Cornelia, right? And Elyon seem present in the society. And at the same time she actually isn't.
So here's the whole picture: Elyon isn't a scapegoat outcast like Martin, she isn't labeled as "odd" like Hay Lin. BUT she's not a successful either. She's a blank one, that average conformal person that does their best to suit "normal" standarts. She's short on social contacts, she's breadcrumbed by Cornelia and has no friends outside her pack. As we remember, Alchemy is also Cornelia's friend. Both Browns are hideous, insanely quiet people who made a very, very isolated, incapsulated family to the point that no one even notices their absence. They do their best to lay low and they teach Elyon to act the same way (we know why, but it's quite unhealthy thing you know). I bet Eleanor is quite unhappy with Ely's marks, but I'm not sure if she's strict about it. She's been shown as a good parent in both comic and cartoon. Although the way Elyon agreed to throw them in prison in a comic so easily is something that keep my brain buzzing.
Sooo my idea is that her reliance problems has started long before the cartoon events. Her social contacts never worked properly to begin with and that's why Cedric got her so easily. Not to mention his speech skills. Elyon was a quiet, shady kid with a certain tendency for escapism. Drawing on her level is quite a specific trait that requires a lot of time spend alone and some wild imagination. I think while she never shows this in a cartoon and probably suppressed it, she was really envy of Cornelia, Irma, Hay Lin and even Taranee having huge and nice families, lots of friends and being very bright people. While she's... on the sidelines. There's a thick wall of white lies between her and her parents. She's... no one. Only Cedric shown her what being heard and important is.
Although all the above is cool, it makes her a bit bland to my personal taste. So in my AU called In Breach I given her a bit salt and spice by returning her some of her comic characteristics. I see her as a stalker type, very jealous and vengeful, but too afraid of showing aggression and staring a feud. She would write some really nasty fanfiction about her foes and spread rumors, make ugly caricature on Grumper sisters. Might even play a nasty prank on someone if she can get away unnoticed. But nothing violent, just humiliating.
So, imagine this lost envious girl stumbling across another narcissist. Different from Cornelia, quite a violent type. The one who seem to be afraid of no one. Like, literally not a single person can tell him what to do - even the police (on a first glance. In reality, he's afraid of jail as fuck). The one who questions the moral, the normality, the good and evil. AND telling her this is what she can and should be. WELL WELL WELL WHO COULD THAT BE)
Also, a song that must be a soundtrack for her kicking Phobos's butt in a cartoon.

Sorry for being a nuisance 🥰 I know you're probably getting waaaay to much of these (but you're doing such an awesome job with them 😍) and may be tired of fake banter...
but fake banter for Fenris and the Iron Bull, please? 🙏
And/Or
more banter for Fenris and Dorian, please, please, please? 🥺🥺🥺
Hello! I picked Bull and Fenris for this. It's pretty goofy since my last banter was so heavy. Also it requires a disclaimer:
Look. Sometimes. These don't go in the direction I expect. I lose control and have no choice but to write down whatever it is the blorbos want to say. I'm absolving myself of any and all responsibility here. Enjoy
____
Fenris: Is there something you want, Qunari?
Iron Bull: You've got a reputation with the Vints. The things they say about the Blue Wraith... it's good to meet you.
(Third Party Member Dependant)
Dorian: Wait... Bull, are you a fan?
Blackwall: I think the man's in love!
Cole: He likes watching the blood drip to the grass. He feels warm when it matches the beat.
Solas: Tread carefully Iron Bull, our guest’s abilities can be unpredictable.
Cassandra: You are aware this is a friend of the Champion, yes?
Sera: Uh-oh. Watch out glowy-man!
Vivienne: Oh dear, I do believe the Wraith has added another heart to his collection.
Varric: Hate to tell you Tiny, but you've got loads of competition for that one.
Iron Bull: What? Not every day you meet a guy who can rip the beating heart out of a man’s chest with his bare hands. Getting to see it up close is nice.
Fenris: That's... a unique response.
____
Iron Bull: Hey, Fenris?
Fenris: Yes, Qunari?
Iron Bull: Ben-Hassrath. Get it right.
Fenris: No.
Iron Bull: Uh- okay- You looking for work after this gig? Chargers could use a guy like you.
Fenris: You’d like me to join your mercenaries?
Iron Bull: We’d give you steady work. Good coin. Good drinks. The chance to stick your hands wherever you want.
Fenris: Tempting. I’m afraid I have my own uses for my talents.
Iron Bull: Oh yeah, I bet.
Fenris: What?
Iron Bull: What?
____
Iron Bull: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever ripped out of a guy?
Fenris: What answer are you expecting?
Iron Bull: A second heart? Some crazy blood crystal? Oh! A man eats his twin in the womb, never knows it, and then the last thing he sees is you rip it out of him!
Fenris: I once grabbed a man’s stomach by mistake. It was unpleasant.
Iron Bull: You're not as fun as I thought you’d be.
Fenris: I weep to hear it.
____
Iron Bull: You stand taller every time we pass someone who looks noble.
Fenris: Are you about to accuse me of reflexive respect shown to those in power?
Iron Bull: Oh, I think it's reflexive. I don't think it's respect.
Fenris: What is it then?
Iron Bull: Respect would be standing so they feel important, careful you don't stare too long at the face. You look straight at them. Move your shoulders in a way that makes you look big. You let them know one step too close, and they won't get to make a step back.
Fenris: I see. Teth a, Qunari.
Iron Bull: That's all I do, Wraith.
____
Iron Bull: Hate to say it boss, but all these demons might make you the worst contract we've ever had.
Fenris: I once faced a demon of pure magic and stone, lost in the pits of a forgotten dwarven thaig.
Iron Bull: Wait… really?
Fenris: We had been in the Deep Roads for a week. After being deliberately trapped and left to rot.
Iron Bull: I can’t tell if you’re joking.
Fenris: By the man who hired us.
Iron Bull: Ah, now I believe you. Shitty clients? Nothing’s impossible.
____
Iron Bull: (Groans)
Fenris: Sore?
Iron Bull: Anyone ever tell you you're heavier than you look?
Fenris: Yes. Stronger too.
Iron Bull: That part's not a problem
Inquisitor: Everything alright, Bull?
Iron Bull: Fine boss. We were just blowing off a little steam. Doing some sparring.
Inquisitor: What kind of sparring put you in this condition?
Iron Bull: My kind.
Fenris: Am I still less fun than you thought?
Iron Bull: Can't tell by just one session, Wraith.
Fenris: Then I'll have to see you tonight, Qunari.
Inquisitor: I... Please don't break anything.
Iron Bull: No promises, boss.

Final thoughts on the Wuji candy
Thanks to everyone who wrote in with asks, and also those who shared their thoughts in the comments of my post about the Wuji recording comic.
Rather than answer a bunch of asks about this and make this topic the dominant thing on my blog for the next few days, I'm just going to respond to everything in one post. Sorry to anyone who is disappointed they didn't get a direct reply.
Fake, fan fiction, CPN.
I understand people on both sides of the fence - those who are really excited about the candy and believe it was shared in good faith, and those who have concerns about it. I personally think this candy is probably totally fine, and maybe even a positive thing given how it's changed the conversation in the fandom and cheered a lot of people up, but I do have some mixed feelings and I think it's legitimate to have reservations about the whole thing.
Everyone gets to form their own opinions. Hopefully we can all respect each other and not get too argumentative over it.
There are valid perspectives on both sides:
Negative
The thing that bothered me the most about this candy is that it violates the central turtle precept that 'everything is fake'. She did handle things somewhat carefully, but I found it jarring and a bit scandalous to have someone connected to them do something so brazen without couching it in 'fake'.
She didn't just confirm they were holding hands, she heavily implied a romantic connection between the two of them. She talked about love and romance and cast herself as a turtle. While it's not directly outing them or a direct threat, I can totally understand why some people are concerned about a real-life connection of theirs talking like that so openly (for reasons I explained in the first point above).
The NDA comment had me raising my eyebrows, and I can see I wasn't alone in that. A lot of people expressed that as the main issue they had with it. And it raises so many questions. The NDA for The Untamed expired long ago - is this a personal NDA that has expired, enabling her to share? Was the NDA the only thing holding her back from sharing this type of thing? She promised more candy in the future. Should we be worried about what else she might share? Should we be worried about other associates whose NDAs expire (and might perhaps be less well-intended toward them)? Are other associates of theirs going to start speaking openly about their relationship? All of these questions are totally understandable. I personally lean toward thinking she was probably just trying to deflect any potential criticism about privacy, but I definitely felt weird about the way she phrased it.
Posting it openly on her social media made her a central part of the story, when the focus of candy like this should be on GG and DD. This was also a major concern for some people. I think this one can be argued both ways. I mean, it can be said that by making it focused around her she prevented it from being too broadly connected to GG and DD.
We didn't need any conformation. The emoji was enough. Several people expressed this feeling, and I tend to agree.
A lot of people have stated they feel she's attention-seeking, and that the posts were exploitative. I think she opens herself up to those accusations/concerns by making these public posts/comments, but so does anyone who is connected with them who discusses them in any way. Even someone wishing them a birthday greeting or something gets those accusations. Unfortunately being massively famous makes people assume bad motives. The covid heart candy post had similar accusations against it. This is just the way these things go.
Positive
It is a sweet candy.
At least at face value, she appears to really care about GG and DD and to be someone who is excited about them as a couple. She has something of a track record of this from way back in 2018/19, so this isn't a put-on thing just for this moment. She has consistently expressed interest in and excitement about them.
Whether coincidentally or not, it was well-timed to reassure and energize turtles at a time when people were feeling low about the whole anti video from last week. We were expecting a candy after that, and it looks like we got one - even if it was from an unexpected source. It has successfully changed the conversation and turned things around quite a bit, and that might be intentional.
The characteristics of this video/situation appear to be strikingly effective at downplaying the credibility of the anti video from last week. The anti video was filmed surreptitiously, while this one was openly and legally taken with GG and DD's full knowledge. No legitimate witness has corroborated the malicious impression that there was anything special going on between GG and the other subject in the anti video, meanwhile a known public figure has gone on the record with this video to say that GG and DD were on good terms and held hands.
Cheng Yi and the whole handholding thing went to the top of the entertainment hot search, in the top two positions. Those hot searches were left up, yet the one about the anti video was pushed down (aka GG and his team likely paid to have the anti video hot search suppressed, yet allowed these Wuji ones to remain). While neither of the hot searches would necessarily be associated with GG and DD in most people's minds (they don't mention their names or fandom names), it's hard to imagine that similar searches connected to that anti video would have been left up.
Tumblr media
As I said in the previous discussion, there is a lot of plausible deniability baked into this situation. GG and DD were singing a song for the soundtrack of a series they shot together. It was years ago. Even if video footage of them holding hands during recording was released, I'm not sure that it would have much impact outside the circles who already care about this type of thing. Most people would likely dismiss it as fan service or two guys joking around. The whole thing strikes me as pretty harmless.
It's not like GG and DD have really been hiding their relationship anyway.
GG and DD are under more scrutiny than ever (as are all prominent people in China), and with projects set to come out they are at less liberty to take risks. I think that it's possible we will see more candy from people in their entertainment circle, rather than directly from GG and DD themselves.
I am not saying this candy was something GG and DD personally sanctioned (it's possible, of course, but we'll never know), I'm saying that given the climate, there are likely people closer to them who understand the limitations GG and DD are under right now and who will want to reassure turtles when they are upset.
I believe that GG and DD care about - and need - turtles. I've talked about that a lot in the past, here's just one example. I don't think GG and DD, nor the people who care about them, will stand by and let turtles be attacked or heartbroken in ways that could threaten the fandom. Look at OOL airing, which ended up being a huge candy dump from GG.
They're looking out for us just as we're looking out for them. That is how I see it. Others might disagree, but that's my perspective on it.
Anyway, thanks again for being so engaged with this topic. The discussions and perspectives have been interesting. For now I'm going to not take any more asks about this unless there is new information or a perspective that substantially adds to or shifts the conversation in some way.
Edit: More on fan perceptions here.

Fucking WayV and Lucas bro
IS BRO IN THE GROUP OR NOT- let's discuss ft. @ireneanon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So...
We've had idols be kicked out of groups from bullying, S/A, drug, dui scandals and such, do i believe this is probably bs made up from these women? 50/50.
I only say that because so many netizens have lied in the past to get those 15 seconds of fame and to yk obviously gain attention or the payment from the lawsuits and stuff IF they win.
However if we do have solid evidence (which I'll be digging into) that's a different story. People can easily edit (like bitch I'm scared) and make fake shit on some type of website or whatnot, the Photoshop is starting to be a new concern of mine..
MOVING ON THO- as much as I know about this situation and I'm neither SM or Lucas, I don't know how to feel about it or whether this is some type of bullshit.
Tumblr media
Would you rather feel the need to make a situation like this private and work it out IN PRIVATE? Knowing netizens, that's not an option here so what are we working with
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(photo doesn't belong to me, credits to the owner)
When I searched for the proof of these netizens' accusations, nothing really showed up, if someone finds something lmk cause I'm lost asf;
So, the girlies are mad, thinks SM is making him apologize- which- does happen, but I also think he could have apologized because he was scared of his rep and career, or wanted to get over it cause maybe it was bs.
There was no evidence of Lucas being in NCT's recent merch, his name, face, anything of Lucas' brand not found present whatsoever, which makes me like 70% sure that bro is not coming back or won't be back for a LONG time, talking the 'blackpink hiatus aesthetic' gone.
Like, yeah some members won't show up in recent merch in a hiatus, but very unlikely; they are still apart of said group. Plus if I'm not wrong this was from something like a season's greetings or some shit so album, understandable, but season's greetings? Yeah you're most likely gone.
Also speaking on the fact that fans haven't heard from him or haven't heard the words SM or NCT come out of his mouth since, I mean you could just be trying to stay low but bro is one of the most popular NCT members so I doubt anyone is gonna let him get a break. On top of that SM not even mentioning his name as much or at all anymore says a lot, so I'm saying that most likely he's going to be expelled or go on an indefinite hiatus.
So... Yeah I don't think he's going to be here anymore, if he is good for him, have fun with that but that's all I'm like processing right now. And if he does come back I will most likely be calling BS on the netizens' part if we see no evidence that he has committed these things, after all it says accusations.
Just, idk idk idk

Didnt dream confirm that the insta dms in which he gave out his private snapchat were true? Like regardless of whether there even was a snapchat conversation, that's kinda sketchy to me & he should definitely stop doing that in the future. Whatever his intention was I'd definitely take it as an "oh he wants to sext & send nudes" thing and I really dont thing im the only one. He already has a public snap where he sends his random photos and hes probably not face revealing to some rando so...
To clarify, Dream's statement on the matter was that "he believes the instagram dms are real". This statement was made less than 6 hours (edit with correction, he had less than 6 hrs not 10) after the relevant allegations were released, and he was trying to respond to two different situations, all while (according to his report) he had a very limited amount of time to respond. Having read over it a few times, he clearly had some confusion between the allegations, and I'm doubtful he had time to fact check everything. God knows it took me several hours to get everything even kind of in order.
I'm personally not taking that as 100% confirmation that the instagram dms are real and unaltered in any manner. We've already seen via the prior video on tik tok that Amanda removed at least 3 of her own messages at some point prior to posting her accusation. While I've heard some people say that they remove instagram dms regularly, and I don't think that instantly makes her claims invalid or anything, I do think it raises question about information that could've been omitted. Omission is a form of alteration, even if it's not done with intent to change the message. I also haven't seen/haven't been able to find any record of what her instagram profile was/may've said at the time, which could add further context to the conversation (if she was listing herself as older and if her account was a fan account vs a cc style account would be very relevant to the conversation at hand. I haven't seen that information made public, but if someone else has it please feel free to send it to me! (only if it was made public by her though, I do not want to engage in anything that was doxxed)).
This is part of why I've said that I want clarification on the matter from Dream before I cast any judgement. I'm not saying the instagram dms are fake, I believe the majority of them are probably real, but I also don't want to take them as 100% confirmed and unaltered when we know some amount of unaddressed alteration did occur. That's part of my issue with casting judgement on them.
Putting that aside, having read through the entire instagram conversation, I can kinda of see how Dream might've ended up offering a snapchat he uses for dming people (I believe, although do not quote me on this, he's said he likes to use snapchat for communication). Amanda had been asking him for advice on becoming a streamer, she'd been asking to play games with him, she'd been talking about being lonely, and it'd been well over a year since she'd mentioned/talked about being a fan prior to getting his snapchat. That may've been the start of their interactions, but it didn't color them very much. In the actual lead up to exchanging information, the two of them had started talking about music which is the first point where Dream actually seemed to show interest in the conversation.
If Dream was genuinely interested in talking to her, or felt bad for her and wanted to cheer her up, I could see him offering his snapchat to be able to talk to her on a platform he actually uses regularly. Particularly if he thought/was seeing her more as a small streamer/cc than a fan.
I don't think it's fair to assume that if he did offer her his private snapchat, that his intent was sexual/send nudes. I think it's important to add the context of Dream's social media's here. Any of his public platforms are going to be totally flooded, and responding to dms is going to be very difficult. God knows his discord is similarly overwhelmed. He's not going to be giving out his phone number to someone he doesn't know. Having a private snapchat to be able to talk to people who he doesn't know but may want to get to know isn't actually particularly unreasonable.
Now, let me be clear, I still think that this would be fucking stupid. If a friend of mine was a famous cc and did that, I'd probably give them a Look and be like "dude". I would agree he should be more careful about this in the future. But I don't think that it would prove malicious intent or is inherently predatory. Particularly given the context that is still missing from the situation (prior messages that may've been removed, her profile at the time).
As a rule, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and not assume malicious intent where none has been proven. I want to give that to both parties in this situation, which is why I'm waiting for clarified statements about what both parties contend as fact, and what evidence they actually have of stuff occurring. Again, hopefully reviewed by lawyers and properly documented.

*bursts into your inbox and chooses violence* fandom/fanfic asks 15: Fandom you find annoying and 22: Least favorite fic trope
Vodka woke up and said "Let's get Crow cancelled today" lmaoooo. No, thank you, I'm a shady bitch and we all know it. 15. Fandom you find annoying I'm sorry folks, it really does either have to be ST or OFMD. It's really a chicken or the egg situation for both of them, like did I not enjoy them first and then they both became inescapably popular which only fueled my preexisting dislike or did they become huge and taint a formerly neutral opinion? I think with the latter it's probably deeply fueled by personally spite since I find Black Sails to be the first and wildly better gay pirate show and I just kind of thought OFMD was... underwhelming in comparison. The former I actually liked for a season or two and then they just decided to have essentially the same plot beats for four seasons and I was like "wow this is boring!" I tend to just really dislike stuff centering on high school aged shenanigans as is, and then I was subjected to insane and rancid discourse on my dash every day once S4 came out and I was done lol. Of course if you are reading this and thinking "Crow must personally hate ME" then I encourage you to go outside and take some long breaths because it's literally not that deep and people can find your interests irritating without it having anything to do with you. People should do what makes them happy and I have both the tags/popular ship names blocked as best I can. Don't let my cranky ass stop you. 22. Least favorite fic trope Misogynist portrayals of women in m/m pairing fics! What the hell and fuck!!! It's always written off/defended by the worst people as somehow just not big of a deal because the female character is obviously a terrible person in canon (she is almost always at worst on par with the fan favorite male characters) or you'll get attacked for pointing it out because they just want "representation" and obviously you are a nasty heterosexual for simply pointing out that there are better ways to make your pairing happen than demonizing/killing off/torturing female characters. (For the love of God!!! Polyamory!!! For a start!!!) Look, I know these are fake people and they don't need to be defended and what someone writes is not necessarily what they condone IRL but some stuff just reeks of deep rooted issues and if your reaction to being questioned on it is to start hurling serious accusations and insults.... idk man it's not a good look! Can you tell I have been on the receiving end of this discourse a few too many times lmao.

Ice's death in tgm left me in a weird place mentally too. I have zero complaints with the movie itself. Its my own feelings Im trying to untangle - to see ice die from the thing that's made val so sick. It was a respectful send off for the character but it also makes me feel some kind of way considering val's situation. I also wanted to ask you if you dont mind since youve been a val fan longer, what according to you are the most striking things youve observed about him?
I understand completely. It's ... I don't know, maybe it was cathartic for him. I wonder what Jack and Mercedes felt, fake attending their own father's funeral after he fake dies from the thing that actually made him so sick and has completely altered his life ... Who knows, maybe they're all more emotionally well-adjust than we are.
Oh, Val. Come with me, I have a feeling this is going to be a long one.
The Artist
First off: I believe Val Kilmer is the most underrated actor of his generation. And I'm not alone in thinking that. While doing research for my thesis, I came across a number of people in the industry who describe him exactly that way. I also read an extremely unkind article that posited him as "the failed Tom Cruise," and in addition to just being kind of ugly, it kind of misses the point of Val altogether. Val Kilmer never wanted to be a movie star. Val wanted to be an actor. From his days at Juilliard and decades after that, Val considered acting to be a serious art, and what he wanted as a professional was to explore that art and challenge himself. He wanted to do Hamlet. (And he did, in 1988 at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. But that was his goal since he was a teenager, when he started pursuing acting formally.)
Tumblr media
Some people he has worked with have called him difficult, but at the center of these accusations, I read Val trying to do his job well. The directors of Top Secret!, Val's first film role, complained that he asked them for more direction, and that, "this really isn't that kind of movie." Val was 23 years old. He had just graduated from Juilliard a few years earlier. He was doing what he was taught to do, and he was trying to do it well. As an actor, expecting a director to direct you seems ... like what their job is? IDK. In the '80s and '90s, he got cast in some leading man type roles because he looks like that, but if you look at his filmography, he's also choosing smaller, meatier or more complicated roles, or roles that let him work with people he wanted to work with. At the same time as he was playing Batman in the highest grossing movie of 1995, he was shooting Heat because he wanted to work with Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. (When they approached him for the role, they told him they couldn't pay him much above day rate, what can we do to keep you? and he was going to do the movie anyway because he wanted to work with the cast and crew, but he asked, "Can I be on the poster?" and that is an answer to a question that you didn't ask, but that is why Chris Shiherlis is so large on the Heat poster.)
Curious
This is related, but Val has an insatiable curiosity. He is always trying to learn new things, not only about acting, but about other forms of art, about the world around him. There are many stories of Val trying to learn from his colleagues on movie sets; he annoyed Sam Shepherd enough with his questions on the set of Thunderheart that Sam basically told him to fuck off, but he also spent a lot of time speaking to Chief Ted Thin Elk, less about acting and more about his life experience and his experience as an Indigenous person, something Val has a lot of curiosity about because he was told his whole life that his paternal grandmother was full Native, but that was really as much as he'd been told. (I think that probably helped him get into Ray Levoi's shoes, and his performance in that film is one of his subtlest, so much said with expressions or posture or the way he holds the silence... ugh, don't get me started, Ray.)
Tumblr media
And his curiosity has shaped his life and his career. He wanted to explore what he could do with his voice, and eventually found he was able to mimic Jim Morrison's voice so well that members of the band couldn't tell Morrison's tracks from Val's. In The Doors, he sang live on film, take after take. That's ... it's a little insane, in a very Val Kilmer kind of way. When he lost his voice, he started discovering ways he could act without it, and he started new ventures with other kinds of art.
Spiritual / Loving
Val's faith is an important part of his life. I admit to not knowing much about Christian Science, but I have read and heard Val talking about how he understands faith and his relationship with the world, and the word that he uses is Love. He seems to genuinely have an incredible relationship with his children. He's just constantly delighted by them, and he loves them so, so much. And I think that he views the whole world with an open heart, and that he loves more than just his family or his work or his faith: He loves the wonders of nature, and animals, and he loves art and the whole world, really. He has a sense of childlike wonder that is unexpected and refreshing in the hard, cynical world we live in. He finds beauty and fun and hope in so many things. In his memoir, Val quotes his then-wife Joanne Whalley as saying, "You have a crush on everything." And he admits that he does. And you get that sense from him. When I went to meet with him, he was incredibly kind and caring and curious and warm. He didn't have to meet with me. He agreed to for his own reasons. After he greeted me, he asked me why I wrote the book, why him, and when I explained it to him, he seemed genuinely touched. I thanked him for getting me through a rough time in my life, and he took my hand in his and squeezed it, and just inclined his head. This was after he'd gotten sick, but before he got the stoma, so he could speak, but I could tell it was difficult, and I imagine now that it was probably painful. His handler has asked me to bring several copies of the book, and I did, and I had one for Val, which he accepted very graciously, and the rest I was going to give to his handler because she hadn't said what she wanted them for, but she said no, keep those, and Val insisted on signing them all. He had a little vase with a yellow rose in it in his room, and he insisted on signing the vase for me, as well, and giving me both the vase and the rose because, "Women should have flowers." And he made sure we got a picture together, which I hadn't even thought of, because it was just a private meeting, like, in his space, but he wanted to give me that. I'm an empath, and I pick up on people's emotions really, really easily, and at no point did I ever get anything from him that wasn't warm and caring. He had never met me before. He only knew I existed for a few months. But he went out of his way to be kind to me, to make me feel heard and appreciated. That is a rare thing.

Chris - you need to grow some balls! Putting everyone in the same bag being bullies to you and your girls is not fair! Chris needs to stop whining and pretend he is a saint and admit how fake he is! Sorry for the rant but I was his fan since fantastic four came out but after this week I’m out! He is not worth my support. Chris - I want my money back! Before you accused your fans of something look at yourself and people you surrounding yourself. Your girl is not a saint and most of the evidence is true. Plus how disgusting it is realising your own porn on insta! She should apology for that to her followers. //
bec it's PR genius, he doesn't have to say anything. Scott took the chance of his SM absence and that's all I'm sure Chris called him and told him not nice things or he probably doesn't know anything about cause SM break is SM break, you won't go on the net neither for lurking and he said it himself! ffs stop twisting his words or put things in his mouth he has never said and LOOK AT THE FCKING HINTS HE HAS LEFT EVEN BEFORE ENTERING THIS SHITSHOW if fans are too dumb to not pick up on them, it's not his fault.
Excuse me, you seem familiar! "ffs", "genius", using CAPS, "dumb" "fucking hints" "stop", hmm very familiar "writing style"
Secondly, please don't come on my blog and call my anons bad names. You can call anyone anything on "your own blog" I let people express themselves if they are upset.
Also, I believe everything has been planned and Chris knows about everything that takes place in this shitshow. He is very shrewd.

Just a recap of what we do know (links to proof at bottom):
Ever since the little girl started sexually harassing Ted under his pics on Insta and under his tweets people have been telling her or asking her not to do this and to please treat him with respect. Even if her age wasn't in her IG bio months ago it was clear she is very young, and it is definitely clear NOW.
2. How this all 'started'
He was mentioned on Tw multiple times in tweet replies that this girl is a MINOR and that she should stop this. He was active on Twitter liking tweets, the girl had responded to his tweet about the dentist 'I bet you go to lots of wild parties Ted'. He 'liked' this reply, so he saw her commenting suggestively again and showed her he LIKES her reply. It's been clear that him liking or replying to her comments (she commented 'be my munch' months ago and Ted replied 'oh my...') has encouraged her to keep at it, because she never stopped and she has been saying to ppl, 'he thinks I'm funny, he always likes my replies'.
3. After he liked her reply about the wild parties he started to follow her. Mind you, he knew this 15 y/o girl had been posting half naked pics of herself on her public twitter, because he followed her almost right after a couple ppl notified him. Ppl say he doesn't have time to check everything... He is very active on socials, he even liked an older pic by a 22 y/o female fan, proving he def scrolls down on twitter accounts, because he had to scroll down several tweets to get to the pic he liked.
4. People are now saying some proof of DMs someone spread is fake (it was an edit the girl made, we weren't aware this was fake). Okay, that's fair. But let's not get side tracked. The real DMs will never be shared. We do know the girl showed off to her friends on TikTok saying he followed her (which we know is true because we can see it's true) and that he initiated contact by saying 'Why, hello [name redacted]', which sounds flirty and inappropriate. People are calling the girl a liar. But what if she's not lying about him DMing her now that he's following her? Would it be okay then? Even in a non sexual context it's inappropriate for a 57 y/o man to be social media friends with a 15 y/o girl, and we've already established there's a sexual context from her side at least, because it's been documented. Teachers get fired for stuff like this, because of the power imbalance.
5. If you're accused of something like this, what would you do if you were innocent? Would you stay quiet, waiting for it to blow over? Or would you do anything to show you haven't been doing anything illegal? What seems icky to me is that the girl has locked her Tw, so if Ted likes a lewd pic, no one would know. And if there's nothing disturbing or illegal going on, why are her Tw and IG profiles private and has she deleted her entire TikTok acc?
This is not drama, it turned into that because people launched personal attacks, I have been guilty of that as well. I won't anymore because that is not what this is about. This is about a minor being at risk OR a celeb nearly ruining his whole career because he didn't just tell the girl to stop, didn't just block the girl, but instead decided it would be smart to follow her and most probably DM her, initiating contact with a 15 y/o.

The fact that they’re accusing her of posting the video herself and… trying to cancel her for something her friends (we don’t even know if they’re friends) did many years ago is deranged. They clearly weren’t good company but those pictures are obviously old and it’s not HER doing it. She never tweeted anything herself, never said anything offensive. The other video they claim she’s in with her friends doing something racist she’s not even in. But Chris Evans is the one who is being “tricked”. Like what the fuck is going on.
The more I'm online the more I realize people need to log off, get a real life, and find a good doctor cuz obviously they're not ok in the head.
It really makes me laugh when people think they intimately know their favorite actor/actress just because they've been following him/her for years. Like no babe, who you know is the actor not the human being behind the actor façade.
Not to mention the fucking double standard (i.e. misogyny).
When he posted and immediately deleted his nudes on Instagram no one attacked him and accused him of being a publicity-seeking whore. He said sorry it was a mistake and the thing ended there.
Now that Alba got hacked or accidentally (because I refuse to believe an intelligent person would do such a thing not only on purpose, but especially if she's in a relationship with a man with crazy fans) did the same thing, she's a whore doing a publicity stunt who obviously posted/deleted her nudes and then deactivated her account not because her boyfriend (fake or real) got deranged fans who probably targeted her the moment they knew he wasn't single anymore, but to divert the attention from years old posts (from her friends, not even hers) that undoubtedly prove she's a racist.
This kind of mental gymnastics is astounding.
As a woman I would never spontaneously post/delete nudes as a mean to divert the attention from people calling me racist, knowing that once a photo/video is online you'll never get rid of it.

Hello Meera! What led you to become a fan of F1? For me it's quite a funny story actually. I stumbled upon a video of Carlos Sainz walking with a fan and having a conversation in Spanish. Everyone in the comments section was clamoring for a translation. At the time, I had no idea who he was or even about the sport itself, but I decided to translate it as a favor. To my surprise, the comment went viral, with fans thanking and praising me. I didn't pay much attention to it then, just seeing it as a random act of kindness.Fast forward several months, and I found myself gradually getting into the F1 fandom. At that point, I had completely forgotten about the video and my comment, given the passage of time. However, I received a notification about it, and I was shocked to realize that I had unwittingly become a part of the fandom that I had indirectly contributed to with my translation. 🤣
HII!!! Firstly, I find your story hilarious and it brings up something I always think about whenever I become obsessed with something. I alway wonder how many times have I seen this thing that I'm a fan of now before I even knew it existed i.e. Lewis Hamilton being a voice in Cars 2 and 3. So yeah, I love that it came around full circle. 😁💖
For me, it was Drive to Survive. 🤷🏿‍♀️ My mom introduced me to it because her coworkers suggested it and she went and binged watched the whole thing and me and my dad thought she was crazy and then I went and watched it and it was game over. Daniel, Charles, and Pierre, in that order, were the three that hooked me in because I was like "I'll watch anything with hot men." And then came Lando and Lewis (I had a George moment 😬). So initially it was just the fact that everyone was hot.
And then came Mick and his dad and this opened the floodgates for my interest in the history of F1. I watched Schumacher, Senna, Grand Prix (1966), The Quick and the Dead, Rush, and any Top Gear episode with either Daniel, Michael Schumacher, Lewis, or Jenson Button in like the span of a month. (A weird mindset I have is when I become a fan of something is that I have to know as much as I can so I can't be accused of being a fake fan/not knowing what I'm talking about😵‍💫).
Anyway, from there it was just the sport in general that was intriguing and knowing the technical stuff, witnessing my first "silly season". This is actually the first full F1 season I've followed. I became a fan last summer. Before last June, I wouldn't have known who drove what for when. 😂
So yeah, that's me. I probably sound even crazier than I did before. 💖 The key take away: Hot men driving fast vroom car made my brain go brrrrrr 😵‍💫😊.
This was a great frickin question! Made me really have to think about how I got to this point. 😘

One of the most frustrating fandom trends that I've seen over and over in just about every fandom I have been in is people seeming to view characters as threats to their favorite characters, ships, or the perception of the show itself and therefore deciding that no one should like the character and going out of their way to read the character's every action as evil and intended maliciously. This is also usually paired with doing whatever they can to put the actions of the characters or ships they do like in a favorable spin and getting angry at even the knowledge that there are people out there with a different opinion. This happens all the time and it's so annoying. I'll see it in fandoms I'm literally not even part of lol.
People ship Character A and Character B together, but Character B has had romantic moments with Character C? No worries! They can just find a way to twist all of Character C's actions into something ill intended and harmful even if it makes no sense and goes against canon, insist that Character B actually dislikes Character C or was just tricked into it, repeat over and over that Character C and Character B would be horrible for each other, and then say that anyone who ships Character C with Character B is ignoring Character B's 'choice' or is an abuse apologist or something. Oh, and don't forget that they can excuse and defend anything bad that Character A ever did, but if you so much as condemn the bad thing Character C did but headcanon that it never happened, you're disregarding canon, hate the writers, and people lie about you and say that you like that the bad thing happened.
People really like Character A, but Character A and Character B have a history and Character A did something wrong to Character B or did something wrong and was called out by Character B? No worries! They can just find a way to 'explain' how Character A never even did that thing or any other even sort of vaguely bad thing despite the fact that it's canon that they did, because they can just say that people were biased, or misremembering! They can just say 'Character A wouldn't do that,' and accuse you of not knowing canon or of hating Character A or of being a toxic hatedom fake critic making up lies. And if Character B seems to have ever done something good, they can just say they were pretending because they're evil and were just trying to use people. And then obviously, if you like Character B - even if you acknowledge their flaws and mistakes - then you're an evil apologist who deserves to be harassed. And you can point out that other characters they like do the same things they condemn as completely evil in Character B and use as reasons why no one should like Character B, but you're told that that person actually meant well and Character B is just clearly too badly intentioned at all times.
People really a show, but some people are criticizing the handling of Character A and saying their arc was bad, so because that character is now a threat to the show, they'll act like everyone who likes them is immoral, despite the fact that they have nothing to say about the fans of terrible evil villains - sometimes they'll even defend terrible evil villains in order to try and make Character A look worse. They decide to start out and out attacking people who like Character A, they decide everyone who likes Character A must secretly not only love every action the character was written to take, but must also probably be secretly bad in tones of others that they can't prove at all, so that they can defend how much they hate them. Character A gets put on a blacklist where either you talk about how much they're a horrible awful piece of crap every time they come up, or you're not even allowed to be considered part of the fandom anymore. People will just make up whatever they can about Character A in order to defend the writing, and take it as a personal slight towards the writers and/or themselves if you so much as say that you think they could be handled better.
It really reads as insecurity. It reads as them not being able to understand that the character does not exist and them having fans is not actually hurting the other character or ship or the whole show. People liking a character or ship or disliking aspects of how a character was handled isn't hurting other people's blorbos, or 'ruining the experience' and it isn't automatically bashing of the character, ship, or show they like either. There's so much defensiveness, and I honestly think part of it comes from a place of not wanting to admit that the character they like, the ship they like, or the show they like has flaws, or is not just officially The Best. They act like seeing opinions they don't agree with or facts they don't like about what's actually canon is going to prevent them from liking the character or ship or show they like. They act like they have to fight back against personal slights to themselves, or have to fight for the honor of fictional people who don't exist.
To be honest, I feel like if people need everyone to like the character, ship, or show they like and can only ever hear good things about them and need to only hear bad things about any character that poses the slightest threat to them... Then they're not mature enough to consume media. And they actually legitimately might not like the character or ship or show as much as they want to like the character or ship or show, because when I at least actually like something, I can hear criticism or bashing - even if I don't agree with it - without it 'ruining it' for me and without feeling the need to hate on other characters in order to fuel me. I like Spider-Man, I don't need to hate on Harry Osborn or Gwen Stacey's dad for threatening Peter's happiness, and I don't have to make it my business to try to convince everyone they must hate Harry Osborn or are secretly a murder apologist. I love the ship between Merlin and Arthur, but you won't see me acting like Gwen is some stupid jerk Arthur probably never liked in order to convince myself and others that the ship I like is good. I like Tangled the Series, but I'm not going to wage wars against fans of Cassandra because the way that she was handled puts the show runners in a bad light. Because I can see criticism without it making me insecure. The defensiveness in fandoms that leads to picking some characters and deciding that no one should be allowed to like them is off the charts and I am so sick of seeing it.

Thoughts on some stuff I've posted earlier
I feel a bit bad for the "discourse" post I posted (I don't think it was discourse, I didn't want to start a fight or anything) because I do feel unsure about my stance on the situation. I get it, discourse sucks. I hate it too, but the accusations were too big, and my dumbass thought it was my duty as a human being to post my take on it. If you haven't seen it, it was about the antisemitism in the Owl House and the fandom. The only real evidence was some old concept art of Harpy Eda, a tumblr post about Tiny Nose, and how the fandom reacted to Belos being compared to a nazi. I didn't see much discussion on the concept art. I only found a few threads about Belos. Now, since Belos is a villain, I do not think it is antisemitic to have him do bad things like genocide, since he is obviously evil. Now, some fans reacted by denying that he had any similarity to the nazis and instead talked about how white queer people suffered under fascism. It is true that other genocides have happened throughout history, and that queer people were killed during the holocaust, but taking the discussion away from Jewish people is a bit scummy. So that proves that Belos being a bad guy isn't bad, but the concept art was still an issue for me. I kept thinking about it, wondering if it meant I'm a bad person for liking this show. Nobody was talking about it, except maybe the youtuber Harriyanna Hook, who doesn't even like the Owl House (she's still cool, though. Very well educated). There is a possibility that it was a mistake, and that nobody noticed the issue with it until later, thus, it was scrapped. It could've been a product of internalized antisemitism, due to how insidious bigotry is in our society. I wish Dana could issue a statement about the whole thing, but I doubt anyone will anytime soon. Another thing I noticed was how divided Jewish fans were. I am not Jewish, so I wanted to get a correct perspective on the issue by seeing what Jewish fans had to say. Most authors of the Twitter threads I found were Jewish, but so were most of the critics of the threads. This left me confused. One side felt the discourse was being unjustly ignored and the other felt that fake woke teens were using their community's issues for their own gain. I can't exactly form my own opinion, since I don't have the experience required.
Then there was Tiny Nose. Tiny Nose is based off of Dana herself, so I doubt the design had malintent behind it. I still find it odd she was spouting conspiracy theories in the first episode, but usually Jewish people are the victims of conspiracy theories. Still, it is a bit odd.
Overall, I feel bad for liking the show now. I know it's just my anxiety making me obsess over this subject in order to make me feel bad, but I feel a need to find out the truth. I felt this show was a perfect thing, since as a bisexual girl, I felt seen by it. I want others to feel the same.
Alas, I'm probably going to be obsessing over this for days now. Let me know your takes on the situation because I am stumped. I did as much research as I can, and I still got nothing.
