What I think is what we like to see in yizhan and reconstruct from crumbs, is the presence of all the aspects-to-be-celebrated in their relationship.

in this post I'll talk about the lyrical and the spark

The lyrical. For me it is the facet of relationships that happens when the other person sees you, really sees you as a unique configuration of your qualities, talents, weaknesses, habits, idiosyncrasies, dreams, skills, past experiences, character strengths and other stuff — and as something larger, unnameable, otherworldly (sees your soul?) — and finds this configuration cute, lovely and beautiful, in all its oddity and "disheveledness". Even when we cannot find our own configuration cute or beautiful at all. When the other person considers you to be some sort of mysterious masterpiece, to which one wants to be near to and which one wants to look it as much as possible, because there is always something else one can see that adds to the loveliness and beauty of the configuration, there is no end to the discovery. When the person understands that your presence adds to his/her existence a lot of beauty and joy, and in those nooks and crannies of their soul where there had been darkness and emptiness, light appears — as a miracle — and a lot of life is discovered again. When your name sings in his/her heart, and the person wants you to know it. S/he wants you to know that there is someone in this world for whom your existence is the node of everything worth living for. And the person feels the longing to add more beauty to that node of beauty — that is why there are flowers, and beautiful things, and poetry, and music, I can go on for a long time :)

It is about the lyrical mood that takes over the inner world of the person, — and spills over in the outer world. When you start flying a little bit when you walk, dancing a little bit when you are sitting or standing in a queue, singing (everywhere), reciting poetry (suddenly) :) When the world comes to life around you and feels brighter, more transparent, more spacious.

And of course you want confirmation that for the person who for you is the node of beauty, you are the node of beauty, too. The confirmation that when you put on some quirky lyrical slightly crazy music, that has become for you somehow linked to your special person, it turns out that this music has been playing for some time in the person's head (and quite loudly), and for him/her it is linked to you.

And it is at the same time like a special secret language, a code for the two, which does not need explanation between you, and at the same time it is something you feel like shouting about from the roofs.

(for many people the lyrical and the spark are glued together, but I'd rather unglue them, at least for the purposes of meditation and reflection :)

The spark, in its purest and simplest form, is what happens, for example, when a stranger passes by you on the street, and you find yourself turning around to look at him/her, unwillingly, because during that split second the scent of this person told your body: "This one is a good match!" And suddenly you are much more aware of your own vitality, of the fact that you are, essentially, an animal, in the best sense of the word, a primitive and not-thinking one (also in the best sense of the word), hungry, greedy and impatient. And very, very much alive. Wanting — to expand oneself and possess the world, as far as you can reach, grab and pull it to yourself. Frolicsome, curious and bold.

The spark is the moment when we are in touch with the beast that is (part of) us, with our own daemon (or one of them). And being on friendly terms with the daemon is what creates (or is) eudemonia — one of the forms of happiness. It is the moment when the body — your own body and the body of the other — turns into a musical instrument and you want, you long, you desire to play the music.

And if it is not just a moment, but a whole space — the space when being near the person makes you entranced; when lassitude, longing and sensuality come to the forefront; when you — a reasonable, cultured, reflexive being — watch in amazement how you are pulled, like by a magnet, beyond your own free will; when your curiosity makes you re-live in your imagination, again and again, as in slow motion, the anticipated moments of revealing, of knowing the secrets, the ephemera, the expressions of passion, evanescent, like a sound, inexpressible with words, that what is — or may be — existing only in the duet with you and only with you will remain.

B.ai Liu!!!!! Brainrotting abt him still so here's the bio!!!

Bai Liu is a creation and a version of the evil god in the 658th timeline of the universe, part of an ongoing "game" between the evil god and the prophet for which the fate of the world is at stake, but he never knew himself as such. Instead, he grew up in an orphanage as a regular person, not unlike anyone else. From a young age, he seemed to be naturally inclined toward darker interests (horror stories, etc.) and exhibited a blurred sense of morality, analytically inclined toward gain. As a result, the teachers and the children at the orphanage dislike, fear and isolate him. He appears unaffected by this as a child and acts equally distantly - sitting or reading by himself and breezily handling the teachers and other students frequently making trouble for him.

He makes friends with Xie Ta, a new resident of the orphanage and another being created by the evil god, at the age of fourteen. They read horror stories together and spend a lot of time together, finding comfort and solidarity in each other as outcasts. These two originally "soulless" creations of the evil god - cultivate from each other and in each other, souls. Xie Ta dies accidentally the same year when the principle punishes him by submerging him in water to "cleanse" him. Due to Xie Ta's strong wish as he left the 658th timeline that Bai Liu can have all the commonplace happiness that every other ordinary person can have, Lu Yizhan, the prophet - is called into the 658th timeline early. He erases Bai LIu's memory of Xie Ta to ease his suffering and becomes his best friend and keeper. They escape from the orphanage together later in their years.

Bai Liu grows up without much incident after that, attending high school and college despite being a bad student. When he graduates he becomes a horror game developer. Lu Yizhan (who has become an ordinary cop) and his girlfriend Fang Dian keep him in line and act like pseudo parents to him despite there not being a great difference in their ages. They're roughly his only friends and despite acting as though he didn't enjoy their attention, Bai Liu treats them like family, and only begins to distance himself again when Fang Dian gets hurt trying to keep him out of harms way from a rogue motorcycle gang. He is still faintly distant, with a dry sense of humor, still fascinated by video games and the creepy and mysterious. He prefers to spend his time with books, and drawn to and somewhat obsessed with collecting money. He lives in a tiny little rented apartment and doesn't pay much attention to his quality of life.

At the age of 24 he's fired from his job due to disagreements with his boss's son. Bai Liu is shortly after sucked into "The Game," a seemingly supernatural and cross-realities system in which one collects points by playing and surviving horror games and the points represent real life money. In a series of games he encounters Xie Ta's soul as a wandering NPC known to attack and kill players immediately, lowering their sanity with his eyes. Eventually, piece by piece, he regains his memories of their past. He is good at the games, and he likes maximizing the win for the most points - a sort of daredevil who gambles with his life and mind in methods that are so far out of the box even if there's only 10% likelihood of the gamble working out.

He gains more friends through the game and acquires each of their souls through his special skill of bargaining, using the excuse that he has use of them to keep them safe. They form a team for the game, entitled the Wandering Circus. He learns through the games that the "real" world is just another universal timeline, and that the "monsters" in each of the games can bleed over to the real world and that there are human organizations to prevent this from happening on a wide scale.

Throughout the games he gets drawn deeper and deeper into the evil god's plot for him to become the new evil god. He plots with his friends to thwart this plan, resetting the universe to the 001 timeline.

Post canon he works as a psychological consultant with the s.cp department as the ex-evil god.

GQ & ADLAD CPN

@accio-victuuri has a post about some of the CPN from the GQ feature on GG. There are a couple more CPNs that I wanted to talk about because - with the exception of a couple of tidbits - I haven't seen turtles talking about some things that really stood out to me.

Both of the tidbits being discussed by BXG are based on fake rumors from the past.

Godly Back

Turtles feel that the backless jacket might be what was referred to in the recent LRLG rumor (Apparently wangwang senbei can be a homophone sounding like 'godly back').

In this context, "You saw what I wore, can you please choose something normal" becomes hilarious. 😅

If he really was talking about GG's back, well... DD, the rest of the internet agrees with you given the hotsearch that was trending on both the main and entertainment hotsearches. 😅

Xiao Zhan's back ditch is so deep

GGDD and ADLAD

This one I wanted to dig more deeply into because it's connected to a few different CPN from a long time ago, and a lot of turtles might not be aware of all these connections.

In the GQ interview GG mentioned he was really nervous for the first performance of ADLAD.

At the time a LRLG rumor came out with some exchanges between GG and DD in the days leading up to that first show. GG talks about being nervous, DD and his staff video call him to wish him Jiayou, and at one point - presumably the last time they talk before that first show - DD video calls with GG and closes off by giving him a high 5.

The day after the first show, GG posted on Weibo.

At the time there was a lot of speculation about what that second photo was. One of the theories was that GG had screen capped DD's hand high-5-ing his phone. Some fans even tried doing that themselves (screencapping their hands up against their phone cameras to see what would happen) with somewhat similar results - photos that were an ombre of pale pink to red.

Some additional CPN

When I saw GG talking in GQ about the first ADLAD show and how nervous he was and I saw turtles looking back over the LRLG rumors from that time, I decided to look over those rumors myself. I found a couple things there that really hit me in the gut, but which I haven't seen other turtles discussing.

Magician DD

One thing that stood out to me from the ADLAD LRLG rumor was when DD told GG he could do magic, and told his staff that only GG believed him.

Back in 2021 a series of pages called the 300G were released, which claimed to be transcripts of some of the best unseen moments from The Untamed BTS (300GB of BTS footage was reportedly sold to BXG fansites). They were translated by an all-star team of some of the best BXG translators and overall fandom MVP on Twitter back in the day (god I miss those days of Twitter 😢).

Disclaimer: We must remember that these are unconfirmed transcripts. As far as I know, none of the footage that could substantiate these transcripts has ever been released, so it could just be someone's fanfic.

Anyway, my absolute favorite moment in those transcripts was an exchange between GG and DD, when GG had been struggling with nailing a scene. My synopsis from a post I made about GG and DD's personalities a while back:

GG is having a hard time getting a take right for a scene, and the director tells him to take a break. DD scoots over to where GG is resting and holds out his two fists facing downward in front of GG and asks him to pick one for a surprise. GG agonizes a bit over which one to choose, but finally picks a hand. DD gives GG a mysterious smile and asks GG to hold out his hand. GG does, and DD opens his fingers over GG’s palm. There’s nothing there. DD says, “I’ve just given you some luck, so that on your next take, you will succeed.” GG asks what is in the other hand and DD turns it over and opens it and says, “See, there’s nothing there! Zhan-ge is so good, you guessed right on the first try!” GG rolls his eyes at DD and says, “WYB, in your heart, do you think I’m more than 10 years old?” On the next take, GG nails the scene.

So it's just possible that DD and GG have a long history of this type of exchange, of DD giving GG his 'magical' support. GG is just superstitious enough that it might genuinely help him, and anyway, who could fail to be soothed by such sweet magic? 🥹

GG and Sleep

Another thing that stood out to me is when GG talked about being unable to sleep. Honestly this part of the interview really got me because I have always struggled with extreme insomnia and I could totally feel his pain. I've tried so many of the things that he's tried, and have had similarly mixed/poor results.

Anyway, aside from the aromatherapy candle CPN that's been heavily discussed in the fandom, what stood out to me CPN-wise was the fact that LRLG rumors have (I think this has happened at least a few times, but I can't recall specifics), featured moments where it seemed like GG and DD left their phone/video calls active to keep each other company when the other one was sleeping.

In the ADLAD LRLG rumor there's a moment when it seems like GG might be having difficulty sleeping and DD keeps him company.

Find someone who will keep you company over the phone while you try to take a nap. 🥹

Firecrackers

Just another quick thing from that same rumor, DD talks about wanting to set off some firecrackers for GG, which... ugh, so sweet. My god.

His staff encourages him to do it, and he says he will be 'taken away' if he does (maybe get into trouble, likely exaggerated a bit), and his staff says he'll cover for DD.

In Chinese culture (and in fact, in many cultures), firecrackers are considered very lucky because they are believed to drive away evil spirits and bad luck (which is why they're such a feature of Spring Festival celebrations).

GG and DD always look out for each other, and this CPN around ADLAD and around GG's sleep struggles really hit me hard. I love them both so damn much!

It’s a small kenzo “bag” and ofc people are asking why is he buying it — it doesn’t look like his style. it’s because the size itself is more of ZZ’s. he loves smol bags. so funny cause bxgs are like — “i better not see that bag on XZ” or people that he’s with. lol.

but i looked at the website and i think it can actually be Bobo’s style too, cause it’s a phone case and not a bag. It’s green. leopard print but in a shape of a flower. What i will say tho is i haven’t seen him in an animal print design for a long time, it reminded me of what XZ was wearing for the wrap of SWM. not sure if it’s his own clothes or the characters. but we know that for these modern dramas, it’s common for actors to use their own. 🫶🏼

wait..wait..when did the first time xz wear the mysterious necklace? so we all know wyb has been wearing his since 200817 right? I try to make a timeline here lol. But I do agree wiith what ppl said that xz didn't have to hide it if it's an ambassador product and we all saw he openly said the red bracelet was from his parents and he didn't hide anything about it. So yeah, now we have new stuff to watch, this time from both of them lol

The first time (and for now the only time) we’ve seen XZ with his mysterious necklace was on 200822.

Here I’ll note all the dates we’ve seen WYB’s:

ok but what I can’t stop thinking about is did YB call GG “Lao Pao” (老婆) because the staff referred to him as as Lan Zhan’s wife in that one BTS, OR did the staff refer to GG as Lan Zhan’s Lao Pao because YB started calling him that??? OR OR OR was it because of the source material, specifically that one scene where Lan Zhan takes Wei Ying and A-Yuan out for dinner, and Wei Ying says, "世风日下，有奶便是娘，有钱便是爹"? (A rough literal translation basically means when times are tough, if someone has milk you treat them as your mother, and if someone has money you treat them as your father) Hence cementing that Lan Zhan takes on the role of a father in A-Yuan's life, and Wei Ying's the mother???
