Man.
there's just something about the love between a woman whose impending death is inevitable and a man who's an immortal undead...
#bg3 spoilers#thoughts about media#starlach is so beautiful but so fucking tragic#apparently you cannot save karlach as astarion unless you've ascended#you cannot join her in avernus as a spawn :(#bro and it kills me karlach has been unwillingly celibate for 10 years#but that doesn't matter. she loves astarion SO MUCH she just wants to be with him. however she can.#AND THE FUCKING KISSES????? dude she is SOOO gentle with him!!!!!!!!#makes me think of this one short french film. which is obv a bit different from karlach and astarion's romance.#but it's still about valuing the love you have while it's there. because it can be lost so so easily.#basically a husband is cheating on his wife but then his wife falls terminally ill. and so he takes care of her.#and while taking care of her he realises just how much he loves her. he stops seeing the other woman. and stays with his wife to the end.#just the devotion he shows her in her remaining time alive and then the final shot where he's alone and just. dumbstruck with grief....#I saw this film years ago and it still sits with me. it was so beautiful and tragic. very french! lmao.#just makes me think of starlach in a way though. like the beauty of that limited time karlach and astarion would have together.#and the fucking tragedy that would be karlach dying and astarion...immortal astarion.... being alone again.#ugh MAAAN!!!! starlach and wyllstarion and wyllach are all SUCH good pairs#they offer a veritable buffet of the most wonderful. tender. and tragic romance tropes T____T#I have to give credit where credit is due. thank you larian for two VERY fucking good m/f pairings.#so easy for writers to come up with piss poor m/f romances that have no chemistry but karlach works SOO well with either astarion or wyll.#i wish the fandom wasn't. well as fandoms normally are. you know. 😒#literally any of these three pairs SHOULD be the most popular imo.#if you disagree- that's your own opinion. I am not here to fight with people.#also one last thing? the youtube poster's icon fucking KILLED me. please look at it.

Dinner for two
Tumblr media
Summary: You don’t eat alone this year.
Pairing: AU!Bucky Barnes x fem!Reader
Warnings: angst, grumpy Bucky, fluff, mentions of cheating ex-boyfriend, unnamed ex (you can imagine whoever you want)
Catch up here: Dinner for one
Dinner for … masterlist
Tumblr media
“That was not nice of you, doll,” Bucky holds the door open for you to enter your favorite restaurant. It’s another Friday night and you meet up with Bucky for dinner. “You said it’s a Clint Eastwood film but there were no guns, and he didn’t kill the bad guys.”
“I said it’s a movie with Clint Eastwood. I never said that there would be violence and guns,” you point out. “The Bridges of Madison County is a wonderful movie.“
"They didn’t even end up together.” He huffs but gently grabs your hand. Bucky squeezes it tightly. “A bad ending.”
“No. I mean, yes. They didn’t end up together, but you know that in the end, they loved each other for the rest of their lives. It’s so romantic.” You sigh deeply.
“Y/N, that’s not romantic,” Bucky grumbles. “It’s not a good ending if they suffer for the rest of their lives because they can’t be together. I don’t like it.”
“Hmm…maybe you are right. I think the movie is about making decisions too, you know. This man, who traveled the world, crashes into her life and sweeps her off of her feet. Her husband is not very attentive, and her kids don’t even let her listen to her music. No wonder she falls for the tall and interesting man.”
“Tall and interesting,” Bucky feels his heart flutter as he guides you toward the table reserved for you and him. “Do you like tall men too?” He pulls the chair for you, waiting for an answer.
“I don’t know,” you answer honestly. “The appearance doesn’t matter to me. I like people because they are…nice.”
“You’re too cute,” he sits on his chair, just like every Friday night to smile at you. “Come on, be honest. What did you like about your last boyfriend?”
You frown and drop your gaze. Talking about your ex-boyfriend is still a sensitive topic for you. “I don’t want to talk about him.”
“Sorry, doll. I shouldn’t have asked. So…uh…what do you like about me?” He reaches out for your hand to stroke your skin with his thumb. “You can be honest with me. We are friends. Right?”
“Best friends,” you hastily say. “I love our Friday night dinners and that you watch stupid movies about unrealistic love stories with me. And I like your eyes. They give away if you are angry, grumpy, or sweet.”
“Sweet?” He smirks. “You think I’m sweet, doll?” Bucky takes your hand to bring it to his lips. “I think you are even sweeter and cute.”
You pout. “I can be bad too. Last week I yelled at my neighbor because he wouldn’t quiet down the music. I was badass.”
“I bet you scared him,” he pecks your hand again. “But that’s not what I wanted to talk about. It’s our first anniversary. One year ago, we had dinner together for the first time.”
“I remember and,” you open your handbag to get a beautifully wrapped gift out, “I got something for you, Bucky. Thank you for being such a good friend, and more. You always make me smile, and cheer me up. If not for you, I’d be eating alone, my teddy bear my only companion. I hope you know that the time we spent together was precious to me.”
“Doll,” Bucky clears his throat. He takes the gift you offer to him. “I got something for you too. I-I don’t know if you will like it, though. It’s just, I can’t keep it a secret for longer.”
“Please open the gift. I hope you’ll like it,” you softly say, and pat his hand. “It’s okay, Bucky. I think I already know.” Your features sadden, and you swallow thickly.
Whatever Bucky wants to tell you, seems to be important and you want him to remember the time you spent together before he tells you about the woman you saw him with last week.
Bucky unwraps the gift, he gasps and swallows thickly as there is a heart-shaped key in the box. He lifts his eyes from the box to look at you.
“I wanted to give you the key to my heart but…” You wipe your eyes. “I saw you with that beautiful woman and know now, that you don’t feel the same.” You hold up your hand when Bucky wants to say something. “It’s alright, Buck. This is not your fault, but mine.”
“Baby doll,” Bucky almost knocks the chair over when he gets up to hurriedly crouch down in front of you and grasp your hands to pepper kisses on your skin, “that’s not what I wanted to tell you. You’re precious and important to me. That woman was my best friend’s wife, Sharon. I asked her for advice on how to tell you that I want to be more than your friend.”
“More than my friend—” you sniffle while searching his face. “Do you mean it?”
“Yeah,” he rasps. “I know you are still hurting because of that douchebag but I’m willing to wait all my life if only you give me the chance to love you. Because I love you, Y/N.”
You whimper. “I love you too,” you throw yourself at Bucky and press a kiss on his cheek. “So much. I abandoned my bear and told him that you are my best friend and protector now.”
He wraps his arms around you and buries his face in your neck. Bucky held you many times in his arms – but this is the first time after he confessed his feelings. It feels different but wonderful. “Do you still want to eat with me?”
“Of course, Mr. Barnes. I’m starving,” you choke out. You’re a little overwhelmed by your emotions and don’t know what else to say.
“That’s my girl,” he whispers and means it as you hold tight to each other for a little longer.
Tumblr media
“So, this is our sixth official date,” Bucky states as he looks at the menu. He smirks as you nervously shift in your seat. “Doll, relax. We both know that you can’t do anything wrong. I even let you change my interior.”
“It was awful, and you love your new bedroom,” you tease, and chuckle when his features darken.
“I love what we do in my bedroom,” he flashes you a smirk, making you feel hot and bothered. Bucky has this talent to make you go weak in the knees with only a smile or the look he gives you.
“You mean cuddling.”
“I mean cuddling,” Bucky grins and looks back at the menu. “Hmm…if I want dessert I should start with something lighter tonight. I wanna have a second dessert at home.”
“Bucky,” you say, and look around the restaurant. You don’t want the whole restaurant to know that Bucky is an enthusiastic pussy eater. “Not in public.”
“What?” He feigns innocence and puts his hand on his heart. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” he leans closer to whisper, “or naughty.”
“You’re a naughty man, and you know it.” You both chuckle and reach out for each other’s hand to hold it. “I love you, naughty man.”
“Love you too, doll,” his features soften again, and you see the Bucky only you get to see. The soft and caring man behind his stoic demeanor and grumpy attitude. “Now, what do you want to eat.”
“Y/N? Y/N Y/L/N?”
Bucky is alerted the moment you stiffen and your smile fades. “Baby doll, is everything okay? Is something wrong?”
“I knew it was you,” the man breaking your heart almost two years ago dares to step toward your table. “You look, wow…great.” He flashes you the brightest smile that used to make your heart race. Now there is no reaction. All you do is huff and shake your head.
“Hello,” you coolly reply. “How have you been? I thought you were still in Tokyo and trying to conquer the world.”
“Aw, baby,” the woman he left you for joins your unwelcome reunion, “you didn’t tell me you met some friends.” She stiffens as her eyes land on you. “Oh, it’s you…”
“Bucky, may I introduce my ex-boyfriend and the woman he cheated on me with to you,” you put on a fake smile. “They were about to leave us alone so we could enjoy our date night.”
“Date night?” Your ex splutters. He looks at you as if you lost your mind. In his fantasy, you never get over him and live a lonely life.
“Yes, date night,” Bucky slowly gets up from his chair. He’s an impressive sight when angry. He squares his jaw and offers his hand to your ex. “I’m James Buchanan Barnes,” Bucky smirks darkly as your ex furrows his brows. “If you would excuse us now, me and my lovely fiancé want to dine and enjoy our night. I believe you have plans too.”
“Yes…we are…you know…busy,” your former best friend stammers. She grabs your ex’s hand and leads him away from your table.
“You little shit lied straight to his face,” you snicker. “I didn’t get the memo. Since when are we engaged?”
Bucky shrugs. “I’m planning a spring wedding, doll. So, if you have time let’s plan a wedding,” he casually says and looks back at the menu. “What do you say?”
“I’m all for chicken parmesan, but you can eat whatever you want,” you smile to yourself as your boyfriend nervously shifts in his seat.
“That’s not what I meant, Y/N.”
“Hmm…” You nod thoughtfully. “I think May is the perfect season for a wedding. It’s warm, but not too hot.”
Bucky takes your hand to press a chaste kiss on your skin. “I promise to never hurt you like he did. You are the one for me and I’ll prove it every day of my life.”

You were sitting front row in the audience, waiting for Austin, your husband, you walk onstage. He was currently in the middle of the press tour for Masters of the Air but this was his first interview since your wedding and you knew that he was going to be asked about it. You looked down at your hand, smiling when you saw the dainty gold band that was now sitting on your ring finger before being jolted out of your thoughts when you heard the rest of the audience applause as Austin walked on stage.
He’d spoken about Masters of the Air for about fifteen minutes before the interviewer changed the topic. ‘So, we’ve seen on your lovely girlfriend, no, your lovely wifes Instagram a couple of wedding photos,’ he said, causing Austin to smile softly, looking down at his ring before lifting his head, his eyes finding yours instantly and his smile growing. ‘How was it?’
‘One of the happiest days of my life,’ he replied, smiling. ‘I’d been ready to propose pretty much a week after we started dating so it’s been a long time coming but it was so worth it. We got married in this big stately home and she looked so beautiful,’ he said, his voice trailing off as he found you once again in the audience.
‘You were ready to propose after a week? And how long had you been dating before the wedding?’
‘So, we met when filming began again for Elvis after lockdown and she was wandering around the set, offering to get coffees for everyone. I’d noticed that she started doing that pretty much every day so one morning when I heard that she was making her rounds, I decided to go and get her a coffee and surprise her. The only downside is I now have to get her coffee every morning,’ he joked, making everyone else in the studio laugh.
‘And how did you propose?’
‘Well, I wanted to make this big deal of it, I had a plan where I’d booked a couple of days off work and I was going to take her out on a date, you know, really try to woo her. And then because we were in Australia, we were going to spend a couple of days in Sydney and on the last evening I was going to take her to a show at the Opera House, she’s always wanted to go and I was going to propose after the show, by the water. It didn’t really turn out like that, I jumped the gun a bit and our trip to Sydney ended up being a bit of an engagement-moon kind of thing,’ Austin explained, laughing softly. You smiled to yourself as you remembered the night, about a year and a half ago now.
You were waiting in Austin’s trailer for him to finish filming, curled up on the sofa with a film playing softly on the TV. You’d spent the day packing a couple of bags for you and Austin after he’d surprised you this morning by telling you that he was taking you to Sydney for a long weekend. The sound of the door opening made your head turn in the direction of the sound and you smiled tiredly as you watched Austin walk in.
‘How was filming?’ you asked softly when he came and sat down on the sofa next to you, resting his head on your shoulder and sighing heavily.
‘Long,’ he replied, the end of the word being cut off slightly by a yawn and you moved your arms to wrap around him, tangling your fingers in his hair and scratching lightly. ‘That feels amazing,’ he murmured, his eyes closing as he let his weight lean onto yours more.
‘Well, you don’t have to go back onto that set for the next few days. We’re going on holiday and I don’t want you even thinking about work for the whole time we’re away, you hear me?’ you asked, tilting his head to face you. As soon as his eyes were on yours, his body relaxed and he leaned in to give you a quick kiss before groaning against your lips.
‘I still need to pack, I was going to on my break earlier but I completely forgot. I won’t be long and then we can go.’
‘I’ve packed your bags for you, they’re on the bed with mine so we’re good to go whenever you’re ready. I didn’t know what kind of things you wanted to take so I’ve packed some hoodies as well that you might - ’
‘Marry me.’
His words cut you off straight away and you pulled back slightly, keeping your arms around his neck, to look at him. ‘What did you just say?’ you asked as Austin moved to sit more upright on the sofa, hooking your legs over his arms and pulling them across his lap, trying to pull you closer to him. He leaned in closer, a small smile playing on his lips as he looked at you.
‘Marry me,’ he repeated softly, bringing his hand up to cup your cheek. ‘I had this big plan where I was going to take you to the Opera House and propose while we were away but I couldn’t wait.’
‘But I’m in ratty sweatpants, one of your hoodies, this isn’t the time to propose to someone! I mean, I look - ’
‘Perfect. You look perfect ,’ he said, grinning at you now as he tugged you even closer, until your nose was brushing against his. ‘So, what do you say? Will you marry me?’
‘Will we still get to go to the Opera House?’
‘Yes,’ he replied, laughing.
‘Then yes!’ you exclaimed, pulling him in for a kiss.
When Austin had finished recounting the story of his proposal, the studio erupted in applause and you couldn’t stop the blush from rising in your cheeks. ‘And how has married life been treating you?’ the host asked, grinning at Austin.
‘Incredible, we had our honeymoon in Spain and since being back, everything’s just felt so right and amazing and there’s a lot of changes going on at the minute so it’s terrifying but so exciting at the same time.’
‘What kind of changes are you making?’
‘Well, uh,’ Austin chuckled nervously, his hand running along his thigh as he adjusted his seat and looked over at you, looking for permission. Smiling back at him, you nodded gently. Austin grinned back at you before turning back to the host. ‘We’ve been changing one of the guest rooms in the house into a nursery. About three months ago, we found out that we’re going to be parents.’
The applause that followed was deafening and you and Austin couldn’t help but laugh at the reaction, neither of you knowing what you were expecting. Once the applause had died down, the host wrapped up his interview with Austin. Austin thanked him and stood. Instead of heading off of the set, he made his way over to you, sitting on the floor in front of you and grabbing your wrists, draping your arms around his neck.
‘You were amazing up there,’ you murmured into his ear, leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to the top of his head as his fingers absentmindedly began to play with yours.
‘Thank you, baby,’ he replied, craning his neck around to look at you, nothing but love in his eyes. ‘How are you guys doing?’
‘We’re just fine,’ you said, smiling warmly at him, ‘the amount of interviews you’ve got lined up over the next couple of months, they’re going to know just how big their daddy is before they’re even born.’
Austin tilted his head backwards until your face was upside down in his eyes. ‘I love you. Both of you.’
You leaned down to quickly peck his lips before moving your hands to cup either side of his face, running your thumbs along his cheeks. ‘We love you too. Now, be quiet, we’re trying to listen to the rest of the show.’

Hi! :) Could you write frat!Peter during a lazy morning showing reader that little vídeo he recorded back in Berlin in Homecoming? And he's like: you see, I wasn't always this hot!!! And you tell him he was still so cute and that you'd have loved dated him back then as well?
i watched it as i wrote it and i fell back in love with the lil cutie.
watch peter's vlog here
Peter hisses and shakes his arm from where you have your teeth sunk in.
“I’m sorry baby, but I can’t believe you weren’t always this juicy.”
“I’m not a steak, you can’t just take a bite of me.”
You wink and run your hand down his naked chest, “no, but you are a delicious hunk of meat.”
Peter groans and pushes your hand off, you wriggle in closer to his body, your bare chest sticks against his ribcage, evaporated sweat glues you together.
“I’m telling you now, you wouldn’t have said that like five years ago.”
You kiss his chest, his hand tries to lay down your hair, “I’d take you up on that bet.”
“Oh really?”
You frown when your lips meet air, the skin you dotted kisses cross ripped away to the other side of the bed, peter sees your empty pout and rolls his eyes, “gimme a second,” he rolls back the other way, his half charged phone in his hand, you softly cheer and continue to press kisses against the swell of his chest.
“Tell me you’d still date me.”
Peter’s phone is in landscape mode, his finger hovering over the play button until your attention is captured. The thumbnail was a black screen with tile words, you try to hold back a snort at the ‘A Film by Peter Parker.’  You held his wrist to angle his phone more towards you and motion him to play it.
“Oh my god!” You squeal out the words and pinch your boyfriends wrist, “you sound like such a baby! Oh my god, you’re so cute.”
“Not even ten seconds in,” peter presses play.
“You’re not supposed to show anyone this, but you’re showing me? Oh my god, that is so cute, I love you so much.”
“Are you going to do this when you see me at fifteen?”
You press against him further, he can feel your heart beating quickly against his side, you were terribly excited.
You scream when he finally flips the camera, it makes him jump slightly and you fly upright and pull the phone from his grasp to bring it three inches from your face. You jump between the screen and the boy on your right, trying to place which one you like better, both are awfully cute.
“You are such a baby! Look how cute you are, oh my god! You sound so little, look at your widdle cheeks here!” You push the phone back in his face, he finds it comical, you bring your hands to try and pinch at his cheeks but over the years he’s become more defined and has much less baby fat.
“What the fuck is that!” You choke out a laugh at his suit, you assume it was the homemade one he very briefly, one time mentioned. Peter’s blush confirmed the assumption, “hey! I did what I could.”
“I saw that montage of pretty berlin girls, petey, imagine if they knew you were a hero.” You laugh when he reaches a hand to pinch at your side, your positions changed, no longer laying next to Peter you’re sitting with your legs tucked underneath, your knees poking the side of his thigh. You’re both naked, his top sheet pooled around your waists, chests bare to each other.
Peter’s phone is in your grasp, his left hand rests on your thigh, eyes tied at your face to watch your reaction, he’s happy you’re enjoying it this much, he thought for sure you’d make fun of him and pray to the heavens you found him now, but he’s now thinking you may have liked him better as a kid.
You pout and awe at him, “you looked so happy when you got your new suit, I love you so much, oh my god.”
Your jaw drops at the end, “were you a virgin when you filmed this?”
Peter snorts, “sure was.”
“Literally, how? Cause you are so fucking hot here, like after the shower? You know your wet hair is my weak spot, and the flip? Why don’t you flip for me more, like now I know that’s a thing you can do, why are you not doing it? Like, babe, I’d fuck the shit out of you here, like my fifteen year old self would.”
Peter takes his phone back, “you’re still convinced you’d date me back then?”
He is chuffed, he won’t admit how ego inducing your praises were.
You move to lay back up against him, settling with your head on his chest you smile at him.
“You said the best day of your life was when you got your new suit, how could I not love you?”
Peter winces, “that’s not the best day of my life.”
You frown, “it’s not?”
He shakes his head confidently, “nope, it’s been updated.”
You tilt your head, “oh, to when?”
Peter kisses your forehead, “to the day I met you.”

Could i asked for a ScarLizzie x daughter reader fic please?
Lizzie is finally introducing R to her girlfriend Scarlett for the first time. (Hectic filming schedules have gotten in the way of the three meeting up)
R is deaf and Scarlett has been learning sign language in secret and both mother and daughter are delighted.
Scarlett soon becomes R's favourite person (other than her mummy of course). "You're nicer than daddy".
Or something like that
Please and thank you 😊
Favorite person
Tumblr media
Y/N: 7 years old ——————————————————
NO ONE'S POV The day has finally come. Lizzie's introducing her girlfriend to her little daughter.
Scarlett and Lizzie have been dating for nearly a year now. Lizzie wanted to be sure with her relationship before she would introduce Scarlett to her daughter and when she finally decided it's time, her hectic filming schedule just didn't allow it.
But it's here now and Y/N's going to meet the woman that won her mother's heart. Y/N's been super excited to meet her mommy's girlfriend. She knows a lot about Scarlett from Lizzie, even saw some pictures of her and it's finally about to happen.
One thing leaves Scarlett nervous though… Y/N doesn't hear. Ever since Lizzie told her she's been learning sign language. And to be honest, she's doing quite well, yet she's still a little nervous about it.
Y/N's currently in the living room, playing with her toys while Lizzie's finishing cooking dinner. Hearing the doorbell Lizzie goes to open, smiling at the sight of her daughter while walking around her.
Lizzie greets her girlfriend with a hug and a kiss before she leads her to the living room where the little troublemaker is.
As soon as Y/N notices a movement in the living room, she lifts her eyes from the ground, locking them with her mommy's girlfriend's.
Before Lizzie can start signing her daughter anything, Scarlett stops her.
"I'll do it" Scarlett smiles, taking a deep breath before looking at the tiny girl in front of her. "Hi, Y/N. I'm Scarlett. It's so nice to meet you" Scarlett signs, Y/N immediately smiling widely.
Y/N signs 'nice to meet you too' back, making Scarlett smile even more while Lizzie is completely shocked.
"Since when you know ASL?" Lizzie asks confused.
"I started learning when you told me about Y/N" Scarlett smiles and just this gesture makes Lizzie fall in love with the blonde even more.
Everything goes great, the three have dinner together, Y/N and Scarlett always smiling at each other when they lock eyes.
———
Scarlett has surely become Y/N's favorite person, beside her mommy of course, and even best friends over the time Scarlett's been coming over every now and then.
The little Olsen is one hundred percent sure that Scarlett is the best one for her mommy and that made Lizzie really happy when Y/N admitted it a few days ago.
Scarlett's over right now, watching Y/N and playing with her as Lizzie needed to leave to buy some groceries as the fridge is completely empty.
Somehow Y/N ends up sitting on Scarlett's lap while playing which the blonde doesn't mind at all. She loves Y/N as her own already and the fact that Y/N feels comfortable around her makes her happy.
All of a sudden Y/N looks up at the older woman, giving her an adorable smile which Scarlett returns.
"You're nicer than daddy" Y/N signs, warming Scarlett's heart while tears fill her eyes.
Y/N's father isn't the best, but also isn't the worst. He stops by every now and then to check up on his daughter, yet Y/N isn't as comfortable around him as she is around Scarlett.
Scarlett can't help but just pull the tiny girl in for a hug, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. And once they pull away, she signs her response. "You're the sweetest little girl I've ever met. I love you, Y/N"
And she means every single word. Y/N really has a special place in her heart by now, just like Scarlett does in Y/N's.
"I love you too" Y/N smiles adorably, melting Scarlett's heart even more.
What they don't know is that Lizzie's already standing at the doorframe. She's seen the whole interaction and she couldn't be more happy.
Both girls notice when Lizzie approaches them, taking a seat next to them.
"I love you both so much" Lizzie smiles, saying it out loud while signing and making both of her girls smile widely before Y/N practically jumps into her mommy's arms to give her a cuddle and show her how much she loves her.
It's safe to say that Y/N's absolutely thrilled about her mommy having such an amazing girlfriend who's so far the best friend she's ever had, except for her mommy of course.
They surely have a bright time ahead of them and all three are more than excited to see what the future holds for them.

NOT A GAME — JESS MARIANO
Tumblr media
based on a request
masterlist
pairing: jess mariano x reader
description: the playful banter was fun at first, but the line had blurred so long ago that you were starting to get sick of wondering how jess really felt. luckily for you, he’s been thinking the same thing.
warnings: angst into fluff, jess being annoying in a way that makes me love him more lol, swearing ofc,
author’s note: thank you so much for this request, i hope it does jess justice for you— i love writing him so much. i hope you enjoy — sorry it’s quite short i just wanted to keep it short n sweet
———
“Well that’s two hours of my life I’m never getting back, huh,” Jess took a final sip of the drink he’d been cradling for the whole film and threw it dramatically in the trash, his arm slung around your shoulder, “Think I aged like fifteen years in the time they took to wrap up that fuckin’ terrible plot.”
You rolled your eyes, pulling away from him and discarding your own empty cup as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and eyed you curiously, “What, don’t tell me you actually enjoyed that?”
“It wasn’t that bad,” you shrugged, “You’re just being pretentious.”
His brows furrowed at that — he hated when you of all people called him pretentious, and he knew you only ever did it to wind him up.
“Okay, what have I done?” Jess huffed, “You so didn’t enjoy that film, you’re just trying to piss me off. What did I do?”
You looked down at your feet with a grunt, “Nothing.”
“Despite my sweet baby face, I wasn’t born yesterday Y/N. It’s not nothing.”
The truth was that he had done something.
In fact, he was always doing the exact thing that had just tipped you over the edge.
“Fine, Jess,” you drew in a sharp breath, “I just— I don’t want to play this game anymore.”
“Have I missed something or was that movie just so dull that it corroded your brain?” Jess kicked a stone as he watched the frown on your face, “‘Cause I don’t remember playing any games. Not even footsie. What are you talking about?”
You scoffed, “That, Jess. Exactly that!”
“Woah, woah, c’mon Y/N. You’re going to have to give me more than just snapping at me. What the hell have I done?” Jess was growing increasingly frustrated now, but so were you.
You pressed a palm to your forehead, “I’m— What was that in there?”
“I was asking the same question,” Jess’ perplexed expression made your own angered one soften a little.
“What is this? Me and you?” you looked down at the floor as you posed this question, not wanting to argue any longer and too afraid wanting to see his reaction, “Because I’m sick of playing games and not knowing. You put your arm around me at the cinema, you share your popcorn with me when you’d like—literally snarl at anyone else if they asked, we kind of flirt like all of the time but we’re just friends.”
“Just friends, huh?”
You almost felt silly when you looked up at him and saw a smug smile on his face — almost.
But you were trying to open up to him and he was being just as irritating about your relationship as he always was.
“Jess…”
He didn’t say anything for a moment, taking your hand and pulling you around the corner to a park bench where he tugged you to sit down beside him.
“Do you seriously think we’re just friends, Y/N?” he was so close to you that you were sure he could hear your heart palpitations and see the goosebumps springing up on your skin.
“Well we’re not enemies, we spent a fuck ton of time together, and we’re not dating. So yeah, I’d like to think we’re friends,” you huffed, still avoiding his gaze.
He shook his head, “Why the hell do you think I invited you to see a fuckin’ romcom I’d never want to watch? Why do you think I asked to share popcorn? I know I’m the intellectually superior one here,” he paused to nudge your side as if to ensure you understood he was teasing, “But I didn’t think you were dumb enough to miss that I was obviously trying to make this a date.”
You bit your lip, finally returning his eye contact as his soft eyes stared intently into yours.
You drew in another deep breath, “Sure. Jess Mariano, Mr. Always Speaks His Mind, failed to tell me it was apparently a date so I’m dumb for not reading his mind?”
Neither of you had noticed that he was still holding your hand until that moment, and so he pulled it to the corner of his mouth and gave the back of your hand a gentle kiss.
Despite the unfamiliarity of this small but romantic gesture, your heart swelled in your chest and it almost felt natural.
“Y/N, I’ve liked you for fuckin’ ages. Everyone knows that. We flirt and we act like there’s nothing going on when people ask, but I thought at the very least you knew how I really felt,” Jess shrugged, not releasing your hand and instead now rubbing his thumb over the back of it.
You didn’t retreat from his touch, but used your interlocked hands to shove his chest gently, “You’re an asshole, you know that right?”
The small smile tugging at your lips eased the anxiety that had begun to set in. He’d almost started to fear that you didn’t actually feel the same, but your unsteady breathing and the glint in your eye confirmed the opposite.
“I know, I know,” he rolled his eyes, “But that’s all just part of the elusive charm that made you fall madly in love with me, isn’t it?”
You shook your head, “Cocky, aren’t you?”
“Well in my defence, the prettiest girl in Stars Hollow has, like, totally got the hots for me,” your heart fluttered at the smirk still gracing his features, “Hard not to have an ego.”
You just chuckled softly in reply, your heartbeat still racing as he watched you carefully. His own gaze softened now, and he reached his free hand up to cup your cheek.
“Look, in all seriousness I’m sorry this has been so— well, just that I haven’t been more direct about this stuff. But you know me, you know I’m bad at—,”
You squeezed the hand that was still in yours, “I know, Jess. It’s alright. I really like you, and to be honest I’ve been happy enough with any excuse to be close to you.”
“Hmm,” he hummed, leaning forward a little, “Can I kiss you, then? Make up for a shitty first date?”
You blushed crimson at the fact he’d asked, your cheek growing hot beneath his touch, “Of course.”
His lips met yours gently, as though testing the waters. You met his kiss with the same softness at first, but quickly the kiss grew more urgent — as though making up for lost time.
When you finally pulled away, your face was still bright red, and you felt almost embarrassed by how overcome with emotions you were.
“So, uh, about the film?”
He laughed, the loud affectionate laugh he reserved only for you, warming your heart as he sent you a teasing grin and licked his lips.
“And here I was thinking I’d be the one to ruin the moment, huh?”

a/n: and here is the next part! sorry if it took so fucking long 😓 school has been a bitch. anyway enjoy!
Tumblr media
the tense atmosphere in the house hasn’t left even if the heated argument has been finished few hours ago.
bada laid on their bed, filled with thoughts that kept her up the whole night, not even getting an ounce of sleep in her system.
she doesn’t even know if she could finish today’s filming without passing out, yet is still her job so she doesn’t have a choice but to attend the shooting for swf..the only problem is—bada’s going to see her there.
bada sat in the front row, heart beating faster than ever. she couldn’t hear what was happening around her, she was looking at the top of the stairs, getting nervous by the second.
tatter noticed how out of it their leader was making her worried, “bada, you okay? you look tense.” she whispered to her, not wanting the others to hear.
“yeah i’m good..” she said softly, yet her face says it all. team bebe were silent as they waited for the other teams to be complete. bada looked at her fingers, where their promise ring was placed as her mind goes elsewhere.
as her thoughts starts pilling in, footsteps were heard coming down the stairs next to them. looking up, bada saw the woman who she was desperately wanting to run after.
yn clinged onto kirsten’s arm, her thick black eye glasses shining from the light. “you doin’ fine girl?” kirsten asked as she saw bada looking at them from the corner of her eye, “mhmm.” yn hummed as she felt eyes on her.
bada continued to look at jam republic as they sat on their section beside them. she noticed the way yn sat in the far right away from her, making her sigh.
the shoot goes on, the tense atmosphere coming from the competitiveness of each group didn’t sit well with bada especially seeing yn has been silent and secluded for the whole time they were there.
the only reaction she has seen from her was when yn smiled at her team mates when they were called out for a challenge, that was it.
even bada hasn’t said a word, which wasn’t really surprising, yet the rest of team bebe sat down in silence as well. every team could feel the tense atmosphere coming from them, even jam republic.
“i feel like i’m going to puke.” emma whispered to latrice, “like—what’s up with the atmosphere, its more tense than usual.” the sub-leader replied back. “well, i have a feeling that i know why..” kirsten said to the two, as her eyes went from yn to bada.
“okay everyone! let’s take a quick break, be back at 12pm sharp!”
as everyone starts to stand up and stretch, bada heads over to jam republic. making eye contact with the team before grabbing one of their youngest members’ hand and dragging her towards the hallway.
Tumblr media
as they reach bebe’s room, the jam republic member pulled her hand away from bada’s. “what the hell are you doing?” yn asked furiously as she stared at bada. “we need to talk yn.”
“talk about what? how you went behind my back? how you fucking compared me to that lying son of a bitch?” she asked, eyes becoming glassy.
bada took a deep breath, she didn’t know what to do. for the past 2 years, this was the only moment she couldn’t think of anything to resolve her mistake.
seeing her staying silent, yn took it as a sign to go. as she turned around to leave, the words coming out of bada’s mouth torn them both apart.
“i don’t think we should continue..us anymore.”

Turmeric or Turmeric? (Prompt)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi guys!
You can find the request for this one here :) And the prompt here too!
For the context, it was from a TikTok Mary Earps posted a few weeks ago. Mary, Maya and Alessia were supposed to drink an awful thing with turmeric, pepper and others horrible ingredients.
Enjoy!
TW : None, pur fluff.
______________________________________________________________
"We are the hot shot threesome" Mary says happily before getting up to cut the camera on her phone, finishing her TikTok.
"I need some lip balm" Maya says before starting to look for it in her bag.
Alessia, on her side, falls on the bed with a moan of discomfort. Unlike Mary who seems to have enjoyed the content of the "shot" and Maya who drank it in one shot, she had more difficulty drinking it in its entirety. And did it only under the insistence of her teammates, not to kill the fun.
"Is she dead?" Mary asks Maya, laughing.
Smiling softly, Maya leans towards the blonde to pinch her ribs, making her growl while pushing her hand back.
"No, she looks okay" Maya laughs softly
Still with a grimace on her face, Alessia sits back on the bed to grab the bottle of tea and drink new long sips, hoping to pass the horrible taste that remains in her mouth.
"It was awful" says Alessia with a grimace before finally getting up
"It was really not good" confirms Maya, drinking too from the bottle.
"You are babies. I liked it" Mary says
Alessia smiles softly shaking her head. Heading towards the door, she is about to greet her friends when Mary jump from the bed in her turn.
"Where are you going?"
"Find Y/N. Why, you have another horrible challenge to offer me?" teases Alessia.
"No, but I have a better idea" Mary replies with a huge smile that really doesn't announce anything good.
********
"Mary there is no way in the world that I'm doing that to my girlfriend" Alessia frown.
"Come oooon, it could be fun!"
Alessia turns to Maya hoping to get some help, but she just smiles and shrugs. She understands Alessia’s reluctance but on the other hand she cannot help but find Mary’s idea rather amusing.
"Come on Less, all you have to do is find Y/N and kiss her so we can see her reaction"
"But I didn’t even wash my teeth" Alessia whines
"That’s the point" smiled Mary
"She’ll never want to kiss me again after that"
"Oh I wouldn’t worry about that if I were you" laughs Maya gently. "Y/N has been crazy about you for years, long before you opened your eyes to the nature of your respective feelings."
Alessia groan for any answer. Maya is right and she knows it, you have developed a crush for her for years, maybe even since the first time you saw her. But until a year ago, when Alessia’s behavior towards you changed, you were content to live one-way feelings, dating around, hoping to get over the feelings you had for Alessia. It never worked out.
Seeing that Alessia begins to hesitate, Mary leads the attacker into the common room where you are. Sitting on a stool and leaning at the coffee bar, you are in full discussion with Esme when the trio arrives at the entrance of the room.
"But she’s busy! She’s talking to Esme, I don't want to interrupt" Alessia tries, hoping to escape what she was asked.
"For God’s sake, Alessia, go kiss your girlfriend"
Alessia sighs gently and shakes her head before shyly entering the room. Satisfied, Mary grabs her phone to film the scene. She can thus have a perfect vision of Alessia’s hesitant steps in your direction.
For your part, you end up spotting the silhouette of your girlfriend who approaches you. You address her a big smile while still talking to Esme.
Before you really understand what is happening, Alessia finally arrives next to you and positions herself between Esme and you who are face to face on your respective stools. Even sitting, thanks to your seat, your face is almost the same height as Alessia's who is standing.
Alessia gently grabs your face by taking it in her hands and gently raises your chin before putting a kiss on your lips. You blow your nose under surprise, usually you don’t kiss in public. Unlike hugs or gestures of affection, it's not uncommon to see Alessia’s arms around your waist or to see you sleep on the shoulder of the blonde during your trips or movie nights.
Your arm passed around her waist, you look for Alessia's eyes after your kiss that lasts a few seconds and you prepare to question her before frowning. Her lips taste strange, far from the sweet taste they usually have.
"Did you eat something special?" you ask your girlfriend curiously.
But Alessia doesn't have time to answer that Mary’s laughter is heard. Maya appears smiling behind her and both of them approach you, drawing the attention of the other girls in the room.
"What’s going on?" you ask, a little lost.
Alessia informed you that she was going to do a TikTok with Mary and Maya, without really telling you what it was. When Mary throws you one of the bottles they drank and you catch it easily with your free hand.
"Hot shot threesome" Maya grins as you read the ingredients on the bottle with a grimace.
"I’m sorry Baby, they made me do it" Alessia plead, turning a little bit to look at Mary and Maya.
Mary snorts while you look up at Alessia with a little smile. She seems worried about your reaction, which really doesn’t matter. You’re pretty calm by nature, Esme is your best friend and it’s not for nothing.
"Don’t worry" you smile affectionately at her before gently kissing her cheek.
Alessia hums as she tightens against you, briefly pressing her temple against your forehead. You take the opportunity to deposit a new kiss, on the corner of her jaw this time.
You don’t really listen when Mary, Maya and Esme start talking about the drink and spicy food they’ve eaten so far. Alessia sometimes gets involved in the discussion as well. But you, you just watch your girlfriend. You’re obsessed with the blue of her eyes and the different features of her face. You feel your expression soften when she laughs and you pass your second arm around her waist after a few minutes.
It draws Alessia’s attention to look and smile at you, gently kissing your forehead.
God, you are so in love.
When Alessia shifts her attention back to the conversation, you listen to them with a distracted ear. You aren't surprised when Ella comes to mingle in the conversation, but you quickly turn away to admire Alessia. After so many years of trying to reason yourself about your feelings for her, you still can’t believe you can finally consider her "yours".
Unable to resist, you put your lips on her cheek again. Then you slide your lips all the way up to her jaw to finish in the hollow of her neck. You feel Alessia shivering, you know how sensitive she is here. Her hair is loose so no one can see what you just did, but Alessia is giving you a warning look.
"Sorry" you whisper softly before kissing her shoulder this time.
"Not here" whispers Alessia in return, forgetting in turn your teammates. "You can have all the kisses you want when we get back to the room"
"Mh… after you brush your teeth then. You taste weird" you smile maliciously.
"Don't talk about it… I didn’t want to finish, they forced me" Alessia pouts, very aware that she just drew Mary and Maya’s attention to you.
"Oh, really?" you coos, kissing your girlfriend’s cheek again.
"Yes, they were very mean"
"My poor little love" you laugh softly, gently tightening Alessia in your arms.
"You’re so dramatic" Mary sighs.
But Alessia gives her an ironic smile as you continue to hold her protectively against you. The blonde even lets herself go a little against you, standing impossibly close to you. Mary rolls her eyes and throws a ball napkin in your direction.
"Can't you stop two seconds from reminding others how single they are for god's sake?"

“Hey, guess what?”
Wanda turned her head, searching mirthful eyes for a clue. “What’s up?”
“If you’re a baby then you’re my baby.” Her cheeks bloomed tomato red, Wanda suddenly grateful for the pitch dark room. You couldn’t see the color, but you could feel the heat on your shoulder through your t-shirt as she hid her face in your chest.
“Shut up, don’t say that.”
Tumblr media
Wanda only joined the sorority because of you. She was shy and reserved, so opposite of your outgoing nature that when she ran up to you on rush week, declaring her pledge to the same group you’d been planning to your whole freshman year, you were shocked. Pleasantly so; the one downside to Greek Life was the reality of spending less time with your best friend. Wanda didn’t like it either, the idea of a huge group of girls she didn’t know occupying your attention with her nowhere around nearly kept her up at night. So she decided to join alongside you, simple fix.
She’d gotten in with no problem; quiet as Wanda was, she was so easily beloved it’d been easy to win over the council with her addictive laugh and sweet demeanor. Still, it was clear to anyone that saw the two of you together that Wanda only got in to be with you; Wanda being assigned your roommate in the house wasn’t a coincidence. The girl was at your side constantly, had been since she and her brother first transferred to your high school and you’d offered the twins a spot at your lunch table.
You didn’t mind; Wanda was cute, fun, and all around a supportive friend. There wasn’t a dull time to be had with her around, which is why you wanted her to hang out with you now. “It’s just one little movie marathon, Wands. It’s not that bad.”
Wanda was still hovering at the entrance to the expansive living room, lights dim as the other girls found their spots and decided what film to watch first. The Halloween movie night was a long upheld sorority tradition, a fun start to the month of October— too bad Wanda had always been too jumpy for the ones on their lineup. “It’s a horror movie marathon…”
“I don’t want you to be upstairs all by yourself on a Friday night, that’s sad.” Wanda didn’t budge, not even when you grabbed her arms and gave them a playful tug. “Come on, I’ll let you sit with me! And you don’t have to watch anything you don’t want to. I’ve got our favorite blanket?”
“I’ve got our favorite blanket!” Natasha brushed past you both, mocking your encouragement as she carried popcorn in for the group. She was something like friends with Wanda, but nowhere near as patient with her clingy nature, poking fun at it more than anything.
About a month ago, Wanda drunkenly confessed her crush on you to Nat, crying outside on the lawn after you’d taken some other girl to bed; since then, Natasha tried her best to encourage Wanda to come clean. As visible as Wanda’s dependence on you was, your reciprocal love was evident as a neon sign above your head. You’d never reject her, but so far, Nat hadn’t convinced Wanda. Plan B was to antagonize incessantly.
The redhead ruffled Wanda’s hair, poking the tip of her nose before backing away. “I see you’re babysitting again tonight or else I’d ask you to sit with me. Movies can get a little boring without something to do while watching.” Wanda wound her arms around you at her insinuation, holding tight while she glared daggers at the older girl.
“She won’t be bored! I’m right here.” It was no secret you thought Natasha was hot, even joked about sleeping with her a few times, but nothing serious. You only had eyes for Wanda and Natasha, well, she found you attractive, but she would never stomp on Wanda’s feelings so blatantly.
But she saw no harm in teasing you until Wanda decided to spill her secrets. All in good fun. “Possessive, are we? Don’t worry, I won’t take your toys, little one.”
Natasha walked off then, unbothered by Wanda’s prominent scowl and making her rounds to deliver snacks. Wanda wanted to be as mad as she looked and she was, to a point. Her crush wasn’t her only secret. While she hated being picked on, she couldn’t deny the taunts always left a dull ache in her belly that she never quite knew what to do with.
“Hey, don’t let her get to you.” You were already leading Wanda to the couch, settling in against the arm before motioning her to sit next to you. “I don’t care if you get scared, we’ll still have plenty of fun.”
“Yeah…” Wanda couldn’t be upset with your kindness, it was the opposite really. The only thing that changed the aforementioned ache was how much worse it got each time you reassured her. For years, her guilty pleasure had been basking in how good it felt to be doted on by you specifically, often playing up her worries just to get an extra pat on the head or kiss on the cheek.
It’d been annoying, but manageable until other people started calling her out for her behavior, the sick combo of being ever so slightly humiliated and then subsequently coddled by her favorite person never failing to set her off. Whenever you’d notice her blushing or how she folded into you each time she was questioned, you read it as shame and stuck up for her, protective friend that you were. How was she supposed to explain that made it all the worse? Now, in this house surrounded by girls who were always pointing it out, Wanda was growing more and more exasperated.
The lights shut off and Wanda curled up beside you, folding her knees under her and leaning against your shoulder. You were quick to pull the thick blanket over you both, taking care to make sure Wanda was nicely cuddled in before pressing a kiss to her forehead. “This okay?”
“Huh?” Wanda was too preoccupied with Natasha plopping down on the other end of the couch, making stupidly obvious thumbs up motions at her to fully understand what you were saying until you asked again. This time, the hand you’d placed behind her was smoothing out her hair and she had to swallow a gulp before she could respond normally. “Yeah, I’ll be fine. Really, don’t worry about me.”
Your eyes followed Wanda’s focus and you spotted Natasha who, upon seeing your curious look, instantly shot a “have fun looking after the baby!” your way. You sent her an indignant finger back before turning your attention on Wanda once more.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The first movie was… okay. Wanda only ducked her face under the blanket three times which was a new personal record. Most of her issues stemmed from you honestly, how insistent you’re being in keeping her calm. Each time a jumpscare ran, you looked down, whispering your reassurances and nuzzling your cheek against your forehead. You’d been rubbing circles over her hip for the better part of an hour now and Wanda was dangerously close to losing her composure.
“How’s she holding up?” Natasha stretched herself across the couch until she was inches away from the cozy space you’d created for her and the younger woman huffed, stamping down the urge to push the redhead away. Instead she stayed quiet and let you do the talking; it wouldn’t be the first time. Besides, if she spoke up now, she’d give herself away. Natasha was too sharp to miss it.
“She’s fine, Tasha. Leave her alone.” You rolled your eyes, but your tone was light; Natasha was clearly still just joking. “If you’re so worried, why don’t you take her?”
She instantly shook her head; she couldn’t peel Wanda away from you if she tried. “I’m just surprised the little princess isn’t bundled up on top of you by now is all.” Wanda couldn’t be mad that Natasha was pointing out the obvious; if she wasn’t next to you, she was on you, but you claimed it was never an issue.
Never one to be too outdone, Wanda wiggled her way into your lap, settling down once her legs were on either side of yours. Surprise was clear on your face when Wanda looked your way, but she only grinned and stuck her tongue out at Nat. So much for staying quiet, “Go away, the next movie is starting.”
Natasha backed up, hands in the air as if to admit defeat, but her shit-eating grin never faltered. If she had to shove you two together by being annoying, so be it; unfortunately for Wanda, she was completely unaware of the other ways the taunts affected her.
Surrounding conversations quieted down as the second film choice started to play and Wanda let out a deep breath, figuring she’d survived another wave of torment. Until you bounced her on your lap, “Don’t be so grumpy, Natasha is just messing around.”
“Yeah? Well then you can stop messing around too and don’t jostle me. I was comfortable.” She grumbled, trying to ignore how much she actually liked it. Just enough friction for her to feel it, to hold back a groan.
Your mouth poked out in a pout, hands coming to cup Wanda’s pink cheeks, “Aww, is someone upset? What’s wrong, you’ve been weird all night.”
Wanda shook her head, craning her neck towards the television across the room as the movie’s intro blasted through the speakers, ignoring you in favor of whatever creature was crawling out of the lake. It didn’t last long; the instant that thing attacked, Wanda was cowering, shuddering against your chest.
“Wands…” Through her fear Wanda registered your hand on the small of her back making small circles that were supposed to be soothing, but currently only left her shivering for a completely different reason. When she whined, you took it as further distress and you’d had enough. “You’re having a bad time, I’m taking you upstairs.”
“No!” She gripped your shirt before you could move her away and this time when you looked her way, Wanda was close enough to really take in her flushed cheeks and nervous lip biting. “I’m fine, quit worrying!”
You were worried about her; when you all went to college, Pietro made you swear you’d look after his twin and you’d rolled your eyes because everyone knew there wasn’t a day that’d gone by where you weren’t taking care of your friend. You chose her over anything, always, even if tonight that was a movie night you’d been looking forward to for months.
“I won’t make fun of you for leaving, not seriously.” You nuzzled your face into the top of Wanda’s head before brushing your lips against her temple to hopefully calm her as you felt her fingers skirt over your hips. The actions made her the opposite of calm, but as her shuffling increased, so did your affection. It was a vicious cycle and Wanda was quickly falling behind.
“It’s not what you think.” If you knew the true source of her discomfort, she’d never be able to look you in the eye again. After you allowed her a few long breaths, you pulled her closer, missing how her legs tightened around yours as her clothed center met the top of your thigh. This was certainly how Wanda was going to die, she was sure of it.
“Then what is it? I only want to help, sweetheart.” You wouldn’t if you could see inside my head right now. She didn’t want to lie to you, not ever. Wanda wished you were more intuitive, really; as often as you’re together, you apparently never actually noticed her behavior. It was cute at first, having her little crush, but it was comforting.. the coddling… fuck, she couldn’t last another second. Not without you knowing how it made her feel. This wasn’t where she wanted to tell you, but you’d start to make a scene soon otherwise.
“You and Natasha, mostly you…” Wanda wasn’t looking at you, if she could, she’d surely lose her nerve. She changed a small movement of her hips, rolling them over your leg and hoping you could feel the ever building heat between her legs. You did. And as soon as you did, your concerned frown curled into pure mischief.
You let her fidget for a while, taking a cursory scan of the room before cupping Wanda’s face in your hands. No one was watching, even Natasha was giving all of her attention to the movie; there was no way you could pass this opportunity up. “What’d we do, hm, are you that annoyed with us? All you’ve done is complain about us bugging you all night.”
“That’s not- I’m not annoyed,” She’d hoped that much was clear by now, what with how she’d been rubbing herself on you like a horny teenager for the past few minutes. You weren’t stupid, maybe you’d only just caught on, but you were more than experienced enough to not have to ask what Wanda’s problem was.
“So you’ve been lying? What are you then?” Wanda didn’t say a word, face scrunched as she fought to get out of your grasp. You let her go and for a second, Wanda thought she was free. But then you were grabbing her hips, guiding her into your own pace, slow and deep, and Wanda gasped audibly.
It might’ve been better if you did just laugh and take her off your lap; she was terrible at keeping quiet. “Well it’s.. mostly it’s when you’re nice to me.”
“When am I ever not nice to-” Your brow furrowed, thinking over your behavior until that last piece clicked, your lips falling open in a shocked ‘O.’ Of course Wanda would be into that, of all things. Your heart swelled, now reliving every time she’d wiggled around happily when you’d tucked her into bed, smothered her in kisses, called her the loveliest of names; she was so precious, it hurt. “My darling girl gets off on being babied, is that it?”
It’d be stupid to deny it when her arousal was so obvious now, her underwear soaked and quickly giving way to the thin material of her shorts. You bounced your leg like you had earlier when her response didn’t come immediately and Wanda nearly drew blood biting the inside of her cheek. She couldn’t see anyone else in the room and she didn’t want to; your egotistical demeanor was more than she could take on already. “If you’d stopped like I asked, I’d be fine-”
“Not a chance! We’d be right here and you’d be so upset if I didn’t bring your favorite blanket or made you sit upright next to me. You hate when I’m not giving you my full attention.” Wanda so badly wanted to shout how untrue that was— but she’d be too loud and severely wrong.
You ducked down, peppering her face with kisses, innocent looking enough that anyone would think you’re just comforting your jumpy friend— only you knew Wanda was shaking not from fear, but lust. “Wish you’d told me sooner, I would’ve taken care of you, sweet pea.”
Wanda wanted to hear those words for so long, but actually experiencing them, whispered low in her ear was more than she could ever fantasize. “Then do it..” She grabbed your hand, tugging it further under the blanket between the two of you until you could feel the light cotton on her waist, “ Please? I’ll be good.”
“Yeah? You wanna be my good girl?” She nodded painfully fast, but you didn’t go where she’d hoped, hand skirting around to her backside, gripping her ass. The new angle was as perfect as she could get on a couch in a room full of your sorority sisters; her thighs parted further, neglected clit hitting the top of your leg as you steadily led her along.
Wanda left kisses along your exposed neck, clumsy and messy in her desperation. She longed to push you down, force your leg right where she needed, beg you to sink your fingers where she was currently clenching around nothing… For obvious reasons, she couldn’t  — not here — and it made her so frustrated she could cry. “I know, I know, but you have to keep quiet.”
Much easier said than done; Wanda buried her face in the crook of your neck, muffling the moans she couldn’t force herself to contain any longer. The movie might as well have been yards away, the audio just a dull noise behind her as she worked to find her release on your lap.
You’d known Wanda for years, she wasn’t an open book, but you knew her better than she did. Her grip on your waist tightened, her hips stuttering as she lost focus, “Are you gonna cum?”
You felt more than heard her yes, a low hum of a whimper against your skin. “Go on, I wanna see you cum for me.”
A stray giggle from across the room reminded Wanda of her surroundings, suddenly tense in a bid to hide how close she was to falling apart. “B-But… everyone’s here…”
“Oh, shy little thing.. no one will know, I won’t tell.” True, no one was looking at you, too engrossed in the action on screen or their own side conversations. You’d never dream of saying anything about this anyways; you were never one to brag, especially at Wanda’s expense. “Our little secret, pinky promise.”
It only took a few seconds for Wanda to let go, shaking against you as she sank her teeth into your collarbone. When she settled she realized how uncomfortable she was, too warm under the blanket, but unwilling to look more vulnerable than she already did curled up in your lap. You kept her close, shushing her as Wanda pulled herself together. She could feel her release pooled where she sat, embarrassment creeping up in her chest the longer she had that wet reminder. “Now I’m all sticky…”
“And whose fault is that?” She hated that you pulled her away, even if it was just to give her a cautious once over. You didn’t seem to mind that Wanda ruined one of your favorite pairs of lounge pants, but that didn’t make her feel any better. Your face softened as you took in her awkward squirming and nervous eyes, for as much as you teased her, Wanda really was a delicate little thing. “What’s wrong, baby doll?”
“I don’t want to watch scary movies anymore…” Wanda didn’t regret it, not at all, but where she’d let it happen was possibly the most risky thing she’d done her entire life and while she seemingly hadn’t been caught, she was mortified as the mess she’d made.
“Want me to take you upstairs?” Gentle thumbs smoothed over Wanda’s cheeks, feeling their lingering heat under your fingertips. Your favorite movie was up next, but you wouldn’t enjoy it with Wanda so unsettled and it wasn’t in your nature to send anyone off after sex, especially Wanda. Never her. “I’ll get you all cleaned up, then we can sit in bed and watch whatever you want, does that sound better?”
She agreed instantly of course, the offer of having you all to herself once more too good to pass up. Wanda was being selfish, she knew it, but she’d always been this way when it came to you. This time when you held her to your chest it was so you could stand, securing her legs around your midsection, arms under her for support.
The movie was at its climax, making it easy to slip away without anyone noticing, well, mostly everyone. As you rounded the back of the couch Natasha caught your attention. Wanda didn’t notice, her face firmly attached to your shoulder to avoid accidentally making eye contact with anyone who might’ve caught her being quite literally carried away, but you felt your friend swat at your thigh when you walked past.
You only looked down for a moment, not wanting to worry the girl in your arms, but the split second you locked eyes was enough to catch Natasha’s satisfied grin. “Fucking finally, I was getting tired of bothering Wanda every day.”

Warnings: Discussions of body image issues, alcohol use, I think that might be everything?
Author’s Note: Sorry this is so long - I started writing and kept going. It’s been a busy few days so I haven’t been writing as much but hopefully I’ll be back to it now :)
———
The thing about being in the celebrity world was that, eventually, everyone was connected. Whether it was a friend of a friend who worked with another guy on a film ten years ago, or it was a neighbour’s neighbour - everyone eventually got to someone else. That’s how you’d met the majority of the people that you considered friends in the industry. You’d released your first album three years ago but it still felt like you were taking your first steps in being ‘famous’. Thankfully, you’d met some good people - Kelsea had become like a sister to you and she’d taken you under her wing instantly. Since she’d started dating Chase, too, she’d been introducing you to more and more people - notably, Drew. She knew that you two would hit it off when she introduced you at a party and you clicked almost instantly, spending the entire night talking in a booth away from the crowd. Since then, he texted you everyday, he’d become the guy you rang when you were walking home or in a taxi on your own, the one you texted to say a quick ‘home safe’. He sent you stupid videos he found online, and facetimed you to listen to him run his lines, or when he needed help with what to wear to an event. Drew was just… nice, you know?
“Okay, sorry, I’m back,” His face pops back into the frame of the facetime call as he sits back down on the couch and picks up his phone from where it was sat pointing up towards the ceiling, “My food arrived.”
“What did you order?” You ask, propping your phone up against the coffee machine on your counter so that you could open your own bag of takeout food.
“I went for chinese food,” He grins, pulling out the boxes of takeout.
“Me too,” You laugh, “But the good place was closed so I had to order from the kind of shitty one.”
“You hate the kind of shitty one, you’re going to eat the chicken and say that it’s a bit dry and that your rice doesn’t have enough flavor, and then you’re going to complain that your takeout night was ruined.”
You narrow your eyes at him through the screen, “That happened one time! How do you even remember that?”
Drew chuckles and sets his phone down so that he can eat, leaning it against the lamp beside his couch so that he’s still visible in the frame, “I remember things (Y/L/N).”
“Okay, which film did you choose?”
“Oh, I picked a terrible one, you’re going to love it. And I think if we try a few times we’ll be able to get the timing perfect this time.”
~~~
“Okay so what are we actually going to tonight?” You ask Kelsea, laying back against the cushions on her bed as she potters around the room, deciding on her outfit.
“It’s a party, I don’t know anything more than that,” She laughs, “It’s meant to be good though, it seems like everyone in LA is going.”
“I don’t like these things, they’re so stressful,” You grumble, pulling the hood of your hoodie up over your head.
“Well maybe if you started getting ready you’d feel more up for it a-“
She’s cut off by the sound of a key in the door, followed by two familiar voices laughing as they walk in. The pair round the corner and you’re met with the sight of Chase and Drew coming into the apartment.
“Hey honey,” Chase grins when he sees Kelsea, going over to kiss her quickly, wrapping an arm around her waist.
“Hey (Y/N),” Drew wiggles his brows, slipping off his shoes and flopping down onto the bed next to you, he looks at you and puckers his lips exaggeratively.
“Grow up,” You roll your eyes, turning around so you can rest your head against his chest sideways, your legs dangling off the side of the bed as he stretches down the length of the mattress.
“(Y/N) I need you to talk some sense into Drew here,” Chase encourages, “He doesn’t want to come tonight.”
“I mean, I’m not up for it yet either,” You shrug, “I need like a shot or two and then I’ll be more in the mood to party.”
“Shots, okay, we can do shots,” Chase nods, “How about you two can start getting ready, and we’ll make dinner, and we’ll get some drinks. Sound good?”
“I didn’t agree to make dinner,” Drew points out, “Frankly I can’t think of anything worse.”
You reach a hand back to poke at his ribs and he flinches back from you, locking an arm around your neck and shoulders to trap you against him. He uses his other arm to tickle at your sides until you’re writhing underneath his touch.
“Drew!” You squeal, fighting to get away from him, your legs flailing.
Chase and Kelsea look at each other with a knowing expression, like they were watching the start of a film they already knew the ending to - a sort of inevitability that it seemed impossible to avoid.
~~~
You spend the next hour or two getting ready with Kelsea, changing your outfit three times before settling on one - a black crop top with spaghetti straps and a pair of wide leg black pants, heels underneath that were practically hidden by the excess length of the trousers.
“You guys ready to go? The uber’s here!” Chase calls out, knocking a couple of times on the door of the bedroom before poking it open just an inch or two before opening it fully, “Alright, good to go?”
“Yeah, yeah, let’s go,” Kelsea nods, smoothing her hands over her dress.
When she goes over to him, he wraps an arm around her and tells her she looks beautiful, kissing her shoulder. You follow behind and see Drew waiting for you as the other two leave just ahead.
“Well don’t you scrub up well,” He grins, reaching out his elbow for you to link an arm with his, still taller than you even with your heels on.
“Not so bad yourself, Starkey,” You laugh, holding your hand around his bent arm to help you walk with him.
“Okay, so, how long do we have to stay at this thing tonight?” Drew asks, stepping forward and reaching out a hand for you to take as you’re about to descend the stairs.
“Come on, it’ll be fine, at least we know a few people that will be there,” You point out, “Can’t be that bad.”
“You’ll be regretting saying that later, I promise,” He shakes his head, waving his hand a little more in front of you, “Come on, hurry up.”
He’s wearing a dark green button up shirt and black carpenter jeans, baggy around his legs. It seems to darken the features of his face, defining the freckles around his nose and cheeks, lessening the normal brightness in his eyes. His hair is growing out now from him shaving it for Outer Banks and you’re sure it gives him an innocence beyond what anyone else saw. You loved it most when it was messy, a hundred directions on his head, a sort of carelessness to it.
“Are you coming or what?”
It’s Chase that calls up from the bottom of the stairwell. And you realise for all of the time you’d been staring at Drew, admiring him, he’d been staring at you too.
~~~
The party is already busy when you arrive and there’s people queuing up outside to try to get in. Drew links arms with you as you get out of the car, like he’s constantly scared you’re on the brink of falling whenever you’re in heels. It’s in a club, already littered with tens too many bodies, and music that pounds from the walls, chatter drowned out by the noise.
“Let’s go get us some drinks,” Drew says into your ear and he moves his hand from your arm to press on the small of your back, guiding you in front of him as if he would shield you from the growing crowd behind.
You slip through non-existent gaps in the crowd until you eventually break through to the bar, waiting in the queue with Drew behind you. His hand falls to your waist, his body towering over you from behind and his eyes seemingly on full alert for everything and everyone around you.
“A tequila sprite and a rum and coke please,” You call over the bar to the server who nods at you with a smile, taking two glasses to prepare the drinks.
Drew shifts into the space beside you and leans his forearms on the bar, “Are you trying to get me-“
“Hey!” It’s a voice from beside him that interjects, a girl.
She’s about your age, you think, with makeup that you’re certain you couldn’t match even with the best products. She must be a model, and her outfit is like something straight from a runway. You’re suddenly aware of how itchy your top feels around your chest, and how your trousers don’t seem to be sitting in the right place on your waist anymore. But you ignore it, turning back to the bartender as he pours in the rest of your drink.
“Have we met before?” She asks to Drew, her hand falling to his upper arm.
He looks at her with a frown, “No, no, I don’t think so. I guess I would remember if we did.”
“Well, yours is a face I definitely wouldn’t forget,” She smiles in return, “Who did you come with tonight?”
“Just a few friends,” He returns.
You pause with the drinks glasses in your hand, suddenly hyperaware of how the condensation seems to scratch with the cold against your palms. A few friends. He wasn’t wrong. You and him were just friends, right?
“Well, maybe if your friends don’t mind you could come and dance with me,” The girl smiles, her hand not yet moving from his arm.
“Yeah, well, maybe I’ll see you around.”
With that, she disappears and Drew turns back in your direction, raising his eyebrows at you.
“Oh, um, here,” You clear your throat, stretching out an arm to give him his drink.
He takes it from you and smiles, taking a sip, “Alright, should we go find the other two?”
You nod and follow behind him in the crowd, he stretches an open hand back as if offering for you to take it but you pause before doing so. It was still undecided in your mind if that was a good thing or a bad thing that he’d been so completely nonchalant. Like that had just happened and it didn’t mean anything. Did it not mean anything because he wasn’t trying to flirt back? Or did it not mean anything because he didn’t think you should care if he was flirting?
After a second too long without your hold, Drew turns back to look for you, eyes flicking between you and his empty hand as if reminding you that he needed to know you were there. You place your hand in his palm and let his fingers wrap around you, not making any move to hold his hand back, just yet.
You meet up with Kelsea and Chase and end up on the dancefloor. Your drink is finished by now and so is another and another, and at some point you’d all done two rounds of shots. Drew is dancing beside you, his arm bumping yours as he moves, trying to make you laugh with every exaggerated dance, or every effort to shout the lyrics of every song he recognised.
At some point, a group of girls are dancing beside you and one of them reaches out to tap Drew on the shoulder. He turns around one another of the girls reaches a hand out for him to take, spinning herself around and starting to dance with him. Chase nudges you and points in that direction as if you hadn’t seen it in the first place, watching as Drew gets engulfed by the group, dancing with them as they laugh at his moves. Kelsea glances in your direction and her brows drop as if concerned, as if worried for your reaction. You force yourself to smile at her and tear your eyes away from Drew, taking a long sip of your drink.
This was silly. You couldn’t keep thinking about this. But the more you thought about not thinking it, the more you thought about it. And you found yourself looking to the group of girls more and more often. They were all in different dresses, and you were sure you recognised their faces from the TikToks that could come up on your for you page of ‘get ready with me’ videos or ‘get dressed with me to go to…’ videos, another two of them you’ve seen at a fashion week before. They’re gorgeous. Their makeup still looks pristine even after hours of being in this hot club. And you’re suddenly aware of how yours is starting to feel more obvious on your face, how your foundation probably doesn’t look as good as it did when you left. How the curl of your lashes has probably dropped by now, your lipgloss non existent. You’re thinking of everything.
When you look back again, Drew’s leaning down to the height of one of the girls so that she can speak into his ear. He laughs at something she’s said and pulls away slightly, his eyes catching yours as his gaze flicks away from her. He smiles but you find yourself looking away before you can think to smile back, feeling slightly less comfortable amongst the party of unknown people.
~~~
You’d stayed at Kelsea’s that night, sleeping in her spare room, and you’re up before she is, a cup of coffee in hand as you’re sat on her balcony.
“Hey, honey,” Her voice cuts in as you’re halfway through your cup of coffee, “How long have you been up?”
“Not long, the pot’s still full if you want some,” You smile, tucking your feet underneath you on the chair.
“I’ll grab some in a minute,” Kelsea responds, sitting down on the other chair, “So, how are you doing after last night?”
You look at her and ponder giving a dismissive response but her face is too genuine to try and lie to, “I- I don’t know how to feel.”
“Okay, well I’m just going to start this by saying you’re allowed to feel upset, if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“I don’t know if I am though Kels, like me and Drew are just friends - why would I think that I have any place to feel any type of way about him and girls from clubs, you know?” You shake your head, taking a sip of your coffee to stop your bottom lip from trembling, “I just… me and him… I’ve never seen him with girls like that, so I didn’t know what to think.”
Kelsea nods, knowing to let you speak before she says her piece.
“I know we’re friends, and that’s fine. But I just saw those girls and I saw the way they were with him and they looked so… and they had this like confidence and they just…” You take in a shaky breath, “I’m not them. I’m not going to be them.”
“Oh honey!” Kelsea comes off from her chair and crouches in front of you, her hands on your knees, “(Y/N) you don’t need to be them. Drew doesn’t want you to be them. Do you know that? I see the way he is with you, the way he talks about you, that’s not the way you talk about someone if you’re just friends. Those girls, the club, last night, they were coming up to him, he wanted to be with you. I know he did.”
You want to believe her. But even the mention of his name forces the thoughts of last night back into your head, cycling through them like snapshot images, each one a little clearer and stinging just a little more.
“I’ll be okay,” You reach one of your hands down to squeeze Kelsea’s, “It was just one night. It’s okay.”
She furrows her brows and rubs her thumb over your knee, “Alright, I’m going to go and wake Chase up before he’s late for his press stuff.”
Kelsea disappears back inside and you sip down the rest of your coffee, drawing your legs up to your chest and trying to breathe out the tightness between your lungs, blinking away the blur of tears from your eyes.
~~~
It’s a day later when you realise you can only go so long avoiding Drew - perhaps less time than you’d originally thought that it would take. He had texted you a bunch yesterday, originally a good morning text, then turning into a couple of videos he thought were funny, ending the video string with one about when ‘the one person you speak to doesn’t reply’. By the night, he sent you one message saying that he was starting to get worried now that you hadn’t replied, and that he just wanted to check if you were okay. Today, he had called you in the morning and then followed up from his other text saying he was probably just being stupid but he wanted to make sure you were good. You reply with a simple;
Just been busy, got studio sessions coming up. Speak soon
You debate sending a heart at the end but delete it before pressing send. He reads it straight away and responds;
Fuck me I’m just glad you’re alive, felt weird going more than a day without speaking to you!! Hope your studio sessions go well, superstar <;3
You like the message and lock your phone, the same tightness settling on your chest as you’d had at the club, as you’d had yesterday morning. Your breath turns shaky again and you try to ignore it.
The next few days go relatively the same - Drew texts you in the morning, sends you something that reminds you of him or tells you to listen to a song that he’s found. You reply a few hours later with a short response or just react to the message, not wanting conversations to carry on like they normally do.
Another couple of days in, he calls you as you’re leaving the gym and you wait for it to go to voicemail, listening to it as soon as the notification comes through.
“Hey, superstar. I wasn’t sure if I’d get through to you, but I’m guessing you’re busy, um, just calling to say… well, I don’t know what I’m calling to say. Just that I miss you, I mean it’s only been a few days but… I don’t know. Feels weird not talking to you, so call me when you get the chance, let’s make plans or something. Alright, I’ll leave you to… well, I don’t know what you’re doing, which is weird, it feels like I always know what’s going on with you… um … whatever, call me back, or don’t if you don’t want to, I don’t know I-“
It cuts off after that and you’re just met with the monotone voice of your voicemail asking if you want to repeat the message. You listen to it once, twice again, finding comfort in the sound of his voice for those digital seconds.
Your finger hovers over his contact as you think of calling him back but you shift it to the text button instead.
hey! sorry i didn’t get to my phone in time - just been busy with the new album so the days are just going too fast. not sure when i’ll be free, i’m sorry
He reads it instantly and the elipsis bubble appears to say he is typing, disappearing and then reappearing a couple of times.
i told you not to forget me when you were famous (y/l/n). I miss you!!!!
You bite your bottom lip to stop yourself from crying at the words, reluctant to try to come up with any response that would feel fitting.
speak soon !!
~~~
It’s another week later when Kelsea invites you over for dinner, one of those sort of ‘no isn’t an option’ invites. You turn up with a bottle of wine and she wraps you in a bear hug when she sees you, a hand on your shoulder before she lets you come into the apartment.
“What’s going on?” You frown, looking at the slightly panicked expression on her face.
“Okay, don’t be mad,” She winces, “But Chase didn’t realise you were coming tonight and Drew’s here before they go out for dinner with the cast. He’s been asking about you.”
You shrug your shoulders, shake your head, “No, it’s okay, don’t worry. We’re friends, it’s fine.”
She furrows her brows a little, “Are you sure?”
“Of course!” You force a smile that you’re certain is believable enough and she must believe you, leading the way into the kitchen where there’s already a dinner cooking on the stove.
“Hey (Y/N)!” Chase gets up as you walk in, hugging you quickly.
You hug him back and, over his shoulder, spot the sight of Drew standing from his chair at the kitchen island.
“Hey stranger!” He raises his brows, “Where’ve you been?”
“Just a busy couple of weeks,” You nod, tightening your grip around the bottle of wine, “Been a bit M.I.A I guess.”
“Yeah, just a little,” He smiles softly, his eyes seeming to yearn for a little piece of you to come back to him, “Well it’s good to see you.”
You clear your throat, “You too.”
You try not to notice the way he watches you as you cross the kitchen, taking your jacket off and finding a bottle opener in the drawer to open the wine. You avoid eye contact when he watches your move to grab a glass from the shelf, pouring a portion of the liquid into the glass and swirling it around.
When you take a seat at the island, it’s the one furthest away from him. And when his eyes find yours then, it’s like they’re full of worry for his defeat - like this had just confirmed every thought that had been going through his head for the past week and a half. You, once again, find yourself trying to ignore the tightness in your chest, the way it restricts your breath as if he’s pulled it into him. Your eyes turn away from him as soon as you can force yourself to.
You’re just leaving Kelsea’s that night when you see the call come through. You’re almost a full bottle of wine in and it’s late as you’re descending the elevator to get to your Uber.
Your phone buzzes and your lowered inhibitions are the only reason you answer.
“Hello?”
“(Y/N),” His voice sounds slightly breathless on the other end of the phone, “You answered.”
“What’s happening Rafe?”
“Um…” He clears his throat and it crackles down the phone line, “Chase just said that Kelsea texted saying you were heading home. I figured you’d be getting a taxi.”
“I am,” You return, “I’m going down to it now.”
“I always call you when you’re getting a taxi.”
You swallow the lump in your throat, “No, you don’t need to-“
“I always do (Y/N). We’ve known each other for seven months, and I always call when you’re in the taxi, why wouldn’t I?”
“Have you been drinking, Drew?”
“Have you?”
Both of you are silent.
“Is that the only reason you answered?” He asks and you’re sure you can hear a shake in the words.
You don’t respond.
“What’s going on, (Y/N)?” There’s definitely a shake now, somewhere close to a tremble, “Why does it feel like I’m losing you?”
“You’re not losing me I’ve just been b-“
“Don’t say you’ve been busy,” He quips, “You’re always busy, but you always make time. This isn’t that, this is different.”
You’re silent.
“Answer me (Y/N),” He doesn’t raise his voice, but the tension in his words seems heightened, harsher.
“Are you free tomorrow?”
“I’m free now,” He responds, “I’ll be at yours in half an hour.”
It might be the remaining buzz of alcohol in your system, or the sight of your taxi driver turning into the road, your way home, to Drew, but you don’t think twice when you say;
“Okay.”
~~~
A painfully slow thirty minutes later, Drew buzzes your front door to come up to your flat. He lets himself in and you’re sat waiting as if counting the seconds of him ascending in the elevator. You’ve drank a bottle of water by now and the wait has seemed to sober you up quicker than usual. And then there’s a knock at your apartment door and you’re sure your heart stops as you open it.
He’s wearing a shirt that’s unbuttoned at the top, wrinkled around the bottom from where it had been tucked in but wasn’t anymore. He looks disheveled as if he’d rushed to get here before the minutes caught up with him, or perhaps before you changed your mind.
“Hi,”
“Hi,” He breathes out, “You look beautiful.”
You were wearing a baggy t-shirt that hung around your thighs, a pair of gym shorts underneath, your hair pulled back from your face in a bun with strands seeming to fall out on their own accord, no makeup on your face but your cheeks rosy from the wine in your system.
“Do you want to come in?”
He steps through your front door and you step past him to close it. Drew doesn’t make any effort to move further and neither do you. He’s just stood in your hallway looking at you and you’re stood with your back a few feet from the front door, somewhat feeling isolated now you knew he wasn’t leaving.
“What’s going on (Y/N)?” His shoulders drop as if he just needed to get the words off of his chest, a relief slipping over his features to finally say the words to your face.
“I-“ You take in a deep breath, “I just feel like things are weird between us.”
“They’re weird, yeah,” He scoffs, “They’re weird because you’ve been avoiding me.”
Drew laughs then and you find yourself letting out a little laugh too, the two of you gripping onto the pieces of normality that still remained.
“Did something happen at that party? Because I’ve been wracking my brain and that’s the last night I can remember where it felt like things were normal. And since then I’ve barely seen you. Did something happen? Did I do something? Did I say something?”
You shake your head and wrap your arms around yourself as if you’re cowering away from the idea of having to admit to anything.
“(Y/N)…”
“I hated it-“ You stop yourself, letting your thoughts gather, “We were at that party and I hated it. These girls were flocking to you and flirting with you and chatting to you and all I could think about was how much I hated it. Which is stupid because I have no reason to feel like that but I couldn’t help it and then I hated that I felt like that because I-“
“(Y/N), breathe,” Drew steps towards you, his hand reaching out and lacing with yours.
The contact seems to ground you, his eyes burning into your skin but somehow seeming to calm the raging fire of your nerves.
“I know I have no reason to be jealous, I know that, but I just,” You shake your head, “I was jealous.”
“You were jealous,” Drew returns, the corners of his mouth upturning with the slightest glimpse of brightness on his features.
“It’s stupid because I know we’re just friends and I know that I don’t want to lose that and-“
“You were jealous,” He’s really fighting back a smile now, but it seems to fight harder against him as his lips stretch into a grin.
You look up at him then, your eyes locking with his, you’re sure you forget how to breathe for just a second.
“Why didn’t you just tell me?” His brows furrow for a second but he doesn’t seem to lose the joy on his face.
“I just-“ You look down again, “I didn’t want things to be weird between us, or for you to lie and say that you felt the same way.”
Drew moves his free hand up and presses a thumb underneath your chin, his index finger bending around the front to push your chin upwards, guiding your eyes towards him, guiding you back to him. His eyes are sincere, flicking between either of yours.
“It wouldn’t be a lie.”
You open your mouth and close it again, words catching on your tongue as you’re sure your whole body is going to freeze in this exact spot. Perhaps it wouldn’t be such a bad thing - to stay in this moment.
“But maybe next time you’re feeling jealous, just tell me. Does that sound good to you?” He dips his head just slightly, his fingers not moving from around your chin.
You laugh lightly and nod your head, “That sounds good.”
He chuckles and moves his hand around to cup your cheek, his thumb rubbing over the skin, “And those girls? They’re not you.”
You feel your cheeks heat under his touch, his gaze, his words, “Not me?”
Drew shakes his head, “I don’t think anyone could come close,” He hums, dropping his head closer to you until his lips are just an inch from you, breath hot over your features.
In just a second, his lips press to yours, softly as if savouring the feeling of the first time. His hand moves from yours to instead drop to your hip, guiding you backwards until your back is flush against the door. With the contact, he deepens his kiss against your lips, his fingers slipping back into your hair.
When he pulls away, you’re both a little breathless against each other.
“God I’ve waited so long to do that,” He mumbles, pressing his forehead against yours, a smile crawling onto his lips.
“Next time please don’t wait so long,” You laugh, your arms moving to link your hands behind his neck.
“I don’t plan on it,” Drew smirks, dipping his head once again to kiss you, more sure of himself than before.
And, then, you’re sure. You’d stay locked in this moment if you could.
There’s Honey On The Moon Tonight
F!Reader X Kaoru Hanayama
Maaaaan it’s been so long and I am SO sorry. I kinda got out of my groove for a bit and life got overwhelming and draining, hence the radio silence. I wanted to come back with a little fic to get me back into the swing of things and since I have wanted to write for Hanayama for some time, this came about. It was based around a yandere prompt I saw that was “I love you so much, you have no idea what limits I would go to prove that to you.” I actually started writing this for Jack, had all kinds of issues, and decided to write it for Hanayama instead lol. I may still possibly post the little Jack fic I plucked at, but I am overall pretty meh about it so we’ll see. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really want to work on writing some shorter stuff for a while. I am so in awe of all of you that can churn out these small masterpieces. My ass does NOT know when to shut up and when I start to write my brain is like no… You must explain EVERYTHING, which (whether my mind believes it or not) is not something that needs to be done. ( ͜。 ͡ʖ ͜。) So going through a lot of trying to unlearn that.
ANYWAY I will be quiet and leave this hear for your perusal. It is my gift for coming home (finally) and working to get back up to speed! Thank you all for reading anything I write, and thank you if you like it! I am constantly floored by how wonderful you all are, and I appreciate anyone that reads my stuff more than you all know. (╥﹏╥)
This fic is set a few years in the future, you and Hanayama are both adults and at this point he is even more of a Yakuza big shot. You play the starring role of his forced little mob princess wife, isn’t that sweet? I love romance! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა
WARNINGS: Yandere, very dubcon (dare I say even noncon?), power imbalances, grooming, unwanted touching/kissing/heavy petting, forced marriage, mentions of violence and hints of cruelty, mentions of sex.
Some people may call this ‘the dream life’.
Sitting on this private beach, you soaked in the last of the sun’s rays before it dipped beyond your view. The world was bathed in a swirl of pinks and oranges as the sun sunk into the sea, the gentle lap of the waves coming so close the water nearly touched your toes. The sand beneath your feet was soft, still warmed by the quickly setting sun. Gulls cooed as they circled above you, the flap of their wings diminishing as they began to fly off for the night. You were envious of them as you watched them soar freely, pained by how easily they could fly away to their home.
If only you could be so lucky.
Drops of salt water dotted your arms, mingling with what was left of your sunscreen. Though you had long since applied it, the remnants of the lotion and sea water left a slightly uncomfortable film on your skin, flaking under your nails when you scratched at it. A gust of wind blew, sending a chill through you. Absentmindedly you wondered if despite your preparations, you had been burned.
“Do you plan to stay out here all night?”
Your breath caught in your throat, an all too familiar voice shattering the tranquility of the evening. You had been so caught up in your thoughts that you didn’t notice the lumbering form coming up behind you, his arrival marking the end of your solitude.
Another gust of wind blew causing you to shudder once more. As it whipped wildly around you, your body grew colder. It was an unwelcome feeling, especially when just moments ago you were surrounded by such blissful warmth.
If only you could have just a few more minutes to yourself…
It had been a peaceful day, the nicest one you had had on this little honeymoon of yours. Kaoru Hanayama, your newly appointed husband, had been occupied most of the day, leaving you to your own devices.  The peace that awarded was something you sorely needed, seeing as none of this was anything you had ever agreed to willingly.
But now that he had returned all the contentment you had felt moments prior had been drained away, the joy of this island paradise tainted by his unwanted presence.
The night Kaoru proposed he had told you that he could not imagine living a life without you by his side, that his love for you had grown so rampantly that he could no longer bear the thought of not having you officially. He had long since coerced you into being his lover, leaving marriage the logical next step. Brandishing a ring so extravagant it bordered on gaudy, Kaoru got down on one knee. The upper echelon of the Hanayama group surrounded you in a constricting, tight circle, each set of eyes on you fixated on the scene with great interest… Thinking back on it, you had no idea how you didn’t pass out from sheer anxiety.
At that point, you were doomed to become his blushing, beautiful bride.
To you, Kaoru was husband in name only. This marriage would be just another trial that had been forced upon you since meeting the man, his ceaseless infatuation continually ripping your life asunder.  Needless to say, when he was off doing some important ‘family’ related things that ate up the majority of the day you didn’t have many complaints about his absence.
When he had departed this morning you did your best to look forlorn as he kissed you goodbye, shoulders slightly slumped as he ducked through the door, off to do god knows what to god knows who. Even as his now wife, you were never made privy to his ‘business’ dealings. So much of his life was shrouded in mystery, and you were just fine keeping it unknown.
You preferred when Kaoru was bogged down by work. If he was otherwise preoccupied that meant you had no expectation to be latched to his side, forced to play the role of obedient, doting wife. You abhorred the part you played in his life almost as much as you detested the man himself. It took years of whittling you down, making you shed piece after piece of yourself until you were everything he envisioned you would be, his perfect partner. He had molded you into his ideal love, and even though you knew you were sinking to a depth you were unsure you could ever escape, there was nothing you could do to stop it. It was hard going against a man who had the whole Yakuza at his fingertips, and the threat someone of Hanayama’s caliber posed against your family and friends was too high to risk insubordination.
So you acquiesced to his heavy handed flirting, playing along with his awkward and curt stabs at romance. You dropped everything for Hanayama, not because you wanted to, but because he expected it. And if there was one thing you gleaned about the mob life these past few years, it was what the boss wanted, the boss got.
He needed you in every way he could have you. You never had the option of saying no.
A heavy sigh came from behind you, annoyance radiating from your husband when you didn’t acknowledge him. Despite the irritation, the words he spoke came surprisingly gentle. “It’s time to come inside, (name). Dinner has arrived, it will be ready for us shortly.”
You wrapped your towel tightly around your shoulders, and with a deep shuddering breath, rose to your feet.
~
Silence hung heavy over the dinner table.
The meal Hanayama had served was nothing short of gourmet. ‘Only the finest for the finest’ was something he once joked to you, but he held firm to that ideal with every aspect of your life. The Oyabun’s wife was spared no expense, why would your meals be any different?  A caterer must have come with him to set the table up when Kaoru first arrived home, as it was set in a way that was far too charming for just him to pull off. Flowers and delicate candles garnished the surface, giving the whole room a romantic feel. Condiments and spices stood within arm’s reach, concealed in aesthetically pleasing containers, ready to season the cuisine as you saw fit.
Sighing lightly, you raised your glass for another sip of champagne. Even with the pretty presentation, you lacked the appetite to enjoy the meal. Picking at it lazily, you swirled the food around to make it appear as though you had eaten more than you had, like a child desperate to meet their parent’s approval so they could leave the table.
“Aren’t you hungry,” Kaoru’s deep voice finally interjected, his own feasting halted to shoot you a questioning glance. “You’ve barely touched your dinner. I thought you liked this restaurant? I chose to cater from them to please you.”
“Sorry,” You gave him a forced smile, “The food is delicious, but I think I may have snacked too much today, so I don’t have much of an appetite right now.”
You always had to choose your words carefully with Kaoru, his doting had a tendency to become overbearing if he believed you to be suffering from any ills. The last thing you needed was him fretting over you missing a dinner.  “I’ll have to box it up soon, that way I’ll have something to look forward to tomorrow.”
He grunted in response and an uneasy quiet once more loomed over the table. Hanayama did not seem totally appeased by your excuse, and refrained from placing his focus back on his meal. Dark, steely eyes bore holes into you as you sat hunched over, fixing your focus on anything but him.
“(Name)...”
He waited a moment before continuing, a look of brief tension flashing across his features.
“I know you are upset with me for leaving you alone all day, but you must know that I am sorry… Will you forgive me?”
To most people, this would be a shocking sight. It was highly unusual for a man like Kaoru Hanayama to be asking forgiveness so modestly, in fact, you were more apt to be groveling at his feet begging mercy than ever hearing the man beg pardon.
But things were different with you, they always had been. Try as he might to harden the soft spot he had for you, he never could seem to bring himself to give you the same detached treatment he gave others. And while his love for you was something he quite proudly displayed, he also refused to let his affections make either of you a target.
Being the Oyabun’s cherished wife put you in danger, his devotion to you making your demise extremely appealing to his enemies. The knowledge that your death would be a huge blow to the indomitable Hanayama was not lost on any who opposed him, but the problem laid in ever getting close to you. He certainly made it hard for anyone trying, finding a moment when you weren’t glued to his side was rare, finding you completely alone even more so.
However catching you by your lonesome was not entirely impossible, and leaving you vulnerable and ripe for assaulting was not something Kaoru could live with.
To combat this threat, he chose to lock you away so that no one could hurt you, touch you, see you, or ever be near enough to harm you. You were his and his alone, and he would let no other soul take you from him.
Ever since you had become ‘official’, the only people besides Hanayama ever allowed to have any correspondence with you were his closest inner circle and occasionally your family. But even then, Kaoru made sure he was always close by to monitor, hovering near to insure nothing untoward or upsetting could happen to you.
In your mind, the isolation hardly seemed necessary. No one ever questioned Hanayama’s might-one look at the man was all you needed to ascertain that he was a terrifyingly powerful figure. When you were in his vicinity your safety became his only care, any risk to that transforming him into a downright beast, bloodthirsty and rage filled beyond compare. Any unfortunate idiot wandering your way who held even a smidge of bad intent was in for a world of excruciating pain, followed by a slow and agonizing death.
But alone, in your own shared space away from prying eyes and hidden dangers, traces of that monster were nowhere to be found. When it’s just the two of you, Kaoru lets himself be overcome with his fondness for you, serenity overtaking his brute side. This display of vulnerability, these small moments of sickening intimacy, he saves solely for you, blanketing them upon you in suffocating layers until you can scarcely breathe.
“It was wrong of me to do,” He reached across the table, his thick hand encompassing yours in a tight grip. “A matter required my utmost attention, but it was not fair to leave my wife at any point during our honeymoon. This time is reserved for you and me alone, and I went against that. I just want you to know that I only left because I had to, and that I hurried back the moment I was able. I hope you can forgive me.”
If you could have done so consequence free, you would have burst out laughing. Of all the wrongs Hanayama had committed against you, giving you breathing room was the most minor of offences.
“It’s alright Kaoru,” you shook your head, keeping your voice even “I understand, and I’m not upset at you. I spent most of my day out enjoying the ocean while you had to get work done, so really I’m the one who should feel sorry for you in this situation, right?”
He smiled at your jest, a sparkle in his eyes as they drank you in.
“You are always my top priority,” Releasing your hand, he went to cup your cheek, engulfing the entirety of it. His calloused thumb pressed in a bit too hard as he stroked you, scratching at the soft skin of your cheeks apple. His hold was deeply uncomfortable, but you dared not move. “Don’t forget that, (name). Never question how much I treasure you.”
A chill ran through you at the intensity of his words, the rough feel of his palm reminding you of each violation his hands had ever committed against you. You watched as his eyes darted to your lips, a different kind of hunger overtaking his expression as he began to lean towards you, eager for a kiss. In a slight panic, you readjusted yourself, creating a moment to break away.
“W-well, I really need to get this boxed up,” you spoke, pushing off the table until you were standing. Hanayama’s hand lingered in the air for a brief moment, still savoring the memory of holding you. An aggravated look flashed through his eyes, but was gone as quick as it came. “I don’t want to keep it out too long or else it will go bad. I’ll go grab a box.”
If there was going to be a time to escape him for the evening, this was it. You sprang into action, darting around the table as you made your way to the kitchen. The faster you could box up this meal, the faster you could excuse yourself and leave the room while Hanayama took his time finishing. Though it only would buy you a few minutes of privacy in the long run, any time to yourself was worth the effort.
But just before you could completely round the table, a tight grip around your waist snatched you from your course. In an instant you were tugged to the side, plucked up and planted until you were straddling one of your husband’s girthy legs.
Before your brain could even fully register what had happened, he was on you. Desirous, sloppy kisses littered your face as a salacious grin spread across his lips, a low growl rumbling from his chest with each smack of his lips. Your head was spinning at the speed it all occurred, a protesting whine all you could muster as his lips feverishly claimed yours.
Sweat mingled with the scent of his cologne, the heady scent a sign that his actions were quickly and effectively getting him riled up. Overcome with the essence of him, you could do little to fight his intrusion of your personal space, your balled fists pressing against his chest doing all they could to try and create distance. His tongue worked violently, the muscle forcing itself inside you until you were nearly choking on it. Your whole body was thrumming with discontent over how quickly Hanayama came to control your every sensation, his sheer mass totally overpowering all that you were.
The feverish grip he had on your hips kept you rooted, grasping you as if you were his lifeline. Bruises were already starting to form around the press of his fingers, your flesh searing in his hot hold. His hands began to forcibly gyrate your body, rocking you against his leg so that the short skirt you donned had ridden up completely, the sheer fabric of your panties the only thing keeping you from the raw friction of his leg. Your breath hitched as he jostled you against him, small pulses of unwanted pleasure resulting from the action.
His lips parted from yours, moving to latch on your neck. A dull ache emanated from the area he sucked, the bruises he had marked you with days prior not yet completely healed. Without warning, he bit into the tender flesh, causing you to jolt. A dark chuckle rumbled from within him at your response, his tongue laving up the small trail of blood the fresh wound had inflicted.
“My pretty wife,” he murmured in your ear, brushing the straps of your top off your shoulders, “Being apart from you made this day seem never ending. I longed for the moment I could come back and have you all to myself.”
He grabbed one of your hands off his chest, trailing it down his body until coming to a rest on the growing bulge of his crotch. He released a shuddering breath as he thrust against your unwilling palm, his hand guiding yours to trail his length through his tightening pants. Dread gripped you as he began to harden under your touch, his already impressive size growing with each hesitant stroke. Feeling him throb beneath you made your stomach turn, a horrible precursor to the pain you were about to endure.
“Feel what you do to me?” He rasped in your ear, hot breath fanning your neck, “This is all for you.”
“Please Kaoru, I-” Your meek voice began to object, but was cut off by another domineering kiss.
“You don’t have to beg me,” his voice was growing more ragged, breathing becoming choppier the harder he grinded your body against his, “Let me spoil you tonight, it’s the least my beautiful wife deserves for being such a good, patient girl for me.”
Unable to stand the torment of your touches any longer, he stood, throwing you over his shoulder in a display you could almost call barbaric. Making his way towards the bedroom, he smacked your ass harshly, eliciting a pleased hum at the pained gasp the act had garnered.
“I was going to offer dessert after our meal, but you have presented something much sweeter to me,” he chuckled as he entered the bedroom, tossing you to the awaiting bed, “And what you offer is something I would much rather devour.”
Tears stung your eyes as you watched Kaoru begin to shed his clothing, his scarred body coming more into view with each piece of fabric he cast aside.
“Get undressed,” he ordered, lust dripping from his features. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, before shooting you a cocky grin, “I can wait no longer. I love you so much, and you have no idea the limit’s I’ll go through to prove that to you.”
He took a step forward, inching his way up the bed, “But tonight, I don’t intend to stop until you understand.”
Get off me, get off me, get off me, get off me, ge-
You woke with a gasp, still feeling the intense pressure of someone sitting on top of you, sitting on your chest, holding your hands down beside your head, pushing you into the dirt, endless pressure – no escape. Get off me, you wanted to scream, but your lips were sealed shut in terror, and you weren’t sure if it was sweat or tears rolling down your face. A stifled moan of fear wormed out of your mouth, and you stared up at the shadowy cracked roof of your bedroom in Jackson, trying to figure out if you had truly woken up.
It was the same dream. Always the same one. It would shift and change, sometimes to include more aggravating factors, to be worse than it actually was all those years ago. And sometimes, rarely, your brain would let you win. You would overpower him, you would be strong enough to push him off of you, and end his life yourself. Only to wake, and shamefully remember that was not how it had happened.
It was the kind of waking nightmare, where even when consciousness came, your fear remained. You leapt out of bed frantically, slipping and hitting the ground with a thud. Your ankle twinged painfully, but you stood and made to escape the room. You were a few steps from the door when your foot stepped on a loose sock, and your momentum threw you forward, tumbling until your face smacked painfully against the knob of the bedroom door. A guttural cry ripped out of your throat, as intense pain soared through your cheekbone.
You exhaled in shock, a film of tears blurring your eyesight.
“Cal,” you called feebly, feeling as though your heart was beating out of your chest. “Fuck.” Your throat was tight, air struggling to make it in and out of your windpipe in your panicked state. Aware of hot blood trickling down your neck, you reached up and wrenched the bedroom door open before stumbling into the hall.
Cal mumbled your name out groggily, standing in the open doorway of his bedroom. Rubbing sleep out of his eyes, he saw you more clearly and rushed forward, hovering his hands nervously over your biceps. “Jesus Christ, what the fuck happened?”
“I’m an idiot,” you cried in frustration. He took you in his arms then, rubbing your back in small circles. The sensation of his arms around you didn’t calm you in the slightest, still feeling as if the danger from your dream was real. Oftentimes when you woke, you longed to live with a woman, just so you wouldn’t have to be near a man while you felt that way. “I fell,” you flinched as your cut brushed against the dry fabric of his shirt. “It was another nightmare, and I…I hit myself on the doorknob, I- fuck.”
“Okay, okay,” he soothed, pushing your sweaty hair out of your face and assessing the damage. “Let’s get you cleaned up, you look like something out of a horror movie.” A begrudging laugh sputtered out of your mouth, and you allowed him to lead you into the bathroom. Cal patched you up quietly, without saying much. He knew nothing would help.
The gash on your cheekbone wasn’t huge, maybe the size of a fingernail, but it took a while to stem the blood flow. By the next morning, plumes of bright blue and purple had appeared over your cheek. You were devastated, insistent to Cal that no one could see you, no one could know.
You ate breakfast in stiff silence, only the sounds of chewing filling the thick air between the pair of you. He formulated a plan to tell people in town that you were sick, out of commission with some type of flu, and couldn’t get out of bed. It settled your nerves somewhat, but what you didn’t expect, was how hard it would be to simply stay home.
Cal eventually left for work with a promise to pass the story on to Maria and get you out of your shift at the stables. The boredom crept in quickly, and by late afternoon you were lazing in bed, staring longingly out the foggy window, willing the pulsating bruise to miraculously clear up. You longed to feel the cool air on your skin, but couldn’t risk the embarrassment of anyone in town seeing the defeated look on your face. You looked awful. Through the course of that first day, the swelling crept around your eye, the pressure keeping it almost entirely closed.
When Cal returned home around sunset, you’d been drifting in and out of a light sleep and rose happily to greet him. He assured you through ravenous mouthfuls of dinner that Maria was okay with you missing work for a week, and that no one was suspicious, because why would they think you were lying about being sick? You hummed in response, knowing he was right, yet still feeling bad about skirting your responsibilities just because you’d been so clumsy.
“Joel was asking about you today,” he mumbled past the fork in his mouth, as a sort of afterthought.
“Joel Miller?”
“No, Joel Schmoel from down the corner shop. Yes, Joel Miller, you dolt.”
You glared at him churlishly, waiting for him to finish laughing and start speaking again. Your hands had quickly clammed up, and you found yourself on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what Cal and Joel’s interaction was like.
“Badgered the fuck outta me. Asked all these questions about you being sick, and how bad it was, and if you needed anything to be brought to the house.” Cal watched your face as he spoke, trying to gage your reaction. “He seemed pretty concerned honestly. Looked like he was gonna bite his own tongue off when I said you probably wouldn’t appreciate a house call.”
You stared at your plate dumbly, mind whirring as you took in his words. The idea fascinated you, to think that Joel ever thought about you; that you still existed in his world, when you weren’t standing directly in front of him.
Suddenly, Cal’s fork splattered onto the table with a dull clang, and he blurted out, “Wait, is something goin’ on between you two?”
“What?” you groused. “Cal, give me a fucking break. No, there’s nothing going on between me and Joel Miller.” He regarded you suspiciously, but backed off when you rolled your eyes and insisted.
You shrugged off the odd feeling of disappointment that rolled in your stomach. Of course there was nothing going on between you and Joel. That didn’t mean that you hadn’t thought about it, just once or twice. What it might have been like to touch his skin. Innocently, of course – his hand, or his short beard where the streaks of grey sat. To touch his neck, maybe… his mouth… No. You were just intrigued by him; wanted to know more – more than he’d want to share, you were willing to bet.
On day two of your self-imposed isolation, staying home proved impossible. The winter weather was merciless, and you lay tucked in bed, wearing your thickest clothing, but were still left shivering. It was almost evening, but you knew Cal wasn’t coming home anytime soon. He’d offered to change his plans with Luisa and come home after work instead to spend time with you, but you insisted he do nothing of the sort. “I’ll be fine,” you’d asserted firmly. “Have fun with your girlfriend.”
But now that you were there, alone, slowly freezing and with no firewood in the house, you found yourself desperate. You had no way of contacting Cal without marching straight to Luisa’s house, so you decided to buck up, get out there and sort some wood yourself. If you didn’t get warm soon, the shiner on your face would be the least of your issues.
After dragging your boots on, you set out into the cold. The sun was long gone, and a harsh wind was whipping through the streets of Jackson. Your bare face and hands ached soon enough, as you marched through the oncoming gales, feeling like your skin was being sliced with a thousand tiny cuts. There was a pile of firewood near the stables, you knew for sure, and you just prayed as you walked that some of it was under cover and had been protected from rain the night before.
You didn’t spot anyone else out on the streets as you walked, no one else stupid enough to brave the cold weather when it was getting so late in the evening. It wasn’t until you were a hundred metres or so from the stables that you noticed him. Joel was headed the same way as you, but was coming from the centre of town, and that put you directly in his line of sight.
“Fuck,” you whispered, tugging the collar of your jacket up, in hopes that he wouldn’t recognise you in the dark. You stared at the ground and marched on, watching the plumes of your icy breath floating in front of your face. Predictably, your attempts to go unnoticed went unsuccessfully.
“Hey!” that deep, Texan voice yelled out from down the street. Heart racing, you tried not to react and kept walking at a steady pace, hoping he would believe you hadn’t heard him. The wind was loud, and whipped past your ears like crazy, which you hoped would help your case.
He called out your name, his voice increasing in volume as he tried hastily to catch up to you. Hearing him say your name was like entering some kind of trance state, and you focused so not to lose your footing because of the way your insides went all warm.
“Hey, hey, stop.” Joel’s large hand was on your bicep, squeezing just enough to pull you to a halt. You cringed, keeping your head turned in the other direction. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
“Your friend said you were sick,” he was talking to your back, and your arm went cold again when his hand dropped away.
“Yeah, I don’t feel too good,” you tried, feigning a cough into your elbow. “I don’t want to get you sick; you should step back.” You could hear his heavy breathing though, and knew he wasn’t going anywhere just yet.
“Why won’t you look at me?” you heard him say, his voice almost too quiet now to hear over the thrashing wind. And then he was in front of you, and there was no way you could hide it from him anymore.
The silence between you was deafening, except for a sudden roar in your ears, which you vaguely understood to be the pounding of your own heart.
Joel said your name quietly, mouth hung open in shock. It didn’t last long though, before his face twisted into a violent grimace, his upper lip pulled tightly up to reveal a gritted set of straight teeth. You tucked your chin further into the collar of your jacket, not making eye contact and hoping he would let it go.
“Who the fuck did this to you?” His voice was deeper than you’d ever heard it, and goosebumps broke out across your arms underneath all your layers. His chest rose and fell quickly with his deep breaths, clearly trying (and failing) to keep himself calm.
“It’s nothing, Joel,” you attempted feebly. “Don’t worry about it, reall-“
His voice cracked as he repeated your name, and he stopped, sealing his lips together. Your heart fell at hearing how anguished his tone sounded. He tried again, “Darlin’, you need to tell me what happened.” The pet name flew by, and you didn’t have a chance to really take it in, as he gripped your chin gently and tilted your face upwards, giving himself a clearer view of your dark purple cheek, and the small scabbed gash in the middle of it.
“This wasn’t...” he trailed off, eyes shining in disbelief. You kept quiet. “Cal wouldn’t…”
“God, Joel, no!” you exclaimed quickly, a strand of hair falling loose from your bun as you shook your head vehemently. “Fuck, no, no one hit me, it’s really not what you think. It’s fine, I promise.”
He didn’t believe you; you could see it in his solemn expression. But he didn’t press the matter further, not yet.
“I need,” you took a deep breath, trying to calm your scattered nerves. “I’ve been staying home because I know how it looks. But it’s f-fucking freezing and I need more firewood and Cal’s with Luisa and I-“
“Sh, shh,” he interrupted quietly, placing that hand on your shoulder and squeezing it, just once. “Let’s get your firewood and get you back home so you can warm up.”
“I don’t need your help, Joel,” you bit out defensively. “I’m not a damsel in distress, I can carry some wood on my own.”
He sighed your name out desperately. “I know you don’t need my help, just let me…” You didn’t hear the end of his sentence through the rushing wind. His angry expression calmed down, as if he realised it wouldn’t help anything in that moment. “C’mon,” he finally spoke again, nodding his head toward the stables.
The walk back to your house was much the same. Both holding an armful of chopped wood, the only sound between you was of chattering teeth and harsh exhales. When you got inside, Joel ordered you to sit down on the tattered sofa, and then promptly put together a small fire in the hearth. Once it was blazing, you wiggled off your perch and sat directly in front of it on the hardwood floor, holding your hands out desperately towards the flames, longing for feeling to return to your frozen fingers.
After a moment of contemplation, Joel settled onto the floor beside you with a grunt. You heard the way his knees cracked as they bent, but you kept quiet about it. You didn’t know what to say to him – how to explain. The idea of him, or Maria and Tommy, thinking you were a liar made your chest hurt. But you didn’t want to seem weak, and you definitely didn’t want their pity. Eventually, with the newfound warmth, the silence became comfortable, and the sounds of Joel’s slow, steady breaths beside you made you feel sleepy enough to close your eyes.
“Do you want me to go so you can sleep?” he asked quietly, shaking you from your drowsiness.
The idea of being alone in the house overnight suddenly struck you as terrifying. It was the first night Cal was spending at Luisa’s, and you hadn’t truly thought about it until that moment. It was pitch dark outside, and if Joel left, there would be silence in the house. Nothing but time to think… time to sleep, and with sleep came…
“You could stay a bit longer,” you whispered tentatively, trying not to give yourself away. “If you want to.”
You glanced over to find that him already watching you with serious eyes. Your eyebrow raised in question, and he sighed softly from his nose, lips parting ever so slightly to speak. “I’m sorry to stare,” he shook his head a little.  “It just looks worse than I thought, now that we’re in the light.”
The confession made you cringe, and you shut your eyes tightly with a frown, wishing he hadn’t seen you like this.
“I know it’s awful.”
“Please talk to me,” Joel urged, and his face seemed to plead with you, desperate to understand. “Who did this? I can help you.”
You laughed in a humourless, defeated way. “I did this,” you confessed miserably. “It was my fault.”
Joel’s expression twisted in frustration and then relaxed again so quickly you thought you’d imagined it. He was trying to stay calm, for your benefit.
“I don’t know if you’d remember, but I… I have these dreams…” He watched you speak and you noticed his hands gripping were tightly holding onto one another in his lap. “Nightmares,” you clarified.
“I remember,” he said resolutely, eyes never straying from your face.
“It’s usually the same, and it’s not just a dream, it… it’s a memory.” The fire gave a loud pop in between you, and you appreciated a chance to try to catch your breath and keep your cool.
“Years ago, Cal and I were somewhere in Montana, real close to the Canadian border. We’d been thinking about heading over, trying to see if there was any settlements in the major cities. We wanted to try out somewhere new and we’d been drifting around for so long, we were exhausted. And somewhere along the way, we run into these two guys.”
You tried to discreetly wipe the sweat from your hands onto your jeans. Sitting so close to the fire had made you really heat up, so you slowly peeled your jacket off and discarded it behind you.
“They were young, younger than us. Maybe early twenties. Seemed so kind, and they were lost. Asked us if we had any food to share, if we knew how to get to Missoula … we trusted them.” You shuddered softly. It was the first time you’d ever retold the story to anyone. Cal had been there, so there was never a need to rehash it until that moment. It was unspoken between you; you didn’t like to discuss what had happened that night. “They travelled with us for a few days. We were all going in the same direction, plus Cal and I figured the extra numbers gave us more safety.”
You realised too late that a tear had escaped your eye and rolled down your cheek. You wiped it hastily, but Joel noticed, and he put his hand on your knee.
"They weren’t good, Joel. I shouldn’t have trusted them, I was too trusting,” you gasped out, eyes blurring. “I woke up and he was just, there. It was all I could feel, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move. He was so heavy and he was holding my arms down and he had looked small but he was so strong, Joel. He saw me wake up, and he laughed at me.”
The words hung painfully in the air for a moment.
“Nothing happened, he couldn’t… he didn’t get the chance to actually…” you sucked in a breath, unable to say the word. Rape. He didn’t get the chance to rape me. “Cal woke up and killed him, and his friend too, for good measure.”
After a few moments of silence, you risked a glance at Joel, to find him glaring into the fire. His jaw was clenched so tight it looked painful, and his shoulders seemed to shake as deep breaths rattled out of him. His large hand gripped your knee tightly.
“And it won’t go away, no matter how much time passes,” you sniffled. “He’s dead, but when I fall asleep, he is so alive, and he’s holding me down again, and I feel powerless.”
“And your face?” he finally rasped out in a chilled tone.
Your cheekbone ached at the mention, and you scowled retelling it. “I woke up yesterday morning after the nightmare and I panicked, it had felt so real, and I slipped trying to run to get out of the room. My face smacked off the fucking doorknob. So fucking stupid.”
“You’re not stupid.”
Sucking your lips into your mouth, you watched him and waited. You didn’t know what he could possibly say in response to your story, but you knew you were done talking for a minute.
He spoke your name for the umpteenth time that night. “I want you to know that as long as you’re here, in Jackson, no man is ever going to lay a hand on you that you don’t want there. You’re safe here, I’ll make god damn sure of it myself.”
Your stomach went warm, and you allowed yourself to smile sadly. “Safe is a relative term.”
“Don’t I fuckin’ know it, but I’ll repeat it as many times as I need to. You’re safe here, with-“ he stopped suddenly, his eyes boring into yours. “With us.” For a second, you’d thought he was going to say you were safe with him. And you knew without him verbalising it, that it was true. Those thoughts of touching him raced across your mind once more. You could so easily reach out, and put your hand on his knee, the way he had done to you. But it didn’t feel that simple, when you tried to will your arm to move.
“Let’s sit on the sofa,” you suggested, standing up to stretch out your aching legs, before settling down a metre away.
“Thank god,” he cracked with a small huff. “My ass is killing me.” He slumped down on the sofa directly beside you, so that the sides of your bodies were pressed firmly against one another. You tried not to overthink it, reminding yourself that the space was small, and it was cold, and he probably didn’t mean anything by it. But God, it had been a long time since a man other than Cal was so close to you.
“I’m sorry about the lie,” you relented, letting your eyes fall closed once again. “I didn’t want anyone to think I was weak… I felt ashamed. I… I want to be strong, Joel.”
“You are strong.”
You twisted your neck to look up at him, and it was as if time stopped between the two of you, as you realised how close your faces had become. His warm breaths were coming out in short puffs, and you could feel the air shifting at they hit your face. Your eyes traced over the scar on the bridge of his nose, his tan skin, his chapped lips. When you made eye contact again, you knew he’d caught you staring at his mouth, but you didn’t look away from him.
His tongue darted out to wet his lower lip, and your stomach twisted with a strange feeling of excitement. He sighed out your name, so quietly you could’ve missed it if you hadn’t seen his mouth form the word up close. Joel moved his face forward ever so slightly, and the tip of his nose brushed against your cheek. You realised in that second, that he might have been feeling the same way as you. Longing to touch, to be close. Up close he smelt like mint, and soap, and smoke from the burning fire.
But when he turned his face so that your lips would be close enough to touch, you turned your face away ever so slightly.
Not like this, you thought sadly. Not when you looked battered and bruised. Not with the story of awful memories so fresh on your tongue.
You felt him freeze, his face still beside yours. Chest tight, you summoned every ounce of courage in your body to press your lips gently against his cheek.
“Will you stay until I fall asleep?” you whispered in his ear, hating how small the request made you feel. You remembered the words you’d said to him at the bonfire, about wanting things; nothing good comes from it.
“I’ll stay,” he whispered back, just as faintly, his body relaxing a touch. Even though you still believed the words you’d said, you felt relief.
With that confirmation, you lowered your head to rest on his shoulder. It didn’t take long for you to drift into sleep’s open arms, as your head moved with the rise and fall of his chest, and the fire crackled slowly in your ears.
While you slept, your nightmares were replaced with visions of Joel.
And when you woke, he was gone. You’d expected it to be that way, and pushed down the part of your brain that had longed to wake up still pressed against his warm body. Your neck creaked painfully as you sat up on the sofa and looked around your home. You found a fresh pile of firewood left on your doorstep, along with a bag of apples.
You stayed home for the rest week, and the bruise slowly settled to a mere yellow tinge over your skin. Every morning, you would find that something new had been left on your doorstep by Joel. Teabags, fruit, more firewood, one of Ellie’s comic books with a note that said “Just in case you get really bored” in a messy scrawl. You felt like the Grinch from that old children’s book your parents read to you when you were young; born with a heart too small, and yet over that week, you felt it grow three sizes.
And finally, after so much time inside, the day came when you returned to the streets of Jackson. You walked down the street with Cal by your side, and a pep in your step. In the centre of town, the pair of you ran into a woman from the stables, Claire.
“Oh,” she gushed, her eyes darting around distractedly. “So glad to see you’re feeling better.”
“Thanks Claire,” you said. “Sorry for being out for so long….” You trailed off slowly, sensing that you didn’t have the woman’s full attention. Claire looked back at you sheepishly.
“Sorry, sorry, I’m distracted, I’m just so curious! I heard Tommy’s showing him around right now.”
“Showing who around?” Cal questioned, tucking a stray lock of sandy hair behind his ear.
“You guys didn’t hear?” Claire gasped dramatically. “A man arrived this morning at the gates, alone if you can believe it, and almost knocked it down with his own two hands, begging to be let inside. Josie told me he was asking Tommy and Maria if he could live here! Apparently he heard about the settlement here in Jackson, and came all the way from Cana-“
You stopped listening to Claire then, looking over to Cal with curious eyes. He shrugged at you, and continued the conversation with Claire, but you stay zoned out, taking a moment to look around the centre of the settlement you called home, and felt immense peace wash over you. It felt so good to be back. And maybe, the thought came from deep inside you. Maybe it’ll be nice not to be a newbie anymore.
Synopsis: Before you met Chris, and even a little into your relationship, you struggled with self harm. Chris and his brothers were always extremely supportive and caring of you, and eventually, you stopped. You hit your one year of being sober anniversary, and Chris throws you a ‘celebration.’
Pairing: Chris Sturniolo X Fem!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of self harm, anxiety, cussing, small bit of angst (reader has issues about her scars.) but this is fluff overall!!
Tumblr media
“Goodmorning, my love.” Chris mumbles, placing a kiss to your forehead. Your eyes flutter open, and you stare at your boyfriend.
“Why’re you up so early?” You slur, and he chuckles.
“First of all, how do you know it’s early and you didn’t just wake up late, and second of all, I had an alarm set to wake me up earlier than you.” He states proudly.
“Um.. Why?” You tilt your head, confused. You slowly sit up, rubbing your eyes. You inhale deeply, and let out a yawn when you realize something. It smelled like pancakes for some reason. “Did you.. cook..?” You looked at Chris, and he nodded.
“Yep! I made you pancakes!” He states proudly, sticking his hand out for you to grab, which you do.
Chris knows pancakes are your favorite. Were you missing your anniversary today..? Chris placed a gentle kiss to your lips, before pulling you upstairs. Once you got upstairs, you saw Matt and Nick, both sitting on the couch.
“Y/N!” The boys gasp excitedly. This only made you even more confused. Why was everyone in the house awake before you? Usually you were the first one up.
“Why is everyone up..? I’m confused,” You state, and Chris chuckles.
“I’ll tell you as you eat.” He hums, pointing you to the direction of the table. You listen, and grab yourself a pancake; before beginning to eat it. For Chris not cooking often, he did pretty good. “Okay, well. Have you checked the date today?” He asked, and you shook your head.
“Baby, you literally woke me up and dragged me down here. I had no time to check. ” You giggle.
“Oh… Yeah.. Anyways, It’s March twenty-ninth. twenty-twenty four.” Chris states matter of factly, but you still didn’t understand. What important day were you forgetting?
“So?” You asked confused, and Chris chuckled. He leaned over to kiss the top of your head, before explaining.
“One year ago, today, you promised me you’d hurt yourself for the last time.” Chris starts, grabbing your hands, giving you reassurance, since he knows this is a sensitive topic for you. “You’re one year sober, my love. I couldn’t be prouder. I love you so so so fucking much, and i’m forever grateful I could help my beautiful girl through that. I never want you to go through any of that again- I never want anyone to go through that. I’m so incredibly proud of how far you’ve come.” Chris sighs, before slowly bending down. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion, until he grabbed something out of his pocket, lifting one leg up, so he was only on one knee.
Your eyes widen, and your hands flew over your mouth as you let out a sharp gasp. You glance over at Matt and Nick, who both had their cameras out and were filming. Tears began to flood your eyes as you looked back to Chris.
“I know this is a lot, and kind of soon to be honest, but I’d rather it be you than anyone else in the entire world. Y/N, I love you so much. More than words can describe. You’re everything to me. I’d do anything— I will do anything in my power to keep you safe and make you feel loved. Y/N, if you accept this ring, I promise you, I’ll marry you one day, and always make sure you’re the happiest girl alive. Wether that day come sooner, or later, I know it will happen, if you allow it to. Y/N Y/L/N, will you accept my promise ring?” He asks, out of breath. At this point, tears are streaming uncontrollably down your face.
“Yes! Of course!” You nod, giving Chris your hand. A bright smile immediately is plastered on his face, as he slips the beautiful ring on your ring finger. He stands up, and you throw yourself into his arms, causing him to chuckle.
“I love you, so much,” He mumbles into your neck, ignoring that both Nick and Matt were ‘awe’ing. “‘M sorry I didn’t take ya somewhere fancy to do it- I know you don’t like being the center of attention,” Chris apologizes, and you shook your head.
“No, baby. Don’t be sorry, you’re right, I’d much rather have it done here.” You reassured, pulling away from the hug, placing a sweet kiss to his lips. This action immediately made Matt and Nick’s ‘awe’s to ‘ew’s.
“Oh, hush!” Chris scoffs. “I know you’ll both do this one day when you give your girl a promise ring! Or in Nick’s case.. get a promise ring given..?” Chris tilts his head, and you giggle. “Now, go get dressed, we have plans.” Chris tells his brothers and you, as he wipes your tear stained cheeks.
“What if I said no? Would we still have plans?” You teased, but to your surprise, he still nodded.
“Of course, ma. It’s your one year anniversary of being sober. Even if you told me you hate me and you never want to speak to me again I’d try my absolute hardest to make sure you have the time of your life today.” Chris speaks truthfully, not a hint of sarcasm or unfaithfulness in his calm voice. You nod, a bright smile covering your face.
“I love you,” You sigh, standing up, heading to your shared room to get changed.
“I love you too.” Chris calls back, his brothers also heading off to their rooms.
As you made your way into ‘your’ room, you headed to the closet. Chris’ and your clothes were both mixed together in there, as he didn’t mind you wearing his clothes. He loved it, actually. You rummaged through the clothing, not finding anything nearly fancy enough to go out in, that had long sleeves. You hate wearing short sleeves or shorts in public. Not that you hated your own body, it was the way people looked at you. The ‘hideous’ scars littered all over your body. The way people would pull their loved ones closer to them so they could get as far away from you as possible, the way parents even sometimes tended to cover their children’s eyes. It all hurt you, more than you could ever imagine, so you just stopped wearing ‘revealing’ clothing.
You sit on the bed in frustration, tears welling your eyes for the second time today, even if it was only around nine A.M. You push your head into your hands, your sleeves rolling up ever so slightly, giving you a glance at your healed scars. You hated that you hate them. You regret them so much, you just wish you didn’t.
“Baby..? What’s the matter?” You hear Chris call to you. You were so caught up in your own thoughts, you didn’t even hear the door open.
“Nothing. I.. I just can’t find anything nice to wear.” You grumble, and Chris’ hand soothingly rubs your back. He hums in response; before rummaging around in your guys’ closet.
“Oh my god,” Chris gasps, and your head shoots up. He was holding a black dress, the dress you were going to wear to your high school prom. Before you hurt yourself. Before you knew that you wouldn’t even get asked to prom. “This is so fucking gorgeous, ma.” He states, before pushing it towards you. “Try it on.” He smiles. You look down.
“I… I can’t,” You shake your head. Chris’ eyebrows furrowed.
“Yes.. Yes, you can..” He nods, kissing your forehead. “Please?” He asks. He didn’t go to the same high school as you, but he knows you haven’t grown since then, since all of the pictures he’s seen of you. He knows it’s because your scars.
You slowly nod your head, and his straight face turns into a smile. He turns around, giving you privacy, all though you don’t mind. Not with Chris. You slip out of your clothes, slipping the dress over your head. You look in the mirror, and sigh. It wasn’t bad looking on you- at all, you just were scared people would think you were trying to show your scars off.
Chris turns around when he hears you sigh, and his jaw dropped. You quickly turned from the mirror to face him, worry flooding your face.
“Ma,” Chris gapes. “You’re absolutely fuckin’ gorgeous.” Chris states, his arms wrapping around your waist. “Please tell me you’re gonna wear this,” He pleads. You think for a moment. You want to wear it, he wants you to wear it, so why should you worry about what others say? You shouldn’t. You love your scars. They make you you. You nod, and his face lights up. “God, I love you,” He shakes his head, placing a kiss to your lips.
how about tink and charles blurb about the bee hotels - i feel like seb would be grinning so much about it all and tink would be filming everything 🐰
Tumblr media
If there was one thing Seb that missed about Formula 1, it probably was the way Charles was still hanging over every of your words and moves. You’d just be breathing and he’d be there, thinking you’re the absolute best at doing so. It was hilarious and endearing, reminding him of how much of a sap he was back then when he met his now wife and the mother of his children. He must have been just as bad. You had arrived in the team right at the same time as Charles, only a few months later. Same age as him, young and full of life, unable to sit still for more than fifteen minutes, but with an overflowing passion that felt like a tidal wave most of the time. It had been a huge pleasure for Seb to watch you come up with ideas for the Ferrari socials and growing into your job, that he still sometimes felt like you might have been too young to be thrown into that quickly. There had been that sense of protection that he couldn’t have ignored when it came to you and Charles, which truly had meant more to you two than he ever thought it would.
Needless to say, on the rare occasions Seb came back to the paddock after his retirement, he made sure to visit his two favourite people and tease them to no end about their change of relationship status that he called for since they met, pretty much.
So in Japan, when an invitation was issued to the Ferrari lineup and com team to decorate and inaugurate the buzzing corner, you were sure to be up for more teasing, which didn’t wait too much to arrive because as soon as Seb saw you, he was on it.
“Tink!” He yelled at you, sweeping you in his arms to squeeze the life out of you. “How are you doing, little fairy?” “I’m doing amazing,” you giggled. “How are the kids?” “They’re doing great! Look, the girls made me bracelets!”
Seb proudly showed off the black and yellow bracelets branded with letter beads that spelled “Papa” which made you grin even bigger.
“Where’s your shadow? Peter Pan is still looking for it?” Seb smiled. “He’s coming, you know how he is with his hair when it’s not exactly like he wants it to be.” “Heh, he has to be handsome for you,” Seb shrugged, a teasing grin on his lips. “He doesn’t need anymore, he’s already secured the deal, we’ve signed a new contract just a few months ago,” you joked.
Charles made it just in time for the small drive around that Seb had organised, so he could proudly show the work he had done for his little buzzing corner. The bee hotels looked incredible and if you trusted the whole installation around, you knew you were up for a good time to inaugurate this new and special place. You took heaps of photos and videos of the Ferrari boys painting their canvas and bee hotel, made sure you had plenty of content to post and finally, finally, came to a stop when Seb came by to check on Ferrari’s bee hotel.
“You guys did a pretty good job,” he smiled at Charles. “Heh, we tried our best,” he blushed. “I feel like you had an advantage, because you had literal Tinkerbell to help you out,” he smirked and grabbed you for a quick side hug. “I barely did anything.”
Charles grinned at you, in that very Charles way he had when he looked at you and Seb couldn’t help laughing at him a little. It had always been so obvious, it shouldn’t have taken that long for the two of you to finally get it together.
“You do realise I made that happen,” Seb proudly announced, grabbing Charles on his other side. “You did not,” Charles huffed. “I didn’t lose so many challenges on purpose for you to look good to her, just so you could downplay it three years later.” “I beat you fair and square!” Charles gasped. “Nah, you won because I knew it’d mean Tink here would look at you like you were a champion,” the former racer admitted. “I also may have dropped so many hints that she actually liked you back, I’m surprised it took you so much time to finally understand!” “You didn’t know,” it was your turn to huff and blush. “I knew from the moment you two met.” “I call bullshit!” “Call it as you wish, but I knew,” Seb laughed. “Jokes aside.. I’m really happy for you two, you know?” “We know,” you smiled, dropping your head against Seb’s shoulder. “Thanks for taking care of us for that long.” “My pleasure.. Now.. Who’s gonna tell me why that prancing horse looks so ugly?” “Charles doesn’t know how to use a stamp.” “You said you wouldn’t tell anyone!” Charles yelled with indignation.
An hour later, the entire world knew, because the video was posted on Instagram, with a caption full of bee puns and with a picture of Seb and Charles together, of course.
A/N: So eh…. Something traumatic happened yesterday and this is what it’s based on the only thing different is that Pedro is in this. But yeah, I just really want and need him to comfort me because I’m seriously going through hell right now and yes I’m using the line from joel from the last episode from TLOU
 I got you, baby girl
You went to school and had a pretty good day. You felt alright and had a little bit more energy. You texted Pedro, like you guys always do. He was your co-star and you could say you had a pretty wholesome relationship. Kind of like Bella and Pedro have. You were great friends with Bella as well when Pedro introduced the two of you. Anyway, Pedro lived near you so the two of you spent time with each other as much as you could. He really was your comfort space and you loved him so much.
You walked into your classroom and it was going to be a long day but that was fine. You had an assignment and that would be: make a after movie from the event which would take up the whole day and evening but like I said, you were ready and gladly took the job.
The day went by fast and you went outside after the lessons to get some fresh air but that was when you saw her. The wife of your father. The one who did horrible things to you as a child. She did that besides your father. She was just as guilty. You immediately got on edge and went to fight or flight mode and yours was fight. And boy, did you want to fight her. The rage you felt was out of this world and you would happily sent her ten feet underground. It wasn’t that she would ignore you… Oh no… she was way worse, just like your dad and test you. She would always smirk at you and watch you. That made it always ten times worse because you wanted to bash her head in. First do all this shit to you as a child, getting away with it because the system failed you and then would always smirk at you when she would see you. It was like the biggest slap in the face because it told you everything you needed to know. “Yeah I did that and yes I got away with it. what are you going to do about it?” kind off smirk.
You walked back inside, completely in shock and that was when you realized that the event you needed to film, was why she was here. “Fuck….” You thought in utter shock as your body started to tremble, your eyes getting watery and your breathing became rapid. You texted Pedro about the situation and he knew a couple of things about your father. Just some snipped, important snippets nonetheless.
You texted Pedro but you knew he was in a meeting and probably wouldn’t respond right now. One of your teammates who walked outside with you, advised you to go to one of your teachers, preferably mentor. So you did.
You knocked on the door and walked in, sitting in front of your mentor as you spilled what was going on. You wished to never tell anyone here but you had no choice right now. You told the most important things but still wanted to do the assignment. You told her that you were scared that she might contact your father and that he would wait outside for you. He was a dangerous man and unpredictable. You never expected this to happen. You closed this chapter a long time ago and thought you might never see them again because you haven’t seen them for at least 2 years so you thought they moved or something but apparently not and now he knew what school you went to…
Your mentor gave you advise for what you could do if you felt uncomfortable or something would happen, where you could go and to who. You were deadest on doing this assignment. You wanted to because you never want them to take something else from you away, even if it would be this dumb project. It was the principle for you. There were moments where you teared up a couple of times but pushed those emotions away as much as you could, only to notice that it was getting harder with the second.
When you were done with the conversation, you and your teammates gathered the gear and started to get ready, only to be interrupted by your mentor and one of your other teachers, asking you to come with them. So you did. You felt a heaviness in the air, how could it not but you tried to stay as professional as you could because that was how you kept your emotions under control. Like you wanted to say, you know what, it’s not that big of a deal, forget about it.
But you knew. You knew this was a big deal and not something to take lightly, even though you really wanted to take this lightly so you could dissociate from it. Yeah, not a good copings mechanism. You sat down and the air got thicker and thicker with the second, almost making it unbearable to breath. Your heart was pounding in your chest.
Maybe you took it so lightly because you were already dissociating. You weren’t thinking clearly anymore and was very much led by your emotions, which is understandable. You teacher started speaking up. “Y/N, I’m really sorry to tell you this but I think it’s better for you to go home… We can’t guarantee your safety here. We know you’re strong and you want to do this assignment but there will be more to come so you don’t have to worry about that. But I think it’s the best to go home. Not only for your physical safety but also for your mental safety and to avoid conflict. I’m very sorry…”
She spoke softly but you felt your heart break in to a million pieces. You understand where they are coming from but the point is, that it’s even necessary and how fucking unfair it is. They did things to YOU and now YOU HAD to go home. Why did the system fail you? Why do you have to leave and not them. Why do you have to fight for your mental health because of things THEY did to you. Why can they live without any consequence? IT’S THEIR FUCKING FAULT AND NOW YOU HAD TO LEAVE. That was it. You felt so much injustice and it broke you down. You started crying and couldn’t stop.
They looked with sympathy at you and you hated it. You hated this conversation, you hated the people who did this and you hated this look. It was always the look. That’s why you didn’t want to tell people. You know they mean well and of course you would feel like shit even if they wouldn’t give you that look. It was just the unfairness. They took something from you, once again. Your mentor softly rubbed your knee. You even had to go through the fucking backdoor. You felt your phone buzz and look who it was. Pedro. Or in your phone: Pedge. You picked up, needed to hear him. That was the only thing you wanted right now. You needed Pedro.
“Sweetheart, what’s going on?” Extreme worry laced in his voice. You started to tear up as you looked up at your teachers. “Could you maybe pick me up?” The cracks in your voice with the tremble was undeniable. “Are you still at school?” you hummed and let out a soft sob. “I’m on my way, stay there sweetheart.” You hang up and the teachers stayed with you until you got a text from Pedro, telling you where he was parked.
Your mentor walked with you with two security guards. The fact that this was necessary was heartbreaking. Pedro immediately got out of his car when he saw you. His face plagued by worry, anxiety and wanted to comfort you, keep you safe and protected. He picked up his pace, his eyes never leaving his face and you felt yourself crumble down with each step Pedro got closer to you.
Tears slipping on your cheeks when Pedro got to you and pulled you in the biggest and tightest hug. The people from school took a step back, giving you some space. You started to sob uncontrollably and your whole body was shaking. Pedro got out of the hug and placed his large hands on your cheeks. “Hey, look at me. it’s me. It’s okay, it’s okay baby girl.I got you. I got you baby girl.” He told you when he pulled you in a hug again. “I got you, you’re safe now. I got you.” You’ve never heard his voice this soft before. He was so gentle and you were so fragile at the moment.
“Let’s get you home baby girl.” He whispered, making you nod while you hid your face in his neck, smelling his cologne which made you feel a bit safer and calmed you down. Pedro took your backpack with your laptop and gear in it from you and hang it on his shoulder. His other arm over your shoulder, pulling you close to the side of his body. He said some things to your teacher, which you didn’t hear. You were very much dissociating right now. Pedro softly led you to his car, never taking his eyes off you.
He knew you were in for a ride now. Yeah you were safe now and stuff but the after effect, was what was going to be tough. You were extremely triggered in your ptsd. Pedro helped you in the car and slightly leaned over you to put the seatbelt on while you stared in front of you with, at the moment, no emotions behind your eyes. very much like a doll right now but that is dissociation huh.
Pedro was driving to his house, yet keeping a close eye on your while you silently cried. Just tears running down at this point. When you arrived at Pedro’s house, he helped you get out of the car and led you in the house, his arm still around you.
He placed your backpack on the table when you sat down on the couch, still having trouble processing this. Pedro sat down next to you and pulled you into side. One arm behind you and the other around you, caressing your head as he softly pulled your head towards his chest. You broke down at that point, just completely and franticly crying your eyes out while Pedro softly rocking you back and fort while he shushed you and whispered comforting words in your ear.
After 45 minutes, Pedro finally managed to calm you down. Your breathing started to slow down again and the crying started to get less and less. You felt exhausted. Mentally and physically. “There you go. There you go sweetheart. You’re doing so well princesa.” He cooed you. Your eyes were puffy and completely red at this point. “Let’s get you some tea. You need to hydrate.” He told you and only let go of you when you got out of the hug. Your back and sides started to hurt because it wasn’t the most comfortable position in the world so you got out of the hug. Pedro reluctantly let go of you, awaiting your next move.
Pedro cupped your cheeks and softly, gently wiped away the last remaining tears from your cheeks while giving you a soft, loving and gentle smile. You softly smiled back but you both knew it wasn’t a real one. He softly planted a kiss on your forehead and pulled you into another hug. His hand behind your neck, softly placing your head against his chest as he let out a soft sigh as he started to relax himself now, knowing that your safe. He was extremely worried and stressed about you but now that he had you in his arms, that fear became a little less.
Pedro got out of the hug and reached out his hand for you to take. You walked hand in hand towards the kitchen where he started to make some tea. “Let’s go upstairs and get you into something comfortable and wash your face right now baby girl.” Every time he called you baby girl, you felt more and more safer and calmer.
While the tea was waiting to boil, you both walked upstairs. You’ve been here many times when you would accidently fall asleep on his couch and he would bring you upstairs to lie you down in his bed while he slept on a couch in his room. When you would wake up in the middle of the night and find him there, you woke him up to just get in the bed with you. Nothing behind it, just sleep. He didn’t want to make you uncomfortable but he could never do that.
Anyways, you’ve been here many times by now. Pedro got some of his comforting clothes out of his closet and gave you a hoodie and joggings with some warm socks. You walked in the bathroom and looked in the mirror, only to see yourself completely broken in the mirror. It looked like you’ve been through hell. Well, you kind of did since all the flashbacks from years prior came back obviously.
You got changed and washed your face before walking back. Pedro was patiently waiting for you as he sat on the edge of the bed, looking at his hands. He quicky looked up at you when you exited the bathroom. He stood up, worry still visible on his face while he awaited your reaction. You walked towards him and placed your arms around him for a hug. You felt his arms around you and gently tighten around you as he lingered his lips on the top of your head.
“How about, we get some tea, get high, watch a stupid movie and order your favorite take- out, with the dessert obviously and you stay here for tonight and take a day off tomorrow hmh? You need your rest baby.” You nodded softly, only to tear up again. “That sounds really nice, I’d like that.” You could just cry about anything at this point. “Then we’ll do that. And don’t you worry about a thing okay? That’s my job.” You softly chuckled but you knew what he meant. He meant that he would take care of whatever would come your way.
You walked downstairs and looked outside, only to see a snowstorm going on right now. Pedro lit the fireplace as you sat silently on the couch. Pedro went to the kitchen to get some tea for you and to put your plushy heating pad in the microwave. You started to stare in front of you again until Pedro came back into his Livingroom. He placed the tea on the table and gave the plushy to you with a soft smile. He got a blanket from the corner of the couch and placed it around your shoulders and sat next to you.
You always had the corner of the couch at Pedro’s house and so now and then you shared it with him. Or well, he just sat next to you in the corner and you were perfectly fine with that. So this time was for obvious reasons no different. You were waiting for him to get comfortable before you did because you wanted to cuddle. Pedro held his arm out for you and you laid against his side, your head resting just above his heart with your arm around him. “You got the edibles by the way?” you asked when you remembered but already heard Pedro chuckle above you and gave you the candy.
You both took it and he got the tv remote searching for funny videos. You guys were easy since you both had the same humor so when you would find something, you shared it with him and the other way around. You both easily sent a lot of tiktoks to each other. It was your love language and Pedro figured that out pretty quick.
You rested against Pedro again and he softly cradled your head and chuckled softly at the videos being played on his tv, making you chuckle softly as well which Pedro noticed and dramatically gasped. “Are YOU laughing at this?” Sarcasm and a playful tone lingering on his words. “Are you??” you chuckled a bit more when he poked your side before chuckling himself as you squealed.
After a while the edibles started to kick in and you finally reached your relaxing point. You were at this point rolled up in the blanket. “Let’s order some food” Pedro remarked and laughed a little when he saw you. “My little sad burrito.”  He told you with sympathy yet playfully. You giggled slightly and Pedro held his phone in front of you so you could choose what to eat. You chose on sushi and Pedro ordered a whole bunch of stuff and obviously, desserts.
The two of you were more slouched down into the couch and Pedro more to your side at this point, cuddling up together. You both almost fell asleep until the doorbell rang. Pedro jumped up. “Fuck, I forgot.” He mumbled more to himself while he struggled to get up, making you chuckle slightly.
Pedro got back inside with three full bags full of food. The smell hit your nose and your tummy started growling, making Pedro chuckle softly. You got out of your cocoon and helped him placing the food on the small table in front of the couch. When everything was set, you both sat down on the carpet on the floor. “Thank you Pedge..  for everything.” You told him and Pedro stopped eating for a sec and looked at you. “Baby girl, it’s no problem at all, you know that right? I’m here for you, you don’t have to do it alone anymore.” He told you and softly placed his hand on the back of your head and softly pulled your head towards him so he could kiss the top of your head. You smiled softly and Pedro knew that this too, was a part of your love language.
After dinner and some desserts, you were completely content. You and Pedro cleaned the table and placed the left overs in the fridge before plopping back down on the couch. At this point the edibles reached a point where you both would laugh at everything. Or at least, you both had that effect on each other and it almost started a war from who can make the other laugh the most. So that happened on set and interviews, red carpets etc.
Pedro got your plushy again and placed it in his microwave and gave it back to you when it was warm enough. You started watching some compilation of tiktok videos on his tv and both couldn’t stop laughing. Laughing even harder at the next video so at a point you both were in tears from laughing so much. You wiped away your tears and looked at Pedro who laid stretched out on the couch, his head against your shoulder as he tried to stop laughing but failing miserably and making you laugh because of him.
It was dark outside, the whole street covered by the snow, only for more to come as the storm picked up. For some reason you always felt comforted and safe when it snowed. It made you feel like you were in a tiny snow globe where nothing could hurt you so imagine how safe, comforted and protected you felt now.
All of a sudden you just felt like giving Pedro a hug so you did. You wrapped your arms around Pedro and held him tightly. Pedro was taken back by surprise and was scared for a moment that you felt bad again. It took him a moment to respond but when he did, he quickly placed his arms around you and held you tightly while his lips rested on your head. “You okay baby girl?” he asked gentle, making you nod. “Yeah… because of you. Thank you. I know I said it before but I mean it. thank you.” He knew what you meant. You loved him and this was your way of saying so. “You’re more than welcome. You’re my baby girl, don’t forget that.” His voice still soft and kissed the top of your head multiple times.
When you got out of the hug, but still kept physical contact by laying on his chest again. At this point you both laid down completely. “Not to ruin this moment, but my back is killing me.” you chuckled at the way he said it. “Yeah, yeah you laugh about that. Come knocking at my door when you get my age, then we’ll talk” He said playfully. “Want to watch a movie in bed old man?” you chuckled, playfully teasing him as a dramatic gasp left his lips. “Did you just called me an old man? I’m offended!” You got up from the couch and reached out your hand to help him off the couch. “my fault. I meant middle aged man.” You chuckled. This was always a part of your joking routine.
Pedro took your hand and groaned dramatically when he got up from the couch, making you laugh. “You go freshen up first, I’ll warm up your plushy.” He told you. You quickly kissed him on his cheek as a thanks and made your way upstairs. When you were done, and got a pajama from Pedro’s closet, knowing he won’t mind and laid down in bed, scrolling a bit through your phone. You heard Pedro walking up the stairs and into the room. He handed you your plushy and you held it against your abdomen and thanked him before he disappeared into the bathroom which didn’t take him long.
He crawled in next to you and handed you the tv remote to look for a movie. You chose out your comfort movie and cuddled up in Pedro’s arms. Pedro knew you were exhausted and would fall asleep in no time, which he wasn’t wrong about. You were desperately fighting to stay awake, nodding off and then quickly opening your eyes again. Pedro saw you fight and he softly chuckled. “It’s okay baby girl. Get some sleep, you’re safe now. I’ll be right here and won’t go anywhere.” You mumbled a bit at the cooing before closing your eyes and feeling the safety in Pedro’s arms. You were glad you had Pedro who looked out for you and would cross the world for you if he had to. There was no doubt about that and he would make sure that you won’t forget that.
