I mentioned one of Zeus's titles is the God of Hospitality.
And that may be way Jason was left to die.
Because he called his father, the stricter and more disciplined counterpart of Zeus, Jupiter unwise.
Something he didn't take kindly too at all.
And as such left Jason to die.
But what if it didn't stop there?
What if Jupiter wasn't satisfied with his son being stabbed to death?
Because, you see there's a person in Greek mythology who broke the rules of hospitality.
And ended up being sentenced to eternity in Tartarus.
A person who's shockingly enough appeared in the series.
I am of course talking about Tantalus.
Now I know this sounds completly insane because Tantalus's crimes are waay worse than anything Jason ever did.
Given the God's were over for dinner and he had the great idea to murdered his son and tried to feed him too the God's.
A lot worse than simply speaking out of turn and insulting your father.
Who is also the King of Olympus.
But that's not the only version of his myth.
There's another where he simply steals ambrosia and necter from them.
And still gets his eternal punishment.
But I think it's less about what Jason did and more what he could do.
Remember in Greek Mythology there's a theme of sons overthrowing their fathers.
With Ouranus being overgrown by Kronos who was than overthrown by Zeus.
So Zeus is definitely got an eye out incase any of his sons try and come at him bro.
Notice that Jason calls his father unwise.
Calling into question his decisions and in a time where Olympus is basically on lock down and everyone now more than ever is looking to hanging on Zeus's word.
This is essentially treason.
Zeus is a King afterall, son of not Jason is openly defying his father in the middle of his throne room.
And what if the others think him unwise? Think him unfit to lead, they could overthrow him.
Jason could overthrow him.
We know he wouldn't, Jason doesn't want to lead anyone.
Boy just wants a simple and quiet life building shrines and growing old with the one he loves.
But of course Zeus doesn't know that.
And if you look at a lot of children of Zeus, they have that audacity and yearn for power.
Hell Jason's namesake was like that.
I mentioned Tantalus not only as an example of breaking hospitality and offending the God's.
Through murder, accidental camnablism and even just petty theft.
But because Tantalus is a son of Zeus.
Yeah the guy with arguably the worst punishment in Tartarus was sent by his father for stealing.
Among other things but depends what myth you read.
I know the pjo version of Tantalus follows the accidental camnablism route but this is just me looking bout.
Heracles did say its hard to be a child of Zeus.
So instead of Jason getting Elysium like he deserves, imagine Jupiter appearing and just like yeah you insulted me that one time it's time to go to Tartarus for you.
To make an example of him.
And wouldn't that be the biggest slap to the face.
Jason who lived and died as not a son but a soilder.
His father leaves him to die.
And than calls on his soul because you son were so beloved.
By both mortal and immortal like.
You valued minor God's and spread kindness to all.
And I can't have you living your afterlife in peace.
Because your a threat to my rule.
Because people rallied behind you when they should have rallied behind me.
You undermined my rule.
And I am going to make sure you suffer for it.
That the whole world knows you are nothing but a memory to be forgotten.
Nothing a lost hero.
The son of Jupiter ensnared in chains. Forced to fight the monsters of Tartarus for all eternity.
And no ones going to come for him.
You call for help.
But no one came.
Because your dead.
Your nothing but a shadow, a spark that went out.
You have your life to the God's, you did everything you were supposed to and you still lose.
And Jason, Jason looks at the chains and the monster roaring at him.
And he roars back.
He tackles it, ripping out its neck with his teeth. His arms are chained behind him.
Something inside him shatters.
He feels nothing but rage.
And he swears, swears on the Styx itself that he will have his revenge.
Nico doesn't know where Jason ended up but he hoped it was a good place.
How wrong he was.

Lil Angsty 4am Toh Thought😈
Yo, what if, after Belos pulls all the goop from Hunter's body, he decides to be extra evil and leave the horns there.
When Flapjack does his thing and dies, it doesn't take the horns away but turns them into something more like Palistorm wood.
And aafterwards, Hunter can't get rid of them.
He cuts them off, they just grow back, he tries to trim them to be less noticable, they just come back.
They never leave.
He has a constant reminder of his possession and the murder of his Palisman that literally sticks out at all times.
But he can also sharpen the horns to be stabby and use them as cuttings for new Palistorm trees.
All the trees from Hunter end up having red leaves.
So that's one good thing about keeping the horns.
You're welcome!
