🔥 strength from the fuck-u-up tarot 🔥
Ian felt as if his heart might burst from his body. There wasn’t any logic to what he was feeling, what he knew was happening between them. No reason, no rationality.
It was just magic. Just love.
Fuck, could it really be love?
“C'mon, let's light these fuckers up,” Mickey pushed, holding up the lighter.
Ian nodded and Mickey picked up the vessel, tipping it to the side, the lighter disappearing into the open mouth.
Snick!
A smile crept onto Mickey’s lips as he watched the leaves catch, all of his and Ian’s baggage quickly being engulfed in a brilliant fire. It wouldn’t burn up completely, of course. They’d both have to continue to work on their own and together to unpack it all. Build something new, together.
But this was a potent jump start.
A promise, and a pledge. An undertaking.

WIP Introduction: Blackflame
There are many who pray to silent gods, who throw blind trust into the whims of that which they will never see. But what if your prayers were answered - what if your piety granted you power bestowed by the very gods themselves?
Calliope cloaks herself in the night, commands flame from her dagger-wielding hands, and compels residents of the province of Viven to do her bidding with merely a glance into their eyes. She is a Lover, a follower of Eves, one of numerous ancient deities that rule the land from the shadows. Unlike followers of the other gods, Calliope finds more than just blessings and purpose with Eves - they are also her companion, her partner, and the one who saved her from certain death.
A run-of-the-mill job turns into anything but when she stumbles upon Lucas, a frustratingly good-looking fellow thief who is inexplicably unaffected by her deity's blessings. He presents to her an enticing opportunity in exchange for a night of her help, and against her better judgement Calliope accepts. What follows is a feat of betrayal, narrow escapes, and the opportunity for Calliope to uncover the truth about Eves, the other deities, and the latent power hidden within herself.
genre: medieval fantasy, third person POV
status: currently writing first draft
vibes: lurking in the darkness, casting spells, plotting heists... staring into the gaping maw of your greatest fear with trembling hands and your chin held high. oh, and dating a deity known for being the definitively hottest being on the planet (surely this means they're completely reasonable)
rep: bi + latina protagonist, nonbinary mc, black mc, diverse side characters
main character introductions: Calliope, Lucas, Eves | wip tag

Can I just share a line from a WIP that I’m just, so happy with right now? Won’t specify fandom or context to avoid spoilers, but:
Dejected, [redacted] could do nothing but follow in her wake, like a dog kicked by its master – anguished, but obedient.

What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O
it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”
the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997
it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)
two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama
and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio
edit: it has been brought to my attention that the native american “legend” part of this post was a rumor spread by a documentary.
i have been asked to remove it, but i believe in letting my errors stand because i’m not perfect. i make mistakes

yk when you see someone share a finished handmade item that they clearly spent a lot of time and money on and it's just. The absolute tackiest thing you have seen in your life. And then you ask yourself why someone would waste all those resources on such an eyesore.
(no, of course you can't relate to that because you're a much nicer person than me)
In any case.
BEHOLD!
A wool coat!
The top fabric is handwoven and handspun, the whole thing is sewn by hand, too.
Leftovers. Barely anything, all things considered, which is very satisfying.
This thing took me well over 3 years to make, on and off. And now I'm done.
Thank you for your attention.
