i'm gonna make a list of all the characters i want because i can:
5-stars:
pyro - yoimiya
geo - zhongli, albedo
anemo - venti, kazuha
cryo - ayaka, shenhe
hydro - kokomi
4-stars:
pyro - yanfei
geo - yun jin, ningguang
I also wouldn't mind getting these characters:
diluc, tighnari, heizou, qiqi (yeah i know i know lol but i honestly wouldn't mind using her), ganyu, nilou, childe, mona, fischl, beidou
I honestly don't like and/or care about these characters, but begrudgingly admit that they would be a benefit to my account:
nahida, scaramouche, raiden shogun
#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yo,ide yo !!#this is sorted purely by personal preference btw#also for context#I haven't finished the inazuma archon quest yet#maybe my opinion on nahida will change#I don't not like her or anything. I just don't care either#I definitely don't like raiden. and at the point where I am in the story#it feels like I'm not gonna like her even after whatever they're gonna do to make her previous actions okay#also scaramouche#I don't like asshole characters. no matter how tragic their backstory is#and that scene in the delusion factory just made me dislike him even more#I'm also the type of player who couldn't give two shits about the meta#case in point: I main chongyun#but if I just so happen to get either of the three#at least I might have a chance at clearing spiral abyss for the primos#and get more funds for characters I actually like#honestly though#even though nahida is objectively better at applying dendro#even if I had her,I'd still use collei everywhere besides the abyss#I'm glad the game gave me cyno at the last minute tbh#now that I'm more familiar with the other characters#he's the electro character I like the most#also rip to me who wants both ayaka and shenhe#now that i have sucrose idek if i should continue pulling on the banner#i'm gonna try for shenhe to buff my chongyun (and to reunite the family too ig lol)#even though i like ayaka more and she's a carry,i feel like she's way more likely to get a rerun than shenhe#i also have no intention of ever benching chongyun so yeah lmao#chongyun and me? we ride or die#i think i'm gonna stop pulling after this banner ends either way though#if i don't get venti in his next rerun i'm gonna scream

help?
Where am I?
What a common question to ask when you get teleported in the middle of nowhere. Except this place is not nowhere, this is genshin. Fucking Inazuma.
This is bad, I haven't completed the dam Archon Quest yet! Yeah, I know Fontaine is out but the Anti-Shogun training was so, so infuriating!
Ugh, now I don't know what the hell to do!
I guess, wandering around isn't such a bad idea. I mean, you don't get to migrate into some hit game everyday!
...nor do you get targeted by a a group of fatui.
Seriously, what's up with them! I was walking around and the dude almost shot me with a gun! Like, take me out to dinner first or something. Like the chosen one that I am, I obviously managed to defeat them get captured.
"Hey, where are you taking me?" I ask the buff anemo dude, I was met with radio silence. Is this what they mean when they say the silence is too loud? Oh whatever, I'm sure I can find something to do to entertain myself while I get captured, or something.
I don't know.
I should be dead right now.
Tumblr media
Oh well, what a miracle I suppose.
"Do not make a noise, or your throat will be slit." I hear geo mage guy say before I nodded vigorously, because no way in hell will I be slit. That shit hurts like hell.
So here I sit, at a dock with my arms tied with a rope that burns my arms and a cloth in my mouth. Kinda pathetic, not gonna lie.
I'll be finishing this when I have time😥😥😥😥

art by @shigdesu (twt)
You're a traveler. The Traveler. You've traveled prairies and mountains, deserts and underground caves. Those lands have distinctive cultures, unique landscapes, and a variety of individuals. Some of them are infuriating and indifferent, some are pleasant and compassionate.
Sumeru is no exception. It's just your luck that the person you stumbled upon terribly fits the former category, and he is ridiculously attractive.
You weren’t quite certain when it all began. Your arrival to Sumeru has been nothing but a strenuous navigation through a series of unprecedented misadventures. Is it exactly because of that? Some helping hands during a flit of your vulnerable moments? No. that’s not it. Tighnari has been nothing but pleasant. He was the one who quite literally saved your life from some crazy.. what was it? Spirit Borneol incense-thing. Yet, every time you look at that bicolored eyes, what you see are the eyes of a close, trusted friend.
“How about Dunyarzad?” your eye shifts to the noble currently sitting in front of you, blissfully enjoying a serving of baklava at your usual seats in Cafe Puspa.
"..Yeah, no.”
Dunyarzad did help you out when you were stumped with no idea to meet the Dendro Archon. But that gaze- you don’t think you possess the same amount of fondness and admiration in Dehya's gaze as she watches her charge. The same charge whom she now dutifully accompanies even on a such casual excursion.
Nibbling your already cold samosa, your mind wanders, to your past adventures, to Sumeru, to Port Ormos, and to the object that caused you such distress: The no-nonsense, renowned Grand Scribe of Sumeru’s Akademiya. Al Haitham is a conundrum for you. He, not unlike your other good acquaintances, has his own share of heroic exploits- swooping in to save you from some lowly scam scheme that could have cost you a half million of mora.
But is that enough reason for your attachment? No, it doesn’t seem right. The moment he sends you for Dori, it suddenly feels like it’s Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma all over again. You’re being used. You hate being used, and you hate the fact you didn’t try to retaliate. Above all, you detest that Al Haitham might be the very reason you didn't try to refuse.
“Me?” You take a bite of your savory treat. “Possibly being so shallow that I'm already attracted because of his outer appearances?!”
The chicken fillings of your samosa now taste unbearably bitter.
Objectively speaking, he’s easy on the eyes, but...
“No, I remember wanting to punch him in the face the moment he technically sent me to Dori for his errands…”
“..Traveler? Are you alright?”
“!- Yes?”
“You’re not,'' Dehya frowns. “You’ve been out of it the whole evening ya know? You can talk about it if you want. As long as it’s not about your violent urges.”
“I... I don’t have violent urges,” You crease your eyebrows. “..probably.”
At this, Dunyarzad lets out a mirthful laugh. “Could this be about love problems?”
“Love?”
“As Dehya said, you’ve been spacing out this evening,” she shrugs, “and you mentioned something about ‘him’ just now.”
Which part of punching someone’s face signals love??
“Well..” you eventually cave in, playing with the edge of your plate. “I’m having these conflicted feelings..”
Tumblr media
If Dunyarzad wasn’t over the moon, she was on cloud nine. You were glad Nilou wasn’t there to also squeal and feast on your evidently love-sick state.
The more you talk about this ‘him’ person, the more you become awfully aware that your conundrum is self-inflicted. The more you seek consolation from the flame-maned bodyguard and her charge, the more you really sound like some pathetic, lovelorn teenager.
As much as you hate it, Dunyarzad was right. Avoiding the problem will only make your hair paler. And Dehya was wise. You will be leaving Sumeru soon, and regret won’t do you well for your journey.
So here you are, drinking in the cold breeze, perched on the docks of Port Ormos. Dunyarzad and Dehya have taken it upon themself to whisk Paimon away for a "Special Sumerunian culinary trip," as Dunyarzad claimed. But why exactly are you at the southward Port Ormos? When you're about to depart for Fontaine, which is located on the far north of Sumeru's border?
"Right." The bundled sword sitting on your lap feels somewhat heavier. "I'm here to finish a business right where it first started." You wanted to at least meet 'him' one last time, lest you carry the burden of regret through your future adventures.
As if Celestia hears your thoughts, the devil himself arrives. With all his confidence and efficiency, he strides over your little corner with swift steps.
You still wonder how he, a scholar, is more fit than you, an adventurer. And how he actually accepts your impromptu invitation to the far south of Sumeru's Port Ormos. But there's really no more time to dwell on the little things.
"Good, you're here. Let's cut to the chase." you hop from the wooden crate you took as a makeshift seat, "I want you to have this."
Al Haitham doesn't say anything other than keeping a good distance as you unfurl the bundle.
"Geez, relax," you sigh, "I'm not about to engage you in a swordfight. I wanted to gift you with a sword."
True to your words, the modest bundle revealed a finely crafted sword. Its firm handle and poignant blade shine a brilliant emerald as if everything is meticulously carved from the finest jade of The Chasm.
Well, it's not that inaccurate. This blade- The Primordial Jade Cutter (or at least you hope is the real one) is said to be carved by Rex Lapis himself. Judging from the amount of effort and mora you sacrificed, this better be made from pure jade.
Maybe you should find the occasion to ask Zhongli some other time.
"What is this?" Al Haitham finally deigns a comment.
"A sword."
"..My mistake. I'm going to rephrase my question. Why are you giving me this?"
Exactly. Why are you giving him this? "Because the glow of this blade reminds me of your eyes, beautiful and sharp all the same." Ha! As if!
"..Take it as a repayment for the mora you gave me to buy those canned knowledge, and for teaching me how to use them, and for the other favors I received."
"You owe me nothing, we pursued the same interest," the scribe deadpans, "and surely, this blade costs more than a half million of mora."
Haha yeah, it might cost a whole head and some limbs, actually.
"Fine." your shoulders sag, "Take it as a parting gift, then."
Al Haitham doesn't say a thing. His focused, dissecting gaze is still trained on you. Only after a while did he solemnly close his eyes and cross his arms.
(You really hate how those biceps are further defined by that very action).
"You are going to leave Sumeru soon, and you're giving out parting gifts as a final tangible reminder of yourself for everyone."
You frown. "Does it look like I have enough mora to buy everyone a fancy sword?"
At that moment, there is a subtle change in Al Haitham's expression. Those ever-poignant eyes seem to soften, just a bit. You, on the other hand, couldn't help but lament how much of a fool you are. The Scribe might be... emotionally constipated. But his brain is still one of the best among the scholars of the Akademiya.
"Wait, I mean-"
"You specifically wish for me to remember you while you're away on your journey."
You scrunch up your face. It's not even a question.
"I hate how I can't pinpoint the exact reason why I like you," you mutter.
"I see. you're attracted to me."
"I'm not!" you straighten your voice. "I hardly find you likable."
"You're contradicting yourself. Is there a reason for that?"
At this point, you can further see the depths of his verdant eyes. The longer you fight back, the more likely you seem to drown in its depth. Again, you weren't quite certain where it all began. Your faces are now only a hair's breadth and your neck cranes to meet his gaze.
(You try to ignore the way his warm breath subtly caresses your cheek).
"-You don't have question privileges!" with a yelp, you retreat backward, shying away from whatever you both are engaging in. It's strange. Al Haitham is not an ounce scarier than the Raiden Shogun, nor the Shouki no Kami. But your hands are clammier, and your heart beats faster in the presence of this infuriating man.
Al Haitham, unfazed, merely hums. "Then, perhaps next time, we can discuss further terms to rectify that."
W-what is that even supposed to mean?!
When you get back your bearings, you realize that your hands are empty, and the bundle is now safely tucked in Alhaitham's arms.
"Thank you, Traveler. I will treasure this," he nods, the most sincere, human gesture you've ever seen coming from the Grand Scribe.
"Though, had I known you prepared such an extravagant memento, I would have prepared something equally valuable."
At that moment, you follow Alhaitham's eyes, and your hand falls on a gold-plated, emerald flower tucked behind your ear.
How curious.
It is the Labyrinth Wayfarer. How the stoic scribe managed to procure such an artifact, or how he tucked it behind your ears without you realizing, will be another conundrum you have to solve.
"I wish you a safe journey," he adds, "Until then, I will wait for your return and make sure to repay your generosity."
"And Traveler," Al Haitham pauses, glancing at your star-struck state. "Please consider my offer of discussing further terms. I would very much like to discover the reason for your.. contradictions. You are always an interesting subject to study."

Since the 1.6 update is approaching us, here are my thoughts from the latest livestream!
Huge fan of the recent livestreams featuring the characters (rather than the voice actors) bringing us the news. It makes everything feel so much more immersive and highlights the whole "This program is brought to you by the Interastral Peace Corporation" thing.
As for the upcoming update... Critter Pick looks like it'll be a fun event! It'll be a good way to explore the new areas of Herta Space Station, too. I wish we could keep them as permanent pets; if the Trailblazer unlocks their own room on the Astral Express one day, we could keep the critters as an event memento.
Looking forward to new additions to the Simulated Universe as well. I haven't finished everything about the Swarm yet (mostly because of how time-consuming it is to grind through SU), but having more things to do in-game will make sure I'm never out of options for things to do, I suppose.
I don't particularly care about the new optimizations to Forgotten Hall. My RNG on artifacts is trash, so it's not like the optimizations really help me out. They're more so for players who play by the meta and actually clear all the stages.
The most exciting part of the special program would probably be Sunday as our final special guest. I'm hyped for Penacony! For a number of reasons, but mainly because of the various factions we'll get to see interact with each other. Stories (whether they're events or permanent content) that feature characters from different regions and/or factions crossing roads are always fun! I hope it's like the Genshin events where characters from all kinds of different nations got together in the same scenes, like Hues of the Violet Garden (the Inazuma poetry event from 2.6), the Perilous Trail Archon Quest (ft. the Chasm), Summertime Odyssey (on the islands in 2.8), Windblume's Breath (revisiting Mondstadt's Windblume, 3.5)... you get the idea.
Conceptually, Penacony and The Family sound pretty noteworthy. It's giving cult-like vibes, and something about Sunday feels inherently suspicious, especially in the way he speaks and presents himself.
Penacony/The Reverie as a place "where one may travel freely between reality and Dreamscape"... well, Penacony is the Land of Dreams. It's a place that only exists as a dream, "where time forever stands still" (Data Bank -> Relics; Penacony, Land of Dreams). There's an underlying cruelty to being such a place where everything is in a sense stagnant like that, and I hope the game embraces that wholeheartedly. I'm curious to see how they'll try to approach the themes of "dreams" and "time".
Key players from Penacony are the are five great families and The Reviere - it's possible we won't get to see representatives from all of the families, similar to how we stuck to the Xianzhou Luofu while visiting the Xianzhou Alliance. The representatives we'll definitely see are, according to the livestream:
Sunday (?)
Robin (possibly from the same family as Sunday; hard to say, as she could be referred to as "sister" to keep up the notion of being a Family or as a sign of affection/a close relationship, though she also has wings like Sunday so who knows)
Misha (from The Reviere)
Firefly (from the Iris Family)
Gallagher (from the Bloodhound Family)
From the guestlist, some speculations:
Duke Inferno is going to be someone to pay attention to. The Annihilation Gang isn't the Antimatter Legion, but it does follow Nanook, and anything involving Nanook is going to demand our attention. Besides, he's probably going to be involved in the source of our upcoming conflict what with planning on wrecking chaos in Penacony - so he thinks, "Penacony will just be another pitstop along the way [on the pilgrimage to Destruction]" (Data Bank -> Relics; The Ashblazing Grand Duke). Probably not playable.
Likewise, Stellaron Hunter Sam has to be important... I wonder how much his IPC bounty is. Elio probably told him to go to Penacony, but I wonder why Sam instead of anyone else.
Adventurine? My. IPC representation is always fun. I hope he interacts with the Trailblazers, and that we get more information about Qilpoth from him (though that's rather unlikely). During the cutscene where we fought Cocolia, we obtained Alisa Rand's lance while Qilpoth drew their hammer and seemed to draw their gaze at us. It's possible the Trailblazer is an emanator, but you could argue otherwise too. I'm looking forward to seeing what the IPC thinks about that, if the Trailblazer really is an emanator of Preservation, or Destruction, or anything at all.
Not much to say on Dr. Ratio. He'll be there.
Garden of Recollection memokeeper Black Swan... hey, I wonder if we'll get a reference to the Messenger on the Astral Express, since she's from the same organization.
Sparkle, representing the Masked Fools... I love the Masked Fools, they're so goofy. She's probably here to have a good time, shake up chaos, and be on her way.
Acheron from the Galaxy Rangers? We'll get to see more from another side of Lan's followers.
A bunch of the upcoming characters look interesting. I'm not invested in most of the characters, mainly because their fits look... super uncomfortable. That's a me thing, I don't care about most characters unless their lore piques my interest or I vibe with their outfits. Characters I am interested in, however, and expect to be playable:
I'm partial to Ruan Mei, she seems promising! I do wish that she wore a lab coat, she would absolutely pull it off and it would bring out the scientist part of her character more. (Nobody in this universe seems to care about lab safety with how much skin some of these characters show.)
Sunday for sure. His personality is serving... something. I don't know, I like his voice though. And the wings!
Aventurine looks cute... that's about it. His interaction with Topaz strike me as kinda funny. I want to see more from IPC coworkers, especially when Diamond gets introduced in more depth.
Sam, because mechas go hard, and I want to collect all the Stellaron Hunters.
For the same reason, I'm going to grab Elio (and Kafka on her rerun; skipped for Blade and I already had Jing Yuan to fill the same meta-niche).
Screwllum is a maybe. He's a mecha, but his personality is kinda ehhh for me.
Dr. Ratio! I'm glad he's going to be free. I'm not a fan of the right side of his outfit or his animations and wouldn't feel very happy pulling for him even though I want him. They picked an odd place to show skin and it doesn't really mesh well with the rest of his design. His attack animations are funny but rather boring and there's not much going on. As a character, I genuinely love how obnoxious he sounds. Judging by the 1.6 livestream he and Herta have Beef(TM) for sure... or that might be a Genius Society vs Intelligentsia Guild thing. Either way, it's bound to be interesting.
Misha's cute. His hair looks cute. I hope his personality will be cute, too.
Maybe Robin, if her dress doesn't look too plain. She's a superstar and she'll be singing for us at the festival! Perhaps we'll get a dedicated cut scene, music video, and song sung by her.
They're mostly guys. That's within my expectations. I don't have much investment in a lot of the female characters so far, to be honest. I like March (it's hard not to care about her), the Stellaron Hunter girls, Sushang and Bailu, and everyone else is fine. They're there, they help flesh out the world, but I'm not particularly attached to any of them. I guess you could say the same thing about a substantial portion of the cast in general...
Anyways, these are my thoughts. Looking forward to version 1.6 and hope everyone wins their 50/50s!

Genshin spoilers!! Complaining about the first part of 4.0 Archon quests under the cut.
I hate the Traveler in this part ngl. They're so incredibly inconsistent about the Fatui and I'm really mad at the weird logical somersaults the writers seem to expect us to do to justify their actions. Prime example:
We see our old friend (LITERALLY IN THIS VERY QUEST IN THE GAME DESCRIBED AS A FRIEND) Childe again and he drops some lore bombs, okay cool whatever. We can be pals with the guy who tried to murder us, steal Zhongli's Gnosis, destroy all of Liyue Harbor, and keeps popping up with his evil organization on our journey to find our sibling because his little brother is cute and he's needed for lore stuff. Okay, that's fine.
But what the fuck did Lyney do? He welcomed us to Fontaine, saved us from the Hydro Archon trying to throw hands, and has been nothing but welcoming and generous and kindhearted (only asking us to deliver some bags and pick a few flowers in return, literally nothing since he pretty much bailed us out of jail) and we drop him and Lynette like hot potatoes once we find out that (*checks notes*) when he was an orphaned kid and his sister got kidnapped, he turned to the only source of protection there was which happened to be a Harbinger who wants to save his homeland and protect people in similar situations to him.
And furthermore, he had good reasoning for concealing his involvement with the House of Hearth, which he explains: He didn't want it to come between the friendship with the Traveler and it wasn't relevant to the trial. Okay, I understand being upset that ge didn't mention it because Focalors did use it against us in the trial, but the complete about-face in demeanor was so shocking I spent the rest of the quest struggling to reconcile what just happened. And we still have to give him the cold shoulder after that? We can't even apologize or talk it out like mature and emotionally well adults, even?
What??????
The whiplash I got from this genuinely made me absolutely loathe the Traveler for being so unbelievably selfish and full of double-srandards. I need to know what the fuck whever wrote this was thinking because, good GOD, consistent characterization is one of the mostimportant and basic elements of good storytelling and the only way that this is any way consistent is for the Traveler to be a horrible human being and have such a skewed sense of morals that we might as well give up and join the Abyss already. Actually, screw that, we're probably going to make even the Abyss Order worse.
Furthermore, if we hate the Fatui so much, why not just abandon Lyney? Finishing the trial just felt like some hopeless grasping at straws so the writers could say, "Look!!! The Traveler is a Good Person(TM) because they didn't abandon a frend in need!!" but... we did? We absolutely did just ghost them after? Your argument holds not a single drop of water in the Hydro nation because your actions have proved the exact contrary point? I really hope Fontaine has better engineers than you are as writers because if this is all they got, then you're better off loading everyone in the nation into leaky fishing boats and hand-paddling to Inazuma than trying to build any dams to stop that prophecy, just saying.
Overall, I'm devoid of any emotion but disdain and also disappointed in Mihoyo for what they buchered, because the Sumeru story shows they have the capability to write competent and thematically consistent quests and they really went in so strong with the some of the other stuff and totally just dropped the ball here. I haven't gone to celebration tea with Demiselle (?) yet because I'm extremely disappointed and my immersion and emotional investment are not simply broken but in shards on the floor, so.
Maybe I'm biased because I like Lyney, but I also really just wanted to get that off my chest. I'd like to hear any thoughts other people have, if you agree or disagree and why :)

Some NPCs were full on tragic like Ruu. I have NOT come back from that one. Slight controversial one is Teppei. Honestly, a lot of NPCs on any Inazuma quest was tragic as hell given the consequences of the civil war.
Karkataaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Bloom anon
*nervous sweating* I actually have to come clean and say I haven't uhm done the world quest with Ruu yet hahahah,,,
Teppei one is mean,,, actually you're right on that, Inazuma has a lot of casualties hnghh - wait, I think one I wanna mention too is Zhiqiong from the Chasm, because the end of her world quest where she just straight up disappears? Filled me with so much dread it's absurd how they pulled that off, I want her back, Hoyoverse please let me find her
And Karkataaaa! Well he's not dead and I love that crab very much, I even rushed to finish Tighnari's story after finding out Karkata appears in the archon quest if you do it before <33

I just thought that in Mondstdat we helped solve Venti's problem, in Liyue we got caught in Zhongli's problem, in Inazuma Ei was the problem, so maybe in Sumeru Kusanali thinks she is the problem?
Tumblr media
Reasons why Venti is the best Archon. He got up off his ass when his city was in real trouble to help, found someone who could help, and was like, "Yeah, boy, let's go!"
Zhongli created the problem. And Yeah, I get his motivation and really think he wasn't that bad. (I'm thinking of the Bojack line) And he was willing to save Liyue should they need it. Seemingly, he also WANTED to tell the traveler but could, which seemed to be Venti's situation too.
Ei... Let's just avoid that, as she ignored her people for 500 years and then let them become oppressed and used by a foreign nation. And her redemption arch wasn't handled the best.
Kusanali. I haven't finished the story quest yet. (I just got to Al Haitham and Dori, and Oooh, I'm in danger with Al Haitham.) But from the snippets I've seen on TikTok before, I hurriedly scroll away. It seems like she is going to be like an actual child, which having played the Aranara world quest, seems to fit, but I don't want to give my thoughts quite yet.
Though with the Archons and a Baby AU, I feel Kusanali is would be an interesting addition.

Thoughts on Sumeru Arc Genshin Impact
So I finally finished the Sumeru archon quest today ... and wow it's my favorite one yet
******Spoilers ahead so please be aware*****
I feel like it's been the most cohesive storyline so far. In Mondstat - when Venti's gnosis was stolen from him, it didn't really feel like a complete storyline if that makes sense. In Liyue - I really respect Zhongli for retiring but we really didn't see him have much character growth during the quest itself - he started out wanting to retire and finished that way too. The Inazuma story was ... a lot. I felt like we never really got to know Ei like the other archons - she was the antagonist for most of the plot.
But for Sumeru - we're friends with Nahida. She has an entire arc come full circle. She's constantly overshadowed by her predecessor to the point that she almost allows herself to be completely forgotten. And as she learns her own worth and to become her own person - she has to completely let go of and erase GLRD - and learn to stand on her own.
It was just really well done, well written and moving! I thought Venti was my favorite archon but now I'm not so sure anymore.
Anyway, if you've played Genshin, what do you think? (Keep in mind I haven't played through Fontaine yet).

❤💛
and oh ive figured out why inazuma quests where lacking (at least for me)
they were a little too fast, but not like. to be fair, not much faster than the rest, except like. half of the story wasn't there? like it's all in the legendary quests, the aftermath, the peace treaty stuff and the tension. and I haven't gotten through all of the legendary quests yet but inazuma seems to be the only one that has this kind of Important Stuff shoved away into smth like that
and yeah you technically have to go through all the legendaries for the area but like. i didn't. i didn't even know i should have until I got to that quest with xiao and the nameless adeptus (cool quest btw i was. So fucking scared they were gonna kill xiao)
so yeah. like i finished the sumeru quests and it was basically the same as the inazuma one. except they didn't put any of it away to legendaries and instead just made it whole
which yeah. maybe they weren't sure about inazuma when it just came out. but like. mond quest was full. it had the aftermath and all right there. were they trying smth new? was it a schedule issue? who fucking knows
but yeah. it's not that bad a quest even if the whole thing about raiden being tragic was a bit much for me. like. she was basically a dictator but I should feel bad for her and not for her people hoyoverse?
I mean. Considering political climate in China having rebels be good guys at all is kind cool. But still.
so yeah. that's my thought. gonna be going through the story quests, both archon and legendary, kinda fast in the coming days. i have neuvi guaranteed, but I also want wriothesley (literally because of people's fanart, bark bark awooga and all that) and i hope to have primos by the end of neuvi's banner. at least enough to try for a 50/50
yeah, been talking a lot in a server about my problems with inazuma, and half the story not being there despite that missing half obviously having a lot of weight on the story is a big part of it. like, why should i care so much about tepppei when we've not been shown teppei more than two times? i want to care about teppei, i can think of reasons for why his death is so important to traveler, but i'm not being SHOWN IT.
and raiden being solely tragic is so strange because of all the things we've not been shown in the inazuma archon quest, raiden's callousness and cold power is like the one (1) thing we did get to see. and the visions being given back, so raiden doesn't have those 99 tortured souls on her conscience, is such an obvious marketing choice because us using the power within the visions, the last ambitions of the owners, was such a big part of the finale that the visions still having power is such a dumb choice. i guess it's because it was such recent crimes against her people, that they kind of removed any consequences for it, because zhongli did get to keeps his morally grey nuances in his story quests (and raiden's were, as you said, purely oh woe is me)
i actually think there's a reason for why inazuma lacked and why the writing went so downhill for that region in particular (or well, for that archon quest). probably some behind the scenes drama with writers stepping down close to the deadline. that would make sense with how they very obviously had a big plan for the archon quest, like sumeru was going to be, but somewhere along the line, the story didn't get written.
the world quests for inazuma are so good!!! they're really sad, but they're all following the theme of "you can't change the past, but you can try to put its ghosts to rest", and i just love that so much. i'd definitely recommend doing them if you have time for it. (also, just like in sumeru, some regions in inazuma won't really be unlocked until after the quests have been done).
good luck with story quests!!! if you've come across any good ones, just send me another ask, i have so many thoughts on some of them:DDD and GFOOD LUCK ON WRIOTHESLEY!!! AND NEUVILLETTE!!! YOU WILL GET THEM BOTH!!!
ALSO!what did you think about the 4.1 trailer? i'm SO excited to see how it unfolds. with arlecchino likely being the big bad from the fatui, i'm gonna have to accept that lyney is probably gonna be on the wrong side, but STILL, his "wriothesley, where did you take my siblings?" still absolutely broke me. also neuvillette coming out to fight, hope childe gets an opportunity to face off against him

i'm not dramatic to say that i seriously only care to get xiao, am i ? 😭 i wanted him from the start and didn't get him, and now i'm saving up to get him whenever he does come back (+ the shogun because i love playing as her)
never have i wanted a character so badly 💀 i heard the leaks are mondstadt and fontaine centric ☹️ so he probably wont be back until my birthday next year or november (speculation) and who knows when raiden could be back, since there's no inazuma centric events :(
i haven't gotten on genshin at all today yet, so i might start the fontaine quest ... after i do more exploring 💀
Of course not😭 hell if I could, I'd save for albedo because I wanna stare at him💀 I just finished the first act of the archon quest like a few minutes ago! I'm putting off more quests to just explore and open waypoints
For someone that really really hates water, Fontaine itself and the exploration is really cool, I might even 100% this😭 but ngl I'm happy with Lynette even if I don't get Lyney, her burst is super cool and very useful.

Thoughts on sumeru so far?
hi i was gonna wait until i finished the archon quest before answering this ask but i won't be able to play genshin for the next 3 days so i'll just answer what i've seen so far first :")
please don't spoil the content for me! i've only reached the knowledge capsule part of the archon quest act 1.
starting off with architectural design, everything looks so freaking awesome honestly! i'm in love with the greenery and the many lifeforms. i also like the zippy line mechanic hehe ;D the buildings are so pretty, especially the akademiya. i LOOOVE the interior of it oml 10/10 would go there everyday to do anything at all
for character design, i am very very well aware that this has been a big debate ever since the tiniest bit of sumeru was leaked to us. personally i am a little disappointed that the alleged cultural representation in sumeru is not done accurately, and i do hope to see more improvement from hoyoverse in the future, but generally i don't like involving myself or looking at anything related to the character design discourse because ew discourse!!!! i just stay out of it lol
for the archon quest, i'm quite disappointed as well. i mean i haven't started act 2 yet so i'm having the slightest hope it gets better there but i already have a feeling the archon quest is gonna pull an inazuma :( the characters were given too little screentime, 90% of the quest was just running around and paimon making stupid decisions for us and it was generally long and annoying. time spent is definitely not worth the small amount of rewards but i desperately need primogems so i'll continue :( pls pls pls pls let fontaine have a good storyline </3

Calling Out The Archon's Real Name During Sex HC
Ummm....I don't really write headcannons, and this will probably be the first one I do so, I hope you guys enjoy!
18+ Below the cutline! Minors DNI!
Also I'll only being doing Zhongli and Venti, only because I haven't finished Inazuma's story quest yet!
Venti:
* Venti is just so fucking cute! (And quite mischievous)
* So when it actually happens he is taken aback a little-
* He told you he prefers the name Venti
* But even though the name you spoke was one he never really wanted anyone to know he was-
* He couldn't help the smirk that just rose to his lips
* Ego boosted like 10000000%
* He won't let it go either
* Poor Y/n
* It was just a slip up
* Prepare to be teased for practically the rest of your life!
Everything in the room was so hot, the fire burning in the fireplace made it so much more worse than you could have imagined. His finger's against your skin were light and airy, however every spot they touched heated up like fire on your skin. Goosebumps trailed up and down your body from it.
Looking at the Archon now, his lips were parted and his eyes were lidded. A relaxed look covered his whole face, except for the furrowing of his eyebrows. You were currently straddling him, your hips gliding back and forth on his cock with his hands guiding you, or even helping when you were running out of stamina.
However, your hips began to move faster, faltering a bit. The mischievous bard new exactly what that meant.
"Are you close my dear~?" He asked leaning forward a bit to whisper the words into your ear as if they were sacred secrets.
"m-mhm...," Was really all the response you could give. Your mind was clouded with lust and the pleasure that was soon building up inside you.
"And wh-who may I asked is making you feel so nice?" He inquired, teasingly, however there was no mistaking the faltered lustful tone he held either.
"Y-you...I-it's you....," You mumbled moving your hips faster, chasing the high you so desperately wanted.
With a slight chuckle at your desperate reply to his question, he pushed you backwards, gently enough so you back would land on the mattress below. After that his hands slid up to your leg's, pressing them upwards a bit into like a half mating press. And swiftly the archon fucked you, deeper and faster than he had before.
"B-barbatos!" You cried covering your eyes with your arm from how good it felt.
"Huh?" The bard faltered in his movements as he looked down at your figure, chest heaving and legs trembling. "Barbatos?" He questions with his eyes growing thinner.
"O-oh my gosh...Venti I'm so sorry...!" You said looking up at him, fearing you had done the worst.
"So you want me to play god?" A small smirk appeared on his lips before his ruthless pace started once again. "Then let's play god~, I expect to be worshipped tonight~,"
Zhongli
* This man just stops-
* Like dead ass stops for a few minutes just looking at you
* He secretly likes it, don't get him wrong
* He's just surprised that you actually said his name
* But he likes the way "Morax" drips past your lips
* Maybe a little too much
"M-morax! S-Slow down!" You cried with your legs wrapped around him. Currently had had your back up against the wall and was pounding into you from below. That strong bastard.
Zhongli stops what he's doing and just looks at you. It's really quiet for a few minutes before you speak again.
"I-I'm sorry...It just slipped out." You mumbled and looked away from him, a bit in guilt knowing how much pain and suffering was behind that name.
"I really do despise that name now." He said leaning forward to kiss the shell of your ear, and whispering softly. "However, when you're moaning it, I don't see a problem. So be loud, and maybe the great Rex Lapis will hear you~," He teased and quickly set the same pace as before.
You could swear you felt the ground below you rumble each time you moaned out his name in pleasure. Your hunch about the ground rumbling was correct, a lot of people in Liyue the next day were shaken up from it, claiming that Rex Lapis had somehow returned and was angry.
You knew better though. Turns out the stone cold god of contracts was just horny!
(Oh my Goodness! You opened the other cut just for me? I think you deserve a bit of a reward! Maybe another hc?...Maybe with a popular character who is not an archon but has many names as well? Can you guess who it is?)
Childe
* He knows you know his real name
* He is the one who told you
* But you still call him Tartaglia or Childe
* So he only ever hears his real name when you're angry
* Sly bastard
* Will make you repeat it over, and over, and over, and over
* He will be so smug about your 'slip-up'
* Won't let it go for a while and will only respond to Ajax for the next few days
* It's all just to tease you ;)
"F-Fuhck!" You whiled and sat up a bit straighter from the feeling. Tartaglia was working on paperwork when you walked into his little office to say hello, well one thing lead to another and...
You now were currently sitting on his lap, your back pressed against his chest, and his fingers were caressing your folds with vigor. Not only that but he wasn't really paying attention to the whole situation either, he was reading what was on the papers!
However, it was quite clear to you that this was getting to him because of the thing poking your inner thigh in his lap.
"Shhh...I'm trying to read." He would say, unable to keep a playful smirk from spreading across his face.
"P-Please...," You whined and leaned your head back against his shoulder, turning it a bit to look up at him. Oh how Mr. Tartaglia's superiority complex took over in that split second you're eyes met.
"Oh? Can my poor baby not cum without my help?" He asked, flicking his fingers faster against your clit. Your mouth opened and a choked sound erupted from your throat.
"A-ah!" You yelped and your legs began to quiver under his touch. "A-Ajax!" You called as your back arched, and a released wave of pleasure washed over your body.
"Ajax?" Tartaglia said, leaning forward and smirking. "Ajax? You never call me that." He said in a low tone, his face now next to your ear. "Say it again~,"
You know what happened after that ;)

gibberish about the four pointed star related to khaenri'ah because khaenri'ah /pos
( also posted on twitter!! )
heads up that this is a bit of a long post, so i'm going to put the whole thing under the cut, and apologize in advance for there being MANY words! /lh
so i believe that by now, most of the community is well aware of the fact that, on characters, kaeya has this star in his eye, it's in paimon's hair, on albedo's neck, and in both of dainsleif's eyes
(which even alone that is an interesting detail to me! since we know both kaeya and dainsleif were born out of [at least one] khaenri’ahn parent.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then something else i've noticed, a little while ago actually, is that the nations and regions we have available to us at the moment all have their own little logos! they also show up on the achievement "chapters" for those regions.
....mondstadt, dragonspine, and enkanomiya all have the star in their designs. (top row of images)
but liyue and inazuma do not? (bottom row of images)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
while i haven't finished the enkanomiya story questlines yet, i do know that mondstadt and dragonspine have direct links to khaenri'ah - kaeya, and albedo.
albedo is created from khemia - khaenri'ah's branch of alchemy. we know he travelled with his master - rhinedottir for a long time, and she taught him what he knows now.
and kaeya, well. i think we're all familiar with his story, yeah? his father told him when he was young that he was their last hope, he's supposedly an agent for khaenri'ah, but he was found and raised by crepus ragnvindr and alongside diluc.
i can't say for sure that enkanomiya is linked to khaenri'ah with where i'm at for the moment, since i wanna play through the quest myself, and i can worry about spoilers and researching others later, but i'll definitely update this later if i figure anything out!
beyond that;
there's the star in many other achievement designs too! from ones that make sense ("meetings in the outrealm" - co op achievements), to ones that are a little interesting to think about ("a hero's journey", "memories of the heart").
but the one i want to bring up is elemental specialist.
Tumblr media
...you are seeing that correctly. in the center of the ring created by the seven elements we know the traveler will eventually get to use,
is the khaenri'ahn four pointed star.
does khaenri'ah have their own element? did they have a god once upon a time and are now instead hellbent on revenge on the other archons for their god being taken from them or killed? why is that even THERE?
i also have so many other thoughts about khaenri'ah and the abyss and hopes for what mhy do, and how i wonder they'll pull of dainsleif being playable bc. no way in hell that man is getting a vision (affectionate) but he's gotta have some sort of skill or something, right?
but. yeah there's my thoughts for now <:) hopefully you found this interesting! feel free to add on or come into my inbox and scream at me with ur own ideas or how you want to see things pan out! ill try to update this once ive finished enkanomiya's quest/s.

still the yanven ask person, thank you for the response!! i am glad to hear you're doing well, i definitely am on the way to recovering myself aha, thank you for your concern!!
for the banners, that's honestly fair. im just going for whichever anemo boy i can get my hands on, at this point...
and thank you again!! i definitely having fun catching up, but my god there's a lot of things....and areas ... i haven't even touched the newest one yet, as ive been busy playing windtrace instead ;; it's such a fun event (DEFINITELY not like the potions event imo), im glad im finally able to participate, most people sadly don't talk tho, what a shame;;
ah, but the things ive seen definitely are so pretty tho!! like that sangonomiya island, y'know? that's where kokomi resides, right? i haven't done her story quest, but i think so. the island, as well as most of the other places are so lovely, with the shells and whatnot, but it also feels really lonely... i don't I'd like being stuck here lol. i also have finished the inazuma archon quest, but im still not willing to fully trust kokomi...
there's a lot on my plate tbh;; Inazuma characters are especially and definitely really interesting, and i also can't wait to see what yae will be like..
That’s great to hear! I’m glad you’re on your way to recovering. ( ^ω^ )
Anemo is such a fun element to play, so I don’t blame you for wanting the Anemo characters! They’re all wonderful! I wish you lots of luck on your future pulls!!
Windtrace is so much fun!!!! Aaah, I’m so happy it’s back. The potions event was interesting when we got the interaction between Timaeus and Ying’er, but the fighting… >_< My characters aren’t capable of insanely high damage, so I couldn’t get all of the rewards. But it was nice being able to use the trial characters they provided us with! Although if I had to choose between that event and Windtrace, I would definitely pick Windtrace lol.
It’s actually really exciting when you’re matched with a group of players who use the chat because then everyone can just be friendly and talk. I was in a match where one rebel sacrificed themself so that another person and I could win, and we promised them that we would win in honor of their sacrifice. Another match involved a rebel and me discussing Childe’s legs and why they are so long. There are many funny moments to be had during an event like this.
Aah, Watatsumi Island!! Yes, it’s very pleasing to look at. The aquatic atmosphere and the colors are so nice!!! There are so many good spots for photos, too. I like to go there to capture the unagi for my teapot.
But it’s great that you’re enjoying Inazuma and the characters. I’m excited to see how Yae will be as a playable character! Do you plan to wish for her or are you saving for any of the Anemo characters?
