Ice Age is the best found family series ever literally no other media has anything on this series and no one talks about it. I’ve just finished watching the second movie and they have ended both movies so far with the gang walking off into the sunset the point of the first movie was these three guys taking care of a kid and the end of the second movie is Sid asking Manny for a dog, Ellie calling Diego and Sid Manny’s kids, and Manny saying to Ellie “we have to be consistent with him” bc after Manny said no Sid asked Ellie for a dog and she said yes LIKE THEY ARE THE MOSR FAMILY TO EVER FAMILY WTF

Okokok good episode! Tbh I thought “The Return” would be Echo’s permanent return to the Batch, but narratively that wouldn’t’ve made sense for him anyway. And I am LOVING the fact that it is actually Crosshair’s return to the turning point in his life, followed by his full return to the batch. Like yeah, last ep they re-met, but he hadn’t fully arrived until the end of this episode and GAAAAHHH I love it!
Also the dialogue is just totally A1 chefs kiss mwah this season (or maybe I just appreciate sarcasm)

I had to google wtf ‘skinship’ meant and I’m still not entirely sure tbh, but it sounds like it means bonding through physical touch so I feel like I’m getting called out for being a little handsy with that ‘unnecessary’ in there! (Well, I am a Scorpio !😂) Or maybe it means I don’t like it when people I’m not close to touch me unnecessarily? (Again, I’m a Scorpio.) Or that I’m weak for people who show me physical affection?? I’m not sure. But, yes, I like my space, I daydream quite a bit, I’m constantly thinking ‘I’m so done’, and ‘my life, my rules’ sounds about right. And if ‘speaks in lowercase’ means I can sometimes be a little deadpan, then guilty as charged.

well… after being stalked and harassed for the past couple of months, i am finally back!! stay tuned lol i got some fics lined up for y’all 😁
anyway if you read that first line and thought to yourself “WTF?!?”, here is the full story for my curious readers (just a warning, it’s long and i rant a lot):
a couple of months ago, i started getting tagged by random accs on tiktok and insta that posted vids accusing me of the most random and heinous shit. honestly, it just baffled me the first time i saw them bc they made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
when the first ones popped up, i just blocked them thinking it was a random troll and went on with my life.
but then i kept getting spammed by other accs with new posts where they not only involved me but also my friends, and accused us as a friend group of being horrible ppl.
i had enough (i can’t even remember how many accs i blocked) and deleted ALL my social media apps for a while (i.e. more than a couple of months, oops) and basically isolated myself from ppl so that i could focus on other things to distract me (i ended up making daily exercise a habit so ig that’s one good thing that’s come out of this lol, i also rewatched all the marvel movies in timeline order hehe). i wish i continued writing so i could’ve at least had more content to share by now, but i was feeling so negative and pissed that i couldn’t even bring myself to write anything (i even uninstalled notion from my phone and that’s where i keep all my drafts and fic ideas)
i only found out the full situation less than a week ago when i reinstalled tiktok bc i missed it, only to find more burner accs harassing me. i finally had enough so i reinstalled insta to rant about it on my spam acc for my friends to see and to my surprise a couple of them knew who it was and explained the whole situation to me.
it was my first time interacting with ppl outside of my family in months lol, when i tell y’all i isolated myself i really did mean it 🙃 my irl friends didn’t even know anything out of the ordinary was happening bc i’m notorious in my friend group for going off the grid for months at a time bc of how bad my mental health gets sometimes, they know to just let me be and let me deal with it alone bc they understand that’s how i work best. (they won’t see this bc they don’t know this tumblr exists but i wanna apologise to my dear friends for my disappearing acts, my bad, i love y’all for being so understanding and still being my friend after all this time 🫶🏼)
anyway, it turns out the culprit was this guy that my friend had rejected previously and he’s so bitter and hateful that he decided to harass me bc he knew i was one of her bffs (the ppl he targeted were the ones in her closest friend group which included me)
but here’s the kicker: I’VE ONLY TALKED TO THIS GUY TWICE!! AND EACH TIME WE TALKED FOR LESS THAN 5 MINS ABOUT IRRELEVANT SHIT!!! WHY AM I INVOLVED?? YOU DON’T KNOW ME!!!!

when my friend found out she was so surprised and appalled that he was harassing me too, bc him, my friend, and the other ppl he targeted all go to the same college together (and i’m the only one in the friend group that goes to a different college, so to reiterate once again: this guy barely knows me! the last time we spoke was at my friends bday party 3 years ago!! he’s literally insane!)
she knew he was harassing my other friends since they’re all in the same school and know him in person, she didn’t think i would be involved too and i couldn’t believe i was.
anyway, i just wanted to rant about this whole thing bc i’m having a hard time processing it tbh. i hope that guy rots in hell and also finds a job there bc he was acting hella unemployed like who has time for this? he made me feel so confused and paranoid for weeks and i hope he gets all the karma he deserves in the universe.
y’all wanna know something funny tho? i started writing a changmin stalker fic in june, way before this whole situation happened. life imitates art ig 🤪 anyway i finally finished it and i’m gonna release that fic next after i fine tune it, at least now it’ll be somewhat realistic lmaoooo

scenes that rot my brain
when they mutiny against jack in the s1 finale. that whole bit, from gwen with rhys’ body in the autopsy bay to owen shooting jack to when they trigger the emergency protocol and open the rift. ill never get over how it first felt to watch that whole scene for the first time, it drove me insane. it still drives me insane. ive watched it 300 times it's sooo 😩 MY scene. g-d.
well, that’s my scene, and so are all the owen & ianto scenes in s1ep12. those two make me feral. ive gushed about theose scenes before, so ill spare u this time. my otp 4eva. and also owen having a villainous breakdown wahahaha. my fucked up little guy of all time
the scene where owen’s patching gwen up in countrycide drives me nuts. it’s such a clever seduction scene + it’s so intimate. i love it. (i also enjoy the two separate scenes where she chokes him fdhskjfdsf. countrycide tree scene makes me BLUSH and nothing makes me blush fsdkjfdshfkjdshfjkd. i am very very bi <3)
owen begging diane to stay in out of time... don’t touch me. every time i think of that whole scene i wanna cry. i have never seen such sad eyes in my life. (see my tags here for more of my thoughts on this topic fkjsdfhs.) burn pay my fucking hospital bills
that moment between jack and owen at the end of combat... “for a few seconds i felt totally at peace... and then you blunder in. do you always know best, jack? is that what you believe?” “i want you back at work tomorrow.” that scene has always driven me crazy. there’s a few scenes in the show where jack’s monstrous and the others yell at him over it, but that one hits the hardest. owen just seems to actually cut through him in that moment, and it kills me.
the scene at the conference table in s2ep5. i’m not the biggest fan of that ep, i talked abt it more the other day, but that scene drives me bonkers, for a number of reasons… the insight into the characters (owens mommy issues!!! tosh n ianto’s need for purpose!!! gwen loves rhys AND jack!!!), for sure, but especially the way jack’s relationship with all of them is presented. ill talk about it a lot more when i discuss his character, but jack… reminds me of a cult leader, in a lot of ways, and it’s most prominent in that scene especially. the show doesn’t realize it’s framing him like that, and the fandom doesn’t seem to pick up on it either. but i do, and i think it’s fascinating.
gwen drugging rhys in combat. it just kind of blew my mind when i first saw it - there's a moment with every character where i went “oh wtf theyre fucked up. ok im obsessed now” (owen's was ghost machine, ianto's was actually ‘pray they survive’ in meat, jack & tosh never had one for me which is probs why they dont rot my brain quite as much fhdskjf) - that was gwen's. also important to note burn gorman agrees w me bc on the commentary of this ep during this scene he was clapping n laughing n probably kickin his feet HFDKSJFHDSJKFDSK he gets me
all of fragments tbh esp owens portion but specifically ianto crying when he walks away from jack at the end of his segment, and owen crying when he's talking to the doctor + him n jack walking thru the cemetery. aaaa.
(yes those were almost all owen scenes. im the deranged owen guy rmr.)
scenes that make me smile
the very first scene in the hub in the pilot :) it just feels a little bit magical in an industrial, bleak, kitchen-sink sort of way, which is what i love sm abt tw, the way it occasionally strikes that balance. the way stepping into a big base in a sewer manages to still feel magical… that’s special.
in episode 2 when theyre having lunch + in episode 4 when theyre at the bar, when they’re all gathered around and laughing. ohh i wish we got more of that
every time gwen n owen are dumbass giggling besties, or teasing each other… twice in s2ep10, and in ep 7, and then when theyre fooling around at the beginning of s2ep2. i love themmmm those two are my idiots they make me smile
jack & john’s fight in kkbb heheh
owen n martha gorillaz scene in reset. wahoo! shicka shicka shicka shicka feel good
bernies apt in ghost machine ep :) i just like the way they go through his shit, steal a bunch of it, n then leave, it always makes me giggle. “so call the cops” JACK.
scenes that stuck with me / made an impact
john and his son in out of time. that was rlly rlly emotional.
also jack helping him off himself. g-d that episode was heart wrenching.
“captain my captain” in tkks, suzie on the ground covered in blood… things i think about. “it’s all your fault, jack." ahhhh
in ghost machine, when gwen holds the device and sees herself crying and covered in blood, and afterwards she’s all dazed and she looks at owen and he stares back and he looks dangerous. i loveee that scene. will never get over s1 owen. he’s a ticking time bomb and when he explodes he nearly destroys the world. character of all time to me. i love that he redeems himself in the end but ohhhhh sometimes i think of a world where he becomes a proper antagonist. he rlly walks the precipice
g-d and the scene where he had the knife held to ed morgan, when i first watched it i didn’t know what he was gonna do and it was so tense.
when lisa was first revealed in cyberwoman and mogwai played…. transcendent. the outfit was silly right off the bat but the vibe + reveal was cool enough i was rlly excited. i love the concepts in that episode i wish they took it more seriously. no metal bikini + no pteradacyl fight and we could’ve had it all. but also. would it be torchwood without metal bikini + pteradacyl fight.
“it made me happy” scene in countrycide. a lot of people seem to find that ep upsetting, i wasn’t really affected by the subject matter, but That got me. chilling. you go into torchwood expecting evil aliens, so the episodes about evil humans really hit.
the resurrection scene in s2ep7. i’m getting tired so im not gonna babble as much but agh. i wanna eventually do an analysis on owen & jack’s dynamic - i’ll talk about it there.
also, it’s a little moment but in the same episode, when gwen calls rhys crying… it reminds me of that bit in succession, during connor’s wedding, when tom calls greg, which is one of my favorite moments in that episode too. taking the time in the middle of a tragedy to step aside and privately call a loved one for support, bc u need a minute to break down when uve been doing ur best to stay strong. i think torchwood is bad at handling grief and letting their characters experience it, so it’s a nice little moment that actually lets her grieve. that, and the glove clearly triggers her, so she got double whammied with the death of a friend + the reminder of the time she nearly died. again, in a show that doesn’t typically frame moments of weakness and pain very sympathetically, it’s refreshing.
idk why, but in ep7, when it goes back and forth between owen figuring out the murders + tosh crying to mary while she looks unsympathetically down at her… it’s just a well-filmed, cool scene, and i enjoy it. thrills me, heh. also owen adhd icon
aditd... maggie’s wedding… we’d been married less than an hour. scenes that got me. i think of maggie a lot. i think of that scene a lot. i think ‘the woman on the roof’ is my most listened to torchwood ost track, fff. it’s very special to me. that song reminds me of a thomas newman score.
tosh n owen’s deaths. of course. both of owens deaths actually, the second one is more impactful but the way nobody held him when he first died bc they were all in shock haunts me ;-;

“Well, I….I met Eddie”, I confess, looking at a few of the tapes Steve is organizing. “The other day, I met him, and I just…”
“You what?” Steve replies, turning to look into my eyes. He seems concerned.
“I really wanna kiss him”
Steve chuckles, “That’s cute, hun, that’s real cute.” He sounds a little bit upset, despite the small laugh.
“Are you mad?”
“No I’m not mad, Ally. I just remember when you were talking about me the same way.” He sighs.
A laugh escapes from my mouth and I quickly cover it, embarrassed. “Sorry, Stevie.”
My face burns hot. It’s not that Steve isn’t attractive, he’s just not really my type. Which does suck because we do get along pretty well. We have kissed a few times but honestly I think it was situational.
“It’s not that funny”
Robin walks out from the back room. “What’re you laughing about?”
Steve says jokingly, “Ally wants Eddie to fuck her”

My original tumblr blog was dedicated to glee and eventually to manga/anime/comics and then I dipped for a bit and came back to tumblr blah blah blah glee was the start of my tumblr experience but also was the first time I ever actively engaged in a ship war (Which was STUPID i was so STUPID) like before I was a lurker but glee was the first show I openly participated in fandom
and it’s a dumb show, it’s a bad show, it has some shining moments but lordly it was a mess and I was so invested in Britanna and Klaine at the beginning but by the end I was like they should NOT be together and honestly proud of myself for that it showed ~growth~ I also dropped the show idk mid-s4? Glee was the show that made me learn to drop things and not get caught up in sunk cost fallacy, if you’re not happy watching something, drop it.

okay here’s what y’all came here to see lmao Kinnporsche really grabbed my ass and slapped it like wtf I wasn’t expecting to get so invested in this show tbh b/c like I started watching BLs again but the ones I had watched from Thailand hadn’t GRABBED me they all ranged at the time from okay but wouldn’t watch again (Until We Meet Again, 1000 Stars) to boring-dropped it (Fish Upon a Sky, 2gether, Lovely Writer) the ones I had liked were mostly Korean and Taiwanese offerings (HiStory Trapped, Love is Science, We Best Love (seasons 1 AND 2 fight me), Be Loved: In House, You Make Me Dance, the one Korean assassin one).
So like, I saw the trailer for KP and was like, oh that looks different and interesting from other Thai BL and then I saw it was canceled and was confuse. Then I saw it was un-cancelled and was MORE confused I was like is this show coming out or nah? But it was and I was like, sure why not? And I had just restarted using tumblr again and then the show started and the first episode HIT SO HARD and I was like “omg actual cinematography, actual camera framing, actual directing, actual locations, actual physical movement of the cast and the story, a larger story at play, COSTUMES” bitch I was hooked and I’m probably bias but KP is still the best conceptually executed Thai BL imo like sometimes I see posts about the cinematography of other Thai BL and it’s just pictures of two chars standing in a mid-lit room and I’m just like, god I’m a snobby ass bitch lemme leave lol
KP isn’t perfect, there are issues with the plot at times, but like, there’s issues with the plot! Not the sound (rip LITA I still love you), or the lighting, or the editing, or the direction. The secondary cast actually feels like a cast rather than extras to fill out the cast or pad for time there’s like next to no filler in the show which is such a rarity (imo) for Thai BL.
Love Between Devil and Fairy
To me this show was peak fantasy epic romance I just love it to pieces, the costumes are to die for I wish America made more epic romances like this that really embrace fantasy, romance, and action one thing I really love about C-Dramas is they embrace romance with a certain sincerity that is missing from American dramas and I think it’s a shame
I’m cheating that’s all I got in me I don’t watch a ton of TV shows and the ones I do I’m picky about so it’s hard to pick like a top anything lol but I think these ones describe me pretty well so

I just finished it and lsaalkbklg, I wrote this as I watched so it's messy, but yes, spoilers ahead obvi!!
Okay so the concept is... something else, lol, but kinda cool ig?

dbs super hero thoughts under the cut, spoilers and being kind of critical in general
disclaimer, i watched it online with not great sound quality, and who knows if the translation was spot on, but it sounded mostly right
it looked REALLY GOOD from what i could see. pans training with piccolo stood out to me for how good it looked. also loved all the redrawn shots from the anime. there WERE some scenes that were… wacky looking, particularly all the scenes on whatever beerus’s planet is called. i do wish it had leaned more into the superhero element? want more impact in the fight scenes. this is part of why pan’s training stood out.
some of the models looked kind of. meh. cheelai looked weird to me? krillin was weirdly skinny for a short ripped martial artist. tbh a lot of the characters just looked weirdly skinny compared to usual. also wish piccolo had his long nails but that’s just personal preference lmao
most of the characters who they shared the models for to get everyone excited for the movie were barely in it at all. like, 18 might have had three lines?? goten and trunks were barely there. krillin was FLANDERIZED. to be fair i don’t watch super so maybe it’s been that bad for a while, idk. but you’re telling me he wouldn’t go help?? HES EITHER THE STRONGEST OR SECOND STRONGEST HUMAN ALIVE (it’s him or tien) and yeah he’s always been one to try to get out of situations but to not even go help when his wife and basically nephews are in a life or death situation AND THE WORLD IS AT STAKE?? WHAT????? videl was barely in it at all, don’t know if she was even aware of her child being kidnapped. where tf is she walking around all the time on facetime, girls gonna get run over. her giving piccolo plushies as thanks for taking care of pan was kind of cute but like. this is so picky but it didn’t feel like a videl thing to me. id believe gohan did that before videl. BUT i LOVE getting some piccolo and videl interaction, they’re two of the most important people in gohans life. id love some real interaction also bc i think their characters could bounce off of each other well but that ship has sailed in canon especially since videl seems to be like. background wife character now. speaking of people who are now just background characters.
GOHAN. wtf did they do to my boy. SOMEONE NEEDS TO COUNT HIS MINUTES OF SCREEN TIME. i saw on peridodite’s blog (not tagging u bc i don’t wanna force someone to read all this lol) that it was supposedly a piccolo movie but they pushed for gohan to be in it, which makes a lot of sense. i’m sorry, but i want one or the other. i love gohan but i’d be fine with just a piccolo movie (gohan would make an appearance regardless, you know he would)! it would make way more sense! bc by forcing gohan to have to be relevant but not wanting to adjust the plot events too much, they make the whole thing into like… piccolos scheme to get gohan to fight? I WILL SAY they actually made piccolo seem pretty chill with gohan not training in this one, at least in the translation i had. he wanted to make him fight bc he’s like. their best bet. BUT. i think that was a bad move period. it’s not a good look to make the characters not try to fight their own battles or just ask for help directly. where did piccolos strong will and backbone go? he’s not against asking for help when he knows he’s down and he definitely isn’t against lying but like. him being like well i can’t do much and goku and vegeta aren’t here teehee didn’t make me too happy, but i don’t like the huge power divide now anyway.
but anyway, gohan is barely in it, but i liked a lot of his moments! him nearly destroying his house was GOOD. him not sensing piccolos ki… i thought they’d reveal it was a joke but they didn’t?? that just doesn’t make sense. he’s been able to easy sense his loved ones since saiyan saga.
i liked piccolo talking to shenron bc in what i watched it seemed like it was making a joke about how king piccolo murdered shenron and so shenron was scared, but i wasn’t sure if it was actually going for reverence towards kami or something, idk. but the fact that they can just… power up the dragon to grant them more power…. didn’t like it. and didn’t like that they wouldn’t just resort to training, they were like give me a power up! piccolos always been big on training. idk, it made the fight feel cheap.
the new forms SUCK. like oh god piccolo looked SOOOO cute and then his new forms are SO UGLY and just not good. very uncreative. would’ve loved something related to the dragon if we HAD to have new forms. gohans stupid hair dear lord. but i’d much prefer that no one had a new form, bc it was kind of forced into the plot with low stakes which made them feel less significant (super saiyan was a HUGE DEAL to achieve at first, for example). i still maintain that piccolo should’ve learned kaioken bc he could use it REALLY well given his regenerative abilities. gohan shouldn’t need a new form! he’s gohan!
also you’re really telling me these gammas are that powerful 💀
bringing back cell…. bad…. wasn’t a good design and bringing him back had zero impact given no one really responded accordingly. and that fight was really boring? the hits didn’t have impact, the obvious choice was to have piccolo or someone use makankosappo on the head thing bc IT’S MEANT TO PENETRATE. also when they were like someone has to sacrifice themselves kind of surprised piccolo wasn’t just like ok cool i’ll do it bc he’s never shied away from self sacrifice lol. but again, there wasn’t any weight to it.
you can have weight in dragon ball movies, broly proved it! you can know everyone will ultimately be ok but still make care bc you wonder how the arc will resolve for the characters and how they’ll be affected! but like. nothing really happened. gohans change just felt weird? idk.
the villains got a LOT of time but there were a lot of them and they didn’t do a great job with their time making you invested. i didn’t care about any of them. i’m sorry but when gamma 2 (?) died i felt nothing. and it’s not like i went into this movie planning to hate them! i was SOOOO hype for this movie, but i was like oh. ok. i don’t even dislike any of them i’m just perfectly neutral. i don’t remember the gero grandsons name but he had a little more appeal bc he’s clearly like a brat but also just wants to do good ultimately? and he’s smart but stupid in that he has no common sense and got fooled really easily, which was endearing to me in this case. but also i don’t even remember his name.
oh yeah my thing didn’t have a post credits scene so i’m wondering what that is lol
it was cool to hear piccolo refer to goku as goku, i immediately noticed since he’s usually like SON. his japanese va is awesome as always. and there were definitely cute antics! i liked him clawing at gohans window, trying to drive the plane… pan was cute.
GOKU AND VEGETA. HNGHHHHHH I WAS MAD. you’re telling me GOKU needs to learn patience in fighting, but vegeta is better than him at it?? SUPER GOKU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU
At least the final scene with those two it seemed like they made it ambiguous whether or not goku pretended to lose to vegeta
there are definitely other things im forgetting right now bc it has been a minute but. overall it wasn’t great, i was honestly kind of disappointed bc i was looking forward to it for a long time, piccolos my favorite. BUT. it wasn’t terrible! i know i was very critical here but i didn’t hate it. probably a better experience in a theatre setting, the fights might have been better with better sound. would’ve liked more of superhero elements (where r u saiyaman…. we need u……..). definitely wayyyyy inferior to the broly movie. kind of at the same level as like. tree of might.

Opium - EASY! It’s “The Smell” Honestly? That album isn’t the best, and I can’t listen to any of the songs on it besides “The Smell”. Makes me imagine a killer with a murder cave of sorts with their newest victim.
WDYKD? (What Do You Know, Deutschland?) - Easily “Me I Funk”. Don’t know what it is about that song that I like.
Don’t Blow Your Top - REALLY tied between the title track and “No Meat - No Man”, though I am going to have to go with the title track. The first verse (is that right) is awesome.
UAIOE - The title track. Hearing Sascha Konietzko’s voice in that song? Look, I’m a simple man and needed a new voice to simp over after I found out Terrance Zdunich was a TERRIBLE human being, and after hearing that song? SOLD-
Naive - “Piggybank”. I wanna sing it to whoever becomes my partner if I ever learn how to sing tbh.
Money - “Spiritual House” I like the dark tone I say it has to the beat. Though I also like the title track because the opening reminds me of a fun secret spy thing or whatever (Even if the song is talking about drug dealing)
Angst - “A Hole in The Wall” Another one of those songs I wanna sing to whoever I get with. Plus the line “When I have to die then I want to suffocate between your sweet breasts.” is my favorite.
Nihil - I would say “Juke-Joint Jezebel” but “Revolution” is looking mighty fine over there- I actually like both songs so I’m saying both.
Xtort - “Power” Honestly? Gets me going into a burst of energy, so it’s a favorite. Plus “Industrial soundtrack to the holy wars!” is an awesome line.
Symbols - STRAY BULLET! FROM THE BARREL OF LOVE- Ahem… I love “Stray Bullet” more than anyone should, so it’s definitely that. Plus we must reclaim that song from the TCC people who like two very bad people WAAAY too much.
Adios - The title track because honestly? For a “farewell” album? IT SUCKS- like, legitimately.
Attak - “Sleep” Really underrated because I’ve never seen anyone talk about it ANYWHERE. I imagine two characters going undercover, one reassuring the other, before striking.
WWIII - “Bullets, Bombs, and Bigotry” Brace yourself for World War Three ;)
Hau Ruck - The title track! Makes me imagine all of the industrial/factory-esc areas I have for my characters, and them working hard.
Tohuvabohu - “Bumaye” I agree with anyone who says it makes them feel powerful, because it does. If I had the CD I would probably strip this track specifically and make a little animation to the german (is it german?) verse… IF I KNEW WHAT IT MEANT-
Blitz - This one is really hard because I’ve never really cared to listen to the entire album, but I’ll have to go with “Me & My Gun”. It gives me a trigger happy character from a video game vibes.
WTF!? - “Dystopia”! If I had better drawing ideas then I’d probably draw something to this. Gives me the vibes of someone promising something to another person.
Kunst - “Quake”, though the title track does tie with this song.
Our Time WIll Come - “Salvation”, easily, with no elaboration.
Hell Yeah - A tie between the title track and “TOTAL STATE MACHINE” (Especially with everything going on in the U.S by the time I post this.)
Paradise - “Megalo” A creepy, eerie, dystopian, futuristic version of Megalomaniac? YES PLEASE! Or at least that’s the feel I get from on.

Okay so I just thought of something. So, when MC is summoned to the Devildom, they don’t know wtf is going on. So obviously, they weren’t prepared to y’know… disappear from the Earth realm for a year. But how do you think the people around MC would react? Like, literally one day they were there, and then they completely went missing. I feel like that part of the exchange program is never really touched upon, cause that… that would be cause for alarm, at the very least. Especially if the MC is a popular or influential person, so a lot more people notice when they disappear.
But here’s what’s worse: out of nowhere, MC comes back to Earth. But they’ve got a bunch of pact marks with demons (!!!) and apparently they died, but it’s okay, they’re alive again! Idk dude, if whoever they’re talking to doesn’t believe in angels and demons and stuff like that, I think at that point they’d think MC had just gone completely off the deep end.
Tbh this is something I think about a lot as well. Most of the MCs I’ve made are lonely or isolated people to try and avoid this narratively, especially since the game really does just make it seem like Diavolo just yanked a human out of the Human World without much forethought. You can tell it’s not something they really thought on too much, either, since it’s... not really brought up again?
Which is fine! Honestly, it is, because it helps keep MC a neutral slate and allows players a chance to come up with their own thoughts - but I also would’ve liked a bit more information on it, if only because Diavolo’s powers are... incredibly inconsistent. Imagining how he did it is difficult when he seems to be capable of everything under the sun with oddly placed (or sometimes ignored) limitations.
That said, this is me we’re talking about. So naturally I have a few thoughts regardless on how Diavolo might’ve gotten around the issue of MC’s absence, as well as how the people MC knew might respond to their sudden return (assuming that he did plan for something prior to MC’s arrival and didn’t just drag them down to the Devildom, because even Diavolo can’t have been that oblivious to the potential consequences).
As always, I’ve written this post for a gender neutral MC with they/them pronouns, since I’m talking about MC in general!

Contact
At some point, Diavolo let MC contact their family. This is arguably the most boring answer, but it’s also the most logical. Even if MC didn’t tell the full truth, at least being able to inform their family that they’d be away for a year - without internet access - would avoid most issues. Their return, then, would be expected, and they would be capable of seamlessly melding back into society with no-one the wiser.
This would also explain away things like MC being a year older and having pact marks; a year has passed, and they could just say they went a little wild and got a bunch of tattoos.
Plus, being away from home for a year, people would expect them to return a little different than before. They have no idea what happened while MC was away, and as far as they’re aware, MC spent the entire time somewhat off-the-grid. So something like MC cooking bigger portions (or cooking at all)? Well, that’s something they had to do while away. Or, MC frequently checking the fridge’s stock? Oh, that’s a habit they got into because one of the boys they were lodging with had a habit of fridge-raiding.
So, this answer allows MC to behave differently without being seen as too weird or suspicious for it. People change in a year; there’s really nothing that odd about it. It might take some getting used to, sure, but if MC’s smart enough to sort of keep up the charade they came up with when first contacting their family, then I can’t imagine there’d be too much worry.
I think at most MC’s family would be panicked over their initial, sudden disappearance, but a few official (and potentially charmed) letters from Diavolo would iron any concerns out fairly quickly.
This is the answer most used in fanfic, whenever that concept gets touched upon, which makes sense; it’s the easiest explanation without having to go into any more detail, so more of the focus can be on what MC does in the Devildom rather than how MC integrates back into society.
It also gives a more logical explanation for MC’s later return; they can just claim the same thing happened again, only this time for a more advanced level of education.
Doppleganger
Diavolo has a doppleganger up in the Human World playing the part of MC. This is a bit more fun! Dopplegangers aren’t perfect, but they are just about good enough; the people MC knew might not think anything is inherently wrong, but would recognise (depending on how close they are to MC) that something isn’t quite right, either.
Being mirrors of their real counterparts, Doppleganger!MC would have the opposing dominant hand to MC; they might prefer their drinks without sugar if MC prefers theirs with; their hair would part on the opposite side, or curl in the opposite direction. They would know most of the things MC does, but not all, especially if they’re trying to recall something from years ago.
It’d seem, perhaps, that MC is just a little... lost. Like there’s something they’re hiding, or maybe that they’re just not at their best. Their family might worry for them, but it wouldn’t really be enough to say for certain that they need to stage an intervention. Maybe just enough to keep a closer eye on them than usual, though.
When MC returns, suddenly back to their usual self, most people would assume they’d gotten out of whatever funk had been troubling them. Chances are there wouldn’t be too many questions asked, especially if MC played along and pretended that they’d just been feeling off, or claimed that they’d been depressed/struggling mentally. They might have to deal with worried friends/family mother henning them a little bit, or mandatory therapy sessions to help with the stuff they’d been “struggling” with, but most people would just be relieved that they’re okay again.
Doppleganger!MC would disappear as soon as MC arrives. If we say that Dopplegangers are actually made from a person’s reflection, they’d simply slip back into MC’s mirror, and return the memories of the year they lived to MC.
As you can imagine, that’d be difficult for MC to get used to, at first; they’d have two sets of memories for the same year, after all. They might have moments of recollecting the wrong event with the wrong people, or saying an inside joke that their family isn’t in on. It’d get easier as the memories settle with time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if MC had chronic headaches for the first few months - which might help to convince people even more that MC had just been quietly struggling.
Coma
MC’s real body is still up in the Human World, maybe in some sort of coma. The MC we see in the Devildom is MC’s awareness and soul hosted inside a temporary body.
This one’s a little more... fantastical? It would suggest that MC’s Devildom body is something like a golem, maybe; an empty vessel that Diavolo’s used to channel everything they are into.
MC likely wouldn’t even know the difference. We know Diavolo’s strong enough to turn a dying angel into a human, after all; turning a magical vessel into something living with the help of the soul itself might be well within his power. In this case, the golem would become flesh and blood; every inch as real as MC’s actual body, with all their defining features (like scars and stretch marks) copied over as well.
Being magical, their Devildom body can be healed more easily; that’s how they can survive Lucifer’s attack, for instance. It’s not indestructable, however. They can still die, it just takes a lot more - e.g. Chapter 16.
If they die in their Devildom body, their real body dies, too. Unless their future self happens to take their place in the timeline. Then they just flatline and come back from the brink.
This gives a little more freedom for MC’s return to the Human World. We can say that Diavolo wasn’t sure about the success of the Exchange Programme when he was preparing to grab MC - or wanted to keep some of the Devildom’s secrets quiet for a bit longer while he subtly improved relations once the programme was concluded - so engineered a situation where MC's time in the Devildom could be written off as some sort of coma-dream.
Imagine waking up, bleary-eyed and disorientated, to pristine white walls and the shrill, steady beeping of machinery. MC’s first experiences awake in the Human World would be doctors and nurses bustling about around them, slowly helping them come around from the coma, and the slew of tests and questions that would follow someone waking up an entire year later.
They wouldn’t have time to think about the Devildom, and by the time they did, they’d already have been told about the circumstances that led to them being in the hospital. Mentioning their missing year would result in a “sometimes these things happen with comas” explanation, because weirder things have happened than someone waking up thinking they went to hell - such as a woman speaking fluent Spanish despite never learning a single word of the language, or waking up with a completely different accent.
It would be easier for MC to reintergrate into society, of course; they’d be supported by hospital staff who aren’t likely to let MC live too long in the “delusion” of their coma-dream. They’d likely even go through therapy to help them cope with the stress of having lost an entire year, and that would likewise deal with the “reality” of situation, and encourage them to let go of their memories of the Devildom.
Some MCs might stubbornly cling to their memories, but others might genuinely come to believe that their year in the Exchange Programme was nothing more than a dream. So the latter would move on easily, with few questions from family members and friends, and little else said about the year they were in a coma. Meanwhile, the former might be forgiven for descending into demonology and babbling on about demons on the grounds of “they’re struggling to cope” - or they might be sent to further therapy sessions until they finally just give up trying to talk about it, holding onto their memories bitterly in their heart.
Timetravel
Diavolo, using Barbatos’ time-related abilities, sent MC back to the Human World moments after they were originally taken. This means that MC lives an entire year that no-one else in the Human World has.
I mean, it makes sense, doesn’t it? Barbatos has time-related abilities, and was capable of sending MC back in time during Chapter 16. Sending them back mere seconds after they left would create a stable time loop and ensure that nobody ever noticed MC was gone at all - even if they were somewhere public.
There would be a lot more of a struggle for MC with this concept, however. They’d have memories of a year that no-one else does, and no explanation for why they’ve so suddenly changed. Any habits they picked up, or scars they have, or fears they gained, wouldn’t make sense to the people around them. Why would it? A moment ago MC was acting just fine, and now they’re acting... weird.
This would be the MC most likely to be seen as absolutely nuts by their friends and family. If they slipped up, there’d be no way to explain why. If they said it was 2022 instead of 2021, they’d have to awkwardly laugh it off and say it was just a slip of the tongue. If they mentioned any of the brothers, they’d have to make up an entirely different backstory for them and a reason for why they’d never spoken about them before.
Everything they said or did has the potential to be seen as suspicious. How suspicious, or what people choose to believe in response, depends on what MC says - but at the very least, MC’s friends and family would probably think they’re having a nervous break. (More open-minded friends and family might genuinely start to wonder if MC’s a timetraveller.)
There are a thousand pitfalls and mines MC would have to dance around daily to avoid getting caught out, and it’d be stressful as hell.
It’s not just them talking about demons and angels, even thoughtlessly - though they are the most likely to joke that Satan would love their neighbour’s cat, or to grumble over a “totally inaccurate” depiction of Lucifer that he’d hate to so much as know existed, and get some warning looks from the especially religious. (Honestly, though, it’d be easy to laugh that off as having some weirdly-named online friends. For years my parents got used to me calling my friends by their usernames or nicknames, so a quick-thinking MC could play it off cool.)
It’s also them trying not to give away insignificant future knowledge.
For instance, if Levi found a way to stream an ongoing anime for MC in the Devildom, they’d be a whole year ahead of the current show. Any conversation they entered would be a potential fuck up away from them accidentally revealing something that hasn’t been shown yet. By the time the show caught up, they’d be well known for their “scarily accurate predictions”.
More than that, however, it’s just... MC trying very hard to smile and act like they always used to, but having forgotten who they used to be. A year is a long, long time, and the Devildom may have changed MC’s personality completely. Trying to remember who they were would be almost impossible, and knowing that who they are isn’t accepted would take its toll eventually.
Charms
Knowing that MC had been chosen for the Exchange Programme, Diavolo - either by himself or using someone like Asmodeus - charmed everyone MC knew into simply filling in the blanks.
There’s a degree of fucked up demonic magic to this concept, so if you believe in a more demonic Devildom, this might be the better idea.
The charm wouldn’t blank people entirely. They wouldn’t forget that MC exists, or believe a pre-determined lie; that leaves a chance for magic-sensitive humans to break free of the charm if it conflicts with their own thinking, even if the probability of that happening is exceedingly rare.
Instead, it would gently tweak their thinking. It would let them say a believable lie, and make others around them more susceptible to believing that lie. Essentially, they’d all come to their own conclusions, though surrounding a more centralised concept.
For instance, it might start when a friend (or boss) rings up MC’s parents to know why they aren’t responding. If there’s a currently sick family member, the parent would say that MC’s taking time out to provide 24/7 care; if MC’s known to be a musician, the parent would say that MC’s been picked up by an unknown band and is chasing glory across the country.
The friend would spread that to other friend circles; the parent to other family members. It’d be a sort of circle of suspicion and acceptance:-
Brows furrowed, lips pulled down, a halting, “Does... anyone know what happened to MC?”
A sudden click in someone else, the charm sparking in their mind, a reassuring smile tugging at their cheeks, “Oh, don’t you remember? They’re...”
The charm flickering to life in the original speaker, an embarrassed laugh, a flood of relaxation rushing through their limbs, “Shit, right, I totally forgot...”
So by the time MC returns, there’s no panic. People welcome them back in without a second thought, half-asking questions and cutting MC off if they start to say something that goes against the established lie with a, “oh, that’s nice, but -”. Conversations quickly change as the magic diverts their thinking away from any form of suspicion, so MC can’t unravel the spell with the truth.
It means they can’t talk about their year in the Devildom at all, of course, but it also means they can come back without much fuss. Any changes are looked over; peoples’ eyes glance towards new scars or marks and slowly haze as they shift away before clearing again; new fears or personality differences are laughed off as being part and parcel of whatever kept them away for a year; thoughts drift away whenever someone thinks to question something MC’s said or done.
No actually talking about the Devildom, but they could relate heavily edited hijinks and stories.
Disappointing for MC, definitely, and maybe a little disturbing - but they’d be safe to talk, at least, about the boys in general terms, because the charm would make their friends and family equate each brother to a figure in the lie (such as a bandmate or manager in the “MC joined a band” concept).
So! You might’ve noticed that I didn’t actually go over the pact mark topic much, except on the very first idea. That’s because I have my own ideas for how MC could get away with them that could work regardless of situation, pretty much!
Pact Marks
Pact marks are anchored to the soul; they appear on the body as a physical indication of demonic claim, and follow the soul regardless of body swapping (whether intentional or accidental).
In the case of our Coma option, MC’s Devildom body would initially bare the pact marks, as that’s where their soul resides; they’d then transfer to MC’s real body once they’re returned to the Human World.
Being magical in nature, however - and uniquely attuned to the soul - they aren’t always visible to the naked eye.
How this works is entirely up to interpretation, but I personally have three “rules” I like to follow - though you can also use each rule as a single option.
- Pact marks are only visible to those imbued with magic.
The naked eye isn’t capable of seeing magical elements without assistance, and even then struggles to see anything related to the soul. As pact marks are a representation of claim over the soul, no non-magical human can see them; they’d simply see bare skin.
Only sorcerers like Solomon or magic-sensitive people (those who are untrained or really don’t have enough magic to be trained) would be able to see them. The latter, however, would really only see smudges; enough to know the marks are there, but not which demons they relate to.
On top of this, even if the pact marks are covered up by clothing, sorcerers and the magic-sensitive will still be able to feel them. The pact marks give off a magic signature that other beings with magic can sense, even if they can’t physically see the marks.
(If you view this as a single option: this means only friends and family who can use magic would see/feel the marks, so MC would likely have a very interesting discussion with them on their return to the Human World.)
- MC can, at will, hide the marks from the magic-sensitive.
This takes time to master, and won’t initially look very good - if it works at all. It’s sort of like the magical equivalent of learning how to hide a tattoo with concealer without it looking splotchy, being discoloured, or coming off.
Covering them up with a little magic doesn’t physically get rid of them; anyone weaker than MC won’t perceive the claim and won’t feel the magic signature, but anyone stronger will be able to at least feel the magic resonance the marks emit, if not outright see the marks crystal clear.
It’s a little added protection against more magic-sensitive friends and family, should MC happen to know any.
(If you view this as a single option: the marks would be naturally visible to normal humans, and MC would have to put effort into concealing them with magic. So they’d have to conceal the marks when out and about, and might get tired a little faster due to the energy it takes up.)
- The brothers can also dictate the visibility of the marks.
And - albeit begrudgingly - agree to conceal them from sight the night before MC’s departure.
The marks represent the brothers’ claim over MC’s soul, after all, so act as a direct point of connection between demon and human (though technically MC’s not required to divvy it up for the brothers when they die). As such, the brothers can hide or intensify the marks as they please - and since they’re quite literally the Avatars of Sin, they’re easily capable of overpowering MC’s attempts to hide them.
This (for instance) usually means that Mammon’s mark is the most visible even to the weakly magic-sensitive, and that it’ll be the “loudest” mark even when MC’s actively trying to cover it up. The night before leaving, however - should he have agreed to it - he’d have dimmed it so much that even someone as powerful as Solomon would struggle to place its position on MC’s body.
He’d only up its intensity again if he felt MC tug on the mark to increase its visibility.
(If you see this as a single option: yes, this absolutely means MC would have to beg the brothers not to be clingy and to hide the pact marks the night before they return to the Human World. If the brothers didn’t listen, there’s very little MC would be able to do except maybe change their wardrobe to include things that cover up the marks.)
A fourth, unrelated option to the above rules - if you think the marks are a physical thing anyone can see - would be this:
- The pact marks are always visible, but concealed by Diavolo with a simple charm.
It’s easy, after all, to trick humans into looking over things that are staring them in the face with basic deception; a demon prince would have no issue setting up a spell that makes people glance over the marks without a second thought.
Which works lore-wise, too, since Diavolo would want to protect MC while they’re up on the Human World (by not making them a massive target) and would be difficult for pretty much anyone to see through (since even Solomon and Simeon can’t see through Diavolo’s illusions). It’s pretty much fool-proof.
