Random worldbuilding from The Unfinished Book:
While there is no unified, clearly defined LGBT community, the people who would by our definition fall under that umbrella are heavily associated with religion. While the general cultural assumption is that everyone is at least a little bit bisexual - the idea that almost everyone hypothetically could encounter a woman so handsome or a man so beautiful that they'd go gay for them is aknowledged well enough to be a common theme in poetry and literature - being queer is more or less considered a way in which various gods "earmark" their own.
This is considered a matter beyond obvious - there are whole creation myths of how the gods who created the world grew annoyed about how all the humans they made were too busy having and raising their own children to properly focus on worshipping their gods or caring for society at large, so the gods saw fit to create people who would rather love their own sex, or not desire marriage or children at all, to ensure there are some whose hands and minds are free to focus more on the gods.
The Empire tolerates any and every religious practice that doesn't threaten the state, break other laws or cause public disturbance, so while there are some major gods whose temples are in almost every city, the pantheon of gods whose existence is aknowledged is essentially infinite. The churches, temple organisations and schools of various major gods, goddesses and ambiguous divine entities and their devoted priests and servants aren't simply there, but play a part in society and politics, as bankers, historians, librarians, curators, doctors and educators. Some run orphanages.
One big, major player in the field is the order of the Moon Goddess. They don't literally worship the moon, the moon is simply the symbol of the Goddess, whose realm is the perfect logic and structure of the universe, which cannot be touched or even properly comprehended by the fallible and imperfect human mind. Their philosophy is that there is no such thing as a question without an answer or a thing without purpose, and anything that appears so is simply beyond human grasp. While there are Moon Priestesses who aren't trans women, they are few and far between, and still less rare than trans women who aren't priestesses.
This is considered an example of how clear and logical the Moon Goddess is - the dysphoria of AMAB people is culturally regarded as them feeling a calling, a call that cannot be mistaken for anything else, a puzzle with one logical answer that they must personally find and embrace, which cannot be disputed by any mortal force, and can only be denied and repressed for so long by the Chosen Subject before they accept it. Becoming a Moon Priestess isn't an "I don't know what to do with my life so I might as well do this" choice in life, it was a choice that was made for you before you were born.
In the book, the protagonist encounters a trans man on his journey and they travel together for a while. After discovering the nature of how Terrel is, the protagonist isn't baffled by the idea that trans men exist at all - mainly he is unfathomably relieved that this small and boyish youth who drinks, gambles, fights, fucks and commits murder like a grown man is actually older than himself and not, like, thirteen - but astonished that Terrel isn't religious, and doesn't consider himself "chosen" by any god. He just is, and as far as he's concerned, the gods have nothing to do with it.
Also it suddenly makes a lot more sense that his name translates to "son of a hyena bitch", something that no woman would name her own child. He named himself, and his mother is a huge bitch.

LMK || The Clay-Made Monkey
ATTENTION!!! THIS HAS SPOILER FOR SEASON FOR OF LMK, SPECIFICALLY THE IMAGES THAT ARE ADDED HERE!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
*
*
*
*
* After many months, Sun Wukong finally found it. He had searched many times all around Flower Fruit Mountain, turning over every rock to find more rocks. Searched the caves hidden deep inside the mountain and the cold beaches that he refused to go near until now. He finally found it. The one.
The perfect rock.
The rock perfectly fit both hands, wrapping it around as a whole. He held it close to his chest and cuddled it, happy he had finally found it! This was it! This would be the one for him to use.
The perfect rock to make his son.
So many years, decades, centuries, of him being alone. He may have his small army of monkeys and a throne in the waterfall cave, but he was lonely. Lui Er would only visit so rarely as he traveled with the wind to find his music. Baijie, Tripitaka, Wujing, and Dragon Horse were long gone, passed away, and reincarnated into who knows when and where.
He needed someone to talk to. Someone that could hold a conversation. Someone to be able to take care of. Fill his lonely heart with love. Someone like a son.
Sun Wukong reached the top of Flower Fruit Mountain, the very same place where he was born out of stone that touched both earth and heaven, the south, east, west, and north corners pillars. Where he began his life but never reached death.
On top of the mountain stood Nüwa. Nüwa was the mother goddess, crafting humanity out of nothing due to her own loneliness. She, too, understands Sun Wukong's own feelings about wanting a companion. She appeared in a bright yellow light to answer the old Monkey King's prayers as he begged for a life he can take care of. In her right hand, she held a bowl full of yellow clay, and in her left, tools to craft the clay.
“I see you have brought the rock.” She spoke in a soft mystical voice. A smile formed on her lips as she glided herself towards the Monkey King. “It is a beauty. Tell me, why did you choose this one out of all the other ones?”
Wukong chose his words carefully. He knew whatever he answered would influence how Nuwe would craft his clay child.
“This rock,” Wukong spoke. “This rock in my hands fell on my lap one day when I was outside my cave. It was warm from the sun and covered in moss from when the water touched the earth. No wind could have pushed this or heaven would have destined this upon me. No other rock would have fallen down from where it had come from except for this. This is how I had come upon my child. This is who my child will be born from.”
Tumblr media
Nüwa's silence was comforting as he held out the rock towards her. With his strength, he split the rock in half. Inside it was hollow, the perfect place to put his clay child. Sun Wukong placed the pieces on the mossy stone pillar where his stone once stood. There, he sat down on the floor and watched Nuwe perform her craftsmanship.
Tumblr media
Nüwa started off by collecting the clay from the bowl into her hands. Her coarse hands moved with grace as she created life out of a lump of moist yellow clay. The figure took shape into a small monkey with lumpy spiky hair and a messy heart shape mark over its eyes and nose. And the little tale that kept sliding off of its bottom. But Wukong was patient, for once, as his tail eagerly wagged left to right watching. He knew what Nuwe was doing. Another test of his was to learn patience as her craft took time to get its shape perfectly.
With a quick flip of her hand, a small fire erupted from a small crack in the ground. Its light was hot despite how small it was as the mother goddess placed the little clay body near it. She laid out her tools in front of her, her hands waving around before she picked up the smallest carving knife. She picked up a small knife and gently made her large adjustments on such a delicate-looking body. The eyes were wide, bright-eyed as it looked straight ahead at Nuwe. Its body was like a form between a human and a monkey with long human limbs but the fur of an animal all over the elbow, shoulders, thighs, and calves. Its messy heart took the form of a perfect little peach, just the same as Sun Wukong's birthmark. The crooked smile on the toddler's face made Nuwe laugh as she gently massaged its spiky hair, carefully wrapping it around a little hair tie to hold it in place
What seemed like hours turned out to be slow minutes as she held out the beautifully crafted ceramic piece in front of Sun Wukong. Wukong stared at it in awe, tears that would never fall mist his peachy eyes as the little figure was dropped in his hands. It was beautiful. This was going to be his little sun.
Tumblr media
Wukong felt a small tug on his head and the slight pain of his hair being plucked out. He looked up and watched as Nuwe placed the orange hair in the small open hands of the clay figure.
“Sun Wukong. Your son is ready to be born from my hands but the mind of yours.” Nuwe declared. “May its life prosper in both heaven and earth as it becomes full of life!”
“Thank you… Goddess?” He said but as he looked up, all that was left was a fading bright light. She had disappeared, fulfilling her duty.
Sun Wukong shook his head as he smiled, a little chuckle leaving his lips. “Looks like it’s just you and me, bud.”
Sun Wukong placed the little clay figure inside one of the halves of the broken rock. He grabbed the other half and placed it over the other, covering up his little clay child before he used his strength to stick the halves together. Patting it down on the stone pillar, he took a few steps back.
He sat down, legs crossed and his hands on each side, and he waited. He would wait for as long as he needed for his son to come out. With his eyes closed and a deep breath, he meditated. And with his heart full of glee, he stayed calm and waited. Wait… wait… and wait.

Soul Eater Revised Overview!
In case you didn’t know, I have a fan project in the works called Soul Eater Revised, a rewrite/personal interpretation of Soul Eater’s world and narrative. It’s primarily a written piece, but I also have a lot of designs and stuff for it too! has its own blog @souleaterrevised and chapters of the fanfic here on AO3 (they're only accessible if you have an account just to prevent AI scanning).
There’s so much I can get into, and I want to leave at least some surprises… but I can’t help myself. I might as well give some sneak peeks at everything I’m cooking!
Obviously there will be a good amount spoilers for everything I’m planning, so reading all of this is to your own discretion!
Lore & Worldbuilding
Y’know the whole thing at the end of Fire Force where it ends as like… a “prequel” to the SE world out of nowhere? Yeah, some people find that cool while others find it incredibly forced. I… I think it’s both. I have some thoughts on how I would rework Fire Force myself, and part of that is the ending and how it connects to SE. Essentially, the world of flames and infernals dies, but is reborn into a world of souls and magic. The supernatural and fantastical become inherently tied to this new world thanks to Adolla’s whole deal with shared human perception and all that.
Excalibur is the most obvious piece of evidence of the Old World existing— He’s essentially the personification of Arthur’s escapism and loneliness. He got pulled out of the spiritual realm and can’t really get back… so he’s just kinda been hanging out in the physical world for multiple centuries. Truth be told, he just misses his dad, man.
So yeah, Shinra, Iris, Tamaki, etc… they all kinda die??? But they also like… become these fun deities known as Patrons. Much of what’s known about them in the New World is this weird mix of myth and fact.
Speaking of deities, I got more information on how those work!! Essentially, there are multiple deities that work with and look after their associated cultures. For example, death deities such as Anubis/Anpu focus on collecting the souls of those living in Egypt.
Most deities focus on their respective groups (but obviously intermingle and all that), but there are a few deities who work more internationally! These include Lord Death (obviously, lol), Lady Gaia (also known as Mother Nature), and Arcane (Observer of Magic)
There may or may not also be a goddess of madness and chaos whose stuck in a distorted realm of flesh and black ooze. But she’s not trying to get back out into the physical world or anything… right? @hollyhuedhorror may know more about her ;3
Due to deities and magic and all of this fun stuff being more commonplace, not only has global transportation developed a little earlier (especially for supernatural communities), but there was a lot of intervention (especially when LD shows up and sets up DWMA) of “HEY. DON’T COLONIZE AND ENSLAVE EACH OTHER.” Immigrants learn to coexist with indigenous communities, people travel across the world because they wish to and not by force, all that good stuff. Essentially we replace most of the racism/cultural prejudice with… soul type prejudice. Call that what you will.
Soul types are a lot more developed as a concept— it honestly deserves its own post, but to get a major, mostly relevant thing out there: Monsterfolk (associated with animals and magic as a whole) and fae (associated with the elements) were essentially the overseers of humans in much of ancient history due to their sheer power and longer lifespans. Witches are initially created as the offspring between Monsterfolk and humans, though their soul type can pass down through further generations. Enchanters are essentially the same thing, but the offspring of fae and humans. Many of these magical people were genuinely benevolent and helped humans… but a lot of them were also very tyrannical, finicky, all that stuff
Living weapons generally discover their powers around puberty (the average being around 13-14 years old). Just about every soul type is capable of carrying weapon abilities (through genetics and whatnot), so it’s not too uncommon for powerful soul types to unlock their powers much earlier. This is the case for Fire and Thunder! They’re 5 year old nymphs (Fae) and already have phenomenal control of their gauntlet forms.
Aside from deities and corrupted souls like kishins/afreets and phantoms, there are 3 categories for soul types: Human, Monsterfolk, and Fae. These three categories each have their own “enhancements”— incredibly rare variants of the average soul’s capabilities.
Humans - Warrior, Seer, Grigori, Pixie
Monsterfolk/Witches - Sorcerer
Fae/Enchanters - Shaman
Lord Death was… essentially sent down to the physical world as a “janitor” in the Middle Ages (around the 1200s to be more specific). A lot of deaths have been happening to the point where people aren’t really performing the proper rituals to help souls pass on. So LD is sent in to help collect leftover souls and figure out the sorta things causing so much destruction
While he’s getting adjusted there, he ends up meeting some supernatural people such as the sorcerer Eibon and witch Arachne. They form a fun little travel group going around the world and helping people/hunting down corrupted souls. Arachne was incredibly passionate about wanting humans and the supernatural to see each other as equals.
During these adventures, Arachne finds an orphan child who’s village had gotten destroyed and he lost his parents. Arachne, having so much maternal instinct as she does, takes the boy in as her own kid (even though her sisters aren’t too much older than him lmao). This totally doesn’t have a domino affect on anything, I promise :)
But yeah, what do you do when you’re personally hit with the fact that humans are far more vulnerable and die easily compared to you and your supernatural companions? That this vulnerability is what many supernaturals exploit for their dominance in society? You want to find ways to help humans defend themselves, right? And if you already travel with what is essentially an overpowered living weapon… you’re gonna get some ideas, right?
Just because you may have the ability to bring the dead back to life… does that mean you should? What if the revived have no idea what to do with the sudden powers and rejuvenated, unnatural body you’ve given them? What if they don’t remember their past lives? What if they eventually or already do? To literally die and be reborn… it could cause u to go a little cuckoo bananas one way or another.
None of this leads to the divorce between a Reaper and the Spider Witch. Or the first fully corrupted Kishin to be born. Or an octopus merman becoming eldritch. Or witches fearing for their lives on all sides and creating their own pocket dimension for refuge. Nope. Not at all. (In case you genuinely can’t tell, this is sarcasm. So much shit goes down but we don’t have time to unpack all of that)
DWMA Details
The Death Weapon Meister Academy/Association is an international organization that focuses on fighting against corrupted souls, along with teaching living weapons (and meisters) how to control their powers.
The DWMA has several regional branches, each with their own overseeing staff and representative Death Weapon (also known as Death Scythes).
Normally Overcome Target (aka NOT) courses are available at each region’s headquarters, while the Especially Advanced Talent (EAT) program is held exclusively in Death City, Nevada.
The academy predominantly teaches middle-high school students, between (U.S.) grades 7-12. They also provide a large amount of university/college courses for graduates. In most cases, students enroll in whatever grade they would continue in normal school, or the grade most applicable for their age.
If a weapon or meister in a partnership graduates before the other, they remain with their partner but don’t have to continue schoolwork (or they simply move forward with higher, college-level courses)
In order to be in EAT you have to be at least in 9th grade/3rd year, which usually means you spent at least 2 years in NOT courses.
If you enter the academy at an older age, you still need to be enrolled in the NOT course for at least 2 years (some exceptions depend on whether your partner is also able to enroll)
Character Notes
To be completely honest I plan on expanding more background and development on almost every character (because lord knows we need it) so I don’t think I can list everything and everyone. However I will cover some general highlights and details I think are very swag.
First things first, I don’t write Blair as a gross fan-service baiting creep! She’s still very playful but only gets coy and flirtatious around actual adults. I’m making her the big sister/maternal figure bad bitch she deserves to be! She’s also getting more of a backstory— She was adopted and raised by an incredibly powerful sorcerer who… will be quite involved in the later stages of SER’s main storyline. Blair gets her own sample of the horrors, I’m so sorry queen.
Ah yes. We’ll be diving a lot deeper into horrors and madness as a whole. Of course I’ll do more with Soul, Stein, etc… but we’re gonna make madness a little more gender inclusive. That is to say, Maka’s gonna have more unhinged grinning to do! Tsubaki’s gonna become an Omori kinnie! Not even Liz and Patty are safe!
Get ready to explore and learn about more characters’ families and upbringing! It’s… it’s actually a pretty big recurring topic.
I will be including and reworking NOT as the first few months of the school year before the main SE plot kicks in! You will learn to enjoy Tsugumi and her girlfriends… hopefully.
Shaula has more of an independent and chaotic personality compared to Medusa and Arachne. She has a history of pulling major conspiracies and stunts, especially around DWMA. Why does she do this? Mostly for shits and giggles. Don’t be fooled, she is not above manipulating an already traumatized girl and making her memory repression even worse.
Princess Ponera and Nars Garnier from the Wii Game, Monotone Princess, are included! They’re gonna be associated with Noah. Ponera is a haughty, pompous princess dead-set on vengeance. Nars is an arrogant, deceptively friendly man who blends Phantom of the Opera with Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Ponera and Shaula are girlfriends. They’re actually very healthy despite being y’know. Evil.
While we’re on the subject… Noah Grimoire is a sorcerer Eibon took in and mentored 600 years before the main story (but sadly, Eibon thinks Noah died in an accident… this isn’t the case). His associated animal is worms, and it’s very easy to joke he is a major bookworm himself. That term goes even deeper than you can imagine :)
Noah thinks he’s the next Xehanort Kingdom Hearts (guy who makes multiple copies of himself and seeks knowledge no matter the ethics to become a god). He negotiates/coerces multiple people to work with him— including a teenage boy from early 19th century Russia. The kid’s a real angel, he doesn’t experience anything bad ever.
Ragnarok is going to be known as the Dragon Sword! He’s a dragonborn (type of monsterfolk) that just. Showed up in Norway 200 years ago and started causing havoc. Marie’s ancestors at the time were the ones who imprisoned him in his weapon form, and he was sealed away for a long time. Until… someone managed to steal him for Medusa Gorgon herself. You already kinda know what happens next
Pls don’t kill me for this but… Crona is going to be a very tragic character (I’m following the manga plotline because I think it’s super interesting). They doom themselves in the narrative more than anything. You can’t wait around for everyone else to figure out how to deal with you, after all.
Crona and Maka’s relationship is… not that healthy, all things considered! Their “guardian angel” needs to survive a codependent, homo-ambiguous teenage friendship.
Everyone pour one out for Soul as his meister repeatedly ignores his obvious discomfort over being around the person who nearly killed him. And for all their friends kinda getting ignored by Maka too, and also being pushed into hanging out with someone where neither party is that comfortable.
Marie becomes a school counselor/therapist for EAT students (and especially Crona) when she arrives after Asura’s revival. She is the Death Weapon of Northern Europe (Scandanavia) and looks after Justin a lot until LD felt he was “ready” (since he becomes a Death Weapon at such a young age and all). She’s going to go through so much guilt of feeling like she failed to guide the young people she cares so deeply for!!!
Justin is like. Baby Claude Frollo to me. If that makes sense. Tezca (“I can fix him”) and Giriko (“I can make him worse”) both take him in as their lil brother
Giriko doesn’t do the gross descendant possessing thing because that’s just. Not fun to think about! Instead he’s more or less a living golem, frequently creating new bodies for himself out of the earth. He absolutely still has a ton of kids/descendants though like the deadbeat sleazeball he is. If Denji Chainsaw Man were in SE, we unfortunately all know who would be the father.
Eibon’s narrative relevance actually becomes a big thing!! I love when all-powerful characters are actually just. Really chill and nice. He’s like that with so much guilt from all of his past actions. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that.
Proper background, time, and development for characters such as Mifune and Angela, Eruka, Free, the Mizune Family, Tabatha, and Taruho (aka Lisa and Arisa from Chupa Cabra’s)
More on the Hoshi family of meisters/martial artists and how the Star Clan branched off from it! BlackStar doesn’t just have to deal with strangers associating him with corrupted assassins, but much of his actual blood family is really restrained and they don’t want Shiroto (WhiteStar)’s kid to end up the same way.
Mabaa and the Witch Realm! The fox Witch Judge is named Netsuki and she’s Mabaa’s wife <3
Kid getting flashback dreams of Asura and more of him playing detective to uncover the mysteries his dad keeps hiding from him. Some are easy to expect and others… not so much.
Tons of OCs
Maka’s mother, Kumiko Kami-Albarn! She was originally Azusa’s partner until she caught onto Stein experimenting on Spirit when they were all students. She’s a bitch who needs to be better than everyone else (and gets jealous of her own kid rip). I like her so much
Chupa Cabra’s owner, a literal chupacabra vampire! His name is Raul, he’s the brain cell and wants to convince everyone he’s sane and normal.
Squirrel witch Nui Harime kinnie who can checkout people’s mindscapes!
Shadow fae butler dad so Kid isn’t in Gallows Manor all by himself as a child! His name is Lungelo, he’s super cool and dilf material.
EAT classmates based on several things! Magical girls! No Straight Roads! ENA! Undertale/Deltarune! They all get their own little bits to shine and be interwoven in the narrative
More Death Weapons and their meisters to match more distinct regions! For example, Southern Europe, Southeast Asia, South America (Tezca is Central America because... he's Mexican. Literally based on Aztec myths which is in Mexico), South Asia, actual regions of Africa (North, East, etc).
Characters created by my friends such as @starkitters @chalkanthit @teaableu and @silvvergears!

Picking your brain about Jack stuff (1 of 2)!
Thoughts on the little girl in the Occultum re:Jack regaining his soul? I've been so fascinated by her. First, she reminds me a little bit of young Kelly when Jack first visits Kelly in Heaven.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Kelly in Byzantium)
But overall, she's something that niggles me and I can't quite pin down. She chirpily tells Jack, "Oh, you must not be human. Humans cannot enter here," and then she asks, "Are you an angel?" She seems so excited!
Since the Occultum houses the Garden, the obvious answer could be something symbolic of Eve as the snake that appears is symbolic of Lucifer. But her words to Jack seem to imply she's not human, so she's not a perfect fit for a human Eve.
(My immediate thought was of an entity called Chokmah/Hokmah, who sometimes gets reimagined as an ancient mother-goddess but more appropriately translates to a personification of wisdom, or Lady Wisdom. Peter Penchansky even argues for Hokmah as God's daughter who played in the garden as Yahweh created the world.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The Girl from Destiny's Child, hidden away in the safest place in the world)
On the other hand, she also looks a bit like the primordial Leviathan!Eve in manner of her dress, so perhaps she is meant to be another Eve. A different symbolic Eve, as well as a callback to Kelly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Primordial Eve and the sacrifice she inhabited)
///
She also could be something of an off-key parallel to the growing Amara and Lillith?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Amara & Lillith in her original incarnation)
///
But I'm not sure. Do you favor any of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Here's the script in which she appears. :-)
i truly love the interpretation of that little girl being chokmah, especially with the whole thing being that questioning is what kicked humanity out of the garden.
i have a lot of thoughts about angels and humans, especially with all of what lucifer says throughout show. even the simple lines between lucifer and michael in swan song get to me in some way. the angels, as we see, are programmed to follow a set of orders that god (chuck) had given out a long time ago. several angels throughout the series break free of these orders and gain the idea of free will.
i think if this little girl truly is representing chokmah, her looking like a younger eve was also intentional. eve ate the apple. lucifer let the snake in. gadreel trusted lucifer. etc etc.
maybe in a way she decided to appear in that form to jack because angels and humans intermingling? not really seen. nephilim are always killed and while every angel says it's for their power, i do think there's another factor.
it's the fact that nephilim being human and angel means they cannot be programmed to fully follow the command of heaven. they can't become a weapon of god so he tossed them all aside. the angels are meant to follow orders and whenever an angel does rebel it.. goes so poorly for them
lucifer is stuck in the cage for. ages. anna has a Lot going on and ends up killed for what she does. castiel is never actually happy and the minute he is happy he dies. michael loses the One human who changed his outlook on everything.
i gotta answer your second ask still but my whole point maybe she's happy seeing an angel in jack because maybe jack is the one angel she knows who Could rebel and still be happy after (we're ignoring the finale).

So I'm reading a novel about Lilith in the now established tradition of ""feminist"" retellings of various mythologies.
It starts with Adam basically creating capitalism in Eden. He invents irrigation, writing, weapons and plenty of other innovations because he wants to control the land and make it productive. Lilith criticizes it, saying they should live in harmony with the land. And sure, criticizing capitalism and the exploitation of resources is valid, but am I the only one who find it sexist that Adam is credited with some major inventions while Lilith just lazes around? This is just the old "man= science & technology/ woman= nature & intuition" dichotomy.
(And I personnally don't subscribe to the view that there would be no wars and capitalism if women ruled the world. But that's maybe because I'm just pessimistic regarding human nature as a whole).
Then Lilith is cast out from Eden, stuff happens. She's basically on a quest to find the mother goddess Asherah and restore her. Because Lilith wants to stop violence against women. Great idea! Except that afterward Lilith joins Noah and his family. She doesn't bond with the other women, she doesn't help them. She just watch as they suffer the worst. Lilith is often used as an example of a figure who stands against the established order. I was disappointed.
And then we later learn that if Lilith visits children at night, it's because she loves them and watches over them. Not because she wants to kill them UwU. I understand the need to make her more sympathetic, but why shoehorn her into a maternal role? If Lilith has such an appeal, it's because she represents a woman who stands up to the divine powers, who rejects traditional roles. Here, her character has no edges, nothing. She's bland. A bland Lilith. Let women be messy and complicated!

The four Daughters of Aphrodite, born from the goddess's tears and desperation for her own mortal lover. Tears of ichor mixed with falling stardust to create the four sisters, created to walk amongst the mortals and gods, carrying the power of such devastating love that it could bring even the gods to their knees.
Four daughters, seeing over their realm, growing bored of only ever allowing others to love, never themselves, at least, never for long. Their own soulmate, crafted with a thread from the moon's core, linking them to their lover.
Given their born power and personification of love, the girls were always kept hidden and restricted from finding their lover, a mortal reflecting the humanity of the mortal their mother wept over, giving birth to them. But Zeus could only hold on for so long, for denying the love goddess's love, would never turn out well. It was like denying the sons of death their sweet sins, eventually, Tarturas would be raised and Zeus would cry his ichor.
Therefore Zeus allowed the fates to break the chains of destiny he had wrapped around their hearts, allowing them to find their true love, even if that true love didn't know it.
None could stand in the goddess's way, for they could rival Thanatos himself if anyone stood in the way of love.

SINCE REQUESTS ARE OPEN!! I absolutely love your megabird and darkness god duo! Their human designs are very creative and fun to look at... So- can we get some more lore about these two? Maybe some ideas, interactions, whatever you want!
Ah, I see that you are a person of culture, since you ask such a question. But before we sit down and the trip starts, I want to shake your hand for giving me an excuse to write three pages in Microsoft Word, chatting about these two. Thank you.
Let's start with something simple and already known. Megabird the light.
The fandom has two opinions about this character (?). Some people consider her evil in the flesh, they say she enslaved the elders and never loved Alef, she wanted to brainwash all people and other sins that you hung on her. Others consider her a very wise and kind ancient goddess who wishes everyone only good, and Alef is an asshole. I somehow found myself between two cults and gradually came to my own image of the mother of the Skykids. To the image of some kind of child-like deity.
Tumblr media
No, I don't think Megabird is evil. I think she really loved her people and wished them nothing but good. She's just very irresponsible and does things first and then thinks. Bird does not calculate the consequences of her actions, even good actions, so when she wants the best, it turns out well... as always. The trait is inherent in beings of light.
Now let's move on to something more specific. Namely Angst the darkness.
TGC: The darkness is evil.
Sky Fandom: The darkness is evil.
The whole planet Earth: The darkness is evil.
Me: The darkness is not evil, just misunderstood.
In my first post about Angst, I wrote why I unconditionally believe in his existence. First: Darkness has a memory. If darkness is the absence of light, then darkness is nothing, and nothing can not have memory. Second: If the darkness appeared due to the activities of Alef and elders, then people had never seen crabs and krill before the fall of the kingdom. However, in the Cave of Prophecies we can see a photorealistic image of krill, which is impossible, since the prophecy spoke only about the golden era, and not about the subsequent shattering.
Tumblr media
People have ALWAYS lived side by side with darkness, and managed to maintain harmony. That's why I had the idea to create a second god in the world of Sky. And so Angst appeared. It remained for a small matter, to write it into the lore, explain why we don't see him in the game, design, and so on. Angst came for the sake of lore, and stayed for the sake of memes and dynamics with the Bird.
And that's where the fun begins.
The dynamics of Megabird and Angst can be shown in one picture.
Tumblr media
Light embodies happiness, a bright positive emotion. The light is always in motion, and that is why, having moved from the Valley to the Wasteland, it seems to us that the darkness is almost dead. Everyone thinks darkness is emo, but in fact it's just very, very calm. But is calmness a bad emotion? Darkness is harmonious in its pacification, it does not need to rush somewhere all the time, and it just goes with the flow. Does that make her evil? It's just different.
These are the main features I put into the characters of the Bird and the Angst. Bird is a hyperactive goddess who wants to take part in the lives of people in her kingdom (for this she made Alef). Angst is a balanced god, he just wants everyone to calm down and stop climbing into his rightful possessions. He never wanted to become a part of the Bird's activity and get involved in people's lives. People attacked first. Humans were the first to produce artificial stars on an industrial scale and plunder the underworld. The darkness has risen to defend its home. And he is still fighting for it, regarding the skykids in the Wasteland as potential aggressors. That's the whole Angst. He is constantly looking for a way to calm the Storm and, unlike the Bird, which prefers a remote way to resolve the situation, he often personally visits Eden and is influenced by the infected energy much more. This explains the presence of infected creatures of darkness and the strange, unexplained immunity of light to it. Darkness strives for harmony and it always has a reason to attack. Most likely, it was also when the darkness threw the elders out of the orbit, although it is not a fact that stupid mortals like us will ever understand it. And Megabird does not rush to tell us anything.
Now it's time for random facts that I can't weave into the text, because it's 2:47 and my brain is already poorly forming sentences.
- The darkness attacked all locations where people used the darkstone, except for the Valley of Triumph. I explain this by the fact that darkness does not really tolerate cold. Fire literally flows through the veins of beings of light and therefore they always have an internal heating. Skykids may love fluffy capes, but in fact they, and other beings of light, are never cold. What can not be said about the darkness. By the way, even in human forms, the Bird and Aurora do not freeze, but the Angst does.
- Coffee is a creation of Angst. Arabica was originally found by researchers of the underworld and brought to the surface. In its pure form, the drink was too strong (though quite invigorating) for people and they learned to dilute it with sugar and milk. Angst denies such a method of use. According to him, "only cowardly beings of light drink coffee in this way." But in fact, he loves cappuccino with cinnamon, he just doesn't want to admit defeat in front of a Bird.
- If you noticed, then on different art, the Megabird has different hair lengths. I had a reason to change it. The Bird used to really have long hair, which she treasured very much, and loved to braid. But she cut it off with a darkstone blade and made out of it wings for Aurora. The Bird will not be able to simply grow it back.
- Cats are a joint project of Megabird and Angst (black wool from Angst, yellow accent from a Bird). Angst originally planned to create perfect predators out of cats, but then a Bird came and turned them into pets. By the way, it was she who invented the cat purring.
- Angst also tried to create a son for himself, and send him to people, as the Bird did with the Alef. But after looking at how much shit Alef went through, he decided to abandon this idea and protect his child's mental health. Umbra, still lives in the underworld, and Angst does not release him to the surface, because he is afraid that he will suffer from the energy of Eden. The mask with Umbra's face is worn by the Passage guide.
- Souls under the protection of Angst are called shadows. Relatives of the spirits of the season of Remebrance are shadows and while being in the underworld, they also worry about their loved ones.
- Bird and Angst's designs are based on cosmetics from the season of Shattering, but with minor changes. For example, Angst also used to wear a hair braid, like Bird. But after the war of people with darkness and the subsequent explosion of Eden, he had... no one to braid it. Angst himself does not know how to handle his hair and does not consider it necessary to study (he is too busy to do such nonsense), and he stopped communicating with the Bird. He didn't have any bruises under his eyes before either.
Tumblr media
- Black people with red hair are real! But this is a very rare combination due to the peculiarities of genetics, and it seemed to me that a Bird could choose such avatar for observing people. Also, in many world cultures, red-haired people are considered supernatural beings, which also works on the image of a Bird.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Both the Megabird and the Angst feel every eruption of Eden, but because of the corruption, it's painful for Angst, but not for Bird.
- There used to be much more passages to the underworld, but after people started taking resources from there to produce artificial stars, Angst staged a series of earthquakes and closed almost all the caves, with rare exceptions. The Golden Wasteland is not a realm of darkness, it's just a branch of the realm of darkness. A piece of the surface that Angst edited for creatures of darkness when all the local creatures of light left or were killed during the hunt for energy. Most likely, we will never see the darkness in its true greatness.
Phew, that's it. @whitebookposts let me shake your hand again for this question and for supporting posts with Angst and Bird. And now, with your permission, I'm gonna... *faints*

OK SO, since none of you are listening to me and reading Dark Castle, I'm going to continue to Not Shut Up(TM)
anyway, here's my theories about what the hell is going on: (SPOILERS FOR ENGLISH COMIC)
I think she's in Purgatory. She died or is in a coma irl, and her spirit is here in this Shadow Purgatory, where she doesn't need to eat and she has no memories of who she is or where she comes from. She has no memories of what even the purpose of eating is, or if she really needs clothes at first.
It looks like she was a Knight of Ridissa (spelling? i forget how it was spelled).
Also, it looks like Numa created his kingdom by possibly selling humans to the fae? It's confirmed that he sells humans, although he limits himself to having his shadow imps kidnap murderers and other terrible people. I think he's selling them to the fae because of that old myth that the fae pay a tithe of people to hell. Since his land is confirmed to be a "between" kingdom, between the real world and something else, I think it's like a "between" place between the land of the dead, the real world, and faerie.
Also Numa is the son of a human queen and a demon prince, so he's like double royalty. His mother died trying to protect her half-demon son because she loved him, but he's hunting his demon sire. Not sure if his demon father really loved his mother or it was just a whim for him or bargain she had made with him, idk. But Numa is hunting him and I think he blames him in having part of his mother's death. (also, just throwing it out there, the human king she was forced to marry was a fucking asshole)
Also Numa I think suffers from an Inuyasha curse - every night he either turns into a human or turns into full demon, but it might depend upon the moon. It also looks like when he's one or the other, the human side wars with his demon side. But when he's just Numa, he's a calmer version of his whole self.
I think Numa hestitated to tell her anything about his world because it operates by fae rules - if he told her the true nature of everything she'd be trapped there forever. However, as he grew closer to her, he began to hesitate because if she remembered who she was or her name, she would disappear back to her own world. THAT's why he didn't want her to say her name. Not only was it dangerous for others to know your true name, but he was afraid she'd disappear forever. When she didn't he was truly stumped (but relieved).
So the big mystery(mysteries) -
Where are they?
What is this Shadow Purgatory?
Why exactly is Numa selling humans?
Why is he trapped there?
Will he be free once he finds his demon father and have his father take his place as lord of the land?
How is Numa cursed?
Who is Sima?
What happened to her?
If she DOES remember everything will she remember or be able to see Numa once she goes back to her world?
Is Numa's human self different from Numa?
Does his human self hate his demon self? (Numa already hates himself and thinks he's a monster, like this is double hating yourself lol)
Tumblr media
EDIT: I FORGOT THE MYSTERY OF WHAT SIMA IS
She faintly glows and sometimes her eyes glow and leak power when she's close to remembering who she was
Is she a sorceress?
Is she a goddess or demigoddess??

Throughout Izuku’s life, all he ever knew was the meadows and temples his mother had for herself.
Very rarely the young God would have time to himself how much his mother kept him by her side 24/7, 365 days a year. He understood her fear though, him being her only son she couldn't handle the very thought of him being out of her sight. So, more often than not, he would be by her side helping her with her godly duties to provide for humanity.
Sometimes, the young God would often meet with other Gods and Goddesses. Those days he would cherish, especially when All Might, the God who ruled Gods, would come to see him himself. Inko, his mother, would keep watch as the large blond would play with her son, always commenting the God not to get too rough with her son.
Izuku would get embarrassed, feeling like he couldn't be as strong and proud as All Might was to fight Titans and demons alike. Yet because of his mother’s overprotective nature, she wouldn't let such a thing happen to him.
So Izuku was stuck hearing stories from either his mother, other Gods, or even the nymphs that promoted his curiosity so. He so badly wanted to have said adventures for himself, the same ones the Gods he looked up to had nearly every day.
It bored him so.
So when Izuku walked off, once again, wanting to experience a form of independence for himself, he saw a lone flower out in the distance.
Now, Izuku knows his flowers. He's made flowers of his own, some his mother made to teach him of his powers, and even let him exercise them upon the empty fields his mother created just for him.
But Izuku had never seen this flower before.
So the young God comes close to the flower, taking in every single detail, and he leaves himself exposed. He falls to his knees, excitingly tracing his fingers over the petals, talking to himself about how this flower came to be. Yet as his excitement had gotten over the young God, the air around him seemed to be still for a moment.
The wind had stopped, the animals had fled, the insects had stopped their songs, and the plants had halted their dance. The young God had taken a moment to notice what was wrong, his eyebrows frowning at the confusion over the whole ordeal.
Had his mother found out that he walked off once again? Surely she would have called out his name and he would have run off to make sure that she didn't think he ran off again.
The young God looked around him, the uneasiness getting to him as the air continued to seemingly suffocate him. He took his hands off of the flower for a second, nearly getting up on his feet to see what was wrong.
Before the ground below him had begun to shake.
Shocked, Izuku settled down to his knees again, eyes trained on the flower as it began to wilt. The petals burned as they hit the ground, the ground beginning to part itself into a large and fierce hole in the ground. Izuku fell back to his knees, his shock still affecting him had prevented him from running away.
And even when that thought could have pestered Izuku even further, the horses had burst through the ground.
Although, they didn't look like horses.
They looked almost a copy of the animal yet their forms kept expanding and stretching like clay. Their bodies were as black as night, veins pumped with red as their protruded teeth opened up to hiss at the exposure of the light above than below. Ropes of chains had held them back as they ran out in the exact direction they were given.
Izuku hadn't realized until it was too late that the chains had led to a chariot. One coated with the same colors as the horses, a man covered head to toe with armor was pulling at the reigns. Behind the mask, Izuku couldn't see the being’s face but he could only see the whiteness of their teeth turned up to reveal a smile.
Izuku immediately rushed to his feet, jumping up to gain some leverage to run away from the being. He would have made at least one step ahead if it wasn't for the quick swipe of the being wrapping onto his cloak. Harshly pulled back the same hand and then wrapped it around his waist, boosting the young God up from the ground.
Izuku finally found his voice, his breath escaping from his lungs as he was suddenly dragged down to the ground.
“MOTHER!!!”
And the young God fell through, still screaming as the ground swallowed him whole. The once-broken land then returned to what it was before, nature relaxing as the air came through to brush against the grass below.
The only thing to disturb the peace was the Goddess who rushed to see what had happened. She looked around, face struck with worry as she ran over to where she had heard her son’s cry. She nearly stumbled over her feet as she noticed the small charm left over on the ground below.
She grabbed onto it, raising it to her sight as she once again looked around her, calling out to her one and only son.
“IZUKU?!”

Some world building real quick, eko history specifically
The beggining of time
In the beggining the creator god isa created the world along with 10 gods below themselves, who even they know not of isas existence.
The nine gods created 10 different regions, and ruled over their people and their kingdoms.
Fenisikan (phoenix)
Moakan (cat)
Tyutyurikan (owl)
Wuzeikan (squid)
Manyukan (eel)
Yukan (fish)
Xiarenkan (shrimp)
Ekekan (moth)
And bachikan (bee)
All gods had their respective species they represented, all but the zhamengshukan (mantis) people, they were created without a god, and with nowhere to go, they lived in the region of the tyutyurikans.
Within 10 thousand years a time system was created, the okai, every 1000 years the okai, along with the word changes.
3
(Ex mokai, Nokai, tokai)
After 7 okai passes, the zhamenshukan people decided they wished to be independent, and though sharing land, they separated from the tyutyurikan kingdom, and formed their own country, which was then known as imi, whilst the tyutyurikan lands remained as shuki. Imi created the first non godly form of government, and it took many years for it to become common elsewhere.
700 okai passes, the year is 452 nokai and news spreads the tyutyurikan goddess having a child, it’s unknown how this was pulled off, but many believe she used stolen magic from the other gods. The child was a demigod, immortal but not invincible, a human was chosen to be immortal alongside her, and always protect her when her mother could not. Her name was walunting.
One year later, in 453, another child was born, to a mortal mother, he was said to be a creator god, along with the 10 before him, skeptical, followers of the tyutyurikan faith set out to kill the child, completing the attack, the child miraculously survived, proving his immortality, a new faith was born, and the zhamengshukan people now had a god. His name was yueshuya.
When the child of the tyutyurikan god came of age, 27, she became queen, and became the main ruler of her country. being born to be peculiar, and quickly become good friends, when they reached around 120 years of age, shuki and imi joined to form one country, through the alliance of the god and queen, the country would then be known from then on as eko.
Eko, since it’s beginning, was always a reserved country, tyutyurikans and zhamengshukans aren’t human in the way the other species are, and due to this, often kept to themselves, until 780 mikai, about 1000 years after the birth of the god, most of the surrounding land was forested for miles and miles, making it hard for people to get out, or in.
In 780 mikai, there was change, the forests were either cut down, or worked through to make them travel-able, which led to more business and merchant type alliances to form.
For 8 more okai, all remains as is, before the yukan god allianced with the tyutyurikan god, causing the agreement to connect eko, and the yukans country of gamina, though still different country, they were considered of equal region. Yukan people began to move to eko, and vise versa with tyutyurikans and zhamens. I’m about 1 more okai, the population of the two countries were almost equal between the 3 species
About 15 more okai later, the queen is killed, and the zhamen god disappears, and the tyutyurikan god and the yukan god, though still in their alliance, return to mainly caring for their own countries, the population of eko returned to 70% zhamen, and gamina became 70% yukan
At this point this world, called saira as a whole has been around for 741,000 years, or 741 okai
As of now the tyutyurikan people will not be included, a curse has taken away their humanity
But that’s for a separate post

Sorry if this is all over the place.
So I've been world building a world whose main God is Gaia, but she's nothing like the Greek mythology one. This Gaia lives for drama, so after she created the World, she had children who are also gods, and then she created dragons and humans.
Later, Gaia's godly children decided to shape/curse some humans, so they created different species.
Solar lycans are werewolves who worship the Sun God, Solaris.
Lunar lycans worship the Moon Goddess, Elune.
Elves/fairies worship the God Erekmier, the god of Forest - elves are the ones who are assigned to take care of the dragons.
Hrothgars worship Hellion, the God of everything feline - Hroths have always had difficulty with creating female babies, and they're always on the verge of going extinct.
Orks and mermen/mermaids are creations of Olysseus who is the God of underground and sea - technically, he created orks to protect the gates of the underground. It's often said that orks are just elves who got cursed or disowned by Erekmier because they committed something heinous, and Olysseus hates Erekmier, so he gladly adopts his castaways to piss him off.
Every "main" species have their appointed leaders, and of course, sometimes these species often go to war. Especially the Solars. They just love war and carnage. Most often, they try to beat up the Lunars because the Lunars actually take care of their land and nature and have enough food to live comfortably.
The Solars have Darius (beefy, tanned dude with bright green eyes and raven black hair) and the Lunars have Reiner (also a beefy guy, but with blond hair and golden eyes), and they've been enemies since they were teenagers for centuries now - lycans in this world are also immortals, unless they get fatally wounded. They look as young or old as they feel, and scars work just the same - if you're a lycan and you have a scar that reminds you of a traumatic event you can't get over, that scar won't fade away until you manage to get over it.
And these unhealed scars and the sexual tension let Darius and Reiner know they're totally into each other, but they have to pretend they're totally not because they can't let their nations and gods down.
But once Darius realizes that the Solar government is a fraud, he escapes to Reiner where the two of them decide to beat the Solars into submission.
Later, Reiner finds a human girl, Lucy Harlow who is a bit more talented than usual with manipulating fire and she's also a very good horse rider (iykyk) - magic is pretty common among the immortal species, but human bodies often can't handle the energy shifts. Lucy's weakness is /creating/ the fire out of thin air, it weakens her. Luckily for her, Darius is the opposite - he can easily create fire, but cannot bend it + Darius has a shitton of battle experience and he can train her.
(Tw: miscarriage) Long story short, several battles later, she becomes famous and Reiner and Darius get into a poly relationship with her. They have many babies, but only one girl, and they were expecting the second girly when a Solar tries to assassinate two of their sons, and Lucy has to fight the bastard for her babies. The only problem was that this fight happened on Gaia's Holy Ivory Island, where no one was allowed to shed blood or kill anybody. As Lucy was the one who killed in the end, she was called in front of the Gods (while her body was laying unconscious in front of her husbands and children).
She figures out that her biological mother is the Goddess of Volcanoes and Lava and she's been missing for many years now because a God wasn't allowed to mate with a human. Lucy's existence angers Gaia, and now Lucy also disrespected the Goddess with killing on her holy land. Gaia tells Lucy that her whole bloodline is a mistake and one of Lucy's ancestors will kill them all if Lucy doesn't kill them herself. Of course, Lucy will not do it and Gaia immediately punishes her with taking her unborn babygirl.
As the years pass, Lucy realises the Gods are out to kill her children, so she takes it upon herself to raise an army that could defy the divine. She goes to unseen, snowwy lands where the last dragon eggs are hidden. She creates a magic egg that allows gay species to have children (esp good for Hrothgars). She learns how to tame fire without moving a muscle, so she can still use physical weapons too. As she raises her dragon, she won't even need Darius anymore because the dragon is more effective in creating fire.
She takes it upon herself to destroy an entire city of criminals with her fire, because that's the only thing that makes the Solars swore to her - she becomes almost villainous by the time Darius' long lost daughter (from another mother) assassinates her.
And that's when Lucy's grandson, Werner reveals that he's a Shadow Master, and he's so much worse than Lucy was. Werner despises humans and gods. He kills anyone and anything that's in his way, and Lucy's remaining family is terrified that Werner will bring an eternal Eclipse on the World, and they have to choose if they use Lucy's army to defeat Werner or to defeat the Divine.
Babe your great mind ! I am impressed with all the story you have organized so far. The world building is incredibly detailed! <3 the goddess dynamic you have created and the races seems very interesting to me. Are you working on this already? Like a book or something ? Because it sounds very interesting and you seem to have everything so in order that I hope you don't let this idea die, because you have a lot of work to do and I'd be among your readers

Angel ( @the-very-nerdy-nerd ) has been subjected to many a infodump of mine, so may as well keep it consistent
The topic: the similarities and evolution of mythology into modern day religions… I might get sidetracked but here goes.
(I’m only speaking on the basis of Abrahimic religions on this part, as they’re the ones I have looked into the most. Feel free to add onto this or fact check me, most of this is running off of memory.)
Almost, if not all, mythologies have some sort of creation story. Norse has Odin using a giants body to create earth, Greek has Chaos and the goddess of Creation making the earth, and Egyptian has Amun-Ra who created Shu and Tefnut and all three created the chaos of the universe, crying humans into existence and then making earth for said humans to reside on. I think the reason for these explanations of events was because they (to put it simply, because this is a whole other ramble for another time) were curious and the stories helped to satiate that. Humans instinctively want to understand, to learn, so there were probably always these sorts of stories.
The main thing all of these have in common is that there was some form of chaos before there was Earth, whether it is called such or not. However, in Christianity, God existed before anything as He created everything, making the Earth before anything else. If it weren’t for the fact that God is supposedly all-good (again, another rant for another time, contradictions are fun), one could look at all the evidence and claim that God Himself is the chaos that underpinned the creation of the universe according to Christianity, but as chaos is all-encompassing (both good and evil, and not consistently one or the other), I’m reluctant to think that that fits right.
Another similarity between the mythologies I’m most familiar with is that they all have some form of hierarchy even between the deities, with some seen as the rulers over the rest. Odin and Frigg, Zeus and Hera, and Amun-Ra. This plays a key point in the dynamics for how the entirety of their respective mythologies play out, and they also seem to represent the key values that were feared and respected for their regions.
Odin was known as the All-Father, he was a god of tricksters and sacrificed his eye in order to get more knowledge. Frigg was known as the All-Mother, and was a fertility goddess. The main things they, as a pair, represent are: wisdom, family, growth.
Zeus was known as the last born of his siblings, and the only one to avoid being eaten by their father, freeing his siblings and ruling Olympus as its king, he was the god of lightning and storms. Hera was known as the goddess of oaths, and marriage, being married to Zeus herself, she was ruthless to those who broke their oaths, and the offspring that tended to come from Zeus breaking his oath to her. The main things these two represent are: the power of a warrior, and the importance of oaths.
Amun-Ra has the characteristics of a solar, creation and fertility god, all of which held extremely high value in Egyptian society. (Is it obvious that I don’t know this mythos in as much detail?)
But God is the only god of His religion, although the angels, saints and Jesus get prayers too. He can’t be disobeyed by the angels as only humans have free will, so that cuts out the ‘ruling over them’ part, as He wouldn’t have much to rule over if not for the humans. He is accredited as the all-powerful God, however an archangel that defected and led a rebellion against Him was able to taint the first humans, and He didn’t stop it, so how all-powerful can He really be?

Sundum.
So there's this world, Sundum.
Here's the run-through:
Everything began with the Will - a power alongside Destiny that willed the world into existence. At first it was but a realm of forests and beasts. There were born the first gods, nature spirits of the Forest, Beasts, and Sea.
Through Will, Destiny was shaped - the coming of gods was all predicted and written to be. First came the Elven gods, eleven in count. They were of Summer (Sovë), Autumn (Suksu), Winter (Tylve), Spring (Kavyt), Fire (Tole), Water (Nasta), Air (Veëmy), Earth (Myy), Yin (Vylestos), Yang (Pemanti) and Balance (Syldi).
Settling in the northern regions of the continent, they evenly ruled the lands. Through their unity, the elves were created, and every god played their part in the first Creation.
Elves were unable to procreate, as they inherited their gods' immortality and endless youth. They were able to create new elves, though, through a ritual held between two elves of opposite sexes and a priest, symbolizing Yin, Yang, and Balance, at the central location of their sacred grounds - the Lake of Creation. They had an afterlife they departed to, which must be deserved. Elves, despite their immortality, didn't fear death for their souls were unshattering and immortal, and when judged by their gods, could be let into the elven Heaven within the skies above the elven mountains, or to be buried beneath them in the worse case.
The Will soon gave way to the Human gods, Negeuz and Nenganfa, the First Father and First Mother, who procreated the First Son, Nernte, and First Daughter, Neneid.
Negeuz ordered his son to kill the elven god of summer, for it he knew north would be too powerful against his family. Himself, he stole the elven Grace from their god of Yin and implanted it in himself and sharing it with his family. Thus began the line of demigods who had the Grace in them, humans with an ever-young face and way more powerful magic than anyone else's.
With the elven god of Summer dead, the North became a cold place, only kept alive by the goddess of Spring who had to marry the god of Fire as his second wife (after Earth) to keep the elven kin safe and alive. (The entire elven nation generally takes inspiration from Finland, as the elves' land is volcanic and cold in nature.)
Each elven god had a Grace, and Yin having none now turned a very twisted situation: The Good, male, light aspect of their pantheon became corrupted and weakened. An option was so all gods shared their Grace with him, weakening the entire pantheon by one eleventh of their general power. This indeed became the case, but this decision took a long time to take.
The Dwarven god - Rungunok - became the First King, ruling over the dwarven kin. After some time though, his existence threatened Negeuz, and he was killed by the human god, making Negeuz the First Emperor.
Negeuz was one patriarchal son of a bitch so his son, with huge daddy issues, slayed him, taking the whole Grace to himself, and ruling as the Second Emperor. Dwarves were long gone and living as nomads, waiting for their god to reincarnate, "wake up", so his Will would build the dwarven kingdom again.
Nenganfa - the mother of the First Son and Daughter and Negeuz's wife, withered from mourning her husband, despite not being treated well by him. She was sealed with him in the First Tomb, which was once the dwarven king's hall.
The wild gods of the Forest, Beasts and Sea were not influenced by the Great Will for they were not in its plan. All three spread chaos, trying to take what was theirs. From the will of the Wild Gods, lycanthropy, ailourothropy (same as werewolves but instead were-sabertooths), minotaurs, satyrs, mermaids, dryads and many other beast folk were born to protect the forests, seas, rivers, lakes and peaks from humans.
Nernte, showing himself to be a faulty leader, let his father's empire shatter, and his blood children were so numerous the throne was to be disputed for centuries.
Neneid at the time took interest in witchcraft, and her children - Riegam and Exeheid (son and daughter) continued her legacy. She gave up all her Grace to them, a part of her living in both.
Riegam built the Bibleoteca - a great library city where the magic of the Words was studied. Mages learnt there, as the demigod's human apprentices mastered many arts and discovered many truths in the ways of physics, anatomy, and astronomy. He was the First Mage.
Exeheid, on the other hand, spent her time in the wild, running with the beasts and soon understanding the will of the Wild Gods. She became the First Witch, giving humans a way into the wilderness and creating reincarnation for their souls, as before all humans' souls dissolved to become a genius loci, depending on the Determination (measurement of Will) of each given human.
Exeheid's reincarnation provided them way to become Forestfolk/Beastfolk (synonyms), and connect to the primal parts of their souls.
Elves at the time, being created by their gods and themselves, started allied cults to their gods, studying the Elements (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) and thus Alchemy, practicing Craft through the Seasons and discussing Philosophy in the temples of Yin, Yang, and Balance.
Inevitably, Half-elves were born through artificial birth due to the incompatibility of their parents' natures. On the side note, the way Dwarves reproduced was unknown, but some mages speculated it is through Mystery.
Due to corruption and aging, Nernte became withered and lost his Grace, instead turning to other ways of keeping himself alive. Some mages, willing to win themselves a spot in the halls of the demigod, went on to help him. His Grace was lost, but they gave him Determination. Immortal and withered, he sits on his bone throne, eyes filled with fire, defying death.
Soon, unexpected, Dwarves somehow outwilled the Great Will itself, becoming free of its plan, and becoming incredibly secretive to a point of becoming myth. Their Mystery allowed them to master both Birth and Creation, as soon, from their dungeons, monsters began to spread. Chimera and other monstrous creatures sent havoc all across the continent.
As turns out, Dwarves weren't the only ones to have Mystery. Gods from outside the continent were also spreading their influence via the same magic.
So was Tog, a god from the south. Brother to Desh, they had no one to rule over, but to them came many. Tog promised afterlife, Desh - immortality. Beastfolk, humans, elves, and primarily half-elves came to both into the desert sands of the south, where there was no Winter.
Tog and Desh were dual, and very well-allied at that. Tog ruled the monsoons and Desh had the droughts. Tog's influence turned his followers into Angels upon death, and Desh shaped his followers into immortal, fiery Demons. But so it happened that some of them inevitably went astray. Two particular ones were demigods of Nernte's blood, Lefeut the Archdemon and Lenge the Archangel.
Their demigod blood and Grace gave them great determination as they returned to the middle lands of the continent to spread their influence. Lefeut did not associate with Desh, for which he was cursed, and Lenge was but a devoted servant of Tog, spreading his faith as a way for the people of the shattered human empire.
The rulership of Nernte was disputed for many critics called him Lich (in which they were right), as his servants indeed practiced necromancy. This didn't give him support of the people, so the shattered empire was now but a great lot of kingdoms. Eventually, the human pantheon ended up having nine figures in it: the First Father and Emperor, the First Mother, the First Son and Second/Undying Emperor, the First Daughter, the First Witch, the First Mage, the Archangel, the Archdemon, and lastly the Great Will.
Dwarves at the time had a plan on using their Science (part of their mystery, steampunk/clockpunk) to create a body for Rungunok to inhabit and rule as an Eternal First King.

*clears throat* Ahem... Behold my premise for Sparda.
I have started on Character bios and first I want to start off with the whole summary with Sparda's Anthology.
It's all my headcanon.
None of what I'm going to write is Canon and is all subjective because it's my version of what happened within my own special Devil May Cry Universe/Headcanon. It is based on actual Canon, but I wanted to expand the lore a bit.
Tumblr media
Let's start with Sparda himself.
Yes, I had to use AI to create this image and it's as close as I can get to what Sparda looks like in the family portrait. This is him sometime during the middle ages (though possibly could be right before his Rebellion) as he is still young (by Demon standards anyway).
I will be doing his story from the point of view of different Characters and as we get closer to modern times, it will become his own words up until he is never seen again in the Human World.
First off, he is kin to Mundus. All demons come from somewhere. They are either created by a powerful entity or they are born/hatched depending on demon types. We know Sparda was a Demon lord. He was under the command of Mundus, who was King of the Demon Realm at the time of the Rebellion.
I absolutely believe most of the hate Mundus has for Sparda and his sons comes from the fact that they are kin. Not only does Sparda betray Mundus as a subordinate, but as a brother. No, they are not twins.
Sparda was born to Lilith, the Empress and Mother of Demons. She created her armies with Mundus as a King beneath her. Sparda is her true born son along with his brother Arctarus (I'll be getting to him shortly). There are a few other Demons Lilith birthed herself, but these two were the first and strongest of her offspring.
Mundus, Argosax, and several other Demon kings were meant to rule specific areas of the Demon Realm until Lilith was sealed away, then there was a war between the kings for the entire rule of the Underworld.
Sparda supported Mundus' endeavor. Arctarus is basically a Mommas boy and fluffed off with Lilith when she was sealed away.
Tumblr media
Arctarus - The Golden Boy and Lilith's most faithful child.
He is Sparda's younger twin brother. He is well... the complete opposite of Sparda. Where Sparda is independent, Arctarus clings to his mother. He is also a big complainer when it comes to not getting enough attention for his prowess. He and Sparda are about as equal in power as they can get, the only difference is the amount of Hubris between the two of them. He is easily provoked with jealousy and hates that Sparda has the ear of Mundus.
It all goes head to head when all of the Triple Goddesses see Lilith as a threat and Sparda is glad to see her go.
Arctarus can't stand that his brothers (this includes Mundus, who actually set this all up) traitorous Rebellion against Lilith and decides to be sealed away with her. Don't worry, this isn't the last we'll see of him.
Now we will get to Lilith herself...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lilith - Empress and Mother of Demons
Who has many forms, including a human one.
At one point, Lilith ruled over Babylon. It was her seat in the Human world, and she also destroyed it, even taking part of it down into the Demon Realm with her.
Before Babylon, she ruled the Demon Realm entirely by herself with her consort, Erubus (Darkness himself). Her seat in the Underworld is the City of Dis (the same one in Dante's Inferno... not the game, the book) before she was sealed away in it with her armies and three of her trueborn sons.
The reason she was sealed away is because she wanted to rule both worlds with the intent of forcing Humans into slavery while her children had free reign. Lower class demons would also be considered slaves or soldiers. Her plans also kept the Kings under her rule as her servants. She wanted to dominate and no one could really stop her except for the Triple Goddesses (there are twelve of them) who were able to seal Lilith away with help from the Demon Kings themselves. It all backfired on the Kings in the end, but they were looking out for themselves. Then Mundus got the idea to try and practically do the same damn thing. 🙄
Lilith will be appearing in later stories, but not so much in Sparda's anthology.
But this is basically a synopsis of what happened before Sparda's story begins.
And it's all my headcanon. I've been working on this for a long time.
