Danver’s specific brand of racism is so intrenched in love it’s fascinating. Her daughter is precious to her and her daughter is Indigenous and in this town, an Indigenous woman is not viewed as a precious thing. They are abused and raped and murdered and therefore, being white is the ‘better’ choice. She is actively whitewashing her daughter, not only because she’s afraid of what she doesn’t understand and because of typical coloniser mentality, but because she doesn’t want to lose her. Danvers can’t distance Indigenous identity from white violence and it’s killing what she loves.

Hello!! Question about clone^2, what are the styles of Danny and Damian? Like day to day stuff for example. Does Danny buy Damian the traditional 8 yr old clothes (dinosaurs with sunglasses tees, stuff like that) or does Damian already have a style he likes? And Danny! I know that Sam gives Danny various punk hairstyles and that he prefers gender neutral stuff but outside of that what would Danny wear in general?
You don’t have to answer of course, but I’ll give you a thank you in advance!
- kindest regards, Gas Can
I LOVE GETTING ASKS NO WORRIES MY GUY. AS MY FAVORITE SAYING GOES 'THE QUICKEST WAY TO STARRY'S HEART IS THROUGH HER ASK BOX'.
And I love this question, this is a good one!! If damian's 8 then he's been around the fenton house for about a year or so. I can't see baby dames ever willingly wearing traditional child-like clothes, at least not in the beginning when he first arrives at the Fenton house. Which he'd be around 6-7.
Danny tells him (with the help of google translate) that he's going shopping to buy him new clothes sometime during Damian's early stay since the little man had been wearing the same clothes he arrived in for a while (which you can find here with the reblog of the colored version) and honestly he probably asks damian if he wants to come along to pick something out. he doesn't know the kid's style and it might be a bad idea because damian might make a run for it, but danny's caught him before at this point.
(plus he'll need help carrying bags - his hands are freshly injured and still smarting. they're not as bad as they will be in the future, but hand injuries hurt. consider it repayment for being the cause of it, damian)
And early Damian would choose clothes that remind him most of the league - so dark colors, more formal styles, think like how you'd imagine his original template to dress like, if you will. Danny is side-eyeing him in judgy bewilderment, but says nothing other than to complain about the price tag. Of which Damian has no idea what he's saying. He'd stick with those clothes until he has his little moment with Danny in the OPS Center where he finally tells him he's a clone (even though Danny already knows) and that he doesn't want to go back. After that he'd reluctantly and steadily start branching out.
So eight year old Damian, whose begun to chill out more and act more like a child his age would? I don't think he'd ever wear graphic t-shirts about kids shows, but I can see him wearing graphic tees of like, animal facts on it, animals, stars, etc etc, and then plain shirts in a variety of increasing color. I have this mental image that Danny buys Damian one of those joke shirts that says "bro I'm 8" / "this is what an awesome eight year old looks like" (with two thumbs pointing at itself) and Damian wears it to school a week later. Damian's variety of shirts increases the more comfortable he gets and the more he comes into his own identity.
Damian also, steadily, keeps stealing Danny's flannels even if they're almost comically large on him. They're comfy and he's embracing his role as baby brother (and also he really looks up to him because he understands, to an extent, of what danny's done for him). Danny and the Fentons start buying Damian his own after a while because, well, he can't keep taking Danny's.
And Danny! I'm so glad you mentioned Danny, my favorite GNC boy. I keep forgetting myself sometimes that I gave him long hair, even if it is my favorite thing about him. And honestly? Danny doesn't really do much with his hair if Sam isn't styling it. He usually lets it stay down on his head, and then pulls it back into a ponytail or a half-ponytail at school depending on what he's doing (gym vs a test).
He keeps it in a ponytail as phantom to keep it out of his face, and then when he's working on a Ghost Case he sometimes has it up in a (messy™) bun because the feeling of having his hair on his neck when its in a ponytail drives him nuts, especially when sleep deprived. Sam teaches him how to braid it back into a simple braid and its become a new fidget for him to braid his hair and then unbraid it. It's easier to keep off his face than a ponytail, so he sometimes braids it back when he's sneaking out as phantom. It happens more often once he gets skilled at it.
And danny's style! I know you probably only meant his hairstyle, but I also wanna talk about his aesthetic! He doesn't really put much into his appearance. Very teenager-y boy 'threw on the first thing i saw on a hanger/floor' type, but he kinda has a bit more of a casual, soft grungy-like look as an older teen. Just some hints of Sam's influence - and you know what, some of Tucker's as well because that's his best friend too.
(Off topic but 19yo Danny from my Childhood Friends Dead On Main au has a similar style that's a bit soft punk as well, and that is somewhat more intentional on CFAU Danny's part. Why make an au if I can't play dress up with my favorite character? :))
Mostly because I read a Spider-Man x DP fic that described Danny (from an outsider's pov) as looking kinda like a skater boy who listens to alt rock music and it's been my personal interpretation of him ever since. So he has band tees, flannels, graphic tees with jokes on them, shirts with astronomy facts on them, and idk if he'd ever buy ripped jeans but Sam has certainly bought him some and they fit so *shrugs* he wears them. And he has one or two of those denim jackets with the hoodie sewn inside it. And from Tucker he has a few turtlenecks because Tucker reads as a turtleneck-kinda guy, geek chic-ish.
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#clone^2#danny fenton is a clone#danny fenton is not the ghost king#damian wayne has a clone#the quickest way to starry's heart is through her ask box#its not a starry post unless its long#srsly tho i love getting asks even if i haven't answered them. so anyone who sends me an ask: i see them!! i love them!!! if i havent-#answered it its because I can't think of anything *to* say to it that i think would make a fulfilling ask. but i see it and i love it#unmentioned in the post but danny also has a few black croptops of the rave-variety from when he needs to pull what he likes to call a#'brucie wayne moment' and its my favorite part of the clone danny au bc youre gonna look me in the eye and say that there's a-#non-malicious TEENAGE bruce wayne clone running around and he DOESNT have a brucie wayne impression? brucie wayne is a#walking meme in of himself. absolutely a teenage clone of him would pretend to be him sometimes even if its a joke. he wouldnt get away wit#being bruce wayne considering the 30 year age gap BUT acting like him? he can do that AND make someone (or a dozen) swoon at the same time#danny has his identity crisis issues but that doesnt mean he can't have FUN with it. he shares a face with the biggest himbo alive yes he#will use that to his advantage when he's aware of it.#gas can anon#i love that signoff btw#brucie wayne is half the reason i made the clone danny au for a reason - the pure shenanigans of having his face#could potentially cause#like yeah he’s batman’s clone blah blah blah but BRUCIE WAYNE. THE BIMBO HIMSELF

Amity Park is an unusual place. Home to the ghost crazed inventors Jack and Maddie Fenton and their two children, Jasmine and Daniel Fenton.
It is a peaceful town, if only when the Fenton's aren't up to their shenanigans, besides that it was a town were nothing to significant happened.
Which is why it was so weird how the town was built right next to a magical leyline.
(His parents are actually weirdly connected now that he thinks of it.)
Now you see, Danny never cared about his parents' obsession with ghosts, nor their apparent 'portal to hell' that's a work in progress.
(Danny is 12 here AGAIN because I'm just built like that)
He did like to invent small versions of the Chaos Emeralds from the sonic comics he asked his parents for. He was honestly completely surprised they managed to get him actual real-life copies of the comics, considering they ceased productions years before he was born.
He isn't even going to ask any questions about the where and how.
So, he read through the books, told his two friends about it and they came over then they read together. Sam was a bit surprised, since even her parents didn't know where to source them from.
So, you give a twelve-year-old access to discontinued comics about a hedgehog who can run faster than the speed of soun and he sees these super powerful gems and has access to highly advanced tech made his parents (mostly ghost centered but eh) and you expect him not to do anything?
So, he, Tucker and Sam came together and sketched out a design for what they wanted this machine to look like to (hopefully) make their own versions of the Chaos Emeralds.
It wouldn't be the real thing, but they just want something close enough that they can look at.
So, they drew the machine, trying to see which parts would be needed in the actual building part of it. To which they kinda grew to a stump at, Tucker is insanely good with computers, Danny is insanely good at building things and Sam has extensive knowledge of the occult and money.
But they weren't good with the actual designing part. The drawing was pretty crude, not as good as his parents' blueprints, but it was good enough. They just couldn't figure out what materials would go where and which they would even need.
Then his parents caught a glance at what they were working on and extended their help, surprising all three of them since this wasn't anything ghost related. With their help the actual parts for the machine came together, and sure the design had to be changed a bit here and there, but it was worth it!
They didn't know where exactly to build said machine though. Until Sam mentioned the nearby forest, and really, it just went on from there.
So there they were, walking through the forest, looking for the perfect spot to build their machine. Finally coming to at a small hill, Danny decided to build the machine here!
It was the perfect spot for a replica of a super powerful, mega awesome giant emerald!
The spot did however feel really weird, like there was something living in the area. Not that Danny minded though, he wouldn't be a Fenton if he didn't ignore something crazy like this!
Sam was honestly just there for the vibe to be honest.
Tucker was persuaded to be here with the newest PDA that came out and practically unlimited data (He was going to be there anyways but who could pass up that.)
So it took a while, having to carry the materials out there (or carrying them in a cart, for the bigger pieces) and then having Danny putting it all together with his friends handing him some pieces here and there, and then Sam and Tucker having to goddamn drag Danny away from the unfinished machine to take a break and play a game.
Most of the time, Sam would distract herself with reading some occult books, while Tucker would surf the internet while Danny built his machine.
After about a week Danny finally managed to bring the machine to life, a giant mold in the middle of it in the shape of the Master Emerald when it came together and 21 smaller molds.
Coincidently, that was also the time his parents finished their 'portal to hell'.
So, Danny closed the machine, pouring the resin for the master emerald into the machine while his friend poured in resin of different colors into the other molds.
White for Danny.
Black for Sam.
Red for Tucker.
And green for the Master Emerald.
After that, well. All that was left was to turn it on, so they did.
At the exact moment the Fenton's turned on their ghost portal.
The magical energies of the leyline flooded into the molds of the gems, it was extremely chaotic and unfocused, its magical energies unable to be controlled.
For there to then be what is basically the perfect vessels for its excess power?
Well, safe to say it took the opportunity as it was.
At the exact same time Ectoplasm flooded into the world from the portal, and the door to the other side was opened.
The world, tilted off the combined events of the portal opening and the leyline finding a vessel for its power.
Shifted.
Then it and another world became one, a relatively smooth transition as barely anyone noticed.
Barely.
But that isn't what we're going to focus on right now. ;)
The entirety of Amity Park experienced city-wide electronic mayhem. Basic household appliances started going wack, as did their phones or anything electronic. Then the power went out as an earthquake ran through the city.
It stopped as suddenly as it began, everything was normal. So the Amity parkers went on about their day as normal too.
Danny, Sam and Tucker were knocked unconscious by the event, to which they then awoke about an hour later and saw the sight of their machine broken beyond repair. Danny ran forward and cried over the loss of his hard work, then Sam and Tucker got him to look up a bit higher to see it.
The Master Emerald in all of its beautiful, rainbow glory, and floating around was 21 gems made alongside it.
At first, Danny was stunned, unable to figure out how the hell the gem replicas are floating when they were made to be just that, replicas and not anything else.
They then floated down to each of them, the reds circling Tucker, the blacks circling Sam and the whites circling Danny.
And Danny, being 12 years old forgot all about that and went fuck it.
They stayed there for a while, playing with their new gems. They tried to be responsible, they swear! But they just couldn't help but test what they could do...
They found out that, while they aren't as powerful as the originals in the comics. They were still pretty damn strong, so then Sam had the great idea to train themselves in the usage of the gems like responsible people would.
(Which is basically just an excuse to run over to her books and try out each and every spell she could see.)
Which is how they also found out that the Master Emerald replica also had the ability to render their own gems inert like in the comics after they went a bit overboard with them.
Then they came back home and apparently ghosts are a thing now. They politely kept their new gems and the existence of the giant one a secret.
And like that, two years passed by. All of them now 14 and having very good control over the gems, with the help of the Master Emerald that somehow became semi-sentient and finding out that the reason why it happened is because they literally built the machine on top of a magical leyline.
They took on the role of guarding the gem, just like Knuckles the Echidna. Which also doubles as their hangout spot too, so there's that.
They had super-secret personas and totally cool outfits for when they're guarding it too. Which isn't really necessary since nothing happens, but they don't really care about that too be honest.
Amity Park is a relatively closed off town, new faces only being there in the ways of tourists. It is a peaceful town, minus all the ghosts and the Fenton's in their battles, it is a nice town where nothing too big happens.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker thought so as well. Thought that nobody would find out about their little secret.
They were not pleased when they found some old British guy was walking around the Master Emerald.
The Fenton parents were very pleased when three of earth's greatest heroes, batguy, supersomething and Wondergirl pulled up at their doorstep asking to see their inventions. (They swear they could never quite remember those three's names, what with all the ghost fighting, realizing they weren't quite right in their research and renouncing everything they ever said about ghosts as a whole while also trying to reconnect with their kids after realizing how neglectful they've been over the years.)

I think what might have been better (for me) would be if they hadn't skipped ahead quite so far in the last scene and instead Alison and Mike were returning only a few years later with Mia. Still the "usual room" and still all the old decor kept around the building, but Alison walks into the room holding Mia's hand and "introduces" her to the ghosts, the idea being that she's old enough now even if she can't see them to know they're there, to know that Alison not only gives the ghosts that allowance in her life on her own terms but also perhaps that she can tell Mia stories about the funny dead people who became her family

Had a weird Hollow Knight-related dream a couple days ago, so I decided to draw a major scene I remembered from it dgsgshf
More context will be in the tags, for those interested!
#hollow knight#little ghost#hk ghost#the knight#hk hornet#hornet#alright. as of writing these tags it's been a week since the original dream so! let's see what i remember dgsgsgf#i was playing a game. which was a sequel to hollow knight ((Not silksong though))#there was some new sort of divine infection in hallownest and hornet had asked ghost to investigate it. they ended the last one after all!#the red glowy spike gate thingy is what you jumped into to enter the 'infected' areas#though it actually led directly to a hub world type of place. which was kinda like an expanded base for the grimm troupe?#more like an entire lair instead of a camp. also some greek gods were there for some reason lmao. they had their own special rooms too#so sidenote but- new headcanon that there are grimm troupe members named ares athena artemis &... venus lmao. not aphrodite for some reason#also monomon was there?? i think??? except she was cooking????? she had a sidequest to deliver something to someone though i dunno hdgfhdgh#i remember going back to the grimm troupe lair a couple times throughout my 'playthrough'#anyway. the 'infection' this time around was more of a glitchy physical corruption thing? rather than a mind corruption.#though there were still aggressive enemies to fight. but i remember getting a map from cornifer early on and he was. probably infected#i think part of his body was covered in electricity or something? so he wasn't fully visible? but he was still acting normally#there was also a moth who was the seer but then later wasn't the seer (but was still the same moth) dghgdhf. i delivered stuff to her#that glowing white wall thing in the drawing was like a one-way gate. you could only cross it from the other side and ghost came from there#i guess things looped back up somehow i dunno ghdgfhgf#anyway. ghost's red eyes. those are significant! those happened while i was walking through a corridor. it had pools of shallow water#(shallow enough to just walk through) and also creatures that were lightseeds but red.the implication was that they were full of Blood lmao#and as i went along killing them--as one does--as i walked through the hall. they started turning the water red too#there was also narration about this as it was happening ashdgsf. specifically the narrator said the water turned red before it actually did#ghost's eyes slowly turned red too. but aside from that they were fine! since. they're the player character and the player is perfectly fin#BUT. when they encountered hornet again. she thought they were infected. and that she lost the only family she had left </3#she didn't attack though. instead she just jumped into the red spike gate without a word. decided to try to fix everything herself#but eventually you'd encounter her again down below and she'd fight you. didn't actually get to that in the dream though#aand i'm out of tags </3 i wanted to talk about what i'd do to make this make more sense as an au or something now that i'm awake but. :c

I rewatched “The Richest Duck in the World!” and noticed something new. It’s only a theory, but it could easily be true, and… oh my God.
Bradford Buzzard has been working with Scrooge for about two decades or more by this episode, right? He's the CEO of McDuck Enterprises. He can overule Scrooge on business decisions and has access to and knowledge of everything, including Falcon Island, the portion of money afforded to it and that it's used for magical defence. Scrooge took the time to remove that island from all maps because he was so desperate for nobody to ever be able to meddle there. This is as top-secret as it gets. But Bradford knows. Scrooge trusts him implicitly with ALL his money. That's a lot of trust!
So Bradford almost certainly knows about the Bombie. It's hard to imagine a conversation where Scrooge told him about Falcon Island and what resources it needed without telling him why it needed them; and never before this episode has the Bombie been released due to financial strain. Not even in Scrooge and his finances' lowest point, when he was blowing through savings to search for Della, resorting to draining the Money Bin, his personal store of sentimentally valuable coins. Not even with Bradford wanting more of McDuck Enterprises' money available so he can siphon it off for FOWL. There was always, always something less important than Falcon Island.
But then Louie - an inexperienced, physically weak and unskilled eleven-year-old - becomes the richest person on Earth. On his very first morning in this position, he has to compensate for his wasteful spending by taking money from the company and Bradford immediately suggests cutting funding to the Bombie's containment measures. That is the first thing he comes up with. And he agrees to it unhesitatingly without a word of warning. This is why the entire plot of the episode happens!
Even more dammingly, he has a button specifically to deactivate the magical security system on hand at that moment. Without it, the Bombie escapes in an instant. But how did such a button come to exist in the first place? Scrooge would never have asked for it. Nobody else knew anything about Falcon Island. Bradford must have made it and connected it to that magic himself. He saw that Louie was vulnerable and wasted no time engineering his fall, unleashing a lethal threat upon him that was, as far as anyone knew, absolutely unstoppable, yet in a manner indirect enough to deflect suspicion from him.
Bradford tried to murder Louie.

Been reading those comics where the FNaF 1 animatronics show up in the Plex and it just occurred to me...
If Roxy struggles to see and process things that are possessed (such as Tangle), and can see bodies through the floor... Does that mean the FNaF 1 animatronics would look like zombies to her? Would she be unable to properly process the animatronic and only reliably be able to see the child's body inside?
They introduce Roxy to the FNaF 1 animatronics that showed up out of nowhere and she's fucking screaming at them to tell her they're realistic fakes right the fuck now. Maybe she can see where they were attacked and immediately tries to take them to a first aid station, much to everyone's confusion. She doesn't know what to do, her friends just rolled up with animated children's corpses and she's scared, okay? What the fuck is going on?!

Maybe Add a Little Salt
[Today, you get some angsty Brother Elijah lore, via someone left unknown until now. Discussions of grief, mentions of death of a parent, and hinted neglect. Not suitable for younger audiences.] Below the cut.
How do you make grief digestable?
In what way must you spin a tale of loss so that others don't shy away from it, out of pity or digust?
Do you break it into pieces like stale bread?
Let it crumble into each thought and feeling like you're dragging it through the thick, complicated stew that is life?
Only feeding it to people when you know they can handle it, hoping that they won't spit it back in your face when you're at your most vulnerable?
To admit to grief, is to put a new spice in the broth and hope someone doesn't complain about the taste.
Do you compare it to a meal? To food?
Taking the metaphor further, dragging it out in hopes that it will not be misconstrued?
To Ethan, grief is an inedible thing.
There is no stale bread to be softened for consumption.
It is something he has to choke down, for fear that someone might see his discomfort and judge him for it.
Grief is not something to swallowed.
But nevertheless; It sits in his throat.
Leaving his stomach empty.
And his heart full of worries.
Ethan has never believed in God, even as a child, he was dubious.
Still, he attended church on Sundays, sat between his mother and his grandmother while his father took his older siblings out to breakfast.
When they'd get home, he wouldn't eat until lunch.
And he would sit quietly, play with his toys, and try not to get in the way.
Sometimes, his grandmother would invite him to her house, and she would make him cold cheese sandwiches, cut into animal shapes using cookie cutters, and make little marshmallow bunnies for him to eat.
On her good days, his mother would join them.
She'd sit with his grandmother and him in a peaceful silence around the small table in her kitchen.
Just the three of them.
Cozy and warm.
And he'd feel full.
Then they'd go home.
It was always hard, leaving his grandmother's house.
Coming back to their own.
The clutter, the mess.
It only ever seemed to get worse the sicker his mother got, and try as he might, Ethan could only do so much.
After all, his hands had been so little then, and he could barely see over the top of the stove.
He thinks about that a lot.
Too much maybe.
The hopelessness of being so small, of wanting to help, but not being able to.
And then...
And then, well, he couldn't help her even if he wanted to.
He remembers her funeral feeling... short, and unceremonious.
He thinks about that a lot, too.
And it brings him back to his thoughts about God.
About how God only seemed to exist inside the walls of the church, and not in the walls of his own home.
About how his mind had supplied so darkly as a child, in response to being told, "You will all be reunited in Heaven some day." that he'd better hurry up and die already.
About how he carried that sentiment with him for years.
And about how he's somehow still hear over a decade later.
So if you asked Ethan about grief, and about God.
He'd probably tell you neither tastes good, but...
"Maybe add a little salt."
.
.
.
Ethan wishes the day he left home, that things had played out like they do in the movies.
A heartfelt goodbye or even a "So, you're really going through with this?" conversation.
But his house is dark, and his family is asleep.
They know he's leaving.
They do not care.
The only acknowledgement he receives is the porchlight turning off the moment he steps foot inside of the car that's going to take him to the airport.
Where is he going?
Honestly, even he's not sure.
He's half certain he's headed towards disaster, towards death.
But he can't bring himself to be particularly frightened.
He'd received a letter.
Snailmail.
Handwritten.
And what he read inside, he couldn't bring himself to believe.
It was had to be some kind of sick prank.
But it was enough motivation to get himself up out of bed in the middle of the night.
Because, really, what did he have to lose?
His life?
Ethan almost regrets it when he gets on the plane.
He's never flown before, and his stomach does little flips the whole way there.
A mix of anxiety and motion sickness that he braves sandwiched between a crying toddler and a middle aged man who keeps giving him a look that says, "I know what you are."
But, nauseous as he is, Ethan can't bring himself to give a damn.
When the plane lands, it takes all of his strength not to collapse onto the ground and kiss it.
He's never fucking flying again.
Not if he can help it.
"Right... Get your shit together."
Ethan isn't sure what an abbey is, beyond a big building for religious people to hang out, but if the letter he received is to be believed, it's where he'll meet someone important there.
Someone that bothered to write a two page letter expressing their desire to meet him.
Sure.
Sure, why not?
Fuck it.
Fuck it, even if it's a joke, some prank or some scam, at least it'll be...
It'll be better than being stuck at home wasting away.
Again, what does he have to lose?
Standing on the stone steps, Ethan briefly considers just... leaving.
He can leave, right?
That's still an option.
But before he can really consider HOW to backtrack after coming this far, a man with a smile that seems far too kind to be genuine appears through one of the large, wooden doors in front of him.
"You must be Ethan." he greets, "I am-"
Ethan cuts him off.
"You're Elijah Crane."
The pair lock eyes.
"...You're my dad."
Elijah sighs softly.
"I am... and I'm sorry."

Danny transformed with a stumble in the alley near the school, not even looking for possible bystanders, and ran as fast as he could. He was just so tired. He’d been up until dawn chasing both Technus and Desiree, along with all the appliances and wish-monsters that had been roaming the city.
He was so, so tired. His eyes ached, and his head felt staticy. He’d woken up late, and really needed to get to class on time, because one more tardy would mean a letter being sent to his parents.
He reached down to pat his pants, making sure he’d remembered to change out of his pajamas. He barely remembered to grab his backpack on the way out of his window. But he kept thinking there was something he was supposed to remember.
Something about today specifically…?
Or maybe he’d just forgotten his pencil. He could just ask Sam for one later.
He blinked, and the feel of closed eyelids felt so wonderful, he had to focus on making his eyes reopen before he could fall asleep on his feet. He saw double for a split-second, before the scenery in front of him lazily drifted back into focus. A large yawn followed, his eyes watering and mouth opening so wide that he was left with narrow, blurry slits of vision.
He slammed face-first into something as hard as a wall.
After a second or two, he started to tip backward. Not understanding what was going on, he just stared at the sky as he landed on his back.
That was when he noticed the laughter.
He could feel his face heating up as he pushed himself to his feet. Dash and a few of the other jocks were pointing his direction as they laughed and continued walking toward the front doors. And, of course, there was also Paulina among the crowd.
The other students walked around him—and right through the glowing green dome that now surrounded the school.
Ah. That was it. This was the day the school was supposed to switch on that new ghost shield his teachers had been talking about for the past week.
The laugher faded as the last of the students entered the school. Then the first bell rang.
He had to get to class!
He desperately pressed his palms against the shield.
He pushed hard against it, a strained whine escaping his clenched teeth. His tennis shoes started to slide, scrapping against the sidewalk beneath him.
He stopped, breathing heavily as he leaned his forehead against the shield, trying to figure out how to get to class.
He glanced at his bare hands, seeing that he was definitely Fenton at the moment, so that wasn't it.
Backing up a few feet, he craned his neck to see that the shield disappeared over the top of the school. He walked a few feet to the left, into the grass, before walking back to the right and doing the same on the other side of the sidewalk.
The front doors of the school opened, and Lancer walked out, and marched toward Danny.
“The Tell-Tale Heart! What are you doing?!”
“Um… Trying to get to class.”
It was kind of obvious, wasn’t it?
“You can explain your reasoning after school, in detention.” Lancer grabbed Danny’s arm and pulled him forward.
Danny again slammed into the ghost shield.
The laughter was back, though not as loud. Danny traced the sound to the school’s second-story windows.
He sighed.
Lancer turned and came back through the shield. He gestured toward Danny's backpack. “What do you have in this?” he asked, taking the backpack and setting it on the sidewalk. He tried pushing Danny through the shield, and again Danny was only pressed up against it.
“Empty your pockets.”
“I don’t have anything!” Danny insisted as he pulled his pockets inside out.
After fifteen more minutes, and Danny removing his shirt, and then his pants, the shield was temporarily taken down for him.
The next morning, Danny kept his head down as he walked toward the front doors with Sam and Tucker.
It took awhile to realize the hushed whispers following him weren't at his expense, but because everyone had come to the conclusion that he was Phantom at some point during the night.
At least the school decided against sending a letter to his parents.

god now i can’t stop thinking about how when the S4 character designs were first released we were all freaking out over how Callum’s mage outfit and behaviour was mirroring Viren, and how Rayla’s new shoulder plate mirrored Runaan’s outfit, and then S4 just decided to crank up the Viren-Callum parallels in the absolute best worst way and how it seems that S5 will do the same for Runaan-Rayla and

so with higher quality photos available and knowing that phantom (new) ghouls horns aren't like mountains, but I know a lot of people have grown fond of the idea:
while getting to meet everyone phantom makes a comment about liking the way mountains horns look and mountain makes little horn caps/tips for him

I just remembered the detail that spiders are drawn to sources, so Lucy's room must be awful since I'm sure she doesn't let Holly clean up there. Now imagining Lucy noticing the spider invasion and worrying that she's accidentally brought another source home, tearing the place apart, and sincerely asking the ghost on her windowsill if he's noticed anything with roughly the same vibe as when SecUnit is waiting for everyone to figure out that it's what set off the weapons detection system.

It's kinda sad what for a grip newmann still has on my brain, i will just be going about my day and go: they wrote letters for 3 YEARS that's 36 months of letters, presumably not short either, also long enough to become a constant in each others life, only to then meet and the reality and difficulty of irl convos crashing in and them disliking eachother, spending 3 years with no contact to then getting assigned to the same shatterdome for 5 years, in which their research department dwindles and dwindles but they stay put, they stay together, probably form the weird kind of friendship you form when you are both scientists at the end of the world and survival depends on your numbers and your analysis, supporting each other in little ways, like reminders to eat and sleep... they still bicker, they still fight, but ultimatly they are still the one stable constant they have in the uncertainty of everything, and even if they don't show it, they care for each other and then the double event happens, they drift with a Kaiju and each other and then the world is saved, everything is layed out in the drift and they can rest, learn to live with each other without the pressure of war because a life without the other has become uninaginable, or so it seems, only for Newt to draw back, not noticable at first, but steadily, until he tells Hermann that he is going to Shao Industries and he leaves... 10 years of sparse contact... 10 years in which Hermann still keeps the picture of himself and Newt close... 10 years in which Newts mind is taken over by the Precursors... and still the one thing that brakes him out, the one thing that breaks the 10 year grip the hive mind has on him, if even just for a second, is seeing Hermann about to die by his own hands and not fighting him and and..... nghhhhhhhhhhdhdhshdhd
