the way s1 of the witcher keeps emphasizing the power of destiny only for geralt to wind up blaming jaskier for it all because he's the one who brought him to the ball, he's the one who broke the djinn's vessel, he's the one who keeps putting geralt in these situations like i don't think jaskier IS destiny so to speak but he's definitely one of its soldiers if nothing else

I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"

Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.

now that i'm actually Watching the witcher i'm beginning to really appreciate yennefer's character and especially the framing of her desire for a child because the first time i tried watching i thought it was your standard "i wish i was a mother i am a woman i have been robbed of the chance of being a mother 😔" but now it's really clear to me this is just another extension of her desire for power, like she doesn't want a child because she wants to nurture something and raise it with love, she wants a child because even with all the power she has it isn't enough and being a mother would give her absolute power over the life of that child

The Venture Bros. Season 4, Episode 14 "Assisted Suicide"

The whole episode makes it feel like jaskier is desperately in love with geralt and is forced to just watch from the sidelines as geralt and yennefer go through their song and dance while hes writing songs about heartbreak and trying so so hard to find a way to express his feelings to geralt while painfully aware that geralt finds him annoying at best like there is a delicacy and desperation to him through this whole thing and when the dwarf bridge breaks and 3 people fall he screams "Geralt!" And even after almost dying last episode he is out of his depth here and feels like hes in real danger on that cliffside and ive lost track of what im trying to say here but its all connected i swear and they have that whole thing with geralt yelling at jaskier at the end and really they both know its the peak of something thats been building for years, that frustration, but it still hurts and only yesterday jask was suggesting they get away from it all just the two of them and how were you not all insane about this when it came out??
