Dracula must be an EXTREMELY fast and clean eater. Unless perhaps he’s taking his meals elsewhere while he eats or he’s tossing leftovers overboard. I mean, are we to assume he’s been completely eating whole men, leaving behind no evidence (not even a little blood, some guts, or a pesky little phalanx) and he’s been able to do it without being seen (despite having had men come searching immediately after hearing the victim’s cry)?

Food on the Demeter gotta be like:
We aren't told specifically when the cook went missing (which is kind of odd - you'd think they'd be very detailed in a log about who went missing each time). But in any case, it ain't gonna be good eating from here on out, Captain

“...as in a moment of fog lifting he saw North Foreland, just as he heard the man cry out. “
I love how subtle this is. Dracula being/controlling the fog. And the fog just happens to let up exactly as the most recent victim cries out. As if Dracula had to manifest himself in person from the fog to make his kill, momentarily clearing the sky.
