i had a thought.
you know those soulmate aus where they can feel each other’s pain?
so doesn’t that extend to period pains/cramps as well?
so when James felt a sudden, constant pain in his abdomen (around that area), he learnt that it was the cause of period pains/cramps and so assumed his soulmate was a girl.
Sirius always talked about having a little sister. but all of a sudden, Sirius started talking about a baby brother, and insists he’s never had a sister.
James never connected the dots. He never once thought that Regulus Black could possibly be his soulmate, even though he wished desperately for it, but wishes were just useless hope.
he’s also constantly felt horrible pains that reduced him to shaking messes, especially during the holidays. and Sirius would come back bruised and beaten.
it was only when Sirius hit his brother with a stinging hex at the leg during one of their fights, that caused James to fall instantly to the floor, did he finally, finally realise.

Raphael x Reader Period Fic
I’m on my period. I’m having cramps. I’m in pain. So I wrote this extremely self indulgent thing on my notes app to make myself feel better.
It had been days since Raphael had last seen or heard of you.
Korilla had no news and you hadn’t shown up in any of the places Raphael usually is, and that got the devil worried.
Not that he carried about you, but when your favorite client goes missing, you start to get curious. What if Raphael needed you for something soon and you weren’t there? It wasn’t a matter of care, it was a matter of business.
At least, that’s what he told himself as he opened a portal to your room.
You were laid on your side in the bed, curled up and back facing him. He didn’t even have to say anything before you groaned “What the hell do you want, Raphael?”
He could hear a slight tinge of pain coming through your voice. “Why, can’t I want to visit my favorite little mouse for the sake of visiting them?”
You rolled your eyes. “Cut the crap, I don’t have time for your theatrics.” You curled up even further, hissing.
Raphael took a step forward, and examined you. There were no signs of injure anywhere, but he could faintly smell blood. He kept thinking of what could be ailing you when he heard a sniffle.
The devil placed a hand on your shoulder, turning your body to face him and saw the tears begin to fall on your face, while your hands clutched your belly.
“My dear, what has happened?” He ask, genuine worry in his voice.
“I’m on that time of the month” you quickly replied. “I’ve already taken a potion for the pain, but the cramps won’t go away.” You shut your eyes, taking a deep breath, but the pain persisted.
In his thousands of years, Raphael knew of the pain some people went through every month. He remembered what Korilla had once mentioned that helped.
Heat.
He quickly transformed into his devil form.
“What the fuck are you doing?” You said.
“Allow me to help you.” He said that and quickly took you in his arms, bridal style. You would have tried to struggle, but the cramps had burned your energy a long time ago.
Suddenly, you were both in his room, in the House of Hope.
Raphael gently laid you on the bed before following suit. He positioned himself behind you, and strong arms held your belly.
The heat that emanated from him was enough to quickly soothe your pain, making you sigh in relief. You pressed yourself even further into his chest, putting your hand over his arms, and whispering a quiet thank you.
He chuckled. “I did say I was your savior, little mouse.”
“Shut up.” You replied playfully. You two stayed in silent and eventually, you were able to sleep.
