Contest Submission Rules
Tumblr media
Jötun Design Party is a Marvel Loki fanmade character design contest, dedicated to encouraging artists to be more aware of racist visual shorthand to make a more inclusive fandom space for artists of color.
Tumblr media
If your submission is found to rely on orientalist or otherwise racist imagery to make Loki seem more alien, more attractive, etc, your design will not be considered/your submission will be disqualified. [#orientalism] is a featured tag on my blog, where I have shared informational posts on the topic. You can also check the [#FAQ] tag on this blog. I also encourage you to do your own research on the topic to ensure the design fits within the guidelines.
No AI generated or AI enhanced art. The design must be completely designed by you, not imags generation.
Your design must be created for the design contest entry. Modifying your old Jötun designs is allowed, but there must be significant changes to the design as to differentiate it from your previous works.
Entries will be judged based on design, not skill.
You are allowed to include designs for multiple characters (ex: Jötun!Thor, Angrboða, Fárbauti, etc.) as well as for multiple versions of Loki (Ikol, Stories, Kid Loki, etc) so long as there is at least one Loki design submitted.
However, as shipping discourse can get incredibly out of hand, please refrain from submitting ship art to the contest.
Your drawing should be a full-body, with a clear view of the design(s), and clear color and lines. Shading/finished lineart is not necessary! The design(s) simply must be visible enough to tell what is going on in order to qualify.
Do not put down other contest members; any and all competition should be friendly.
Informational blurbs about your Jötun headcanons are not only accepted, but encouraged!
Tag @jotun-design-party in your submission, and tag your piece as #jotun design party !
Winner Information
Tumblr media
The first place winner will receive a full-body drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice.
The second place winner will receive a half-body drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice.
The third place winner will receive a bust-shot drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice.

Gonna spitball stupid ideas about God of War since I just finished GOW: Ragnorak.
Putting under a readmore so I don’t kill anyone with a potential huge block of words-
Also spoilers, obviously.
So onto the first-
Who will the next game follow?
Ngl I feel like the obvious answer is that it follows Atreus. He’s going on a journey to find other Giants. It makes sense to follow him.
This game feels like the perfect conclusion to Kratos and his story. Him leading the Nine Realms and fixing the harm done to it (or as much as he, Freya and Mimir can). I think it’d do more harm then good to force him into another game.
Could he cameo in a game solely with Atreus? Maybe? I think a cameo of him would always be a bonus. Whether it’s just dialogue or if him and Atreus find a magical way to communicate long distance.
Actually maybe no magical communication, so then the possible reunion would be so much more sweet. And they better reunite.
Where will the next game take place?
In my heart- Egypt. Egypt was the original idea for the 2018 game, and it was eventually swapped to Norse mythology.
Which fun fact- Atreus wasn’t originally Loki! It was conceived halfway through, and honestly props to that guy who suggested it. But if we’d kept with the Egyptian route I think our boy would’ve been just normal boy.
But also the reason why I say Egypt- Egyptian hieroglyphs are one of the three languages on the Mask of Creation. The others being Ancient Greece and Japanese.
Now along with it being the original setting and cast, we’ve also had many artifacts that originate from the Egyptian mythology.
Such as an Ankh in GOW: Ragnorak, and Atreus himself even puts on a helmet that originates from the region (if I am remembering correctly) in 2018.
And along with this, I can see Atreus having a time in the Egyptian Pantheon- most of them do have animal forms that they can also slip into, which would give Atreus more of an in I guess.
Also the concept art have the Egyptian Gods seen as gigantic (other then Thoth in that one comic, though maybe he could also become big). So I think he’d logically head that way eventually.
Here is some concept art just to share them
Tumblr media
Giant God in the distance (maybe Ra, or even another one such as Osiris/Set/Horus)
Tumblr media
Killing giant Sphinx from the looks of it
Tumblr media
Finally not 100 certain on this piece, but Kratos fighting a giant Sobek
Who would Atreus be in the Egyptian Pantheon?
Now this is a tricky one. Mostly because it’s one you gotta do carefully.
Atreus being Loki is the twist. And it works solely because he was a new character. Kratos works as Fárbauti because he isn’t super prevalent in the mythology. He’s only mentioned by name.
Thus Atreus should he be also someone in the Egyptian Pantheon (whether outright said or stupidly highly suggested)- he can’t be a big player in the myths. We know the boy now, and forcing him into the role of Set (a similar Chaos being), who is a big player doesn’t work. Because we know both their stories, and we know they don’t fit.
Therefor a suggestion would be to look at deities not super well known in public eye, or even those that don’t have as many mythological stories of them.
My suggestion? Wepwawet. There isn’t too much known of him, but also Atreus could fit him.
Wepwawet is known to have two known weapons- a mace and a bow. He is a wolf deity (a form well associated with boy), and also said to accompany the Pharaohs on hunts. And he is the “opener of ways” which Atreus like his father can bring. Especially if he continues the fight against fate like his father.
But he’s a War God, I hear you say. And I say- so what? Yes, Loki isn’t a war god, but Atreus is also Y’know Atreus. And he was raised by Kratos of all people. I can imagine he could theoretically take up the God of War mantle. Which I’d imagine they’d have to if they want to continue calling the franchise following Atreus, God of War. And he could be a Tyr type and fight for peace.
But he doesn’t have to claim the role of any God or mythological figure tbh. But if they have to make him someone I think Wepwawet would be the best bet at the current moment.
Sigyn?
Not sure what to make the “title” of this section, but this is mostly a small ramble-
I’ve seen some nitpicks or complaints that Sigyn wasn’t seen in Ragnorak and I understand for the most part.
I think Atreus didn’t have enough time in Asgard to get to know too many people. There’s many other Asgardians we never met. But we did meet the big players (or the ones widely known by media).
But with the changed fate shenanigans, this likely prevented Atreus from meeting Sigyn as well.
However I do think we could still meet her.
As we saw from the end, many pieces of Asgard fell into the realms. Who’s to say she also didn’t fall with these pieces and managed to, I don’t know? Wonder off?
It’s possible she’d even possibly travel into another place entirely in trying to escape what was happening. After all, how many of the Asgardians were told of what Odin had done? How many did Sif get to inform about the change in plans before the collapse?
So, if she isn’t in Vanaheim, wasn’t updated, and did fall with the pieces of Asgard, why wouldn’t she run? Asgard fell to the enemies and they could be going after every Aesir God. And who knows? Maybe she managed to get to another area entirely far from the Norse Pantheon.
Could do enemies-to-friends-to-lovers arc with her and Atreus even. And yes, Atreus can have multiple loves in his life. Whether it leads to a polyamorous relationship or just a period of romance (between him and Sigyn or Angrboda idk) I’m not sure of. But I think I’d be fine with either.
And her parents can just be two unnamed Aesir Gods. They could imply her parents to be someone sure, but it also fits to just have them being unnamed similar to Angrboda.
But I for sure feel like they have a chance to still include her.
Edit to this 2/11/24: since posting this I am very much more of the supporter of Atreus and Angrboda. I’m still in that mindset of one of them can very much have different romances because love to me is fluid, and who you’re with can change depending on time and place.
So yeah 🤷 I still think she(Sigyn) can still be included somehow one day as a potential love interest. Or polyam relationship, but that’s just me imagining the impossible (probably won’t see a polyam relationship done good in a loooooong time lol).
But if it doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen. But if it did happen I wouldn’t be bothered too much since that’s life. And we know that Atreus and Angrboda end up together in the end, we just don’t know the journey to that point. Which what that journey entails could be anything.
Now who would be the big bad?
If it’s Egypt, it’s Ra.
Now there’s many Gods that are the Pharaohs (such as Osiris, Set, and Horus to name a few), but Ra is the big player. Pharaohs claimed to the be the sons of him, and other gods would often times merge with him.
This could be the combined form of Ra, known as Amun-Ra even. Since in this form he is considered the King of the Gods.
But also if Ra was the big bad, that means the Eye of Ra could be bosses. Since there is a mythos of him sending the Eye of Ra as the form of Sekhmet to destroy the humans who were plotting to rebel against him.
And if Atreus was believed to be a threat why wouldn’t one of Eye of Ra be sent after him? And there’s at least three (Sekhmet, Hathor and Bastet).
Last thing too is that Ra sometimes has a myth attached to him where he is reborn everyday. With the sunrise he’d be born again, and I think that’d be an interesting thing to see play out.
Most the final big bads have been older guys, and while Ra could fit the bill- it’d be interesting to see him at different ages. Imagine an age we could see him at even being the same age as Atreus. Maybe the final fight could be just holding him off until sunset when he’s at his oldest.
But the image of Atreus befriending someone his age and then an hour or so later running into the same guy but ancient is something that digs at my mind in a good way. Imagine the fuckery.
I kind of played with the idea in my head that the Eye of Ra Goddesses came from different pantheons. Since most of them their only parent is Ra (Bastet sometimes has a mother that is Isis), one could potentially play with it. Maybe one of them is from the fallen Greek Pantheon, one from the Japanese (the other languages on the mask), and to tie in more form Norse the final one from that Pantheon.
Hell Sigyn could even be one of them, and it would still work tbh since she’d be a new character. Maybe she’d be Bastet.
But that’s a big maybe idea. Since them being just plain ol Egyptian origins is also fine.
Calliope
Now this one is a tricky one as well- and I’ve seen mentions of people saying she’s gonna come back. And tbh? I’m not sure. I don’t think she should because then the impact of losing her (twice) wouldn’t be there.
But I feel like there can be a way since by the end of GOW3 Greece had fallen, and the underworld opened to allow those within to travel. Theoretically she along with other members of the family could’ve wondered out and away.
Personally if she came back, I can’t see Athena not snatching her and using her similar to Kratos. Buuuuut maybe she wasn’t caught by Athena?
Tbh I kind of like the idea of her becoming a God in her own right and having beef with Atreus.
Because Kratos ‘replaced’ her and her mother with a new family Y’know. Not sure what God she’d be. I kind of played with her being Sekhmet since Ra “created” his daughter with magic. Hell with that you could even have his two other daughters Hathor and Bast being individuals from other pantheons that he took in and made his daughters.
Could even do the same to Sigyn :0
But that would be a big stretch and not likely at All. Just a little playful AU in my mind tbh.

Deity Blurb 04 - Loki
Loki is the heathen god of... what the fuck are you the god of?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let me preface this blurb by saying that pretty much ALL of it is going to be based on UPG. Because while we have written records on Odin or Thor, regarding worship and rituals, there's like. Nothing. On Loki.
And, honestly, if it isn't such a Loki thing to do to have their history so muddled and frustrating for historians or even new pagans to try to research, then I don't know what is.
That being said, Loki:
Loki is a god of natural chaos and change, and mischief/trickery. This sounds bad, but it's neutral. Loki plays the role of the Trickster - that is, they push boundaries, break rules, bring about change, and often point out the flaws of the individual, making clear what someone might be hiding, if even from theirself.
Loki is also called Loptr, Hveđrungr, Loke, and possibly Lođurr. The meaning of the name Loki is so vague that it's probably correct. Posited meanings have been "knot," "lock," "airy," "fire," and "entangler."
Loki has two spouses, the Æsir goddess Sigyn, and the Jötunn giantess Angrbođa. With Sigyn, Loki fathered Narfi and Váli, who both are killed by the Æsir. With Angrbođa, Loki fathers three "monstrous" children: Hel, goddess and queen of the dead; Fenrir, who bit off the hand of Týr; Jörmungandr, the world-serpent. These children were each cast out of Asgard in prevention of a prophecy Odin saw, and thus they were each given the power and motive to fulfil their roles in the prophecy Odin tried to avoid. With the horse of the Jötunn who built Asgard's walls, Loki mothers Odin's beloved Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse capable of traversing the very web of the Wyrd. Lastly, in Hyndlulođ, Loki is described as having consumed a half-burnt heart of some angry woman, which then impregnated them, and Loki then gave birth to what is translated as "troll-women," "ogresses," or "witches." Personally I am partial to the "witches" translation.
Loki's parents were each Jötunn, their father Fárbauti (striker), and their mother Laufey (birch, leafy island). Taking from the meanings of the names, one could say Loki was born by the lightning striking a tree. Again, fire associations.
There is the possibility that Loki originated from a spirit of the hearth, especially the flames within it. Parallels between Loki and Logi (god of wildfire) suggest a splitting off evolution from one singular fire elemental. It makes sense to me, anyways, to think of Loki and Logi as two faces of the same flame - one being the domestic fire, and the other being the all-consuming wildfire.
Alongside all of this - Loki is one of them queers. They're not the only one recorded as using disguises, but when Loki is disguises as someone of the opposite sex (take the handmaiden of Thor as an example), they are consistently referred to as that sex, not as "a man in disguise" but as a woman. Genderfluid representation, babes.
In my practice with Loki, he is much more than a comedic relief or antagonist. Loki is the embodiment of natural change, and it's effects on society and civilization. He is the scapegoat but also the light held up to the shadows shoved in the closet. He tells you point blank what you're doing wrong, without any sugarcoating - in the hopes you will try to change, to work on it. He brings unrestrained force into your life, creativity, passion, change, as the enemy of stagnation. After all, a fire that is not stirred, will die.
Offerings to Loki may include:
alcohol
candies and sweets (especially chocolate, licorice, cinnamon candies)
hot peppers/spicy foods
tobacco/tobacco products
hot chocolate
very sweet tea
scented candles or incense (ginger, cinnamon, pine, vanilla, juniper, dragon's blood, pepper, yew)
coffee
mistletoe (especially during Yule)
toys, trinkets, or puzzles
acts of creation (art, music, playlists)
One may decorate an altar to Loki with their symbols (infinity snake, ouroboros, chaos star, name runes Laguz, Othala, Kennaz, Isa); black, gold, red, orange, violet, or green ribbons/cloths/buttons; a particularly large or multi-wicked candle, or multiple candles; an open offering bowl; tiger's eye, obsidian, smokey quartz, amber, fire agate, mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, clear quartz, amethyst, tourmaline; herbs such as beech, pine, juniper, blackthorn, birch, elder, elm, ivy, mullein, thistle, willow, and yew.
Devotional acts to Loki may include shadow work, harmless pranks, exploring personal pradox, examining personal bias, playing games (especially card/dice games or hide-and-seek), telling jokes or stories, researching his family, challenging authority, questioning rules, cooking.
Hail Loki!

July for Loki using 30 Days of Deity Devotion prompts, Day 5 • Members of the family – genealogical connections
Loki Laufeyjarson, Loki Son of Laufey. Laufey is Loki's mother: Laufey the leafy Ásynja (female Æsir), Laufey the Birch set on fire by the mighty Jötunn Fárbauti, the Lightning that strikes and brings the flames to the ground. According to this myth, Loki is of Jötunn and Æsir blood, belonging to both worlds and none at the same time, making him a liminal being from the very beginning. I personally feel Laufey is originally a Jötunn, later included among the Ásynja, but it's an UPG (unverified personal gnosis). Laufey gave birth to two other children, Helblindi and Býleistr, Loki's brothers. Sigyn is Loki's wife, and little is known about her. According to my own feeling, she belongs to the Jötnar too, but it's another UPG. Together they have two sons, Narfi and Váli. The Lady of Járnvid (Ironwood), Angrboða, conceived three powerful children with Loki: Hela, Queen of the Dead; Fenrisúlfr, the Wolf Fenrir; Jörmungandr, Miðgarðsormr, the Sea Serpent that hugs Miðgarð. To all of these children, Loki is father. And yet there is another children, too often forgotten, to which Loki is mother: Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse he conceived in the form of a mare with the stallion Svaðilfari. You may be familiar with Sleipnir being Óðinn's mount. Óðinn is also Loki's blood brother by oath, another detail some prefer to forget. Their relationship may be complex, but if we wanna talk about Loki's connections it seems only fair to me to include his good old friend Grímnir (Hooded, Masked One), too.
When Loki chooses to "work" with you, he'll introduce you to his family, sooner or later, in no particular order. He's a family person, and just loves his dear ones, especially his children, with all his burning heart.
Art by @muirin007 , love this depiction of Loke with his kids!

Second batch of Frostbite characters!
Did these a while back as well. The amount of times I had to flip through the pages and find detail was insane LMAO I do remember when I was doing Skaði’s, I forgot my pen that day and did majority of her work with my finger...rip my hand for all the cramps it went through
Had so much fun doing all the character headshots🥰

Logyn Meta: Loki & Sigyn’s Family in Myth and Marvel (Comparison)
Tumblr media
The family that is ready to begin Ragnarok in order to defend your honor. It’s a tragic tale, but family is something worth fighting for!
Follow me as we explore this crazy, wonderful family that is probably the most famous of the Myth’s.
We may not know much about Sigyn’s side, but Loki’s side is one that legends are made of.
From the Norse Myths, to Marvel Comics and the MCU, we will see the similarities and differences for each member in the different universes as well as learn facts about each one and why they are important.
Tumblr media
Laufey (or Nál) - Loki’s Mother
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
She is Loki’s Mother in Mythology.
Mostly mentioned by the matronymic, “Loki Laufeyjarson” meaning: Loki Laufey’s Son.
Her name (Laufey) is typically thought to mean leaves/foilage. Nal means Needle.
Not much is known about her. We don’t even know if she was a Goddess, human or giant so it is assumed Loki gets his godhood from her.
In the poem Sörla þáttr, Nál and Laufey are portrayed as the same person: "She was both slender and weak, and for that reason she was called Nál [Needle]."
Laufey is listed among Ásynjar (goddesses) in one of the þulur, an ancestry that perhaps led her son Loki to be "enumerated among the Æsir", as Snorri Sturluson puts it in Gylfaginning.
Related to nature like forests and leaves.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Laufey is Loki’s Father in this universe.
As Loki was born small, a motive of embarrassment for his parents, his existence was kept a secret.
A younger Loki sends Laufey into a fateful battle between Odin, leading the All-Father to claim Loki as a son. Laufey was left for dead, wounded, but alive, leaving a future Loki to kill him.
A group of Frost Giants try to revive Laufey by retrieving his skull. It ends with Malekith performing a spell to resurrect King Laufey.
Laufey hates Loki and thinks of him as a disgrace
It ends with Loki killing his father again after he tries to steal the Casket of Winters and kill Frigga.
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
Same as Marvel Comics Counterpart. Appears in the first Thor movie.
Tumblr media
Fárbauti - Loki’s Father
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
He is Loki’s Father in Mythology.
Attested in the Prose Edda and in Kennings of Viking Age Skalds.
A Jotunn
The Old Norse name Fárbauti has been translated as 'dangerous striker','anger striker',or 'sudden-striker'.
Related to lightning
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Mother of Loki in this universe.
Gave birth to an unusually small child to the annoyance of her husband.
It is said the night Loki was born that she stabbed her own heart with an ice dagger, but Loki suspects Laufey is the one who killed her.
Appears as a figment taken on by a parasite. She’s mostly deceased in the comics.
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
Does not appear or have a reference in the MCU
Tumblr media
Loki Laufeyjarson - Son of Laufey & Farbauti. Lover of Sigyn & Angrboda (and many others honestly)
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Everyone already knows the tales about Loki, so I won’t repeat it all again. It’s pretty lengthy. I’ll just point down the basics for him with it.
He’s famous for causing trouble among the gods as the Trickster and God of Mischief. Not a bad guy, but misinterpreted that way, although he can be a dick too. Despite how much he causes trouble for them, he also helps them out of situations too. He just wants to have fun, even if he takes it overboard at times.
Some sources put as Jotun and some say he is Half-Jotun, Half-Aesir (on his mother’s side.)
A well-known Shapeshifter who can be anything: Salmon, Male, Female, Horse. The list just goes on.
A really handsome being who loved to get it on. *finger guns*
Blood Brother’s with Odin. How? We don’t know. It’s interpreted as a friendship or foster-brothers. It’s unclear really.
Gonna start Ragnarok for valid reasons honestly after having his entire family taken away from him or killed by the Gods. #TeamLoki
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Far too many appearances to document here from 1942 to present. There has been some retcons as well with the fact the current Loki has been reborn in a new incarnation also known as Ikol.
In the comics Loki is the adopted son of Odin and Frigga and Adoptive brother to Thor & Balder.
He’s depicted as being the God of Evil in the classic comics serval times. In fact, it’s one of his titles.
Depending on the writer for the classic comics, Loki can have moments of humanity, but all around he causes trouble.
Just wants to rule Asgard and get rid of Thor who is his enemy.
He’s honestly a bad guy most of the time in the classic comics #VillianTrope
I personally have yet to read any current comics of Loki that aren’t the classics so this is where my knowledge and research stops.
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
First off, Tom Hiddleston as Loki is just *chefs kiss* perfection.
Pretty much the same as comics except for the fact he isn’t really a villain. He plays tricks on people for fun and laughs and truly cares about his family.
However, things change when he discovers the truth that he is a Jotun and has been lied to about it his whole life despite being told countless stories of how Jotun’s are monsters to be slain (You fucked up a perfectly good kid, Odin. Look, he has anxiety and trauma.)
He develops major identity problems on top of others things, but despite it, Loki tries to still do best by his family as he wants to belong. Yes, he becomes a villain in The Avengers movie, but not for the hell of it. #Thanos
Honestly, he just deserves better. That’s where this leads. Thank you.
Tumblr media
Angrboda - Loki’s Consort/Lover (Fenrir, Jormungandr & Hel’s Mother)
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
She is only mentioned once in the Poetic Edda as the mother of Fenrir by Loki. The Prose Edda describes her as "a giantess in Jotunheim" and as the mother of three monsters: the wolf Fenrir, the Midgard serpent Jörmungand, and the ruler of the dead Hel.
A Jotun known as Mother of Monsters and Giantess of Ironwood.
In Old Norse, Angrboda means: 'the one who brings grief', 'she-who-offers-sorrow', or 'harm-bidder'.
According to scholars, the name Angrboða is probably a late invention dating from no earlier than the 12th century, although the tradition of the three monsters born of Loki and a jötunn may be of a higher age.
Some scholars say she was a very powerful witch and that she had the ability to see into the future. She was confined to Hel and would not be released from the realm of the dead until Loki was unbound.
In some versions of the Myth’s she knows her children will bring about the end of the world (Ragnarok) as well as being a witch set on fire three times before Loki eats her heart.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
A giantess of Jotunheim and a Witch.
Born to Elderspawn Vârcolac and Echidna.
She mated with Loki and gave birth to Fenrir and Jormungadr. Legends say she also gave birth to Hela, but it seems to be nothing more but legends.
Angrboda died of unknown causes and was sent to the Underworld of Hel.
When Thor needed to know how to get to Hela's realm because she had been taking mortals to Niffleheim, he went to the Hlidskjalf and summoned Angerboda from the underworld, forcing her to tell him how to get there. Once she revealed to Thor the path he had to follow, she tried to take him with her to the underworld.
Only has one appearance in the comics -- Thor #360 (1985)
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
Does not appear or have a reference in the MCU
Tumblr media
Sleipnir - Loki’s Son
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Attested in the Poetic and Prose Edda. In both Sleipnir is Odin's eight-legged steed and child of Loki by Svaðilfari. He is described as the best of all horses.
The Prose Edda contains extra information saying he is grey.
Old Norse meaning: Slippy or the Slipper.
Sleipnir is also mentioned in a riddle found in the 13th century legendary saga Hervarar saga ok Heiðreks, in the 13th-century legendary saga Völsunga saga as the ancestor of the horse Grani, and book I of Gesta Danorum, written in the 12th century by Saxo Grammaticus, contains an episode considered by many scholars to involve Sleipnir. Sleipnir is generally accepted as depicted on two 8th century Gotlandic image stones: the Tjängvide image stone and the Ardre VIII image stone.
Scholarly theories have been proposed regarding Sleipnir's potential connection to shamanic practices among the Norse pagans.
Sleipnir was born when Loki shape-shifted into a mare and became pregnant by the stallion of a giant, as is recounted in the tale of The Fortification of Asgard.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
There are two different origins for Sleipnir in the comics: 1. Thor fighting off an army of the undead on Midgard. He promised to help as long as his horses weren’t eaten, however, Thor was betrayed and took his horses remains back to Asgard, coupling it with Asgardian Magic to create Sleipneir. 2. Loki had hastily agreed to let a Frost Giant re-build the wall around Asgard, in exchange for the Moon, the Sun, and Freya, only he had to do it in six months. The Frost Giant had only asked to use his grey stallion, Svadilfari. Right as the last brick was about to be placed, Loki transformed into a beautiful white mare, and lured Svadilfari off. Loki later gave birth to Sleipnir. (Just like in the Myths.)
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
Odin’s eight-legged steed.
Sleipnir’s origins are unknown. He appears in the first Thor Movie.

Fenrir Wolf - Loki & Angrboda’s Son
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Attested in the Prose and Poetic Edda as the first son of the Jotun couple. He is a wolf destined to kill Odin. So, they bind and seal him when he's still young, with Tyr losing his arm in the process. When Ragnarok comes, he indeed kills Odin, but is killed by Odin's son Vidar in return.
Fenrir is the father of the wolves Sköll and Hati Hróðvitnisson.
In the Prose Edda, additional information is given about Fenrir, including that, due to the gods' knowledge of prophecies foretelling great trouble from Fenrir and his rapid growth, the gods bound him, and as a result Fenrir bit off the right hand of the god Týr.
No chain can hold him, except for Gleipnir, a rope made by Dwarves containing the roots of a mountain, the breath of a fish, the sound of a cat's footfall, the sinews of a bear, the beard of a woman and the spittle of a bird, all of which were impossible items to obtain.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Pretty much the same as his Mythos with some additional storylines.
When Raganrok happened, Fenrir was reborn with the other gods on the New Asgard universe on Midgard. No details of his fate on Earth have been revealed.
Fenrir helped the mutant Wolfsbane as she was carrying the child of one of his descendants.
It is one of the few individuals believed to be more powerful, or equally as powerful, as Dormammu; the others being galactic entities like The Beyonder.
Fenrir is Genderfluid in the comics.
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU)
Fenris is a giant Asgardian Wolf who serves under Hela and is portrayed as Female. She resurrects her as they take over Asgard.
Instead of being her brother, Fenris is her loyal companion and mount.
Fenris ends up getting into a fight against Hulk as he pushes her off, sending her falling into the void below to her supposed death.
Appears in Thor: Ragnarok.
Tumblr media
Hel - Loki & Angrboda’s Daughter
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Attested in the Prose and Poetic Edda. She is a giantess/goddess who resides over the Underworld that is also called Hel, a place where many of the dead reside. She is the daughter of Loki and Angrboda, sister to Fenrir and Jormungandr and usually depicted as the youngest of the three.
Goddess of Death and Graves and ruler of Hel who welcomes the souls of those who died of old age, disease or by accident.
Hel is described as having been appointed by the god Odin as ruler of a realm of the same name, located in Niflheim.
The Prose Edda details that Hel rules over vast mansions with many servants in her underworld realm and plays a key role in the attempted resurrection of the god Baldr.
Old Norse Name Meaning: Hidden
She’s mostly mentioned only in passing. Snorri describes her appearance as being half-black, half-white, and with a perpetually grim and fierce expression on her face.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Renamed Hela in the comics.
Allegedly the daughter of Loki and Angrboda, but it’s never made clear or stated. Hela's genealogy is the subject of controversies and retellings.
Her path pretty much follows her Mythos where she is destined to do terrible things and Odin makes her the ruler over the dead in the realms of Hel and Niflheim until maturity.
At some point, she was considered the daughter of Odin and of a long-lost goddess.
Honestly, she usually tries to expand her powers, wanting to rule over Vahalla and obtain Asgardian souls.
MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (MCU):
Appears in Thor: Ragnarok as Odin’s firstborn and only daughter. Sister to Thor and Loki.
Kinda pissed her dad locked her away and wants to rule Asgard and take revenge.
The cause of Ragnarok and supposedly dies on Asgard after everything is said in done in the movie.
Tumblr media
Jormungandr - Loki & Angrboda’s Son
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Usually depicted as the middle child of Loki and Angrboda, he is known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent who is a giant snake. When Odin takes Loki’s kids away from him, he tosses Jormungadr into the ocean that encircles Midgard. The serpent grew so large that is was able to surround the Earth and grasp it’s own tail. When it releases it’s tail, Ragnarok will begin and he will fight his arch-enemy, Thor.
The major sources for myths about Jörmungandr are the Prose Edda, the skaldic poem Húsdrápa, and the Eddic poems Hymiskviða and Völuspá. Other sources include the early skaldic poem Ragnarsdrápa and kennings in other skaldic poems; for example, in Þórsdrápa, faðir lögseims, "father of the sea-thread", is used as a kenning for Loki. There are also several image stones depicting the story of Thor fishing for Jörmungandr.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Both Loki and Angerboda were descended from the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and were of humanoid appearance; however, the sons Angerboda bore Loki, Jormungand and the Fenris Wolf, did not. It has been suggested that Jormungand and the Fenris Wolf were born as sentient animals because their parents each had the magical ability to change his or her own shape. Hence, Jormungand and the Fenris Wolf each bear the form of the animal that their parents had assumed at the moment they were conceived.
Jormungandr follows the same as his Mythos to a certain degree with his fate to fight Thor during Ragnarok as the God of Thunder would die from his venom.

Sigyn - Loki’s Wife
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Sadly, not many stories that have Sigyn in them have survived to this day. She is only attested in the followings works: Poetic Edda & Prose Edda.
The most famous of her story tells of how Loki has been bound by the gods with the guts of his son, Nari, and how his son, Vari, has been turned into a wolf. The Goddess Skadi fastens a venomous snake over Loki’s face, from which venom drips. Sigyn, stated as Loki’s wife, stays by his side and holds a basin under and catches the venom so it won’t drip onto her husband, but when the basin grows full, she pulls it away to empty it, during which time venom drops onto Loki, causing him to wither so violently that earthquakes occur that shake the entire earth.
In the poem, Gylfaginning, Sigyn is introduced in Chapter 31 as being married to Loki and that they have a son by the name of “Narfi or Nari”. She is then mentioned again in Chapter 50 where events are described differently than in Lokasenna; Vali, described as a son of Loki only, is changed into a wolf by the gods and rips apart his brother, “Narfi or Nari.” The guts of Nari are then used to tie Loki to three stones, after which the guts turn to iron, and Skadi places a snake above Loki. Sigyn of course catches the venom in a bowl. This process is repeated until he breaks free, setting Ragnarok into motion.
In the poem, Skáldskaparmál, Sigyn is introduced as a goddess, an Æsir, where the gods are holding a feast for their visitors and in kennings for Loki: “husband of Sigyn” and “cargo [Loki] of incantation-fetter’s [Sigyn’s] arms.”
Old Norse Name meaning: Victory Girlfriend.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Lonely and looking for female companionship, Loki ends up coming across Sigyn and plans to make her his. However, she is already engaged to a warrior of Odin’s Crimson Hawks -- Theoric. Hence, Loki sets up a trap to have Theoric killed during a mission so Loki can disguise himself as Theoric. Once they are wed, Loki reveals himself and despite Odin attempting to annul the marriage (which goes against Asgardian Law)), Sigyn tells the Allfather that she will follow the duties of a loyal wife since she is Loki’s now.
This is when Odin proclaims her to be the Goddess of Fidelity. This was a thing first started by the Marvel Comics.
Sigyn doesn’t have much of an agency in the comics except being a loyal wife to Loki, sometimes going along with his plans or getting on him for it.
I personally haven’t been able to find any evidence of Sigyn’s parents being Iwaldi and Freya in the comics, so I’m not sure if this fact is Fanon or not.
Sigyn has suddenly seemed to vanish from the comics with her last official appearance being in 1996. It has been allueded at that she died or was killed during Ragnarok.
Her relationship with Loki in the comics is...complicated and changes a lot depending on the writer.

Narvi/Narfi & Vali - Loki & Sigyn’s Sons
NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Not much is known about Narfi and Vali except for being Loki & Sigyn’s sons with Vali being transformed into a wolf by the gods and killing his brother whose inners are used as a chain to bind Loki in the cave.
Narfi and Vali are referred to in a number of sources. According to the Gylfaginning section of Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, he was also called Nari and was killed by his brother Váli, who was transformed into a wolf; in a prose passage at the end of the Eddic poem "Lokasenna", Váli became a wolf and his brother Nari was killed.
Snorri also names "Nari or Narfi" as the son of Loki and his wife Sigyn earlier in Gylfaginning, and lists "father of Nari" as a heiti for Loki in the Skáldskaparmál section of his work.
Narfi’s name could mean “Corpse” in Old Norse, relating to how he was killed by his brother.
There's no mention of what became of Vali after he became a wolf.
MARVEL COMICS (Earth 616)
Narvi never makes an appearance in the comics and is only mentioned in: Free Comics Book Day Vol 2018 Avengers.
There is a Vali in the comics called Vali Halfling. He is the son of loki and a unnamed mortal woman. So, I don’t consider this to be the same Vali that is the son of Loki and Sigyn.

Thanks for reading everyone. This required a bunch of research, but I hope this helps and has been educational. We only have what we can work with considering the surviving myths, but there is so many stories out there that we don’t know of that aren’t clear because of it.
I tried my best to cover everything I knew about them in Marvel too, but sometimes so many retcons is too much to keep up with. I know there may be some errors in places, but it’s the best I could get this with what we have to work with.

I think a lot about the exquisite footwork that Kratos demonstrates when wielding the Blades of Chaos. You ever stop and see the way he moves with them? He does these rapid spins with some of his attacks where he moves his feet so nimbly, and his rhythm and acrobatics can be mesmerizingly fluid. Kratos is astonishing for how he blends his strength with his movement.
So you know how people in Spartan society were encouraged to study the arts. Well, we know Kratos is more musically inclinded than he lets on. He carved a beautiful sounding flute for Calliope by his own handywork.
But consider that he might have had a hidden passion for dancing. Now, Spartan men often did gymnastics to keep their bodies in shape. But Kratos took things further. He took lessons in his young days. He understood that learning the footwork would make him a more skilled and agile combatant. It started out as a way to prepare for coming battles and focus his mind. But circumstances turned dancing into an inspiration for him, in a way he never expected.
Kratos had his heart out for Lysandra for years. He did not think he could ever be with such a good woman, but his companion-in-arms Atreus I convinced him she could love him, if he showed her the passionate, human side of himself. After he turned 30, old enough for Spartan men to marry, he was able to woo Lysandra with one evening dance.
He got an opportunity to take her for a night of music around a campfire outside the city (which Atreus I arranged, of course). A small band of older men, retired from the army, played music for them (which Atreus I was totally not paying them for) while Kratos took Lysandra’s hand under the moonlight (at the behest of Atreus I after twenty minutes of small talk because dammit, Kratos was not going to mess this up!) She was expecting the ruthless, lumbering Spartan warrior would stumble and step on her toes, but to her shock, he took her along for the most gracefully flowing, beautiful dance she’d ever experienced. He moved as if blessed by Hermes, bathed in the light of the moon and fire. The man was more than he seemed. It was love from there.
Over time, his knowledge of music and instruments grew with his knack for moving with them. After he married Lysandra, he shared his passion for music with the daughter they had.
He was a machine of war, a demon of the battlefield. Yet, his humanity was held in his family, and the love of music they shared together.
But like all good things in his life, his passion was severed when he gave his soul to Ares. The God of War cursed him with the Blades of Chaos. They were weapons of sweeping destruction, chained blades meant as shackles for a monster, as dangerous to himself as they were to his enemies. What pained him most, however, was his knowledge of music and dance actually granted him the finesse needed to wield the blades. It was like cruel fate.
Truthfully, Kratos’s passion was never taken from him. He merely locked it away. His love of music was tied to the memory of his family... and his guilt. Despite his barriers, he could only hide the truth from a certain woman from Midgard for so long.
In all their years together, it was rare that Faye witnessed the Spartan wield the Blades of Chaos. She wondered how her dear Fárbauti, big and boorish as he was, learned such a mesmerizing style of combat. Turns out, she only needed to find one piece to put the puzzle together.
Faye liked the sound of the drum. She sometimes played music to herself in the woods. She didn’t play while at home, when Kratos was around. She understood he didn’t like the racket. Or so she thought.
One time Kratos came to her, hesitantly, while she played. He felt quite longing for her company that day, though he tried not to show it. She was grateful that he would listen to her music, standing stoically by the tree. She sang and skatted as she played energetically, losing herself in her rhythm for some time.
But when she looked to Kratos again, she saw it. The subtlest tapping of his foot.
Kratos was not aware of his movement until she stopped playing, and he realized she had noticed.
“Were you moving? With the music?”
He actually hesitated to answer.
“No.”
She smiled at him. She scooped up the drum, stood up, and approached him. She pointed a finger in his face playfully, and said “If there’s any music that makes you move... there’s something out there that makes you dance.”
She took the drum back home, but not before saying “I’ll find out what it is,” as she walked past him.
She wasn’t able to find it before she passed away. Even though Kratos was pained by his old passion, there was a small part of him that wished that she did find it, if he could have an old piece of his heart returned to him.

My GOD OF WAR predictions
[Quick disclaimer, these are my educated guesses mixed with some fan-theories that I found on other sites.]
It's all but stated that this God of War series will be a trilogy centered on the Norse pantheon. So, what can we expect in the next two installments?
Well, GoW2 will most likely take place after a three year time-skip [I’m not too sure about this as the last game stated that they'd only meet Thor after "many years"]. The last few months of Fimbulwinter are coming to an end, and Atreus is a young man now. The trio - Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir - have been trying to keep their heads down during the intervening years, but Odin is well aware of their existence, and he's not happy at Kratos' ability to alter the dynamics of Ragnarok [he killed Magni and Modi, despite the fact that they were predicted to survive past ragnarok, and the killing of Baldur happened centuries ahead of schedule], and Odin's control-freak tendencies wouldn't allow his presence to potential screw up his plans.
Which brings us to Thor.
Thor in this story is Odin's best attack-dog, and he's set him loose on the trio. Thor is basically Kratos from the first few games -- a brutal and vindictive butcher that viciously slaughters anyone for the smallest of slights. The only difference is that Thor is completely loyal to his pantheon, and, more importantly, he's not a critical thinker; he's content to be a blunt instrument for his father as long as he gets the excuse to kill anyone and anything he likes.
And along with Thor will be his step-son, the archer Ullr, who will be an evil counterpart to Atreus.
This attack will more-or-less set the game into motion as the trio have to out-run their foes. They don't have the goal of spreading ashes anymore, they're on the defensive. This is a very "actionized" sequel, that trades the slower, somber moments with a fight for survival. Thor will likely be too powerful for Kratos to fight, even with the foreign magic of the Chaos Blades. So they have to essentially run to different realms (possibly ones we haven't seen yet), to try and lose their perusers.
Meanwhile, Atreus is still getting a grips on his god-powers, with his inherited Spartan Rage giving him problems. Though, he has discovered that he can turn into animals [this could be a new gameplay mechanic, but it's just as likely to not be there at all].
Along the way, the trio find that the stories of Kratos and Atreus have spread to other realms, emboldening factions that are against the Aesir. One of the factions is led by a young woman named Angrboda [This I'm not totally sure of, but I wouldn't be surprised; she may even be a Fire Giant like Surtr].
Angrboda is a passionate revolutionary who wants to take the fight to the Aesir, but Kratos wants to run and hide. Atreus follows his father, but his natural morality compels him towards fighting the gods and potentially ending their reign. Kratos being Kratos knows that no good can come from destroying a pantheon, even one as monstrous as the Norse.
Here is where we truly understand the length Odin will go to avert ragnarok by altering the natural balance of the Nine Realms:
He purposefully imprisoned the Valkyries to upset the flow of souls going into the various afterlives; ragnarok doesn’t happen unless all the realms are working properly.
This is when I think we'll get closure on the Light Elf/Dark Elf war -- the Light of Alfheim is a mass-brainwashing device that has lulled the Light Elves into a passivity [I think if you enter the Light it shows you your heart's desire, and the happiness you receive from it makes you part of the hive mind]. The Dark Elves want to contain it to continue powering their world, but know of its danger.
And this is when I think Freya will return, having allied herself with Odin again so she can have her revenge on Kratos.
Eventually the trio are defeated by Thor and Ullr, but they aren't killed. Instead, they're taken prisoner by Odin. The Allfather has a habit of keeping instrumental keys to ragnarok in captivity [like Skoll and Hati], and he's very interested in the Greek magic of the Chaos Blades -- Greek magic being a lost art, and all.
Odin probably plans on killing Kratos as he’s already served his purpose in the Jötunnar prophecy as "Fárbauti" -- the "cruel striker" and father of Loki. For Atrues, he’ll lock up in the deepest, darkest dungeon. If Atreus can’t do anything, then Loki can’t come to be.
While he’s awaiting his execution, Kratos meets Tyr, who had been imprisoned all these years rather than killed, as was believed.
Somehow, the duo escape and save Atreus, but they get separated from Tyr as they try to save Mimir.
But in their escape, Kratos is killed [possibly by Heimdall, just as they’re about to exit Asgard, as cruel knife-twist], and Atreus takes up his father weapons and swears vengeance on the Aesir. Fully adopting the name of “Loki.”
Which ends GoW2.
Starting with GoW3, Kratos is rescued form Helheim by Tyr (who loses his hand to Garm, the watchdog of Helheim, doing it), and discovers that years have passed, and the realms are in ruin with ragnarok in full-swing.
From here, Kratos has to find his son and piece together what happened since he died.
With a full-scale war happening, the forces of the Aesir, Vanir, and Jötunnar are killing each other at every turn and Kratos (now without his axe or blades) will be caught in the crossfire.
He’ll learn that Atreus has gone down a dark path and become completely consumed by vengeance. As well as fathering with Angrboda his children Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Hela. The latter two inheriting his shapeshifting powers.
And it’s revealed that Surtr’s sword isn’t enough to truly destroy the Nine Realms, as his fire is Norse magic, and it requires the Greek fire of the Chaos Blades.
It all culminates in a massive battle at the heart of Asgard, with Kratos desperately trying to talk sense to his son, to no avail.
Atreus/Loki will kill Heimdall, but be mortally wounded.
Fenrir will kill Odin.
Tyr will kill/be killed by Garm, but not before giving Kratos one last piece advice about how the gods must be good.
Thor’s battle against Jormungandr will splinter Yggdrasil as the Nine Realms burn with Chaos Fire, creating tears through time. The Serpent falls in, only for an older, stronger version to appear and kill the thunder god.
The world starts tearing apart at the seams.
This is when Atreus finally dies in his father’s arms.
Kratos will awaken in a new Midgard that has no trace of the other Eight Realms or Norse magic. Overcome with grief, Kratos, again, tries to take his own life, but remembers Tyr’s last words.
“Only when gods are good can the world know peace.”
Gaining strength from this, Kratos resolves to find the other remaining pantheons in the world. Not as a destroyer, but as a peacemaker. [Cory Barlog has said that Kratos is the only playable character in the God of War series, and since the series is a hot IP again, I doubt they’ll stop with the Norse gods.]
Thus ends the Norse Cycle.
What happens next, I can only guess. Most likely, the next pantheon that has the bad luck of meeting Kratos will be the Egyptian gods, but the Japanese or Mesoamerican gods are just as likely.
[There are some theories that state Kratos is actually Tyr and the next installments will have time-travel involved, but I seriously doubt it. That creates way too many complications to the story.]

Kratos x Faye
Several days past since the stranger had been in her care.
On the first day, Faye had taken pure water and clothe to his bedside. In the rush to stabilize the god, she had not washed away the grime and filth that covered him from head to toe. She hated the idea of touching him. It seemed wrong to offer a god such intimate care while her kind had been slaughtered by the likes of him. More than that, Faye felt uneasy being so close to a god, especially one that she knew was capable of great violence.
Faye reached out and slowly molded her palm over his shoulder. The stranger flinched as their skin touched. He was still feverish. She hoped the fever would not take him to Hel too soon.
“I have questions,” Faye muttered, soaking the clothe in the water basin and squeezing it out. A knot balled up in her chest and she steeled herself with grit teeth. She brought the clothe to his arm and pressed it to his pale skin. He stiffened underneath her touch and his brow knit together. Faye could feel the muscles in his shoulder tense but thankfully, he remained unconscious.
Faye continued to work, all the while cursing herself for placing herself in the wolf’s jaws. This was all new territory for her. For the later part of her life, all she had known how to do was run from gods. Or at the very least, elude them.
For a time, she became slid into the shadows and like a ghost she haunted Asgard. Faye made a name for herself in those days as she tended to the sick and weak prisoners of the Aesir, and passed them all the food she could smuggle.
They called her Laufey the Just.
It maddened and enraged Odin that she had undermined his cruelty. He had sent his son, Thor, after her. Faye managed to elude the witless oaf, but it did get her in the habit of running away from gods. Not tending to them as they lay dying.
Faye squeezed the clothe hard, and roughly scrubbed the man’s chest. Perhaps this stranger was an agent sent from Odin to do what Thor could not. The thought made her stomach twist. And here he was, in her bed, receiving her care, all for him to wake up and wrap his hands around her throat.
It would befit the Allfather to send such an agent to appeal to her good-hearted nature. Faye whispered prayers for Tyr’s guidance as she washed the dirt and blood away.
As the days bled into each other, Faye had nearly gotten used to the god taking up space in her home.
Every day she would check his bandages and change the wrappings. While his other wounds were on the mend, the ones around his wrists and forearms were steady to heal. In fact, they didn’t seem to heal at all. Faye did her best to keep them wrapped with healing salves but deep down she had a feeling that those markings weren’t entirely of this world. They looked like the links of chains had burned themselves into his skin.
She stiffened, her blood running cold.
Faye looked back at her rug for a moment, where underneath the blades lay hidden.
“What kind of man would do that to himself?”
He’s  not a man , Faye reminded herself. Gods are capable of all manner of cruelty. That at least, she knew for certain.
In the night, the stranger would talk as he slumbered. Faye knew all the languages in the nine realms, and yet this one escaped her. Faye knew that she would have to work around the language barrier if she had any hope of getting answers from the stranger. So Faye listened, attuning herself to the strange foreign tongue.
“ Calliope ,” he would call. Faye was certain it was a name. He said something about being sorry. But it was all still muddy for Faye. Did he say he was sorry or was he asking about a goat? She found that she could learn just about any language, even the ones she didn’t know. However, this one would certainly take more time.
Sometimes when he grew restless, Faye would listen patiently at his bedside.
“Who do you dream about?” She whispered, “Who is Lysandra?”
There were especially hard nights where he would jerk violently and cry out. It was maddening for Faye. Though she did not want to wake him and put herself in his rage-fueled path, she also did not want him to open his wounds again.
He’s no use dead , she told herself.
“Sh sh sh,” Faye tried to soothe, but he continued to thrash. By the dim light of her hearth which had died down to glowing embers, she could see his face contorted in pain.
Faye's jaw tighten and placed a palm to his forehead, trying to steady him.
“Be still, god's-blood.”  But her words had no effect. Whatever his agitation was, he wasn’t going to calm easily.
She wasn’t sure from what pit of memories it sprang, but a song found its way to Faye’s lips. At first, it was awkward footing as she remembered the tune.
“The sky is dark, and the hills are white.”
Still, the god was restless. Already blood blossomed through the bandages on his side. Dammit.  Faye continued to sing. It was all she had left to do, other than tying him down.
“As the storm-king speeds from the north to-night, ”
It was a low, whispered song. She was sure that it was a lullaby that she’d heard as a child, one that managed to soothe her when she had nightmares.
“What shall you fear when I am here?
Sleep, little one, sleep.”
Admittedly, Faye felt a bit foolish for singing a child’s lullaby to a god. But it didn’t matter, she wasn’t even sure if he could hear her.
Whether or not he could hear her, as she sang, the man softened under her palm. His contorted face relaxed some. She could feel the muscles in his body loosen as he fell still once again. Faye had begun to rub her thumb along his forehead absentmindedly.
“Weary thou art,  anext my heart
    Sleep, little one, sleep.”
At last, he calmed. Faye backed away and brought her hand back to her side. She gripped her hand in a tight fist, trying to squeeze away the memory of his skin. Faye thought about how she touched him. There was tenderness there. She hadn’t meant to do that.
She was about to go back to sleep on her rug when a hoarse voice cracked the darkness.
“What have I become? ”  the stranger murmured. Faye spun around. He had sounded so lucid, and she had understood him perfectly. Yet, his eyes remained closed. But his expression was pained.
“What have I become?” he repeated.
#
Her feelings about the god became more and more muddied. It was hard to be angry at someone whom she had grown so familiar with, even if it was wholly one sided. He could still spring awake at any moment and turn on her, without any knowledge that she had been the one to bring him back from death’s grip.
She was still unsure how this god would be connected to her future. No more visions had come to her and his restless murmurings offered no insight. Her lack of clarity coupled with long hours had her growing evermore impatient for answers.
The days seems to be growing longer, though dusk approached sooner with the coming winter. Faye grew restless with boredom and impatience as the days dragged on. So, she filled the empty hours with menial tasks as she watched over him. She got in the bad habit of humoring one-sided conversations with him.
One day after she had returned from hunting, she came through her door and announced, “I’ve caught us venison, Fárbauti.”
She had come up with the name which meant ‘he who strikes dangerous blows.’ It was fitting. And she was tired of calling him a stranger. It had been little more than a week and he had slept in her bed, shared her hearth, and even eaten her food (or whatever broth she could slip past his lips). By any normal standards, he was not a stranger anymore.
She slung the carcass from her shoulder and let it land heavy on her table. Faye brushed a strand of auburn hair from her face with a heavy sigh.
“No grumbles for me today, eh?”
He did not stir.
“Fárbauti?”
A brief panic came over her as she noticed his chest did not move.
“No no no no. Shit!” Faye threw down her bow and quiver and rushed to his bedside. She waited for a moment, holding her breath. His entire body was unnaturally still. She reached out, putting both hands on his shoulders and shook him gently.
She had spent too long hunting. Had the fever taken him in that time? Faye thought he was getting better, already his wounds were fixing to heal well. She was sure he would wake soon, not succumb to his injuries.
“ F á rbauti !” Faye shook him again, harder, but was like a stone. She put her fingers to his neck and found a slow, lazy pulse.
There was one tried and true method that she hadn’t tried. Faye winced, and she drew her hand back.
“Please don’t be angry,” she prayed.
She struck him hard across the face.
Eyes like molten gold snapped open.
Faye’s heart leapt up in her throat.
Fuck.
#
Farbauti gripped her wrist hard, his eyes burning into her own. Her mind spun. Words tumbled out of her mouth.
“ Friend, ” she said in his language. The man growled and said something back, but she couldn’t understand.
“I am not your enemy-” she barely got the last word out when his other hand game to grip her throat. She tried to say the word for friend again but Fárbauti gripped tighter and choked the words from her. Faye clawed at his hand and her lungs burned for air.
There would be a time for reasoning later.
Faye brought her free hand down to his jaw in a quick jab. He grunted and released her. Faye stumbled back, coughing. Fárbauti rose from the bed and winced in pain. He gripped his side and found the bandages there.
“Friend!” Faye croaked and pointed at her chest. “Friend! You stupid oaf!”
What if he wouldn’t back down? What if he gave her no choice?
The axe was at still his bedside where she had left it.
Stupid!  She scolded herself.
His gaze followed hers to the axe. With a low-burning snarl, he hefted the axe in his grip.
“Not friend.” He said. Fárbauti advanced her.
Message received.
Faye recalled the axe to her hand. An unseen force stole the axe from the god’s hand, and it flew through the air in an arc toward Faye. She caught it midair. She ground her teeth, her warrior spirit burning hard in her gut. The god looked from his hand to the axe that was now clear across the room in Faye’s grip. His golden eyes narrowed.
“Come and get it, beast,” she growled.
Fárbauti roared and barreled across the room toward her. Before Faye could raise the axe, Fárbauti rammed into her, his shoulder connecting with her ribcage. Air escaped her lungs and Faye gasped.
He threw her against the wall, knocking the axe from her hand. Faye’s skull slammed back against the wall. She could taste blood in her mouth.
He pounded his fists into her ribs. She managed to blow a few blows, but some met their mark. Pain exploded inside her with every punch.
Fárbauti reeled back, and with another wild roar he brought his fist down. Faye dodged the punch and drove her knee into his abdomen. Right into his wounds. He grunted in pain and drew back, gripping his side and panting. Faye recalled the axe back to her hand.
“Don’t make me kill you,” she warned.
The god panted for a moment and spit blood. There was a small breath between them.
As if he realized that she would not be so easily smashed as the stag had been.
“Come on!” Faye roared.
He faked a step to his left and Faye, in her haste, threw the Leviathan. The axe went spiraling to the left and Fárbauti attacked from the right, bringing down blow after blow with renewed fury. Faye blocked his arm and landed three hard punches to his abdomen. She knew if she kept aiming there, he would eventually weaken.
The god faltered with a cry of pain and Faye landed one more hard punch to his throat. The god stumbled back, gasping for breath like a fish.
Faye inhaled slowly and approached him, calling the Leviathan. She drove a devastating kick to his knee, bringing him down to the floor as he coughed and sputtered. She slid to the floor and wrapped her arms around his neck, bear-hugging the air from his lungs. He drove himself back and buried her beneath him but Faye held tight. She wrapped her legs around his waist and hooked her ankles at his chest to keep him from kicking her off.
“ Friend ,” Faye snarled through grit teeth. Fárbauti elbowed her hard in the ribs and she heard a sickening crack. Still, she held on through the pain.
Struggling harder, and more desperately, Fárbauti reached back and grabbed a fistful of her auburn hair. Faye yelped as he tore a good chunk of her hair out, and dug her teeth into his arm until she tasted blood.
She only had to hold on a bit longer. His breaths were growing more labored. Faye could feel the strength draining from him with every struggle, each becoming less ferocious than the last.
Finally, Fárbauti fell limp on top of her. Faye was still panting and holding tight.
Let go.
She had to tear herself away to keep from killing him. Faye heaved his massive body off her and regained her breath.
Faye planted one last kick into his back.
“Stupid god,” she hissed.

Loki talks a bit about the Jötuns in The Little Frost Troll but I'm curious to know more. Will Loki have heats? Are gems and dripping gold a part of the Jötuns' cultural wear?
Oh boy, Frost Troll asks are my favorite asks, and this one actually inspired a piece of character art that unfortunately I haven’t finished yet, but I hope to be posting it soon!
I’m rubbing my hands together and smiling like a villain because I assure you, Anon, nobody is more excited about getting into the detailed aspects of troll romance and mating than I am. (I’ve spent months building an entire world around this and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. I hope it will be as fascinating and enjoyable to you all as it is to me!)
Loki isn’t going to enter a heat in the classic sense (or a rut, being that trolls are intersex), with lots of panting and moaning and a primal, irresistible need to mate, but he is going to enter a subtle phase of sexual receptiveness that even he isn’t fully aware of (at first), and it’s gonna be coming up very soon in the story, like within the next two chapters or so… unless I go off on a rabbit trail and spend some time casually wandering around on a certain subject, which has been known to happen.
Tumblr media
As far as cultural wear goes, the frost trolls—and most trolls in general—have relatively rustic, simple attire with only a little jewelry, if any. Think leather and carved wood and pieces of hammered metal. Royalty would of course be an exception, and I have it in my mind that all trolls possess an appreciation for gold and gemstones. Hunigmál, or “honeymetal”, is their word for gold, since honey is prized above any stone or jewel. Bracelets, armbands and anklets are popular pieces, as well as rings worn on the horns and fingers. Bee motifs are a common design in gold jewelry.
Trolls also like to decorate their navels, either painting them using plant dyes—most commoners choose this method—or wearing little jewels in them, such as royalty does. And before you ask: yes, you’re right, I totally yoinked the idea of bellybutton gems from the treasure troll dolls that were popular in the 90s. I thought the image of Loki wearing a jewel in his navel was outrageously cute. XD
But I headcanon that trolls wear navel jewels for more than just looks; to them, it’s a way of honoring their mothers, and a way for expectant troll-mothers to lovingly adorn their bellies and unborn little ones. Much respect is given to mothers in troll society, but because of his hard-nosed, unsympathetic father, Loki was never allowed the opportunity to honor or even mourn his mother after he died giving birth. But now that he’s out from under Fárbauti’s cruel thumb, he’s probably going to get his chance. :)
Thank you for the ask!I hope I answered your questions and didn’t spoil any surprises you might have been waiting for.

To understand why Laufey raised her son on Jötunheimr versus the more hospitable (for their kind) regions of Múspellsheimr, one must understand the culture of Múspellsheimr, first.
All across the planet are various tribes, each with their own set of laws and customs and traditions upheld by their individual leader/s. There is one tribe* that is larger than all the others combined, partly due to the land they sit upon, the resources they have, and the amount of Eldjötnar they have accumulated. They were the behemoth for which a great deal of unrest sprouted from in the future. Fárbauti belonged to this tribe (Laufey belonged to a smaller one within their territory reaches). Where most fire giant tribes generally hunt and gather and farm as needed for their own, Fárbauti’s practiced animal husbandry and large-scale agriculture. Hunting was still common as it had a lot of religious and ceremonial importance, but their size would not allow it for common practice.
As seems to be the case with most too-large communities, the tribe’s leaders were power hungry, extending their reaches beyond capacity. Most of the surrounding tribes had a beneficial relationship with the larger, permitting the usage of their land for farming in return for a small portion of the crops. But this accumulated to a point where the demands were raised and, ultimately, not met. The larger tribe asked for more and more and more and when they were not given what they wished they took it by (sometimes deadly) force.
Fárbauti was one of many fire giants who took up arms to oppose their own tribe, to, if not beat back the power hungry wolf’s head, to take it for their own and use it to their own individual advancement. Fárbauti was a well-respected leader during this time.
When Loki was born, this unrest was at its very height and was the reason for Laufey leaving for Jötunheim. Her entire village had been forcibly taken under the reign of the larger tribe, which was how she was planted into Fárbauti’s domineering embrace. Her mistreatment by her own kind combined with the uncertain future of her son’s life was enough to prompt her to find something more suited to her wishes. Jötunheimr was well known for being a prosperous and generally welcoming place, though fire giants were often regarded warily by certain Jötnar (i.e. frost giants) and the weather could sometimes be nigh inhospitable for them. They were not the only ones to leave for something better.
On Jötunheimr, Laufey and Loki were primarily hermits. She had purposefully picked an area devoid of a community so she could have full autonomy over herself, her son, the food she grew, and the animals she hunted. This did not mean she scorned any who passed through, Laufey was not unfriendly, merely untrusting. She wanted to be ruled by no one but herself and this was a practice she implemented in her son.
Fárbauti had remained behind on Múspellsheimr for a list of reasons:
He was determined to be a war hero
He was already a leader
Laufey was dispensable
He was still young and capable of having countless other children to carry on his name
Loki wasn’t his only son
That being said, he still visited Laufey often because the prospect of an additional son was always welcomed and he wanted to have some hand in the way he was being raised. Unfortunately, Loki never amounted up to his expectations and he refused to claim him as his after Laufey’s death^ (which Loki was just fine with. This is why he is not considered Fárbautason).
*The tribe’s name is either unknown or untranslatable to English. Loki says it is something akin to “Fast Heat” or “Flames That Dance”. They’re a group of Eldjötnar that were renowned for being able to manipulate flame in a method that could be seen as artful. Loki knows how to do it, it was one of the few good things Fárbauti had taught him as a child. ^ The cruel Jötunheimr winters were the cause of her death. She was Loki’s current age (6,000~) when she passed.

Redone info. on my Lady Loki {Still a WIP..}
Tumblr media
(I made this using a template made by VisionaryDame, which my sister showed me. What I own is the info and the changes I made to it.}
Introductory information -
Name: Loki Laufeydottir.
Faceclaim: Darya Goncharova.
Other titles/nicknames: Silvertongue, goddess of mischief, Lady Loki.
Age: Unknown. Gender: Female. Relationship status: Single - has loved once and lost twice. . Species: Aesir/Jotun hybrid (of sorts.) Affiliations/Organizations: The people of Asgard (in her own dimension), her past lovers, and lost children. Occupation: Former princess. Now, single and overprotective mother.
Her Appearance
Tumblr media
Long dark hair, pale skin, and bright green eyes. She is thin, and prefers to wear black more than any other color, but will wear either green or gold if wearing something more formal.
Height: Five foot seven and a half - usually. Otherwise depends on what form she takes. Weight: Largely depends on what form she takes. Right or Left handed?: Ambidextrous, but predominately right handed. Tattoos/Birthmarks/Scars: Many scars gotten over the years, and a small snowflake shaped birthmark beneath her chest. She has other marks on her body in true form, though they have been slightly altered due to her many attempts to change how she looks. Jewelry/Accessories: Two piercings, which she gave herself. Out of a final acceptance of what she was being called, and as a way to remember her fallen children; both lip rings she has are engraved with their names.
Other basic things to know
Personality: She can be cold, and distant, especially if she doesn’t know someone. It takes her a long time to become alright with anyone, as she has a lot of trust issues. She is uncertain of children and finds they make her uncomfortable, while animals make her feel more at ease. At times, she is known to be sarcastic and even snide or vindictive - however, most of the time she prefers her own company to that of others and despite feeling lonely, will still isolate herself willingly to avoid being hurt again. Aside from all of this, she can and will kill someone for coming too close to her son. Favorite things: Books in which she can learn something she didn’t now before or she can expand her knowledge on things she has found interest in, spending time in forests or gardens, cats, Nutella, and macaroni and cheese on hamburgers.
Least Favorites: Excessively crowded places, being distracted when she is trying to read, and being reminded how much she misses her children. She also hates to eat spinach or beans, if they are alone and not in with something else. Hobbies/Interests: Sitting in her pajamas barefoot, and reading books. Sometimes, she likes to watch baking shows simply because they interest her; most of the time they are the ones where people aren’t very good at it. Most of her free time is used on practicing magic, or learning new things. She likes to keep her mind busy, so she doesn’t have time for her mind to wander - a majority of her nights are spent sleepless. Which..sometimes works in her favor if Sleipnir needs her.  Phobias/Fears: Her biggest fear is letting herself open up and be close to someone again. She doesn’t want to fall in love, and she doesn’t want to have another child for fear of being a bad mother or not being able to protect it. Another fear she has, is being touched. She hates being touched suddenly, or without her permission. As well as being found out by anyone from her dimension - or having her only child left killed by Odin.  Habits: Cleaning her apartment when she is upset about something. Running her fingers through her hair while reading, or chewing at her lips and inner part of her cheeks when thinking. Obsessively checking on her son. Mannerisms: A lot of the time, she speaks with little emotion. The times when she shows the most emotion, is when she is asked about something in which she is very interested, or knowledgeable about. Or is talking to her child.
Skills/Talents: Lying, though she usually does it only when she has to. Mind games, puzzles, and tricking others are sometimes pastimes. She is good at writing, reading other languages, and creating art; although she believes she is not any better at it than she thinks she is at singing. In spite of what she thinks, she actually has a wonderful singing voice. Best Qualities: Attentive to detail, observant of people’s moods and how they behave. Able to remember most things she sees or hears, even if she doesn’t necessarily want to. If and when she allows herself to be close to someone, she is usually fiercely loyal to them.  Worst Qualities: She can be hard to get to know, and hard to get along with if in a bad mood. Sometimes it is hard to tell if she is telling the truth and being sincere, or if she actually hates someone. Her habit of trying to get back at someone, who has hurt her or who she sees as having wronged her, has also gotten her into or caused her trouble on more than one occasion. Morality/Ethics: Her morality is sometimes questionable. It depends highly on the given time and situation as to what she will do. Goals/Motivations/Dreams: Her main goal is to find a place where she can stay and not have to worry about anything; where she will remember/be reminded of her past. Or where she will have to fear her son being taken from her.
Relationship With Others
Reputation: She keeps to herself as much as possible, so she is not known to many. The people that know her will give various descriptions or have different opinions on her based upon how they have interacted.
Friend(s)/Ally(ies): She has very few friends; though the ones she does have, she is protective of, and will share her knowledge of magic with  - Britney (who is a witch), and Amora the Enchantress. Enemy(ies): She counts her ‘father’ and ‘brother’ from her own dimension as her primary enemies. As well as anyone who may be a threat to her son’s safety.
Her Abilities
Powers: x Manipulation/creation of ice and snow/fire, though it can only be used so long as she cannot be around it long without feeling ill.
x Telepathy and memory projection.
x Superhuman durability.
x Creation of illusions.
x Shapeshifting.
x Materialization of objects.
x Others (related to magic) which she is working on still. Strengths: She is most powerful with her telepathy, shapeshifting and illusion skills. Weaknesses: Dealing with fire long-term. Being around excessive heat makes her feel sick. Prolonged exposure to it ends up with her unable to do much of anything until cooled off; the string of “side effects” of being around, in, or just near too much heat begins with feeling lightheaded, then goes to a nosebleed, and continues on from there. Alternate Form(s): Her main alternate form is her Jotun form - which has been altered over time, due to her desire to make it look ‘normal,’ so she won’t have to hide it anymore. The blue of her skin has lightened; the markings she was born with have turned golden, and her hair has turned white save for the ends, which are still black. Instead of simply red, her irises are golden at the edges. The last to change - and to get her to stop trying to ‘fix’ her appearance - was the change causing her nails, lips, and eyelashes to turn a pale golden color.
This would be why she is now not only frustrated with herself, but refuses to let anyone see what she truly looks like due to being even more ashamed of it. Fighting Style: She uses magic most of the time, but has been known to resort to using either daggers or her hands if she has to. Equipment/Inventory: Most of the time, she carries a book on her, but will carry a few pocket knives if she is going out. Preferred Weapon(s): Magic or daggers. Knowledge: 10/10 Motivation: Depends on the situation. Will to act: Depends on the situation. Agility: 9/10 Power Control: 8 /10 Swordsmanship: 7/10 Hand-to-Hand Combat: 8/10 Long Range Accuracy: 9/10 Offense: 8 /10 Defense: 7/10 Social Skills: 5/10 (Depends on who she is around.)
Familial/Biographical Information
Birthplace: Jotunheim. Family -
Birth parents: Laufey (father), and Fárbauti (mother.) - Both likely deceased.
Biological siblings: Helblindi and Býleistr (brothers.) - Both likely deceased.
Adopted parents: Odin (“father”), and Frigga (mother.)
Adopted siblings: Thor, Baldr, Víðarr and Váli (adopted brothers; Thor is alive, Baldr is dead..while the others are unknown.)
Children: Sleipnir (son), Hela (daughter), Fenrir (son), and Jörmungandr (son.) - Only Sleipnir is living, her other children are all dead in her dimension.
Familial Background: While she was born in Jotunheim, she was raised in Asgard. As her dimension is vastly different from all the others, she did not have the best of relationships with her adopted family. Her relationships with her brothers and her father were arguably the worst; she knew from the beginning that she was only there to serve a purpose at some point, and to be used for other things until she reached an age of which that purpose could be met. The one person in her dimension who treated her well, was her mother. Though she did little to stop the abusive behavior of the others, she did try to keep her from it by teaching her magic. When being taught by her mother, she was kept safe from harm - any harm attempted to be brought during lessons resulted in harsh punishment and in anger from Frigga, which no one wanted.
Over the years, her time learning with her mother became shorter and shorter. Eventually, she had to resort to teaching herself, and to trying whatever she could to survive. There was, at one point, a moment when she gained favor with one of her brothers; that moment passed and in the end meant little, because he was dead soon thereafter.
Background story : Up until she escaped.
She was born in the coldest, darkest reaches of Jotunheim. Although born to the king, she was too small to be considered a viable heir. Even if she were to find someone who would marry her. Instead of keeping her in secret and raising her anyway, in hopes she may grow bigger; they had planned to kill her, to avoid the shame of having such a small child.Something, for which, her birth mother took her own life over. Had it not been for the war they were fighting with the Asgardians, her life would have been cut short at only a few days...by way of a rather cruel looking blade. After all..they could not take the chance that she would survive somehow and seek revenge upon them. That mistake had been made before in their past, so this was what they took to doing..to ensure it never happened again.
Before the blade could fall, the frozen realm was invaded by their enemies. For her, ‘saved by the bell’ became ‘saved by the enemy.’ An enemy not only to her birth father and his kingdom, but subsequently herself as well..
She was left out on a rock, when the fighting began. Through the whole thing, she was alone. The only reason she was even found, was in the aftermath - when the land was being looted for its riches. Such as it was, there were few things to be found. The most valuable, being the child left alone to die on a rock. Though she was taken not for the reason of sympathy, but for the reason of her possible usefulness later in life. After all, the throne of Jotunheim had to be sat upon by someone within its royal bloodline. That didn’t mean, however, that she couldn’t be married off to someone from Asgard, though. Giving them a double advantage - having raised her, she would owe them. And having married her off to someone - of Odin’s choosing - there would be no reason not to have the frozen wasteland and all its inhabitants in their pocket, right?
This may have been true, had she not began to piece things together for herself. No matter what she did, she was not seen as equal. Her skills in magic were called upon many times, though were never appreciated in the end once a task was completed.
As she got older, the many years of being treated differently had her believing that in some way; she was different. How she was being raised had little to do with love or affection, and had much to do with making her feel like she was simply something there for their amusement - until the time which she would be useful.
It took her a long time to figure out just what she was, and by that time, confronting Odin about it did little. She was told she should appreciate that she was alive, and that she had a home. That no matter how she was treated, he had saved her life and so therefore it no longer mattered; so long as she was living, she should be grateful. It was not until she grew old enough to truly resent Odin and his plans for her, that she began to rebel. She was testing things, in some instances. In others, she was blatantly defying everything Odin had in mind for her. Often, this led to troubles which she then had to get herself out of, and gained her more enemies than it did people who liked her.
Her most notable times of defying his wishes, came in the form of when she gave birth to two different children. One by a fleeting affection, the other by someone she had actually come to love. Both times, she thought she had gotten away with it. And both times, her children were taken and her lovers were slain. Her last child, she had by her first true love; the second to die because he had gotten her with child, and because she had been told she was to court no one. And to especially, give herself to no one. At the time, it made no sense to her. The loss of her two children sent her into a darkness, one which forgot to allow enough care in to even try preserving herself. Until she had youngest child; whom she kept in utter secrecy. No one knew of him, save for herself. It was for him, that the darkness began to break at last..giving her a reason to try.
During the first few years of her young son’s life, Loki continued to dwell on the loss of his siblings. Something for which, she never forgot..nor she ever forgave. Multiple plots and schemes entered her mind. Many ways of returning the pain he had inflicted upon her crossed her thoughts, and even more of them went array. It was not until her actions caused the death of one of her elder ‘brothers,’ and put the warrior woman Sif near death, in retaliation for her years of mistreatment; that her purpose was finally revealed to her. Odin had tired of her actions, and had decided it was time she knew for what true purpose he had brought her to Asgard. Something she had already been suspecting, though had not wanted to consider. The revelation of her true parentage came as little surprise. She had figured that out long ago, and had been trying to ‘fix’ her true appearance, so she would no longer have to hide it. Her hope had been that if she could change that part of herself - which she was sure others must have already known about, hence their treatment of her - then they would see her as equal, and begin to treat her better.
In the end, all her efforts backfired. She ended up changing her true form in ways she never wanted: ways which made her more noticable, not less. Out of her shame for it, she resigned to keeping it well hidden away - and to the fact that she would never be seen as anything more than a pawn to be used in Odin’s games.
His reasoning for taking her, proved it even further to her. No matter how she wanted to rebel, or how she wanted to object, there was a fate in mind for her that she could not escape.. Though she did delay, by causing the mysterious ‘disappearances’ of many of Odin’s choices. He wanted for her to wed someone of his choosing, and return to Jotunheim. To be queen as more of a ‘figurehead’ sense; to rule how he saw fit, and to do as she was told.
This was something that she wanted no part of. When causing the disappearances of Odin’s choices no longer worked, she began to study again. Something that many there thought impossible; something that she had but one, incomplete, and damaged old book as a source to learn from.
She was hurried, though. There was no other escape she could think of, and she was determined to leave before Odin would have his way.
In the nights before the wedding was set to happen, her plan was born. She would fake her own murder, and take her son with her when she left. How she would leave, was to be a portal to another dimension. One she’d learned to create, through reading the book she had found. It would not stay open long, and she was not sure where it would take her, but it was a risk she thought worth taking.
This is how she and her son, Sleipnir, ended up where they are now.
Background story : Life now.
It took a long time to adjust to where she ended up. Earth, in another dimension.
Life here has been different for her. The address of which she lives technically doesn’t exist, as it was created by her. Out of a desire to keep Sleipnir safe and from being found, she has changed how he looks to match that of a human child. She has also changed his name, at least while they are out. Unlike how she was raised, she has made sure to tell him as much as he can understand; she does not want to repeat how she was treated, and believes he should be aware of who and what he truly is.
As much as possible, she tries to let him live life as a normal child. For herself, she has attempted to live as she sees ‘normal’ human adults live. In memory of her lost children, she has a set of snakebite piercings engraved with their names; that also are a hint at some of the things she has been called before, and are sort of her way of finally accepting them.
One major difference between herself and ‘normal’ human adults, is that she avoids other people as much as possible. She prefers not to involve herself with anyone, so she does not have to socialize or interact with them. This being said, she has had no lovers of any sort since the death of Sleipnir’s father, and currently desires to maintain things that way. The only exceptions so far to her desire to remain absent from society, are two women with whom she has shared her secrets of magic with. One, a witch. The other, an enchantress.
{ This is a redo of her story, so it’s safe to say she and my baby Sleipnir are still a work in progress. <3 }

The Soul Bond
@heroesbeyondtheninerealms {Thor}
The disputes over territory had been going on for long enough. Both sides had taken casualties and in the end no progress had been made. After years of bloodshed the kings of the Realms came together to pay homage to one another to end this by gifts, trade deals or in the case between Asgard and Jotunheimr; a bonding.
Being that Laufey, king and lead alpha of his people only had one son this was a very special arrangement. Loki looked like a runt to those who did not know of Jotnar customs but in actually, smaller Jotun’s were exceedingly rare and male omega’s even more so; born with pure magic in their veins.
On the first day of the Autumn Equinox the Royal family of Jotunheimr entered Asgard as guests, guided into the grand hall where Odin and his own family waited for them. Bowing in respect Laufey stepped forward. “Allfather of the realms, as my homage to you I present you with my only son, Loki. A male omega and prodigy of the magical arts.. Step forward my son..” The giant waved his hand, Fárbauti his wife taking a step to the side to where a Jotun half their size stood.
Wearing thick furs over his shoulders he came forward, removing his cloak and handing it to his mother.
His hair was long, raven black and nearly touching the small of his back; free of claiming braids. Deep red ruby eyes held anything but excitement for this arrangement. Markings were etched all over his exposed torso, arms and face. All he wore was a long green wrap over his hips that hung down to his knees, thighs peaking out the side. Gold bangles and cuffs littered his wrists and biceps. Taking a small curtsy he spoke. “Greetings my king..” His voice sharp and not timid like a normal Omega at all!
