only out here i believe is omens, so look forward to this boyo becoming an adoptable sometime soon ! as for the rest, i think i’ll be keeping them all for story purposes later! but i’ll still make some other concepts just in case.

venus ambience [she/they|demisexual lesbian|second oldest]

the melancholic child of stars, the tired matron of roses, the new arbiter of sleep, venus is the docile daughter of the luna poly group. she’s an unenthusiastic little cloud, who wants nothing more than to sleep all night. and dream of nothing but sweet smelling cherry blossoms, and pink clouds. unfortunately, her family’s life situation calls for her needing to be a bit more awake than she wishes. she’s not the most motivated pony in the world, but she is observant , and very creative and talented when she puts her mind to tasks. but she’s just not motivated enough to try anything else but sleep and listen to gossip.

eurus [she/they|bisexual|oldest]

the shadow of cantorlot, eurus is the intimidating oldest child of luna. she’s a force to be reckoned with, and has a gaze sharper than any blade. rumor has it that part of eurus’s abilities is partial omnipotence , and that she has eyes all over the castle. which may or may not be true, as the mare seems to always hear the whispers of noxious ponies in the halls of the castle. aside from her terrifying misadventures, eurie is also known as the “condescending hard-ass” of her siblings. often taking things way more seriously than others, and coming off a bit strong in her passion to make sure her family is perceived well. though not out of vanity, eurus is just highly protective of her siblings, and would do just about anything to make sure they stay safe and out of bad light.

omens [he/they|demiboy gay|youngest]

the sweet, smol boi of the sibs. omens is the kindhearted soul of his bunch, and does all that he can in the best interests of others. and while that does lead him to get hurt quite a lot, omens is still just proud to do his best to help others out whenever he can. and due to his foresight abilities , omens has a tendency to overthink quite a bit when it comes to approaching situations. being able to foresee all the worst outcomes. even if it may have a good ending- how can he take a chance on that!? oh gods. what is he going to do with himself ,,,

daydream [he/him|poly bisexual|second youngest]

even tempered, and far more chilled out than his other siblings, day is a voice of reason within the homestead of the royal family. his down to earth nature make him a close friend to most all who live within the castle grounds, as he’s always around to listen to the woes of whomever needs an ear to hear. because of his antics, day has always spent a good amount of time with the staff of the castle. especially those in the gardens, and one pony in particular. who taught him quite a lot about the maintaining of flowers and other sweet smelling herbs, which have lead to his own personal passion of exploring elixirs and crafting teas.

Jim Moriarty and bi erasure in The Sherlock Fandom

So I saw someone making fun of Moriarty/Eurus by claiming Moriarty is the gayest character in the show and that Jim even asked Mycroft how he wanted him in TFP, all, of course, in obligatory OUTRAGE CAPS LOCK.

Which is why I feel the need to make the distinction between saying "he's gay" in a "he's so into men" vs "he's so not into women" way. That requires acknowledging both asexual and bisexual erasure. No matter how flamboyant Moriarty is and how many sex references to men he makes, none of that is proof of homosexuality until:

Moriarty makes a definitive statement on his sexuality we are supposed to believe. (I'm gay)

Someone else makes a definitive statement on Moriarty's sexuality that we are supposed to take at face value and believe. (He's gay)

The Powers That Be make a definitive statement on Moriarty's sexuality and the way he was written and portrayed (Moriarty is gay and was written and portrayed as such).

Not all statements on sexuality are clear and definitive, such as Irene saying she's gay but admitting to attraction to a man in the exact same statement and having bisexual coding (both parties separately, male and female clients).

Or John saying that he's not gay but then never clarifying he's straight or not attracted to men.

And we all bring our assumptions when observing potential clues or statements regarding someone's sexual identity.

For example, Harry Watson could be bi but we assume she is a lesbian and we are mostly likely meant to assume that and at that she is probably a butch lesbian or somewhat GNC due to a usage of a masculine version of a name (Harriet -> Harry).

This could be wrong. She could be a feminine bisexual woman who prefers to be called Harry and just happened to fall for and marry a woman.

We don't know the sexuality of the innkeepers in THoB but we assume they are gay men. We assume Raul and Kenny Prince are gay men.

Moriarty refers to his role as Jim from IT as "playing gay" yet he gets flirty with Sherlock in the next sentence. This could all be part of an act, but I do believe reading Moriarty as a straight guy who just likes to mess with people is inherently heteronormative.

Some see Moriarty as a queercoded villain, and some see him as a genuine example of LGBT representation. Maybe not necessarily good representation, but that is subjective. But I do wish people would consider all options before they claim such regressive and potentially harmful opinions as fact.

Headcanons are fine! Claiming something is canon when it is not is different. I am still not over the "confirmed heterosexuality" comments regarding Mycroft and the whole bunch of "straight/het Mycroft" jokes.

And that is coming from someone who believes the Lady Smallwood scene was indeed heteronormative, albeit for different reasons than most people, I believe. But that's a topic for another day. No, seriously, I'll get there.

It's one thing to claim you do not believe a character is bisexual if you don't. It's another to deny bisexuality as an option when it is oftentimes the only option that takes all the evidence into account and does not require stretching the truth or ignoring tells.

Also Moriarty could have had Mycroft on that desk right there until he begged for mercy twice and that still wouldn't have been proof of either of them being homosexual men.

Нет, просто нет. Не могу воспринимать её и Джона после ужаса в Шерринфорде.

Эвр/Ирэн

Тут интересно, потому что Ирэн позиционирует себя как квир(гей) персону. Думаю, до знакомства с Шерлоком Эвр была бы ей очень интересна. После Карачи у них с Шерлоком началась своя история, которая очень сильно изменила Ирэн. Если раньше она смогла бы из интереса с ней пофлиртовать, то потом - нет. Хотя в целом, они монтируются.

Молли/Лестрейд - да, вполне. Вроде видела, такие работы распространены. Не могу многого сказать о персонажах, знаю их поверхностно.

Майкрофт/Ирэн

Это смешно, потому что меня не отпускает тот факт, что Майкрофт смотрит нуарные детективы у себя в кинотеатре с такими же дамами, как Ирэн. Если бы не было Шерлока и Майкрофт выключил голову, то вполне. Только очень клишированно 😄 Как и с Шерлоком, posh boy loves dominatrix – моё любимое. Но опять же, до Шерлока.

Yes, these pairings are strange for me, but not all of them.

John/Eurus

No, just not my cup of tea. I can’t imagine them together after the terror she did in Sherrinford.

Eurus/Irene

It’s interesting because Irene says that she’s gay. And I think she would be glad to know Eurus and flirt with her. But only before meeting Sherlock and all their story and Karachi. But in general this pairing is okay for past-Irene.

Molly/Lestrade

Why not. But I can’t say anything about these 2 characters because I don’t analyse them well enough.

Mycroft/Irene

It’s funny, but yes. I can’t get rid the fact that Mycroft enjoys noir detectives in his private time. And Irene looks exactly like the noir lady. It would be very cliche pairing, but you know the same with Sherlock “posh boy loves dominatrix”. But in this case Mycroft has to “turn off” his brain, but it’s impossible. His brother is more flexible according to “feelings”.

But again, I can imagine it only before Irene and Sherlock’s meeting.

Good omens and Sherlock are quite similar when you think about it.

There are two opposite beings that meet each other briefly and spend their lives together from that day onwards.

The blond one who seems really warm and cozy at the beginning slowly gets a bit darker and also gets put in a fire.

The dark haired one that lives off of sarcasm and wits fell in love fast but denied it for to long and then when the pair spilt up, they still loved the other but the other fell out of love and then they got back together.

They never confess their love to each other but everyone else does.

“Don’t think your boyfriend in the dark glasses will get you special treatment in hell.”

“We’re not a couple.” “Yes you are.”

They also both star Benedict cumberbatch (Sherlock/satan), mark gatiss (mycroft/glozier), Jonathan aris (Anderson/quartermaster angel) and Sian Brooke (eurus/Deirdre).

In 2013, after the funeral of her daughter, Cecelia moves to New York City. 

For one year, Cecelia Holmes becomes almost impossible to reach. However, for the sake of her daughter, she gives up drinking; she starts therapy; she even begins writing the novel she always planned to.

In 2015, she accepts a job at American Vogue as a freelance fashion editor, and slowly but surely makes her way back into society. She dates a politician with his sight set on the presidency, followed by a New York University psychology professor who had very recently left her husband of forty years and come out as gay (the two still keep in touch, but they eventually broke up due to the professors wish to mess around with her newfound freedom).

Much like many Brits before her, she begins a new life in America.

However, in 2017, her father invites her out for dinner in the city. It’s not entirely unusual. Out of all his children, Morland Holmes is closest with his daughter. Cee knows though, from the outset, that it was a business meeting. The popular 5-star restaurant being completely empty on a Friday night was enough.

Morland states his intentions clearly; his sons have no desire to join the family business. That leaves him with two options; hand the business to someone outside of the family, or begin to prepare Cecelia for the role of CEO of Holmes International Consultants.

He does however also make clear that if he believed Celia was incapable of the work, he would not be making this offer. Out of his three children, her resilience, persistence, and ambition has impressed him the most.

Although not strictly evil, the organisation Morland runs prides itself on being able to solve any problem for any client. These clients include governments, businessmen, and criminals. Through methods such as bribes, blackmail, and well places contacts, Holmes International Consultants retains its God-like power.

Despite her own reservations, and Sherlock’s please to decline the job, Celia accepts her father’s offer and leaves Vogue in early 2018.

Her first job is to create contacts within the Chinese government and spends the majority of 2019 and 2020 in Hong Kong. She then returns to London, mission accomplished and shadows her father until 2021 when she is announced as the new CEO of Holmes International Consultants.

In 2022, Celia begins her greatest endeavor. Using some of the greatest minds in the world, Celia begins to design a computer system that is used for the social engineering of whole populations. The machine will nalyze the patterns of history, as well government and online information, and chart a course for the future. In the beginning, it’s simply used to predict things like stock market changes, terrorist threats, worldwide recessions, and election results. The system is soon so powerful that Cee is able to threaten the president of Brazil to bring down his government and to talk with the president’s replacements within 6 weeks. Every company in the near future will need the computer’s assistance for their business.

Cee names the machine “Eurus” after her father’s sister, who died young but had an unexplained ability to know when it was about to rain.

In 2023, Celia wants to take Eurus further. Currently, the system works on the basis of information > output. Cee wants to be able to feed desired outcomes into the computer and for it to output the step-by-step process on how to achieve it. It’s an ambitious goal and begins to overstep the line as to where a stable world begins and personal freedom ends.

Ok but years ago I came up with this Sherlock AU (based on the show with Benadryl Cumberbund) where some of the main characters were actually deities that had been around for centuries. And the interesting twist was that there were two deities for every thing, and one represents the positive side of that thing and the other represents the negative side. For example Mycroft and Eurus were the two deities of like war (tho tbh I never actually figured out which represented the good side and which represented the bad side). But the really interesting dynamic and the main focus of this AU was Sherlock and Moriarty, who were the two deities of knowledge. But unlike all other sets of deities they weren't set on which was the positive side and which was the negative side, they switched back and forth, and took turns depending on who felt like portraying which role for the next couple centuries. All the deities also each had more inhuman forms, I remember Mycroft looked like two of himself side by side that merged together, not in a gory bodyhorror way, but more like an object in a video game clipping through another object. Sherlock's "true deity form" had extra eyes floating around him (bc ya know he's rlly observant) and he had multiple heads that glitched through eachother similar to Mycroft. Moriarty had lots of extra arms and hands (which if I remember correctly were sometimes attached to him or just disembodied and floating, depending on which he felt like) and he had extra mouths that just floated around him, (I never had a specific reasoning for those specific limbs/features but they just seemed like the right choice). And in the AU due to the fact that neither Moriarty or Sherlock was particularly better than the other of being a good or bad influence, and the fact that they also just refused to permanently pick who had which role, they were considered to be weirdos that didn't take their deity jobs seriously by the other deities. Of course bc of all this neither Sherlock or Moriarty is inherently a villain in this AU, and in private Sherlock and Moriarty actually got along quite well bc they're representations of the same thing so of course they do, and of course they're drawn to each other bc they're two sides of the same coin, just depending on the situation either of them could be either side. And also obviously they are both gay for each other. Aaaand I like to think that at some point Watson would end up accidentally finding out about all of this, and ya know, having an existential crisis. I like to think that he walks in on Sherlock and Moriarty in Sherlock and John's flat in their "true deity forms" talking about deity stuff, and he's just like "What the everloving fuck???", then Moriarty points out that they obviously should kill Watson since humans aren't supposed to find out about this, but Sherlock talks him out of it cause he's grown attached to John (in a gay way) obviously. And Moriarty's a bit unconvinced at first but he agrees, and eventually realizes that Watson is trustworthy. Maybe then Moriarty and Sherlock and Watson are all gay together idk.

Anyways I feel I should apologize for this near incomprehensible ramble of an alternate universe idea, but it's been rattling around my head for so long that I needed to just get it out.

Also, bonus! There are two songs that inspired/remind me of this AU: Mind Games by renforshort (this just rlly has Sherlock/Moriarty vibes in general). Oh Ana by Mother Mother (this more reminds me of the dynamic between human Watson and deity Sherlock).

ROADTRIP! : sam, a transmasc youth, and his furry ever-companion soulmate kaid live in sunshine arizona with their new rambunctious friend who moved into the neighboring town a year ago, chelsie who has two furry companions of her own named cosmos and chrysanthemum. high school hell, summer shenanigans, friendships, chaos and fun ensue until a girl named aubry shows up in the middle of the desert following a series of strange occurrences. a week later, the three of them take a short walk and don’t return home. they find themselves in a new world, and, well, quite a few new worlds after that. they need to find a way home and they’re determined that nothing stops them, so they journey into a ever shifting, strange, curious and beautiful multiverse that unfolds before them.

this story is about changes and grappling with them, queerness (trans, lesbian/gay mostly), self discovery and becoming, love, family born into, made and found, faiths, destiny is fake, essentialism is bogus, war is hell, different kinds of trauma, the pace of healing, growing pains, be gay do crime, love for humanity, displacement and belonging, oppression and fighting it, the power in being kind gentle and merciful, and how hugs, hand holding and forehead kisses go a long way. theres a lot more but the hugs are extremely important!

entire arcs in this story have started as seeds planted by me listening to the oh hello’s but especially the albums eurus and the other four winds albums, dear wormwood, and into the deep dark valley. ive got a deep emotional connection to their music and since i found them back in 2019/2020 which happened to be the time i started writing this wip. there are whole albums in my character playlists. they are this music on a certain level. the grip maggie and tyler heath have on me is criminal

daemons, angels and the multiverse concept not only totally ripped completely off from this series but also extremely yassified and hit with a transgenderification beam. transdimensional travel as a metaphor for being trans. a angel fabricating a physical body as a metaphor for being trans. rainbow colored openings to other worlds hint hint nudge gay. answering the age old question “trans people daemons gender what?!” with “lol whatever i have a 4D understanding of gender you wouldn’t get it”. using daemons as a way to talk about queerness, gender etc etc. also us american evengalicalism fuckin sucks, lets talk about that and religious trauma without demonizing “religion” as a whole!! this inspired me to think about the beauty of faiths instead of its ugliest sides but also honor the horrific trauma a certain brand of christianity causes. also what if this multiverse concept was executed better and the story was actually satisfying??

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the sSky (and some other ghibli movies)

okay nausicaä actually inspired a big latter part of roadtrip, mostly its solarpunk elements and focus on ecology, post apocalyptic world and humanity. and insects! castle in the sky is where i got the floating island idea from. some honorable mentions are spirited away, its one of my earliest memories of other world concepts in fiction i remember from when i was a kid, ponyo which is the favorite movie of my character chelsie + some ocean imagery sprinkled here and there and sam loves princess mononoke (this movie helped radicalize me)

Ari and Dante

the slice of life vibes, desert setting but arizona instead of el paso texas, a mexican main character, just taking it easy and being emotionally honest when writing and telling a story is something i learned from benjamin alire sáenz because its one of the first places in literature it really stuck out to me. that you choose your own methods for writing, whatever works for you even if it strays from ‘traditional’ literature structure. realizing a chapter could be 1 paragraph freed me, but now i wish i’d actually let myself apply the guy’s advice. this book had a profound effect on me when i read it at 17, it got me through a lot and its lived inside my head and my soul ever since. rent fuckin free. changed me on a molecular and spiritual level and im so glad it did
