i'm writing (big surprise) and i just can't drop the whole rewriting of END thing. WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE REWROTE HIS LIFE IN ORDER TO SAVE HIM, IN HORRIBLE AGONY FROM HAVING DEMON'S FIRE SPLITTING HER UP ATOM BY ATOM AS SHE USES SOME OF THE MOST POWERFUL MAGICS KNOWN TO EARTH (love) AND SHE SACRIFICES HER LIFE DOING IT (yeah yeah gray's demon slaying ice and whatever is great)
BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT??? THERE HAD TO BE MORE, IT WAS JUST ENDLESS NALU MATERIAL AND MASHIMA JUST "HAPPENED" TO BE A LITTLE LAZY
WHERE'S THE SCARRING AND WHERE'S NATSU FEELING FAINT SHIVERS THAT GIVE HIM A SENSE OF LUCY THAT HE NEVER CAN GET RID OF (not that he wants to ofc) AND WHERE'S THE SCENE OF HER TELLING HIM ABOUT IT, ACCIDENTALLY ADMITTING THAT SHE COULD HAVE DIED, BUT SHE DID IT ANYWAYS AND NATSU JUST VOWS TO SPEND HIS ENTIRE LIFE REPAYING HER BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT SHE SAVED HIM OUT OF PURE LOVE AND HE CAN'T DENY IT AND THEY CRY IN EACH OTHER'S ARMS JUST BECAUSE THEYRE SO HAPPY THEY BOTH SURVIVED THE WAR

Just curious, how do you think Natsu would react to seeing the END markings on Lucy?
Oooh, I love a good angst prompt
Outwardly, Natsu doesn't say anything. He plays up the oblivious, idiot role so he doesn't have to confront the guilt he feels about it
The marks never went away. They faded pretty light but you can still seem them when the sun hits them. Lucy uses makeup to cover them as well
But Natsu has better eye sight than most. So he always sees them and it kills him. He never looks down when talking to her
Somehow he feels like if he looks at them or acknowledges them in anyway, he will explode with guilt
He accidentally grabbed that arm and flinched like he had been burned. Lucy got really insecure when he pulled away and got quiet
Actually, Lucy gets really insecure about Natsu's behavior in general. He won't even look at her half the time and she worries that he thinks she's disgusting with her scars
Every time Natsu thinks about the marks, he remembers that he wasn't strong enough to protect her or himself. And that she had to go through all of that pain to save him
He's eternally grateful that she saved his life, but he can't help but hurt when he sees the consequences of that
Lucy does eventually confront him about it. Natsu denies everything and tries to pretend he never noticed the marks. Lucy calls bullshit, but he's acting so weird that she drops it
It takes a long time for Natsu to talk to her about it. And when he does, he fully breaks down and dumps all the guilt and trauma he's been suppressing for years
He ends up crying in her arms and apologizing for not being enough
Lucy, of course, disagrees with that and tells him that he's saved her life tons of times and that she'd do anything for him
Natsu finally allows himself to look at the marks after that
He even picks up a habit of tracing them with his fingers on bad days
It reminds him that he doesn't have to be strong all the time, that Lucy can protect him and herself, and of the history they share

Fated - mini update series
The day Lucy was born was notably the worst to occur in the history of the empire of Crocus. For their princess, their heir, was burdened with a curse.
Her soul was stained, claimed an oracle, stained and tainted by the mark of a demon.
How this came about, there was no one answer. Be it fate or the silent wish of a jealous witch, she was cursed.
And one day it would catch up, find her, steal her away, make her his bride. There was no avoiding this predestined fate, the scent of a demon not far behind her.
But it wasn’t as dark or foreboding as humans always thought when it came to demons and the underworld Tartaros.
It wasn’t a stain, but a half. Lucy bore half the soul of her destined love born at the precise moment she was.
Her parents, the king and queen, feared this inevitable fate for their innocent daughter. How could she live knowing that a horrid demon planned to take her away and devour her heart? For that is what they were most known for.
They couldn’t subject their only child to constant fear or the reality knowing her future was doomed before it even started.
They couldn’t do it, so they decided that they wouldn’t.
No one knew of her fate save for a few trusted fellows. It was too much of a burden to keep it entirely a secret, so they told only those they knew wouldn’t betray their trust.
She would grow up as normally as she could. With a zest for life and learning, with the poise of a young ruler, and the energy of a spirited young girl.
Soon enough, they’d have to send her away. It’d be harder, of course, for the demon to find her if they kept her safe on holy ground. Hoping that if she stayed high up in a peaceful tower for long enough, she’d be forgotten and the curse lifted.

I’m really really hoping that we get to see E.N.D again in fairy tail 100 years quest. I was so disappointed with all the build up for E.N.D in the original story and we ended up getting very little of what E.N.D looked like and it only lasted two chapters? If even that there’s also no way Erza should have been able to stop Natsu and Gray. Really really hoping that what we saw in the original story wasn’t it that was underwhelming. Hope to see the full version of E.N.D at some point.

Headcanon Request: What if Levy rewrote the Book of E.N.D?
Ooo interesting! Love me a good AU
Lucy still tried originally, but Gray wasn't able to cool her down fast enough so she ended up collapsing
With no hesitation, Levy takes over
While no human can read the demonic language, Levy does understand more of it than Lucy
Which is good because she doesn't have as strong of a bond as Lucy and Natsu do so making her way through the book is difficult
Levy can't read Natsu well so she relies on what she can read to make her way through the book
Gray has to double his ice output because Levy has zero tolerance to Natsu's heat
It doesn't help that Natsu's flames seem to sense that it's not Lucy anymore and have gotten hotter in defense
Levy, being the badass she is, keeps on and manages to save Natsu
Her side effects are pretty brutal
She can't see out of her one eye for weeks
Levy has to go to physical therapy to fix the muscle damage done by the fire
Gajeel is absolutely falling apart with worry. He waits on her hand and foot.
He also fights off the urge to take out his frustrations on Natsu
Levy and Lucy have matching scars from handling the book and they joke that it's their version of best friend bracelets
Natsu goes out of his way to repeatedly thank Levy for what she did
Levy now has the rare but very powerful perk of having Natsu at her command
She can call him to help her out at any point in time with no questions asked
Levy keeps telling him he doesn't have to do everything she asks but Natsu insists it's the least he can do

gonna talk about my main characters real quick, so there's like so many of them and i'll probably reblog this later with the ones i found stashed somewhere random
Lyra, she has brown hair blue eyes, really plain but i love her she's just a lot of trauma in a bag with some issues like insomnia but not that much, i created her bc i wanted a subversion of hated child becomes princess. pretty sure it was that she wasn't actually hated but it was years ago so i forgot, she also has scars but they're children do dumb shit and get hurt bc of it scars like climbing a tree and falling or dropping a bunch of cutlery on your foot bc you too much of them at once.
Violet, purple hair and silver eyes, really into mechanics and straight up does not care about anyone but people she likes, thinks of herself as pragmatic, is not at all, feral, feral child who wants to be left alone and create things but does not get to do that
Angelica, second newest or straight up newest, i actually remember the process this time, it was fire sword chanting to but what if it was a girlie with a fire sword to a story, she's a beauty, she's a gremlin, she has blonde hair that becomes fiery when she isekais and her cyan/teal eyes also change a whole lot bc of magic, her issues are mostly that she gets really violent when startled and that's basically her state throughout all her story and also the hyperfixation on plants
Ember has black and pink hair and purple eyes, girl is in the apocalypse w/ one buddy and is not handling it well at all, she gets fire abilities in the second half of her story and has more issues than Lyra, she sticks with a baseball bat for most pf her story tho, girl decided violence was the plan and stuck with it
Most to least feral:
Ember bc apocalypse else it would be V -> Violet, who somehow places higher than A -> Angelica bc of isekai and ruthlessness -> Lyra bc she's only a teeny tinsy bit feral, this is where E would be if no apocalypse
Most to least powerful:
Beginning of their stories are: V->E->L->A
End of their stories is: A->L->V->E.
