the fact that Stardew Valley is a $15 indie game that came out almost a decade ago with zero microtransactions and is still receiving free DLC updates to this day is absolutely bonkers. There are $50-60 AAA games with paid DLC that have come out more recently and aren’t nearly as actively supported or updated.

As a long time nalu fan, I can't help but compare how Mashima wrote Rave Master then Fairy Tail, especially the relationship between the two leads of each manga.
The finale of Rave Master was so climatic! Heartrenching! Haru and Elie were separated for a year! She forgot who he was but everything fell into place once they saw each other again. Then they got married!
Then...I look at Natsu and Lucy.
Those two have one of the best male-female relationships in anime, but we can't deny we've sort of reached a plateau with them. Every new development never seems to go anywhere. I just cant help but feel frustrated cus looking at Rave Master, Mashima knows how to write romance! I guess he wants something different with them but he can't just keep teasing them but never let them develop into their potential. My guy we've been suffering for yearssssssss.
Tartaros Arc had it. FT reached its emotional and narrative peak in that arc. No other arc compares. Then everything went downhill but that's a whole different conversation.

I think Lovely Complex did a great job humanizing and displaying the emotions of a teenage girl. Even to the point of her hair always being differently styled and her clothes being diverse, just like a real teenager.
They humanize her to the point of letting her be unattractive and make ugly faces in front of her love interest. Letting her be silly. Not hyper-sexualizing her. Having her friends be supportive people. Letting her cry. Letting her yell and get mad.
She doesn’t always have to be perfect and beautiful and emotionless like so many romance (yes even the other romcom ones) animes portray teenagers.
LoveCom is just… so good for so many reasons, but Risa is the top one.
