Duncan Lawrence, 'The Poet is the Luckiest of Artists'
There is no struggling with a wayward cello on the train Or carting a large canvas through dank cornfields in the rain. No need to worry chapter sixteen has somehow been deleted Or that the woodwind section remains a long way from completed. No welding burns to speak of, hammered thumbs or calloused palms, No temperamental band mates whose bad habits raise alarms. No fearing, that the next plié…

it's been a minute since I posted anything here and I was trying to figure out What to post and decided it HAS to be these guys cause this podcast has zero fandom and so help me I will fill the uncle bertie's botanarium tag with content of them cause there's nothing anywhere and I need to subject people to this...
if you like plants and absurd british-y/kiwi comedy and jemaine clement being a bitch and studies on sexual repression and insane amounts of gay subtext you should listen to this podcast :) <3
Okay so apparently Mahmood, Netta, Daði Freyr, Cornelia Jakobs, Duncan Laurence and Sonia will indeed not be performing their own Eurovision songs but will be part of the "Liverpool Songbook" act or whatever the fuck the name of the act is called which, yeah whatever, but I'd much rather they sang their own songs... The selected acts are extremely Northwestern European too... feat. Mahmood and Netta so... Yeah...
Luckily, I still think Kalush Orchestra, Sam Ryder, Go_A, Jamala, Tina Karol and Verka Serduchka are part of a different act, I think they're all gonna perform during the opening / flag parade and it will still be their own songs.
And there's still Ruslana who will also perform but I don't think she's part of either of these two acts.
This song is the fluff and the angst of them. It shows the complication of relationship but also the longing of being together again. This song is one of my top songs for RedCrackle, because the power of how the artist sang it and how the lyrics hit me so hard every time I listen to it. I strongly recommend it to you and this ship.
Tap dancer Arthur Duncan (b. 1925) passed away earlier this year; today would have been his 98th birthday.
Duncan was known primarily for two things: he was a regular on Betty White’s variety show in 1954, making him the first African American regular on a variety series. And he was a regular on The Lawrence Welk Show from 1964 through 1982. He took a lot of heat and ribbing for the later…
Watching Disney shows as an adult, there is not a single Disney mom I do not simp for… like ladies I would like to date each and every one of you, and have you stroke my hair and tell me it will be okay
what year of eurovision do you think had the best songs? not necessarily the best grand final, your favourites of the year don't have to have qualified
previously to 2018 i only watched the final with my family so i can only count from there onwards. having said that, out of those the best one was 2021. i feel like it was extremely iconic in all levels, absolutely unmatched
