"Amar pelos dois" is such a song about ineffable husbands I'm sorry are you going to tell me you don't listen to this song and think of Crowley asking Aziraphale to come back to him??? Bffr
2004, 2007, 2008 - Rigged. Ruslana, Marija Serifovic and Dima Bilan all won because of Eastern European bloc voting
2005 - Rigged. Helena Paparizou won because of Balkan bloc voting
2006 - Lordi shouldn't win because they promote Satan worship through their music
2014 - Rigged. Conchita Wurst won because of LGBT voting / they're trying to force it down our throats
2015 - Måns shouldn't win because he's homophobic / Heroes shouldn't win because it's a copy of Descendants of the Sun (correct me if I'm wrong on this one; people were definitely saying that it was too derivative of a popular song at the time, I don't remember if that was its name)
2016 - Rigged. Jamala's win was political
2017 - Rigged. Salvador Sobral won because of his heart condition
2018 - Netta won because she was a joke entry. The contest is of poor quality / She is promoting overweight body types as the new standard (I'm not even joking, people actually said that)
2021 - Måneskin should be stripped of their title as champions because Damiano did cocaine
2022 - Rigged. Kalush Orchestra won because of the war
2023 - Rigged. Loreen won due to Sweden celebrating 50 years from their first win next year.
Can you STOP and take a moment to realize how ridiculous you all sound?
And yes, these are all things people actually said at the time, in case you don't remember or forget easily (or out of convenience)
Käärijä made history last night at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, as he gained the most points ever for a Finnish entry. He earned 526 points in total, which was 234 more points than Lordi's winning 2006 score.
Käärijä also gained the second most points ever awarded in the televote, tying with Salvador Sobral, as they both earned 376 points. They are second only to 2022's Kalush Orchestra.

Salvador Sobral - Marco Mezquida (Església de Sant Antoni Abat, Sa Pobla, Mallorca. 2023-01-22) Por José Luis Luna Rocafort [INSTANTZZ AKA Galería fotográfica AKA Fotoblog de jazz, impro… y algo más]
Actually when I saw Salvador Sobral I felt relieved because I haven't checked on him since he won and at that point he still urgently needed that heart surgery
Since 2009, the jury and televoters' pick for who should take first place has almost always been at odds. However, there have been a handful of times where the jury and the public have managed to agree on a winner.
There were only six years where this occurred:
In 2009, both groups agreed that Norway's Alexander Rybak was the clear winner; the following year the same could be said about Germany's Lena.
2012 started a three-year streak of the jury and public agreeing on a winner. Both groups agreed that Loreen, Emmelie de Forest, and Conchita Wurst should be the winners of the 2012, 2013, and 2014 contests respectively.
The last time the public and jury came to an agreement was in 2017 when Portugal's Salvador Sobral took home the win.
