I couldn't remember how to knit, and I don't think I was even knitting correctly during the brief time I did knit 10 years ago, but I had a dream last night where I was knitting almost correctly according to a tutorial I watched after waking up. I was just inserting the needle into the wrong side of the stitches. Though maybe that might be an actual method of knitting. I don't know.

I love The Isley Brothers in general, but this one in particular. For yeeeeears I heard "Atlantis" as "Atlanta," and I was a little confused how the city of Atlanta could be called "a paradise out beyond the sea," but then I figured it was just poetic license (and not that I was ignorant, which, yeah. 🙄)

I am prone to getting stuck on songs, playing them too often, making myself sick of them, then banishing them from my hearing because I hate them now! Most of them are never allowed back in my presence. They are permanently ruined.

But I've been stuck on "Menswear" since it came out and I think that was ten years ago? More? The band is definitely kind of [gestures upward at warning] but "Menswear" can stay. 🫠💖 (Also, that blouse on Matty reminds me of this Flight of the Conchords bit. 😂)

The dagen fucking what now? I don't actually know! I would have to look it up, because I don't speak Danish (and neither do the Danes). I happened on this while fucking around on TuneIn years ago. Like most of my stuff it's very old--1980s? The production screams 1980s so probably. Anyway, I just pretend it's in Simlish when it pops up.

I had a dream where I was looking at how my productivity blanket (a crochet project where I will crochet a row for each day of the year and the colour of each row depends on how productive I was/felt that day) looks so far, and wasn't happy with how the black yarn I used was way too big in comparison to the rest of the yarn. That's it. It's just the situation my productivity blanket is in in real life while I wait for hopefully-better yarn to arrive. I'm going to try Feels Like Butta from Lion Brand, and if I'm not happy with that, I'll just use Caron Simply Soft.

Barbie and the Nutcracker was too different in my dream last night. The prince was human the whole time and he, Barbie, gingerbread boy and peppermint girl went on an adventure through a forest in autumn. The prince had to wear a different outfit than usual, and I woke up hyperventilating.

Eyes are oranges

This video just caused me to remember a dream I had where my left eyeball was not attached to my brain and was instead in my hand. It was squishy like a mandarin orange, and I was scared that I would squish it too much in the process of putting it back in my socket. It also didn't look like an eye. It was just an orange.

I had a dream where I noticed that that really thin short hair above my right eyebrow was in a line going to my hairline. Then I noticed that it was actually more like normal hair. Then I noticed that there was actually a ton of really long hair in the center of my forehead. And each time there was a change, I forgot that it was different a second ago and was just like “I never noticed this before.”

I had a dream where I was eating in a fancy restaurant that had private areas with curtains. I was tasked to catch fish from a fish tank, but I couldn't find a fish tank. I thought I was supposed to buy one and place it there, but eventually I realized that there was one right there and it just blended in because it looked like a decoration. I had a fishing rod that attracted a pickle fish (it was literally a vertically sliced pickle) like a magnet, but I couldn't figure out how to attach it to the rod because it was apparently already dead. Someone was cheering me on while I tried to find a way to hook onto the fish. I eventually noticed that it had herbivore teeth to hook onto so everything was fine.

I dreamed last night that I found a guitar with a whammy bar and tried playing Steve Vai's part of Ego Death by Polyphia on it. It sounded surprisingly good considering the fact that I don't know how to play guitar. But there was a really big gap between strums because obviously that was the case when I was trying to learn guitar 2 years ago and my subconscious remembered that. It's interesting how things you don't have experience in are easy in dreams, and things you do have experience in are hard.

Last night I had a dream where I was setting my alarms before bed, but all of the alarms that were around 8 hours from then were missing. All of the alarms would go off in 44 minutes or in 1 day and 44 minutes. In the background, people from another dream that I can't remember were talking.

I had a dream on 03/18/2023 where I was throwing around a paper airplane for cats to chase and catch, when I was told not to do that because it had a material on it that made it better at flying, and I had to write something on it first. That doesn't make any sense, but I grabbed a new unfolded piece of paper and wrote "Follow TheClick@" on it. It was supposed to be some sort of pun, but I don't get it. When rereading the paper, I noticed it said something completely different. Then I was like "That's just how dreams work and this is a dream" and I just continued having a normal dream instead of going lucid! Anyway, I was about to throw the unfolded piece of paper while standing in the washroom, but then I looked in the mirror and noticed a couple of zits were bleeding a lot! Then suddenly instead of a piece of paper, I had a syringe of blood! And my new goal was to "stink up" someone's room by spraying blood all over it. So then someone was tied to a bed, and I was about to get started with spraying them with blood when my cat Princess came into my room irl and woke me up asking for pets. I love her!

Some dreams I had just now:

I had a gun, and people with guns were standing at the door threatening to kill us but not and really just waiting for me to kill them, so I killed them. I had to make sure the gun was unlocked first.

A pair of old copper scissors had a built-in lock on them (like a gun), which was pretty cool. I think they were used in a mission to kill someone.

YouTube apparently existed and had videos in 2001, and I was trying to learn more while simultaneously having to kill the creators of YouTube.

There were a bunch of moodlets in the Sims 3 that I had never seen before and seemed more like Sims 2 memories and some of them weren't even activated for this sim and shouldn't have been listed. And there were so many that the actual moodlets that I wanted to look at weren't listed. I eventually realized that there were three tabs on the top of this part of the UI; all, moodlets, and other thing. I guess I had the tab for the other thing selected so that's why I couldn't see any moodlets. Also, I think this sim killed another sim and that's why I wanted to look at their moodlets.

I had a dream last night where my mom was like "I miss when you beat people up as a teenager." Then when I said I didn't do that, my older sibling was like "wtf is wrong with your memory? You did it all the time!" I fully believed them for some reason, and was trying to figure out why I had no memory of beating people up.

Meanwhile, TommyInnit wanted to kill his girlfriend because he found her annoying. I'm pretty sure it was extremely small things that he was finding annoying too.

The night before 05/07/2023, I had I dream where I bought a pillow with a similar feel to styrofoam, and learned from a video that it might potentially be toxic to cats. I was worried because one of my cats, Toby, had already touched it, but my styrofoam pillow was from a different company than the one in the video. So I tried checking the ingredients on the packaging (basically a hair dye box) for chocolate, minoxidil, and cat-killer (which for some reason that existed in this world), but couldn’t read. So I had no way of knowing if I should take Toby to the vet or not.

@papermint-airplane tagged me into this and I'm going to suppress my awkwardness long enough to do it.

what do you have under your bed?

This fold-up fake tatami mat that I put under my futon. Also sometimes marbles or small bouncy balls from my cat because if you hide a toy, it makes it brand-new when you find it again. It is apparently also very exciting when your person vacuums them up by accident and erupts in a stream of invective.

favorite candy?

I toggle between peppermint patties and Mounds. Right now it's peppermint patties because 'tis the season blah blah.

describe your favorite shirt.

A plain V-necked, 3/4-sleeve all-cotton medium gray shirt from the ultra chic, super exclusive, boutique artisanal St. John's Bay label at JC Penney's. 😂 Idgaf. I am at baseline an un-fancy person who became even less fancy during the pandemic.

the last thing you drew/doodled was:

The floor plan of a house in a custom world that I won't name because it was a really impossible house to play in, and I drew it out so I could expand the floor plan and make an improved version.

You know those houses that look adorable from the neighborhood screen, adorable in their thumbnails, adorable from the outside--and then you get inside and there are all these 1 x 1 tile bottlenecks because the builder cared more about appearance than function? It was that.

Builds like that make me so upset, and they're everywhere. Build like that for your irl dolls, not the Sims!

are you completely sober rn?

I am, and mostly have been for the last 5 years! I make one exception on NYE, then it's back on the wagon for the rest of the year.

It's the only way to fly for someone like me, who otherwise will decide to celebrate it being Tuesday. Wouldn't Fat Tuesday be even fatter if it happened every week? And Friday, that's mandatory, you've simply got to drink Friday, plus, Thursday is a kind of pre-Friday, isn't it? Yeah, it's Friday Eve! That deffo calls for some shots. Saturday is for pre-gaming with friends, then drinking some more--you wouldn't want to be antisocial--and Sunday there's a big game on that will be way too boring to watch without beer, and--

So. Once a year, and then that once-a-year usually reminds me why once a year is enough (because I don't do moderation).

what's one thing that annoys you more than anything?

I am trying to be less annoyed by things, but I'm still annoyed by enough things that picking only one is a challenge.

But I guess my build mode rant up there fits here too so, that. Oh and hey, I know "cozy" is very in right now, but while you technically can call a 2 x 4 room a bedroom... you probably shouldn't.

have you ever gotten your tongue stuck to a cold pole during winter?

No, I've spent too much of my life in the sunbelt for that to be a thing for me.

if you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?

I know it's a cliche, but Paris. I am exactly the kind of tourist they hate--I dress terribly (see above), I butcher the language, I'm overweight, I'm basic in every respect--but I find their disdain for me absolutely adorable (and tbh somewhat justified) and my God, the food.

what was the last single word you spoke?

"Safe." I always end my goodbyes to people with "drive safe."
