it's always your crush asking "who do you like" and nobody understanding the struggle of "agar main bata doon mere dil mein kya hai toh mujhse nigaahein chura toh na loge "
if i tell you what's in my heart then i hope you won't look away from me/evade my eyes

Dev Anand & his charms
he enters the room with a gait so confident that makes them shudder; a gaze so curious that makes their hearts scorch their chests; and a smile so bewitching that they fail to conceal their simpering. when dev sahaab is on screen, with his undeniable charms and wit, one’s heart cannot help but flit. each word is tempting, layered with such enigma that peeling it with patience becomes patronising. but his voice is soothing, buoyant & teasing, aiding the heart that yearns for his company. but each time he courts a woman who stars opposite to him, it rips the aiding. his hair is always pristine, set like the dark curtains of the night while his smile is alluring like a thousand stars bejewels it. he delivers each word with a conviction which is tender but enticing, tormenting the heart further that is already his. donned in the most exquisite fabrics, he walks as sophistication emanates from each step of his stride. such was his lure that still pulls the strings of our hearts so skilfully.

That vibe, felling and emotions with this song is just another level.🌸🌻💫

nothing compares to the complexities behind the facade of simplicity in old Indian movies. you’d think their expressions are exaggerated. maybe to you, their clothes or their words are melodramatic. but the layers of emotions and artistry is so seamlessly tied in every scene that it becomes hard to distinguish. to a layman, it might seem too loud and overwhelming but those who understand the intricacies behind their body movements and contortion of features might be able to comprehend the hidden meaning
even when there was no internet to google and gather global references, these people curated and conjured feelings that were visually poetic. it’s easy to discard the efforts and mastery in the name of “mundaneness” and “slow pace” but their honey laced words, magnificent wardrobes, intense songs and compound emotions are a proof that the mainstream cinema we consume now is a disoriented version of the epitome that’s slipping away from us with each year.
