Any tips for a sexy wardrobe but not the stereotypical sorority girl wardrobe for college girls? Elegant, classy, but still fun and flirty

Focus your wardrobe on neutral basics in high-quality fabrics (Pima cotton, silk, linen, wool, cashmere, recycled leather, denim, tweed, etc.) in tailored, well-fitting silhouettes

Dress for your body shape. Understand your proportions/torso-to leg-length ratio. Find pieces that highlight your smallest part/cover up the widest part of your body

Keep at least one body part covered. The more skin you show off, the more relaxed fit pieces you should incorporate into your outfit (Examples: If you're wearing a tank top and a mini skirt, wear a higher neck and/or relaxed top if the skirt is form-fitting and vice versa; If you're wearing a low-cut, short, and sleeveless dress, choose a more forgiving/A-line silhouette)

Choose one pop of color or print per outfit. Animal print can be a neutral if it's an accessory or in a classic silhouette while paired with another neutral piece

When showing a lot of skin, try to create a three-piece outfit (e.g. a tailored cropped top, shorts, and a loose-fitting vest)

Try monochrome outfits that play with proportions and different fabrics/textures (e.g. a silk black button-down with black leather pants/jeans/tailored black shorts)

Play with fun jackets, accessories, and different trims/embellishments on otherwise simple outfits

Don't underestimate the power of a perfect-fitting black jeans, top, and leather jacket

Choose shoes with a pointed toe or square toe (creates a sleek look that elongates your frame)

Avoid ripped clothes/hems – try a spilt or embellished hem/asymmetrical hems instead

When in doubt, use a sheer fabric piece to balance out an outline (e.g. sheer sleeves, lace pants, etc.)

Purchase seamless undergarments and ones that still look classy if your clothes slip (I like lace options and neutral satin options)

Wear shorts/skirts/dresses that cover your bum (mini can be hot, but this look is trashy tbh)

When wearing a revealing outfit, consider if your body is showing off the clothes or if your body is essentially the outfit (e.g. a cool sheer lace dress with thoughtful undergarments vs. a bra-like tank and denim shorts/mini skirt)

Use belts/tailoring as needed

Trend Alert: Headphones!

Today, consumers are more connected than ever. Trends come and go as fast as water flowing through a river and CSULB students are keeping up with what is going on out there.

After the incredible introduction and popularity of wireless earbuds (Ex. Airpods), it appears that young consumers are now shifting back to the classic big headphones. Why is that? We asked students from various majors about their opinions on the matter and for the majority, it is all about the look and comfort.

Some students agree that this big shift has come from major influencers they follow. Companies like Apple and Sony, leaders on leisure audio technologies, have launched brand new wireless headphones perfect for the modern consumer. If wireless earbuds were the big thing in 2018, it is time for the wireless headphones to shine. But is everyone going wireless? NO. Interestingly enough, this new wave is coming with headphones of various brands, colors, sizes, and as you expected, WIRES. Turns out it all depends on personal preference and accessibility.

Recently, style and fashion are all about being unique and showing off your personal style. With headphones coming back into the picture, young people have found ways of incorporating them into their style and daily outfits. It is now not only about music quality for some, it all depends on your style! Walking around the hallways and courtyards of CSULB, we noticed that students tend to customize their headphones with covers, stickers, art, and anything you can think of (yes, even toys). It all depends on the student and the image they want to portray. As a junior year student said “if you want to know a little bit more about someone’s style and interests, look at their headphones!”.

I have a body with the form of an inverted triangle, with a little breast and a muscular body with longue legs and little hips. I mesure 5,7 feet or 1,70 meters.

I would recommend some v-neck, deep scoop neck, one-shoulder, or round-neck halter tops and silky button-down tops paired with A-line skirts, shorts, or skinny bootcut/flared pants & jeans. Basics like this tank or a vest top would look great. Pants like this or these jeans would be very flattering on your body type from your description above. For dresses, I recommend a fit-and-flare style with a fitted bodice and wide straps (like this) or a jumpsuit like this. Consider textured mini skirts/shorts or trousers/denim with embellishments on the leg/hem while keeping the top streamlined, open-necked, and simple.

For outerwear, try longline blazers (like this one) worn open with no shoulder pads or single-breasted trench coats or wool coats for colder climates.

Wrap-style tops, dresses, and skirts would also be very flattering on your body shape. Consider something like this.
