My favorite 9-1-1 Buck Headcanons that we have all basically accepted as unofficial canon

bobby having paperwork already filled out for when buddie happens

Hen having a betting pool organized around when buddie gets together and Athena winds up being the one who wins

HC - What if when Buck is worried about Bobby's life hanging in the balance, Tommy comforts him by saying something on the lines of:

"Captain Nash is a good, good man, Evan. He will survive, because if the universe is fair it cannot take a good man like that away from all his people so early."

And then Buck remembers the conversation he had with Bobby not too long ago, in which Bobby had said:

"Tommy is good people. He's good for you."

And the two statements just click together in place in Buck's brain. Bobby's approval of this relationship meant the world to him, and he himself knows he is already head over heels in love with Tommy.

But in this moment, seeing the way Tommy talks about Bobby and the goodness both his boyfriend and father-figure doubtlessly saw in each other, Buck comes to the realisation that he not only loves Tommy, but he also wants to marry this man someday. And he decides he is never going to let Tommy go, because he wants to spend the rest of his life with nobody else but him. Tommy is the one for him, and he is sure of it more than he has ever been about anything or anyone else in his life.

I know, I am daydreaming excessively but I think such a parallel quote from Tommy's end would be really sweet! ❤

so apparently the lafd has a day where they make breakfast for the whole neighborhood and they host an open house kind of thing and??? bobby nash would be all over this, why haven't we seen this yet?????

he would get to the station extra early and then buck would be next, even if bobby insisted he didn't have to. and they both would make... so many pancakes. like, so many.

buck would even decorate them like silly faces and bobby would roll his eyes fondly but secretly he loves it.

and then the rest of the team gets to the shift and they try to steal some of the pancakes for themselves but buck and bobby organized them neatly and made this whole deal about presentation!! and that they need to look perfect!!! and hen, ravi, chim and eddie are shooed away from the kitchen.

Bobby and Hen doesn't watch first responder/medical/crime shows (Bobby hates them because all of them seem to have an addiction storyline and he does not want to see it, Hen hates how inaccurate they are)

Chim watches them, but only the old classic ones (like ER) and Maddie watches them with her

Athena watches them with May (and sometimes Harry) and they watch the iconic ones like Criminal Minds or Bones and they compete to see who can find out the killer first

Buck and Eddie however watch all of them and actively try to do the rescues they see in them (and drive Bobby crazy). They also assign every character to a 118/firefam member

Headcanon that no-one in the A shift is straight. We have Hen who's a lesbian and Buck who is Bi. Then I headcanon Chimney as bisexual and Eddie as Bi/Pan or (repressed) Gay. Ravi is Ace/Pan. My favourite part of my headcanon is that everyone is talking about how they are all Not Straight and tease about Bobby being the token straight and he's like, who said I'm straight and they all go ?? And he just says "I've been alive longer than any of you, you don't think I've ever kissed a guy before? Experimented a little?" And while everyone just blue screens Bobby just smiles and continues to cook as usual. When asked, he tells them he doesn't use any specific labels but he's just not straight.

Athena and Bobby going shopping with Buck for something for his apartment. Buck is chattering excitedly to them about something, and then sees something that interests him across the store, so he immediately runs off.

Athena follows him, not running, saying "Evan Buckley, do not make us chase you all over this store...!"

Bobby's chuckling at the whole thing.

Then an older woman walks up to Bobby and smiles.

"You two have such a charming son!" she gushes.

"Uh..." Bobby starts, then he just smiles and goes "...thank you."

9-1-1 head canons that I fully believe in:

Buck hasn’t been back to the pier since the tsunami and still has nightmares about it

Buck unironically calls Athena ‘mom’

Eddie drunk texts the entire 118 group chat about how much he loves Buck and vice versa

After the ladder incident, Bobby often calls to check on Buck, even at night because he can’t go to sleep if he doesn’t know that his adopted son is safe

May is in charge of the 118’s Instagram page and will post the most ridiculous things and pictures of the crew

Athena and Eddie are actually pretty close

After the well incident, Eddie can’t sleep unless the lights are on because he’s scared of being alone in the dark

Hen gives the softest and warmest hugs

Maddie and Eddie call each other once a week to catch up on the drama at dispatch

Eddie and Buck have been secretly dating since 4 x 14

Harry and Denny have constant sleepovers, driving their mothers up the walls with all of their crazy ideas

Bobby changed the flooring on his and Athena’s patio after Buck’s collapse because all he could think about when he was out there, was Buck nearly dying (again)

Everyone loves Buck’s random facts even tho they never know what to expect

Chim apologized to Buck for punching him in the face (like hello why was that never a thing??)

9-1-1 episode 7x08 (spoilers???)

The way Amir is looking at Bobby like a shark that smells blood, I have a very bad feeling about 7x08.

Not to mention the title of the episode being, "Step 9" which is a reference to steps taken in Alcoholics Anonymous. Step 9 in particular, provides that, "Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others."

But I have the sickening idea that maybe Bobby is going insane the entire episode, terrified of Amir taking revenge on his family. So he does everything he possibly can to protect Athena, May & Harry. He keeps contant watch, has cameras set up all around the house and maybe even their workplaces/college.

Then, there's this moment when he finally gets home. He's smiling, and overly relieved because Athena and the kids are safe and having dinner.

Then he gets a call.

Amir's voice crackles over the line.

He chuckles, his tone light and airy despite the pure hatred and resentment he's harboured for Bobby over the course of a decade.

He says, "Oh, I understand what it's like to fear for your family's safety. To pray for their lives even when you know what the inevitable outcome is going to be. Your mistake, Bobby Nash, was thinking that I was above revenge. So now I'm going to take something from you, the same way you took my wife from me."

Abd Bobby goes, "Amir, please-"

"I'm glad you're there to keep your family safe. But you forgot one of them. And I am going to make you choose. Yourself, or the kid? It's a choice I was never given when Sadie was engulfed. You should be thankful."

Bobby's stomach drops.

"What is it they say, when you have a kid? It's like an extension of your heart, outside of your body?"

Cold, hard realization hits Bobby like a semi-truck.

"The Buckley boy isn't your blood, but he sure is the heart of your little fire family. I hope he doesn't suffer the way she did, when the flames consumed her alive."

The phone cuts off, and leaves Bobby in horrified silence as Athena frantically calls the LAPD.

just some 9-1-1 headcanons/plot bunnies

so i've kinda gone on a 9-1-1 deep dive that started out casual and rapidly turned into an obsession. a few things to note, i definitely think that buck and eddie have something (whether it's romantic or queerplatonic is up for grabs but there's something beyond friendship there and no one can convince me otherwise) and i am a strong subscriber to any tropes that strongly encourage found family/families so...make of that what you will

anyway, after binging all of the available episodes, i have several headcanons that i want to put out there (for some reason a lot of them are from season 5???)

ana realizing that there's more to eddie and buck's relationship than it seems in that scene from s5e2 when she brings christopher to the station. buck clocks that eddie has started panicking immediately and ana just like. *looks* at him for a few seconds in a way that just makes me think that this woman clocked that they have a deeper than normal connection to one another. that or she's heard about buck but obviously has never seen eddie and buck interact and is suddenly realizing exactly what people keep trying to tell her about

a buck/eddie-focused exploration of the aftermath of 'brawl in cell block 9-1-1'. buck freaking out once mitchell's been carted off to get his heart taken out and refusing to let eddie go anywhere while checking him for injuries, eddie having some uncomfortable realizations about just how affected buck was by the whole experience. personally, i feel that would lead to them actually talking about the sniper and all the mess that goes with it

lots of potential for temporary angst with eddie having a lot of big feelings about having failed as a husband in his marriage to shannon and not wanting to get married again b/c of it (thinks he doesn't deserve another shot at it? thinks there's something fundamentally wrong with him to where he can't? don't know how this would manifest exactly). personally, i see this eventually leading to him and buck realizing that they're more or less functionally married and they may as well reap some tax benefits from it but you can do whatever you want with that

buck goes to the funerals of many of the people who die on calls that he's a part of. it's mostly people that he directly worked on and he doesn't tend to tell anyone that he's a first responder that was involved (b/c of how devon's sister reacted in s1) but he does go to them.

kinda of tied to the headcanon above this but! buck getting adopted by a bunch of older queer folk following the deaths of mitchell and thomas in s2. he goes to the joint funeral that was planned for the two of them, in part b/c he wants/needs to and in part bc he accidentally took a few photos from the scrapbook from the scene (he shoved them in his pocket on instinct when thomas collapses). anyway, he shows up and the older queer community has rallied to show up at the funeral and they recognize him as someone who needs more found family and just adopt him into their ranks. i could see the 118 finding out about this soon after it happens or not until years later; maybe karen and hen finding out sooner than everyone else but buck asks them to keep it quiet?

s5e14 where jee-yun gets sick? what if it actually WAS leukemia and she somehow ends up needing some sort of donation (plasma? bone marrow? idk really anything about how cancer is treated). jee's put on a list and they start testing family members, none of whom work out until...buck. cue maddie not wanting to ask that of buck b/c of all the baggage that comes with daniel and the buckley parents are absolute assholes about it (along the lines of completely disregarding buck's autonomy as a human being in the face of their precious granddaughter being in trouble), maybe a chimney that isn't trying to be pushy about it but also just...can't help pushing a bit, a buck that so overwhelmed with everything that he's feeling that he goes off the rails a bit. obviously everything works out and buck donates or whatever needs to happen and jee-yun is completely fine b/c i don't actually want it to end badly

the entire 'buck's a sperm donor' family argument and maraget saying "you're a miracle baby yourself" made my fucking blood boil and i want to see a better exploration of the fallout of that statement b/c you just know that there was more to it than it just getting brushed off

buck telling maddie that he has a checklist that he goes through every time he wakes up post-coma in s6e12. chris and eddie being part of that list, where buck is just constantly checking up on them to make sure that they're still in LA (part of the reason why it's so easy for him to fall asleep/relax on the diaz couch or in their house in general). eddie doesn't notice the uptick in check-ins b/c he's too busy figuring out the least intrusive ways for him to check in on buck at all times b/c he NEEDS to know that buck is alive/breathing. once eddie notices though, he confronts buck about it

maddie asking buck to be her maid of honor for her wedding since hen is obviously going to have best man privileges. mostly just exploring the ridiculous that this brings up and everyone joking about buck in a dress (up to you whether he actually wears one to the wedding or not), but i have to include a side note that the buckley parents are dicks about it and have no sense of humour/fun

literally anything featuring athena being worried about buck as a maternal figure, i was so disappointed by her lack of interaction when buck was struck by lightning and, while i'm so fucking happy to have may acknowledging that buck is bobby's son too, we missed out on athena being devastated by the situation as well

there will probably be more of these to come at some point knowing myself.

This can be Buck is a driver and Eddie is his race engineer. Eddie is constantly driven on edge cause how reckless Buck's driving style is. Their first meet was anything but good cause Buck was Buck 1.0 (self-explanatory).

Or

They can fight for the championship fiercely on track but be very open with their PDA off track and they are what people call relationship goals. Before they came out, theories and shits had been wild for both fans and the press alike.

Or

Bobby is Buck team boss and always questioning all of his life choices that lead him to this point, where he has to deal with his driver’s crush on one of his fan.

(Even if what Hen, their PR manager said is non-disputable, that is a beautiful man and she likes women)

(His wife Athena is not helping either with her teasing and encouragement of Buck’s crush, but he believes that being a cop herself, she had run a very intensive background check on the said crush. Not like she will let her baby hurt)

Eddie is now living in y/n world lmao

Or

Boxer Eddie has posted some of what looks like his date on Twitter and doesn't elaborate further. F1 driver Bucky seemingly also coincidentally shares stories and posts with the same location. Fans of both form an alliance to find out what is going on with their favourite athletes.

(The main subjects are just enjoying free entertainment from the sideline)

Buck with a clipboard is equivalent to Newey with his notebook and Eddie is just going along with the madness
