Clone Force 99 arrived on Massanii in a day's time. Sneaking past the sector's own security had proven to be a serious challenge since it wasn't recorded anywhere and they were thoroughly unprepared for the sector's defense.
Echo was convinced that officer had only let them through for shits and giggles, they were no real threat to anyone, and they'd most likely be followed very closely.
There were only a few imperial escort vessels stationed in the capital city, but nothing else. The sector could handle it's security just fine.
The marauder landed about three clicks away from the town where the photos had been taken in an empty field.
They still needed a plan, Hunter had forgotten to make one in his rush to get here.
"So? What's the plan?" Echo prompted his little brothers.
Hunter opened his mouth, then closed it. He had no idea what he was doing.
"Information gathering should come first. We want to know what we're dealing with here, both in terms of the people and the Pantoran we'll be talking to." Tech said.
"More like harassing." Echo grumbled under his breath.
Hunter gave him a side glare, which he ignored.
"I'll go-"
"No." He, Tech and Wrecker said in unison, cutting the former sergeant off.
"You are not mentally stable enough to handle this." Tech stated bluntly.
"You also look horrible, you'll scare everyone off." Echo added.
"I will go instead." Tech said.
Hunter tried to interrupt but Echo just spoke over him.
"Sounds good, I'll do some digging around with the locals." He said.
Again, Hunter tried to get a word in. This time Wrecker spoke over him.
"What should I do?" He asked.
"Keep Hunter on the ship." Echo ordered.
Hunter tried to object but Echo was faster.
"Maybe make him take another nap. He needs it." He added.
"Hold on!" Hunter shouted.
Echo made a point of looking down at him.
"Hunter, you're in no shape to do any good, you look like a walking corpse." He said before his little brother could object.
Hunter scowled at him, clearly thinking about ignoring him and going out anyway, he was probably going to pull rank. Echo placed his one hand firmly on Hunter's shoulder.
"Stay here, Ori'vod's(big brother's) orders."
XXX
Freyu caught a glimpse of the trooper, at least she thought he was a trooper, his armor was very different from the typical model, that had been tailing her whenever she came to town for the last week.
The first few days they had just watched her, occasionally showing up in a different spot but mostly stationary. She had felt the eyes on her the whole time.
Then they had moved and followed her a bit more and today, they were definitely following her.
They might have been trying to be inconspicuous, but their bright armor gave them away. Still, she carried on like she was unaware of her new shadow. She was way too observant to have not noticed them.
The Empire clearly had their eye on her, aside from the obvious that her brother and mother were once Jedi, she didn't know what they wanted or why she was so interesting to them. That definitely didn't warrant stalking in her opinion.
It was especially bad today because she'd brought Omega, disguised of course, with her. She had a very bad feeling about that trooper seeing Omega.
She rounded a corner and headed back to Alask's stall where Omega was waiting for her. The trooper followed her.
Freyu stamped her irritation down and booked it to Alask.
"Someone's following me." She said quickly in Massanese before they could come into hearing range.
"Do you know why?" Alask asked.
"No, think it's some Empire bullshit." She shook her head.
"Freyu!" Omega erupted from the back fo the stall and charged at her, slamming her body into her with a hug.
"Have fun with Alask, Jicelli?" She asked.
Fear briefly flashed through Omega's warm brown eyes before she nodded.
"Yeah, I had lots of fun!" She said, voice shaking.
Freyu heard and sensed the trooper closing in on her and pretended to still be unaware, right up until they got just that bit too close for comfort.
She turned on him with her arms crossed, smirking at the surprise she could see in his goggled eyes.
"Can I help you with something?" She prompted dryly.
"I…" he briefly glanced at Omega hiding behind her.
"I have a few questions for you." He said eventually.
Freyu groaned dramatically and scrubbed her face.
"I already got interrogated, your boss said you'd leave me alone after that." Freyu said.
"Yes, well there is something they forgot." He told her.
Freyu raised an eyebrow at his blatant lie. He wasn't a trooper, he was more likely a very bad bounty hunter. She gave his mind a subtle suggestion of confusion.
"Really? Where's the warrant?" She asked.
He froze for a second.
"Can't make me do anything without one of those." She said.
He glanced at Omega again, Freyu glared at him.
"You're talking to me, remember?" She reminded him.
He glanced at her with narrowed eyes.
"What is your name?" He asked.
"Go ask your boss." She snapped.
The man glowered down at her, she glared right back and tapped her foot irritably.
"Are you done? Gonna leave me alone yet?" She asked after a moment.
He didn't give her any response. It didn't even look like he was looking at her, his eyes flicked around slightly. He must've had some sort of H.U.D. in his helmet, so he was scanning her at the moment, she cocked her head at an angle that covered part of her tattoos. If he was going to scan her, she wasn't going to make it easy.
"If you aren't about to fuck off, then tell me what you really want." She said.
The man glanced away from whatever display he was looking at and frowned.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Doesn't matter, fuck off." She ordered.
"The Empire-"
"Like I'm buying that, if you really worked for the Empire, you'd know my name." She cut him off.
"What? Do I look like someone who takes chances like that to you?" She asked, gesturing to the scarred side of her face.
"Now, if that's all, I've got to get going. I'm a very busy person." She said, waving him off dismissively.
"C'mon Jicelli, time to go home." She told Omega.
She put a guiding hand on the younger girl's shoulder as they started to walk away.
"Bye Alask, see you around." She waved to her friend.
She shot a glare over her shoulder at the man staring after them. She had a bad feeling about him.
"I don't wanna come to town for a while." Omega whispered to her once they were out of earshot.
"I think that's for the best." Freyu agreed.
XXX
Tech returned to the marauder hungry and frustrated with his lack of results over the past week. The most important thing he had learned was that the Pantoran was hyper vigilant and she was very wary of strangers.
He had tried running a scan on the markings she and the younger girl shared, seeing as they were family it could have given him something to work off of, but she had moved and concealed too much of it to be useful.
It seemed she was a very intelligent, cautious, and possibly paranoid, person.
With the context of the tattoo over her eye, she likely had good reason to be. Old Pantoran tattoos with simple slashes across the face were often done to symbolize betrayal.
As interesting as that was, he still had no leads on who she was and if the girl with her was his vod'ika.
Hunter won't be pleased. He sighed.
He could hear the argument before he opened up the hatch.
Echo and Hunter couldn't do anything else these days.
Hunter whipped towards him as he came in.
"Report." Hunter demanded.
"Nothing." Tech said shortly.
Echo groaned and threw his hands up, leaving the cockpit.
"Nothing? You have been out there for a week and you've learned nothing?" Hunter asked darkly.
Tech made a point of checking his mostly blank datapad before meeting Hunter's angry gaze.
"I did learn something, that Pantoran is smart and cautious. I am fairly certain that she will not be bringing the child with her for her next visit." Tech stated.
"Is that better?" He asked dryly.
He went around Hunter to the bunks so he could grab something to eat and go to sleep for a week.
Echo was in his hammock with his arm over his face.
"I don't suppose you learned anything useful?" Tech prompted his brother once he sat down to eat.
"She's a doctor of some kind, didn't really get much other than that. The locals trusted me about as much as she trusted you." Echo sighed.
"This is going to be difficult." He groaned.
"Really? I thought that much was obvious." Tech smirked at his older brother's glare.
XXX
Freyu sat across from Omega, legs crossed and hands resting on her knees.
They were meditating, it helped soothe Omega after a stressful event. She could sense the tension in Omega from their little run in earlier today.
Meditation was something she had started doing with her brother when he was around. He had said it would help her focus and it kinda worked. She had mostly used it as a way to check on Maatsu when he wasn't home.
She had stopped after he died since her mind would instinctively search for someone she couldn't find anymore. She had been a bit more regular with it lately but she was still training herself out of searching for Maatsu.
It was certainly helping Omega, and helping her understanding of Omega's condition.
Freyu didn't think her initial diagnosis of dissociative amnesia was correct anymore. She hadn't had much information at the time, so it was an easy enough mistake to make, but after almost four months of Omega living with her, it seemed a lot more like memory repression.
The memories were still there, somewhere locked off in her mind, they came to the surface in a confusing mess that was extremely difficult to make any sense of, but they were still there.
She hadn't ever had any real interest or reason to look into Omega's repressed memories, even when she started acting strange. Though her quick healing was certainly odd, she didn't need to find an explanation for it.
Until today.
The run in with that clone or bounty hunter or whatever was unsettling. The way he kept trying to get a look at Omega, it gave her a very bad feeling. He wasn't the first bounty hunter to go after Omega, she needed to know why so she could make a decision on what to do next.
She needed to get into Omega's head without triggering her, and she couldn't tell Omega exactly what she was doing. With the Empire and bounty hunters watching them, it was dangerous to reveal herself.
Though Omega probably suspected something was odd about her, she clearly knew when not to ask questions.
"Next time you go to Mlikix, can I stay home?" Omega's quiet voice broke through her thoughts.
Freyu smiled and nodded.
"Of course, if that's what you want." She said.
She felt Omega's tension melt away. While at the same time a stubborn nugget of some emotion remained.
"Thanks." Omega said softly.
"It's not a problem at all, Meg'ika." Freyu said.
XXX
Freyu didn't go to sleep when she put Omega to bed. She had far too much to do.
First on her nightly to-do list was to check the ammunition stocks hidden in various places around the house, and make sure the weapons stored with them still worked. They hadn't been checked or cleaned in a couple of years, so she should probably give each a quick cleaning.
She also had to check the security system and the house's defenses. Tesi had been managing them the last seven years, she could probably tap the droid to give the system a bit of a boost and a warning for intruders.
And once all that was done, she needed to make notes of what she had seen poking around in Omega's head today.
Then of course she had to train and stay on top of her orders. She could take a nap sometime before Omega woke up.
Freyu nodded to herself and went about her busy night.
She wasn't going to be caught with her guard down this time.
XXX
Freyu checked her surrounding before she stepped out into the street. That clone bounty hunter guy wasn't here today, she was safe enough right now.
She'd thought about telling the Empire about it's misbehaving troops, but she decided against it, she didn't want any more attention from them than she already had.
She crossed the street to Cai's shop. Someone in the family was always there, and she could easily contact him through it. And he was probably working somewhere nearby.
Eppur was sitting at the desk, he was definitely the type for the more in door side of work, but all of them took turns, Massii couldn't stand to be inside for too long.
"Freyu." Eppur eyed her with narrowed eyes.
"What have you gotten yourself into that you come here to contact us and not the ranch house?" Eppur asked, straight to the point as always.
"I'm being followed by someone, I don't know why." Freyu explained quickly.
She hadn't gone to their ranch because she didn't want to drag them any further into a possible mess than she had too. If someone was really stalking her, it was best for her to be discreet about everything.
"Would you like to borrow one of our birds?" Eppur prompted.
"If he's comfortable with that, I would greatly appreciate it." Freyu nodded.
"I'll let him know, head on back to pick a bird." Eppur told her.
Freyu quickly slipped behind the counter into the back room. There were a few birds of prey, but that wasn't the true purpose of this room.
She waited in the bird room until Cai came in through the back door.
"What do you need?" Cai asked.
"I need eyes, ears and information."
XXX
Freyu left the shop with a basket of the family's products, including a new blanket for Omega from Xillyn, xir first professional blanket.
She spotted something out of place immediately.
A human disguised as a droid. It was a decent disguise, though it wouldn't work on any species that could smell or sense what was really in there.
She got that same gut feeling she got with that bounty hunter impersonating a trooper from him.
He spotted her and started walking her way. Freyu headed towards the market, both for the safety in numbers there and to gather some things she needed for a surprise. She picked up her pace, but he caught up with her quickly.
She cursed her height.
"May I have a word?" The stranger asked politely.
Freyu rolled her eyes and kept walking.
"Have two, Fuck off." She snarled.
“I really do need to talk to you.” He said.
She whirled around, vibroblade in hand, and faced him.
He wisely didn't get any closer and actually took a step back.
“I don't know what your deal is with me and my sister, but you better fuck off before I really get pissed.” She growled.
“I'm just trying to talk.” He insisted, putting his hands up in defense.
Freyu glared at him. He may have only been talking but she knew the other wanted something from her.
“Tell your buddy to come out.” She ordered.
He hesitated a moment before motioning for his companion, the same guy who had been stalking her, to come out. The companion moved slowly and carefully, afraid of setting her off even more.
“Whatever you want here, you won't get it. Whoever you think my sister is, she's not. And I would be greatly appreciative if I didn't have to kill anyone, I just polished my blades and I don't want to deal with the bodies right now.” She said.
The disguised man lowered his hands and glanced at his companion. His companion gave him some signs, Freyu glowered at the pair.
“I'll do my best to convince them, I can't make any promises. I am very sorry for the inconveniences we've caused you.” He said.
“I won't poison you then.” Freyu said.
She sheathed her blade and continued down her path towards the market, catching the pair's confusion as she left.
“Did she say poison?”
“Yes. I did say she makes medicine, she must work with toxic healing plants.”
“That sure is good to know.”
She made a mental note to poison her blades for her next trip into town, just to be safe.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
I finally got them all on the same planet! It only took 15 chapters but I did it!This is where the fun begins alright!I'm so excited to be at this point in the story!
I realized Omega's situation is definitely more memory repression than any type of amnesia, so it's actually memory repression that she has, I'm still gonna use the name amnesia because that's what this is always called and in all my files it's amnesia and that's too many to change.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!

Here's our fill for the square "Amnesia". :)
Since getting Crosshair back on Bracca, the Bad Batch have been laying low on Ord Mantell until they’re unexpectedly attacked by a familiar face from the past, someone long thought dead. But he’s not himself, and the only way to get back the brother Echo knew may be to turn him, too, so he’s a vampire like they are. It’s time for the coven to come back together.

Not Defective Just Deviant
Tumblr media
Summary: You lived a ‘normal’ life for the past 21 years, you had a system and coping mechanism for everything. You thought this was all your life would be until your death.
Pairing: Tech x reader, isekai AU
Warnings: Mutual pining, fluff, violence, amnesia, reader written as female coded.
Error Code: 99................
Initiating regeneration............
~Flashback~
You fell hitting a hard metal floor, the cold surface instantly soothing your face. You look up slightly to see five men in strange armor staring and pointing guns? at you. “Who are you?” The man wearing a red bandana questioned. “WOAH, I’m Y/n. Who are you guys?” You attempt to push yourself back.
“We ask the questions, where did you come from?” The largest of the men yells. “I don’t know, I don’t know where I am” You say panicked by the situation. “You are on our ship, are you an imperial spy?” The pale man with head gear cocks his ‘gun’ at you. “I don’t know what that is, I just woke up here. Please just don’t shoot” You spoke fast trying to reason the best you could.
~End Flashback~
It has been two months since you showed up on the marauder and after concluding this wasn’t some extremely vivid dream you called this your isekai. Adjusting to your new life was going to take a bit. The clones had to consult the Jedi council to determine what would happen with you, when chancellor Palpatine decided to get involved.
You were tested on your skills.
You didn’t know how you knew any of the things that you were tested on. Tech summarized your skills in his data pad which included sufficient in combat and medical practice, as well as having a nack for technology specifically to do with ships. To you they must have been something you worked on constantly, your muscle memory kicking in since you couldn’t read the language written. Eventually you were tasked with joining Clone Force 99 after an agreement was made with the Kaminoan’s, which Crosshair had so put it as the republic not wanting to deal with you.
The Bad Batch were rerouted to Kaller as reinforcements, a young Jedi padawan named Caleb lead the way. Hunter and Tech created a plan of attack as Caleb returned to his Master. Soon you all were in the middle of the battlefield fighting clankers. “Hey clanker, catch” Tech threw a deactivation device at the droid. You often thought Tech’s fighting strategies were amusing. You shutdown the rest of the tanks, before they could be reset Wrecker pushes them off the cliff.
Walking with the clones over to the Jedi master, Tech types away on his data pad. “That took a little longer than expected to shutdown those tanks.” You frowned taking it as a failure. “You did satisfactory considering it was your first time dealing with such a task during battle” Tech reassures you.
Everything happens so quickly the Jedi master was killed by the regs and Caleb takes off. “Wrecker delay anyone who tries to follow” Hunter instructs Wrecker over coms. Hunter and Crosshair run off into the woods. Tech, Echo and you were approached by a group of regs. “Is she a Jedi?” One of them asks referring to you. “No she is a soldier like us” Echo steps forward protectively. Tech presented the regs with the details of your case that was documented by the Kaminoan’s.
“As you can clearly see Y/n is classed as a soldier like and has shown no such traits to indicate she is a-” Tech was cut off mid sentence like usual. “Whatever defect, just say no” They reluctantly let you be. You had only heard that word used for the boys once. Originally thinking is was a joke the same way you referred to yourself as the Batcher’s stowaway. “Jerk” You mumble under your breath. “I thought we are supposed to be on the Jedi’s side” You mentioned quietly. Tech and Echo returned your confusion.
Since being with the boys you noticed that you never stayed in one place for very long, always moving around on new missions. Kamino was the only place that was not visited since you appeared, but that’s where you find Tech piloting the ship. The boys were somewhat excited to show you around Kamino, they new that the Kaminoan’s had set up a bed for you in their barracks. At least you would be able to sleep in a proper bed instead of the hammock that you made on the Marauder.
Tech landed the ship on the platform, this whole planet felt unsettling, you weren’t sure whether it was the storm or the mass amounts of water with unstable looking structures. Tech gave you a briefing on the planet which seemed to settle your nerves. Noticing that his voice tends to sooth you, you don’t mind his info dumps.
“Shock troopers, what’s the Coruscant guard doing here”. You stop looking around when you hear Hunter’s concerning question followed by voice over a mic.
Level five lockdown remains in effect. Security teams, report to the command center.
“This isn’t a drill” Tech turns to the group. “Oh, man. What did we miss now?” Wrecker upset about missing the action as usual. “The end of the war”                 “Say again, trooper” Hunter talks to the shock trooper about the separatists fall.  The body of a Jedi was carried under a sheet, their lightsaber falling on the floor. The shock trooper picked it up turning back to us. No doubt you all had confused looks on your faces. “Is there a problem?” The shock trooper you assumed was trying to intimidate Hunter. He didn’t want to do anything just yet and responded to keep out of trouble.
Heading to the barracks Hunter discusses the change of the clones demeaner. “It’s not just the clones on Kaller, all the regs are acting strange” He points out. “Lets test that theory” Tech moves towards a group of regs. “ Excuse me, trooper. What division are you from?” The trooper shoves Tech away. “Step aside” He growls. Tech looks back at them as they keep walking. “Oh, well they seem the same to me”. Lama Su and Taun We approach. You had only spoken to them through a holo when the decision for your placement was made. “Y/n we would like you to join us for a discussion.” You didn’t feel right about any of this and you could tell your squadron didn’t either. “What is this discussion regarding?” Tech stepped up. “This shall not concern your squad at this time. Y/n this way” Lama Su brushes off Tech’s concern. You look back at the boys before following the Kaminoan’s.
You were mentally drained after your ‘discussion’ with the Kaminoan’s, they had talked to you about your memories while running some medical scans. You had explained that you had amnesia walls preventing you from finding out more and that only glimpses of your life would come to you rarely, often not making any sense. Taun We gave you a dose of her new serum during the scan, you felt numb almost paralyzed. You remember her voice very clearly. “This won’t take long”. Followed by sharp pains through your head and down your neck. Taun We’s new scanner was to retrieve your memories ordered by the new empire. Lama Su was displeased with the results when they arrived back from the meeting. They couldn’t scan you any longer without the risk of damage to you further. A red mark on both of your temples was prominent almost like you had been resting your head in your hands too long.
You walked along the halls attempting to focus on the map Tech had conjured on your data pad. “Y/n” you heard Wreckers voice boom from behind you, the change in volume only fueling your headache. You turn to the boys putting your data pad away. “What did I miss?” you ask. Tech glances at your temples, he hums curiously, but fills you in on the meeting without prying.
You all head to the ‘Mess Hall’ as the boys called it. “Galactic Empire? We’re soldiers of the Republic” Echo exclaims still confused by it all, you don’t blame him. “Republic, Empire... What’s the difference?” Crosshair doesn’t seem to care about the change. Tech looks over to Crosshair. “The systematic termination of the Jedi is a big one for me” His way of pointing out the difference to Crosshair.
Hunter stops holding his hand up for us to holt. “Lads we’ve got company” turning around there was a young girl staring back. “Hello” She waves.
“What’s that?” Wrecker says loudly. You chuckle to yourself at his expression. “Adolescent human female. Origins... uncertain” Tech informs after scanning her. “My names Omega. I was wondering when you guys would come back”. Hunter steps towards her. “You know who we are?”
“Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, Y/n and Crosshair. You’re Clone Force 99.” She exclaims. “What are you doing on Kamino kid?” Hunter asks. Before Omega could say anything the Kaminoan Nala Se steps in. “Her job”. You flinch at the sound of her voice. Your reaction not going unnoticed by Tech as he glances your way, but is instantly pulled back by the words of Nala Se. “She is my medical assistant, one with a curious mind that causes her to wander. Come Omega. There is work to do” She says guiding Omega with her. “This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder” Hunter turns to start walking again.
Tech gets you something to eat based on his data indications of your favored food, as it is all still new to you especially Kamino. You sit next to Echo and try to blend in while the boys talked. You weren’t paying attention to the conversation until Wrecker stood up. “Clones being programmed. Nothing controls me.”        “Wrecker, it is a logical conclusion that your affinity for destruction would stem from your conditioning.” Tech always analyzes things from a logical stand point. Wrecker doesn’t take this information well. “You take that back!” He growls at Tech. To which Tech tries to reason with him again. “I am merely stating a scientific hypothesis based on factual data”. Wrecker gets riled up.                     “ Oh, well I got a fact for you. I like to blow things up because I LIKE TO BLOW THINGS UP. Got it?” He slams his hands on the table, drawing the attention of all the regs. You sink down in your seat trying to avoid the eyes on your table. The rest of your squad seemed use to it. Tech sighs as Hunter takes a seat. “Well I’m convinced” Crosshair remarks.
“An Imperial’s been sent to evaluate the clones. Everybody’s talking about it” Hunter takes a bite of his food. Echo pipes up. “What kind of evaluation?”.  It was Tech’s turn to give his input. “Hopefully not mental. Clearly we’d never pass that.” You frown at the thought of them not passing an evaluation even though the kaminoan’s were the ones that made them this way. The whole day was making you angry.
“Hello, again” The young girl Omega from earlier sat down next to Hunter. You watched as all the boys stare at her with confusion all over their features. Did they forget her? “Omega. From earlier?” There was no response and she frowns. “In the corridor?” Omega tries to elaborate. “Yeah, kid. We remember. Don’t you have someplace to be?” Hunter questioned. “No. I’ll stay” She adds. Tech leans over with a surprised look. “You want to sit with us? That’s never happened before”. You made a quiet sound of disapproval at the thought of your squad being surprised someone wants to be around them. You found them to be quite pleasant and often fun to be around, you started to think of them as your family. “I like you. You don’t fit in around here either”. Omega explains.
“Check it out. The defect squad’s got themselves a new recruit. Another member added to the Sad Batch” One of the regs chuckles with his friends. That angered you more. You hated that description for them. Omega gets on the table and throws her food at the reg. “Who threw that?” He growls angrily. “I did. Now apologize to my friends” She shoots back. “I like this kid” Wrecker hits Echo’s chest plate boisterously.  “What did you say to me” The reg approached pointing at Omega. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Back off. I suggest you keep moving” Hunter tries to calm everyone down. The reg looks at Omega to which Wrecker stands up behind her eyeing them down. The reg scoffs “Know your place, lab scrabber” They turn and walk away. You sigh happy a fight didn’t break out, but then you see Wrecker throw a tray off food out of the corner of your eye.
The reg grunts turning back to your squad. Wrecker picked up yours and Echo’s trays and had them in hand. “Oops” He says sarcastically. Echo stands up next to you ready for the fight that Wrecker is now bringing on. “That’s it” The reg yells as other clone get up from their seats. “Oh, yeah” Wrecker throws the rest of the trays at that same reg. The clones come forward to fight, Hunter punches him and ducks avoiding the punch from another. Echo rubs his hand over his face. “Oh, not again.” He sighs.  AGAIN. With the way Wrecker is, you kind of aren’t surprised that he has started fights before. Echo jumps behind you to join the fight. You didn’t even see when Tech joined. Wrecker jumps from the table on top of three regs. You jump up now not wanting to leave your squad alone in this fight especially with the unfair ratio. You use Omega’s tray to knock out a clone that was going for her. “How dare you try to hit a kid” You yelled. Echo punches a clone before getting kicked onto the table knocking over Crosshair’s food. Echo gets back up jumping off the table to have another swing. You run over to his side of the fight to help. Tech runs taking a swing at a clone only for the reg to catch his fist and gut punch him hard enough for Tech to double over. “HEY!” You shouted at the clone as Crosshair Frisbee's his tray knocking two clones over in one throw. You now having a vendetta against this clone tackle him punching his face over and over before one of his buddies grabs you holding as you thrash against him for that clone to start beating you. Wrecker picks up the clone having a field day on you and throws them, Tech knocks out the clone holding you and you fell to the ground. You were already exhausted from earlier and this fight was definitely not going to help. Tech leans in to help you up. Tech panics switching to Echo’s direction. “Echo watch out” Echo was knocked out. You ran over body slamming the clone as Tech checks on Echo.
The fight was broken up by the Kaminoan’s and their security droids. All the clone’s that could, stood to attention. You turned back to the clone making your last hit count, you knock him out cold. You were pulled off him by a droid. Everyone was ordered out and the injured were taken to the medical wing. You join your squad, Crosshair and Wrecker not having a scratch on them, Tech and Hunter had bruising on their faces. You having a bloodied nose, split lip and two cuts on you cheek. Tech does a scan on you and insists he patch you up. “No we need to check on Echo. He’s hurt because I distracted you Tech. You could have been helping him but I slipped up, I shouldn’t have made that mistake” You walk off to the medical wing with the boys following you.
When you got the medical bay Echo was in he was already awake and Omega was next to him. “Ha! Told you he’s alive! You owe me two credits” Wrecker points to Crosshair.
“Hello I am AZI-345211896246498721347, I am CT-1409′s assigned medical droid.” You push past the droid. “His name is Echo, he isn’t a number” You growl. “Are you okay Echo?” You ask concerned about your squad mate. He sighs “Yeah, I’ll live. You look horrible” He says gesturing to your injuries. You smirk slightly. “Thanks” AZI exams you and babbles about your injuries. “I don’t need any help thanks” You brush off the droid. AZI floats up to the rest of your squad. “I have some disturbing news for the rest of you. According to your test results, you all appear to be genetically defective clones”. Your face scrunches at that description. What is it with this place. “I’m sick of that word” You mumble. The boys look at you. “Hey Droid, they aren’t defects and they aren’t numbers”.  “I am AZI-3452-” You cut AZI off. “If you want me to call you by your name then I suggest you start using theirs. Echo, Tech, Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair. Got it?” you point at the droid. “Affirmative” AZI leaves the med-bay. “That’s the most I’ve heard her speak” Omega says to Hunter. You just sigh crossing your arms and hiding in the corner. You couldn’t stand to let them be treated like this, it was driving you insane.
“We’ve got a problem” Echo says getting up. “Not really. We’re more deviant than we are defective.” Tech says glancing at you, to which you were giving him the side eye about that word. “Not that. Admiral Tarkin’s here. He’s the one evaluating the clones.” You notice that Echo has had a run in with this guy before. You are pulled back into the conversation by Echo. “And he’s not a big supporter of clones”. Hunter explains that they have been summoned by the Prime Minister, most likely to be reprimanded for the fight.
Heading to the Prime Minister some shock troopers redirect the squad to the training facility under orders of Admiral Tarkin. He wanted to see more of the boys in action. You were told to sit out. “Y/n is a part of this squad to” Wrecker mentions to them. “She isn’t a clone, she is not doing the simulation” The shock trooper argues. “Well then you can’t give me orders, we will leave that to the Prime Minister” You remark.
The boys had to gear up and get ready for the simulation, you on the other hand were ordered by the Prime Minister and the imperial to watch. After your protests were ignored, you had no choice.
You watched as the boys completed the simulation with ease, you quietly cheered them on earning an annoyed look from the imperial officer. “The Galactic Empire needs to be stronger than the Republic and it’s soldiers need to follow suit. Switch to live fire” The imperial glanced at you with a smirk. Your eyes widen. He can’t do that, they don’t even have sufficient weapons. “I must protest, live rounds can damage my clones and will damage my facility”. You hope that is enough for Lama Su to convince him against that decision. “You will be fairly compensated for the damage, now do it” He orders and you see the Kaminoan’s setting it up. “NO YOU CAN’T!” You yell at Tarkin. “I will do whatever I deem necessary” He smiles menacingly. You see Wrecker get shot, you slam your fist against the glass before shoving the imperial out of the way. You ran as fast as you could to the entrance of the training facility. You preformed a basic override of the system like Tech had taught you, but admittedly Tech will always be faster at this. This allowed you access inside. Soon as you were inside you ran to the boys to help. You hadn’t had a chance to get any weapons. You could see that Tech was down and in the open.
“Tech! Hold tight, buddy” Wrecker calls to him. “I’m...not going anywhere” Tech tries to get up but it was not use. You run taking your pack off and jump slamming it into the head of the droid aiming at Tech. “Cover me, I’ll get Tech” you call to the boys sprinting towards Tech. You manage to drag him to cover. “You were ordered to sit this one out” Tech looks at you perplexed. “Nice to see you too. We can talk about my affinity for disregarding orders later”. You duck out of cover to grab Tech’s forgotten Blaster. You blast some droids. You hear Crosshair call to Wrecker for his knife, once thrown Crosshair shoots it into the droids head ending the simulation. You sigh in relief then check Tech over. He stiffens at your gentle touch. He must be in pain. The boys help Tech to his feet. You look up to where the imperial was, he turns away leaving the facility.
When you get to the barracks Wrecker expresses his extreme displeasure in the event. “THEY USED LIVE ROUNDS ON US”. Throwing his helmet. Crosshair didn’t seem to care about the event that took place. “There is a fundamental difference between taking fire in battle and being used for target practice” Tech informs him. “We’re not dummy droids” Wrecker says loudly. “We agree on that” The imperial interrupts standing in the doorway. The boys stand at attention but you refuse enraged by his presence. He explains that there is a mission he wants the boys to go on to prove there loyalty to the Empire. You were once again ordered to sit out. “No way, not after what you pulled last time”. Tarkin has one of the shock troopers put you in your place. The trooper pinning you against the wall roughly. “It’s not up for debate, I hope you realize disobeying orders can be considered treason against the Empire and you know the punishment for treason” He tries to intimidate you. You fight the urge to be sarcastic. You let the boys go and they tell you not to worry and they would be back soon.
You stare off as the boys get their gear, Tech comes up beside you. “We have done this a multitude of times, there is no need to worry”. You give him a soft nod. You were fighting a battle in your head between your growing interest in the intellectual man of the group and trying to remember your life. You weren’t thinking rationally and you have been acting out, realizing now that with this new Empire it was dangerous. Tech was ready to leave turning to the ship. “Wait!” you said a little louder than intended. The goggle wearing clone looks back. “What is it?” He asks concern on his face. You didn’t think your actions through and hugged him tightly. Realizing what you did you had to play it off. “Please be careful, I care about you...guys” You add the last part as quick as you could, but still convinced he picked up on it. You were kicking yourself for slipping up twice in a row. He gently hugs you back before you let go. “I always intend for us to remain cautious on missions” He joins the rest of the batch. As you turn away you could hear Crosshair make a comment on your moment with Tech.
“Y/n we have the results on your memory and how we can help you further.” You flinch at Taun We’s voice. “O-oh umm... That’s good to hear. So what’s my life story?” You ask. “You will need to come with me, I will show you the results.” She says with her mellow and eerie voice. You were reluctant to follow but concluding that your first interaction with the scanner night have been a misunderstanding and it was needed to help. In the back of your mind you still had a mistrust.
You had followed her to the medical wing and into the room where you see the scanner again and the serum on table the dosage pre-drawn. You stop in your tracks. “I thought you had the results already?” You attempt to step back. Two shock troopers behind you push you forward preventing your exit. “Only a small amount of your memory was retrieved.” She admits. Tarkin steps in from the side, you hadn’t noticed him until now. “We don’t have the information needed to determine the likelihood of you becoming a threat to the Empire” He says in his annoying voice. “What does that mean, I’m a soldier to. I was ordered to fight with Clone Force 99 by Palpatine. Why would I be a threat?” Tarkin only ignores your reasoning. “After reviewing your results, I didn’t want to risk keeping you alive. Your kind have proven to be quite the troublemakers for the Empire. Alas the Emperor has plans for you and we must ensure your loyalty. Begin the scan” He orders. Taun We getting the needle. “No!” You elbow one of the troopers in the head and kick the other trying to get out of here but there were other troopers outside that you didn’t account for. You were knocked back and restrained. You struggled against them until you felt the sensation of the needle in the side of your neck. Your body was numb, you were laid on the table and the scanner was activated.
When the pain finally stopped you were too weak to move. “What are you doing, we don’t have what we need” You could faintly hear Tarkin arguing with the kaminoan’s. “We can not continue further today, her body can’t handle over-exposure. We may continue tomorrow”. You roll to your side trying to get up to no avail. Tarkin orders the shock troopers to escort you to the prison bay. They pull you to your feet. Tarkin lifts your face to look at him. “We will make a obedient soldier out of you” He smirks. I’m sick of this douchebag. You think to yourself as you headbutt him hard enough for your vision to blur. The other trooper helps him up. “You know what to do with her” He says holding his no doubt broken nose. The troopers took you to the prison bay where they went to town on you beating you senseless, they lock you in the confinements.
The next morning the troopers collect for another round of scanning, you don’t fight against them, you needed to save your strength. Tensing up as the Kaminoan sticks you with the serum and activates the scanner.
You were thankful when the scan was over, the troopers pull you up and drag you to the prison bay once again. Opening the door you see your squad and Omega. They are taking Crosshair out, one of the troopers gut punching Hunter. “HEY!” You yell at the Trooper fighting against the two holding you. You use all your strength to pull yourself away from them. You lean against one to kick the other. “Again” The trooper manning the controls groans and helps his fellow clones to restrain you. “I guess you didn’t learn your lesson after all” He sounded almost surprised. He punched you. “Don’t touch her” Tech growls at them angrily. “And what are you going to do about it, defect” He punches you again causing you to fall to your knees. You catch your breath. “Don’t call him that” You were still on about that, you will forever defend your point of view on it.
You knew they wanted to humiliate you in front of your squad beating you almost unconscious before throwing you into the cell. Tech kneeling down next to you helping you sit up. “You are going to regret that” Echo warns the trooper.
“We need to get out of here” You rasp. “Let us deal with that, for now just rest” Tech says letting you rest your head on his shoulder, his scent is intoxicating soothing you like a natural painkiller. Tarkin comes in to talk with the guards, black under his eyes and a strip across the bridge of his nose. Proud of your handy work. “Heh... nice shiner Admiral” You joke. He only glares at you and leaves. Omega catching on to your remark. “Did you do that?” She asks. The boys snap their heads to look at you waiting for the answer. “Don’t look at me like that... he deserved it”. “Oh good job Y/n” Wrecker was proud.
Tech figures a way out, while he searches for the spot wrecker needs to punch Echo leans you against himself for support as you all form a wall to cover Wrecker. After a few close calls he made a pocket for Omega to crawl through. She fell down on top of the troopers and ran for the switch just making it in time. Wrecker knocks out the guards. Tech helps you along as you all make your escape, Omega pointing out that their stuff would be in the hangar with their ship.
Making it to the hangar you all grab your stuff to load it up. Tech works on getting the ship up and running, you decide to get as much of Tech’s stuff onboard as you can before going for yours. Hunter makes the comment about needing to find Crosshair, Omega points out that she found him when the doors open revealing him with a squadron of troopers ready to gun you all down. Soon a fight breaks out when Hunter disagrees to join the Empire. Wrecker was shot, Crosshair using him as bait for the rest of you. Tech got the ship online which was our chance to go. Hunter covers you while you help Echo with getting Wrecker this switched when Hunter and Omega needed cover. Omega took a blaster and shot Crosshair’s rifle from his hands allowing you all time to get on the ship.
Tech and Echo insist on patching injuries gesturing to your bloodied face, cuts and bruises littering your skin. “Do Wrecker first, he’s the one who got shot.” You point out. They agree and start on Wrecker. He protests constantly making it hard for Tech. You watch as Omega distracts him with his Lula. He gasps “You found my Lula. Ouch. Get that away from me”. Omega laughs.
You curl up in the co-pilot seat closing your eyes thinking to yourself. You replay your retrieved memories in your head. “How are you holding up?” You flinch at Hunter’s sudden presence. You are well aware of Hunter’s check ins with his team-mates, he is a natural leader. “I’m...” You sigh not able to find the words. “Take the time you need, you don’t have to go into it right now. We are here when you are ready” Hunter places a gentle hand on your shoulder. You nod thankful you aren’t forced to open up.
Tech walks in with medical supplies to patch you up. You watch Tech intently, studying his features as he cleans your wounds. You liked watching him at work.
Tech sat down piloting to a planet Hunter recommended, they knew someone that could help us lay low. You stare off into the hyperspace as did Omega. It truly was a sight to behold.

The Scarlet Prince pt. 2
Demoman/Soldier Royalty AU, Magic, Amnesia
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
General Jane Doe of Cerulea can’t shake his past, and on a visit to the neighboring kingdom of Scarland, it comes back to haunt him in dangerous way. Who is this mysterious Scarlet Prince, and what is his interest in Jane?
“Where’s Blutarch?” Jane demanded, ignoring Marcel’s ‘you’re embarrassing me’ sigh behind him.
The stranger smiled congenially. “His Majesty’s indisposed. I’ve been helping with his latest batch of illness, and he asked me to step in for him this time around.”
Jane folded his arms. It was an arm-folding sort of morning. Awaking anywhere but his old and battered war tent could set it off—no bruises from the previous day’s battle, no fight to come that would put him in a better mood—and they were happening more frequently these days. Months now of a goose-feather bed in the castle, instead of the hard packed earth that could lull him to sleep as if it were his own mother. It was enough to drive a General crazy.
“Ludwig helps Blutarch with the not-dying machine,” Jane said.
“Ludwig’s been abroad for a while now, partner.”
A side eye cast to the physician’s chair showed it empty. It was a mix of black magic and ‘science’ that kept His Powerful and Glorious Majesty alive (neither of which Jane trusted), and although he didn’t like (or again, trust) the madman who kept it all spinning, he was at least a known constant. This stranger, this man who’d come to the meeting in place of the king as the rest of Blutarch’s ministers settled around the grand oak table, he itched something at the back of Jane’s mind. Like the others. A rot that had seeped into his fellow Ceruleans, the sloth to lie down while past slights were forgotten.
“D’ya mind if we start the meeting?”
Jane did mind. He minded very much until he could get a full military-grade integration for this stumpy little man, with his shiny hand made of gold that swirled with impossible gears that any sane person could tell you was bad news. But he could feel Marcel’s glare on the back of his neck, and decided it would be best to take a seat. There’d always be later.
That’s what he thought at least, until Dell—that was his name, after being reminded for the fourth time, damn hippies naming their children after water features—started spewing treason. Jane wouldn’t let that stand, not without a word in edgewise.
“We will not be attending this disgrace to the concept of ‘party’!” Jane slammed his open palm on the table. “We will not even entertain the notion! We will not entertain their entertainment!”
“It is not merely a party.” Even with his head rolled against the back of his chair, Marcel’s ever-present mask could not be seen beneath. “It is a celebration of our achievements.”
“Our achievement of rolling over on our backs for the first time in over a hundred years. Grab the confetti poppers and party hats boys, we have successfully groveled our way to licking Scarlet bootleather.” Jane stood, pointing at each of the men around the table, the traitors who had brokered this ‘peace’ while Jane had been out on the front lines, fighting for their freedom. More chairs were empty since he’d last fully sat on the council, more than just Ludwig. “I am aware exactly what kind of celebration this is, and that is why I am telling you it’s all crap .”
“What were we bloody supposed to do?” Mundy growled. “You were chewing up pikers faster than we could send ‘em. It wasn’t sustainable.”
“I’ll show you sustainable, you reverse-flushing kangaroo-humping son of a-”
“Enough.” Marcel’s hand reached up and dragged back Jane’s shoulder, which he allowed with a snarl. “The decision was made. We can not show weakness now, and failing to attend would reveal the divisions I’m sure we’d all rather keep to ourselves. Jane and I will go to the masquerade.”
Jane noted his careful phrasing, and hated to admit he was right. The only thing worse than being seen as conciliatory would be being seen as divided—that would certainly invite the sort of attack Jane knew he couldn’t fight.
“We need this to work out, General,” that overly-cheery voice of Dell’s prompted again. “Hell, we’ve been fighting on and off for the last century-”
“Rather it be on- ”
“-and we’re tired,” Dell finished. “Folks want to go home. Recover.”
“Those who beat their swords into plowshares end up doing the plowing for those who kept their swords,” Jane muttered darkly. “Sun Tzu said that. His last words. They were never able to take him from his battlefield.”
No one paid him any mind. The decision had been made, after all. Without him, like so many decisions these days.
Marcel trailed him as he left the meeting. Jane shot the assassin a glare. “Why didn’t you tell me we were being sent on a mission?”
“I tried. Repeatedly. You dodge meetings the way the wind dodges arrows.”
“I hate those things.”
“Meetings or arrows?”
“Meetings.”
“Really? I hadn’t noticed.”
“Who does that egghead think he is, anyway? Taking over Ludwig’s spot…he could be poisoning the king for all we know!”
“I severely doubt that.” Marcel breathed smoke out his nose. He often did that, even without pipe in hand, though only when it was just he and Jane. “Though, his ascendancy to Blutarch’s side was…quick. Keep an eye on him.”
“Hard to keep an eye when we’re halfway across the continent.”
Jane reached his destination, the thick oaken door where the castle’s highest tower connected to the rest of the palace. He began to beat his fist against it rhythmically.
“What are we doing here?” Marcel asked of this display.
“If we’re leaving the country I need to talk to Merasmus. There will be battle, mark my words, and we’ll want his strongest potions.”
“Merasmus is also abroad, remember? He has been for the past month.”
“What? Ridiculous! That sopping old woman never leaves his tower.” Jane renewed his attack on the door with vigor. “MERASMUS! OPEN UP! I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE YOU USELESS PISS WIZARD!”
Marcel was able to refill his pipe three times before Jane finally grew bored of this activity. The door was locked—which wasn’t strange—but a faint odor of brimstone was coming the seams—which was. When he pressed his ear against it he could have sworn he heard faint giggling, but could ascertain no more.
“Things really are changing around here,” he said softly to the door.
“Indeed. Which is why I think it best if we were not within the castle’s walls in the coming weeks.”
Jane frowned.
“Do not pout at me.”
“I am not pouting! If I am not needed turning Scarlet maggots into itty bitty chunks, the least I can do is stay here. Close to Blutarch. Protecting him or whatever.”
“Come now amigo,” Marcel said. “Surely there are better things out there than running around this same castle day in and day out.”
Jane folded his arms. “The BEST things in life are the PEOPLE you love, the PLACES you have been, and the MEMORIES you have made.”
“…”
“Sun Tzu said that-”
“-He did not .”
“Fine,” Jane spat. “Lets go pack for this cheese-faced party. The sooner we leave, the sooner we get back.”
*
The masquerade was in full swing, and Tavish hated every minute of it.
From the crystal champagne flutes, to the toasts of their victory, pats on the back as everyone rubbernecked and sniffed their own farts. It made him sick, which he tried to wash down several goblets of mead, then tried even harder as his mother chewed out his ‘churlish behavior’.
When he’d finally ducked night’s never-ending string of suitable brides, he was very much ready to thumb the eye of the king, his mother, and the scarlet aristocracy as well.
Step one: ruffle some feathers.
He spied the Cerulean General through the thick fog of partygoers, red and blue alike, with other foreign dignitaries thrown in the mix, all openly curious if this rumored truce would pan out. The flowing gowns and capes of Ambery fashions clogged the pathways, surpassed in ostentatiousness only by the gemstones protruding from every Chartreuse belt. Even a few austere delegates from Graystan were in attendance; each one Tavish glimpsed looking uniquely uncomfortable, as though the mere concept of ‘party’ was foreign to them. But this General…he could have given the Grays a run for their money with how oddly he stuck out, his metal helm glistening hawkishly among the bows and frills. A black sheep if Tavish ever saw one. A preceded reputation, to the point that there was a good several feet of space around him, even in a Grand Ball packed like sardines. Tavish wouldn’t have known him except by that distinctive helm—it was said that he lead every battled from the front lines, a terror and a death sentence if you ever had the misfortune to meet him face-to-face. Tavish had obsessed over the man when he was younger, back when he still had fantasies about being allowed to fight in the war. Those had, at first, been cautiously dissuaded. Then they were dashed more firmly on a day that still left a flare of shame when he recalled it; being sixteen running to the very edges of the grounds, rubbing hot tears as he hid in the old wooden fort made of twigs. He managed to escape for a day in total before he was found, and the fort knocked down for good. He spent the whole time swearing he could still hear laughter in the breeze, the shadows of children he no longer knew darting between every trunk.
The sole heir to the House of DeGroot could not be wasted in battle, after all. Couldn’t be lost to a careless alchemy accident either, like the ones that had pruned so many other extraneous branches of the family tree. No, he was to be tucked safely away—even more so Da could no longer protest the treatment—and wait until it was his time to be used as a pawn to advance his family’s position.
That hadn’t kept him from stolen nights in his father’s old lab though, or days training with the ancient blade that under no circumstances could Mum find out he had.
He no longer felt the resentment toward the General that he had in his youth. It hadn’t been the same one who’d led the raid that’d killed Da, after all, who’d cost Tavish one father and one best friend on that blistering summer’s day. That was years before the current General’s time and, if the rumors were true, he’d supposedly killed his predecessor in a duel. Such things didn’t fly in Scarland, but Ceruleans were savages through and through. What better way than to ruffle his countrymen than by chatting one up?
“I’d stay away from servers if I were you,” Tavish greeted with one elbow on the nearest raised plant pot and grinning when the General jumped at his sudden appearance. “One of the wine bowls has a crack in it, and they’re desperate enough to do something barmy.”
“What? Who are you? Where did you come from? What do punch bowls have to do with anything?” The General barked off each question in rapid succession.
Tavish shrugged nonchalantly. “Just keep a hand on that helm of yours. It’d make a perfect replacement.”
Although the edge of silver concealed much of what the mask did not, Tavish could just see a set of eyes narrow within its shadow. “You’re mocking me.”
“Nothing of the sort!” Tavish grinned.
Instead of replying, those eyes glanced away, distinctly falling on the good six feet of distance the crowd had allotted him. It was as though he were poison, was an affront to their very sensibilities. He seemed perfectly willing to let Tavish return to that category.
“Er, well maybe a little,” Tavish coughed quickly, having already scuttled what he thought was going to be a smooth opening. “Sorry, thought that might get a laugh.”
“For you maybe. When your country’s favorite form of entertainment is pelting the stocks with tomatoes, what you consider a ‘joke’ is of no interest to me.”
Tavish flinched. Bit more honesty than he was used to. That, and he wasn’t expecting the enemy General to be so…sharp. “No, really, I didn’t mean anything by it. Let me try again, aye? My name’s Tavish, and nothing’d make me happier than if you were having a better time than you look like you’re having.”
If there was any recognition to Tavish’s name, the General betrayed none of it. He eyed Tavish again, reevaluating, then cautiously said, “Doe.”
“Ray, a drop of golden sun?”
“What?”
“Er, sorry, ‘nother bad joke.”
It was hard to keep his composure, the General so different from what Tavish had imagined. He was younger for one, and—though it was difficult to tell for sure—he was actually rather handsome where the mask couldn’t obscure it.
“Why are you bothering me, Scarlet?”
“If I’m really bothering you, I can go.”
“Just answer the damn question.”
Tavish eyed over the helm again, the blue plume stuck in its top, the way it had been cleaned again and again, no doubt to free it from the blood sprayed in battle. “You killed the last Cerulean General, didn’t you? In a duel?”
Doe stilled. “So they tell me.”
“What does that mean? You don’t know?”
Doe’s eyes grew stormy again, though this time they looked past Tavish and into the bobbing heads beyond. “I am reasonably confident that is what happened.”
“Ah, then good,” Tavish nodded. “He killed my Da, you know.”
“Half the people in this room have killed someone’s relation on the other half. Me included, sonny. This is where the whole farce shows its cracks, where everyone has to stand and face war and what she brings, look into your enemies eyes and understand that you are past the point of forgiveness.”
“You don’t believe in the truce?”
Doe threw back his head and laughed, that sound Tavish had aimed so high for to begin with. When he again lowered his chin, he was grinning.
“Look at me, son.” He spread his arms. “I am every man this truce was meant to destroy.” Still he smiled, the words dripping with viciousness. “You kill a lot of Ceruleans, Tavish?”
This was not a man who would care about tact, about smooth introductions and polite assurances. “I wanted to, when I was younger.” Honesty is what would matter. “But I was never allowed.”
“Heh, better for us.”
“…I still trained though,” Tavish added, a secret so guarded and yet he found it slipping out to this stranger who gleamed like a drop of silver sun.
Doe’s interest was immediate, a prick of the breath, a dilation in the pupils that set Tavish’s own pulse quickening. “What kind of formations?”
“Claymore.”
“Mmm. Good for standing behind the pikemen. Useless if cavalry get through, but necessary for meeting the other side’s heavy infantry. Ends in a lot of single combat, sword to sword. The purest form of war.”
There was something beyond reverence in his voice. Craving maybe.
“You’ve dueled using two-handers then?” Tavish asked, his mouth dry, standing closer than he had been before.
“I have mastered every weapon under the sun, son. Could kick your ass with each and every one.”
Tavish leaned in, his own mask of black lacquer concealing his missing eye, shielding him from the rest of the room until only Doe was in his vision. He whispered, “I’ll take that challenge, laddie.”
If there had been hesitation, just a hint of it, Tavish would have retreated in on himself for fear of an inter-kingdom crisis. But to Doe’s credit, there wasn’t a whiff. “When and where, cupcake?” His smile was full of teeth.
“There’s no one in the garden this time o’ night. Too busy dancing.”
“Show’s they don’t know how to have real fun.”
They were down on the grounds before the hour was out. The hedge mazes clawed at the sky, but Tavish knew the paths well enough to find a spot of manicured gravel that would not begrudge them a moment of heavy foot traffic.
Tavish drew the Eyelander. It was meant to be a ceremonial sword that was slung across his fancy dress uniform, but what his mother didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her.The tailor had been precise and painfully traditional: with the sword came a black cape to ‘conceal’, and a matching knee-length kilt. The rest was far too many gold-patterned sashes for Tavish’s taste, and a broach of red iron since Endless Voice forbid they ever forgo national pride for a moment.
Doe idly examined the claymore Tavish had presented him with. It was Tavish’s spare, tucked in the concealed chest under the hedges, as it wasn’t hard to hide weapons out here in the gardens. The claymore now glittered in the moonlight as Doe held it aloft, its edges kept well honed by Tavish’s hand.
Tavish, of course, used his personal weapon.
Lineage and legend had passed the Eyelander down from hand to hand until it had reached Tavish’s calloused ones. Supposedly it had powers untold, but the only magic Tavish had been able to wrestle from the blasted thing was a supernaturally sharp edge that never seemed to need sharpening. Now, as the most deadly man in the Cerulean army leveled his sword at Tavish’s chest, he almost wished he had something better in his back pocket. He nudged the thought away. He hadn’t goaded the man just for a practice bout; and indeed, there were no protectors on either of their blades. This was as real as they came.
Doe cocked his head. “Savor what you can. Sweetness in victory, Scarlet.”
“As to you, Cerulean.”
The General pounced.
Tavish brought up his blade, and the resounding clang dove straight through his arms and into his soul. His stance had expected it but his ears had not, and as one foot made a half circle in the gravel to bring ‘round his own sword, he could barely process how loud it was. Beating against stolen training dummies could never prepare him for the raw force of meeting steel swung in direct opposition, parallel angles of pure force.
It also couldn’t prepare him for a partner.
Doe had barely completed his first strike before he was sliding off Tavish’s parry, swinging again with sword’s full force. He’d run the formations again and again, watching the training yard and replicating them later here in privacy, but as he was forced into a full step sideways he realized he’d never be able to match experience. The resentment he’d thought he’d let go of reared again, hissing at the base of his skull in abject jealousy. He’d been kept from this. He’d been kept from facing men like this.
And what a man he was. There was a raw physicality to it, their dance that was so different from those happening in the palace above. The air was cool, but Doe took a step back, throwing off his jacket while barely touching the buttons. The doublet underneath was sky blue, almost silvery, clinging to his skin as sweat built on them both.
The numbness in his arms would have been welcome in his throat, where Tavish’s breath suddenly caught.
The reprieve was brief. Again Doe came at him, and already their positions had reversed entirely, ending on the exact opposite sides of their makeshift arena. It went on like that, egregiously long, Tavish’s stamina waning as sweat poured down the back of his neck and into the horrid mess of finery and sashes his mother had spent so long having him stuffed in. The pompous excuse for a kilt restricted his movements, his stances horrid, his defense barely held in check. They fought not like knights with armor to take a glancing blow, nor like trainees who knew a blow would be painful but not mortal; they were their own brand of whirlwind. Something else entirely. To win was not the goal, no high ground, no dirty tricks. Even as Tavish thought it, he felt the disarm coming in slow motion, and could do nothing to stop it.
They were within each other’s effective range, testing their strength with their noses inches apart, when Doe’s hilt came down on his wrists. The Eyelander went spinning, flecks of gray in its wake, and Doe took the opportunity of Tavish’s smarting arms to elbow him in the stomach. Tavish staggered to his knees.
Doe took a step back, and Tavish felt something cold and metal under his chin. It was no debate to let it be lifted and meet eyes with the victor.
“...Not...bad,” the General panted. "For a maggot who's never fought a day in his life, not damn bad."
Tavish could barely feel his fingers, still humming with the vibrations of steel. Panic swelled as he suddenly realized how thoroughly his life was in the other man’s hands; there was no one who had known where they had gone, no one to assume he’d done something so stupid as to fight the commander of the Curealan army in a duel to the death. It would be so easy to spill his blood across the garden’s earth.
He shivered when the blade moved upwards, but all it did was slip into his blind spot. With a flick, Doe flipped the mask off his face.
The sword lowered. “Almost wish you were on our side. Could have done something amazing with you.”
A line on his cheek stung, and Tavish raised his hand to feel blood welling warm between his fingers. That was all. Doe was exhausted too, and that dulled the shame a bit as his words sunk in. A high compliment. Maybe the highest Tavish had ever received.
The hand that helped him up drew him in close before he was fully on his feet, bringing them nose to nose again, chest to chest, the afterfight gasps for breath falling so close to one another. That smile was so close to him now, the manic one Doe had never lost through the entire battle, but there was a hunger in them too.
“I hate all this damn ceremony,” Doe admitted, gesturing to the discarded mask. “The frills, the pageantry. You should know your enemy’s face.”
“That so?” Tavish’s heart was thrummed from more than just the battle.
The dare those eyes gave him was all the answer he needed.
He reached up, and did the same for the General. His hand came away holding the small fabric thing, his body moving closer to bring their unmarred faces together-
Only to find himself rearing back instead.
“Jane?” he gasped.
Those eyes, those beautifully familiar eyes that had never stopped haunting him, widened in shock. “What? How did you-? I did not tell you my name.”
Endless Voice, how had he not recognized those eyes before? Yes they were different, aged and changed and more, but it was still Jane. After all these years…
“Jane,” the words came sputtering from his mouth without his consent. “Jane you’re alive, you- you don’t recognize me? I-it’s me, it’s Tav.”
Jane took a step back.
Tavish followed him forward. He’d thought about nothing but Jane for decades, rejecting when everyone told him that his only friend was dead, killed in the invasion. The idea that Jane had been lost or captured was such a slim hope, yet still he’d done so, never believing Jane had ended a corpse at the bottom of the river.
But still, even he could never have imagined that Jane wouldn’t care about coming home.
Tavish kept advancing. “How could you not-? We- when we were kids we used to play down on the red banks, during the summer when we weren’t allowed near the wilds, and we built towers in the trees-”
Jane’s eyes snapped open wide. “No, no you do not get to be inside my dreams!”
“Dreams? I didn’t-”
“I, ahrg-” Jane clutched his head. “Stay away from me, Scarlet! I am warning you, I-”
He hissed another gasp of pain. Then, his backpedals turned into a full-blown sprint, and he tore away into the night.
“Jane! Jane wait-!” Tavish moved to run after him, but his foot caught on something, tripping over the Eyelander and sprawling face first into the gravel.
When he lifted his eye, Jane, the one person he’d been looking for so long, was once again gone.

AU Name: We Happy Neighbors
AU DESCRIPTION: A crossover AU between Welcome Home and the game We Happy Few
AU INSPO: We Happy Few
WARNINGS: Dark Themes, Death, Drugs, Alcohol Abuse, Needles, Horror
__________________________________________________________________
AU INFORMATION: Set in the 1960's, the neighborhood has gone into a state of disrepair. Buildings are run down, trash litters the streets, plants are wilted and dead. Oddly enough, the neighbors all seem just fine, smiles on their faces without a care in the world.
You awoke one day in a very unfamiliar place, a dreary and worn-down neighborhood filled with colorful yet creepy puppet residents. Unable to remember where you came from or how you got there, you attempt to ask around for help when you are suddenly surrounded by the residents who inform you that you are off your "joy" and that "you're sick and need help".
Managing to get away mostly unscathed (except for a large cut on your arm), you hide out in what appears to be an abandoned building. To your surprise, you are confronted by two residents of the neighborhood. Once you realize they aren't hostile and they realize that you aren't on "joy", they introduce themselves as Frank and Julie as well as explain what has been going on in their "perfect" neighborhood.
From them you learn that you are not only the first new resident in years, you are also the first person to enter the neighborhood since the incident began. Julie and Frank then ask for your help in their plan to find out how this all started, stop it, and return things to normal. Will you help them, or will you try and escape?
TERMS AND DEFINITIONS:
Wellie: The civilized neighbors of the neighborhood. They are "proper" citizens of Home who take their Joy daily without any trouble. Due to their regular and heavy use of Joy, the Wellies spend the entirety of their lives in a drug-induced state of euphoria, seeing the world as bright, vibrant, and colorful.
Downer: The name given to anyone who can but choose not to take Joy.
Wastrel: Wastrels are Wellies who have reacted badly to a bad batch of one of the currently available flavors of Joy, causing a permeant inability to take Joy at all. They currently reside on the outskirts of the neighborhood in the more rundown areas.
Joy: The name of a series of psychoactive drugs used by the residents of the neighborhood in order to forget bad memories and stay happy. The drug was created by Home to keep the neighborhood "perfect". It is usually administered in a candy form (Three types: Chocolates, Suckers, and Gummies) but can be given forcefully by needle. It is also in the water supply, so it is very hard to avoid ingesting.
Joy Doctor: They work primarily for Home and are responsible for supplying Joy in various forms to the population of the neighborhood.
Bobby: "Bobby" is British slang for policeman and thus, they are the law enforcement of the neighborhood. Officially, they all work for Home, acting as the neighborhoods primary armed force.
Extras:
The Effects of Joy: Shrunken Pupils, Amnesia, Sounds that are normally unpleasant become amusing (Residents will laugh when hit, screaming sounds like singing, whistles sound like party horns, ect.)
The Effects of Withdrawl: Sadness, Depression, makes the user see everything as colorless, dark, dreary and gloomy while all sounds become distorted and begin to sound menacing.
Joy Poisoning (Only Effects Frank and Y/N): If either of them take any amount of Joy, it will cause sickness such as vomiting, increased hunger, and dehydration.
To negate these effects, they must find bottles of "Howdy's Magic Health Tonic" WHILE the Joy is still in their system, otherwise they'll be poisoned regardless.
The Effects of Overdose (according to the We Happy Few wiki):
If someone takes too much Joy, the psychoactive effects of the drug are amplified, causing the user's worldview to become even more distorted, making them happy to the point of ecstasy.
This causes them to develop such severe amnesia that they cannot carry out most basic everyday tasks.
If one overdoses on Joy, the sky will be full of curved rainbows and flower motifs while the world will become almost cartoonishly colorful and vibrant, bordering on the comical. The voices of other neighbors will be high pitched, and a strange music will play from seemingly nowhere.
(Effects added by myself)
In addition to amnesia and loss of basic skills, their aggression is shot from 1 to 100, not able to differentiate friend from foe, their world so distorted and strange that they can't trust what they see.
Those off Joy appear darker and more sinister in this state, and not having much control over themselves, the only thing they think to do is attack. And because again they aren't in control, they often don't know when to stop, often going to brutal lengths that include tearing their victims apart even after death has occurred.
__________________________________________________________________
Characters and Roles/Information:
Wally-
ROLE: Joy Doctor
Wally is one of the main Joy Doctors of "Home", working and living directly within Home to administer Joy to each and every resident of the neighborhood. He is often seen patrolling the streets, looking out for anyone who may step out of line. He usually gives out Joy in candy form (which is what most residents consume) but he won't hesitate to use more...forceful methods. After all, a happy neighborhood is a perfect neighborhood. He can be seen walking around after dark as well, but if he sees you, he will give you a verbal warning. Try not to get caught too many times because he will attack. While Wally prefers to attack hands on, he also has a bone-saw that he can attack with.
If all else fails or he sees you trying to escape, a black liquid will begin to spill from his mouth, and you have about ten seconds to run before things turn deadly. This is the presence of Home seeping out of him, and Home does not take kindly to those who try and ruin its perfect neighborhood. This goop will turn into a large black hand that will try and grab you.  Stay out of reach of this or you will most definitely meet your doom.
Wally's mask, unlike the other residents', never comes off. This is because it is sewn to his face. The only instance that it may loosen is when Home is seeping out, which then again will come from under the mask. If the mask is removed, you will see that Wally's mouth is permanently sewn shut, though you won't live to tell the tale as Wally will most definitely turn hostile.
He has never been seen off Joy, and it's likely he was the first to receive it, especially in its experimental states. Wally gets very unsettled and paranoid when seeing someone off their Joy and become aggressive if said individual refuses to take it.
Barnaby-
ROLE: Bobby
Barnaby is the second neighbor Home appointed as a Bobby, feeling that he'd make a great guard dog, of sorts anyway. He is normally seen with Wally, the two very good at catching and "fixing" unruly neighbors. Barnaby doesn't carry a weapon, but this doesn't make him any less dangerous. Instead of using any sort of melee item, he will attack with his teeth and claws, being able to tear through one's body with ease. He has torn limbs from bodies before, and he'll most likely do it again.
Julie has made the mistake of trying to reason with him, and almost lost her arm in the process, but was able to stitch herself back together. Barnaby doesn't seem to recall this event, however. Since then, she avoids him, especially if he is patrolling with Wally, as the two make a dangerous team.
He can usually be found (when not patrolling) hanging around the neighborhoods bar doing his standup routine, though not many people watch it, but is anyone going to really tell him? His once playful humor has turned sick and dark, making anyone who listens uneasy.
While he visually isn't the best at telling if someone is off Joy, he can smell it better than anyone else, usually able to smell through fake substitutes of Joy. If hostile, Barnaby will chase you down, and he can run pretty fast and for a while, so your best bet is to either try and outrun him or stun him.
Eddie:
ROLE: Bobby
Eddie was first appointed as a Bobby by Home, feeling that his physique was perfect for patrolling and "correcting" any misbehaving neighbors. Though he's a Bobby, Eddie is less hostile when it comes to having to correct neighbors, conflict not really being in his nature. While he is less likely to attack, it doesn't mean that he won't become hostile towards Downers or anyone breaking the rules. He will give verbal warnings and try to talk things out first, but if pushed he will snap and will attack physically.
He still lives in the Post Office, but since no one really sends mail anymore, (as no one outside the neighborhood is allowed to send anything in, and the neighbors see each other on a daily anyway), the Post Office is practically unused. Eddie is happily married to Frank, seeming happier than normal when around him, even on Joy. Because he cares so much about Frank, he is internally conflicted when he can sense that Frank hasn't been taking his Joy, trying not to bring it up or confront him about it, struggling inside against the effects of Joy and the influence of Home. Despite this, Eddie eventually turns on Frank, causing Frank to leave for his own safety. Once gone, Eddie experiences loneliness for the first time, but this doesn't last long, as he's simply upped his dosage of joy, which can lead to some...dangerous effects.
If he must attack, Eddie will hold back while he can, his true nature still shining through, but with the extra dose of Joy, he will become more aggressive as time goes on. Under his uniform is a crude pump that will pump Joy directly into his heart, shooting it through his veins whenever his heart rate spikes, often leading to overdoses when talking to anyone off Joy. If Eddie overdosed on Joy is ever encountered, then it is not a good idea to approach him, as he is more likely to attack as he is more violent in this state. Like Howdy, he hits hard, so being on the receiving end of an attack isn't advised.
Sally-
ROLE: Wellie
Sally is the neighborhoods brightest star! She is a well-known theater performer, her job being to make sure everyone is in good spirits at all times. (Just make sure you don't ever say anything negative about her performance, or you just might find yourself becoming part of her more dangerous acts, most often leading in fatality). Her motto? "Just keep smiling!" Even before Joy began to be administered, Sally had always been one of the happiest neighbors in the neighborhood (behind Julie), so the amount of Joy she gets is lower than that of most neighbors. This means that the withdraws would be less severe for her if she were to ever stop taking it.
Sally is one of the least likely to get hostile, but like all Wellies doesn't take too well to downers or things being less than perfect. She demands absolute perfection and can get hostile if things are out of place. Her weapon of choice is a cricket bat which she can swing surprisingly fast and hard. You can usually find her hanging around the theater, and if she isn't there, she's preforming in the streets for anyone who wants to stop by and chat.
Poppy-
ROLE: Crier
Poppy is the neighborhood mother, making sure everything is good and everyone is happy. She used to run the local bakery, but she has run out of ingredients to bake with. This doesn't stop her though. It is ill advised to eat any of her treats, as running out of fresh ingredients has caused her to use more...unsavory items. (Rats, bugs, trash, other neighbors, ect.) Eating anything she makes will most likely make you very sick.
While Poppy will never attack anyone, she will still cry out and alert to Downers or anyone causing trouble, so it is best if you avoid her at all costs, especially if you are no longer taking Joy.
Howdy-
ROLE: Wellie
Howdy used to run the town's bodega, but now that there isn't any real food, he doesn't sell much of anything anymore, as everyone just eats whatever they can scrounge up. (There are rumors that there is a case of canned fruit hidden under the floorboards, but no one has been able to find it.) He still lives there of course, and just because he doesn't sell anything doesn't mean its a good idea to steal as he will turn hostile if he catches you. Most of the time he won't pay you any mind, even greeting you if you enter his store.
If hostile, Howdy is extremely dangerous, wielding a lead pipe as his weapon. His extra limbs means he can get a good hold on you if you let him. He is one of the larger neighbors, meaning that even a state of starving, he still hits hard. When not hostile, he can be very helpful, carrying items in his store that are helpful when it comes to survival. Julie used to go there, but Howdy is getting better at sensing if someone is on Joy or not, as their bodies give off pheromones his antennas can sense, so she goes less as not to get in a conformation or a fight.
Home-
ROLE: Unknown
Not much is known about Home's origins, simply being in the neighborhood along with Wally as some of the first residents.
It is responsible for the creation of Joy, having tested each attempt on Wally until he perfected it. Of course, Wally was used as a vessel to distribute it along with the masks each resident wears. Soon, the neighborhood was perfect, though in reality, it was far from it.
Buildings were run down and decrepit, many neighbors were starving and sick, everything was filthy with rats and bugs almost everywhere. Many neighbors perished, so in an attempt to save what neighbors were left and keep control, Joy was created. While Home's intentions seem pure, there's more than meets the eye, something more sinister lying beneath the surface.
Frank-
ROLE: Downer
Frank worked as a librarian in the neighborhood, editing books and destroying anything that would be considered "inappropriate" topics or subjects for the neighbors to read (Death, War, Sadness, Sickness, ect.). One day, while doing said job, he got a paper cut. Frank had never been hurt before, so this feeling was new and strange to him. He looked down at his finger, his vision flickering a bit. He was seeing...blood? He had only ever read about blood when editing books, so he was both confused and intrigued. In a split-second decision, Frank decides not to take his Joy, revealing to him just how things really were. The neighborhood is in ruin, everything is falling apart and everyone is starving. The "food" everyone had been eating? Trash (among other disgusting things). Even his own house if falling apart.
He begins to question his life, and what his life was like before. He also can't help but question his marriage to Eddie. Was he actually happy, or was it just a lie as well? Distressed, he begins looking for answers, but he must law low and pretend things are okay as not to arouse suspicion. Little does he know that he isn't the only one who has begun to dig into the deep, dark secrets of their "perfect" neighborhood.
Julie-
ROLE: Downer
Julie was the first to find out that the neighborhood wasn't what it seemed as the effects of Joy slowly stopped working on her, becoming immune. In an attempt to keep herself under the radar, Julie used her vast knowledge of plants to make her own version of Joy. This version allows her to seem under the effects of Joy to other Wellies as well as giving off the familiar sweet smell that someone on Joy has. Though it works against Wellies, the effects don't last as long as real Joy, so it needs to be taken more often. It doesn't fool Joy Doctors and doesn't work on Barnaby. As Joy Doctors work close with Joy on a daily basis, they are able to see through fake substitutes, so Julie stays far away from them.
For the longest time, Julie is the only Downer in hiding, as most other Downers have either "disappeared" or made it out and become wastrels, that is, until she finds out about Frank, saving him from almost being captured when he's questioned by Barnaby.
Thrilled that she's found someone else in hiding like her, Julie decides it's time to try and make a plan to free everyone from under Home's influence and the effects of Joy. It's definitely a dangerous plan, but it will be worth it, right

I've been looking at some species-swap art recently, and it's given me yet another idea for a Clone Wars AU. I promise this one's got more of a 'that makes sense' feel to it than most of my other more transformative ideas.
Ahem.
The Kaminoans are nothing if not perfectionists. They perfected cloning past what it was originally intended for, the survival of their planet/species, and made it into something commercialized and profitable.
Secrets of the trade are kept well locked up, and only an exclusive few know of their "illustrious services", and no one provides quite the customized service that they do.
Customized in what way, you may ask?
Very simple...
The Kaminoans design and engineer clones that are based around a single genetic template, but who adapt specifically to a buyer's species.
More under the cut!
---
This ability is something that is locked up originally, as to keep uniformity while the clones are in training. But, upon deployment, they are given an order that unlocks the full capacity of their adaptability (You could maybe even link this block and special order to the inhibitor chips).
At first no one really notices anything unusual. They just assume the battalions will stay looking like Jango Fett for the entirety of their lives (sans a bit of self-discovery and expression of the self through tattoos and haircuts here and there). But then, gradually, each battalion hones in on their Jedi and seem to start assimilating a few of their characteristics. This is most noticeable in battalion with non-human Jedi generals.
The clones know, of course, so preparations are to be had when they note what kind of sentient they'll be working with. The kitting department will always be very busy on that front, and for the most part they don't mind because they enjoy watching the Shinies blossoming into their new selves.
The 104th's helmets all have anti-ox filters installed for when they start slowly but surely becoming Kel Dor. They rarely remove their buckets once the change takes hold.
The 327th shone with pride when they started getting speckles of vibrant color indicative of their soon to be transition into Twi'leks. Bly was the very first to start growing in his lekku.
The 501st and 212th had a bet going on over which of the two battalions would stay fully human the longest, but eventually both began to assimilate Togruti aspects when Ahsoka became Anakin's Padawan. The first thing to change was the appearance of markings on their skin. Rex's pride over having jaigeyes as markings almost made the pain of growing in montrals worth it.
Not every clone transitions fully into one given species, however. It depends entirely on how much exposure they get to different species that they actively work with. They are engineered to mirror attributes that will benefit them in both their social situation and survival odds.
As such, clones who spend less time with any given alien species remain mostly human with just a few varied non-human aspects just barely showing through (the beginnings of lek, montrals or Togruti markings, speckles of distinct twi'lek skin color, slightly elongated skulls, scales, patches of fur, etc...). These little differences are celebrated, especially among Shinies who consider it a mark of pride.
Others, like the Coruscant Guard, are so surrounded by a variety of species that they go through a lot of changes, becoming something hybridized and ultimately seen as a bastardization of sentient beings. Their armour serves the dual purpose of protection and means to hide their "atrocious" appearance from the public.
There's a lot more to this idea, like how the clones are subconsciously very selective of what they mirror (None of them have any aspects they associate with what they consider the enemy), and how to some clones these changes are shameful because they don't really feel like their body is their own.
Currently I can't think of the words to do this any justice right now. But I definitely want to play around with this idea in writing...

Bad Batch Amnesia AU Masterpost
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Freyu got to Mlikix very early in the morning, the sun hadn't even risen yet but she wasn't worried. She hadn't been bothered since giving her threat five days earlier, and the town would still have enough people around that she felt safe. And Cai would provide what she had requested.
Besides, it was a good day. It was a really great day.
Four months ago today, she had found Omega.
Tesi had been encouraging her to do something for it, a third of a year spent living with someone wasn't nothing. She had relented eventually and was now in town to pick up what she had gotten for Omega.
It was sorta like a birthday? They could call the original date she was found her birthday since they would likely never know when the date actually was, and that seemed appropriate, but waiting another eight months was way too long. She could ask what Omega thought of it too before making anything “official”.
Besides, Omega had been upset lately. Freyu could sense the churning emotions she was hiding, she wasn't going to force the answer out. This little celebration should cheer her up.
Freyu hadn't really celebrated anything in years, Maatsu was the one who liked to celebrate all those traditions and holidays. She hadn't really seen the point in celebrating when he wasn't there, she'd of course do something for Jicelli, but those celebrations always felt so hollow.
Then when Maatsu died they became empty reminders- Nope! She wasn't going there! This was going to be a good day.
She couldn't help the smile on her face as she picked up the crate from the shipping dock, and not just because of the worker's expression at her lifting the crate with ease, it wasn't that heavy anyway. No, she was giddy and smiling because… she hadn't really felt this happy in a while.
She was excited.
She hadn't felt this sort of giddy excitement in years.
Freyu made it back to her house without any incident. Her threat really must have worked wonders, maybe they had even left entirely. That would be nice.
…Maybe a little too nice given her history…
Freyu set the crate on the table and got to work.
XXX
Omega smelled something sweet as she sleepily came downstairs.
Freyu's making something tasty! That excitable, buzzy part of her brain said, silencing the heavy, bitter part that hung around the edges of her mind every time she woke up.
She smiled and excitedly descended, shaking off her negative headspace.
“What are you making Freyu?!” She asked as she jumped the last step.
Boa yipped and sat on her hind legs, licking her cheek with her slobbery tongue. She giggled while patting between the Chrysocy's horns. Cassony padded up and rubbed her legs, curling a tendril around her arm in her usual greeting. Omega made sure to give the older Chrysocy some love too.
“I'm making a surprise! Don't come in the kitchen, why don't you turn on the holonet and watch something, or practice some Mando'a.” Freyy instructed from the kitchen.
Omega peered around the corner and found the kitchen curtain had been drawn, blocking her view of whatever Freyu was doing.
The Pantoran suddenly popped out from behind the curtain and gave her a pointed look.
“No peeking Meg'ika.” She ordered sternly.
“Fine.” Omega huffed, crossing her arms for extra pouting effect.
“Nice try but I am immune to the effects of pouting.” Freyu said, tapping her nose gently.
“Now shoo, I'm busy.” She made a shooing motion and disappeared behind the curtain.
“You've got something in your hair!” Omega called out.
“I know!” Freyu called back.
Omega rolled her eyes and went over to the couch to watch something. She and Freyu had been watching the How To Train Your Mythosaur series together, she felt like watching that today.
Once the show started, Boa lept onto the caf table and curled around her feet. Then Cassony jumped up onto the couch and sat on her lap. And then Iri flew down and sat on her head.
Oh I see what they're doing. Omega scowled.
“You gonna have Asichi come sit on me too?” She shouted towards the kitchen.
“No, Asichi is helping me in here.” Freyu answered.
“Wait, what? Really?” Omega craned her neck to see if she could spot the horse's shadow.
“No, Meg'ika, I'm just messing with you. Asichi is out grazing. Tesi is helping.” Freyu told her.
Omega crossed her arms, to the best of her ability with Cassony laying fully on top of her, and tried to be angry. But Cassony was too cute to ignore and she quickly gave in to the temptation to pet the adorable creature holding her hostage.
It took a little while, and the smell from the kitchen was absolutely amazing. Sweet and spicy and citrusy smells were mixing together in a pleasant aroma that made her even hungrier.
“Freyu, are you going to tell me what you're making yet?!” Omega called out.
“Nope! Hey, what's your spice tolerance? Eh never mind, I think I have a pretty good handle on that.” Freyu called back.
Omega waited a little bit longer, catching spare bits of a conversation between Freyu and Tesi. From what she was hearing, Freyu was nervous about something, which was definitely strange, Freyu wasn't ever nervous, and Tesi was talking her down.
Soon after that, she heard the curtain get pulled open and, before she could react, hands covered her eyes.
“Freyu! What are you doing?!” Omega giggled.
“Making sure you don't peek.” Freyu said.
The Pantoran easily lifted her over the couch and set her on the ground.
“Okay and walk forwards, nothing's in your way.” Freyu told her.
Still giggling, Omega walked forwards with her arms out to feel for the table, though she trusted Freyu to keep her safe. She grabbed onto the table when she found it and stopped.
“Okay I'm taking my hands off but don't peek.” Freyu instructed sternly.
“Alright.” Omega agreed.
She heard Freyu step away and set something up before walking back around to her again.
“Open up.”
Omega opened her eyes to see the table filled with food and a very anxious Freyu.
“Is something important happening today?” She asked.
Freyu didn't make this much food at once unless they were having company.
“Oh! Well, you've been here four months today, Tesi suggested doing something and, well I guess I got a bit carried away.” Freyu said, anxiously fidgeting her fingers.
“You're acting funny.” Omega pointed out.
“I- yeah… I probably am.” Freyu chuckled nervously.
“So um, food! I made some food, what do you want?” Freyu asked.
Omega looked back to the assortment of options laid out for her?
Why would Freyu do all this for me? She knew how much trouble she had brought into her guardian's life.
Only a few options looked familiar to her.
“What is there?” she asked.
Freyu brightened almost immediately.
“There's lots of things. Tiingilar, it's usually really spicy but I made it less spicy for you, Cufiasnip, we've got some fruits from the greenhouse, and I made some tarts from Pantora! It's got raspberries in it.” Freyu pointed to the couple of tarts with blue and purple filling.
“I made an Uj'alayi too, oh, that's a type of cake, it's Mando'a. And there's some snowgrass soup, and I made a couple types of bread, so you can really just take what you want.” Freyu said.
Omega eyed her ori'vod. Freyu was definitely acting weird, but she was smiling and looked happy…?
“Aren't you going to tell her what this means before she partakes in this ritual?” Tesi prompted Freyu.
Her ori'vod's face flushed indigo with embarrassment as she turned on the droid.
“I was going to!” She shouted.
Freyu stubbornly turned away from the droid and looked down to her.
“Snowgrass is an important food for Pantorans, a snowgrass soup is a very… significant dish, even more so when it's being presented to someone outside the community or… or a family…” Freyu trailed off with her face turning purple.
“Okay… why are you being so weird still?” Omega asked.
Tesi rolled her electronic eyes and patted Freyu's shoulder.
“You're a mess, cyar'ika, let me handle this.” Tesi said.
“I'm not a mess.” Freyu huffed indignantly and crossed her arms.
Omega giggled, she didn't see Freyu pout that often, it was funny when she did, her cheeks puffed out and sometimes her cheeks turned purple.
“Cyar'ika, you're the color of a rue leaf.” Tesi chided before turning to her.
“What your ori'vod is failing to say without changing color is that this is a Pantoran welcoming ritual, they share significant foods to bring someone new into their family, and it's an offer of a gai bal manda, that's the mandalorian adoption ceremony. It's a welcoming into a family from both cultures, ad'ika.” Tesi said.
Adoption ceremony. Freyu wants to-
“What?” Omega looked to Freyu with wide eyes, surprisingly, her ori'vod almost looked scared. Freyu was never scared.
“You want me in your family?” She asked in astonishment.
She wasn't that great, not really. Her first family hadn't wanted her, she knew that very clearly now. With the bounty hunters and troopers and her unknown past, she was already far too much trouble for Freyu.
She had been too much for her first family, that's why they left her, threw her out and let the galaxy do what it pleased with their unwanted daughter.
Why would Freyu ever want her to join her family? Sure it was nice to think of Freyu as a big sister, but why would Freyu want her to worry about?
Why would Freyu want her when… when, when someone else clearly didn't!
Why would she want someone who had already been tossed out?
Omega felt tears on her face. When had she started crying? She rubbed the stubborn tears away.
“Omega? What's wrong?” Freyu asked, voice raising in alarm.
She turned on the Pantoran, crossing her arms. She couldn't speak, if she tried, her stupid emotions would overtake her and she'd be a sobbing mess. Something was telling her that response was wrong and shameful. Just another reason she was unwanted-
“Are… did I upset you?” Freyu whispered hesitantly, fearfully.
Why does she sound scared? That didn't fit with what she knew about Freyu, but then again, there was a lot she didn't know about Freyu.
“Why… why would you want me?” Omega asked.
“Meg'ika-” Omega didn't let her finish.
“Why would you want someone who no one else does?!” Omega balled her fists as the memory flashed through her mind once again.
She had begged. She had pleaded for them to stay. She had screamed for them to not leave her behind.
And they didn't listen.
She wasn't worth enough to keep around so they tossed her out and left her behind without so much as a second thought of what would happen to her after they flew off. They left her alone to fend for herself in that horrible, hostile place.
They abandoned her because she was so worthless!
“Why would you want someone worthless like me?!” She snapped, whirling around to face the Pantoran.
Freyu was kneeling in front of her, one hand over her mouth as she stared at her in shocked horror.
This is it. She knows how worthless you are now, she'll throw you out too! She thought bitterly.
“I found out why I ended up here.” She stated as bitter anger flowed through her body.
“Yeah, turns out whatever family I had didn't want me. I wasn't worth enough to them to keep around. I was too needy and costly for them! They never cared. They threw me, their stupid, dysfunctional, worthless freak of a child out the second it benefited them! They never even cared!” Omega screamed, she screamed in Freyu's face.
“So there it is! Now you know why I ended up here! They didn't want me!” She snarled.
She seethed, feeling the anger rush through her body with only silence ringing in her ears
“I want you.”
Omega looked up at the small, quiet voice. Freyu was still staring at her, Omega couldn't exactly read her expression, but she recognized anger somewhere in the mix. The rational part of her brain told her Freyu was angry at her first family, but she felt like Freyu was angry at her for the blow up.
“Why would anyone want me?” She scoffed.
“I want you.” Freyu repeated.
“uh huh, why? Give me one reason you would want me.” Omega growled.
“I love you.” Freyu said immediately.
All trace if rage or nervousness was gone from her face, there was only fierce determination.
Omega felt the brunt of her anger fade into confusion and pain, she was hurting inside, she didn't know why.
“Why?” was all she could think of to ask.
“Because I care about you. I love you.” Freyu said.
Omega stared up at those golden yellow eyes looking back down at her with such warmth and honesty. She could believe Freyu's words, her actions more than backed it up.
“You love me?”
Freyu leaned forwards and gave her a light keldabe.
“I love you, Meg'ika.” Freyu said.
Omega cried and hugged her ori'vod. A distressing mix of emotions churned around her insides, anger, confusion, grief, joy, relief, and a hundred others she couldn't name.
“Whoever those demagolka(real life monster) were, they deserve aar'ika(to suffer).” Freyu said.
“If I ever meet them, I will make them feel the pain they caused you.” She swore.
Omega nodded, as bad as it might be, she liked the idea in the moment.
“This is very sweet and all, but the food is going cold.” Tesi said.
Freyu groaned in the droid's general direction and got up.
“Let's get some food, vod'ika, we can talk about whatever you want while we eat.” Freyu said, holding out a hand for her, waiting for her unlike them.
Omega took the offered hand and rose off the floor.
“What's that mean anyway? Vod'ika, you keep calling me that.” Omega asked.
Freyu's face flushed again.
“Little sibling.” She admitted.
“And what's ori'vod?” She asked, she had been using it without knowing the meaning for a while now.
“Big sibling, or special, close friend. It's an important word, it has a lot of responsibility. It's every ori'vod's job to protect their vod'ika.” Freyu explained.
Omega hugged her again, feeling her tense up.
“You're a good ori'vod Freyu.” She said.
“You're a pretty great vod'ika too.” Freyu responded, patting her head lightly.
At Tesi's insistence, they quickly got to eating. Omega helped herself to a heaping serving filled with just about everything at the table that Freyu said she could eat. Some of it was naturally poisonous to her.
Everything was super tasty, each bite was packed full of flavor and it was the best meal she had ever eaten in her life.
Omega got more of the snowgrass soup and the blue and purple rice. It was fresh from Pantora, Freyu had picked it up this morning along with a few other things she had used to make this feast.
“Are Pantoran adoptions really this simple?” She asked.
Freyu glanced up and smiled.
“There's a bit more, the meal is a sign that you're welcome and if you accept, it's a celebration for the following inking ritual.” She answered.
“Inking?” Omega echoed.
“Tattoos, you get the family markings, at least that's how my family does it, I don't know how they do it on Pantora anymore, but that's how it used to be.” She said.
“Do I get a tattoo like you?” Omega asked eagerly, she really liked Freyu's tattoos.
“Oh, no, the flowers aren't ready yet. That's where we get the color from. But once I have it ready, you could do it if you want.” Freyu said.
“That's gonna be so cool!” Omega insisted.
Freyu chuckled and went back to eating.
“Are you forgetting about the gai bal manda?” Tesi asked, leaning towards them from her place at the table sipping some… thing, Omega honestly did not understand that droid one bit.
“No, I just haven't gotten there yet.” Freyu huffed.
“What's the gai bal manda?” She asked.
“You'll find out.” Freyu said cheekily.
XXX
Omega laid on the couch with an overly full stomach, Freyu had accidentally over-estimated how much humans could eat, Pantorans could eat much more. That just meant lots of tasty leftovers the next couple of days.
Freyu was finishing up with cleaning, she'd refused her help when she offered. Tesi had said something about her stalling which had Freyu shouting for Tesi to shut up with a purple face.
A few minutes later Freyu came out with a metal pot full of something. The pot was heavily decorated and looked really old. Freyu set it on the caf table and took a deep breath before turning to her.
“I'm going to let you know something that you can't ever tell anyone else, it's extremely important that you understand how secret this is.” Freyu insisted.
I knew there was something she wasn't telling me! Omega thought.
“Omega, this is serious, if it wasn't I would have told you already.” Freyu told her, snapping her fingers to get her attention.
She cocked her head to the side.
“How serious is it?” she asked.
“The Empire would try to kill me.” Freyu said.
Omega gasped, Freyu covered her mouth before she could say anything.
“I didn't say they would kill me, I said they would try to, okay?” She said.
Omega nodded and Freyu removed her hand from her mouth.
“You can't tell anyone about this.” Freyu said one last time.
She sat on her knees and closed her eyes, holding out her arms in front of her chest.
“Oh and stand back, don't wanna burn you.” She added.
Before Omega could ask what she meant, Freyu snapped her fingers and a blue spark burst forth from her hands, erupting into a blue and purple flame that danced above her finger tips.
She stared down at the flickering flame with a saddened smile, then glanced up to her and extended her hands, and the fire, towards her. Omega backed away from the definitely not normal fire and Freyu withdrew her hands, pulling the fire back close to her chest.
Her saddened face was illuminated by her own flames as she moved one hand from beneath the flame.
“I didn't lie to you… but I didn't tell you the truth either.” Freyu said after a moment.
With a flick of her free hand, part of the flame pulled away and danced around her fingers.
“Freyu… how are you doing this…?” She asked.
“You remember when I told you about Maatsu, right?”
She nodded.
“And when I told you about the Force?”
She nodded again.
“I can use it.” Freyu turned her head away as she spoke.
Omega stared at the fire and Freyu, the flames danced calmly as they hovered over her hand. A million questions raced around her head but only one came out.
“Like a Jedi?”
Freyu nodded.
“You said you couldn't be one.” She felt the need to point out.
“I was too old and emotionally unstable for them to be comfortable, my mom didn't make it very far there either. Guess they didn't want to have another failure like her.” Freyu said almost bitterly.
“Your mom was a Jedi? Why didn't she do well?” Omega asked.
“My mom didn't talk about her life much, I didn't know she was one until very recently.” Freyu admitted.
“Okay… so you can do the stuff Jedi can… why is that so bad? It doesn't seem like something that would get you into trouble.” Omega said.
Freyu sighed and closed her palm around the flame, she didn't extinguish it, but she made it incredibly small.
“Do you remember anything about the clone wars? Aside from what people have told you.” She asked.
“No… why? What happened?”
“Honestly I don't really remember, I never paid much attention to the war shit cause I didn't need to, there was just war one day, no war the next time I checked. But there was a bunch of nonsense about the Jedi being traitors, which I seriously doubt is true, and there's that purge you've heard about. I just assumed that the Empire wouldn't react so kindly to someone like me around.” Freyu said.
“It’s not so different from normal, I've never been open about this, I don't just walk around lifting stuff with my mind or starting fires, that isn't smart. I can usually get away with a lot of stuff because I live here and things are just like that here, but I really don't want the Empire finding out. I don't think it would be very fun.” She added.
They'll attack her! She already said they would try to kill her! Omega realized with a jolt of fear.
“They'll take you if they find out, won't they?” She guessed.
Freyu shot her a sympathetic look, nodding.
“They will probably try, but we don't have to worry about that, because they won't find out.” She said confidently.
Omega gave her a small smile and nodded. She would take this secret to her grave. She wasn't going to let anyone take her family away from her again.
Freyu smiled back.
“Alright, let's get on with this.” With a flick of her hand, the lid of the pot she brought in was removed and whatever was within was set ablaze by the spark in her hand.
The flames danced in front of her, bathing the room in a flickering blue and purple light.
“Are you ready?” Freyu asked.
“Yeah, I am.” I'm ready to be wanted.
Freyu took her hand and held it palm up over the fire. She could feel the heat on her skin, but she knew Freyu wouldn't let any harm come to her. A cool liquid was poured into the center of her palm.
“Once I say your name, we turn our hands over.” Freyu whispered.
Omega nodded.
Whatever was in their hands would go into the fire once it was done.
Freyu took in a deep breath and gave her a nervous, excited smile.
“Ni kyr’tayl gia sa’ad, Omega.”
Together, they turned their hands over and let the liquid trickle off into the flame below.
The fire surged, green flashed through the blue flame. For a moment, the flames enveloped her hand but she felt no pain. Freyu held her hand as the fire danced around them before settling back down.
Then she covered the pot again and the fire went out.
“Welcome to the family, Meg'ika.” Freyu said.
Omega slammed herself into her big sister's side and hugged her, Freyu hugged her back and patted her head.
“Just so you know, you're stuck with me forever now. Even if you hate me, I'm going to stick with you no matter what you say, so I hope you're ready to deal with me for the rest of your life.” Freyu teased.
“I wouldn't ever hate you.” Omega told her honestly.
Freyu raised an eyebrow.
“Just wait til I embarrass you in front of someone you have a crush on.” She said.
“Freyu!” Omega whined.
“Now that's more like it.” Freyu said, playfully ruffling up her hair.
XXX
Freyu glanced up from her book as Tesi came into the living room. She and Omega had been watching a movie and Omega fell asleep on her.
“It's good to see you like this again.” Tesi said softly.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Freyu asked the droid, shifting Omega's weight slightly to be more comfortable.
“Happy, peaceful. It's truly been too long since I've seen you comfortable in your own skin.” Tesi said with her literally shining smile glowing softly.
Freyu smiled down at Omega snuggled up next to her.
“It feels good too.”

PLEASE READ:
— this event is officially closed. my asks are only open for the previous anons who i’ve asked to do a redo for any mistakes/restrictions in their previous orders.
— new requests will no longer be accepted. or maybe it will because i’m easily swayed with great ideas but it will no longer be part of the milestone event.
— my writing schedule is only during wednesdays, fridays, and the weekends. some works will be written in advance and scheduled to post daily (if possible.)
— please be patient! as you can see, i’ve got a lot of requests, and i really want your meals to be as pleasing and delicious as possible, so please please be patient. i’m training for med school and i’ve got other responsibilities too. if you want to decline a request if you can’t wait for it, that’s fine.
— i’m human so...my mind can change any minute, and i could no longer be interested in a certain idea. if that happens, i’ll reply to your ask that i won’t be serving your meal anymore even if it’s here on the list below. it sounds kind of rude, but i wouldn’t want to write something i’m not interested in for the sake of pleasing others, because if i write something i don’t enjoy/am not that interested in anymore, then the meal won’t turn out as good had i been passionate for it. it’s going to be done out of forced productivity and the food might taste bad :<
— the last batch of accepted meals will be marked as ✿
— favorites will be marked as ★. because they’re the ideas i find most interesting and the ones i adore the most, they will take longer to be completed. i really want to give my ultimate best on that and just UNLEASH everything i have in me.

restaraunt rules : please read!
— i do not write about yandere, stalker, pregnant! reader (unless it’s still until the early age where the belly is still small), non-con, and heavily canon requests
— nsfw content i won’t write about: period sex, blood play, temperature play, pegging, male characters dressing up as female, monster fucking (sorry, sukuna won’t be getting four arms if you want nsfw for him), bestiality, incest, hypnosis (non-con related)
— not exactly a restriction, but please keep in mind that y/n is still a character for me as the writer. i may or may not add in features that even though isn’t explicit, could be something not suitable for everyone. phrases like, “he peered down at her” sounds neutral enough, but could still be implied that the reader is shorter than the anime character. it’s difficult to write a 100% neutral fic that won’t imply appearance one way or another. if i’ve written anything offensive/upsetting, feel free to tell me about it. i’ll do my best to keep it neutral.
— the reader will always be female bodied in nsfw content
— please be patient! i want to write fics the requester enjoys so i’m going to take my time in preparing your meal!
— i may or may not cook your meal 100% according to your request. depending on my comfort upon the idea, i may have to tweak a detail or two.
— i can refuse your request if i don’t want to write about it for personal or other reasons. i’ll let you know beforehand.
— wine will take longer to be served!
— i will announce if a trope/au/character is no longer open for requests. i feel like some ingredients will be quite common amongst requesters and i don’t want to write for the same thing over and over again. same goes in the manner that if you have a similar request to another, it’ll be fused into one idea/meal.
— if your request contains offensive/uncomfortable content, i won’t even respond back to you. i’ll immediately delete your ask.
— if you still don’t get or are confused by the guides, send me an ask! i’ll happily guide you!
— this event is now closed. i will temporarily be closing my ask box so i don’t get flooded. i’ll open it again tonight for anyone who has questions or just want to drop a message!
Tumblr media
hmm...i’m still not sure how to order for my meal.
✧ what if the story/scenario i want isn’t included in the choices above?
— as i’ve stated, please feel free to request whatever you want! the choices are there to give people an idea what they’d like to see, but if it’s not there, you can still request for it as stated in the “send me an au/trope/kink you want!”
✧ what if i don’t have any ingredient, spice, or sugar i want but a song inspo anyway?
— that’s also fine, but it would be preferred if you’re descriptive so your meal could be delivered better and faster. in this case though, i’ll just have to get creative!
✧ what if i want more than one character in the request?
— having others included in the request is fine, but as much as possible, i can only write a maximum of two main characters (the reader excluded)
✧ what if i want to request for the ones you want to write for but you don’t think you can pull it off well?
— just a heads up! i would love to write for them, but because i’m not entirely caught up in the manga, the characters mentioned above aren’t ones i know very well yet.
✧ not exactly regarding the meal, but i’ve sent you requests from last week. would you still be writing them?
— i’ve received several requests when my bio states that requests are closed. however, because the ideas are actually really precious and i know i’d have fun writing them, i’d still write about them. i just cannot guarantee you’ll receive your meal soon since my requests were closed when you sent them.

TECH
Tumblr media
Tech sat at the table watching his brothers dance on the floor, Crosshair and Oleander had left a while ago, Omega was dancing with Hunter and Kambe, Echo and Halcyon were lost in each other’s eyes, and Wrecker and Lurwa were laughing while they swayed with the music.  Tech imagined what life would be like with a significant other, he knew he wasn’t like his other brothers, no one really gave him a second glance, no one wanted to get to know him better, and no one bothered to continue a conversation with him.
It never really bothered him during the war, after all there was always something that needed to be done, intel to be confirmed, plans to be prepared, Halcyon, Lurwa and Kambe kept telling him that he was the best of the Bad Batch, that he was the sweetest, but it still didn’t prevent them from falling in love with his brothers.
Tech eyed the whiskey in his hands, it was a realization that this was probably going to be his life after the war, to be left behind while his brothers all moved on with their life.  There was one woman who had captured his attention, but he never really got a chance to even talk to her, it was all missed opportunities and barely spoken conversations.  He could still remember seeing her the first time in the Jedi archives, she was assisting the head librarian.  She wasn’t a Jedi or a Padawan, she was simply a civilian worker who helped in the library.  He remembers her purple lekkus shifting slightly, as she turned to face him, her beautiful eyes capturing his heart, at that moment he forgot what he was going to say.  He wanted to ask her out, he wanted to spend time with her, but before he could say anything, she was called away by General Kenobi who was looking for some help.  She blushed at Tech’s stare, excused herself and left him standing at the desk, since that day, he had seen her here and there, but never actually getting a chance to have a conversation with her.  When she saw him, she always gave a loop-sided smile and a quick wave.  Who knows where she was?  No doubt a braver clone had stepped up, and did what he failed to do.
Tech looked down at his glass, it was empty, he definitely was going to need more liquor if his mind was going to continue reeling at the realization of the loneliness that was going to be his future.  Tech leans on the counter, most of the evening had been somewhat entertaining, seeing the Wolfpack play a song, watching a proposal, seeing how the various Jedi and clones were all mingling, excited about the end of the war.
“What can I get you?” General Kenobi came and asked Tech, Tech was shocked.
“General?”
“Obi-wan”
“With all due respect, sir, what are you doing behind the bar?”
Obi-wan shrugged, “I did it because we were cheering Jirli and Wolffe, and thought it would be nice to pour everyone their drinks, but somehow Yoda hid the bartender droid and now I’m stuck here, until my grandmaster decides to release me from this prison I created for myself” he chuckled at that, he knew Yoda was taking his good old time to get back to him with the droid.
“Ah, I see”
“So in the meantime, what can I get you?”
“Whiskey”
“Any preference?”
“Whatever is the strongest”
Obi-wan didn’t prod more, simply gave a simple nod and moved to grab Tech’s drink, he could see the younger clone was stressed, he could also feel his sadness radiating through the force.  Obi-wan grabbed two glasses and walked over to Tech.
“Want to talk about it?”
Tech shook his head ‘no’, he didn’t want to, as much as maybe talking about what bothered him would help.   He reached for the new glass.
“You sure, Tech? I’m a very good listener.”
Tech let out a sigh, as he turned to look at his brothers over his shoulder, Obi-wan followed his eyesight, and began to realize what the problem was; “you’re afraid you’re going to end up alone”.
Tech turned to look at Obi-wan, what? How could he know that?
“Sir …”
“Obi-wan or Kenobi if that makes it better”
“Kenobi, I don’t know what you are talking about”
“Tech, come on, I can see how you’re eyeing the couples dancing, it doesn’t take a genius such as yourself to figure it out.”
Tech let out a sigh, “it’s not so much that that's bothering me”.
“Then what is it?”
“Missed opportunities”
“Hmmm, you mean Lira?”
Tech looked from his glass to Obi-wan, “okay, seriously?”
Obi-wan couldn’t help but let out the chuckle, “I could tell something was up when you saw her in the archive room, not to mention, she kept asking me all kinds of questions about you.”
“She did?”
Obi-wan nodded, “she has quite the crush on you.”
“How… why … when did she say that?”
“She never did, but I can tell”
Tech’s hope that had begun to build dissipated just as quickly, “oh” was all he said.
Obi-wan couldn’t contain the laughter that came from his lips, “for a genius and for an elite commando, you aren’t very observant, are you?”
“What do you mean?”
“The fact that you would run into her whenever you were planet-side, how you just happened to run into her in the mess hall, in the hallways, or if you happen to be in the archives, didn’t you find it odd?” Obi-wan took a sip from his own whiskey.
“I …”
“She asked whoever she could to find out when you would be planet-side on Coruscant.   She harassed me enough to find out if your ship had arrived on the planet.  If you were still alive.”
“She …”
“Not to mention, she tried to find out as much as she could about you, but seeing as how you and your brothers didn’t really mix with the regs, she was left to wonder who was the man who captured her heart in a mere matter of seconds.”
Tech looked around the room, hoping more than anything she would be there.
“She’s not here” Obi-wan said
“Oh”
“She’s at the temple” he smirked, while he took another sip
“Oh!”
“Alone” he smiled more, while taking another sip
“OH!”
“You know it would take someone less than five minutes to hop on a speeder, head to the temple and walk into the archives, where she’s probably still organizing the archives.”
“Really?”
Obi-wan nodded as he finished his drink, “also helps that the code to enter the temple after hours is 63728, but you know, you didn’t hear that from me” Obi-wan winked, as he grabbed his now finished glass, and went back to put away the whiskey he and Tech had shared.
Tech finished his drink in one shot, he had a mission, a mission that requires nerves of durasteel, a final mission.  He headed out of the gala like a man possessed, he let too many opportunities pass by, too many regrets, no more.  He didn’t know whose speeder he grabbed, but whoever left their keys, he was eternally thankful to them.  Obi-wan was right, it didn’t take him more than five minutes to get to the temple.  Tech walked up to the temple entrance, punching in the code Kenobi had given him.  His feet took over and guided him to where his heart belonged.  He wasn’t going to let another opportunity slip away.  Not again.
Tech stood in front of the door to the archives, somehow all the way over he completely forgot to practice what he was going to say.  The last thing he wanted to do was an info dump.  He took a moment, steadied his breath, closed his eyes, this was it.  He was going to do this.
He opened the door to the archives, there was no one there, it was quiet.  He walked further in, hoping that Obi-wan hadn’t just made a fool of him, that he wasn’t playing some sort of game.  He never thought the General could be cruel or mean or that he would play such a hurtful game.  However, the more he searched the more he noticed no one was there, in fact the archives looked as though everything had been shut down for the night.  Tech let out a sigh, turning to exit the room, resolved that the General had indeed played some sort of game on him.
He was about to exit when he heard faint music coming from behind one of the archive stands, it was faint, almost like a dream, not quite there but there.  His feet guided him to the soft sounds he heard, when he began to hear humming as well, as he got closer he saw a purple lekku sway from behind one of the stands.  Years of practice and stealth missions taught Tech had to be silent when he needed to be.  His footsteps were barely audible the closer he got to Lira, she was there amongst the archives, her radio playing from her cart.  Tech watched as she danced with an imaginary partner, her eyes closed as she hummed along to the music.
Tech’s heart swelled at seeing her, seeing her softness, seeing how completely enraptured with the music she was, oblivious to anyone and everything.  At one point she spun closer to Tech, he took a leap of faith, he swallowed his nervousness down, and stepped in, placing his hand on her waist, holding her hand with his, while her hand naturally found his shoulder.  He swayed with her, spinning her in time with the music.
Feeling the added weight to her waist, the hand grasping hers, and the shoulder her hand clenched, Lira opened her eyes, she was startled to say the least.  However, upon seeing Tech’s goggles and warm eyes, she couldn’t help but smile.  She had been daydreaming she was at the gala dancing with Tech, only to have Tech manifest before her, maybe she wished too hard to the force.
Tech matched the smile she gave him, he reached over to her cart, turning the music up, “to properly dance, we need to hear the music, not just feel it.”
“I agree” Lira responded
As the music swelled, their hearts swelled knowing that this was a moment both had been dreaming of, to be this close to one another.  Lira couldn’t resist resting her head on Tech’s chest as he pulled her in closer.
“This is nice” Tech finally said after dancing for half an hour in silence, the only thing breaking the silence was the music.
“Mmmm” Lira responded in agreement, she loved listening to his heartbeat, how his voice rumbled in his chest when he spoke, how his breath hitched when he pressed a soft kiss to her head.
“I guess there’s only one thing to discuss”
Lira pulled back to look Tech in the eyes, “what’s there to discuss?”, maybe he had heard about how she was basically keeping tabs on the Bad Batch, trying to determine when they would be planet-side.  Would he find that a breach of protocol?  Would he find it endearing? Would he be concerned she was a stalker?
“Where should I take you on our first date?” Tech smirked as he looked into her eyes, Lira’s mouth just pulled into a grin, “I wanted to ask you out the first time we met all those months ago, but I just never could muster up the courage to do it.”
Lira blushed at that, “I wanted to too, but I just never had the strength to do it.”
“Is that why you just kept tabs on me instead?”
Oh stars! He knew. She buried her face into his chest, trying to hide the embarrassment that was radiating off her from deep within, she just nodded against his chest.  She couldn’t bear to look at him.  Lira felt Tech’s laugh against her forehead.
“It’s okay” Lira pulled back to look at Tech, “I was sort of keeping tabs on you too”.
Now it was Lira’s time to laugh, “so first date?”
“Tomorrow?”
“Perfect” she stood on her toes as she placed a gentle kiss on Tech’s cheek, Tech pulled her in closer, as they continued dancing for the rest of the night.

GREGOR
Tumblr media
Gregor watched from the garden of the gala as everyone laughed and joked, his time during the war was one of amnesia, stuck on a separatist planet, listening to the commands of a very small general, and helping a bunch of droids get back to the Republic with important information.  He didn’t think he would have made it out of that separatist stronghold, but he had managed to sneak onto a ship, while the droids were busy with the explosion.
The damage he suffered presented differently compared to his brothers, he sometimes had a hard time trying to recognize reality or what was really dangerous.  It took a lot out of him, being in the gala was a bit overwhelming too many voices, too many people, just too much of everything.
“Can’t stand the noise?” a voice behind him approached, Gregor turned to see a Senator from one of the neighbouring planets approach, she looked familiar to him, but the name slipped him entirely.
Gregor simply nodded in response to the question, he wasn’t sure if he opened his mouth, exactly what would come out.
“Me too, it’s overwhelming to say the least”, Gregor watched as she took the seat beside him, her eyes were strong, fierce, yet when she glanced towards him, he noticed they softened.  Her features were striking, especially among the lights of Coruscant.  Something in the back of his mind told him he knew her, but it was like a floating dust ball in the air, he could see it at times, but was unable to actually grab it.
“You don’t remember me, do you?” she asked, keeping her eyes focused on her feet.
Gregor simply shook his head ‘no’, but then he realized she hadn’t been watching him, “I’m sorry … uh no.”
“It’s okay,” she shrugged, “a lot has happened, especially to you.”  She took a deep breath and looked up to the sky, Gregor followed her line of sight, watching the ships coming and going.
“I miss watching the stars” she said, “when I was kid back on my home planet, my father and I would lie in the field behind our house.  We used to plan various trips, all the different planets we would see.  We even planned a trip that would take us to the unexplored regions of space, to see what lay beyond the outer rim.”
“I don’t think there’s anything beyond the outer rim”
“There has to be something”
“Empty space”
“Oh come on, just imagine, what would there be?  For me, I imagine, there’s a whole region of space that’s never had to learn about war.  A planet where everyone gets along, there’s no crime, no politics, everyone treats each other as they wish to be treated.  No one judges anyone.  Now what about you, if you could make up your planet, what would it look like?”
Gregor took a moment to think about it, “water”
“You mean like Kamino?” she turned her head to look at him, a smile appearing on her striking features.
“No, not like Kamino, more like Naboo, but more oceans, rather than lakes.  High mountains covered in snow.  Low valleys filled with lush greens.  Steady temperature throughout the planet.  Quiet.  Peaceful.  Just me.”
“Sounds kind of lonely.”
Gregor shrugged, “it’s easier for me that way”.
“Oh” she said, looking back at the ground, Gregor turned to look at her, he could see she was saddened by that a little, he didn’t know why but his heart ached a little when he saw her sadness.
“You could visit” he offered, she turned to look into his eyes, a smile appearing.
“That would be nice, but only if you wanted me to”
Gregor nodded, “it’d be nice to have company that would understand why I was there by myself.”
Neither said anything for a while as they looked into each other’s eyes, Gregor didn’t know why, but his heart felt like it could take off and fly, as though all the struggles, the stress, the pain, everything he went through, was worth it, simply by looking in her eyes.
“I’m Gregor, by the way” he offered his hand.
“Nice to meet you, Gregor” she smiled, “I’m Cinra, Senator of Corellia” she took his hand in hers.  Smiling at the comforting way his hand fit in hers, she began to remember the first time they had met.
“Captain Gregor, it’s a pleasure.  Thank you for coming with me to these negotiations.”
“Our pleasure, Senator”
“Please call me, Cinra”
“Only if you call me Gregor” his smile smirked at her.
“Very well, Gregor.  Tell me about your squad, Foxtrot, are they looking forward to some downtime.”
“Downtime?”
“Well let’s face it these negotiations are boring even for me, I can just imagine, they’ll be super boring for your team”
Gregor laughed at that, “don’t worry about us, Cinra. We’ll stay on our toes, for you”, he locked eyes with her.  This wasn’t the first time Cinra worked with clones, but this was the first time a clone made her heart skip a beat.
It was that trip that made them take the first step into a relationship that was forbidden from happening, but neither cared, they knew what they had was special, a once in a lifetime time of relationship.  She missed waking up to his scruffy face, his hair all over the place, as he held her close, afraid she would slip through his fingers, if he let her go even for a second.   She missed his kisses, his hands caressing her face, his declarations of love, him surprising her in her office with flowers, and the necklace he gave her before his fateful mission.
Cinra turned her head away, wiping a tear, remembering the life they had before his unit went missing during the Battle of Sarrish.  She began fiddling with the pendant that hung off her necklace, it was a silver pendant with the Foxtrot symbol, a promise of sorts.
Gregor turned to look at the pendant, “that’s beautiful” he motioned with his head to the pendant.
“Thank you, my friend gave it to me before he … disappeared” it was true to an extent that the Gregor from before, was not the same Gregor that was sitting next to her.
“May I?” Gregor asked, with his hand reaching towards the pendant, Cinra wasn’t sure if she should, maybe it would cause more harm than good.
“Umm…”
Gregor pulled his hand back, “I’m sorry, if it’s personal …”
“No!”she exclaimed, now that he had pulled back, she wanted to show him more than ever.  She took a deep breath, and leaned in showing the pendant to Gregor.
Gregor took the pendant with his fingers, and leaned in to get a better look, “this is … I know this …”
Cinra’s breath hitched in her throat, maybe he’d remember, maybe he’d come back to her.
“This was the symbol for Foxtrot Squad, right?  They were a bunch of elite commandos”
Cinra’s hope was dashed, he didn’t remember.  Gregor rubbed his forehead, again it was like something from the back of his brain wanted to be pulled to the front.
“Captain, we need to get out!”
“Alright men, to the escape pods!”
“Captain, I can’t reach Spitter, he’s not answering his comms”
“Where was he last?”
“In his bunk, sir”
“You men get to the escape pods, I’ll go back for Spitter”
“Sir, let me come with you.”
“No, Buck, you get to the escape pod.  If you survive, tell Cinra … tell her…”
“I know, sir!”
“Then get going!”
Gregor felt tears welling up, how could he forget her, how could he just forget his men.  He looked to Cinra who was sitting beside him, her eyes were sad, she quickly looked away from him, she tucked away the pendant, it was causing more damage, it was a mistake, she should have kept her distance.
“I’ll let you enjoy the quiet, it was nice to meet you Gregor” Cinra got up, she was going to walk back into the Gala, keep her head held high, until she could exit and crash completely in the privacy of her own quarters.  Her Gregor was gone, the joking, flirty, protective Gregor who would hold her all those nights, who protected her from a Separatist assassin, whose men trapped them in his quarters for the better part of a day until they admitted their feelings for each other.  The man who held her, when she received reports upon reports of deaths, destruction, and the casualties of war.   The man who sang to her when they didn’t have music, but he wanted to dance.   Cinra kept wiping the tears that were falling as each memory of her Gregor came to the front of her mind, with each step she took further away from the Gregor sitting there, the more she realized he truly was gone.
“Cinra” Gregor stood from the bench, he remembered something, he remembered her.  He may not have remembered everything before landing on Abafar, but he remembered her.  He remembered making his first breakfast at her place one morning, only to have burned everything.  Cinra, walking into the kitchen, wafting the smoke away, laughing as she came up beside him, leaving a kiss on his cheek, then spending the day teaching him how to cook.
Cinra stopped in her tracks as he called her name, it was the tone that caught her attention, it was the way he would say her name when they were alone.  The way her Gregor would say her name, almost like a prayer, hoping it was always answered.
“I …” he began, she couldn’t help but turn to look at him, there was hope rising in her chest, she knew better than to allow that hope there.  If it turned out he didn’t remember, if it turned out this was confirmation her Gregor was gone, then she really would just wallow in grief.
Gregor noticed how her eyes held hope there, how they looked as though they were pleading.  He remembered how his hands carted through her hair, how she fell asleep one night, while they were watching holovids on his shoulder.  How she tucked herself into his side, until there was no way to know where she began and he ended.  How her breath fanned his neck.
“I …” he began, he took a deep breath, and walked closer to her, “I remember.”
Tears that had been threatening to truly fall, completely took over, Cinra lost her strength, her knees caved in beneath her, she didn’t have the strength to stand anymore.  He came back.  Her Gregor came back!
Gregor closed the distance, kneeling before her on the ground, pulling her into his chest, wrapping his arms around her.  He remembered her.  He would fight hard to keep those memories, to keep her there.
“Tell me you’re real, that I’m not imagining you” Gregor pleaded into her hair.
Cinra pulled back and looked into his eyes, she straightened her torso, enough so her hands could hold his cheeks, and pulled him close to her lips.
When Gregor’s lips met hers, it was the missing piece he had been missing, his arms pulled her in closer.  She was real, she was here, she was warm, she wasn’t a hallucination.
She pulled back enough so her mouth could be beside his ear, “I’m real.  I’m real” she kept repeating, her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer to her, she wasn’t going to let him get away again.  Not again.  Never again.  He was going to be with her, she was going to help him remember, even if it meant she had to leave the Senate to do it.  She wanted to be by his side.
“You’re real, you’re real” Gregor repeated into her ear, his breath fanning over her neck.  Now that she was there in his arms, he remembered how her weight felt right, all the times they spent wrapped in each other’s arms, all the times they laughed and cried together, he remembered how right it felt.  How she was so right for him.
“I’m never letting you go, Gregor.  Never” she vowed to him, she didn’t care what anyone thought, she would never let him go.
“I’m never forgetting you again.  Never” he vowed to her, he would fight any notion in his mind, he would fight to keep his reality, however that meant.

LOL in all honesty though I’m way too amused by my own Jack Frost joke and its literally from a Bobby/Christian fanfic I wrote like, twelve years ago or something. It was right after Morrison introduced the idea of Christian in his run for purposes of Emma angst, and then they had that Emma solo, and I took that and ran with that fueled entirely by Rage and Spite, as I am wont to do. I now have no idea where said fanfic is, sadly. This was definitely way before Ao3. I think I only posted it on LJ, on an account where my friends list was like....entirely people from an entirely different fandom soooooo probably why that fic never really caught on. Whatever, I write fic more for myself anyway lmao.
It was pretty good though, think it would’ve held up well. The basic premise had to do with Dark Beast, the AU version of Hank from Age of Apocalypse. See, in the comics, when the few survivors of the Age of Apocalypse reality ended up in the 616 reality after it was destroyed, not all of them ended up in the present. Dark Beast, for example, ended up like twenty years in the past. And he didn’t have most of his memories, amnesia from trauma from the cross-dimensional travel or something. Which is when he met a then teenage Emma Frost, who’d just run away from home after everything that happened with her dad and Christian, and she ended up restoring Dark Beast’s memories with her telepathy, so they actually have history in the comics.
So I went with the idea of, okay what if you let Christian have agency in his trauma instead of giving it to Emma, who lbr, has PLENTY of story material on her own. So my premise was that it was Christian who ran away from home and ended up meeting Dark Beast and restoring his memories. And then Dark Beast, who has always been just as obsessed with creating the perfect mutant as Mr. Sinister is, if not more, because he’s like....equally obsessed with proving he’s better than Sinister....well instead of experimenting on the Morlocks, which is what he went on to do in the comics, he looks elsewhere. He never went after Scott or Jean, because he’s also a coward and Sinister scares him shitless, and DB knew damn well there was no such thing as a reality where Sinister hadn’t already called dibs on Scott and Jean’s genes. BUT, Dark Beast also knew from his own reality who all the other most powerful mutants would end up being....years before their powers even manifested in this reality. And since I’m me, of course I wrote it so that like, DB decided to focus on the other one of the 05 destined to grow up to be an omega mutant.
And so he had Christian, who was young and easily manipulated because Love Me, I Need External Validation, My Last Name is Frost as In My Family’s Credo is What If We’re All Frosty All The Time....he had Christian use his telepathy to like, prompt Bobby into running away before the actual event that led to Xavier and Scott finding him and saving him and him joining the X-Men. Where Bobby of course ‘happened’ to bump into DB, who took him in along with his other young protege Christian, so he could like, secretly conduct experiments on Bobby blah blah you get it.
But eventually Christian and Bobby fell in lurv and Christian was like what no, this is wrong, bad, not doing this anymore, so they run away together, and then it was basically just me writing them as a mutant Bonnie and Clyde who are gay and do crime together and say like, fuck all the adult mutants who try and manipulate them and other kids like them. Like Xavier, who eventually tried to get Bobby to join the X-Men and Bobby was like lol no, hard pass. Or the Hellfire Club, who eventually tried to recruit Christian except he was like lol no, hard pass. And then they were basically like this Chaotic Good power couple that just popped up here and there fucking shit up in a well-intentioned way that made half the X-Men grind their teeth and the other half snicker, and same with the Acolytes and other various groups. And there wasn’t really anything anyone could do about it because its canon that Bobby’s only real weakness is to psychics and having a world-class psychic as your boyfriend really kinda nips that weakness in the bud. Unless you come up against like, a cosmic-class psychic like Jean Grey, but lucky for them, she just thinks they’re adorable and tends to go whoops, missed them again every time they slip through the X-Men’s fingers.
And ultimately they decided their real mission in life was to rescue really young mutants whose powers manifested early and put them in danger, and make sure they get a chance to grow up without the various factions going ‘we’ll protect you, but only if you grow up to support our agenda and be One of us, shhhh, don’t fight it, just sign your life away on the dotted line, all the cool kids are doing it.’ And also me being me, and it being like 2004 ish? I think? Maybe 2005. Anyway. So my other preoccupation of the time was the Academy X kids so of course we’re talking like Julian and Josh and Cessily and the like, who were all like, adorable little ten year olds at this point in time, but also V. Beyond the Capacity of These Two Hapless Gays to Handle Without Help. Like, apparently omega powers and world-class telepathy do not actually qualify you to effectively parent a mob of young mutant menaces when you’re only 21-22 yourselves, who knew. So they ended up just showing up on the doorstep of one of Emma’s properties, mutant menace mob in tow, as she was the White Queen by now, and Christian greeting her facepalm moment with ‘Hey Ems, remember how you always wanted to be a teacher?’
And then there was this bit where Emma was something like “I’m a bit busy trying to take over the world, darling, try me again after my mid-life crisis.”
And Christian was all: “You can teach and take over the world at the same time, y’know, some of us are capable of this little thing called multi-tasking?”
And Bobby helpfully piped up: “I can pat my head and rub my stomach at the same time.”
Cue Emma’s wrinkled nose and accusing stare at her brother: “What on earth do you see in him?”
But Bobby just turned around and was like: “Umm, for starters, my ass is amazing. Have you not seen it? Here, touch it. Go ahead, you can squeeze it.”
Emma: .....
Christian, shrugging: “Well I mean, he’s not wrong.”
Emma: “If I agree to this idiotic plan of yours will you leave immediately and never come back?”
Bobby, stage whispering: “Tell her we still want holiday visits, so we can be the cool gay uncles who show up and spoil them rotten and thus they love us more than her. But don’t tell her that last part.”
Christian, dutifully: “We want to still come by for holidays so we can be the cool gay uncles who show up and spoil them rotten and thus they love us but no more than you, an equal amount only.”
Emma: “I’m standing right here you imbeciles.”
Bobby, still whispering: “Make sure that includes Easter. I’m pretty sure if I show up in a bunny costume I can make her head explode.”
Christian: “Just to be clear, that includes - “
Emma, a vein in her temple throbbing: “Just give me the children already.”
Bobby, gathering up the kids in a crowd around him, all noisy and giggling and clamoring for his attention: “Okay kids, so here’s the plan. From now on, you guys are gonna stay here in this big old house with Auntie Em!”
Emma, appalled: “Oh. My. God.”
Christian frowns: “Emma, please stop trying to fry my boyfriend’s brain. I’m not going to let you.”
And then the kids swarmed through the door past her into the hallway and there were the sounds of stuff breaking, distracting her for a bit before she like, glared at Bobby and was all: “This is all your doing!”
Bobby, hurt: “Only mostly! Chris and I are a team. A united front. It was a 60/40 split.”
Christian: “Well....”
Bobby: “Okay, 70/30.”
Christian: “You said you were going out to get some waffles to make breakfast in the morning and you came home with waffles, ice cream, and Julian on your shoulders.”
Bobby: “He followed me home!”
Christian: “That’s not how he tells it.”
Bobby, whirling on the ten year old Julian Keller who’s playing a Gameboy and looking entirely unconcerned: “You little traitor.”
Julian flipped him off.
Bobby, scandalized: “He did NOT learn that from me.”
Julian, still not looking up from his game: “Yes I did.”
And that was when Christian started dragging his boyfriend back to their car, before Bobby can get into an actual fight with a ten year old, yelling back over his shoulder at Emma: “Okay, great, thanks so much for doing this, let us know if you need us to bring anything when we come back in a few days with the second batch.”
Emma, distracted and trying to do a headcount: “Yes, fine, be gone already. ...Wait. What second batch? DRAAAAAAAKE!!”
But it was too late as the car is halfway to her big mansion gates by then, Bobby cackling: “Hey, we should totally get a dog. Like a little foofy one.”
Christian, knowing better than to ask but asking anyway: “And why is that?”
Bobby: “Bet you anything I can get her to say “I’ll get you and your little dog too!’”
Christian: “I’d appreciate it for both our sakes if you never do or say anything to suggest to my sister you’ve ever compared her to the Wicked Witch of the West. I mean, not that she’d protest on moral grounds, but she takes her color schemes very seriously. And you do know you don’t actually have to provoke her quite so much...”
Bobby: “Mmmm....agree to disagree. It’s the principle of the matter.”
Christian: “What principle? What matter?”
That was the gist of that scene anyway. Dialogue’s probably different, but you get it.
Ugh, I probably have the whole thing sitting in an old email account somewhere because that’s always been my main way of backing stuff up, is emailing it to myself. Problem is, I think I had a specific fandom email account back then and I don’t know what it is anymore lol.
