BUT what comes before that??? sexy af. if it was up to me, they'd build a home at the gift. and some of the dead would still be out there, so he'd become a hunter and so would his children and grandchildren and....... don't mind me, i'm a horror fan.

"People with ADHD are impulsive" wrong, i don't just do things that pop into my mind on impulse, it's just that the consequences of my actions don't feel real and my whole understanding of cause and effect is simply not there

I was talking with my nearest and dearest about how modern RPGs have a pretty frustrating story-to-doing-literally-else ratio, and even series that used to be more combat-heavy or dungeon-heavy are padding their length out with countless cutscenes.
Persona, for example, went from a dungeon crawler with a bunch of sidequests to do upkeep on between dungeons to a glorified visual novel. But even the western ones aren't immune.
It hit me like a ton of bricks that it's probably why I'm still so fond of Dragon Quest and why they've been my favorites since the pandemic. They've added a lot more story to the newer games but the ratio of cutscenes to everything else is STILL quite low compared to basically any other big-name RPG.
#no shade if you WANT to sit through 30+ hours of flapping head cutscenes in a 50-hour game#but that's not me#I don't even hate that RPGs are trying to have More Story inherently because a lot of very old games have bad stories or none#but if a game is advertised as 50 hours and I spend more than half of that doing nothing?#stop b think of the children

Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying “schizoposting” and “acoustic” and “is it restarted?” Stop using “psycopath” and “sociopath” as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying “the intrusive thoughts won” when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying “I’m so OCD” as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying “OP I am living in your walls” without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers you’ve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
