I imagine Harry and Ginny like this so much, after the war, after the mourning period has passed. Him lying on Ginny's chest, watching movies that he showed her and that she loved, him sleeping in her arms and her stroking his unruly hair

@hinnymicrofic prompt 13: Ex
There were flashing lights everywhere. It was difficult to see people and all Harry could hear was shouting. She was dashing through the corridors of Hogwarts, shooting spells at any Death Eaters that came towards him.
He was panting as he raced down the steps and bumped into someone causing them to both fall.
He got up and recognized Dean Thomas. He looked panicked and scared and there were a couple of scars on his face.
“Dean! You okay?” Harry asked, trying to make his voice heard over all the commotion.
“Yeah, yeah, I am! You seen Seamus?” Dean asked.
“No, I haven’t. But you need to get somewhere else, there are may too many Death Eaters surrounding this place!” Harry looked around and could already see them.
Dean looked reluctant, but nodded. “You need to leave too then!”
“I can’t, I have to take them all down!” While he was speaking, a Death Eaters charged towards him and Harry shot a spell which was deflected.
Immediately, Dean stepped and helped Harry duel the Death Eater.
Spell after spell after spell, the Death Eater fell to the ground with a heavy thump and in seconds, Harry and Dean dashed away to avoid anymore of them.
Once they were in an empty area, Harry turned to him. “Thanks for helping me back there.”
“Of course.” He clapped Harry on the back before running off to help a group of younger students.
Months later, a healed Harry would realize the irony of teaming up with Dean. Instead of ripping him limb from limb, they wanted to rip a Death Eater limb from limb.

Indelible Yuletides
Tumblr media
December 18th's prompt word for @hinnymicrofic is "Turn". I hope you enjoy this Sirius and Harry moment "pre-hinny"!
Read on Ao3: Turn
One would think that Christmas Eve at Grimmauld Place would be a dreary place to celebrate the holidays, but given everything happening at Hogwarts, and Sirius’ exuberant cheer at having guests, it was better than one might expect.
That is until the twins and Ginny, traitors that they were, decided to tell Sirius about the Yule Ball two years prior, and how he and Ron had been terrible dance partners. Much to Harry’s surprise, Sirius vanished the tables and chairs in the dining room one evening after supper, and vowed to teach them all to dance.
“How is it that you know how to do all these dances?” Harry asked curiously. Harry thought he saw a flicker of sadness in Sirius’ gray eyes for a moment, but he must have imagined it, because Sirius smiled as he led him in a waltz.
“It was expected of me. As the first born son of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black, there were certain things I was forced to learn as a proper Pureblood.” Sirius said lightly. “Plus it’s helpful to know how to dance if you meet the right girl.” Sirius winked at him as the song ended. As he watched Ron take a turn, amidst much snickering from his brothers, he couldn’t help picturing some faceless girl dancing with him. For a moment he let the daydream carry on, until the face slowly appeared, and suddenly he was dancing with Ginny. He shook his head. She’s Ron’s sister, he thought.  Blimey he was barmy, and Harry couldn’t quite figure out why she had come to mind. When Sirius waltzed Ginny around the room a while later, it did nothing to ease the image that was cemented in his mind.  These confusing thoughts swirled in his mind for the rest of the day, and the familiar floral scent chased him, making his brain go fuzzy.

Hi 👋🏽
For the drunk prompts, I just totally see Hermione saying this to Ronniekins"I've always loved you. But I will never tell you."
Hi there, anon! Thanks so much for this prompt. It took me a while but here it is!
I really enjoyed writing this and I hope you enjoy reading 😊🍻🍹🥃
Prompt: “I’ve always loved you. But I will never tell you” from @creativepromptsforwriting’s drunken love confessions prompt list here
Amidst the neon lights
Summary: Ron experiences the challenges of keeping his partying friends in check, especially his girlfriend, who experiences her first episode of excessive drinking.
Amidst the neon glow of the club and the smell of alcohol lingering in the air, a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and music enveloped the small group of friends. The past months had been tough on everyone, Auror Training and N.E.W.T.S. had taken a toll on all of them, and tonight was about letting go.
As the night unfolded, Ron watched how Hermione found herself lost in the rhythm of the music, swaying to the beat with an almost contagious energy.

I just love how comfortable harry is with Ginny. This boy either hates/is neutral everytime someone hugs him. Yet he is the one who initiates his hug with Ginny(she was the first person who he initiated a hug with!). He is scared to death of the fact that cho would expect him to kiss her and hold hands with her. But he literally kisses her in front of the entire gryffindor and is holding hands with her and kissing her goodnights as if they have been together for ages. In OOTP he doesn't even tell ron and hermoine what was bothering him yet when Ginny appears, he simply confesses how much he wants to see Sirius without thinking twice. Harry also nearly spilled his plans to kill Voldemort the first time they were alone after breakup. It's like he is fully defenceless with her and doesn't even show an ounce of self consciousness. And I love that for him

Maybe a weird ask but how much do you think people gossip about Ginny and Harry in hbp, because both of them are so popular around the school?
What do you think they would be saying?
not a weird ask!! i think pre-relationship harry was talked about quite a lot with everything surrounding the chosen one rumors, and let's be honest, you know girls were giggling about him in the loo between classes too. probably much of the same conversation that we have now (lol)... is harry's anti-social behavior intriguing or a turn off? is his bed head hot or cringe? is the fact that he is seen at least twice a year running through the halls covered in blood mysterious or downright frightening?
ginny was probably a hot topic of conversation what with her new relationship with dean and then its subsequent implosion. i do wonder if there was much talk about their break-up or if everyone just knew it was a long time coming... were the other 5th-7th year boys all taking bets on who would be the first person to ask out ginny post-breakup? how many tried and were turned down?
then of course post quidditch cup victory you know the entire school was a buzz in the aftermath of that kiss. i'm sure some people (romilda vane) circulated nasty rumors that harry and ginny had gotten together behind dean's back, while others spied on them in the library and at meal times wondering what on earth harry potter was like in a relationship.
i'm sure everyone found out rather quickly that they were impervious to the chatter. i'm also pretty sure mcgonagall mentioned to professor sprout at breakfast "i don't think i've ever seen potter smile so much." to which sprout replied, "he had such a faraway look in his eye yesterday that the venomous tentacula got him twice."

Who’s the dirty talker when doing the deed, Ginny or Harry? Everyone claims it’s Ginny but it’s such an obvious choice that in my head canon it’s Harry because it would be hilarious. He’s such a nice humble guy but when he’s doing the deed with her he’s got a filthy cocky mouth and Ginny loves every second or it.
i honestly think i agree with you, but more in the sense of harry losing himself in her to the point that he has no idea what he's saying. like i can't see him being a big talker or actively choosing (or premeditating) what he's going to say. it's more like he gets so caught up in the moment, and in ginny, that he can't help but tell her what she's doing to him.
and since it's smut sunday, why the hell shouldn't he?
under the cut because nsfw
"This one," Harry muttered, ghosting his thumb over her collarbone. "This freckle right here is my favorite."
"Mmm?" The corner of Ginny's mouth stretched into a smirk as she combed her fingers through his hair.
Kissing the aforementioned favorite, he trailed his lips down her body until he found another cluster on the underside of her breast. "Or this one."
Her breath hitched as he licked and sucked his new choice.
Nosing his way even further down, he found another constellation dusting the space above her hip bone.
"Or maybe it's these–"
The muscles beneath her navel squirmed and jumped as his breath tickled her skin.
Harry skimmed a featherlight palm up her thigh, testing and teasing until his hand settled at her center. Using the pads of fingers, he swirled his way up and down her opening, feeling the heat spread and drip.
"You're so wet," he whispered in reverence.
Ginny's breath quivered. "You tend to do that to me."
As much as he wanted a taste, he waited, propped up over top of her so he could keep seeing the look on her face. He slipped one digit halfway inside and Ginny's mouth fell open, her brows furrowed in surrender.
His restraint was well worth it.
He felt her softness stretch and yield to his ministrations. He added another finger and a raspy moan escaped between her lips.
"And tight." He groaned, his eyes fluttering as he imagined the feel of her wrapped around his steadily growing erection, instead of his fingers. "Fuck, Ginny. You're so tight."
"Faster," she keened in reply.
He didn't need to be told twice. Harry enlisted his thumb in the undertaking as well, circling and pressing her clit as his index and middle fingers plunged in as deep as they could go.
Ginny's hands moved from his elbows, to his shoulders, then to his neck. Her heavy lidded eyes caught his. Harry only had a split second warning before she pulled his face down and captured his lips in a frantic kiss.
Harry felt every sharp inhale, every shuddering exhale, every tremor that fluttered around his fingers.
"Come for me, Ginny," he murmured against her mouth. "Please, you're so pretty when you come..."
She whimpered, and her entire body tensed.
God, she was so close.
Quirking his fingers, and dragging them along her walls, he spent the next four seconds pulling every ounce of bliss he could from her until all of her muscles went taut.
Then with his name on her lips, she snapped.
Harry kissed her through it, muffling every cry and gasp with his mouth as he stroked in time with her shudders.
He kept going until she hauled his hand away with a whine.
"I could do that forever," he said in between kisses to her jaw.
Ginny huffed, halfway between laughing and gulping down air. "I'd let you."
He hummed, taking her ear lobe between his teeth.
Her hands shoved his shoulder and Harry gave in easily, falling sideways onto his back.
"But right now," Ginny breathed through a grin. She tossed one leg over his hips to straddle him. "It's my turn."

Into her sleep
This is me writing Hinny smut (or any kind of smut) for the first time, so, you know, be gentle?  Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!
And because I can’t write pure happiness, it’s more of an wankst (wangst?) than anything else.

Summary: “…after a while Harry found himself taking it out simply to stare at Ginny’s name in the girl’s dormitory, wondering whether the intensity with which he gazed at it might break into her sleep, that she would somehow know he was thinking about her, hoping that she was all right.”
In which, unlike Harry thought, Ginny was not sleeping.
Rated M, so below the cut:

Scent
@hinnymicrofic
“When did you finally figure it out?” Ginny asks. Her hair is fanned out around her, the red a shocking contrast to the green of the Quidditch pitch.
They’d been mucking about - flying, tossing a Quaffle, racing, perhaps brushing up against each other in the sky more than was strictly necessary for a casual scrimmage. They had finally headed for the ground as the sun made its lazy descent below the line of trees. Ginny had flopped down on the grass to watch it and Harry had joined her, the thrill of flying still singing in his chest. Or maybe that was just Ginny.
“Hmm?” Harry hums contentedly, watching the sky transition to a brilliant orange.
“When did you finally figure out that you fancied me?” Ginny asks, trailing her fingers through the grass.
The question startles him, because it seems to him now that he must’ve always fancied her, at least a bit, even if he was too thick to realize or too wrapped up in other things to notice. He’s still thinking when he answers, “When I wanted to throttle Dean.”
She laughs, which was what he’d intended. “Jealous, were you?”
“Mm,” he agrees, still mulling the question over.
Looking back on it, there are a great many glaring signals that Harry hadn’t recognized for what they were at the time. The way he’d longed for his summer with her to stretch on, the twinge of regret as she walked away on the train…
“That first Potions lesson, you were what I smelled in the Amortentia,” he muses. “That probably should’ve been a clue…”
He’d been thinking out loud, and only after he’s said it does he realize that was perhaps a more vulnerable confession than he’d intended to make. That’s a bit much, probably, when they’ve only been together a week.
“What?” Ginny says, and Harry wishes he could snatch the words back, wishes he could chew them up and swallow them to be buried somewhere deep in his gut where they belong.
“Yeah,” he says, trying to sound nonchalant.
Ginny rolls over and props herself up on her elbows, her expression a mixture of incredulity and mischievousness. “Did you really? What did it smell like?”
“A few things,” he says, unable to look at her and instead pretending to be utterly entranced with the sunset. “Treacle tart. Something that smelled like my Firebolt. And…”
He finally looks at her, and finds that her eyes are glowing brighter than the sun ever could. “You.”
She seems to be struck uncharacteristically speechless, and the moment hangs for several panicked heartbeats. Then, she shuffles closer and presses her sweet lips down to his urgently, and Harry reckons he can’t have mucked it up too badly, as she runs her fingers through his hair and presses herself against him.
She pulls away suddenly and stares down at him, her eyes pressing him down into the earth, and then she lets out a bark of laughter.
“What?” he asks, smiling.
“You–” she cuts herself off, rolling back over and letting out a loud breath that floats up into the darkening sky. “You can’t say shite like that to me.”
He has no idea what to say to that, but luckily she spares him by continuing. “You can’t, it isn’t fair. I already like you too much.”
Harry wonders whether the sun has set directly into his chest. “Well, me too. Clearly.”
Ginny snorts, and Harry reaches for her hand. He breathes in deeply, wanting to drink in the moment, and he thinks he catches the faint flowery scent of her lingering traitorously in the air.

Bathrobe
Written for @hinnymicrofic, Sept 6: Problems
Ron shook his head and looked up. “I had no clue you had so many marital problems.”
Ginny shifted closer to Harry on his lap, letting out a chuckle.
Harry glanced at the newspaper. “Clearly our very secret elopement was a mistake.”
“If we were to marry without mum there, we’re going to have much bigger problems,” Ginny commented with a glance at her engagement ring.
“I better be invited too,” Ron mumbled. “Or I may change my mind about allowing you to date my sister.”
Harry and Ron locked eyes for a moment in silence and they both burst out laughing.
“I could always date that bloke...” Her brows knitted together. “Babe, what’s his name again?”
“Your secret lover you’re having an affair with at the Harpies stadium?” he asked, eyeing her.
Her eyes sparkled. “Yes!”
“Robert.”
“I do recommend remembering someone’s name before dating them,” Ron said.
Ginny nodded. She leaned towards Harry. “Would be terribly awkward if I accidentally moaned your name instead,” she whispered.
“I heard that!” Ron objected, pretending to read the newspaper.
“As long as you don’t moan Robert’s name when we—”
“Do you mind?!” Ron asked.
“Ronald,” Ginny said. “You invited yourself over here because you had a minor fight with Hermione. We had different plans, trust me. You should be glad we didn’t kick you out.”
Her brother turned red. “Fine, I’ll leave.” He closed the newspaper and stood up. “You filthy people.”
Ginny snorted. “Oh Ron. Don’t pretend. We all know about your little makeup ritual with Hermione.”
Ron shook his head. “You don’t.” He walked to the door. “See you tonight?”
“Bye, Ron,” Harry said. “Tell ‘Mione hi from us.”
Ron waved and closed the door; Harry returned his gaze to Ginny in her bathrobe. She beamed at him.
“What?” she asked cheekily.
He eyed the ribbon in her bathrobe. “You have some nerve sitting on my lap in that bathrobe with nothing underneath.”
Her eyes tracked down his body. “Oh, I didn’t know you noticed that,” she said innocently.
He took a deep breath, meeting her eyes. She playfully raised an eyebrow.

pretty please 16, 22, and 29 for ginny?
I like your style, anon. Two lighthearted asks and one gut-puncher. We'll go in that order, just to be kind.
(Random Character Asks here).
22. Ginny's best physical feature:
Interviewers at Quidditch Weekly and Witch Weekly always and without fail mention Ginny's long, fiery locks. They rave about her warm and winning smile, too, conveniently leaving out the bit when she dropped the facade at the first mention of her personal life.
If you ask a certain Potter, though, you might get a different answer... 🍑 #bodybyquidditch
29. Ginny's eating habits:
Ginny will never turn down a hearty meal, but she's a grazer. She isn't much of a cook, so in those first few years away from Hogwarts and the Burrow she's mostly snacking instead. Only when the work schedules even out, and Harry becomes more comfortable in the kitchen, do they establish regular meal times and she serves as his willing sous chef (read: taste-tester).
She's an adventurous eater, prefers salty to sweet, and loves anything with a good strong flavor: olives, pickles, cheese, curry fries... And, ever the Weasley, she gets this look her friends and Harry recognize any time she's excited about heavy, sloppy food wrapped in greasy paper... usually at the end of a night at the pubs.
16. Ginny's deepest darkest secret she won't admit, even to herself:
You asked for it, anon...
Ginny misses Tom. She'd never admit it to herself, let alone anyone else. Never again will she have a friendship so flawless, one in which she's so wholly and completely understood. Part of her knows that the perfection is what made it so sinister, that real relationships are found through overcoming conflict and differences. But none of that changes the fact that someone was there for her at a time of burgeoning adolescence and deepest insecurity, and she'll never be able to rewrite those experiences.

If Hinny’s first kiss was on May 10th and the school term finishes end of June, why do so many people think Hinny only dated 3-4 weeks? According to google Dumbledore died on June 30th. So wouldn’t it be more like 7 weeks+?…
My whole life has been a lie. *dramatically faints*
Welcome to the dark side (we have been possessing this knowledge for years but no one wants to listen).
Harry and Ginny canonically get together at the start of May. From taking the actual calendar of 1997, some people with a lot more free time than me figured out that it was the 10th of May. It is a debatable method because if I remember correctly in the third book the full moons don't align with the actual moon calendar of 1993-1994 but it was adopted the date 10th of May because it's the closest to an actual date we can get. Regardless it doesn't change the fact that the first kiss was at the start of May.
From DH we know that Dumbledore died on the 30th of June, so the funeral was at the start of July, probably July 3rd.
So, yes, Harry and Ginny date for around seven weeks.
Now, the first problem with this was that the idea that the school year at Hogwarts finished in July seemed weird. It is most likely an error on Rowling's part (as usual), but what's written it's written.
The second problem was that in the break-up scene, Harry talks about a "few weeks" of relationship, which usually doesn't make you think of two months. It's also true that "nearly two months" wouldn't have sounded very poetic.
In short, the only way for the story to be coherent is to assume as canon that Harry was being a little bit dramatic, which I think given the circumstances it's not unreasonable.

A little belated Harry bday ficlet:
“Got you a gift,” Ginny said as she sat beside him on the grass of the Burrow yard. She presented him with a glass of water and smiled. “Happy birthday. Sorry I kicked your arse.”
“You’re so not sorry,” Harry retorted, wiping the sweat off his forehead. “But I’ll accept your water.”
Harry took it from her and chugged it rather quickly. Ginny laughed as Harry sighed with contentment. “Best birthday gift ever.”
“Better than last year, even?” She asked, raising her eyebrows.
Harry smiled at the memory, putting the glass down. “I guess they’re comparable.”
“Git,” she said, nudging her shoulder against his. “You know the water’s not your real present, right? I was going to give it to you after dinner-“
“Ginny, don’t worry about it, really,” he insisted, grabbing her hand. “I have all I need.”
“But we want to celebrate you,” she said softly.
Harry shook his head. “I don’t really feel like celebrating so much this year.”
Ginny snorted. “If there was any year to celebrate, it’s this one.” She picked up their joint hands and kissed the back of his. “None of us knew if you’d make it to eighteen.”
“But-“
“And no one who’s…gone… would want you to abstain from celebrating that fact.”
Harry thought on it for a moment. Ginny used her free hand to trace the lines on his face, then his scar, then sift her fingers through his hair. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sensation.
“And besides, my mum made like, three treacle tarts for you. But if you insist on not celebrating, I’ll tell her to throw them away-“
“No,” Harry interrupted, opening his eyes. He laughed at her winning expression. “I suppose you’re right,” he surrendered.
She smiled, leaning forward and planting a gentle kiss to his lips. “That I always am, love.”
He smiled against her, then kissed her again, this time more thoroughly, deeply, unapologetically.
They broke apart and Ginny stood up, offering him her hand. “Now, c’mon, let’s play another match. Getting your arse kicked will help work up your appetite so you can eat all the treacle tart the world has to offer.”
