Hello! I hope you don't mind me sending some of these questions your way :) #2, #15, #27, #37 and #39!
ask me questions!
i mind TERRIBLY amanda i can't believe you would even think about sending me these :/
2. Do you drink tea or coffee? How do you take it?
coffee. i can't stand it on it's own tho i have to add milk and sugar to it because if i drank it as is i would die
15. What’s your favorite season?
hmm probably spring. i have fibromyalgia which means i don't get along with the cold but then i also don't like extreme heat, so i'd have to go with spring. storms and pressure systems can sometimes cause headaches or even migraines, but i'd take it over dealing with the cold tbh
27. What’s your favorite book? Or just one you’ve read a few times?
the revenge of the sith novelization by matthew stover. holy shit. i think matthew stover should be in charge of literally every star wars novelization ever because what he did with the rots novelization is nothing short of miraculous. it takes what is already a decent film (the best of the prequels imo) and turns it into a literary masterpiece. there are so many quotes that come to mind because it's so memorable ("there was a thermonuclear where his [anakin] heart should be," "love is more than a candle, love can ignite the stars" "though this is the end of the age of heroes, it has saved its best for last") and it really fleshes out characters that we only get so much of in the original films like mace windu and count dooku (seriously this book does absolute wonders with their povs) and takes things that are already brilliant (like the fight between anakin and obi-wan) and makes them even better. easily one of the best books i've ever read

I’ll take whatever Matthew Stover was having when he wrote the Revenge of the Sith novelization-
“This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever: The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain. The light burns you. It will always burn you. Part of you will always lie upon black glass sand beside a lake of fire while flames chew upon your flesh.”
“This was not Sith against Jedi. This was not light against dark or good against evil; it had nothing to do with duty or philosophy, religion or morals. It was Anakin against Obi-Wan. Personally. Just the two of them and the damage they had done to each other.”
“But even in the deepest night, there are some who dream of dawn.”
“In the end, the shadow is all you have left. Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself—And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame.”
“This is Obi-Wan Kenobi: A phenomenal pilot who doesn’t like to fly. A devastating warrior who’d rather not fight. A negotiator without peer who frankly prefers to sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate.”
“Everything dies. In time, even stars burn out. This is why Jedi form no attachments: all things pass. To hold on to something—or someone—beyond its time is to set your selfish desires against the Force.”
“Obi-Wan looked down. It would be a mercy to kill him. He was not feeling merciful”
“This story happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It is already over. Nothing can be done to change it.”

For the writing prompts
obikin and 18 or 22 or 45, whichever you like more! 😊
Hi Anon!
SEND ME A SHIP AND A NUMBER AND I'LL WRITE A SHORT FIC
18. waking up with amnesia au
this is a direct continuation from this Sith AU, as in, this picks up a couple of weeks later. I strongly recommend reading the linked snippet first, and in general all the little snippets I wrote for this AU before reading this one.
That being said, let's go
The light bothered him enough that Obi-Wan opened his eyes with a frown. He was on a bed, a thin white sheet covering his body. Everything hurt and he groaned as the world slowly shifted into focus, his surroundings filled with bacta tanks and medical beds. A machine beeped close to him on regular intervals, and there was a line connecting his right arm to a serum bag.
A body shifted, a young Mon Calamari with a holopad who took in the sign of Obi-Wan being awake and checked his vitals before greeting him gently.
“Where am I?” Obi-Wan asked, barely repressing the urge to snap the line out of his arm.  The Mon Calamari muttered as he typed on his pad. “The patient shows signs of disorientation corresponding with a long period of unconsciousness. Keep under observation in case the symptom persists.”
Finally, he looked up towards Obi-Wan. “You are at the medic bay in the Jedi temple. My master will join us shortly and make sure everything is going well with your recovery.”  “Jedi temple? What happened to me?”  “You got stabbed by a piece of debris that punctured part of your lung and stomach. Lost quite the amount of blood and oxygen levels turned worrisome low. Would have died if they hadn’t brought you here.”
Just as he finished speaking, a Togruta entered the room and smiled at the Mon Calamari before turning to Obi-Wan. “Now this is a sight I thought I’d never see again. How is our patient doing?” “So far his recovery is going according to plan, Master.”  “Excellent, the Council will appreciate this information. Has he shown signs of aggression?"  “Not so far, mostly confusion.”
Irritation filled him. It wasn’t enough that he had woken up in an unfamiliar place, being talked about as if he wasn’t there was pissing him off. The Togruta turned towards him and leaned forwards, turning on a small lantern and cheeking his eyes. “Your reflexes seem to be doing great. I’m gonna ask you some questions to help you ease back into the living world. You almost became one with the Force!”
Obi-Wan grunted as an answer.  “Alright. First things first: do you know who you are?” “I’m Obi-Wan Kenobi-”  “Haven’t heard that name for years,” interrupted the healer, only confusing him more. “Other names you identify yourself with?” “No.”  The questions continued, getting more annoying and more confusing as well.
No, Obi-Wan did not know who the main general of the Separatists was. No, he did not know Count Dooku personally. No, he had never met the Jedi Council before. He did not know who Qui-Gon Jinn was. And most importantly, he did not understand why he had ended in the Jedi med bay to be treated after his injury.  The Mon Calamari took notes of everything he answered and exchanged a quiet look with his master once the questions were over. “I will notify the Council immediately.” The Togruta master said. “In the meantime, make sure our patient doesn’t get too overwhelmed with outside stimulus until we can figure out how to fix his memory loss.”
The Mon Calamari nodded and then hesitated. “Uh, what should I do if Knight Skywalker visits?” The name tickled something in the back of Obi-Wan’s brain, like an unanswered question that escaped him.  “You let him in, of course, and take notes of everything they talk about.”  A couple of hours later, as a healer brought him lunch and a holopad with a novel to keep him entertained, the doors opened and someone walked in.
At the healer’s sigh, Obi-Wan looked up from the holopad to see the most gorgeous man he had ever seen. The man looked up from where he was glaring at the floor and his expression eased, making Obi-Wan’s heart jump, the machine he was connected to betraying the effects the man was having on him.  He ignored as the Mon Calamari frantically tried to understand what was happening as the man finally reached the bed and sat down near him. “Hi,” he began softly. “It’s nice seeing you awake.”   Obi-Wan did not exactly know who this man was or why he was glad he was awake but he didn’t particularly care, happy to have his lovely eyes fixed on him.
He did not appreciate the Mon Calamari approaching the man and leaning down to whisper something to him, and he actually frowned when the man’s face went from curiosity to confusion to… grief? He wasn’t quite sure and forgot to ask the moment the man took his hand between his. “Hi, Obi-Wan, you may not remember me right now but I’m Anakin.”  He looked at him with earnest eyes, and the name made something inside Obi-Wan warm with familiarity. Even then, the name did not spark any memory, and he simply smiled politely to Anakin. Something inside him, though, screamed at him that Anakin was important, that he needed to make a good impression. So, he sent him a smouldering look and said: “Hello there.”
He did not expect Anakin to burst into laughter, startling the Mon Calamari. But his confusion over the reaction didn’t stop Obi-Wan’s heartbeat from accelerating again.
Thank you for sending me this! I hope you enjoyed it!

@theneutralmime
That's incredibly subjective at this point, since we've got at LEAST 3-4 different "canons" depending on how you look at it right now.
The first is Lucas's personal canon, which I imagine is what you're remembering having read somewhere as being just the films and TCW, although this would just be the first SIX films and the first SIX seasons of TCW and nothing else (this includes the sequel trilogy and season 7 of TCW, as well as films like Solo and Rogue One).
Anything beyond those things but that was created prior to the Disney buyout in 2014 is considered "Legends" canon (previously known as the Extended Universe before the buyout). This includes things like the original Thrawn trilogy, the Jedi Apprentice/Quest novels, the 2003 Clone Wars show, etc. Lucas did not consider them part of HIS Star Wars story and had no problem with ignoring anything introduced in Legends material if he didn't like it (nor did he have an issue with USING things he DID like from Legends material, but he often warped it to fit into his own story). Disney doesn't consider any of it as canon, but different creators have been slowly "re-canonizing" some of it in recent media (like Jango/Boba Fett being Mandalorians, or Siri Tachi's existence).
Anything created AFTER the 2014 buyout is considered "Disney canon." Unlike Lucas, Disney doesn't seem to be really separating their films/TV shows from their other content like books/comics/games in terms of continuity, but not everyone is actually consuming everything so sometimes shit doesn't match anyway. Generally the films and Disney+ TV shows (which for this purpose will include things like Rebels even though that show was created prior to Disney+ existing) are probably considered "higher" canon than things like the books, comics, and games, but it isn't as clear cut as it used to be under Lucas. While I think many of the things created under Disney canon, especially the films and Disney+ shows, are TRYING to be considered part of the same continuity as Lucas's canon, they're also definitely still doing their own thing and Lucas himself has no influence on them.
Rebels would be considered DISNEY canon since it was created after the buyout. Same goes for The Bad Batch as well as the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.
Tales of the Jedi is weird because it technically is within Disney canon, but I believe Filoni has claimed that audiences should see it less as actual canon events and more as like... "fables" or something like that. So basically the dude in charge said we can disregard anything in this show as canon if you want to, I guess. That being said, there's nothing in it that completely contradicts the more accepted canon (Lucas's stuff and the Disney films and TV shows), so I think that most people generally consider this show as "canon" no matter what Filoni said.
And of course, there's always your personal canon, which is just whatever you decide to SEE as canon regardless of anything "official." I personally dislike Tales of the Jedi and the Ahsoka show and am fully willing to just... pretend they're not canon. Neither of them has any real bearing on the larger narrative Lucas wrote anyway and you can obviously understand and enjoy the original six films without them.
I mostly use these distinctions when I'm having a discussion with someone about something like, say, the intentions behind the story. Because that can obviously change WILDLY depending on who is writing the story. Lucas and Filoni are not the same person, much as Filoni might like to believe otherwise, and so they have radically different approaches to Star Wars, its messages, and its worldbuilding. Something Filoni writes in a Disney canon show does NOT have any relevance to a discussion about what Lucas was trying to say about the Prequels Jedi, for example. Same goes for anything written in a Legends novel or comic book.
Star Wars is relatively easy to cherry pick from depending on what you enjoy. Especially these days, with how much content is being cycled out all the time. So if you just don't care for Disney canon at all, you can just... ignore it and focus on Lucas's canon and Legends material if you want. If you happen to be one of the people who just doesn't vibe with Lucas's messages, you can focus more on Legends canon and Filoni's more recent work. Or you can exclusively enjoy Lucas's canon and absolutely nothing else. Or you can pick and choose from within each "canon" depending on what vibes with you. The galaxy far far away is your oyster!

I woke up today and chose violence, so this is my "Rael Averross is Luthen Rael" in Andor endgame theory.
"Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I’ve given up all chance at inner peace. I’ve made my mind a sunless space. I share my dreams with ghosts. I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there’s only one conclusion, I’m damned for what I do. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape. I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet." - Luthen Rael (on why he's a fucking Jedi)
Luthen Rael, a Jedi?! Yeah kinda really seems like it
I'm hardly the first person to have picked up the hints that Luthen Rael was a Jedi at one point. He whips out a kyber crystal like it's nothing, specifies that his whole life changed 15 years ago (count back to Order 66), perceives that his embrace of anger instead of a list of ideals that sound a lot like the Jedi code is a failing, and the "share my dreams with ghosts" line sure does sound like the survivor of a genocide that targeted a specifically psychic community of people. He carries around that stupid wooden "walking stick" thing that's obviously a barely-disguised lightsaber. His fucking SHIP has a big lightsaber beam for christsakes.
In a universe where several Jedi do survive to go on to help the Rebellion under assumed identities, it's not a stretch to think that there's a conveniently-placed, established one still on Coruscant working for the proto-Rebellion in the years leading up to Andor.
So why do I think Luthen is Rael Averross, Dooku's first apprentice?
The clue in their similar names would certainly keep with the tradition of Jedi in hiding barely changing their names (looking at you "Ben" Kenobi who dresses in ... a Jedi robe.) But there's more than that.
The last time anyone saw Rael Averross was the end of the Master and Apprentice novel, where he's at the end of a 7-year-mission out of the Temple, faced with the possibility of joining Dooku, and uncertain about his future with the Jedi Order. While he ultimately doesn't decide to follow in Dooku's footsteps, his future after that does not seem clear. We don't see him again, not even in Tales of the Jedi. We know he was brought to the Temple very late (at age 5) and judging from Pijal, is very comfortable living outside the Temple as a regular guy. We know he has some difficulty feeling a sense of belonging in the Jedi Order, which seems to have worsened after Dooku left. If he left the Jedi at some point after Pijal, as he seems to have at least considered, he could have been well placed to survive Order 66.
There are other small details that could hint at their shared identity. Luthen's profession, running an antique shop full of very significant prequel easter eggs, fits with some backstory - Dooku's preoccupation with artifacts and Rael Averross's likely exposure to them. In fact, the Jedi prophecy holocrons that Dooku, Qui-Gon, and Rael all seem to obsess over at various points are even literally present, stashed in his shop. He doesn't speak with a Coruscanti accent. He's in possession of a blue kyber crystal (Averross fights with a blue lightsaber.) Rael Averross is politically connected from his time as regent on Pijal; Luthen Rael also utilizes such political connections. Luthen Rael even has a trusted, young female protégée and confidant -- if you want to go all into Rael Averross's Lost Daughter Trauma.
Both Dooku: Jedi Lost (2019) and the Master and Apprentice (2019) novels which came out ahead of Andor's 2022 release date go out of their way to flesh out the character, place him in Dooku's inner circle, and detail points of connection like the artifacts and holocron study. In a meta way, I wondered why they were spending so much book time on a relatively minor character only tangentially related to characters who get screentime. (For example, new canon hasn't touched any of Qui-Gon's previous apprentices, and if the point was just to explore Dooku's other students, Komari and Galidraan would tie in with the Jango Fett storyline and the Mandalorians.) These choices aren't random or at the author's whim; in an interview, Cavan Scott of Dooku: Jedi Lost infamy mentions he was specifically told to stay away from Dooku and Rael's apprentice days in that book. Someone in the greater Star Wars content ecosystem was paying attention to this character. Why?
Why not?
I think the biggest argument that he's not Rael Averross is the physical appearance - Claudia Gray describes Rael as short and "tan"/dark skinned, Stellan Skarsgård is a a 6'3 Swede. Probably that should stop my argument right there, but unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time Star Wars has retconned right over a fairly large detail like that, and frankly, has a problem doing that more often with nonwhite characters. (*making direct eye contact with Clone Wars's take on Sifo-Dyas, but even Quinlan Vos occasionally gets white washed*)
Ultimately, I don't think that Andor is the kind of show that will want to show you a Luke Skywalker cameo; in the same way, I have a hard time imagining that if this theory is correct, we'll get more than a nod and a wink confirmation. The show is all about little people coming together to fight the Empire.
But I think there's at least a decent chance that Luthen Rael is a familiar face, and if so, I can't see a better place for one of the disaster lineage to end up.

Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 4): Legends
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Juhani | Identity: lesbian | Media: Knights of the Old Republic
Juhani from 2003’s Knights of the Old Republic was the first ever queer character in Star Wars. The Mandalorian Wars rendered Juhani’s family refugees on Taris after the destruction of their homeplanet of Cathar. Juhani was enslaved due to her mother’s debts, but was liberated by the Revanchists when they freed Taris from Mandalorian rule. This inspired her to travel to Dantooine to train as a Jedi, where she fell in love with her fellow padawan Belaya. For her final trial, she was tricked into believing she killed her master when consumed by the Dark Side. She fled into the wilds of Dantooine, her turmoil agitating the wildlife. Dealing with Juhani is the player’s final trial as a Jedi, and they can either kill Juhani or handle the situation diplomatically and return her to the light. She then joins the player as a companion.
Traveling together, Juhani grows close to Revan and can be romanced by female Revans (the game shipped with the gender flag for romance bugged, but she is intended to be a lesbian). She takes the player turning out to be Revan very well, as she never truly accepted that Revan turned to the Dark Side due to how the Revanchists saved her. If the Dark Side ending is chosen, the player must kill Juhani.
Juhani strives to be a good Jedi, strongly believing in their principles. However, she struggles with the in-born aggression and heightened anger of her species, which with her perfectionism creates a vicious cycle that drives her towards the Dark Side. Other than Revan, she kept herself separate from the rest of the crew of the Ebon Hawk, especially Canderous Ordo due to the Mandalorian’s genocide of her people. She was also full of bitterness regarding the racism she faced on Taris, and struggled not to lash out against all humans because of it.
Ferus Olin| Identity: gay | Media: Jedi Quest/Last of the Jedi
Ferus Olin was created by Jude Watson for the Jedi Quest series of junior novels. He was the apprentice of Siri Tachi, and a rival of Anakin Skywalker. The two padawans often had to work together due to their masters often collaborating on missions. He left the Jedi Order right before the Clone Wars. As the protagonist of the 2005-2008 junior novel series Last of the Jedi, he started a business with Roan Lands, which eventually led to them founding the rebel organization The Eleven. This organization was destroyed by the Empire, leading to Ferus and Roan teaming up  with Obi-Wan Kenobi to set the early foundations for the Rebel Alliance. Vader eventually destroyed his rebel cell, killing Roan. Ferus spent the rest of his life secretly watching over Leia on Alderaan, until he was killed by Vader in 0ABY.
Due to the times, his relationship with Roan could only be heavily implied, but Jude Watson has stated that she wrote them as a married couple. This makes him and Roan one of the earliest queer characters in Star Wars.
(Apologies for any errors in the summary, this is one of the few characters in this poll I have no personal experience with.)

wait hold on… can u elaborate about the australian slavery situation??? what did it inspire u to write??
Hah, sure! You'll find a lot of it answered in this previous ask!
Basically in Australia if you want a second year on your working holiday visa, you have to do work in some countryside postcodes. The laws have changed around it, but back then (2014?) it was basically a hellscape of modern slavery. There's a horror film about that sort of job actually! Very funny--may not watch lol
I went to a lady who lived in Grafton and who was certified batshit. It was very very bad. I worked without equipment, sometimes ankle deep in mud, in the rain, feeding horses in my bikini because that way I could hose myself down.
I had to carry and lift bags of feed, 25 or 50kg... And make feed at night, boiling it. The room we kept the feed in was a container, and from the moment the sun set, the walls would come alive. tapestry of dancing roaches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's me ^ and the feed 'shed'.
The horses, of course, were great and always good company...
Tumblr media
(that's not me but a fellow slave).
The worst though was not the insects crawling in, the black widows by the dozen, the flying roaches in my face or me having to sic the dogs on nesting mice... It was the barking.
One of the bitches had pups and was underfed. The neighbour threatened to kill her if she didn't stop killing his chickens. So instead of feeding her better, they turned the cage like space I'm in on that first pic, into an improvised kennel for SEVEN dogs. The puppies? Kept alone across the yard.
That bitch barked all night, non stop. It drove me to madness. It drove me to dark, dark places. I considered killing her myself. It was so bad, I eventually wrote a short story where Obi-Wan Kenobi breaks on Kadavo due to sleep deprivation! Then it turned into my first finished long-ish fic fix it, I'm very proud of it lol
He's lifting rocks, pushing carts, choking on his daily portion of mouldy bread, staring into the middle distance. He keeps his thoughts far from the things and people he loves, afraid that handling such precious memories might sully them, taint them with the same revolting grime that mats his hair and cakes under his nails. He feels his soul unravelling. The once thick and vibrant weave of his personality a moth-eaten rag, fraying under his touch. The person he was... The calm, collected man, sometimes to a fault... Sometimes a little too cold and obedient... Where has he gone? Like a shade into darkness, swallowed by something greater than himself.
Anyway, in the middle of that madness I started writing a 'novel' that was very much a vampire romance in which it's not *quite* vampires akchually... But then it evolved into an idea I really cherish, and wish I had the writing chops to work on soon.
So yeah anyway, I was mega broke as in '100$ and nothing else', was not paid, forced to work daily, even wash the family's stuff every day and roll the towels like in a 5 star hotel. I had no car and no money to get a way out.
The crazy horse lady kicked me out with no warning though, and I was rescued by lovely (and deeply racist) people. Before making my way to another horse person, a guy this time, who gave me a camping stove and a mattress in the room at the end of his stables.
I mucked shit every day while listening to Benedict Cumberbatch's reading of Kafka's Metamorphosis. There's a joke somewhere in there.
Here I am, over my pile of shit :
Tumblr media
This is an era of my life where I had no money and no internet banking, and had to ask the cashier to 'please try again' after taking a can out of the shoping, and another can, and another...
I also, tragically, read The Collector, by John Fowles. That book left me so physically distressed, I was sick to my fucking stomach. I picked up the Exorcist to try and wash my palate! But finally I searched for fellow writers online, feeling my sanity was slowly unraveling...
And I found a forum of fantasy and scifi writers who ran a small monthly short story competition! I wrote my first in one day, while mucking stables... Sat at my diner of frozen potatoes and slammed my first 1.5k words short story ever. It featured an immortal gunslinger in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Strong beginings.
You can read most of those short stories here.
I participated almost religiously to this, for years. By the time I entered fanfic-world, I had almost 7 years of this under my belt.
I'm definitely sure it rescued my sanity.

So I’ve been watching the wank about Deborah Chow referring to Obi-Wan and Anakin’s relationship as a “love story dynamic” through Episodes 1-6, and how she hopes to channel that in the series.
“For me, across the prequels, through the original trilogy, there’s a love-story dynamic with these two that goes through the whole thing,” Chow said in the interview with Vanity Fair. “I felt like it was quite hard to not [include] the person who left Kenobi in such anguish in the series… What’s special about that relationship is that they loved each other.”
Well, first things first.... calling Obi and Ani's dynamic a "love story" in an official interview is clearly intended as a non-sexual one. I would go further to say it's not romantic in our modern definition, but would likely fit into "Arthurian romance" with themes of adventure, courtly (chaste) love, and chivalry.
It's interesting to me how the anti-Disney rightwing are REALLY focusing on it as a “gross gay groomer” thing. Bigots and homophobes are using the very idea of Obi and Ani loving eachother as some proof that Disney is “encouraging grooming” and using it to fuel their current boycott.
Meanwhile... anti-shipper, pro-censorship, pro-harassment types are either claiming “people who ship Obikin don't understand Chow meant it to be familial! freaks are taking it wrong!" or they’re taking it literally as the rightwingers are and saying “this is disgusting, I can’t believe they’re making this gross shit canon”. They’re just as furious as the rightwingers, despite being ostensibly left and many of them being queer themselves.
However... it's OBVIOUS TO ME that what Chow said about the story is absolutely true, but it's about these men loving one another PURELY, CHASTELY, NOBLY.
There is actually no way that Chow intended it to mean a sexual romantic relationship. I firmly believe this simply fits along with the recent trend of marketing things as “bromance” or “unconventional love story” between stuff like buddy cop stories, to get clicks and sound like they’re skirting the edge of things, when all they’re doing is showing men loving eachother AS FRIENDS. Which is great as a CONCEPT. You should love your friends!
Is it fun to go "HAHA THE CREATORS SHIP IT! OBIKIN WINS. OBIKIN CANON"? HECK YES. BECAUSE I SHIP IT! BECAUSE IT’S A GREAT DYNAMIC. (my definition of “ship it” is “I simply enjoy thinking about their relationship, and the many permutations of it, specifically in a romantic/sexual way. I don’t particularly care if it becomes canon and I don’t want to pressure the studio to do it, and I also am not a tinhatter, as in I don’t think they wrote it intending to be that way. Well, Matthew Stover’s book is borderline... but I digress.)
Do I actually believe they're going to make them queer and IN LOVE with eachother? Of course not. Like, literally, they NEVER intend that. And I won’t be disappointed! I like the canon relationship AS IT IS! But watching people get bent out of shape and super homophobic and calling people names and attack others over this is wild.
It’s canon that Obi-Wan cares deeply for Anakin, and if you look at the movies 1-6 arc alone, it’s really evident that their relationship as it exists is VERY IMPORTANT for the entire Star Wars narrative. Obi-Wan ignores the warning signs of Anakin going darkside because he’s attached. He cares about Anakin. He’s BIASED, and he’s a Jedi and they’re supposed to be above attachment, above bias. Meanwhile, when Anakin is manipulated into thinking that Padme and Obi-Wan were having an affair or conspiring or keeping secrets or turning Padme against Anakin... Anakin is SO DEEPLY HURT by that because he trusts Obi-Wan. He loves Obi-Wan and he is sure Obi-Wan feels the same. The betrayal is so much worse because he trusted him, loved him.
The script and novels make it more overt, since we can’t see what’s inside a characters mind onscreen, but it’s still there.
Obi-Wan goes to Tatooine to watch over Luke, Anakin’s son. He does this out of love. Once again, it’s NOT SEXUAL LOVE. Not in the canon. But simply saying they love eachother isn’t sexual, and I’m sick of people getting hostile over it.
I’m very intrigued to watch the upcoming show, because making sure the canon love is expressed there as PART of the reasons for the anguish sounds like a REALLY COMPELLING story.
(I love that she said ANGUISH, I want these men to SUFFER)

I found you on twitter and I want to say you look to me like a nice and kind person, horniness aside 😉🍆
Would you mind to tell in which order I must read stars wars novels? I have an extra income and those books will be my Christmas present, to me for me
Gracias y felices fiestas!!
Hello, Anon!
😏 I strive to bring the horny in all things, haaaa! Thanks for the message.
I’m delighted that you reached out to ask about … STAR WARS BOOKS!
I am assuming that you are looking for books that spotlight Obi-Wan and Anakin (where the obikin is blatant between the lines 😉).
Here are some suggestions, and in the order I recommend reading them. All can be purchased / found as digital downloads, or bought in paper.
1. WILD SPACE. Karen Miller is an obikin goddess, and if you enjoy Obi-Wan whump… HOLY HELL, she delivers. Obi-Wan is brutalized emotionally and physically and … 😵‍💫 it makes me pant 🥵 because I’m unhinged like that.
Tumblr media
2. The two “Gambit” books, also by Karen Miller. These are a Kenobi and Skywalker adventure where they go undercover, off-world together and the whump is served to them both BIG TIME. Plus, lots of bonding 🥲
Tumblr media
3. Mathew Stover’s “ROTS” novelization. BY THE FORCE. You will sob incessantly and incoherently, but the OBIKIN IS STRONG AF.
Tumblr media
4. DARK DISCIPLE. Okay, this is a Quinlan Vos story, but it’s effin GOOD. And there are some charming Kenobi and Skywalker scenes.
Tumblr media
5. Jude Watson wrote eleven “Jedi Quest” books highlighting Kenobi x Skywalker adventures throughout Anakin’s Padawan days. The bonding is ♥️🥹😭 10 of these can be found as digital downloads, one of them (the first one, simply called “Jedi Quest”) can’t be, it’s physical only. My favorite one is called “THE MOMENT OF TRUTH”.
Tumblr media
Honorable mention. Kit Fisto is my all time favorite Jedi💚 and —while he is a hero in loads of comics— the book “The Cestus Deception” (by Steven Barnes) takes the cake! OMG! Barnes just made me fall head-over-heels for Fisto. He writes him so beautifully and and sexily and gahhhhh!!! Fun fact— the audiobook of this (I own this in physical, digital and audio because I’m a freak) is read by actor, Jonathan Davis, and let me tell you…. His “Fisto voice” is so effen sexy that I turn into a horny puddle when he speaks. AHHHHHH!!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 I’m rambling now😵‍💫🥵😵‍💫🥵
Tumblr media
I have read dozens and dozens of SW comics and books, from Windu and Palps stories to Ahsoka, even the secret romance of Obi-Wan and Siri. My mind is actually a minefield of random SW knowledge 😅 so I’m thrilled to make any suggestions anytime (or make you horny 🍆)

Fic tag game!
Finally getting a chance to sit down and fill this out! I've been so excited to, so thanks to @virahaus for the tag <3
How many works do you have on ao3?
I have 39 works (many of them wips... lol) and I also have two fics in the @topwan-obikin fest which I am very excited about! And posting has officially started so everyone should go and check out all the amazing fics that are coming out of it!
What's your ao3 word count?
442,495..... wow! I hadn't realized I'd written that much :O
What fandoms do you write for?
*cracks knuckles* a lot lol right now I am really into writting for Obikin (top Obi and bottom Ani), but I also write for a very large variety of other fandoms, some being Star Trek (Mckirk), Merlin (merthur), 911 (Buddie), Avengers (Stucky), Stranger Things (Steve/Eddie), Supernatural which i have a lot of fics for (Destiel), Teen Wolf (Sterek), I also write some pairings for various Kpop groups, not that I ship them outside of the group. I know that probably doesnt make sense lol, but I kind of see them inside the group as characters in a way, but then outside of the groups I am always so happy for my boys no matter what they do :D
What are your top five fics by kudos?
I'm also going to post the links here XD
Family Christmas - (Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz, 9-1-1, word count 1911, kudos 540) Summary: Bucks been working with the 118 for over a year now, but they still don’t know anything about him, including who drew the beautiful pictures that now have a special place of honour in Buck’s locker.
Unwrap Me - (Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz, 9-1-1, word count 3742, kudos 426) Summary: It’s the day after Christmas and Eddie’s alone in the house and bored out of his mind, so he decides to go to Buck’s apartment. What he finds there is not exactly what he was expecting, but he’s definitely not complaining.
All I Want For Christmas is You - (Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz, 9-1-1, word count 7905, kudos 402) Summary: Eddie’s mom and ex-wife are up to no good at his Abuela’s Christmas Eve party, good thing Buck proposed he go to the party as Eddie fake date to keep them at bay.
A Magic Kingdom Love - (Dean Winchester/Castiel, Supernatural, word count 15,300, kudos 283) Summary: Dean and Cas are both working for Disney and have been cast as the very first gay princes. And at first they hate each other but it’s hard to pretend you’re in love all day for sweet, shy kids, and then not makeout under the bridge of the magic kingdom castle.
The Will of the Force - (Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars, word count 93,820, Kudos 249) This fic is almost complete, I think it will have one more chapter! Summary: What if Obi-wan hadn't been granted permission to train Anakin in the ways of the Force? What if Qui-Gon hadn't perished during the battle with Darth Maul? How differently would things have turned out?
Do you respond to comments?
I always do! I love reading comments, they inspire me and keep me going, and I love responding back to let the readers know how much I appreciate them <3
What's the fic you write with the happiest ending?
Honestly all of my fics have a happy ending. In my original novels I'm a bit more open to having an ending thats not so happy, so when I write for fandoms I usually write happy endings. But I would say The Will of the Force will have a very happy ending, and Lost in Translation which is a Star Trek Mckirk fic will also have a happy ending even though the plot is a bit angsty.
Do you get hate on fics?
Oh, story time. So when I first started writing for fandoms, one of the first fics I wrote and posted for was Supernatural, and I was writing this very long Destiel series that involved an original character named Sara. And I was really nervous about posting, but forced myself to do it anyways, and for some reason this person decided to read the first few chapters of the first fic in the series and she destroyed it. She had deemed herself the "official fanfic.net critique" and in her bio had even gone as far as to put that it should be considered an honour to have her pick apart your fanfics. So she decided that she did not like the inclusion of my OC Sara and told me that it was completely unessesary for her to be in the story, started to demand that I re-write the fic and remove the OC, then repost it again for her to re-evaluate, and then proceeded to destroy the ret of my fic and the writing, to the point where I became very discouraged and didn't write for like two years after that. Long story short, I am now at the point where I don't care what anyone thinks of my writing. If you like it, great! Come along on the journey with me and we can enjoy it together, and if you don't like what I'm writing then that's perfectly fine too. Not every piece of writing is for everyone, but if you don't have anything nice to say then please keep it to yourself and find something you do like to read.
Anyway, rant over. lol
Do you write smut? What kind?
Yes, I definitly do lol. Most of my fics have at least one scene.
Do you write cross-overs?
Yes! I love crossovers. In my AO3 right now I have one crossover called Running with the Wolves which is a Maze runner and Teen Wolf crossover with Sterek being the main pairing.
Aside from that I have a few crossovers in my WIP's folder
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, and I hope to never experience it.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, but maybe one day, I am open to the idea. I'm just so busy right now, I would hate to hold someone up who's a faster writer then me.
What's your all time favourite ship?
It changes regularly lol, but right now my favourite ship is back and forth between Obikin and Woosan.
What's your WIP you like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have a lot of WIP's, and I hate to think that I wouldn't finish one because I have the intention to finish them all. But I guess I would say the one thats at the bottom of my list right now are probably my Avengers fics.
What are your writing strengths?
I have no idea lol But I do usually get compliments on my smut scenes and I'm oretty good at writing angst.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I always struggle with description between narratives. I have no trouble with the dialogue, but the actions that the characters are doing between the narrative is what always gets me.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I have written a few small sentences here and there in other languages. Mostly Korean, and then I have also written a bit in Elvish, Not sure if that counts but I've done it.
First fandom you wrote for?
I want to say Merlin/Merthur was the first fandom I wrote for, and Supernatural/Destiel was the first fandom I posted for... I think lol
Favourite fic you've ever written?
Oh, that's a hard one... I'm pretty fond of The Will of the Force, and I would say that outside of the Star Wars fandom I also really love Lost in Translation for the Star Trek fandom.
But I do have a few WIP's that I'm really excited for that will hopefully be coming soon. Both of them are Pirate AU's, and one of them is for Star Wars (Obikin) and the other is for Woosan (Ateez, Wooyoung/San).
This was so fun! Thanks again for the tag <3
Not sure who to tag, but anyway don't feel obligated to do it if you'd rather not!

20 Question Fic Writer Tag
Thank you so much @impossibleprincess35 and @scottysketches for the tag!!
How many works do you have on AO3? Nine! But two or three are sitting in varying states of completeness on my computer.
What is your AO3 word count? 25,536
What fandoms do you write for? Only Star Wars!
What are your top five fics by kudos? I'd Keep You Here With Me (113 kudos) Her Boy (69 kudos) All That I Can Do Is Done and Reprieve (both have 43 kudos) Empty Air (37 kudos) She is Indeed (29 kudos)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do! I will admit though, I am a little bit slow to respond to comments sometimes. I always do get through them all and respond, even if it takes me a little longer (I think it's an anxiety thing). But I see them come through my email and I totally freak out and get really excited. I appreciate them so much.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I'd say both All That I Can Do is Done and Her Boy are super angsty. ATICDIS is about Obi-Wan reflecting on his love for Satine while he is on Tatooine after the fall of the Republic. Her Boy is about Obi-Wan's mother following his career as a Jedi through radio broadcasts, and eventually finding out about the fall of the Jedi and his (presumed) death. Both of those fics actually made me cry while writing them.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think I'd Keep You Here With Me has a relatively happy ending? IKYHWM is about Padme, Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan just shooting the shit for a bit and drinking tea in Padme's office. Reprieve has a slightly less happy ending but is still somewhat optimistic. Also, Empty Air is a pretty fluffy collection of one-shots about the Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Satine Year on the Run. For the most part, those are light and happy. Side Sleepers is pretty sweet.
Do you get hate on fics? At this time, no.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I haven't written any smut. I enjoy it in other fics but I haven't really found a natural place for it in any of my own. Maybe one day!
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Nope!
Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, thankfully. At least not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated? I haven't, but I'd be all for it if anyone ever offered! How cool.
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? No, never, but I'd be all over it if the opportunity presented itself.
What's your all-time favorite ship? Oh man, all-time?? I am really unhinged about my love for Satine Kryze and Obi-Wan Kenobi on their own, which means I'm really unhinged about Obitine. They're the ship that I've written the most for and read the most about, so I think Obitine wins this one. I also really love Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann from SW High Republic. There just isn't as much about them outside of the novels.
What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will? Empty Air is the only WIP, but I AM GOING TO FINISH IT, DAMMIT.
What are your writing strengths? I like to think that I'm good at emotional stuff. Star Wars makes me feel SO MUCH and I always hope that that comes through. I really love the process of working the language of a story to be more vivid so the characters experience something beyond just sadness or just happiness. I like digging to find something a little deeper than that.
What are your writing weaknesses? I take a reallyyyy long time to finish writing fics. I will sit on a fic for weeks and MONTHS because I really want it to be right, so I just think and think and think about it and write and re-write and then stop for a while and then I forget about it, and then I pick it up again. I recently participated in Obitine Week 2023 and wrote three fics and published them the same day, which was a really nice challenge. I'm proud of all three of those so it was a nice reminder that I can produce something I like and not have it take so long.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I've included some Mando'a in my fics but that's it. And even just a few small phrases were time-consuming (such as lararyc jai’galaar: "drunk shriekhawk"), so I really admire the writers who can do huge passages of Mando'a.
First fandom you wrote for? My first in-depth, detailed fic was for Star Wars. But I remember when I was a kid writing what I would later realize were fics about the movies and shows I watched. They were just little stories, and I can't remember exactly what the first was. So I'll just say SW.
Favorite fic you've ever written? Man, that's tough. I love all my fics with my whole heart, but I will probably have to go with All That I Can Do Is Done. As I said earlier, it really hit me emotionally. I think I learned a lot while writing that fic as well.
Ah, I'm sorry I took so long to complete this! I saw the tags and only just got around to doing it. I feel like everyone I follow has done this already, but if you'd like to complete this and haven't been tagged, please consider this your tag! I'd love to read them!

in agony over the fact the chip thing was retconned after matthew stover wrote the rots novelization because i would fling my body into the sun at least 7 times directly in a row to get a part calling back (in vibes at minimum) to the "this is obi-wan kenobi" and "this is anakin skywalker" parts when the order comes through. really drag out the tragedy of what's about to happen. make it about cody and his feelings about his brother and his general and the jedi and the republic, for just one second, before it gets snuffed out by designs set in motion before he even drew breath. i want it so bad

If you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
This is a bit difficult for me because I am very particular about my romances. It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that I myself don’t really want romance, so I’ve always gravitated to two types of couples. The type who are best friends / old married couples, ie: they’re comfortable with each other and know each other well, or the type who are almost immediately rabidly obsessed with each other. Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham come to mind.
I like couples where the woman plays the masculine role and the man plays the feminine one. (Mouri Ran and Kudou Shinichi are my primary example for this, because Ran is a Karate champion who can punch throw concrete and commonly acts more as a guard for other characters than a damsel and Shinichi is melodramatic and fixates on details and has a real talent for saying rude things in a cutesy voice. They’re each other’s hero a lot, rhey save one another a lot, and I like that dynamic of theirs)
I don’t really understand attraction based on sexual interest. Like, I don’t understand wanting to date someone just for sex. I get why people want to have sex, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t understand why people would ask someone out just for sex? Like, if you just want sex, just ask for sex straight out. Why’ve you gotta date for a while? I don’t really get it.
All that being said, my favourite couples are either very boring or extremely bizarre. I admit as much.
Like, I very much enjoy Marth / Caeda from Fire Emblem. They know each other and Marth got his little circlet from her and they have some very cute interactions! On the other hand, I also ship Marth / Michalis because Michalis made an offhand comment all of once about finding Marth terrible but begrudingly respecting him and all I could think of was “slowburn, enemies-to-lovers, 250k words)
I ship a lot of things and I ship characters with multiple other characters and I ship polycules. It’s pretty rare that I find a ship I actively dislike, actually. I’m just a bit too easygoing about it all. Even if I’m uninterested in a ship, I can be convinced if there’s cute art or something.
Ah, I miss the days when people wrote essays on why they shipped characters. I know it was mostly for queer romances, but those always helped me interpret what others saw as romantic. So many of those posts were so detailed and fun to read. Even if two characters barely interacted, I loved reading someone’s essay on why they ship them. Even if characters have never interacted, I enjoyed reading essays on why they would make an interesting couple.
I know this didn’t really answer the question, but I honestly struggle with listing what ships I enjoy. There are too many of them, quite frankly, and some of them are couples that I just ship in a queerplatonic way that toes the line between platonic and romantic.
That being said, here are some of my favourite queerplatonic ships:
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn. My favourite dynamic for them was in the novel Cloak of Deception. It mentioned their size difference a lot, which I really enjoy (Obi-Wan is not tiny! They just kept putting Ewan Mcgregor next to giants! He is average height, honestly) But most importantly, it portrayed their relationship as Qui-Gon getting distracted by something for a few minutes only to whip around and look around for his Padawan wildly. This man has left Obi-Wan at a gas station before. They snark at each other and are just overall very comfortable with each other and the whole thing makes me very happy, I wish there were fics based on this dynamic (aside from my own)
Qui-Gon Jinn and Luke Skywalker. These two have never met. They do not know each other. Qui-Gon dies long before Luke was born and nobody ever mentions Qui-Gon to Luke. But, and I’ve said this before, they are oddly similar and I think it would be fun to watch them hang out. They are like two tuning forks ringing in perfect harmony. They are so similar, they are a mirror to each other, and I love the idea of them bonding over plants.
Furuya Rei and Kudou Shinichi. I don’t know how to describe their dynamic. They are suspicious of each other. They trust each other with their lives. Conan can tell that Amuro (Furuya) isn’t who he says he is. Furuya can tell that Conan isn’t who he says he is. They bond over stupid things. Furuya gets stalked for his ham sandwich recipe. Conan cannot believe that this man is this stupid. I don’t know, I like their dynamic. I like Furuya taking one look at Conan and saying “what a suspicious lil guy. I’m going to feed him in hopes that he returns like a stray cat.” It is very fun to read and to write.
I suppose you could say that my favourite ships, romantic or otherwise, are ones where they will sit across from each other in comfortable silence.
And I like ones that are mutually insane. Again, Hannibal and Will. Hannibal in the Red Dragon (novel) gets so upset that Will dared to not give him his phone number and home address that he figured out Will’s home address for the sole purpose to send a serial killer to his door out of petty revenge. When Will gets stabbed in the face at the end of the book and is in the hospital, Hannibal writes him a letter that ends with “I hope you aren’t ugly now.” In Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter meets the first woman he’s been able to have any contact with in literal years, and his first question is “Where’s Will Graham? If they’re going to send someone to pick my brain, they’re going to send Will Graham. Where is he?” (He is in Florida drinking beer and ignoring Crawford’s increasingly desperate phone calls)
Hope this is somewhat what you were looking for.

Mike Chen wrote the line, “Dex straightened up, his massive shoulders suddenly looking like mountains as he stood behind the bar,” and I haven’t been the fucking same since.
He had an opportunity to put Dex into an Obi-Wan Kenobi novel, looked at how charming Dex has been from the word “go,” and decided that it wasn’t enough; Dex had to be hot.
And he was right.

Also just a few questions to get to know you!
What got you into writing? Which Oscar media did you first watch? And who’s your favourite blorbo? 🥰
Hiiiii thanks for the questions!
What got you into writing? I've been writing since I was a middle schooler. I had several pen pals, kept a journal and wrote terrible poems. One of my out-of-town friends and I would mail each other poem and story notebooks. I still have one to this day (she is by far the superior writer). Then I started writing some fandom stuff ages ago on other sites. I took a very long break. When I saw Moon Knight - you know when you see a film or tv show and something in you stirs and you're like - this is gonna wreck me. I'm gonna stalk it so hard lol. I've been on tumblr forever, but I still held off posting until a year after the show ended. Idk why. But I read and read and read - there are so many good writers on here.
sorry that was long
Which Oscar media did you first watch? The Nativity Story, not right when it came out, but after. I remember thinking that Joseph was kind of cute, which made me feel weird ok. And thinking that his performance was the only real standout in kind of a bland film? But I forgot about him. I saw him in Drive and The Bourne Legacy and was like, who is this guy, he is so interesting. Saw Ex Machina and really liked that but it still wasn't totally registering for me. Then he got cast as Poe and I was like ohhhh yeah I know that guy.
And who’s your favourite blorbo? I'm real bad on my Oscar kick (who am i kidding, it's been years). Specifically, Marc Spector is the love of my life. I love Steven and Poe as well. Obi-Wan Kenobi. I had a lengthy Ewan McGregor phase and I still watch most anything he does. Had a long time love of Sam and Dean from Supernatural too. But all time?? Mulder and Scully! They are my babes and I would die for them.
Sorry for the novel. What about you? If you feel like answering. Now, I think I saw some sort of Oxford Comma playlist but I was posting a one-shot, so I'm just gonna go... *runs*
