Giratina's Temple and the Celestica Ruins
aka Giratina/platinum clan theory is back (also sorry for using mspaint lmao)
Tumblr media
So we all know about the Shrouded Ruins, yeah?
(This is the only spoiler warning for Pokemon Legends: Arceus you're gonna get)
Spooky. Ever-cloaked in mists and mystery, surrounded by black-stoned cairns like graves and home to the giant Odd Keystone that once (?) housed 108 souls. Very ghost-centric.
Well what if I told you it was a temple?
Tumblr media
Greco-roman temples (and, problematic or otherwise the celestica are absolutely greco-roman coded) are constructed relatively uniformly, with an outer later of columns holding up the roof and an inner layer holding up an internal structure, providing additional support, ect.
Tumblr media
We have a perfect in-game model to project from, too, in the Temple of Sinnoh (pre-explosion). You can see that some of the smaller columns are sometimes decorative - likely they held up torches or, in the case of the two nearest the 'altar,' offerings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So knowing that style and having the remaining structures we do see in-game, we can approximate a lay out of what the building may have looked like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What makes this a temple, however, is more open to interpretation. My evidence to support that it is is actually the blue-tinged pedestals seen within the outline of the building - the place(s) of honor in any temple. Irl, the inner structure - the cella - was often fully-walled in, though sometimes this was constructed via wood and other materials that don't withstand time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, ENORMOUS shout-out to pokemaniacchris and the incredible Crimson Mirelands Archeological Survey Project for a really detailed, in-character breakdown of the ruins structures throughout the mirelands. I can only assume the 'surveyors' hadn't reached Mt. Coronet yet in their explorations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pedestals like these (at least superficially similar) are found beneath dozens of statues around Mt. Coronet, including beneath Giratina, Palkia and Dialga in the Sacred Plaza area. Now, I know I'm supposed to be claiming that this is a temple to Giratina, but if we work on the assumption that the four pedestals corollate with Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus, a new conclusion can, perhaps, be drawn:
That whoever built this temple saw all four of them on the same 'level' of power or -- and this is my hc taking over -- if the statues were placed in a certain orientation (see below) that they saw Arceus and Giratina on equal footing, with Dialga and Palkia one rank below.
Tumblr media
And there is, imo, more evidence to support this disruption of the 'creation trio' into two pairs on equal footing, found in the Celestica Ruins! So, among the structures there are two notable, circular buildings that the Greeks also utilized, called tholoi (plural). Irl, tholoi were a mix of secular-use and small-scale temples, and seeing as these two are small (maybe 10ft across inside?) I would maintain the claim that they're small temples.
And they align/mirror each other just as the statues of Palkia and Dialga do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part becomes pure conjecture, but I like to think the smaller structures in the ruins might be other small-scale temples for the various mythicals, honoring each much as the Greeks honored a pantheon.
Tumblr media
Lastly, the CMASP describes the "Gapejaw Bog Complex" as being potentially an entire agora all its own and I can't agree more. Such evidence would support the idea of there being two groups of Celestica (Note: Not the Clans.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually found myself wondering if the mirelands weren't always quite so swampy, and instead flooded at some point in the past with the depressions around Gapejaw - left by housing foundations - filled in with swamp water.
At the end of the day, I think there's a lot of evidence that the Celestica revered Giratina as well as Arceus, Dialga and Palkia - at least early on. Something happened to cause this schism, and the Old Verses/Plate inscriptions point to an outburst of rage from Giratina -- though, in "pick a god (and pray)" I actually argue it was mispercieved on the part of the Celestica and this misperception is what caused Arceus to despair and withdraw.
Open to discussion!! fellow nerds please interact!!

Extremely strange question, but can we get a recipe for Roasted Grandpaw? Or at least like what other ingredients and/or flavors it includes? Obsessed with the real world concepts of culturally significant foods/holiday traditions(which often includes special meals bc such is being a living being, loving Good Food) and if I remember correctly this is the only one you've showcased with a specific source event
Roasted Grandpaw is a special treat, honoring SkyClan's History! It can be made year-round, but has a special place in their version of an "independence day."
The traditional ingredients are;
Large Rat (for the rat ancestors)
Mushroom Gravy (for Cloudstar’s journey)
Kibble (for Spiderstar's plan)
You take the rat, skin it, and remove the offal. This is chopped and sauteed in the mushroom gravy. Meanwhile, you take your kibble and add it to a boiling bone broth, until it becomes fat and juicy.
Then, combine the sauteed offal and the marinated kibble, mixing them up nicely. Stuff this back into the raw rat, and then bake. The juices of the meat soak into the stuffing, and the whole rat will sizzle.
Apply extra juice as it bakes, so it doesn't dry. Firestar, leader of BarbequeClan, taught them this very important skill.
Usually served with extra mushroom gravy.

Moon^2 is fun and all but what's stopping us from including the Moonstone as well. Sure it was shattered during Greystripe's Vow but it doesn't mean that the remaining shards aren't still there. Why not have Moonpaw go out to the old territories to bring some of the shards back so we can have Moon^3

There's a dead man wandering the wastes. He wears nothing of the clans, his own symbols unusual and foreign.
He's lost, and the zoroark thus have claim.
They watch.
Lost, roaming, hungry. They've seen it all before, know every sign. He barely shivers anymore. He doesn't see them, settled into the fog as they are.
They watch as he stumbles into other pokemon, getting chased off, too slow and clumsy. Stupid.
They watch as he walks with no clear goal. Through land that is not his.
The thing about ghosts, about staying past death, is there are rules.
They shepherd him until the flickering light of the clan's lanterns are visible on the horizon. There must always be an option. They set their trap.
A kit, illusioned to look frail and hurt, buried half in the snow. No human could resist scooping it up and wringing its neck. They know. They've seen.
And the man stops. Croons. Leans down, takes the kit in his arms, gentle. They watch as he tucks the kit into his coat. They watch as every touch he lays upon it is soft. They watch as he turns to the lights, and starts taking the kit towards it.
Inviting a massacre.
So very stupid.
Sharing his precious body heat to bring a trophy, how foul.
It is night, which means there is no one outside when he reaches the camp. This is changed by his howls.
The zoroark don't understand words.
They understand intent.
The man does not cry for victory.
They watch.
Clan members stumble out of their tents. Woken, with spears.
They see the stupid man, and they point their weapons at him.
His booming voice falters. The clan speaks a tune the zoroark have always heard: back, back, beast, monster, wrong, dangerous, evil.
Back, back.
Get out.
The man cries again, help, help, hurt child. A child has been hurt. It needs help.
And like a zoroark, he is exiled from the camp in seconds.
Unlike a zoroark, he does not try to burn it down.
He tucks the kit more firmly into his coat, and resumes his aimless travel.
They watch.
He finds some too-small winter berries. He feeds two to the kit, pockets the rest. He does not bother for himself.
They are... curious.
A kit or two slips out of the mist. Play the eager foolish mutt, like the garish things begging at clan heels. He kneels, and gives the rest of his meager food away but one. One, which goes not to him, but the kit again.
The zorua pretend that they don't know the fog rolling in is full of claws. They yap and pull at his clothing, urging him into the woods. He follows. Stupid.
The zorua lead him to the den.
The first kit slips out of his arms, illusion falling away. It slips into the mist, convenes with them. A burgeoning mass of confused hatred.
He does not run.
Stupid. If they knew the word, it would be kind.
The Mother wakes.
.
Iridia shivers. Not from the cold, not even in the pitch of a new moon.
Unintelligible almost-words ring in her ears. A human sort of emotion choking behind the animal tongue.
It has been a long time since the zoroark have gotten so bold as to encroach upon the camp.
In a strange form, too. Too tall, too long. Dressed in no clothes she'd ever seen. Its illusion falling apart at the seams — reflective eyes, even the glimmer of a third. White hands. Blood dripping from the everpresent spiritual wounds.
Its own mane bursting from its chest.
Something was very, very wrong with it.
Iridia isn't a fool. She had seen the fogbank surrounding the camp. If they were to send their elders here to die, she would have no part in it. She knows better than to invite that malice.
It would be a trap, either way.
Still, she mourns. The hatred, its festering. She thinks of the senile zoroark, and she does not sleep.

I have wanted to draw Adaman and Irida for a long time because of their appearance in the game Pokemon Masters EX. The desire increased with the implementation of Photomontages and their modern dancing clothes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 2: https://www.tumblr.com/laadep/747924999471546368/
If you think about it: Adaman would be the ancestor of Perrin and Maxie. While Irida would be the ancestor of Archie. Paulo's thing is a crazy thought of mine because they look similar to me.
In the game Irida's alternative clothes are cyan and blue. While her alternative dancing clothes are lylac/violet like Paulo's clothes.
Tumblr media
In the game I have Adaman and Irida (with modern clothes). I still have to get Paulo and normal Irida from the Gacha. Gotta save enough Diamonds for that.
Photomontages i did from the game.

Also Jayfeather behaving like that while being a doctor is like, an actual hazard. That type of behavior leads to patients to avoiding going to checkups, hiding their symptoms and being evasive in general because they don’t want their doctors yelling at them and treating them like idiots. I used to like Jay a lot, but he himself knows what it’s like to be condescend to, so it surprises me that he would act like that. I guess the writing team just doesn’t know how to treat his snappish nature in a balanced, even though they did manage with Yellowfang (even before Briarlight died, he yelled at twigkit and told her she deserved to feel bad and Briarlight was literally there trying to give her warmth, and I also can’t blame the new writing team completely because during the last omen of the stars book he literally calls Briarlight an idiot for being pregnant when the dark forest is near like she was willingly putting herself at risk or something) Also imo a lot of cats probably ask or wait for Alderheart, especially kits
My personal theory is that they wanted to recapture the same energy that Yellowfang had: a grumpy, snarky medic who was and still is a fan favorite but they had no one to bounce his energy off of and had him going way too harsh and then writing other cats to roll their eyes and go "oh jayfeather!"
just for more personal reasons, cats avoiding the healer's den just because of him rubbed me the wrong way. i do not like that, erins, it does not endear this character to me it just makes him look like a dick in a position of power.

We have two series about freaking PACMAN and they're both 40+ episodes. And you're telling me CASTLEVANIA didnt have enough plot to make less than 40 episodes ?? CASTLEVANIA ????
You're really trying to tell me that someone had the inspiration to create a whole ass cartoon about pacman with only "yellow circle flees from and eats ghosts" as a premise, but "an ancestral clan trapped in a cycle of violence, trauma and grief must defeat the Dark Lord Dracula, the most powerful being to have ever existed, every 100 years. They cant escape their fate, for they are the only men capable of killing him, due to their superhuman abilities and their main weapon, the Vampire Killer, wich both have been passed down for generations since Leon Belmont, the Dark Lord's old friend, who sworn for his clan to hunt him for eternity." Is "NOT ENOUGH PLOT" ???
AND THIS IS JUST A SHORT, GLOBAL SUMMARY. THERE'S SO MUCH MORE TO CASTLEVANIA CHARACTERS AND GAMES.
Y'all need to stop insulting the original media to defend your stuff (wich wouldnt exist without said media). Dare I say, if you need to bring the games down to lift the serie up, then there's a problem with your serie. And you also need to stop giving stupid excuses to incompetent writers.
Castlevania has a heart, it was possible to make a serie out of it without butchering it.

I’m Thinkin about that one post where it’s like “you’re living in more luxury than your ancestors could ever dream of they’d be proud of you” and because I have rottmnt brain rot it’s like:
Splinter: I abandoned my duties as a Hamato and have wasted my life and now I’m an old rat man who didn’t even teach his sons properly, my ancestors must be rolling in their graves :(
Hamato ancestors who dedicated their lives to stopping the shredder: Even though our descendant strayed from the path he did his best for his family and raised his children well and we’re still proud of him
Hamato ancestors who were like, farmers and peasants: *cheering wildly as splinter eats his third slice of cake*
