My Personal Library

I have been thinking of keeping only the books that I really like and plan to reread on my shelves. Make it look more me, you know (such a cliche). I realized that I still have a lot of books to read and some to get rid off. Because of this I decided to make a list to get updated of books I want to keep. SÉANCE #13 : Bilan du cours

S’informer à l’ère du numérique ne se fait pas uniquement par les médias traditionnels comme la télévision, les journaux ou la radio. Aujourd’hui, notre téléphone cellulaire est l’extension de notre bras. Via Facebook, Twitter et Instagram, nous sommes inondés d’articles nous résumant l’actualité de toutes les manières possibles. Étant une grande consommatrice d’Internet, le cours Médias numériques et société m’a grandement ouvert les yeux sur les facettes plus « obscures » de cet outil, que je ne constatais pas auparavant.

Ce cours a été un réel baume pour ma session, mais également pour les années à venir. J’ai grandement appris sur le monde numérique. D’ailleurs, un sujet m’a particulièrement frappé : les fausses nouvelles. Ce terme, communément appelé fake news, est un réel fléau bombardant quotidiennement nos fils d’actualité. Selon l’Office québécois de la langue française, une fausse nouvelle est une « publication qui imite la structure d'un article de presse, qui comprend à la fois des renseignements véridiques et des renseignements erronés » (2018 : En ligne). C’est pourquoi cette nouvelle paraît si vraie. Ce n’est pas toute l'information qui se retrouve dans la nouvelle qui est fausse, ce qui la rend difficile à départager. Avec la facilité et la rapidité de publication, tout le monde est en mesure de publier des informations erronées. Afin de lutter contre cette problématique, le Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Le Devoir, 2018) et le professeur au Département de communication sociale et publique de l’UQAM, Alexandre Coutant, s’entendent sur une chose : il faut éduquer les internautes (Radio-Canada, 2018). Il faut être en mesure de vérifier les sources d’informations et user de son jugement.

Pour terminer, avant ce cours, je croyais indubitablement que les nouvelles divulguées sur les fils d’actualités étaient véridiques. Or, avec les connaissances que ce cours m’a apportées, je suis maintenant plus vigilante. Enfin, je suis ravie d’avoir suivi ce cours rempli de sujets d’actualités intimement liés à notre domaine d’étude. Merci!

EDENTOURDIARY - LYON - 23 et 24 NOVEMBRE

Cette idée de jouer Eden avec l’orchestre symphonique de Lyon à germé il y a plus d‘un an, lors de la rencontre entre mon manager Pierre Alexandre Vertadier et Marc Cardonel, programmateur artistique de l’auditorium de Lyon et de la Philarmonie de Paris. L’idée était très excitante et faisait totalement sens avec le côté électro orchestral de album. J’ai accepté l’aventure et un long travail d’écriture a commencé. Stéphane Gassot est parti des arrangements originaux de David Whitaker pour réécrire les arrangements de l’orchestre et a fait un travail remarquable.

Nous arrivons à l’Auditorium, salle magnifique, alors que l’orchestre fait sa première répétition sans le groupe. Ils jouent « Soudain » et ça me met les larmes aux yeux. Je pense fort à David Whitaker, qui a écrit ces magnifiques arrangements. Puis rencontre avec l’incroyablement sympathique maestro, Dirk Brossé et avec l’orchestre. L’accueil et l’équipe de la salle sont vraiment chaleureux et tout démarre sous les meilleurs auspices.

Puis répétitions avec le groupe. Nous nous retrouvons de nouveau confrontés aux problèmes acoustiques due à la puissance du groupe et du style de nos arrangements, dans une salle conçue pour le classique. Damien Bertrand notre ingénieur du son est concentré. Nous jouons tous les soirs dans des configurations qui n’ont strictement rien à voir les unes avec les autres et c’est pour lui comme pour nous tous, musiciens et équipe technique, un challenge quotidien à relever.

Ici, la batterie prend beaucoup d’espace, couvre l’orchestre et les basses vrombissent. Damien passe patiemment toute la journée a corriger cela. Le soir nous faisons une unique balance entre l’orchestre et le groupe. Je suis hyper confort au niveau du son, ce qui est hyper agréable pour chanter et très rassurant pour le lendemain. Nous finissons tard et nous sommes tous lessivés. Je file m’écrouler avec bonheur à l’hôtel Maia, qui est sublime et ou le personnel adorable me chouchoute tout le séjour durant.

Je me réveille en forme. Mon épisode viral est passé et je ne tousse presque plus. A 11heures, répétitions des quelques titres qui semblent perfectibles au niveau de l’orchestre. Je retrouve mon ancien manager Pierre Carron et le réalisateur Fabien Raymond qui à déjà superbement filmé mon concert à Pleyel en 2008 et qui va capter le concert de ce soir. Nous réglons les éclairages de Victorien pour les adapter au tournage. Pour que l’image soit bonne, il faut m’éclairer davantage que sur les concerts habituels ce qui ne m’enchante pas du tout. Je corrige aussi certains éclairages qui à l’image me font passer en trois secondes de 30 à 90 ans. Puis je m’enquiers du protocole pour préparer la présentation de l’orchestre, du maestro et peaufine les remerciements. Ce soir nous ne jouerons pas « Warm Leatherette » ni « Get Off my Case » pour des raisons de durée du show, mais aussi pour finir sur une chanson avec l’orchestre. Le dernier titre sera donc « X amours » et c’est très bien de finir là dessous.

J’essaie de dormir un peu l’après midi, mais sans succès. Le trac des grands jours monte sournoisement. Entre toutes les préparations, les répétitions, je n’ai pas arrêté de parler et ma voix est un peu fatiguée. Je me prépare lentement. Stretch, vocalises, je ne peux rien avaler, je ne dinerai pas.

Laurie qui est mon ange gardien a fait ressemeler mes chaussures chéries. Ce sont des boots hautes qui mettent trois plombes à lacer, très solides, créées par Hedi Slimane et que j’ai porté à tous mes concerts sans exception, depuis le « Réévolution Tour » en 2004. Je ne peux rien porter d’autre pour monter sur scène et elles commençaient à faire un peu la tronche. Mais là, ce cordonnier béni à fait des miracles et elles sont comme neuves.

Pierre René Worms mon ami et photographe qui me suit depuis les premières Transmusicales, soit 40 ans (OMG), est venu faire des images, comme il le fait à chacune des étapes importantes de ma vie.

Hugs et vannes avec les musiciens pour conjurer le trac. Nous sommes vraiment soudés. La dernière personne que j’embrasse est Mako. C’est comme un rite que nous avons lui et moi. Pierre Alexandre m’encourage et tente de m’apaiser. 19:45, à l’anglaise, l’orchestre monte sur scène pour s’accorder. A 20 heures tapantes, le maestro Dirk Brossé et les musiciens montent sur scène, accueillis par une ovation chaleureuse. Noir salle. J’avance dans la lumière. Tout n’est que recommencement….

En deux syllabes je m’aperçois que le son de la répétition hyper confort et celui que j’entends là n’a strictement rien à voir. Mille idées sombres passent dans ma tête et je mets 2 chansons à retrouver mes marques et à oublier les caméras et à m’habituer aux lumières qui m’éclairent beaucoup plus que d’habitude.

Puis le trac se dissipe et la magie commence à opérer. Le public tente de se lever et de venir devant la scène, mais il y a un proscenium non sécurisé et à la stabilité dangereuse pour qui veut monter dessus. La sécurité, qui n’a pas l’habitude de ces élans, panique un peu pour maintenir la foule autour du proscenium et éviter un accident.

Les beaux moments s’enchainent avec les titres orchestraux comme « Soudain », « Le premier jour ». Pendant « L’enfer enfin » j’ai la sensation de décoller. Les 1h 30 de concert passent en un clin d’oeil. Les ovations sont longues et chaleureuses.

Après le show et toutes ces tensions, joie de retrouver amis, proches (et très proche) et trinquer avec le groupe et l’équipe technique, ce qui nous arrive trop rarement. Furieuse envie de me lâcher…mais vite rattrapé par la perspective du concert de demain.

Aujourd’hui, même lieu mais autre histoire, autre énergie.

L’Auditorium m’avait proposé une carte blanche pour le week end et outre mon concert, on me demandait d’inviter un artiste. J’ai choisi le groupe Baum. Olivier Mellano m’avait proposé d’interpréter « Ici bas » une des chansons de son superbe projet de reprendre les mélodies de Gabriel Fauré. Baum est composé de magnifiques musiciens, Simon Dalmais, Anne Gouverneur et Maeva Le Berre. Leur album est un bel acte de résistance et de défense de la beauté.

J’avais déjà joué avec eux au 104 à Paris et j’avais adoré participer à cette aventure. Chaque concert à des participants réguliers et des invités, comme Philippe Katerine ou Dominique A. Ce soir il y à Elise Caron, Hugh Coltman, Piers Faccini, John Greaves, Kyrie Kristmanson, Himiko Paganotti, Albin de la Simone, Rosemary Standley et moi.

Après la grande frénésie d’hier, les répétitions sont calmes et posées. Pierre Alexandre est resté avec moi à Lyon pour m’accompagner. Je répète mon titre et retourne à l’hôtel ou je dors 20 minutes. Je suis explosé. Le concert commence, absolument magnifique. Tous les intervenants sont exceptionnels, sobres et concentrés. Les interventions d’Olivier Mellano sont très cinématographiques et nous emportent très loin. Je rentre sur scène et suis un peu surpris par les applaudissements qui couvrent les premières notes de piano. Simon et moi nous regardons pour nous rattraper par une pirouette dont personne ne s’aperçoit. C’est dingue que ce qui semble être atrocissime pour soi quand on chante, passe totalement inaperçu pour le public. Nous finissons par « Seul » un final collectif beau et dramatique.
