How to prepare for a thief.
How do you prepare yourself, so when a thief comes, you are able to protect your possessions?
One of the most notorious ways to be robbed is when one goes on vacation, especially abroad. The travelers are especially susceptible to scams of all types. There are a few ways to protect yourself. One way is to use a reputable travel agency, and acquire insurance to protect your travel investment. Another, don’t leave the plan and randomly bargain some deal with a local scammer. I’m not insinuating that locals are all trying to scam you. But they are trying to make a living, and not all “hustlers” are honest. Although not all local deals are scams, in the big tourist areas the scammers are prevalent. They have many different products you can purchase that help in the protection of your money and passports, and whatever else you need to keep protected or hidden from sight. In fact, it’s quite a large market. There are thieves who continually try to find a ways to pilfer from unsuspecting victims, almost always the unprepared. That’d never happen to me!
We live in a society that is obsessed with things. We are blessed enough or cursed enough to have many possessions. We easily purchase whatever we want, when we want it, even if we never use it. It’s an impractical habit, but we are all guilty of it, I think.
The acquisition of superfluous stuff is such a fast pace habit, we don’t often realize the necessity to protect our stuff. All this “stuff” we’ve acquired over the years has created opportunity for thieves. You’ll likely never know a thief has stolen until it’s to late. They don’t want to draw attention, because they want to keep playing the game, so to speak. So they become excellent in their flawless approach to capture someone else’s belongings. With bigger homes and more possessions, and always on the go, we’ve given them easy access to our “sacred spaces.” Our home.
How do we protect our property from these sneaky swindlers?
Again, there is a huge market dedicated to home security. There are innumerable ways to secure the perimeter of your property and home. The cameras nowadays are convenient, for a couple hundred bucks you can have the entire property under surveillance 24/7 streamed directly to your phone, and the moment something sets off a sensor it’ll alert you. There are many different ways to add to the protection against thievery, neighborhood watch, extra lights, dogs, and tv or radio, to name a few.
But what about if you’re home and a robber wants to come in, not knowing or knowing that the home is occupied. How do you then protect yourself, knowing that the no good scoundrel is coming and wants something that you’ve worked for. To just take whatever he wants. You’ve got to keep him out. How do you keep him from coming in and stealing, or worse? Quite a few methods of protection can be implemented, you should have strategically placed deterrent tools. Those robust inhibitory tools should be well practiced, so when they should ever be needed you will be able to wield the tools successfully.
John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
The chief thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. The devil is actively trying to ultimately destroy us. If we allow him to steal what we posses, he will effectively kill us spiritually, and his end game is to drag us to eternal damnation with himself.
How do we protect ourselves from the chief thief?
First of all Jesus said in the second part of John 10:10 that He is the alternative to being destroyed.
James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
So we submit ourselves to God, and resist the devil.
How do we actively “resist” the devil?
Ephesians 6:11 (KJV) Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
To actively resist the devil is to stand against. Put on the whole armor of God, and we should be able to resist the devil. We can’t stand against him if we just utilize what we think we may need and leave the rest. We must obtain the whole armor and utilize it how it was intended.
Ephesians 6:14-18 (KJV) 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Love the Truth.
Do what is right in the sight of God with a right heart.
Follow peace with all men.
Without faith it’s impossible to please God.
Renew your mind, die daily, visit the cross everyday. Cast down imaginations.
Read the Word, and live it.
Perpetual prayer.
It’s not a easy road, but it’s profitable for you soul. It’s Inevitable to run into the enemy, so you must be prepared to handle the devil. Practice makes you better, so practice always. Live your life according to God’s Word.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 (KJV) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
How do we deal with Jesus’ coming as a thief in the night?
We first must believe and obey His commandments. We must repent! Turn to God, and forsake the world.
The formula is easy. It was given by the man whom Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom, without any other disciple questioning it.
Acts 2:38-39 (KJV) 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.
It’s a promise! But is it necessary?
John 3:5 (KJV) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
It doesn’t stop there. We must continue living holy, and reaching for our Savior. We must make disciples. We’ve got to compel sinners to turn to our merciful God. We can’t think we’ve arrived and forget the rest. We must tell the world about their Creator. Love people enough to intercede in prayer on their behalf. Love sinners enough to fast and pray for them. The devil has so many people blinded by the temporary glamour of the world. Let’s show them how to fight the chief thief and be ready for the One who is coming as a thief.
1 Thessalonians 5:4 (KJV) But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

"Stop second guessing yourself
Stop entertaining the lies of the enemy
You are anointed
You are called
You are worthy
You are able
You are chosen
You are the one for the job
You will absolutely be a good steward
You will succeed
You will not only survive
You will thrive
Not by might and not by power, but by the Spirit of God in you
You will rise up and possess that which the Lord has prepared for you
Every evil word spoken by some hell-anointed person, is rendered null and void NOW, by the
blood of Jesus
You have been delivered, redeemed, and renewed
You are not what *they* said——you are who and what GOD SAYS.
You can do and have every single thing He authorizes and declares
Receive it today in Jesus’ name.
You were meant to hear this.
This is your time." -- Jessica M Marquez
