But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; ".1 Peter 2:5-9 I do not believe my soul was set free until I read Gods word and became renewed, made spiritually clean as before then I was living and walking in a sinful spiritual darkness (ignorance). Afterwards, Jesus tells Judas Iscariot to be quick with what he is about to do. V. 28-29: After what happened, the perplexed and confused disciples think, that Jesus gave an order to Judas, since he is in charge of the money bag. v. 30: With the bread still in his hands, Judas Iscariot rushes out to accomplish his betrayal. Nowadays, most of us judge and condemn Judas Iscariot, as the one who betrayed the Messiah and hanged himself because of the shame and guilt he felt. Yet we fail to acknowledge, that most of us repeat his mistake on a daily basis, without regret or shame of our actions. We too like him, are constantly convicted and confronted for our sins, but still fail to listen to God's voice and continue in our wicked ways. The problem is, that most of us are not afraid of the Light of God exposing our dark and evil sins. Instead, we take pleasure in remaining in the darkness, because we can commit all kinds of sins, thinking no one sees us and no one can judge us. Let us remember that just like Judas Iscariot, each one of us will have an awful price to pay for our sins (Romans 6:23). Nothing is hidden from God, and on Judgment Day all our ways will be exposed and brought to light before the Judge Himself.
