Summary:
The Intelligence Services Family Support Foundation was the organisation that worked to meet those needs for families across the services, and its annual fundraiser was only two weeks away. The reception cum talent show was an odd but popular event that brought in a lot of money.
At 500 quid just to get in the door, patrons of the foundation enjoyed an evening of drinks and hearty nibbles before enjoying the talents of intelligence officers and support personnel throughout the services. The evening was capped off with a silent auction for donated swag, the bidding on which could sometimes go into the thousands of pounds.
Those who attended the gala – politicians, celebrities, sports figures, authors, artists, and other Londoners of note – gave generously but expected to be well entertained for their philanthropism.

So I've heard that June 8th is Demisexual Pride Day... I mean, I'm not 100% sure, but even if I'm wrong it's still Pride Month, so the art still counts lol.
It's been less than a year since I've become certain I'm demi—not having been in any relationship before didn't make it easy to distinguish demi from plain ace. This particular label means a lot to me, to be fair, and you wouldn't believe how much angst it has put to rest. Finally I know what I am, and no, I'm in no way defective.
Finding out I'm demi didn't come too long after my ASD diagnosis, so the notion of being "defective", or at least not quite right, was still very much ingrained in me at that time. Don't get me wrong though, I would have been just as relieved if I turned out to be ace. The most important part of this isn't the label itself, but the fact I can confidently apply it on myself—if that makes sense.
To me, personally, the label is immensely liberating. It means that I can love, and more important still, that I can be loved... even though, I know, this is not what orientation is supposed to mean. Everyone should be loved, no matter what they are—but well, I used to suffer from chronic loneliness and still have to battle low self-confidence, so the association makes sense to me.
It might be worth to note that I'm also demiromantic, although romantic attraction is a lot less significant to me. After all, for the longest time I couldn't for the life of me understand what romance was... and friendship is criminally underrated, imo. My current relationship might still be friendship with benefits, for all I know. Who cares, I love my partner to the moon and back anyway. I'm not even ashamed of the cliché 😛
So yeah, drawing is me. Barefoot because I always am, and because I was too lazy to draw shoes. Colors by the amazing @3nigm4art, couldn't have dreamt of a more gorgeous rendition. What song am I dancing to, hmmm... How Can Expect to Be Taken Seriously by Pet Shop Boys or Down Under by Men at Work would be strong contenders (those are my jam rn).
Oh and, the demi flag is cool, you know what I mean?

Hey guys, just checking in with a progress report for my Engie and Sniper fic. I know it's been a while and I haven't said much on the matter, but now I'd like to keep you more informed on the process.
First of all, I have a beta reader now! Thank you @3nigm4art for your input, it's been a great help so far!
I have three chapters done now, and I have almost all of the major story beats planned in order. It took me a while to get to that point, but now things should move along more quickly. This story will most likely be 8 to 10 chapters long. I also have sketches of a few of the illustrations, but most of the art production will wait until the story is complete.
I still don't have a title for it...I'm very indecisive. It's gotta be perfect, y'know?
But I do have this...I drew it for the cover. All other graphic elements aren't done yet due to the lack of a title, but I'm getting somewhere!
I think from now on I'll give you a progress report every time I complete a chapter, as well as art progress updates later on. I'm also going to hold off on reblogging random stuff so as to not bury my own posts about this. Watch this space!

Currently obsessed with: Aside from James Bond, I've been obsessed with philosophy since it coincides with my interest in literature in some ways! Some works of philosophy can be read in a literary manner and literature can be read through a philosophical lens.

Foxy, a villainess' 007 Fest 2023 masterpost
REFLECTION
One word: community
Everywhere I looked this year I saw community: the challenges + joys of participation; how much we learn from one another when we're in one; what it takes to be a beneficial participant; the value of structures + guidelines to keep them moving forward; appreciating stepping back to look at what's working well + what needs fine-tuning; learning how to clean up when there's conflict; holding one another accountable with compassion while navigating that conflict; the importance of honouring one who left the earth this year; and --ALWAYS!!!-- celebrating one another's joys + concerns along the way.
At the end of my second Fest I'm mulling on these questions:
What are the qualities + experiences which draw people into Fest? Which aspects cause people to step back from it?

How do we-as-a-fandom support a more sustainable Fest in our post-lockdown lives? Could two weeks twice a year work better for more people than four weeks once a year?
.
How might we stretch our ability + capacity to incorporate + support newcomers into the experience + the fandom? How about support for those who have been around for a longer time + could use a boost underneath their wings?
.
For some people earning points is a huge motivation. For others, not so much. How do we balance + reward time spent bEiNg ToGeThEr during Fest with creating + sharing fancreations?

How might team configurations + calculating points equitably support all types of fan creations?

First Fest: Day 31
As the clock ticks toward midnight it seems fitting to post one last time on the last day I can post in my first 007 Fest.
It's been a wonderful month, an inspiring and heart-full month.
Blown away by the creativity, determination, and talent in this fandom. What a pleasure to be part of the process as new work appeared. What a treat to see continuations in some of my favorite AUs and WIPs, and to discover new authors and artists.
Overwhelmed as the days went on by the number of chapters and works and art and posts and chats and events... took a deep breath and remembered that the point is celebration and connection. It will all be there tomorrow.
Next year - who knows where we'll all be, but I plan to be here, with you, concocting and collaborating. I plan to be (hope to be) more prepared, with somethings planned. After all I just got a whole set of all the movies, and there's a whole year of fun and fic and fandom to be had. Sirena LaChatte is just getting started.
Delighted and grateful for the welcome, the support, the interactions in all sorts of ways and places. Thank you @3nigm4art and all the #teambondvillains - loved hanging out in the lair with you. Thank you to everyone who hosted watch parties and events. Thank you so very much to the Fest mods.

No idea! I do not keep track bc if you saw me crying, no u didn’t. Couldn’t have been that long ago though I suppose?
Do you have kids?
Nope. (2022)
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
If depends on if I either like you a lot or if I really dislike you but it’s mostly online talk only. Not so much IRL (well except with family).
What's the first thing you notice about people?
Once again, it depends honestly. Some people’s clothes stand out first, some people’s faces, some people’s personality, I guess it’s just whatever about that person is loudest when I first meet them!
What's your eye color?
Water-logged dirt brown!
Scary movies or happy endings?
Why not both? Happy could just mean cathartic honestly. In the same way that Midsommar (2019) was horror with a truly bad ending but also?? it was a payoff too. It felt right in the worst possible way. It doesn’t need to be happy, it just needs to make sense. I suppose I lean more horror though?
Any special talents?
Art I guess? There is no talent I have that I haven’t spent about 500 yrs cultivating lol. I play piano too but very poorly and I no longer remember how to read sheet music on the fly but the few songs I know by heart? Yeah I like to think I’m decent at them.
Where were you born?

What are your hobbies?
Art, uhmm piano sometimes, bookbinding (and by default editing to fit the format I use), cooking when I’m feeling alright, reading, and watching my silly little shows with my crew!
Have any pets?
Yes, my little bastard cat!
What sports do you play/have you played?
Used to do children’s ballet, rode horses for a bit, and also played soccer for a season (I was absolutely horrible at it to the point my couch had nothing to say about me at the end of the season party lol).

Favorite subject in high school?
Alternated between English and History buuuut I was always the history teacher’s favorite little meow meow and it definitely captivated me more !
Dream job?
Eat hot chip and lie.
(I don’t know, at this point I just want to go to a job that I know what I’m doing and can hopefully do meaningful work? I would like to pay the bills and not have to lean on anyone financially though, that’s my basic goal)

Art Round Robin
The animals of the Bond’Verse have gone on strike and are demanding better working conditions.
Max the Parrot is bloody well sick of saying, “Give us a kiss!” and wants better dialogue along with four new foraging toys he saw featured on Animal Planet.
The komodo is still trying to digest that sodding Walther. Can we say animal endangerment, people?!
Blofeld’s cat is tired of substandard treats. “And a bit of variety, too, if you please! And a new cat bed. The princess knew she was sleeping on a pea, but I have to accept sleeping on a boulder?!” What can you say? She’s a diva.
The mouse at Hotel L'American Tanger is still waiting for even a bloody ‘Thank you!’ for pointing Bond in the direction of the hidden room. “Humans! The room was hidden, yes, but not that well. Thought he was a bit shite of a spy if he couldn’t figure that much out, but it was clear that they’d never leave if they didn’t get what they were after, so I showed them the way. Fat lot of good it did. They didn’t even leave me a biscuit crumb to chew on.”
Kincade’s Labradors were also asked to comment on their grievances but had to dash ... red squirrels wait for no dog. But then, they’re Labradors, what sort of issues could they possibly have? Not enough opportunities to give kisses?

A Time for Sweetness (realistic attempt 3)
Alec gave in—so did I 🤭
It was hard to wait until Tenshi day to release my most ambitious piece to date, but I'm glad I did. One, because it gave me time to fix Alec's jaw... and two, because I'm positive Tenshi (@slimysuckers) would have loved this. I've said it before and I'll say it again, she was a pillar of the GoldenEye side of the fandom, and her loss can be especially felt there. No more fics, no more photomanips, no more lovely comments... *sigh*. To be fair, I still feel a twinge whenever I stumble across a kudos, a like, a comment of hers, wherever I find it.
I wish you were here to see how much we love you, Tenshi. But after all, you did say you would be watching from wherever you are, so... cheers~ This one's for you, because you deserve all the bondalec fanart ♥️🐙
