People on aj complaining about the modern day irl money bundles for the 802739263th time like. Did y'all just forget that in order to get a snow leopard, lion, or arctic wolf, you had to buy a 3 month membership gift card before the diamond shop appeared? Like be fr AJ has ALWAYS been like this, don't act like it's just NOW a problem
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You could ONLY get these animals with gift cards at that time. Only at Target, too, according to this old jamaa journal! I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's kind of useless to act like animal jam has been "getting greedy recently," because they ALWAYS have been.

ellen weinberg
a lot of people online like to praise her because they love her kids, but before she was mama hughes, ellen weinberg was an even more accomplished athlete than her wikipedia page can tell you. well i have way too much time on my hands and an affinity for googling things, so here is a not-so-little primer on the matriarch of hockey who has contributed far more than just her superstar children.
(basically anything not sourced is from the cammi & aj podcast i have a transcript of)
born in st. louis, she was told she couldn't play hockey because girls couldn't play on boys teams in the state of missouri, and there were no girls teams. went to bob johnson's hockey camp in aspen at age 7. moved to dallas at age 8, where she was allowed to play on the boys team. at age 12, is featured in a news clip "girl hockey player" where she says she wants to one day play professional hockey.
Tumblr media
at 15, wins nationals with her U-19 soccer team, the dallas sting, and they are sent to represent the US in the first ever FIFA-sanctioned world women’s tournament in china and proceeded to win gold against all expectations becoming the first US team to win any international soccer competition, male or female. also on this team was her best friend, future woso legend carla werden (overbeck). 1, 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
other noteworthy teammates: she played with mia hamm on her state team and was roommates with brandi chastain at her first youth national team camp for soccer.
she was recruited to lots of top schools for soccer, but chose the university of new hampshire because it was also offering hockey. she describes this as "the lack of landscape really drove my next move" because there was only 31 D1 women's soccer programs in the country at the time, and none in the state of texas.
she reached out to the women's hockey coach at unh, russ mccurdy, and told him she was being recruited for soccer but was really coming to unh because she wanted to play hockey, and he told her that it was unlikely she would make the team. so bob johnson called and asked him to give her a shot, and he said ok. he allowed her to have a one week tryout once soccer season was over, and after the first day, he asked, "what size skates do you wear?" and that was it, she was on the team.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the women's soccer coach, marge anderson, was also a lacrosse player, and encouraged ellen to join the lacrosse team that needed more players. so she did. in her own words:
"I wasn't very good. I could run, but my stick skills- and I learned and I did everything, and it was great, and we went to the Final Four, but I was out at that point. So everybody always says I played three sports like, I was on the team. I was, you know, three sports at that level. I was done at that point and I stuck with soccer and hockey after my first year. But it was a really cool experience."
she may have not been very good but she did go on to coach her own kids teams in lacrosse (and potentially owen power, who is confirmed to have played lacrosse with them but it is not confirmed that it was when she coached them)
Tumblr media
(she was #21)
she was an elite skater and creative player, and "would often find herself in trouble in Durham for rushing the puck from her defensive post or trying things like a spin-o-rama".
Tumblr media
she helped UNH win 3 hockey championships in 4 years, made the all-new england team (soccer) as a freshman, was named an unh athlete of the year finalist after an injury that kept her out for an entire school year, was named to the ECAC all star team, was an ISAA senior recognition award winner, was soccer co-captain in 1990, and then captain of both the soccer and hockey teams as a senior X
Tumblr media
in april 1991, she participated in the Eastern Regional Tryouts of the US National Women's Hockey Team
"We've got it pretty good, playing defense," says senior Ellen Weinberg to fellow defenseman Weston. "There aren't as many of us to choose from. But then, when you look at who's there, they're all good!"
she then went on to pursue a graduate degree at UNH where she was an assistant coach for both soccer and hockey for two years, all the while contributing to historical hockey research to the point that she is named in the acknowledgements of Hockey: A Global History by Hardy & Holman
“It was my way of staying involved because I had nowhere to play. Then I participated in the 1992 World Championship, finished my master's degree. Then I really had nowhere to play." (google translated)
Tumblr media
The New Hampshire Vol. 83 No. 18 (Nov. 6 1992)
then in 1992, she played for the women's national team in both soccer and hockey.
Tumblr media
the soccer team didn't play in any big tournaments that year, but for hockey she went to women's worlds in tampere, finland, where she was an alternate captain. the US won silver, with ellen scoring 3 or 4 assists in 5 games (depending on which source you believe) and ellen was named to the all-star team by the media as the top player in her position.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also in 1992, she was a power skating coach at the summerland female hockey academy, teaching future star hayley wickenheiser.
there was hope that women's hockey would be a part of the 1994 olympics, but when that didn't happen, ellen went to norway anyways to grow the game.
“They were hoping women’s hockey was going to be sanctioned in the ‘94 Olympics and it wasn’t, so the Norwegian ice hockey federation had all this extra funding so they asked USA Hockey for an ambassador to go over and help grow the women’s game,” she said. “We had played in the ’92 World Championships and I was one of the older people and they offered me that opportunity to go over and work with the Norwegian ice hockey federation and what I did was I lived in Oslo. “And I went around to all the little towns and taught the girls how to play. It was awesome. Since Norway was such a small country with four million people at the time, they needed all the buses during the Olympics so everyone went on holiday, so my job stopped for three weeks.” X
ELLEN WEINBERG of Boston and the University of New Hampshire was interested in Coach TIM TAYLOR's tactics at practice. The 25-year-old Weinberg, one of America's best female players, is advising Norway's women's teams. Women's hockey becomes an Olympic sport in 1998. "They complain in Norway that I coach too long on the ice," she said. "They should see this guy, always instructing." X
she was invited to camp in lake placid for the 1994 women’s worlds (which took place every two years then), but suffered a serious knee injury that she believes is because they didn’t have proper support/training facilities
“We didn’t have a gym at the time. It was so different. We just played relying on our athletic instincts. If I got injured, it’s probably because I didn’t have the ideal support,” (google translated) X
by 1996 she was playing for the itech blaiders roller hockey team in NJ (and her then-boyfriend, jim, was coaching the new jersey rockin’ rollers) while also working in broadcasting
she had been considered a lock for the nagano olympics, despite being “old” but that “blown-out knee effectively ended her competitive career” :(
she ended up in nagano anyways as a reporter for cbs, one of her first big gigs in her media career, which i can do a part 2 on if there's interest.
and currently she’s on the USA hockey foundation board and is a player development consultant for the women’s national team

hey!! ty for posting about the article talking about continuation of aa. I don’t know as much about the production of aa5 and 6 but you mentioned a person names Eshiro being responsible for the “no spoilers” rule being replaced. what/who is that? just in general giving u the floor to rant about aa5 and 6 beyond what u were able to say in that post and ur hopes for the future 💙✨ ok bye! :)
hiya!! (post here)
So, the story of why aa5 and aa6 are so different to aa4 basically boils down to a change in the team making it (and Eshiro was part of this).
Most people know Shu Takumi wrote and directed the original trilogy of Phoenix Wright games and then worked on Apollo Justice (although the director was technically Mitsuru Endo, people tend to think of AJ as the last "Takumi" mainline game). After that, he left the Ace Attorney team to complete and release Ghost Trick in 2010, and then he became involved in the development of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, which released in 2012.
While he was doing all of this, a "secondary" Ace Attorney team had arisen to keep working on the franchise - they had almost all worked on previous AA games and in 2009 and 2011 they were able to release the two Ace Attorney Investigations games.
The two most well-known members of this "team" are the producer Motohide Eshiro and the director Takeshi Yamazaki, and the fact that AAI2 is so beloved shows that they are by no means unable to make really, really good Ace Attorney games. But, with Takumi still busy with his other projects, and a good few years having passed since AA4, this team was asked to create a fifth Ace Attorney game in his absence.
This was, obviously, a challenge, and Capcom were likely in quite a rush to get a new mainline game out soon. Additionally, initial fan reception of AA4 was really not that good - many people hated the decision to disbar Phoenix in particular - and the game itself had many loose ends.
Eshiro, as the producer, decided that for AA5 it was better for the writers to not be held back by previous games, which manifested in what people think of now as the "no spoilers rule". This is why AA5 does not follow up on AA4, and likewise for AA6. Nowadays this decision is widely regarded as a very bad move, but on some level I empathise with it - AA has always been kind of reluctant to spoil past games, and you were always operating with the presumption that the player might be new to the series and wanted to go back to the previous games. Writing a follow-up that addressed AA4, while being acceptable to newcomers and not spoiling almost all of AA4's biggest twists, without the guy who originally came up with the story, would prove really difficult.
So they wrote Dual Destinies as a new story which followed AA4 but didn't really address it, and indulged in fanservice to try and restore the series status quo. It seems like the scenario changed a lot during development and they were pretty crunched for time, too - the final villain's models are apparently called FINALBOSS in the game files and completely broken if you look at them from any other angle.
After working on AA5, Yamazaki was apparently exhausted and didn't really want to make another Ace Attorney. Unfortunately for him, Shu Takumi was still off on his Sherlock & Souseki Victorian-Meiji Adventure, writing the Great Ace Attorney duology, and he wouldn't get done until 2017 when DGS2 came out.
Eshiro managed to persuade Yamazaki to work on AA6 by bringing him to conventions, and having seen the passion and overjoyed reactions from fans after AA5 came out, Yamazaki agreed to direct the sixth game, with Takuro Fuse (AA5 and 6's main artist) acting as co-director to ease the load. Some of AA6's cases were also created by guest writers; the SOJ artbook mentions a struggle for ideas, which explains the outlandish setting of Khura'in.
To the best of my knowledge (and I'm not sure this account is 100% accurate so anyone please feel free to correct me) this is why AA5 and AA6 are the way they are. Nobody is particularly to blame for how things turned out; there were just a couple of bad decisions along the way which has resulted in the games being looked back on by a lot of people with some contempt. Given the circumstances, I'm actually pretty impressed with how enjoyable Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are, even if they don't reach the heights of the trilogy.
Yamazaki left Capcom in 2019. Eshiro went on to produce Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2, and I'm pretty sure he's still at Capcom.
What all of this means for the next Ace Attorney title is completely speculation, but the short version of the story is that Shu Takumi has finally come back from getting milk Herlock Sholmes Jail writing other games, and seems to be getting hyped up by capcom as the "Director of the Ace Attorney Series". This makes it very likely he will direct and write the next Ace Attorney game. At present we have no idea what this means - he could follow up on AA4's story as well as he's able, he could write another Phoenix game, he might go rogue and write an Athena game, he might do something completely different. But the next AA game will likely be around the quality of AA1-2-3-4 and DGS, not another AA5/6 situation.
As for the producer, this comes from the November 2020 leaks (which was very real - it's where we first got the TGAA localisation confirmed), but the only thing we heard about their projected AA7 was that it would be produced by a guy called Yasayuki Makino. He also produced The Great Ace Attorney collection, and if you read his dev blogs from that release, he credits AA4 for getting him into the series initially, and generally seems to be a huge Ace Attorney fan himself, pushing hard for TGAA to get a worldwide re-release after its unimpressive initial sales (and look how well that's worked out...!)
That's basically the story. I think AA7 will be great, actually, but at this point I will literally take anything, Capcom please my family is starving

VHSCC OH MY GOD
(no spoilers)
Starkid nation, you aren't ready.
So let's start with the obvious. Look, I spent thirteen years growing up with Starkid. That initial Michigan gang are deeply special to me and I will always miss Dylan, Brian R., and Corey in any show they aren't in. And this one's no different. But just as Janaya came in and took over Belle from Britney so flawlessly, Curt, Brian, and AJ were all WONDERFUL in their new roles. The gentle-but-high-energy, truly decent, romantic himbo charm Curt brought to our Springsteen boy Jim (you all are going to LOVE Jim, I promise) perfectly offset the defiant, sneering anger of Young Scrooge in "That Scrooge." Brian's reactions (particularly to the "rather take my own life" line) were so funny and some of my favorite parts of the show. And AJ... this is now my favorite thing AJ has ever done. And that's saying something. The smaller casting shake-up moments (Joey as Fezziwig, other little line re-distributions) were so fun as well!
The new act 1 is PERFECTION. I was actually surprised by how absolutely hysterical it was? Like, I won't tell you what was up with that clip on Instagram of Brian, Lauren, and Joey doing a freak-out dance, but I can tell you that their whole Act 1 deal threatened to steal the show every. Single. Time. I already mentioned Curt as Jim, but you will also love Della, who is so funny and real and truly carries us through the start of the show (Janaya is a STAR and she Curt have brilliant chemistry). Ali did a terrific job of balancing the sadness and hope that are both at the center of the devastating little Match Girl. And Jamie's Grandma... well, honestly I have no idea how to talk about Jamie's song without giving stuff away.
But the real star of the show in Act 1, as he should be, was our man Clark. I can't emphasize enough how much he nailed the writing of this whole new act. I mentioned that the new stuff is hilarious, but it's also deeply heartfelt, and also sad exactly when it needs to be. Like, the transition after Jamie's song? I can't really talk about it yet, but what that moment does with emotion is unreal. And, as expected, every song is a banger! My one complaint about this show, and it IS a big one, is that there is no cast recording of the Act 1 songs. I want to listen to them all the time.
But the good news is, I CAN listen to Christmas Carol as much as I want! The classic that started it all is back, with so many people reprising the hell out of their truly iconic roles (God I love the VHS Cratchits), and better than ever. I traditionally hate change, and I love the version of VHSCC Live! we already have so much, but I think I somehow loved this version even more? The staging is alive and clever and there are some additions and changes, particularly in "Final Ghost"/"Christmas Day," that frankly blew my mind and somehow managed to elevate the material even further. I can't wait for the digital ticket to come out so that I can talk about them. To put it simply, James Tolbert mastered his Starkid directorial debut like you won't believe. I'm so proud of him and grateful for the larger role he's taken in Starkid since they moved base to LA.
Also, the Ghost of Christmas Past is extra unhinged this year? Jaime pulled out all of the impish stops and it was the BEST.
Basically, everyone more than delivered. I haven't talked about Meredith yet but she rocked it in the band and continued to validate the hell out of my opinion that "3 Spirits" is the dark horse best song in the show.
And a special shout-out to June Saito for continuing to be a costuming GENIUS. I always love her work and this production is no exception. I honestly wanted to give the return of the Bob Cratchit costume its own round of applause.
You know, the world is a mess and everything is pretty much terrible. It's been a hard year in an impossible decade. But every once in a while you come across some art that takes all of that, acknowledges the truth of it, and somehow pulls back the curtains to harness the joy and hope that's still there under the rubble. To me, Starkid in particular has always been about finding and holding onto the hope and the beauty and humanity that allows us to endure an existence that can so often feel bleak. And VHSCC is maybe the most perfect encapsulation of that idea.
So thank you Clark, James, Meredith, Brian, and everyone who worked so hard on this little bit of magic. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Let's make a little light.

Okay so you’re one of the only ones I’ve seen mention AJ recently so I wanted to come to you with this thought. You know the ‘write a prisoner’ website it went around tiktok for a little? Well I was thinking, in a universe where his ending is different (no spoilers just in case your other followers haven’t watched it) reader finds him on the write a prisoner site and they become penpals. You’re able to develop a genuine connection with one another and he’s able to talk and vent to you about everything that’s gone wrong/right in his life and you’re able to do the same thing. He ends up writing you sappy little poems and love notes eventually cause he realizes you are more than just a penpal to him. At some point you end up surprising him with an actual visit and it just solidifies his feelings being able to finally see you in person. If we’re going off of the mafia!au for him, then maybe he ends up having some of his men on the outside start to keep tabs on you..solely for protection purposes of course not because he wants to make sure he’s the only guy you’re talking to. There’s a couple videos I saw where the girls were still able to be surprised with flowers on the doorstep somehow by their penpal and I definitely feel like he’d do the same thing. There’d be a line in one of his notes afterwards of like ‘Did you get my little surprise, sweetheart? Just wait till you see how much I can really spoil you once I’m out of here.’ Ahhh maybe it’s just me that gets all giggly at this idea. Idk just a little thought 😅
main masterlist
OMG STOP I LOVE THIS SM!!
okay so ima break this up a bit because it’s easier for my brain to focus 😭 will start with looking at it from Aj’s character and then from if it was Mafia!Ani
(i’d also like to state idk how the ‘write a prisoner’ website works exactly but i feel like it’s pretty self explanatory so ima just roll with how it works in my mind)
Tumblr media
Aj: becoming pen pals with a prisoner and bonding is a lot easier then you went into the website thinking, you only really go in with the fact you’ll be speaking with a criminal. once you see his photo your interest is peaked (i mean how could it not look at him)
Tumblr media
anyway you guys start off with simple topics when messaging like favorite hobbies and Aj mentions to you that he has a love for playing the piano- (idk about you guys but there’s nothing hotter then a man who can play an instrument and play it well) maybe he even makes a promise to you that when he gets out he’ll play for you.
and Aj is such a sweetheart he so would write you poems maybe he starts off with something simple and sweet that can be interpreted in a friend way because for as confident as a guy he is you make him nervous. he only started writing you poems once you two where close enough for him to feel safe and be open with his thoughts and how he got into this situation. and honestly you don’t think he’s to bad of guy after all he never went out of his way to kill anyone during a heist and he always made sure to donate a percentage to charity organizations, so you’re able to push the fact he’s a criminal aside.
as your relationship with him progresses and his friendly poems slowly turn into something more you realize how badly you want to visit him. to see his pretty face in person (even if it is behind a glass frame) and to hear the voice you’d been imagining in your head. so with all the courage you can muster you do some digging and make plans to surprise him. Oh boy are you grateful you went through with it- seeing him in person was almost surreal. somehow he was more handsome in person and furthermore his gravely voice was definitely hotter then you ever could of imagined. he’s a smooth talker, seemingly more bold in person then he was through a screen (which shocked you since with most people it’d be the opposite). oh and when he sees you… sees your smile- the way you flutter your lashes when listening to him speak- he knows he’s done for, knows that there’s no one else he wants more in his life and even more importantly he cannot wait for his release date.
you make the effort to visit him as often as you can…
Mafia!Anakin: we all collectively agree Ani is a possessive man- even if he doesn’t always show it but Mafia Ani, oh that man isn’t afraid to show he’s possessive in fact as far as he’s concerned he owns you. so to no one’s surprise he 100% has men on the outside looking after you. making sure you’re safe, single unbothered by those around you.
Anakin has connections everywhere, i mean he’s the top boss. so if he wants to surprise you with something he will, and he’s got the money for it so honestly what’s stopping him?
waking up and getting ready to start your day only to here your doorbell go off, opening your front door to see a huge bouquet of flowers. it really confuses you at first- i mean you don’t really talk to other guys (probably because every time you did they suspiciously disappeared- if you had their number and messaged them all they’d say is they moved away) so who are they from. taking them inside and seeing a note on the ground that must of fallen out of the bouquet your question is answered.
‘Hope you like them Pretty girl’
it’s not even signed but you know exactly who it’s from. of course you confront him at your next visit, and once you do all he does is give you a sly little smile through the glass as you both hold the phone next to your ears.
‘just wait till you see how much i can really spoil you once i’m out of here’
ugh that resonantes with me sm 😩 he 100% would say that and then swiftly move the conversation along as you blush silently, something about how he said it or maybe it’s the look in his eyes that leaves you flustered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think i ranted a bit to much about this 😀 my apologies huns 😭 but anyways you’re so real for this and thank you for dropping it in my asks 🫶🏼
you’re actually my first ask too so 🤭🤭 thank you for the absolute serotonin boost this gave me Xx <3

Thoughts on the latest episode of BUCCHIGIRI?! Episode 5
WARNING: *May contain spoilers so be cautioned*
- We get to see that NG Boys actually has a factory where all the members are doing unpaid labour. Making that faction all the more horrible.
- Matakara’s entrance and declaring to see where Akutaro is just so badass!
- But when Akutaro called in Arajin, who he now calls AJ, the latter ran in only just with his underwear. Poor Mata was so shocked at that and it’s pretty priceless to say the least.
Tumblr media
- BUT that’s beside the point, because just as Matakara was questioning Arajin, Akutaro ruined the moment and Mata was prepared to fight him.
- Unfortuantely, because he has Ichiya with him, Mata was easily beaten by Akutaro and was promptly sent down to some dingy dungeon, tied up. 😢
- Arajin doing one act of small kindness by taking out the tape out of Matakara but still refusing to acknowledge him just made me a teensy bit upset.
- Akutaro kills the reunion scene again and Arajin not wanting to look at Matakara is just….heartbreaking in and out of itself. Not helped by the fact that Matakara kept crying out for Arajin’s name over and over again before the door slammed. It killed me.
- The whole flashback of that childhood incident is revealed. Apparently, some older kids trespass kid Arajin and Matakara’s secret training ground. Mata tried to confront them but sadly, he got beaten up pretty badly to the point of unconsciousness. Arajin on the other hand hid from them until said older kids decided to target him and all Arajin can do is run away all the while abandoning Matakara. And this all happened when they’re just 6-7 year old!
- I want to hit Arajin with a goddamn rubber chicken because of the earlier flashback scene of how Akutaro just drafts him into NG Boys easily by using his weakness for pretty women at the nightclub and he just falls for it easily.
- Oh well, at least, Senya is the only one who is aware of that. He was the one who sensed Ichiya in Akutaro after all.
- Just about any scene with Akutaro and how he invokes fear onto his members is just bone-chilling in and out of itself.
- Ok so we do have a backstory on Akutaro’s history with the gang, esp with Kenichiro and Minato Kai. Apparently, during their younger years, Kenichiro saved Akutaro from a bunch of thugs. This of course made Akutaro admire Kenichiro and so decided to train himself to be on his level and even transferred school to be admitted into Minato Kai (well he did wore a different school uniform in the flashback).
- Unfortunately, during his time at doing the daily matches Minato Kai, Akutaro decided to cheat and go against the honor code Minato Kai upholds by using a police baton and hit one of the members on the head. Kenichiro saw that and gave a pretty disproving look alongside the other members who watched that.
- It was at that point that Akutaro swore vengeance against Kenichiro and the whole of Minato Kai for kicking him out despite all the hard work he put in. (As much as I want to feel bad and whatnot, dude shouldn’t have brought in a weapon to a fighting match)
- Akutaro proposing to Arajin about how he would give him all of the women at the NG Boys club and Arajin just fantasizing about it plus his delusions about Mahoro would always be funny to me but at the same time, it’s getting old. Utsumi, pls let our main lead grow out of it and have him realize that Matakara is waiting for him.
- Senya just looking done with Arajin is priceless and more or less represents how the fandom just wants him to grow.
- Mahoro being the fandom surrogate when Marito took off his shirt and accessories. Also her just beating the ground and barrel all the while name calling the main leads a ‘Stone Pervert’ and ‘Blockhead’ but worrying about them under her brocon attitude respectively is just the biggest highlight lmao.
- Zabu was the biggest MVP in that not only did he rescued Matakara but even admitted to the whole gang that it was his fault for being used by Akutaro. I mean damn why isn’t he promoted cuz that’s some big balls of courage he has to admit his mistake of being used.
- Mata and Zabu thankfully managed to stop all of the Minato Kai and Siguma Squad underlings from fighting but not the bosses themselves.
- Jabashiri and Hagure crumbs but no word on Outa. Like what happened to the dude? Is he still out of commission?
- The marking on Arajin’s butt just started to glow and this made Senya fused with him unknowingly and Arajin just punched Akutaro.
- Reason above is because Akutaro started to talk about Mahoro and how he wanted to use her as a trophy girl of some sorts 😬
- Although that being said, Arajin pissed off a whole of the NG Boys squad and brought all of the members to the main gang.
- But bad news is that Akutaro sensed Senya in Arajin already. Though then again, there was plenty of foreshadowing that he already sensed it to begin with so.
- Matakara beaming like a small puppy but still thinking that Arajin never abandoned the Honki people motto just make me want to go ‘No mah boi, he just pissed off the whole members of NG Boys! He’s still distant from you!’
- Episode ends in cliffhanger with Kenichiro and Marito duking out.

When people line up Sonic and mlp characters I always see Knuckles being teamed up with Applejack (my two favourites, yay!)
These two stubborn, strong, hard working cool hat wearers would be great friends.
Both of them are so done with everyone's bs and should've had a nap hours but their friends keep getting into nonsense and they're the ones left to deal with it. (Of course they're not immune to being the ridiculous one and have caused their fair share of nonsense themselves)
These two are both the ones who take on way too much work and stubbornly insist they can handle it. Aj has the responsibility of running the farm and works hard to maintain sweet apple acers and Knuckles has the responsibility of guarding the Master Emerald and works hard to maintain Angel Island.
It would also be pretty funny for these two to be in a situation where they need to lie for whatever reason. They're both so bad at lying and it could be so entertaining to watch them stumble over their words and do their best but fail spectacularly.
And on that note I can picture a moment where Sonic and Rainbow did a thing and Applejack tells it to them that "That was just about the worst idea you've ever had. What the hay were you two thinking." And then Knuckles, no hesitation calls them "Dumbasses"
But Knuckles would would definitely feel out of place with how big a focus Applejack has on family and how he grew up completely alone. But could lead to a super wholesome moment of AJ telling him he's always welcome in the Apple family and then he proceeds to get adored by them.
I have lots more more thoughts on these two but I also really want to see is between Knuckles and Fluttershy.
I SO want these two to be besties. Sitting quietly together surrounded by little creatures because they found everyone else too much and needed some space. (social anxiety buds)
I'm picturing a scenario where at first Fluttershy is intimidated and nervous around Knuckles cuz she witnesses him snapping at Sonic or something but then he disappears from the group at some point and she goes looking for him to make sure he's okay, and then she finds him nearby calmly chatting with some of the local animals and letting them climb and sit on him. So then she goes over and the two enjoy each others quiet company far away from the others who can be a bit much and overbearing at times.
And even though he's got quite a temper Knuckles is super kind-hearted and put that next to Fluttershy who's often shy and meek but also has the incredibly kind heart and you've got two super kind characters who still contrast each other.
It was fluttershy's kindness that put discord on the path to reformation and Knuckles has the whole thing of believing there is good in people and how often he jumps to save his enemies.
You know what. these three would be such a nice trio that balance each other out and could be so fun together.
Although Knuckles and Applejack both being stubborn at the same time would be a such a bother for Fluttershy to deal with. But her being one of the few people who can get them to let up could be so cute
AH! I am really starting to adore this trio I have lots more thoughts as well as some thoughts for other characters but i'll save that for another post.

Atp, what does niko not have? I’m not hearing anyone say ‘but he’s not muscular’ he’s leng. Like lengerrssss. Idk what it is about lanky fucking men yk? Like simon from sidemen as well bro.. idk what it is. The way he is so tall and just.. omg.. stop even the way he runs is attractive idc that its like a 75 yo. His hands.. omg don’t get me started on them. I’ve seen too many edits with them pls the way they’re so long and slender and just.. JENDJWKSJSJWJ. I wonder what they can do.. (jk🥰) stop and his eyes.. they’re so fucking pretty omg that one photo of him looking up at aj does something to me. His smile is the cutest thing ever idc what anyone says. And the way he laughs especially while running.. the way it sounds so giggly and cutesy. Stop. His little downward smile omfd its so fucking adorable. His confidence. Like I know its an online persona and he said he’s not as extroverted irl but idc. The way his confidence is so attractive.. like wdym you can walk up to someone and strike a random conversation? Hot. So random but he seems like such a genuine and nice guy? Like whatever forget about the trolling I see right through it, I’ve watched too many interviews and podcasts of people including himself talking about him, he seems like such a nice guy like he’s so generous as well its so kind. Literally said irl he’s humble and doesn’t spend that much money on himself. (Which is the vibe I got anyway but yk I had to give proof xx) from what ppl say about him to the way he acts underneath the online persona & trolling. He’s a nice guy. And the way he’s so soft underneath all that you can literally tell. From the way he is with his friends sometimes (esp w kenny & aj) and the way he is with animals & kids. Its so cute. Like he’s so gentle and caring underneath all that omg stop. Cutie patootie who? Stop and he’s so fucking sexy, hot, mwah, did I mention hot? Like and his humour. The sarcastic side comments and observations/commentary always gets me bro. He’s actually hilarious like you don’t need to be an expert to understand his humour, he’s jjst so AJDJSKDJJDSKKSKS. Love love love love love love love him. Omg and he is actually so intelligent like omfd. The way he pauses and goes into thought sometimes is so hot for no reason. He is so smart like idk what it os but when he answers math questions? Or any question for that matter. Like he’s so smart omg. Intelligence is hot guys. He’s such a genius. I swear he could waffle his way outta jail.
Edit : so random but why is the way he doesn’t swear so hot for no reason? Like idk anymore honestly I think I just find him attractive (wow I wonder)
Edit #2 : Stop his hair when its wet. That one photo. I’m done. 🛐
This has gone to far guys..

If you’re still doing the character ask game maybe Apollo or Athena???
Send me a character and I’ll list:
I will always accept more of these, I love talking KRKJF So thank you! I'll do both of them.
Apollo:
Favorite thing about them: I know it kind of applies to all the MCs, but he is sooo... cringefail. And I love that about him. Like idk he's just so sweaty and vaguely unwell all the time and I think it's charming that he's constantly convincing himself he's Totally Cool Totally Fine Just Absolutely Fine. I also like that he can't help but be kinda mean. Not that he is a mean character, just that he has the most shit-tier filter when it comes to talking to people. I love how often he says shit he shouldn't to people, it's funny as hell to me. I love him Least favorite thing about them: He's really boring until Spirit of Justice. At least to me personally. He's like cardboard in AJ, and I don't... care about his arc at all in DD lol. Spirit of Justice may have slapped another backstory onto this bitch, and while it's silly, I think it works the best because now at least we have SOME understanding of his background. And I like his dynamics with the Khura'in crew a lot. Favorite line: idk... I don't really pay mind to people's lines. But the bit in Turnabout for Tomorrow where he says he finally trusts Athena is fun. I also like that bit in 6-5: "If you committed a crime, you'd better be ready to do the time. Be you a priest, a saint, a queen or a god." That goes pretty hard. Like bro he fucking rules during Turnabout Revolution it's crazy, he's the star of that trial for sure. The star he should've been in this trilogy all along. brOTP: Him and Athena are iconic together. I like him and Trucy for sure, but Athena really brings out some great stuff in his personality. They are so damn funny together, and you really get the impression they care about each other a lot despite the constant teasing and the rivalry. OTP: I generally don't ship Apollo with anyone because I headcanon him as aroace, but if I was going to pick a ship, I like Justicykes, I admit. I think it could be a cute ship and they already have a terrific dynamic together. But yeah. nOTP: Since I already said Nahyuta/Apollo when I did Yuty's, I guess barring ships like him and Trucy which are a given for me, I don't really care for Klavier/Apollo because I feel they have no chemistry. Like. At all. Like for anything KRKJFN The writing between them in AA4 is so Nothing to me, so idk, I just don't see it. It's not a bad ship and I understand why people like it, but it didn't click with me-- but it probably also didn't click because I don't particularly like Klavier to begin with. I don't think he's very interesting. Random headcanon: Uhhh idk! Let's see... I do headcanon Apollo as a trans man, and since I also headcanon Yuty as trans, I guess like... I like the idea of them playing games as boys when they were kids because they don't have the language or knowledge to understand why neither of them are particularly happy with being viewed as girls, so it was a little secret thing that they encouraged for each other because it made them happy. They understood when no one else did. And then they reunite 15 years later, see the other has transitioned, and thinks, "That explains a lot" lol. Unpopular opinion: His SOJ backstory is stupid as fuck but I actually also think it's great and the best thing they've done with his backstory so far, especially since they have continued to not tell Apollo and Trucy that they're siblings (though yes, I know, the ending of SOJ implies Thalassa and Phoenix are finally going to tell them). It's the first time I had a good grasp on his background, and I think his dynamic with Dhurke, Nahyuta, and Datz is legit great. Song I associate with them: I don't think I've ever thought about it. Everything is Fine by Qbomb could be good for him, but it's also very intense, probably too much even for him. But I'll go with that. Favorite picture of them: I love his grin, it's adorable
Tumblr media
Athena:
Favorite thing about them: Her personality!!! I love how bombastic she is, I love how much emotion they put into her animations and everything. I love how much she cares about people, she's so ride or die and hardworking even when people underestimate her or look down on her. It makes her a really endearing character. I worried if I'd like her when I first started DD, but she's honestly awesome. She's my favorite protag from the new trilogy, though Apollo is not very far behind. Least favorite thing about them: I wish she wasn't so young sometimes. Like I find it weird that the newer games veer so much towards people becoming lawyers fresh out of high school, and even for someone as smart as her, I'm just like... you can't make her 20 at least or something? And I feel like the only reason she's even 18 in DD is because the assistant characters have to be a teen girl. Like. Yknow lol.
I also thought it was kind of annoying how 6-4 kept pushing her being a kid when basically nobody ever talked to her like that before. It felt like they just needed more conflict so threw in suddenly everyone being like "she's just a little BABY GIRL who doesn't KNOW NOTHIN" and I thought it was a touch lame. But not too intrusive, really. At least someone started recognizing she's young as hell, lol. Favorite line: Everything she says is iconic. How am I supposed to pick. Yeah I honestly don't know lol brOTP: Her and Simon are legendary together. Their dynamic is so fuckin funny and endearing to me. It's one of the highlights of DD and the highlight of Turnabout Storyteller. I never knew her and Blackquill were connected before I played DD, albeit I basically never saw anything new trilogy content so it surprised me, but I love them. The siblings of all time OTP: Justicykes, I guess? idk. I don't really ship for her. I'm not even certain what my headcanons for her sexuality are to begin with. I could see her as a lesbian, but I could see her as pan, but I could see her as aro, so on. Her and Juniper is cute too, I just feel like their dynamic isn't fleshed out enough, but that's kinda par for the course in DD. But I can vibe with it. nOTP: Her and Blackquill romantically. Like sorry, but you have fundamentally misunderstood their dynamic. I feel strongly about that. I can't explain it, but it really feels like it misses the point of their dynamic and what makes the dynamic great, but idk. Also it's just Weird for a lot of reasons. Random headcanon: (guy who makes every character he likes trans voice) I Think She's Trans. Also love her being taller than Apollo, I'll go with that hc like the rest of us. Unpopular opinion: I dunno. I think she's a mixed bag to a lot of people because of how DD pivoted so aggressviely away from AA4's vision and direction, which makes it tough for me to determine what an unpopular opinion with her would be, beyond that, like, she really needs her own game. I'd say DD is her game, but we need one where she's in the driver's seat and leading the story on her own. I don't want to see Phoenix or Apollo helping her anymore I'm sick of it KRKF
No clue if that's unpopular though, lol. Song I associate with them: I got nothin', sorry. Favorite picture of them: I like her angy sprite, it's cute.

"No me diga!" - TommyInnit
TW: Swearing
A/N: this is inspired by relationship with my half-sister! she has a lot of family gossip, and she tells me all of it >:D also, this is pretty much the same thing happening in her side of the family, but with names changed and a couple things tweaked
Tumblr media
"You will not guess what happened!"
As Tommy's older half-sibling, it was part of your job to be annoying. More specifically, when he was busy. But hey, being the annoying older sibling came with perks. Especially when you came home from your dad's to share the latest family gossip. It didn't particularly matter that he was trying to do coursework - you both knew he'd blame you if it wasn't done on time. But you also both knew that this was more important.
"What now?" He rolled his eyes as if he expected you to come back from a normal, relaxed weekend.
"Okay so," you sat on his bed opposite him, crossing your legs comfortably. "Did I tell you that Freya and Harrison broke up?"
His jaw dropped. "No!"
"Oh well, they did. Freya wanted more kids even though she's not done a bloody thing with the first three. Harrison was being like - rational - and went "no, not happening, ya silly bitch" and she was having none of it, so she broke off the engagement." You continued casually. "But now, she's got a new boyfriend already. Mad, innit?"
"Why does she want more kids if she doesn't care about the ones she actually has?" Tommy furrowed his eyebrows, subtly placing his laptop out of the way.
You laughed. "Don't ask me! That's what me and Vienna said. Freya tells Amelie everything and Amelie can't keep a secret for shit, so she's told us. But no, it gets better."
"Oh god, what now?"
"Bloke she's gone out with? Hazel's ex boyfriend, Jaiden. The one she dated all through uni and broke up with after he cheated on her."
Tommy always swore, on god, that he didn't care about the gossip you told him about. But whenever you came with more to share, he listened intently. Speaking of, he looked like a gold fish with his slightly parted mouth.
"I know!" You grinned. "I bet it's all kicking off on Christmas when we go to nan's, 'cause AJ's told Harrison he's still welcome at Christmas and I bet Freya's bringing Jaiden, too."
"Fuck off. You're telling me all this now?"
"I was going to tell you earlier but I didn't know if you were streaming or not! Amelie and Vienna watch your streams, they can't know I tell you this shit!"

Chemistry Test - Unnecessary IALS Angst
He underlined the subtopic he had just scribbled on his notebook and grabbed the giant textbook.
He was almost done with his studying for the day. He just needed to finish this last bit on Game Theory for his economics lecture from earlier this week.
He looked at the small clock on his study table, right next to a few framed photos of his family.
And his Bella.
12 minutes more.
He forced himself to look back at the book. He read and reread the passage. Once. Twice. Thrice.
He looked at the clock again.
7 minutes more.
He exhaled tightly and brought the book closer to himself, as if that would somehow help him concentrate better.
4 more minutes.
He highlighted the passage in a harsh green and demanded his brain to focus.
But his eyes went back to the clock.
It was fine.
It should be online now.
The interview.
He took a deep breath and looked back at the book. He started to write his notes on Game Theory.
He was two sentences in when he slammed the notebook shut and threw the textbook to a corner. He grabbed his laptop and climbed into the small bed in his dormitory.
He didn’t bother locking the door.
His roommate had gone out on a date with his new girlfriend, the boy’s football jersey thrown carelessly over the little computer chair in the corner of their shared room.
His own jersey was in the bathroom. He had washed it last night so he can wear it later today.
Kincaid went on YouTube and searched for the interview.
It was supposed to be up now.
He knew it.
He hated that he knew it.
“Do you think for the next season we could do a puppy interview?” Arthur asked.
“If they bring out the puppies, you won’t do the interview,” the dark-haired boy chuckled.
“See? You know me so well,” Arthur grinned and held up a hand. “We got this.”
“Bring it on, BuzzFeed!” the other boy winked and high-fived Arthur.
The Buzzfeed logo popped up and then the title said, ‘Chemistry Test with Noah and AJ’.
Kincaid sighed softly as he paused the video.
He wasn’t ready for this.
He wasn’t ready to see him.
He never has been.
Looking at Arthur had never been easy for him.
It’s been difficult. His instinct had always been to look away.
The way one does when they look at the sun.
But Kincaid had always stared right into the sun, knowing it could burn him whole.
He stared at the sun until he couldn’t.
Until he had decided his life was destined to be an eternal solar eclipse.
He had said goodbye to the sun.
And so, the sun had found a star.
Quite literally.
Christ.
Thinking of Arthur always turned him so bloody maudlin.
He sighed inwardly and pressed play.
“Hey guys,” Noah – the dark-haired boy waved at the camera. “This is Noah Schnapp.”
“And this is Arthur Jackson,” his ex-boyfriend smiled. “We’re doing the chemistry test with Buzzfeed.”
“Arthur,” Noah cleared his throat dramatically, holding onto a card with questions. “What is my favorite place in Camp Half-Blood?”
“The dining pavilion!” Arthur said cheerfully. “Because it’s where all the food is.”
“Nothing can be roasted marshmallow night,” the boy winked at the camera.
He was pretty.
Dark hair. Dark eyes.
Tall and lean and handsome.
He reminded Kincaid a lot of Lance – if Lance had a personality and remembered how to smile every now and then.
He couldn’t understand what Arthur saw in him.
He didn’t think someone like Noah would be Arthur’s type. But then again, what did he know anyway?
Maybe Noah made Arthur happy.
Arthur never asked for much. He never pushed.
All he wanted was to be with Kincaid.
Kincaid hadn’t been able to make Arthur happy. So, yes. What did he know anyway?
“Okay,” Arthur said and waved his card. “Who is my favorite Percy Jackson character?”
“Percy Jackson,” Kincaid smiled.
“Percy,” Noah chuckled. “That one was so easy.”
“We have the same name!” Arthur said dreamily. “And he is the best ever.”
Kincaid didn’t know why Arthur changed his last name when he started to act. He didn’t understand these things.
He had always preferred the name Lightwood-Bane. It reminded him that there were other people like him.
People who didn’t give up the fight. People who kept fighting and people won.
People who were connected not just by name, but by everything.
Because they fought.
“What’s my ideal date night?” Noah asked.
Arthur blushed softly. “Should I actually say it?”
Kincaid clutched the blanket tightly.
They knew they were dating.
The whole world knew it. The whole world loved it.
Kincaid pushed away the tightness in his chest.
He shouldn’t be feeling this way.
This was exactly what Arthur wanted.
For his love to be seen. For his love to be acknowledged.
Kincaid couldn’t give him that. He shouldn’t be mad that someone else could.
That wasn’t fair.
“He likes to stay at home and watch chick flicks,” Arthur giggled. “And pizza is mandatory.”
“It is,” Noah confirmed. “Your turn.”
“Okay,” Arthur smiled. “This is an easy one. What’s my favorite colour?”
Noah chuckled. “It’s purple.”
Kincaid rolled his eyes. “It’s Lavender.”
“Close,” Arthur shook his head. “It’s actually Lavender if we’re being specific.”
The questions went on and on. The boys answered one by one – all laughs and giggles and smiles.
Kincaid always answered before Noah did.
And he was always right.
He tried to take pleasure in it. He tried to take pride in it.
But what was the point?
“What’s one thing I don’t like about you?” Noah asked.
“You have things you don’t like about me?” Arthur pouted.
“Everyone does, Art,” the boy chuckled.
“Not everyone,” Kincaid mumbled.
“Okay,” Arthur hummed. “Is it the way I ask too many questions at once? My brother hates that.”
“I like it when you get excited and ask a lot of questions,” Noah said fondly, and Kincaid wanted to push him off a cliff or something. “It’s actually when you say things in French when you know I don’t understand that shit.”
“Ah,” Arthur said. “Je suis désolé. Je ne le ferai plus.”
Kincaid shook his head. “J'aime quand tu parles en français.”
“Stooop,” Noah groaned. “You’re the worst.”
“You love me,” Arthur stuck out his tongue and then blushed furiously.
“Tis true,” Noah said, winking at the camera.
Kincaid paused the video.
He took a shuddery breath, almost closing his laptop.
Don’t.
Don’t beat yourself about it.
It was for the best.
You could never give him this.
You could never tell the world how much you love him.
Don’t cry.
Don’t grieve something you were never meant to have in the first place.
He pressed play again.
“Oh, this is a good one,” Arthur said. “What’s my favorite song from Midnights?”
Kincaid opened his mouth to answer.
But he realized he didn’t actually know the answer.
He thought he was better than Noah.
But he really wasn’t.
He thought he knew Arthur better than everyone.
But he really didn’t.
“Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye! You were bigger than the whole sky!” Noah sang loudly, making Arthur giggle and hide his face behind his pretty green sweater that said ‘protect trans kids’.
Kincaid bit his lip.
He didn’t know this.
There were many things he didn’t know.
Because he was no longer part of Arthur’s life.
He will just like everyone else on the internet, collecting whatever crumbs he could get through the interviews and Arthur’s social media.
He will only know Arthur in the past tense. The boy he used to be.
He will never know the man Arthur will become.
“Oh, this one is tough,” Arthur chuckled. “Who is my favorite Lightwood-Bane?”
Kincaid smiled. “Lance.”
“Oh. That’s actually tough. I’m gonna say your dad,” Noah chuckled nervously. “Because I know he will see this and then ask me why didn’t pick him.”
Kincaid sighed.
Noah has met Arthur’s family.
He was already invited to weekend dinner. Kincaid knew because Noah would always post them on his instagram, always saying how much he loved Arthur’s papa’s cooking.
Kincaid also knew the cooking was amazing. Back in Idris, Arthur would always share whatever he brought for breakfast.
Kincaid loved the food. But he had never been able to tell Arthur’s papa that.
He certainly couldn’t put it on Instagram.
“Okay. Okay,” Noah laughed when Arthur made an inside joke Kincaid didn’t understand. They had inside jokes. Probably pet names too. “Who is my favorite Avenger?”
“Black Widow!” Arthur yelled.
“That’s correct!” Noah yelled back.
“Oh my god, we should dress up as Avengers for Halloween,” Arthur gasped suddenly.
“Or,” Noah grinned. “We could go as the Justice League.”
Arthur hummed. “You know what? Yes. We might even get my brother to agree to that.”
Noah knew Lance too.
Lance liked Noah. Lance did not like Kincaid.
They even used to get into fights.
Lance would probably be very happy to know that Arthur and Kincaid would never be together ever.
“Mate,” someone said. “You still not ready?”
Kincaid looked up from his laptop and looked at the clock. “Oh. Yes. I’ll be right down. Has the practice already started?”
“Not till you get there, captain,” his roommate chuckled.
Kincaid managed a smile and put the laptop away.
“What are you watching?” the boy looked at his screen. “Ah. They’re the ones from that Disney show, right? The one about warlocks?”
“Demigods,” Kincaid corrected automatically. “Erm. My little cousins like it.”
“You let children watch that show?” his roommate frowned.
Kincaid bit his lip. “Well, I don’t do it but-”
“I get it,” the boy chuckled softly. “My little sister is obsessed with it too. She loves these two. Something about her OTP. Whatever the hell that means.”
They were everyone’s OTP.
Kincaid knew what he would see if he scrolled down to the comment section.
Of course there will be some homophobia. But mostly it was just heart emojis and comments like ‘best couple ever’ and ‘I want what they have’ and ‘this is soulmate material’ and other things Kincaid didn’t really want to look at.
“I’ll see you downstairs,” his roommate grinned and grabbed his jersey as he walked out of the room.
Kincaid got out of bed and got dressed. He came out of the bathroom in his football uniform and cleaned up his study desk.
He grabbed the laptop.
He stared at Arthur’s face.
He looked away.
He looked back.
He pressed play.
“Last question,” Arthur said. “If I could turn into an animal, what would I choose?”
“Yikes,” Noah chuckled. “I don’t even know.”
Kincaid didn’t know either. He thought about it.
A cat.
Yes.
Probably a cat.
A baby goat.
No.
A panda.
It was impossible to choose. Arthur loved too many animals.
“I’m gonna say snake,” Noah grinned. “Then you can play with Merlin.”
“I don’t need to be a snake to play with Merlin. Our friendship transcends biology,” Arthur said playfully.
“Okay,” Noah chuckled. “Then what animal would you turn into?”
“A horse.”
“A horse?”
“Yeah.”
“Why a horse?” Noah laughed.
“I just like them,” Arthur said softly. “If I’m a horse then I can spend time with…other horses.”
Noah chuckled and shook his head.
Kincaid stopped the video and closed his laptop.
He put it away on his study desk.
Right next to the picture of Bella, the horse he trained with in Idris.

And now to show off my new obsessions
My Ramshackle ocs! Or Ramtrio as I like to call them. I don't have any full sheets for them so the only references I have of them is me trying to see what they would look like in game
Anyway to start of with is my new twstsona!
Tumblr media
I'll put info and the other two under the cut
Name- Yuuna (real name- AJ)
Pronouns- They/Them
So this sweet gal is just the typical yuusona, except for them already knowing about the events and characters. Honestly I don't have much to say about them besides they're just me but like actually perfect and pretty LOL.
I'll mostly use them for Ramtrio shenanigans or yumeing everyone because I'm that bitch that gets all the boys Dhwkehfkfh
Some fun facts.
Their eyebrow color is their natural hair color (the dark brown). They regularly have to retouch their hair to make sure it stays its pastel colors.
Sometimes they'll wear a binder depending on if they wanna look more androgynous or not. Or more masculine if they have to cross dress as a guy because they are that friend that will be the pretend boyfriend.
Next is a slight oldie but I never showed outside of friend discords (iirc)
Tumblr media
Name: Yuuto (real name- Calix)
Pronouns- He/They
Now here's the slu- I mean, ho- I MEAN- nah actually he's just a straight up slut dhskdhdkf. They'll flirt with everyone basically, no fucks given. The only time he would stop is if someone was seriously uncomfortable, he's respectful enough to take a step back. Usually this nature of theirs causes squabbles with Yuuki, which then causes the two to bicker like children.
Now some fun facts.
He actually was gonna be sorted into Diasomnia, which surprised the other Yuu since they thought he was magicless as well, but he refused to be sorted and asked to be in Ramshackle because "It would be more interesting".
His hair is the only one that's natural, the other two give him weird looks over it but say nothing since he's the one that helps them keep their hair dyed and healthy.
He actually has heterochromia, but he prefers to keep the other color (a bright as fuck ruby red) hidden since it stands out too much.
And now the final
Tumblr media
Name- Yuuki (real name-???)
Pronouns- She/They
Now here's the "real Yuu" in the trio, they legit have no idea what's going on nor is she prepared for it. What she does know is she's already done with everything, like legit she will throw a punch at someone annoying her (Ace and Yuuto being the main targets). They're like a spicy kitten, just don't annoy them and they'll soften up....eventually.
Fun facts!
They don't remember their real name, so the other two had to give them the name Yuuki. They didn't mind and just stuck with it.
She actually has albinism, she just hides it by dying her hair and wearing special contacts. She doesn't have a particular reason other then not wanting to stand out nor be seen as weak since if she's not wearing her contact her eyes are sensitive to light.
Something that they always have on hand is some sort of weapon. No joke even if you find one on them and take it away, they'll already have a spare out ready to fuck someone up if pissed off enough.
Now fun facts for all three as a trio!
Only in private do they call each other by their real names. There isn't a specific reason besides for wanting to be consistent.
All three spoil Grim in their own ways, Yuuna gives him lots of affection, Yuuto gives him lots of treats and food, while Yuuki....doesn't act superplex him every second.
And that's about all the info I've thought of/written. I plan to draw them or write their shenanigans more! Hopefully I won't lose motivation lmao
They usually have a day together of just spending time, whether that be shopping or just doing each other's nails (they always match in color).

MANIAC – Recon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw for; murder, strangling, arson, cage-fighting ig, severe injury, Minho is unconscious
“Don’t return until the hybrid has been retrieved and that venue is burned to the ground.” Their Boss’ words are clear as they hand out weaponry and earpieces to the five men standing outside the now shut doors of MANIAC. The plan was simple in theory; grab AJ, destroy the underground fighting ring. But nothing surrounding the bar, the owner and its staff was ever simple.
“Stay alive, you lot.” A promising smile, and an outstretched hand. For all their mystery, the owner has their own reasons for staging a recon for Jeongin’s boyfriend, rather than ignoring it in favour of running the – very successful – bar. And Jeongin is well aware.
“You got it Boss; thank you.”
The minivan is largely quiet, par the radio, the five all occupied with one thing or the other; Jisung resting his feet on the dashboard of the vehicle while he stares outside the window, Felix keeping an eye on the supplies they were going to be using to get in (namely, passes for the ‘event’ and vials of poisons) and watching the road from behind Minho’s spot in the driver’s seat. The other two are in their own world much the same, Hyunjin listening to Jeongin’s plans to douse the venue in question in gasoline. He’s done it before, with promising results, and his usual dealer promised to drop off several barrels of the stuff.
It’s approaching sunset, and Jeongin wants to paint the sky in oranges and reds.
The vehicle comes to a sudden stop and laughs echo when Jisung all but screams in shock, a pout of feigned hurt on his face as he gets himself upright. Seconds later, Jisung now sitting upright like a regular human being, in Hyunjin’s humble opinion, Felix hands out the passes and four other vials he had been protecting.
“What are we playing with this time Lix~?” Hyunjin hums, turning the vial in his hand and pocketing it. Felix has changed so much from the beacon of innocence he first saw him as, and something in Hyunjin’s heart warms as he listens to Felix talk about what they all do with a fire in his eyes.
He was Dr Frankenstein, and Felix was his perfect little monster.
“Tetrodotoxin~ I put them in syringe vials, and this is some expensive shit, so only use it when you really have to, aight?” Felix instructs, the Australian accent peeking through the end of his sentence. He’s shelled out a few grand for each vial, and if it gets wasted Felix can’t say who he’s going to hurt (Jisung) in compensation. It was his money on the line, after all.
Jeongin and Hyunjin are the first to split up and set themselves up; Hyunjin finding a vantage point on an abandoned building opposite the venue, a perfect line of sight for his first few targets. With some well-placed shots, the ‘bartender’ could be in and out with plenty of time to scout the building before the youngest ultimately sends it all up in smoke. Watching Jeongin slip inside from his spot, Hyunjin sets his sights on the first of the many organisers and official looking people on his hitlist tonight.
That’s it, turn around so I can see that pretty face.
A push on the trigger.  The effect is immediate, and the smirk grows on Hyunjin’s face like it was always meant to be there. Too easy. Clean up will come later, preferably from the fire that already has Hyunjin warming up at the thought. They could even make some twisted version of campfire roasted marshmallows if they find a convenience store open at this time. The hum of thanks from Jisung rings in his ear and Hyunjin watches as the vandal starts making his way into the back rooms. A helpful little source gave them a floorplan, and the five have committed it to memory lest they get lost.
“Your turn darling~” A sigh. A loving sigh.
“I’m boutta start calling you Sam again if you call me darling one more time Jin-ah…” Felix chuckles, putting his phone to his ear to mask the earpiece sitting just behind it.
“You should. I like hearing you call me Sam.” Another sigh. Hyunjin knows he’s pushing it, but his English name just sounded that much better coming from Felix. Everything sounds so much better coming from Felix.
“Fine; but just this once,” the Aussie knows it won’t be the last time. It never is. “You see the guy taking our passes, Sam? Take him out the second I get inside. We need some chaos to distract the audiences.”
Fire once Lix is inside; easy enough.
“Oh Bbokkie, I could listen to you talk like that for ever – fuck, you’re my perfect little monster.”
The conversation dies after that, and Hyunjin gets into position, his mind running with more than just the sightline his rifle is giving him of the bouncer checking the passes. Felix isn’t too far behind, a handful of people ahead of the raven. The line keeps moving, and the movie reel in Hyunjin’s head gets louder, more vivid, and Hyunjin can remember that night perfectly.
Four people left.
Sam waits at the top of the building. Yongbok’s been the best thing this messed up world has blessed him with. A ray of sunshine in a world of sin. Ready to be corrupted. Ready to be moulded.
Three people left.
“It’s gorgeous, isn’t it Yongbokkie? The world at your feet.” Sam hums, leaning against the wall as Yongbok stares at Gangnam’s night view. He could show Yongbok the world; give him the world. All he needs is for Yongbok to do this one thing for him.
“Beautiful, Sam…You just want to fall right in.”
Two people left.
“Would you fall? Fall for me?” Sam’s voice was sin; dripping with honey and hidden promises of something more if Yongbok just gives in. Gives in to the warm touch on his cheek that the Australian is subconsciously leaning into. His back is to the edge of the roof. He’d fall if he took a step backwards. Fall twenty-five feet to the concrete below.
Maybe it won’t be so bad. “I’d fall for you, Sam. I’d fall of this building for you.”
One more.
A hand on his chest. Sam stares at him with an intensity he’s never seen before and maybe Yongbok doesn’t hate it. Doesn’t hate that his life is now in the Devil’s hands.
The Devil always was God’s favourite.
“I’ll tell you a secret, Yongbokkie, do you want to hear it?” Fuck, the way Sam says his name…there isn’t a breath in his throat anymore. So he nods; eager and desperate.
“Yes— please…” Sam leans in and Yongbok listens intently. His chest is tight with anticipation.
“My name is Hyunjin.”
And Yongbok falls. He falls all twenty-five feet to the ground below, and Hyunjin is there, falling after him.
The shot is clean; right between the eyes just like Boss taught him. He hears Felix’s laugh at the commotion happening below and that’s the sniper’s cue to get off the roof and pick his second position.  The roof was grimy anyway – what a waste of architecture that never gets to see the light of completion.
Minho’s the last one to go in, pocketing the pass in his hand and sliding in through the panic. If someone asks to the see the pass, he’ll have it on hand; for now, it’s useless. The venue is somewhere he’s never been before, but everything is all too familiar. Too real now that he’s inside and can hear the sounds of fighters getting ready. Even without the map committed to memory, Minho will probably be able to find the arena with little difficulty.
This was his life too, at one point. Fighting to earn a coin before retreating to your room – or worse, some place on the streets – to lick your wounds if you made it out alive.
His chest seizes as he hears the sound of the MC, the stars in his pocket glowing warmth in the coldness of his environment. The former fighter palms over the pendent; reminders. Reminders that his family – his new one – are waiting for him to come home safe. His surroundings start to slip away, however, as he looks down at his hands and sees eighteen-year-old Minho’s hands staring right back at him.
He's back there.
His hands are bloody now, shaking as he looks up and sees a dead man laying across from him. Minho doesn’t mean to kill him, but he’s young and they promised to give him an extra portion of food and few extra bills of cash if he wins tonight. It’s someone’s brother, his mind remembers; Kim Jun-something. A twenty-two year old with enough luxury to live in the venue with his younger brother.
He killed him. He’s a murderer, at eighteen. He’s not even an adult yet.
The ringing in his head gets louder. And louder. And louder—
“What’s this, everyone? The ace himself, Lee Know has returned!” Blinking, Minho’s confused; how do they know the alias he used? And then he sees it; he’s in the cage, and the doors are shut. Felix is in the corner of his eye, and Minho can hear him saying that Sung is gonna cut the lights, distract them for a bit. Sorry hyung, but we gotta improvise.
“I don’t fight any—” He doesn’t get to finish his sentence when pain blooms against his ribs, his opponent intent on causing as much damage as possible right off the bat. It stings, and Minho feels several shards. He checks his jacket, ducking from his opponent and his face falls.
They’re broken.
There’s nothing left to lose, and Minho throws his jacket to the side and lunges. If playing along and cage-fighting will give the kids enough time to get stuff done, then so be it. Cage-fighting is dirty, so he plays dirty; the butterfly-knife he keeps in his boot is brought out and Minho wastes no time in dealing with opponent after opponent, the rhythm returning to him much like bike riding.
He’s winded by the time the lights finally go out, only just managing to find his jacket and run out as the cage door is no longer electronically sealed.
Never again.
“Hello again, Lee Know hyung.”
Jeongin has been running ever since he set foot inside the arena, searching and searching for any sign of AJ in the halls of dorm rooms. He sticks out like a sore thumb; skin unmarred and well-fitting clothes. He’s heard stories from Minho about what his hyung used to do to earn money, and as much as he’s glad Minho isn’t in that position, that position is exactly where AJ has been forced into.
Using the wall to stop his momentum, Jeongin freezes. He hears whimpers, and he swears he saw something familiar in the corner of his eye. His heart drops. Kicking the door out of the way and ignoring the looks from the other people in the room.
AJ wasn’t…were they? No, no, they couldn’t have been.
The lights go out as he’s searching AJ for any injuries and he curses, bringing out a lighter to continue when he’s pulled onto his feet and spun around so fast he nearly gets whiplash. It’s a tough-looking thug, someone who would have easily scared Jeongin if he wasn’t hellbent on saving his boyfriend.
“The hybrid’s mine kid, fuck off before I beat you with your own ribs.” Jeongin laughs. He laughs, switching on his earpiece and letting his hyungs in on the conversation he’s having. It’s Jisung who picks up, and Jeongin knows he can stall for at least a good five minutes.
He’ll have to sacrifice one of his good lighters, Jeongin realises, as he watches the beefy thug walk up to him; the height difference isn’t too substantial, and the arsonist bites back a crafty grin as he spots a cotton thread. A necklace.
“Take one more step big boy and I’ll make a barbeque out of your neck.” Jeongin hums, yanking the bigger man to eye level and flicking the lighter dangerously close to his ear, the roar of the flame that much louder grazing the thug’s ear. There’s a look in Jeongin’s eyes as the words leave his mouth – he knows this – and it screams of a crazed sincerity.
It’s unnerving.
“Fuck man, I’ll leave you and the— sorry, your boyfriend alone. Just get out before the guards see you.” Just to reiterate his point, Jeongin sears the cotton thread off, singing the thug’s neck and leaving a grown man yowling in pain as he works on picking his boyfriend up, sneaking him out of the building.
He throws the minivan door open and bundles his boyfriend in thick coats and a blanket, kissing their forehead and sighing in relief. AJ was safe now.
“Hyungs, I’ve got him. Ransack it before I send it up in smoke.”
Jisung chuckles as he approaches the room Jeongin was in not that long ago, the same look in his eye. What he lacks in physical height he makes up for in strength and force of presence, however, as he ransacks the room and aims his bat at anything worth smashing. Pocketing anything of value to pawn off later, he does the same to any other open rooms he comes across, leaving a trail of Jisung-shaped destruction in his wake.
He meets Felix and Hyunjin at the offices, both men beat up with guards lying dead at their feet. There’s a few bruises on the pair of them, but it looks like Hyunjin got the worse deal – a gash on the taller man’s arm.
“Did I seriously miss the fun, again?!” He whines, much to the amusement of the other two as he kicks in the door and nearly screams because, yes the door is open, but fuck did he just snap his ankle doing it? Either way, the door is open, and the trio spend little time going through every safe and computer they can see, stealing an unused duffle bag to stash any wrapped up bills of cash.
“Has anyone heard from Minho hyung?” Jeongin asks.
The room freezes. Three pairs of eyes ask silent questions as Jisung dashes out of the room, swearing under his breath as he tries to remember the last time they collectively heard Minho say anything since he mentioned heading into the arena.
The arena. Minho is at the arena.
Minho can faintly smell gasoline as the hand on his throat squeezes tighter, his head spinning. Jeongin must have start spraying the gasoline, his mind tries to tell him, but all he can focus on is that he’s currently being strangled against the wall of the arena, and his assailant knows him enough to call him hyung.
“Look I— fuck, I don’t know how you know me, but you’ve got to let go.” Bad idea. The hand gets tighter, and through the white noise in his ears, Minho hears it.
“You remember Kim Junseok, don’t you hyung? My brother?”
His ribs are already battered and bruised, and Minho’s sure he’s sprained something, but the name brings back years of suppressed memories and suddenly the bartender can recognise who’s hellbent on killing him. It’s Junhyeong. His first victim’s younger brother. The look of recognition on his face must shine like a neon sign, because Junhyeong laughs. He laughs and tightens the grip on Minho’s neck even more. It’s going to leave bruises – if he makes it out alive, that is.
Minho’s phone isn’t in his pocket, likely dropped somewhere he can’t remember as he flails to try and pry the fingers away from his neck, black spots dancing in the corners of his vision. He needs to get Junhyeong’s hands off of him soon, or he’s going to be out cold. Permanently, if the expression on Junhyeong’s face is anything to go by.
Then he hears plastic. Plastic zip-ties.
“Let’s get this fucking thing off first hyung…” Junhyeong reaches for the necklace, and Minho panics. His pleads fall on deaf ears as the pendant is crushed under Junhyeong’s boot, the bartender’s heart breaking along with it. It spurs on the last of his adrenaline, however, as Minho reaches for the tetrodotoxin syringe in his back pocket, silently grateful that it’s remained intact.
He plunges the needle into Junhyeong’s neck, ripping it out and wincing at the spray of blood as he tries to pry the zip-ties off. Sorry kid…at least you’ll see your brother again.
He can’t get it off in time, and he slumps against the wall as his mind registers the smallest  hints of footsteps.
Jisung nearly cries in relief when he finds Minho, texting on the older man’s phone to Jooheon, rambling as he relays what he’s seeing for himself. And then he sees the zip-ties and Jisung has to scramble to remove them because how long has Minho been without oxygen? He pockets the broken pendant too, hauling Minho into his arms bridal style and booking it as fast as he can out of the venue because they all need to leave now.
“Jisung hyung—! Is— is Minho hyung..?”
“Just about alive!” Jeongin relaxes almost immediately. AJ is safe, and no one is dead. Throwing the rest of the nearly-empty gasoline barrels towards the building, the arsonist stares at his good lighter. A lighter shaped like a deck of cards. There will be others, he reminds himself, as he throws it as hard as he can and watches the flames start to engulf the venue, the inmates and struggling fighters left inside no longer his concern.
It's as beautiful as he imagined it.
Felix nearly passes out as he drives them all back home, dizzy from the after effects of the adrenaline rush and a job well done.
“I can’t wait to get some good fucking sleep.” Hyunjin groans. They laugh, tired, beaten, some unconscious, but alive. They all need sleep after this.
Perhaps a hospital.

#71 and sambucky for the spotify wrapped ficlet?
71. "Wings" by Little Mix
also on AO3
In the weird, funhouse mirror version of life that Sam lives these days, Wakanda has become something of a constant.
It’s not so much that they go there regularly–this is only the third time in two years–but they rarely linger anywhere else long enough for familiarity to set in.
Usually, that’s a good thing: if there’s always something to worry about and always someone to look out for, then Sam can’t think too hard about how he’s feeling. If Sam can’t think too hard about how he’s feeling, then he doesn’t have to contend with his increasingly frequent impulse to just…surrender himself at the nearest American embassy and hope that they give him the same deal they gave to Scott and Clint.
(It’s the impossibility of that last part that keeps him from going through with it, most days.)
They don’t have to constantly look over their shoulders in Wakanda, though, which means that Sam’s brain has time to meander to all the places it shouldn’t. He never gives much thought to the date when they’re hopping from place to place, but he’d caught sight of it on the newspaper this morning and felt a pang in his chest.
He’d done the math instinctively: Cass had been born on November 17th, 2012, which meant that today was his fifth birthday. AJ, meanwhile, was a June baby. He’d been bright-eyed and tiny when Sam last saw him, near-constantly chattering in his own baby babble. He’d be old enough to be toddling around the house by now, probably following his brother around everywhere the way Sarah had followed Sam.
There had been nothing that Sam wanted to do more at that moment than just retreat to their rooms and curl into a ball under the covers, to just keep the world at bay until the sudden and terrible ache in his chest eased at least a little. His parents had raised him better than that, though, and the Wakandans had given him and the others considerably more grace than they deserved, so he’d gone to all the meetings and discussions he was invited to, had walked the gardens and attended meals when asked.
By evening, the ache still sits in his chest like a stone, and he’s not sure how much good grace he has left in him. He’s on the couch, biding his time until he can disappear off to sleep without the others realizing that something is wrong.
In the next room, he can hear Nat offering her probably unsolicited opinion on Steve’s outfit–“You’re an artist, Rogers. How are you this afraid of color?”–and Steve drily replying that colors had been invented after he went into the ice.
They’re supposed to be King T’Challa’s guests at an art show in the city, something about new voices and their takes on the union of art and engineering. Back in the non-funhouse-mirror version of Sam’s life, it’s the exact kind of night out that he would have appreciated, maybe even taken a date to.
He’s begged off for tonight, making noise about jet lag and wanting to get some sleep when he can. Steve had tried to convince him to come along anyway, but Nat hadn’t pushed, just nodded with that too-sharp look in her eyes.
Sam’s got the heels of his hands pressed against his eyes when he hears the door open. He looks up, wondering if Steve and Nat are heading out, but it’s just Bucky, gently pressing the door shut behind him.
“Hey, Sam,” he says. “You look terrible.”
They’ve graduated to first names and, apparently, to blunt honesty. Sam can’t even find it in himself to be annoyed; he’s pretty sure that’s dead-on.
“Thanks,” Sam says flatly. “You’re a little underdressed for a royal art show. Or have you just fully committed to the grunge vibe?”
Bucky’s eyebrows knit together, and for a second he opens his mouth like he’s going to ask a question. Then, with a little shake of his head, he just says, “I’m not going; I’ve already seen most of the pieces.”
“What are you, moonlighting as a curator now?”
“Only when the goats have gone to sleep for the night.”
Sam feels his lips twitch up into what might be his first real smile of the day.
“I saw a lot of the pieces come together, is all. Princess Shuri’s got a lab in the city that the artists were working out of. I went there a few times when they were…” Bucky trails off, gesturing to the shiny new vibranium cap on his left shoulder.
He nods. “You headed home? I’m sure those goats are missing you something awful.”
“Yeah, they get real antsy if I don’t read them a bedtime story,” says Bucky.
Sam wouldn’t put it past him at this point. They’d gone out to visit Bucky and his new charges yesterday, and while Steve had sketched the herd and Nat watched the older goats, Sam had kept his eye on the littlest one. He’d thought he was going to prevent some great escape as it wriggled past the fence, but as it turned out, all that the baby had wanted to do was follow Bucky around as he took care of his chores. It stayed on his heels, but ducked away whenever he turned his head. Bucky pretended not to notice, but Sam had seen him dropping little flowers for the goat to snack on.
It’s quiet for a bit, and Bucky’s eyebrows are furrowed again.
“Did you want me to grab Steve?” asks Sam. “I think he and Nat are about to head out. She just spent the last forty minutes trying to wrangle him into a green jacket, but you know he’s going to somehow manage to wear beige in the end.”
From the other room, although muffled as if by fabric, Sam hears a faint, “Hey!” from Steve.
“Am I wrong, though?” he calls out over his shoulder, before turning back to Bucky. “I can-”
But that’s as far as he gets, because then Bucky is blurting, “Steve said you do your own repairs on your wings?”
Sam feels his eyes go a little bit wide. “I- what?”
Bucky doesn’t speak again, just looks back at Sam, equally wide-eyed, and gestures vaguely like that’s supposed to clarify anything. There’s no way Sam’s going to get anything more out of him without answering first.
“Just a little maintenance after missions,” he says. He’s not sure why he’s downplaying it. They haven’t been able to do much more than basic upkeep while they’re on the run, but Sam knows those wings inside and out, had insisted on hovering over Tony’s shoulder and quibbling over every modification until he knew the why and how of it. The princess had offered to take a look at them when they landed, but Sam hadn’t been able to bring himself to say yes. “Why?”
“I heard that they took some damage in that firefight in Prague,” Bucky says. He’s not quite looking at Sam, fidgeting a little with the hem of his shirt as he pauses for a long moment. “There’s a room in the south wing. Used to be Princess Shuri’s schoolroom.”
Sam has the stray, hysterical thought that this is the weirdest way he’s ever been propositioned, but he pushes that down and just nods instead.
“It’s a workshop now. Guests are welcome to use it,” says Bucky, finally meeting Sam’s eyes. “You could work on the wings there. If, uh- if you wanted to.”
“Oh,” says Sam. The wingpack has been sitting in the corner all day, mostly ignored, but suddenly Sam’s hands are itching to take the wings apart properly again.
He stands, and he doesn’t need to do more than nod before Bucky is leading the way out of their quarters and down the hall.
It’s quiet in the palace at night: there are no other guests, and the whole royal family is in attendance at the art show. The main corridor in the south wing is dim, in spite of the enormous picture window that faces out onto Brinin Zana. Ahead of him, Bucky’s footsteps don’t seem to make a sound, and Sam feels the need to do the same.
They eventually come to a stop at a doorway where Bucky punches a code into the keypad. The doors slide open with a quiet hum, and the lights cascade on as the two of them step inside.
Sam had gotten to see Princess Shuri’s main lab the last time they were here: packed with assistant and prototypes and multiple holographic displays. It had been incredible but overwhelming, and Sam is relieved when the workroom turns out to look nothing like it.
There are steel topped workbenches and large drafting tables, tools arrayed neatly along one of the walls and a bank of computers in the corner by a large projection screen. Sam thinks of his dad then, of the old shed behind the house where he used to fix up parts for the boat and taught Sam and Sarah to do the same.
He looks at the wrenches, meticulously organized by size, and the neat rolls of wire lined up like his dad always kept them, and suddenly he wants to go home so badly that he aches with it.
His hands shake as he sets the wingpack on one of the workbenches, and he only belatedly remembers that Bucky is still there with them. When he finally manages to get words out, all he can say is a quiet, “Thank you.”
Bucky nods, but makes no move to leave. Instead, he walks over to the computers and activates the display, surprisingly adept with the holographic screen. He seems to be looking for a program, and once he’s got it pulled up–there’s a drop down menu of some sort and a keypad–he turns back to Sam.
“Calls out of Wakanda are untraceable, you know.”
Sam had assumed as much, given the sheer technological capabilities here, but he’s not sure why Bucky is telling him this. He doesn’t say anything in reply, just bobs his head in a nod.
“Just in case you had anyone you wanted to call,” Bucky says. He shrugs, but it’s not as casual as it should be. “You, uh- you wouldn’t have to worry about the call getting traced or them being unsafe or anything.”
“Oh,” says Sam again. Oh, he thinks to himself, and looks with wide eyes at the fidgeting assassin-turned-goatherd on the other side of the room.
“I’ll leave you to it,” Bucky says, after a few moments of Sam trying and failing to say anything more.
There are about a hundred things that Sam should say. He should ask how Bucky’s doing, ask if he wants to stick around, tell him how much this means and how much he appreciates it, but he can’t seem to get any of the words out.
All he can do is call across the room just as Bucky reaches the door, his voice hoarse.
“Thank you, Bucky. Really.”
Bucky gives him a smile, tiny and heartbreaking, and nods in acknowledgment.
“Good night, Sam,” he says after a second, and slips out the way he came.

Samaras and Pappi
Some plants fly, some should stay on the ground.
It's been a long while since Kel was folded into a helicopter - usually the Foundation gives enough charity and legroom to put them in coach. But this new site isn't exactly easily accessible, so he gets it. Doesn't make the noise or the very obvious not on the ground-ness of it all any better. They are very much NOT looking out the door. Or the window. Or that other window. Or- okay, no more windows.
There's one benefit to the way life is now - he's never bored. Still, it doesn't take long before most of the others stop responding with complaints that he's gunking up the spaces with his pain. The familiar tone that accompanies a gruff "Sorry, kid, but I feel like my eyeballs are gonna fall out!" helps for a bit, but the ringing only seems louder in the emptiness of those invisible walls.
There's a deep sigh before he digs into his pack and pulls out a handful of candies. He picks through them with a frown before selecting a small toffee caramel and dumping the rest to bounce around freely in the bag. The wrapper tucks into a pocket, the candy into his left cheek and a small smile wraps around it. The song comes unbidden, but unsurprising. Ally, Bally, Ally Bally Bee is hummed around the mouthful of sugar as Kel tries to remember for the umpteenth time whether 'coulter's candy' was something they actually ate whenever their mum sang it all those years ago. He's pretty sure it's not a real brand. But there's no internet here to confirm, so there's a brief moment where he decides this little treat is from Coulter's. The wave of unease afterwards is new though. He's tempted to pull some of the others' attention to see if it's something to be concerned about, but the feeling settles after only a thought.
There's still a prickle along their spine, so despite every screaming instinct reminding Kel that there's no ground within an acceptable distance, he peers through the glass. It's a pretty area to be sure. Still way too far away in a vertical sense. He hopes the flight will be done soon, he might be from an older generation, but the young'ins and their "floor time" have the right idea.
It's much easier to turn away and rifle through the other pockets of the bag for the handful of magnets that are never far away when outside of the lab. These are strong ones. There's something soothing about forcing a finger between the planes and then the click on the other side. Back and forth around a knuckle. Around and around...
If you don't remember a dream, did you really have it?
He needs water. Or mouthwash. Candy right before sleeping for who knows how long was a terrible mistake. Something has crawled into their mouth and died. Blinking after the apparently hilarious pilot, a view of a forest comes to mind, but the trees are wrong for this area. The smell of the sea doesn't reach these altitudes, and there are no craggy cliffs to wander on the other side of the metal door. This is a new home, but it's hard to say what is different and the same.
It's always a test to see how low he needs to duck under the blades while they're slowing, but luckily there seems to be stairs directly under the door. He can still feel his bones rattling in time with the propeller the way they've been doing the last many hours, but the asphalt under his feet is close enough to calm the nerves.
The man waiting for them seems to have more baggage than Kel does, and they're moving in! There's an awkward little head bob of a nod in response to the brusque welcome, but they don't think the DIrector even saw it. AJ did though, and the flood of questions is enough to push past knowing that the big boss of the new Site doesn't want him there.

Been hanging out on the Umbrella Academy reddit a bit more than usual because they're having a poll on favourite characters (I am utterly unsurprised that the top two are definitely going to be Klaus and Five, although not sure which order--though I think Klaus will win the day--followed by Diego and Ben). But I'm being constantly reminded that the comprehension level of the average viewer is...astonishingly low. And there are so many young'uns over there that equate likeability with morality. Hazel made it to the 5th position, where as Allison was #26 (only beat out Leonard), Viktor was #16, the Handler got out around #13 or so? Meanwhile Agnes, Pogo, fucking HERB beat them out. Lila only made it to #8, but Luther got to #6? Seriously? Even if I've grown to like him a lot more than I did in the first couple seasons, 6th?? I'm sort of astonished. Like I get that the Handler is evil, but she's so much FUN! She'd easily make it in my top 5. And yes, I despise what they've done to Allison, but the fact that she was beaten by EVERY Sparrow, including Christopher, and random characters like AJ and Herb? Are you fucking kidding me? I can't help but imagine a lot of the hate for her and Viktor is from bigots, ngl.
But now that we're down to the final few, people are bringing out all the reasons to hate characters, and some of them start dog-piling on Diego for trying to cover up Klaus' death for and how he was just going to get rid of his body, etc. And I'm just like??? That's not how the scene went at all? Diego was horrified at Stan for wanting to dissolve the body and also yells at him when he suggest burning it. He explicity says they're going to take Klaus to the family and tell them the truth, and that they'll understand it was an accident. David does amazing acting in those couple scenes. His helpless anger that he tries to contain for Stan's sake, his grief, his confusion and elation when Klaus wakes up. I think it's pretty obvious that Klaus is his favourite sibling and always has been, and those scenes show his love so beautifully. (I just wish they'd hugged in the elevator, but Diego did seem to be trying to avoid jarring Klaus' wound/worried about his steadiness upon reviving.)
Anyway, I'd love to see everyone's top 10! Mine are: 1. Klaus 2. Five (this is so, so close, and changes between them constantly) 3. Lila 4. Diego 5. The Handler 6. Umbrella Ben 7. Grace 8. Luther 9. Reginald 10. Viktor
(Allison, the Swedes, and Ray are my honourable mentions. Yes the Swedes count as one.)
