When does Team USA start training?

“Team USA will train in Bratislava, Slovakia, starting May 5 and play a pre-tournament game there against Slovakia on May 7.” X idk if they’re doing any training in the US before leaving but if they did it would hypothetically be in michigan at usa hockey arena

Has Jack (or any of the Hughes) ever said anything about what he might do after retirement. If not what can you see him doing?

i dont think any of them have ever specifically talked about retirement. but both quinn and luke majored in sports management, so maybe something like that? i wouldn't be shocked if any of them kind of followed their dad (& mom)'s path and went into coaching/player development. maybe even broadcasting like ellen used to. quinn and jack especially are such hockey nerds it's hard to imagine them doing anything outside of hockey. (not that luke isn't, ive just heard less about him being obsessed with stats and remembering every goal ever etc the way jack and quinn are).

Hello HughesDB, since Ellen was at the game in Nashville last night have we had any confirmed sightings of Jack or Luke? I know Jack is unlikely but maybe Luke will try and fit a game in before he leaves for Worlds? A girl can dream 😞

no 😔😔😔 i wish tho. i’m guessing jack still needs help with stuff bc of his shoulder and can’t be alone, so luke is prob helping him. idk what they’re gonna do when he heads off to europe tho, i think that’s in a few days? maybe if the canucks get to round 2 jack will be healed enough to make an appearance.

I don't know if you've talked about this already but... I liked your advice on becoming the blog you want to see lol so how do I start looking for content? like surprisingly there's not much new stuff on auston matthews for example which is strange given how long he's been around lol

i have these posts i made a while ago but it's more just resources than advice... i think a place to start is first of all make a new instagram account so your irl friends dont think youre weird. and then follow your blorbo/their team/everyone theyre friends with/etc. and then download stuff when they pop up! i check google images/news every 24 hours (filter by date) for jack stuff and it's just a habit at this point. luckily auston matthews is a unique enough name you wont have to wade thru a bunch of random ppl LMAO. to start u off, have a green screen video of him that i doubt anyone was meant to see. i hope this was helpful, if u have more questions let me know!

Hughes was certainly the center of attention for much of the weekend, even when he wasn’t playing. He sat in the stands at Harborcenter with the other New Jersey scratches Saturday when the Devils were playing the Penguins. Two young girls came over to get photos with him while the game was going on. Then a couple of guys wandered over for autographs. At that point, vice president of communications Pete Albietz moved over to sit in front of Hughes and discourage further interactions. When Hughes went over to the makeshift Devils’ radio booth for a first intermission interview with Matt Loughlin, a large crowd formed on the concourse around them and followed him as he walked back to his teammates, signing autographs along the way. Eventually, a member of the Harborcenter security personnel escorted Hughes to the team’s locker room. There were dozens of former NHL players in the facility working as scouts for other teams, including multiple Hall of Fame members. None of them were drawing attention like Hughes was this weekend.

it was actually an instagram post, not a tweet, but i don’t remember what it was. it was early december 2020. if i had to guess it was probably from this guy who they are unfortunately friends with. for jack it’s not really one specific thing, but with both the prudential sponsorship and the hockey in new jersey work he’s talked about money in a way that (in my opinion) makes it seem like he knows he really lucked out, as opposed to like “deserving” it or something, and not everyone is so fortunate. one time i remember he specifically talked about how it was important that HNJ especially worked with inner city newark kids which kinda surprised me bc newark is primarily black and i just generally don’t expect stupid nhl players to be aware of things like institutional racism. again it’s possible the pr team gave him a list of talking points or something lmao and i don’t want to make it sound like he’s karl marx reincarnated but i just don’t get conservative vibes, personally. but i could be wrong!

hi! new jack hughes fan. can you explain why jack hughes was in the u18 team for the ntdp in his first year? did he play all games with the u18 team or was he mostly playing for the u17 team?

both! you can see the game log for all the games he played in, 24 for u17 and 36 for u18, so a bit more for u18 but close to half and half. basically he got "called up" to play for the u18s bc he was so good

in this video he lists real by dierks bentley, beautiful day by u2, superstar, mr. jones by counting crows, won't back down by tom petty, and black by dierks bentley. his fav song in october 2022 was dangerous by morgan wallen. last year he listened to love lost by mac miller a lot. his chosen draft walk up song was i'm coming home by diddy and skylar grey. he sang wagon wheel with ty and jesper boqvist as a rookie humiliation thing. dierks bentley is like his number one guy (and he saw him in concert last summer) as hes said a gazillion times but he also mentions morgan wallen and kane brown. that's all i can remember/find. interesting to note is he claims he can't name a single taylor swift song, which i find incredibly hard to believe. and his first ever concert was lady gaga. hilarious to me.
