Summary: John was a patient man, but he had his limits. That includes having to navigate his way around a maze you called IKEA and the impossibility of having to put the bloody bed together—his patience was even shorter after being interupted twice and a broken bed as an aftermath. The frown has marred John’s face the moment he had placed the car on park and he was greeted by the annoying blue and yellow signage. It still confused him to no end why you insist on buying a bed in IKEA when he could make one himself.

“Are you excited to go to IKEA?” The gentle baby talk lingered besides him as he turned towards you whose attention was solely on your six month old daughter on the car seat.

It was another special occasion for the three of you aside from buying a new bed for them, you had also decided that it was time to invest on some more furniture and decoration for the baby’s bed.

John grumbled under his breath as he reluctantly got out of the car, following his wife as you handed him the sling carrier to carry your daughter. Without another word, he placed his daughter onto the carried on his chest and was greeted with the lovely grumble of his pride and joy.

“You’re the only thing keeping me sane now, Love.” He whispered gently kissing on top of her head before following his wife through the towering blue and yellow entrance.

The sprawling maze of Scandinavian furniture loomed before him like a daunting labyrinth, and he could help but feel a surge of irritation bubbling within him. Why can his wife just allow him to make the bloody bed or more specifically fix the one they had broken last night instead?

“Can’t we just order online like normal people?” John muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the chatter of shoppers around. He honestly hated being surrounded by people and having to act hyper vigilant because of it.

You turned to him in amusement, but a sympathetic glance lingered, you know all too well his disdain for crowded stores and aimless browsing. But you also know him enough to know he hated online shopping just as much.

“Come on, John. We’re just here for the bed and some decorations for Katherine’s bed.” You tried your best to reassure him.

But as you three continued to venture deeper into the seemingly endless aisles, John’s frustration only intensified. Every turned seemed to lead to yet another showroom, each meticulously staged to showcase the latest in minimalist design. He couldn’t help but scoff at the idea of spending hours wandering through fake living rooms and bedrooms.

"This is ridiculous," John grumbled, scanning the maze of shelves for any sign of escape. "How can anyone enjoy this?"

You chuckled rubbing his bearded cheek before kissing him on the cheeks, knowing there was only one way to placate him and his stormy mood.

“How about this,” You began pulling him towards one of the less populated showrooms. “How about once we’re finished with shopping for the bed and decorations, we can bring Katherine to your parents’ house for a few days so we could handle fixing the bed and redesigning Katherine’s room?” You wiggled your brows knowingly.

John was slowly cracking at the proposition.

“Three days. One day for creating that bloody bed and two days of whatever I want.” He proposed.

“How about a week and we fly your parents and Katherine to Disneyland?” You offered.

“Deal.” John shook your hands sealing the deal and your fate for the weak.

Even with the deal in place, John could not hide his annoyance. Meandering through the store, his annoyance grew with each passing moment especially when you three had found yourself walking in circles for a couple of times. The endless stream of shoppers, the blaring announcements over the intercom, and the overwhelming array of choices left him feeling claustrophobic and irritable.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity and the growing irritable baby on his chest, they had reached the checkout line with their items at hand. John let out a sigh of relief, eager to finally escape the chaos of the store.

“We are never setting foot in an IKEA again.” John muttered to you as soon as you three had exited.

“I hope you keep your word and keep the bed sturdy.” You pointed out knowingly.

John rolled his eyes, not wanting to remember the reason behind the broken bed in the first place.

Last Night

“Get out!”

John was close to a coronary at this point. It was the third time tonight that someone had interrupted him with his wife and he was ready to shoot anyone else that would try barging into his bedroom without bloody knocking.

“I told you to lock the bedroom door.” You giggled finding the whole thing amusing. Even with you barely clothed at this point just as much as him, you were barely affected by the fact that Gaz had seen the two of you almost having sex.

John had wished he had never brought the three to his home, he had wished no one knew about their relationship, and he had wished that his wife was not so hospitable as you were right now even after the incident that had now become a common occurrence when everyone was off base.

If only he could turn back time.

“If I had known that those Muppets didn’t know how to knock I would have.” He muttered, the mood now dampened with annoyance of being interrupted.

“Just lock the door and fuck me already.” You giggled, nudging him with your foot and he somehow sprang back to life at that.

Wasting no time, he got up and locked the door before jumping right back into devouring you. You were a giggling mess as he began to strip you of what remained of your clothes.

Even before John could begin, the sound of Soap’s laughter and the crying that came soon after from their daughter had finally sealed the deal that the moment was ruined permanently for the night.

“Bloody fucking hell.” John couldn’t help himself from cursing as you burst into fits of laughter as you stood up and slid on your night robe and opened the door to tend to your crying daughter and attempt to scold Soap from keeping it down.

Slumping his full body into the bed in frustration, the last thing John would have ever expected to happen was for the bed to give out under him further sealing his fate for the night.

“God fucking damn it.”

Wade/Nancy is an artist who's been surrounded by negative opinions. She currently works under the username Grisgrisdoll, but she's widely known as the name that haunts her past, Kastoway.

I've seen many, many accusations being thrown online against this artist, but I noticed that for many people spreading them this knowledge is secondhand. I found her Deviantart account some time after she changed her username to Kastoway in the beginning of 2014 due to my hyperfixation on creepypastas at the time. I never actually followed her, but I visited her account every now and then, so if I missed something important, it was because of that and I will be glad if you tell me. In this post, I'll list the incidents in chronological order *with evidence* and then give my own opinion at the end.

One thing to know about Wade is that she has had many different names and usernames throughout her life. In addition, she is comfortable with people using either "she", "he" or "they" to refer to her. I'll be alternating the pronouns and using both her names.

He was 13 when she created Ticci Toby [1]. He posted her first drawing of him on the 19th of November 2012 on DeviantArt [2] and Toby's origin story one year later on the 23rd of May 2013 [3]. Wade changed the personality of Toby to make him less upbeat, more tragic and more scary. One of the first instances where he showed discomfort with how people portrayed Toby that I remember was in a publication she posted on the last day of 2013 [4]. This situation ended up with a small redesign of Toby on 5th of February 2014 [5].

She took a short break from DeviantArt around July [6]. It was this year when her creepypasta blew up out of proportion. Previously, she had expressed her desire for Toby to only be shipped with another creepypasta character called Clockwork. However, many people didn't like Clockwork and didn't respect this wish, leading her to further getting tired of the creepypasta community. By october of the same year, her Deviantart bio said: "Most people know me as the creator of the creepypasta story "Ticci-Toby"-- which yes I am, but I prefer not to be constantly called out for it nor only recognized or appreciated for it. I do not contribute to the creepypasta fandom anymore so please don't ask me about it. Thank you" [7].

One issue that is frequently overlooked when discussing Wade's actions is her problem with impersonators, as she stated on a status in November [8].

On 14th of December 2014 he made a post trying to solve all the turmoil that had formed because of shipping [9]. He stated that he had asked people not to ship Toby with anyone but Clockwork because that was what he was comfortable with, but he realized that decision was pointless and didn't care at this point. The situation had gone out of control and there were people bashing creators who shipped Toby with others or with their own characters. He apologized to the hurt and asked people to stop the white knighting. In addition, he recognized "I wasn't prepared for my character to become popular on the internet. I really wasn't. I never thought it would happen and I'm still not good at dealing with it. In fact I suck at it, it's true". He was 15 at the moment.

In 2015, they got into Marvel, even having a tumblr blog where she drew Deadpool replying the asks of her followers. At the end of their bio, it could be read: "I will not reply to notes or comments regarding Ticci-Toby or anything Creepypasta related, sorry." [10]. This message was deleted months later, so their profile didn't mention Toby or creepypasta anymore. They kept the folder for her creepypasta drawings in their gallery tagged as "old".

In April 2016, he had to warn the general public that Toby wasn't real and that he was his creator [11]. People had been spreading misinformation, saying that Toby was real or was based on a real person. Wade feared that something like the tragedy of Wisconsin could happen again, it was a serious concern.

In May, Nancy made a post saying that people could still ask her about Toby [12], but later in June that year, she decided to step off the internet with the purpose of trying to improve her life, archiving the majority of her work [13]. Later in 2017, she updated her bio to let people know about her new instagram account where she mostly posts original art. It was at this point when I stopped checking her content completely, as this account, called bonejars at the beginning, was private for a while. She hasn't been very active on DeviantArt apart from the times she announced her podcast.

On the porch: Episode 2, 16 April 2020, started a wave of negativity against them. I didn't watch it at the time and it is now private so I can't say much about it, but they did some clarifications on her instagram stories later. Many users took screenshots of them and they can still be read [14]. In them, Nancy says that they came to terms many years ago with the ships, that they left the fandom because all of the drama made them miserable and that they'd wish Toby to no longer be associated with the creepypasta fandom. Despite this, they don't want people to stop doing what makes them happy, they said they're ok with headcanons and people reinterpreting the character, that they like the fanart as long as people don't profit from it. They said "I know what escapism is like and using fiction to cope with life. I would never wanna take that away from anybody". Later, they had to make further clarifications because people accused them of wanting to take Toby away from the fandom.

On 25 abril 2021, Nancy posted a new redesign of Toby on his Instagram account [15]. This version of him was significantly different from the last one. The character is older, wears different clothes and looks more realistic due to Nancy's art style development. With this design, he looks like a character from a slasher.

Many people weren't pleased with the redesign due to thinking the reason for it was to invalidate the previous one. Consequently, they brought to the surface controversies from the past. Nancy was accused of having supported two controversial figures in the creepypasta community: Laughing Jack's creator Steve Aikins (Snuffbomb) and Sally Williams' creator Shilo (la_mishi_mish).

Steve presumably harassed his ex-girlfriend and talked indecently with several young girls back in 2014 [16]. I haven't found evidence of Wade supporting him and I can't remember exactly what she said. If someone has screenshots of it, I would be grateful.

Shilo used to draw NSFW art of Sally [17]. This character is canonically 8, so she usually aged her up in this kind of content. However, she posted a compilation of sketches depicting Sally and Jeff the Killer having sex in 2015, stating it was ok for them to have intercouse because they were both 13. Shilo was 22 at the time. Several sources indicate that she stopped drawing mature content due to social pressure. Nancy and Shilo follow each other on instagram to this day.

There haven't been more references to Toby on Nancy's part since then.

◇ Ok people, get the pitchforks because now I'm gonna give my opinion!

So, what can we accuse Wade of? Of being an idiot and a hypocrite when he was a teenager, of having bad companies and managing fame poorly. I don't think we can blame them for anything else and feel that a big part of the hate they receive is undeserved.

I think she was a hypocrite because she got angry with an interpretation of Toby that she had at the beginning. What's more, Toby's story uses an interpretation of Slenderman that was invented by the fandom, proxies are not canon. It's like a fanfic of a series inspired by just a couple of photos.

Still following Shilo is yikes. However, we don't really know if they're still close and I'm personally gonna give her the benefit of the doubt. Defending Steve was a bad move, but, as some people have pointed out before, he was a teen when that happened, way younger than Steve and she could have been convinced to think he was innocent. Shilo is older too.

Being that young, she wasn't prepared for facing the bad sides of fame. Ignoring stuff, going radio silent and then saying things in the heat of the moment didn't help her a bit, but it was all that occurred to her at the time. She's tried to explain things in more detail in recent years just to go back to saying as little as possible because at this point, people get angry for whatever she says.

People say they're homophobic. Their instagram account refutes it.

People say he was mean and insulted the fandom. I remember reading a couple of statuses on DA that I thought were insensitive, but that was a long time ago. People grow and he's changed his mind a lot as you can read in his instagram stories. If you say these things referring to the post where he told people Toby wasn't real, I'm sorry, but I think he had all the right to be harsh. People said Slenderman was real, it ended up in a tragedy and now the same things were being said about Toby. Can you imagine how it's to feel you're responsible for someone's death? He was trying to protect people.

People say she went after artists that portrayed Toby in a different way than hers, yet every time she's said something that ended up hurting people, she took responsibility and apologized for it. I don't believe this person could go and directly hurt someone. Remember what I said before about her issues with impersonators and people white knighting? That could be what's happening. Even now she has problems with people pretending they know her, so be careful!

People say they have abandoned the character many times. It's true they've said they didn't want to talk about Toby on four different occasions, but I don't think they did it with that intention. Why did they redesign him then? The design we all know is inevitably tied to the creepypasta community and they want to move on from it, that's why they didn't want to talk about him. Now they made a version of the character that isn't tied to that world, so we have two Tobies, one for them and one for us. I think that's cool!

Many don't like that they can't use the old version to earn money, but I want them to understand that this is a really particular situation. Usually, people making commissions of characters that aren't theirs isn't a problem when the creator is getting money on their own (unless you're Disney, Disney has no chill). This isn't Wade's case, she has never been monetary compensated for creating or drawing Toby and she has the right of choosing not to allow the commercial use of her characters. "Give for free what you were given for free" is a rule that makes sense in this case.

I don't expect anyone to stop disliking Wade, you're free to feel whatever you want, but at least I hope that this post helps people to see that all of this is more dimensional than just "kastoway is evil". At the end of the day, she's just a dude that fucked up many times and I think her experiences can help us to not commit the same errors.

I FINISHED A SKETCHBOOK! Every page is drawn upon. It only took me... eight years. Wow. I only started working on it in earnest about six months ago, though, so... yeah. 

TO CELEBRATE: I want to take one of these sketches and develop it into a full rendered digital painting. I will make a fun little quiz and we'll narrow it down to one drawing. Quiz and logistics coming later, but will be posted here.

A lot of this is me figuring out designs for characters I haven't even written about yet, so look out for that. I'll elaborate one every sketch if you're interested, so keep reading if you want to know who's who. The sketches are generally in reverse chronological order from top to bottom.

1. Alice, a new character in Star and Marcie and the Forces of Evil, my latest project. She's fighting. She's a fighter. She's a love interest, but I hope I make her interesting on her own.

2. Cinder, wearing a shirt Kowari and Kultarr got for her. He will never take it off.

3. Various faces for Iako, a character in my next project that I'm 90% sure on the design for. She lives in a world of kitsunes who accidentally got addicted to gaining their nine tails through murder. Also magic powers are cursed. Iako wants to make magic better, so she goes on a trip to a mysterious island that holds the key to ending the curses... and their lives. Also it's based on the original premise of Lightlark. Hehe. 4. tell me about your most vivid memory, good or bad.

a couple years ago, me and my best friend decided to clean out her fridge. we were belting out disney classics and dancing around and being goofy 13 year olds. yknow, as you do. and i reached into her fruit drawer (looks like a warzone. you cannot see the bottom.) and my hand went completely through a 4 month old tomato. instantly screamed and gagged. morbidly curious, friend pushes me aside and shoves her hand into the drawer as well. also feels the tomato. also screams. to this day every time i hear the mulan soundtrack i can feel that awful awful awful feeling. god. it was so rotten too once we saw it. it's so incredibly vivid too i relive it every day /j

18. what is something you cant bring yourself to get rid of?

my old sketchbooks from middle school. theyre dumb and bad and a lot of them have water damage but i cant ever throw them away!!!! they document my angst and supernatural obsession in such great detail!!! where would i be without sierra (oc that i liked to behead in every drawing. she wasnt headless i just liked torturing her i guess. sorry girl ill redesign you someday)

lalalala 4 month old reference piece thingy of one of my ppg ocs, Lucifera ! for some funny reason i've become deeply invested in her and my other oc's design/bio so theyre um 3 years in development at this point but if you've seen the older images of her well now theyre outdated as she's had a slight redesign :9 still changing things up but read more for a shortened bio !

Lucifera was born with naturally green skin to a party animal lady turned god fearing woman (she thought she was being "punished" for her ways) she attended a religious school for a while but that didn't go so well and the school eventually just kicked her out due to being a "distraction" (families + staff complaints, other children's teasings of her being disruptive) she got shit for merely existing and had teachings shoved down her throat and became more sympathetic towards the rising evil in Townsville in her teens from everything and would occasionally fantasize about becoming a Gangreen Gang member or at the very least some sort of villain...after getting expelled for getting into a violent fight at school her mother was about to send her off to a boarding school but Lucifera decided to change her looks (finally got out the gothy clothes she bought long before but feared wearing around her mom) then ran away that night and lived on her own for a bit. eventually she'd run into the Gangreen Gang after witnessing them rob a gas station which initially got her in trouble with them until she helped hide them from the Powerpuff Girls. They all then stuck together but ofc got confronted by the puffs every now and then. first of all - who is she? is that cat or something else? she is a fox-wolf hybrid, if i can say so. because of that, she had very poor health as a child, wounds healed for a long time. due to being a half-breed, she has a rather small snout compared to her parents. and parents hates her. why? she was half-breed. in their tribes (foxes and wolves) half-breeds like her were treated rather badly, and it doesn't matter if they were in good health or not, in the wolf tribe they were either killed without mercy or eaten. as you already understood, Sophie's father suggested that her mother eat their daughter, to which she replied: "let her stay, you never know, suddenly she can resist someone." but her father if he not eat his child, then he will torture her. because of THIS Sophie's left arm, as u can understand, because of father.

and tbh, sorry, Chuwush, im not copy backstory of your one character, just to know, Sophie was created in 2015≈, and then her redesign was in 2020. so pls, sorry if it looks so familiar.

Sophie doesn't know much about the world around her. mother did not let her daughter out, feed her only bones from the meat, did not give her due attention, and beat (or hit) her for every sound she made. the one thing that her mother made for her daughter - she taught her daughter to write and read. but we have "BUT", her mother MADE her write with her right hand, as writing with her left hand was "against nature" as she says.

and here it is! Sophie is ambidexter cuz of her mother and she was just comfortable writing with her left hand!

unfortunately or not, but the "wolves" violated the treaty by killing one fox, which was strictly prohibited by the treaty. because of this, the war began. many who died. what am i talking about, everyone died. no one was left alive. children, women - all were killed. even Sophie's mother and father. do you think that Sophie was happy about the death of both parents? no. she sincerely mourned for them, blamed herself for that war. but there was no time to simply mourn them, the smell of corpses urged her to run away from here while she still could.

aaand, after all of that, Sophie started survived only and only by herself. and she even learned to hunt small birds, mice, etc.! she soon forgot her parents, not even remembering their appearance. a few months later, Sophie soon find out she had already gone far. she was able to get there. able to get to the Smog City! u think she already meet Spark? not this time. at first she did not appear in public, knowing that formie would hate her and want to kill her or something worse. so she tried to steal things from them without being noticed. food, cloth, shoes, etc.

abt 4 month later, formies noticed that massive robberies had begun, but she (Sophie) only robbed food stalls, shoe stores, and so on. news channels talked about it.

one day, Sophie again tried to steal food from a nearby store, trying to be extremely careful. "come out and we'll show you our friendliness!" she suddenly heard. the voice was hoarse and rather loud. it was Mark. "b-but dont worry! we wont hurt you!" she heard later. that was Austin (u dont know him). they are "hunted" for Sophie, like u remember, the news. Sophie was scared, very scared, she didnt know what to do. she started to run away from them, Mark noticed her and ran after her. maybe Mark noticed that this time or Sophie was agile, but she was able to somehow hide somewhere in the wilderness of the area, in the trash can. "where the HECK are that creature?!" exclaimed Mark, losing sight of the fox. "Mark? what are you doing there?" suddenly heard blue formie. he heard Spark of himself, stood next to Mark. "huh? i just umm.. ahem... did you saw small creature with ears and tail?" having calmed down, Mark asked Spark. maybe suddenly he saw where Sophie had fled. "mmm, not really. i just walked around the city at night, not seeing any creatures with ears and tails." Spark answered confidently. Mark thought about it and decided to look for Sophie elsewhere, leaving the jester alone. "okay sir, sorry for disturbing, good night." said Mark, and leave Spark alone. Spark looked around and walked over to the trash can. "c'mon lil' one, you can get out of that trash." after these words, Sophie still showed up in front of Spark, but was in no hurry to leave that trash can. "poor thing... hey, do you want to eat something? i can buy you... a burger! you want some?". Sophie nodded. later, Sophie sat on a bench and waited for Spark to come, he told her to wait here. "here it comes! here." when she heard the jester, Sophie saw him handing her a burger, she sees a burger for the first time, she eats it carefully. "th-thank you... mr..." Sophie hesitated, remembering the jester's name. "Spark. you can call me Spark." answered Spark. "thank you.. mr Spark.."

The development of Chapter 4 for The Heliotrope Chronicles Book 1 and planning out Son of a Hustler's Chapter 2 has kept our hands full, but we have time to share sneak peeks of what perils await Frederick and Sidiyq Qadim as the sun finally sets. Hiking into dangerous territory is heart-thumping, but exciting. How can one overcome fear if they don't confront what scares them more? ^_^

, I am relieved to reintroduce and redesign a couple of Halloween-themed characters from a long-term project I had to scrap, Amanda and Jackie. Amanda was concepted as a punk Dorothy Gale living in an alternate dimension that can only be visited by outsiders in October, a time of year that bridges the human and spirit worlds. She's a loner that occupies her time with reading and experimenting with recipes to concoct candy to provide visitors that visit her family's manor house. Jackie is her wise-cracking sentient jack o' lantern that keeps her company. Although his attitude gets on Amanda's nerve, they ultimately look out for another and she considers him the only family she has.

To keep her lore consistent with the Heliotrope Journey series, Amanda is now a condemned witch that was transformed into a demon in the afterlife when her punishers noticed that the torture they put her through had no effect on her other than strengthening her magic. She is able to return to her old self for one month a year. It was a luxury she enjoyed in the first year she was allowed back in the land of the living, but over time, she did not recognize the world she used to live in, leaving her feeling lonely. To deal with that empty feeling, she infused a pumpkin with a damned soul to create Jackie. It was not enough for her because she wanted more people to talk to and creatures to befriend. She crafted a village* and forged bodies from The Inferno's flora to give the damned a chance to be absolved of their sins.

Amanda then enchanted the village to materialize with her in the land of the living for the same length of time she is allowed there. Amanda took up a new hobby; she would travel to a nearby town to pick up ingredients to make candy using a recipe book that was in her family for twelve generations. One day, an oblivious group of six children came to Amanda's doorstep and yelled, "Trick-or-treat!!!" Delighted to have humans to talk to for the first time in centuries, Amanda smiled and handed them one piece of cherry-flavored hard candy each. She asked them, "Would you like to see a trick anyway? I'll give you more treats." The children excitedly nodded and Amanda hover her hand above the ground. She waved it slightly and small trees bearing creamy-colored apples materialized beneath her hand. The kids grabbed an apple and took a huge bite. They tasted like caramel mixed with honey.

Wanting the kids to hold onto the same kind of happiness she felt upon seeing their faces, she told them to take as many as they like for she could always conjure up more trees for the next group that visits her. Amanda was fortunate that the children lived in a Conifers Kingdom village and even more so her village grew to be a popular attraction for adventurers waiting to taste her sweets and pick up powerful nature-based weapons to aid them against Dracula's forces. A vampire hunter wielding a sword forged from The Inferno is bound to put even a threatening Veiled Nocturne occultist in their place. Though Amanda will always be sad to return to her true demonic form every November 2nd, the friendships she made and the inhabitants she created helped her achieve happiness. Welcome to the fourth update! So I might have more information this time around…

>worldbuilding

-I’ve expanded upon the culture of the military itself. Like many soldier societies, family honour, personal valour, and even familial loyalty – even if they’re just your friends – are of utmost importance….

-The architecture, schooling system, government, culture, religion, and technology of the primary country-nation has been finalized. It’s sort of a hotchpotch of every era I like, I guess.

-I’ve done a little bit more expansion upon the other countries of the world itself. So far, three [thinking maybe four?] countries are at war with each other, and there’s a cold war with two big players waiting for the other shoe to drop. The neutral countries are profiting off selling arms. So yeah, basically war and chaos, w00t. I’ve got to write a basic world history explaining the past 2000-3000 years or so, and write a history of the primary country-nation so that I can smooth things out along the way, maybe introduce some plots from the nation’s past to the present-day.

-I’ve let off the petrol on the focus of the ‘super secret worldbuilding’/‘dark underbelly’ to instead work on the actual world itself, but over the month I’d expanded upon secret #1, #2, and have practically overhauled #3 – #3 was much too convoluted for my taste and for the ‘reality’ of the fantasy world, so I cut out a lot of stuff and inserted different ideas that fit much better. #1 is fleshed out less than #2 and #3, so I’ll focus on that more than its siblings over the next month or so. I’ve got to rationalize #4 into existence – it’s little more than a cloud right now, but if I write it correctly, it should add some problems for the characters to overcome.

I’ve rewritten her family dynamics to add more interest to the backstory, and it also fits in with the worldbuilding.

Because of her age adjustment, I’ve had to tweak her personality slightly and extend her backstory.

I need to adjust and/or rewrite relationships. I’ve sort of been neglecting that part for all of the characters, though…

-Mayhem’s introduction isn’t quite satisfactory yet. And since it coincides right with the beginning of the story, I need to have a strong introduction/beginning so that people will keep reading. I need to create interest somehow…

-So far, the introductions for the other characters are sound. Nothing has come up that has made them untenable yet. Flavius may be introduced a little after Hestia is, but I’m not sure. For now, Pepper still comes after Hestia in the introduction hierarchy.

-There’s a side plot for each character, though I don’t know if they’ll change later. I also want to have character arcs for all of them – it’d be so much work, but I think it’d be so fun!

-Early on in production [see my discord for that, unless I’ve deleted the messages already in my constant renovating…] I said that I wouldn’t write a romance at all. In fact, throughout the entire story I never planned on writing a romance. But now, after reading all the stuff about people not writing romances correctly over the years, I might actually write one just to see if I can do it. And since I’m the one who’d be writing it, I get to choose what type of romance! I’m a sucker for slow-burns and a lot of UST, will-they-won’t-they sort of stuff, so I might just do that!

But who to choose as my willing guinea pigs… I’ve got to think about that… hmmm….

-Still in a writer’s block… I’ve been using a plot generator to get my ideas flowing again, but it’s not working. Maybe I should just wait until I’m done with pre-alpha, maybe my idea juices will come back when they’re not being funneled towards every single useless thing on this vast Planet Earth… agh.

-Been practicing in that 80’s anime style. So far, I really like how it looks!

-Been practicing with paint. Wondering if acrylic or watercolour is better… but I do know I’ll be inking it. I tried inking over a practice piece [I’ll scan it and post it later, hopefully] and it looked pretty cool. So I just have to get more confidence and hand stability [and experience of course] so my inking won’t look too bad.

-Wondering if I should use a different type of paper for the paint…

I’m thinking of discontinuing the percentages and stuff. It’s much too prone to changing for me to keep up with it all the time. I’m starting to realize that a few of my ocs are very similar to some of the characters in ddlc and. and i don’t know how to feel

I’ve seen a few posts recently on people not liking Percabeth attending college in New Rome. I thought I was alone and had been sitting on this draft post since I made my account. Here’s why I believe this is a bad storyline and maybe even a bit of a harmful message to the target audience.

1. Percy is portrayed as being very family-oriented throughout the series. I don't buy that Sally and Paul have Estelle and Percy just jets off to the west coast for college. I know he has lots of magical means of transportation at his disposal, but I would think he would want to be around a lot more for Estelle.

2. Annabeth’s fatal flaw works against college in New Rome. I think Annabeth would want to go to the best architecture program in the world out of pride for getting in and the achievement of graduating from such a prestigious program. Could that be in New Rome? I guess. But, the rest of the mortal world doesn’t even know that New Rome exists, so they would not see it as such. To me, Annabeth attending college in the mortal world makes a lot more sense for this reason.

3. I think a large part of what makes Percy and Annabeth interesting is their connection to both the mortal and immortal worlds. Both could have been year-round campers, yet they chose to spend most of the year in the human world. They seem to have a deep tie to the mortal world that spending forever in New Rome largely abandons. In canon, New Rome is written as the only place they could truly be safe, but I could write a whole post in itself about why that doesn’t seem to be true.

I also think that Annabeth attending college in New Rome and then intending to stay there makes it hard to imagine she practices architecture in the mortal world. I don't think that being the most famous architect in the godly world is enough for her. I think she would want her work to be widely known in the human world as well. I prefer to imagine a world where Annabeth, after having already redesigned Olympus, is like, well that was fun. Next up, let’s get into the best architecture program globally and work my way up from the bottom with actual competition. Then she eventually opens up her own equitably run firm with paid family leave and profit-sharing like the boss she is.

4. Now, why I think it is a harmful message. I think Percabeth going to college together in New Rome is reflective of an unhealthy co-dependence. Percabeth ends HOO with immense trauma and a deep fear of being separated. And I think this makes sense after everything they have experienced. However, I think in their cameos in follow-up books they could have been portrayed as working through their trauma, growing as separate individuals, all while maintaining their relationship. College in New Rome feels to me like a band-aid solution to their issues.

Percy is most affected by this, given his lack of development as an individual in HOO. At the end of the series, he doesn’t have interests and dreams beyond being with Annabeth. I think it would have been interesting if Rick gave Percy a bit of an existential crisis. What are Percy’s hobbies now that he is in retirement? What does he want to study in college? Is college even for him? Instead, Percy follows Annabeth to college in New Rome and doesn’t have any plan beyond that. Maybe Percy could have been held back a year because of his six-month absence from school. Then, Annabeth would graduate a year before him, and they would be faced with how to move forward. Maybe Percy takes a gap year on his own to explore what he wants in life.

Basically, I believe that there were a lot of opportunities to write a healthier Percabeth in the backdrop of the other series. Rick could have portrayed a relationship where Percabeth works through their trauma and carve out a level of independence and individuality because those are elements that every healthy romantic relationship has. And Rick should be portraying this to his young audience rather than unhealthy co-dependence.

Brief Backstory:

-Gained cutie mark around the same time as her peers on a camping trip in the Bridlewood Forest. The camp set up in a clearing with an excellent view of the sky, and the teacher pointed out the various constellations and their significance to the unicorn culture.

-However, the teacher running the trip could not answer Nova's questions about what stars were/how they formed (gave very "well, they're uh, bright lights in the sky like the sun" answers). This prompted Nova to develop her own hypotheses about what the lights were made of (one of which was candles), which prompted her cutie mark.

-After gaining her cutie mark and returning to school, she went to the library to find out as much as she could about stars. She eventually found an OLD book talking about how stars were balls of gas, but that was the extent of it.

-She became very reclusive and frustrated because of how little information there was on stars, as the unicorn society didn't have any information on them, but her cutie mark was based on this unexplored area of science.

-She did the best with the little resources she had, but after the return of magic and finding out that Maretime Bay had more information on stars she jumped ship and moved there.

-She does miss the quiet nature of Bridlewood, though. She visits her parents every month and will eventually be one of the pioneers of shared knowledge between the different cities.

-This move was also scary for her because, well, she originally believed the propaganda about Earth Ponies being savage and dumb, but finding out they had a more advanced astronomy program was the complete opposite to what she had learned.

-She is not experiencing full paralysis but cannot walk or stand on her back legs for more than a few moments. I imagine she has nerve and/or muscular issues

K Project Headcannons (again)

Green Clan / JUNGLE

Every year in June, the app is redesigned with Pride Colours for pride month. Everyone in U-Rank and below assume Yukari made it a thing but it was actually Iwafune. (Probably tried to be supportive with this for them all lmao)

Douhan often joins J-Rank for small parties or events, she tries to deny the invitation every time claiming its informal because of her U-Rank position but she ends up going anyway for Sukana's sake.

When Douhan was arrested by Sceptre 4, Sukana made it his mission to find Fushimi (the one who had arrested her) and defeat him in battle for her. Which was another reason why he was so pissed when Fushimi ended up joining J-Rank.

Yukari sometimes tries out make up looks on Nagare, he doesn't really mind but is a bit tired of it. Yet he never says this directly out loud.

Every year after Nagare and Iwa's deaths, Yukari and Sukana go back to their site of death and lay green or lavender flowers there.

Red Clan / HOMRA

There's a small cage hidden in Homra's Bar where Fujishima hides small animals. Kusanagi had no idea about this and one day while cleaning his glasses, he just heard this little sqeak of a mouse. He went ballistic on Fujishima the next time he came in the bar and so Eric had to join him in hiding for the next few weeks.

Yata definitely has accidentally walked in on Kusanagi and Awashima, after that he'll refuse to look Kusanagi in the eyes for the next weem claiming that 'how dare he mess around with a blue'

One time, too piss Yata off, Eric and Chitose wrote a fake love letter from "Yata" to Fushimi. Even Fushimi didn't realize it wasn't his ex-partner writing to him until he brought it up after S2. It kinda went like: "Hey, remember when you wrote me that love letter?" "THE WHAT?"

Anna gets her haircuts done by Yata and Totsuka. Yata learned how to do it from when he was more around his little sister and Totsuka just wants to do it as a side hobby.

Once, Chitose dragged Dewa to get girls (or more like to help him) but there was this one woman to showed geniune interest in Dewa only and offered to buy him drinks and everything. After that, Chitose immediately left with Dewa and they never went back.
