havent decided how i want the introduction to go yet but i imagine it would roughly be one of these two

#null havoc damage #cult of the lamb #i just havent decided what baal and ayms relation to narinder is. i like both main ideas for them #like its very fun and sweet to imagine that he sees them as his sons. but it makes more sense to me that he was more distant #i just dont see narinder as a father. i think he would take care of them but i dont think he would be affectionate at all #like genuinely. 'guardian' is the best term you could give him. they are his apprentices #he taught them magic and combat and they probably guided souls in his stead. but they arent family. to me #i think its possible in this au that once they all got free THEN they started bonding more #like baal and aym would have spent a long time with their mother but given their immortality from having some of the crowns powers #they would eventually return out of a sense of duty that they were raised with. which would lead to more genuine interaction #i think narinder could have a habit of taking in strays but i dont think he would be their dad. just someone to feed and protect them #until theyre old enough to leave. yknow #but i LIKE the idea of him being nice. because i am a sap. i think its sweet when people draw them getting along

we need to stop making fun of poor american southerners who distrust the government. it's real easy to call them all conspiracy theorists and dismiss them, but half the time, its built off of a genuine feeling of being abandoned by the infrastructure meant to keep them safe.

in appalachia, a lot of people lost their homes because of coal mining operations. a lot of people worked in those mines, and then when the mines stopped being profitable, they got tossed out with the bathwater. a lot of appalachia is poor, malnourished, and i don't blame them for not trusting rich politicians who dismiss them as stupid and lower class.

if yall actually listened to half the things poor southerners say, you'd realize that a Lot of common leftist complaints are virtually identical to the rural grandma who doesn't hold with electronic money and politicians. it stems from a genuine feeling of abandonment and ostracization by the people who run the country. functionally, someone living paycheck to paycheck in the city in a tiny apartment has infinitely more in common with someone from rural appalachia than a politician. high rent, high taxes, food insecurity, feeling lied to by those in power, a general sense of frustration. it just sounds fancier coming from a city mouth than one with shitty teeth and a southern accent.

tl;dr stop dismissing southern people as stupid. they're absolutely right not to wholeheartedly trust politicians, because they've been fucked over by them time and time again, and honestly, id rather talk to a southern person who openly distrusts their representatives than someone from the city who wholeheartedly believes that Frederick Jamestown OldMoney III genuinely cares what people think and can be convinced to change his ways.

I'd argue that the Kaminoans actually did care about the clones insofar as they were determined to make a functioning and high quality """product""" that wouldn't implode upon being released into society. Meaning the clones were taught the basics of how to interact with other sentient beings in the galaxy. You know. Social skills. The basics of decorum and conflict resolution, and such things as "there's people that are different from you". Those silly things.

an Iterator is made up of the shell/environment/the structure and multiple creatures (therefore also of multiple spirits) of varying sentience and consciousness that group together by focusing in on a singular point (traditionally the puppet) to Kind Of pretend but also to genuinely become an individual. aka the funny guys we recognize as Moon, Pebbles, Euros, whichever other Iterator

the creatures individually Can have certain personalities n sapience to them, like Inspectors. some Inspectors in Euros are very cuddly with Sparrows, some just yoink her by the back of the hoodie to ferry her wherever it wants to and some just leave her alone. some creatures, again, like for example neurons, don't have any personalities and are like dubiously alive electric radioactive boxes carrying information. the little spiders in Memory Conflux are like actual spiders

none of them are Quite sapient/sentient enough to qualify for a person, but they are still pieces of one. it's like a jigsaw

the "we" kush happens when they all come a Lil bit loose to the point where logical higher thinking takes a backseat and most of all responses are based around instincts and emotions, that the half formed individual presence of the Iterator can recognize as coming from a certain part of themself. for Iterators that have troubles with emotion-capability like Suns, they become basically completely unresponsive

the Iterators were made like this because with being made out of multiple spirits they are incapable of truly dying and reincarnating (boom, sucky immortality). if one piece (or 375 000 pieces and more) die, the rest is still here and carrying the conjunct individuality

the ideal state of a Hivemind is set as this presence as an Individual, so each time it can, it tries to assert itself as this person they make together. a single neuron is enough to carry this whole idea of individuality and it's torture cuz it desires to Expand and Reach Out to form this person that it has coded into its genome, but it just cannot. it's like mentally choking on something, stuck in a circle of it constantly happening

which is why Moon is still kicking as herself despite losing most of herself and needing to be reset and what that "reformatting" neurons thing she does essentially is. she wipes the neuron's goal to be a Five Pebbles Component and inserts her own "I am Me" indviduality in to expand a little

the Individualities then can have different relationships with their idenity as a Hivemind, from being super attached to all of their components (almost Euros when healthy), to being kinda "eh, whatever, a single neuron means nothin to me" (pre-collapse Moon), "whatever i can always regrow all of these things. it is only tools." (Boreas), to absolutely ignoring it (victims of the cabin fever like Nish n Euros later on)

some Iterators somehow manage to disregard their supposedly encoded goal of being an Individual in favor of being in the "we" mode almost all the time. one of those was actually Spore here <3

some accept being a Hivemind (combined with a lot of machinary) without.. like giving much of a shit about it at all n therefore still refering to themselves with "I" instead of "we". that's the case for Notos

Growing up, Elrond and Elros used to watch Maedhros grieve. They used to whisper to each other, for they were told that Elves who suffer and Feel too much may fade from their grief. Yet Maedhros has so much, he wraps himself up in his loss and his despair and guilt looms over him and makes his shadow even longer than his height. The twins whisper and murmur, coming up with wilder and wilder reasons for how an Elf so full of grief can go on.

Its Ages later when Elrond has the answer. Sometimes, when it seems you have lost everything, everyone, the only thing left to do is to continue on for them.

interested to see how much people still know how to repair and care for their things because it seems like these skills have almost completely fallen out of public knowledge

edit: The option for sew and repair leather is actually sewing (fabric) and repairing (leather) and includes mending your clothes

If you just continue to wear things after they are damaged until they fall apart please just select the last answer as I didn't think of that option at the time

I hate that whenever there's a gay ship, people immediately het-ify it. people are so obsessed with making one the "man" and one the "woman" when that's completely unnecessary, because they are both the man or the woman. It's extremely annoying. these people will completely mischaracterize a character to fit into their stupid little het roles they force on them.

for example, you don't need to make one man the "wife" and feminized him to the extreme and fit him in a traditional "woman" role so the other man can be the big strong masculine manly man. they can both be masculine or both be feminine or both be both at the same time! they do NOT need to be gendered opposites to fit het roles. crazy, I know! it's like no one considers it a possibility! or sees how good it can be to have them be equals without gendered nonsense.

when there's a gay relationship, you have the perfect opportunity for the couple to stand on equal ground. they get to be equals who are just as strong and just as soft as each other. there's no faulty power dynamics where one is above the other (because let's face it, society unfortunately deems masculinity > femininity). one doesn't need to protect the other. they can protect themsleves, fight aide by side as equals. one doesn't do all the housework. they share that duty equally. one isn't weak and pretty, while they other strong and manly. they both are strong and pretty, or masculine and weak at the same time.

equal relationships are amazing and need to be explored more and appreciated. there can be more understanding and working together. i'm bad at explaining what I mean, but I prefer these equal relationships over forcing them into opposite roles to mirror het relationships, which are usually extremely unbalanced and unequal. especially because these not het relationships! so why must they look like one? they can and should look different! so why does literally every shipper and writer out there make them so het coded?

I don't understand why people do this. do they actually believe all romantic relationships must mimic het ones to exist and thrive and purposely force that on them? or have they genuinely just not fathamed that they can be different and dont need to follow the expected het standards?

I wonder, it feels like no one actually knows how non-het relationships are meant to be and how they could work, since het ones are always forced down our throats since birth. it becomes The Standard that everyone thinks they must follow. maybe it's all people know since they don't see any other possibilities. their preferred dynamics for their ships are what we are taught and nothing different, because they don't know it can be different. i also think people might be obsessed with that whole "opposites attract" trope. but that opposite doesn't have to be the traditional het-fueld feminine vs masculine or wife vs husband characteristics. it can be other personality things like one is loud and one is quiet, one is dumb and one is overly smart, one is rich and one poor, etc. it doesn't have to be masculine vs feminine!

literally every main character has autistic traits and ptsd let's be real.

#Dean has bpd too which is significant to how he interacts and copes and all #Sam has OCD and an inability to like. make his symptoms not obvious when he is in danger. Everyone... meet Mettah!

(This will be dumped from discord conversations so forgive the pacing but)

her name is Mettah and she's a damselfly who was lurien's. Unsure if I'm going to make hegemol her bio dad or not. Also lurien was ready to cut a bitch at any moment while gravid and he hated it (but doesnt regret having mettah for a second)

even if like lore wise who cares a beetle and a damselfly can have a kid, as much as heg really really wants a child of his 'own' it's not as important to him as lurien's safety, and given their size difference, i feel like he'd . be like hey maybe we should. like. not. have me um. sire you.

Also probably very easy to parent through the larval stages when your child will be confined to the bathtub for a couple years ashffh very glad I made my lurien have essentially his own private hot tub for a bath. Will have to temporarily put baby in a nice bucket though when they have to bathe for real.

thinking about Lurien sitting at his easel with Mettah in his lap and he's got her own set of finger paints in cups in front of her while his brushes and paints are off on his side table, and she's smearing all the colors on his canvas while he adds details and lines and helps fill in the shapes

Lurien is the one who names her because after she hatches he gets very emotional seeing their little larvae swimming around and he's just like. "Mettah."

And Hegemol tilts his head curiously as he drapes a warm towel over lurien's shoulders.

"Their name. Mettah. It's going to be Mettah. I heard it over, over, and over again when I was carrying them. Mettah."

An Hegemol gives a low, surprised rumble, and before he can respond Lurien's cutting in again, "--I--I should have asked you. My apologies. This is something that should be mutual--"

But Hegemol just reaches over with a gloved hand to turn Lurien to face him, get him out of his own hands, and lowers his head to be more eye level, "You owe no apologies. ...Mettah." He turns and looks at the larvae, who is watching them from the pool. "...I think that's a beautiful name. And it seems they like it too, hm?"

AND ALSO i think Lurien does essentially give her a homeschooled 'formal' education in the arts, I think she grows into an extremely skilled painter like he is, and she never resents this, but when she's starting to come more into her own wings she's like. Hey father i love painting the city with you. But i want to make FREAK SHIT ‼️ and goes headfirst into making outsider-esque art and uses all of her knowledge of the art rules to break them, and also starts using her art to promote propaganda for like. bug unions and shit as hallownest rebuilds itself.

And lurien couldn't be more proud of her.

I am too sleepy to draw but I also had an idea that they'd adopt a beetle girl named Bronwyn or Brunhilde, and she's the daughter of Gytha, Hegemol's first squire, who he is very, very close to. Who ends up a single parent essentially and realizes very early on that she can't do this and honestly very much does not wish to, and wants to give her kid a better life. She knows her mentor is a brooding mother hen, so she gives her off to him and instead helps out and visits often. But the child is raised by heg and lurien essentially.
