hate how many artists make kid characters look like dolls instead of little humans. That guy needs 70% more boogers in it
#so fucking real btw#i love kids to death and teach them every day#but yeah. theyre kinda crusty sometimes#some are super good about keeping their face clean (4yrs+ is generally where that begins)#but i promise you. every 2 and 3 year old has food and dirt and snot on their face somewhere#if theyve been active they probably have mulch/dirt/sand in their hair#the knees and hems of the pants? filthy#if they dont have good balance yet (2-3 years old) the ass of their pants is guaranteed dirty too#any sort of runny nose? snot down the face#which is especially visible if the kid has dark skin or has just eaten something powdery#if theyve been taught to cough into their elbow. their shirt sleeve Definitely has dried phlegm on the inner elbow#cuffs of sleeves too are notorious#time of day and number of clothes changes/baths is also an important factor#early morning? clothes probably clean#late afternoon? dirt/mud/food/snot caked onto the clothes and face#hands are usually pretty clean though if theyre in school or wash them often

Maybe this is the wrong platform to pose this question given the average tumblr user but
Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?
Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.
#im a young adult. i cant legally drink-- im a preschool teacher#the only places i can hang out with friends without spending money are hiking trails#i havent gone to college yet because i have money#ill be working for another year before i have enough saved-- and i'm incredibly lucky#i live in a place with good financial aid for community colleges and i live with my parents so i can actually afford to save money#and like. i was lucky!! i grew up with a mile or two of wandering range into the woods and down my cul de sac in rural tennessee#but the closest park belonged to the elementary school and was fenced off so i couldnt access#and i wouldve had to walk three or four miles down an interstate to get there. other than that it was only fields#and i had neighbors who called cps on me for. 'playing hooky' from school (i was homeschooled)#i have a car so im free to drive wherever i want. but where is there to go?#the only places i can think of are walking trails and the library#but before i had a car it was much worse#to get to my nearest friend's house it was about five miles? maybe a bit less#its just depressing#my wildest stories in high school are. walking a different way home than i normally did?#staying out until a shocking 10pm?#and even then one of the friends i was out with got grounded for weeks for that#no-- i remember my 'wildest' high school experience#it was going out to a pancake place and then to goodwill after a show of a play we were in#eating in a restaurant without any of our parents. we still all had to be carpooled there and back

Polypteridae. This order is made up of reedfish and bichirs, freshwater fish that have lungs, with some species capable of breathing air.
Acipenseriformes. This order is made up of basal fishes with skeletons made mostly of cartilage. It includes sturgeons and paddlefish.
#okay listen. this was unfair to the polypteridae to make me judge acipenseriformes against them#i call my car the sturgeonmobile and have a collection of sturgeon stickers on my bumper#i once honestly began looking into how costly it would be to keep a few sturgeon (VERY)#i was brought up next to the chattanooga aquarium where the sturgeon reintroduction for the tennessee river is based#i petted sturgeon. i saw their beautiful powerful scales and muscles#and their silly fleshy mouths#and i looked up at a white sturgeon larger than i was and stayed to watch for another glimpse for hours#polypteridae are amazing animals and in any other matchup wouldve won#but. i love my beautiful ancient stunning fish
