hey what if i hosted a little collab for bug fables OCs for everyone who wants to draw their characters in bugaria using some of the backdrops i made for the npc collab [these backdrops]. (there are a few areas that i didn't make the art for, so if we wanted to use those areas, i would need to ask if those artists would be cool with that, but ive got most areas covered. i don't think every area art needs to be used, but some of the better ones would be neat and useful, ya know?)
i would establish some requirements for the OC art to make sure that there's some consistency and won't be a loss of quality (eg. make the art at least 1000 pixels tall), but both digital and traditional art would be accepted, and i can help with processing if traditional artists need some help after taking the picture/scan. and i can put all the characters on the backdrops, unless someone else wants to help with that

Emergency commissions (sort of)
So, since a while ago, my pc started having some problems on start up and a few days ago it finally stopped working near entirely. Tech guy who checked it said it was a motherboard issue that simply happened because it's just too old (15+ so years).
So this forces me to try opening commissions earlier instead of waiting until next month as it was usual.
(Thankfully I got a laptop to do these, albeit borrowed.)

not normal about lurien
This friend is one of my best, so he's seen me share all of my art in our D&D server. When he started playing I was like [name], listen. I think hollow knight is one of the best indie games out there. However, you're going to get in, and you're going to ask me 'when does hegemol and lurien show up?' and I'm here to tell you the former isn't even in the game (technically) and the latter is among the characters with the least amount of lore. And you're going to go 'rey these are the characters you chose to latch onto?' and im going to look you in the eye and say yes.
I feel so bad he thought hegemol was present and lurien had more to him in-game and was excited to meet them😭😭BUT he's been enjoying it all so far!
Anyway, I will pass all of this on! I've never seen the language post from you, I'm going to eat that up when I can :)
(I've also been having fun in DS2, though admittedly I think dark souls 3 will forever be my beloved. It's the one I started with, I can play it blindfolded probably, and I can't wait to get our characters to 3 since we're just replaying our ds1 characters but older and brought back from death. same timeline <3)
My friend is currently playing through hollow knight for the first time and just got to monomon. He was trying to decipher the tablets and was like what the hell is this?? So I was like there's this great artist who headcanons its monomon'a shorthand, and told him about your art and showed him, and he loved it and immediately wanted to dive more into your monomon.
But the thing is he's my souls buddy. We are currently doing a joint playthrough of all 3 games + bloodborne and ER, on the last dlc for ds2 now. Ds2 is his favorite game so I got to show him those as well and he was like WOAH THIS IS THE MONOMON PERSON'S? and loved them (he doesn't have a tumblr or else he'd reblog I'm sure)
His favorite bloodborne character is Eileen, and we talk about her a lot. So I told him I had new fanart to show him thats gonna make him cry and he was like oh? From where? And I was like you're never gonna believe it. It's the same person 😂

this is my take on deciphering the archive script (it's a more direct translation compared other people's work)
this is a document i compiled on all the written languages in hallownest. while this one is in korean, it's readable with some effort with a translator (i recommend papago). more importantly, there is a transcript of the archive letters that i've traced from the game files. (i frequently reference them whenever i write the archive letters lol)
i also have a table of recognizable pictograms and some notes on the tablet in lurien's secret room.
i don't have a lot on monomon compared to lurien (i am admittedly not normal about lurien) but i consider this and this to be the epitome of my interpretation of monomon. i headcanon monomon as an idealist and a philantropist. i think she was a kind and eccentric person. and i think that she was thoughtlessly, carelessly cruel to quirrel in that she had no idea just how much influence she had over him. (to quote the first comic, 'how could he dare say no'?)

If you didnt believe Laios was autistic before todays episode i hope it clears that up for you
we were first shown his special interest, a very autistic trait to have. We get to see him indulge in his interest, we get to see him happy.
but this episode contains the scene that makes it clear Laios cannot understand social cues, tone of voice, sarcasm, or subtlety. He actively suffers socially with other humans.
Shuro is pissed Laios didnt pick up on the fact that he hated Laios, because he was being passive aggressive (at best, Shuro bottled up a lot of feelings), and said verbally he was Laios' friend. Laios takes things at face value, if someone says "im your friend" that's what he believes is true.
He hates that Laios "gets to be genuine". I hate the way he says that "gets" as if its a privilege for Laios. It's a privilege for Shuro who is nobility and has his behavior and emotions stifled. Laios doesnt understand that others are NOT genuine. he's not from that world.
that's why Laios asks "why didnt you TELL me?" and Shuro says it should have been obvious.
it was NOT obvious to Laios, not at all.
And also, that was who Laios thought was his FIRST friend on the island. he thought he made a friend, something actively difficult for him to do.
it devastated him to learn that he was wrong the entire time.

managing bills
making money
remembering my basic needs
sleeping regularly
outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.

The most cringefail bard this side of Hardbuckler!!!! Known for her achievements such as:
- raised by gnomes
- skipping her college classes (don't tell mom)
- unironically idolizes Volo
- Wyll's #1 fangirl
- kissing Exxy from the rivington general at this very moment
Sweetpea is the bard who isn't a bard. Mama wouldn't pay for bards college but she WOULD shill out for stupid wizard college [eyeroll]. Sweetpea is actually an abjuration bard enrolled at Candlekeep, but her real passion lies in the art of performance.
Sweetpea can't actually play the lute. But she did learn how to enchant at school, and used that basic knowledge to enchant a set of rings that allow her to mimic playing, while other spells produce the sound of her lute. One day she'll be the bard of her dreams, but for now... she's the queen of faking it till she makes it. Or until mama finds out.
