馬酔木[Asebi|Ashibi] Pieris japonica

The name means tree that makes horses drunk.

馬酔木の花の美しいのは奈良である。（略）馬酔木の古木は春日社の一の鳥居から博物館あたりへかけての広つぱに見られる。が、この辺のものは大抵孤立した樹叢だ。東大寺から三月堂、手向山神社あたりにかけて見られるものは、木のたけも喬木のやうに高く、それが一面に密集してゐるから、その花叢の美しいことも格別で、とてもそれへは普通の馬酔木を見ての感じを当てはめることが出来ない。ここの馬酔木だけは全く奈良の見ものである。

Koko no ashibi dake wa mattaku nara no mimono dearu.] The place where the flowers of Asebi are beautiful is Nara. (Omitted) Old trees of Asebi can be found in the wide open spaces between the first torii of the Kasuga shrine and the museum. However, they are usually isolated clusters of trees in this area. Those that can be seen around Tōdaiji temple, Sangatsu-dō and Tamukeyama shrine areas are tall like high trees, and are growing densely, therefore, the beauty of the clusters of flowers is so exceptional that it is impossible to apply the impression we get from seeing ordinary Asebi. Only Asebi here is truly a sight to see in Nara. it's honestly so lonely to respect your own boundaries of refusing to be used or walked all over, and respecting your own authenticity and refusing to mask just to appease others.

There's very few people out there who want to be around you whether you're at 0% or 100%, and it hurts so much to meet someone, really like them and vibe with them, only to realize they only want to be around you when youre at 75% minimum.

But you're better off keeping your circles small and close rather than winding up realizing most of your 'friends' would never actually be there for you when you truly need them.
