Self-aware AU in Genshin/Star Rail as opposed to the Player in HI3rd
In my personal interpretation of the players' influence/presence in the three games, it's quite nebulous. In Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail especially, it would be borderline impossible to truly detect the players' existence.
Let me explain. The characters we control as the player are NOT the actual characters themselves. They are more akin to the copies of the characters you control in the Simulated Universe. The player clones are non-sapient copies of the characters they are based on, and the abilities of the playable ones are loosely based on their template character.
The player clones differ crucially from the real version because they only display snippets of their 'personality' at a time. (Voicelines triggered on certain conditions/Idle animations) The clones do not display true sentience, instead saying predetermined dialogue. 'Player clone' refers to practically every character we see in the game. The clones are made to recreate what is actually happening to the Trailblazer in the story. Meaning, every character you see isn't the real person.
The best way I can think to describe it is using a plasma globe. When you put your finger to the glass, the energy arcs on your hand, but it does not actually touch you. Similarly, you playing the games causes the world to react to you, but it cannot truly interact with you. The 'player clones' are shadows made by the arcs of energy reaching for your hand, but being blocked by the glass.
Also, the scene where you choose the Traveler/Trailblazer was you first touching the plasma globe. They are your main point of contact. They are your manifestation inside the plasma globe. That's why you default to them when talking to people, and why the world/story is almost entirely seen from their perspective. However, using pre-existing characters as a point of contact crucially changes the situation from Honkai Impact 3rd. In Honkai Impact 3rd, the player is nebulously represented as the 'Captain of the Hyperion'. However, the Captain doesn't exist in the main story.
The Captain canonically exists only as a representative for the players, meaning that players as the Captain are easier to detect than players as the Traveler or Trailblazer. This is because Captain's status as a pure self-insert (doesn't canonically do anything or express any personality outside of your will) means that the interference from the Player touching the plasma globe as the Captain is more direct and noticeable by beings with enough awareness (Aeons and maybe others).
Well, that's all for now. I'm not dead, btw

Astarion origin playthrough: what to expect/what is added
So I did a speed run on easy mode of the Astarion origin playthrough, which is where you choose Astarion as your main character. I wanted to write a bit about the extra lore the game gives and in general what is added (and what is lost).
I added some of the videos I have taken in case you are curious. Keep in mind that some videos are embedded, others are in link for my twitter or this blog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPOILERS. Just know that I went through the main plot points and the quests I know Astarion has dialogue about in a Tav game, so I did not do all of the quests/areas.
First of all... I don't think there is enough content to justify losing Astarion as a companion, as Astarion will be not voiced when you play as him, and in general you actually get less characterization.
ACT 1
Act 1 is the one with the most amount of extra content.
There are a few extra lines from the narrator about you standing in the sun for the first time, and your past.
You get a whole personal quest about hiding your vampirism or revealing it. There are different ways to reveal it:
You simply tell the companions (when you think about it the narrator will ponder about how much your companion trusts you and if they will react well)
You can use "bite" on an enemy when your companions are around (or on a companion)
You can be caught while you bite someone at night
The night bite happens after a nightmare, so you will also get a Cazador nightmare where Astarion hides/attacks/cowers before Cazador (video here). After the nightmare Astarion will think about finally being free and breaking one of Cazador's rules. You can decide to bite a companion or not.
If you do not bite a companion you will have no other option to do the bite at night, and the only reveals can happen in the other two modalities. Honestly, I am not sure how long you can drag it... pretty long, I think. One time I need to find out if you can go almost the whole game without revealing it.
If you tell a companion about it you will have to pass a check, but nothing bad happens if you fail, you just get a bad reaction (Gale yelled at me).
Other extra content from act 1 is about meeting the monster hunter. If you meet him pre-reveal, he will not say your name, btw. But it is pretty much the same as in Tav playthrough.
ACT 2
In act 2 you will have another nightmare (video here). This time you do not see what happens, you just see Astarion curling in his bed and thinking about his scars. This is to introduce the scars, as we have no idea he has them, and it will happen before you meet Raphael.
You can ask Raphael about the scars, but sadly none of your companions react.
Then the rest proceeds as usual. The sad part for me was meeting the drow lady who asks for a bit in exchange of a potion, and she is so different. She suddenly is very deferential, and asks quite nicely. Astarion can refuse or agree, but nothing happens, it is just almost a funny scene if he agrees and suddenly she tastes very bad. So yeah, you get the potion and no insight.
ACT 3
Act 3 is the one which has the same content but slightly different, as you will meet the spawns and Cazador from Astarion's pov.
When you meet the Gur outside BG3 the scene is exactly the same as in Tav play, minus Astarion's funny lines. When you meet Petras and Dalyria at the tavern, you get an extended scene.
You can just talk with them and convince your sister to tell you about the ritual, or you can show them that you can walk into the sun (by walking up to the window), or you can grab Petras and threaten him into the sun. If you fail to grab him, he will insult you and call you the runt of the litter. The whole scene clarified a bit that there is really a lot of animosity from Petras towards Astarion, and that Astarion was definitely the scapegoat of Cazador.
When Leon attacks you at night you also get more insight. First, you can see that if you try to explain, Leon is quite quick to hear you out, differently from Tav's playthrough. You will also find out that Cazador ordered them to take you home broken, so if you agree to go with them they will still attack you.
Another extra scene comes from the brothel one. I posted a video on my blog a couple of days ago, but basically you can talk with the drow twins and this line will pop up:
youtube
You can basically tell them that you used to be in their position too, but for you it was not consensual.
The rest of the game is the same.
The Cazador palace scenes are also the same, with Astarion commenting on the rooms. You will have extra from meeting Godey, of course. He will comment about Astarion needing to be broken and needed to respect the master. Video here.
When Astarion meets Sebastian you find out that he doesn't really immediately remember Sebastian's name. Astarion also has a "deception" check to tell Sebastian he really cared about him. You can see the video here. But the rest is pretty similar, same with meeting the children of the Gur, you can actually recognize their hunger and feel compassion for them.
When you meet with Cazador everything is pretty similar. It is interesting that you can tell him that you are an angel of vengeance to which he mocks you. This time you do not attack Cazador but he controls you immediately and you have to pass a constitution check to get free, otherwise Astarion will end up in the ritual (and the companions can free him).
Btw, you can see here all the options you have when you meet Cazador as Astarion.
Once the fight is over, Astarion can decide if he wants to complete the ritual or not. He can ask the companions to help him and I think they always do (borrowing their eyes) even if they disapprove. Interestingly, the narrator directly says "hey, this is a bad choice, no return", basically. You have three chances to stop for performing the ritual (also you can intimidate Cazador to beg for his life).
If you do not stop the ritual, your sister Dalyria will beg you to stop before dying.
Here I posted on twitter video options of the post-Cazador's fight.
As you can see, if you decide to stop the ritual the scene plays exactly the same and it is a rare one which is actually voiced by Neil. Your brothers and sisters will then come up to you, and as Astarion you will have to decide what to do with them. If you ask them not to feed on people, Petras will get a bit annoying and you will have to persuade/intimidate him. Then you decide what to do with the other spawns.
Interestingly, Dalyria gets really disappointed with Astarion if you decide to kill the spawns or trap them.
A very nice thing is that if you refuse to complete the ritual your companion will be SO SO PROUD OF YOU, especially Jaheira, Wyll and Karlach. You can see here Karlach in video, and here Wyll and Gale, and Jaheira here.
The rest plays exactly the same. There is no extra Astarion-specific content until the end.
If you play as lord vampire Astarion there is no specific end that I could find. I am not sure why, but basically in my playthrough I had not found the dragon, so technically I had not finished Wyll's quest. When Karlach was dying I could go to Avernus with her or be with her at her death... but after that nothing happens. My Astarion talked with Gale (romanced) and that was it.
Spawn Astarion ending instead has this extra scene which I found a bit ridiculous. The first part is heartbreaking, you see Astarion run from the sun and curl into a ball behind some shade, head on his knees. Then Karlach dies alone, because Astarion cannot be in the sun, and you get this extra scene of Astarion in Baldur's Gate killing/attacking a man and living his existence as a vampire. It is strange because in the pre-ending dialogue I chose to go to another city, and in the post ending I chose to go with Gale to Waterdeep, so it felt a bit random.

All BMC Hidden Song Motifs
These are all the little tunes I’ve noticed sneakily (or not so sneakily) appearing outside of their own songs in the show!
I did leave out the ones that are obviously the same because they repeat the lyrics (e.g. c-c-c-come on, it’s from Japan, etc), but I can add those too if enough people want.
If you have more, tell me and I'll add them! And if you have thoughts on why any of these appear where they do, pls post about it so I can read more meta sdjlkfsdjflk
More Than Survive:
Smartphone Hour chorus on synth during Jenna, Brooke, Chloe’s conversation [credit: @zabala0z]
Michael in the Bathroom chorus on synth during Jeremy & Michael’s conversation
The Pants Song: chorus melody on guitar when Michael talks about "survival of the fittest" [credit: @aqueous-aerolite - tysm for IDing it!]
(Broadway) MTS reprise
Jeremy’s Theme at the end
Two Player Game
In scene: Michael in the Bathroom chorus on synth during their first exchange (“He’s scamming you super weirdly.”)
The Squip Enters
The Squip Song melody on synth right before the SQUIP appears: Helps you to be cooooool…. It helps… youuuu… [“Welcome to your Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor! Your SQUIP.”] ~~Ruuuuuuuule!~~
(Two Rivers) More Than Survive Reprise
Michael in the Bathroom on synth while the Squip scolds Jeremy for thinking about sex. (Still mostly inexplicable, but it’s technically a reuse of the dialogue music from More Than Survive, of which the only synth options were Smartphone Hour and Michael in the Bathroom.)
Michael’s reggae motif from More Than Survive at “Still not gonna be the cool guy”
(Broadway) Sync Up
The Squip Song: intro guitar riff plays when Rich talks to Jeremy
More Than Survive: MTS background chorus sings (‘na na na na na na na na’) with “ah”s in the musical interlude, then with “na”s at the end.
Guy that I’d Kinda Be Into
I Love Play Rehearsal: “I don’t always relate to other people my age” section is the same as “Most people do one thing for all of their lives” - the following lines match lyrics too.
More Than Survive: Christine’s bassline rhythm from the recurring motif of “Christine Christine Christine” (i.e. dotted quarter, eighth, half), originally from MTS, reappears during GTIKBI in the chorus, as well as the “I don’t always relate…” and “I guess a part of me likes to” sections.
Loser Geek Whatever
Two Player Game: the intro (“I already know what it’s like to be the loser”) is sung to the same melody as the main synth loop you can hear at the beginning of 2PG [credit: someone on the Genius page]
Touching My Hand: Not technically a motif, but I want to point out that the pre-chorus of LGW comes from Touching My Hand, a demo song that never made it into the show.
Michael in the Bathroom
(?) Knocking section could kind of evoke the staccato quarters that happen all throughout Halloween (eg, crank! the! bass!, and dunh dunh dunh it's halloween)
The Pants Song
(Broadway) “Michael in the Bathroom” on guitar when Michael says “Look, I already tried to help him, and called me a loser…” (THIS is hands down my favorite one btw. It’s one of the most obvious but that doesn’t stop it from stabbing me in the heart every time…)
The Play
Be More Chill: bass & guitar riff play when the Squip’s revealing its plan to infect humanity.
Jake enters: Jeremy’s Theme, then Upgrade
Chloe & Brooke enter: Do You Wanna Ride
Michael makes an ennnntraaaaance! (Michael in the Bathroom)
Two Player Game: pre-chorus during Michael and Jeremy’s fight (“kung fu fists, activate!”)  - and of course again the verse during their fight for the Dew.
Jenna enters: Smartphone Hour (the opening brass thumps)
Christine enters: I Love Play Rehearsal on flute - then she sings an altered version of GTIKBI
“Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy” is the same tune as “Christine, Christine, Christine.” (This one makes me go nuts actually. Like, that’s his deepest desire??? He just wants someone to love him as powerfully as he loves Christine????? AUUGH!!!!)
Loser Geek Whatever: verse melody plays on brass when he gives the Dew to Christine
Voices in My Head
Loser Geek Whatever: verse melody on piano during Christine and Jeremy’s conversation.
Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into: When Christine gives her answer about going out with him, they sing to the GTIKBI chorus melody, and a flute plays the GTIKBI bridge melody  (“I guess a part of me likes to”). Then when Christine says yes, it plays that bridge melody on piano.
ALSO: Overall character instruments?
Christine: flute & mallet percussion (i.e. glockenspiel, xylophone)
SQUIP: plucked guitar with tremolo, tubular bells. Edit: also the theremin [credit: @highlighter-goblin!]
(?) Rich: strummed guitar with distortion (Squip Song, Sync Up)
(?) Chloe & Brooke: plucked guitar with a Wah-wah pedal (DYWR/H)
(?) Jenna: low brass on staccato quarter notes
Yeah that's all I know of so far, but like I said please add on if you can think of more!!

Can I request a romantic drabble with Vriska from Homestuck in her FLARP days pre-Sgrub, with a lowblood darling who lost to her but instead of being fed to Spidermom Vriska decides to keep them with her? (there can be threats of the former of course)
It's time for Vriska content, let's go! I didn't see this was meant to be a drabble/short at first. This is a post kidnapping scene, btw. Using a quirk generator, Vriska's speech may be off so I apologize. Sorry the plot was strange :(
Consequences
Yandere! Vriska Serket with Lowblood! Darling Short
Pairing: Matesprit ❤️
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Kidnapping/Post Kidnapping plot, Manipulation, Threats, Stalking, I winged it on the plot as I forgot this was not a concept, Forced kissing, Some delusional behavior, Implied mind control, Forced Matespritship.
Tumblr media
"Look, y8u lost the game. If anything this 8s mercy!" The cerulean blood scoffs in front of you, sitting at her desk.
You sit on the messy floor with a chain around your ankle. In a castle-like hive like hers... you would suspect something like chains would be in here. You're at her mercy, a Lowblood stuck in the hive of a troll who can easily control you.
"Y'know trolls who l8se 8g8inst me are usually food for Spid8rmom.... Hope y8u know you're special." Vriska grins as she watches you obediently sit by the wall you're chained to.
"Just what makes me so special to you? We've met only a few times before!" You seethe softly, watching Vriska chuckle.
"She8sh, you ne8d 8n explanation? I was 8eing merciful!" Vriska pouts, disappointed. "Might've 8een a few times for you... 8ut I can't get you out of my head, alright? May8e 8 just wanted to hang out with you more! Luckily... I've gotten my chance now."
"... we're not even that close of friends-" You plead. "What do you even want from me?"
Vriska appears annoyed by your questions. It's true... you both weren't the closest but still knew each other. You helped her a few times and even chatted amongst her friend group... however you never saw each other often. As a result... you formed no feelings for the cerulean.
But her? She began to feel red for you....
So red to the point she had to hunt you down to satiate her growing desire.
FLARP was merely another way to bring you closer. Her whole intention was to have you lose. She could probably never feed you to her lusus with her feelings like this... but you were certainly pushing her patience.
Vriska sighs... she's never been good when it comes to personal connections.
"Easy. I want to 8ring up a deal with you." Vriska purrs, an air of sadism in her tone. She doesn't easily show her true feelings. As a result... she comes off more intimidating then you think.
"8 want you to stay here with me, a M8sprit if you will. If you don't agree..." Vriska hums, kneeling in front of you. "I have my ways 8f g8tting you to agree."
"Do you have no other option!?" You plead, Vriska grimacing in response before reaching out and touching your cheek.
"8 don't want any other troll... I want you." Vriska sneers. "Is that so difficult to understand?"
"You're delusional..." You whisper, a comment Vriska chooses to ignore. "So what if I say no? You'll feed me to your lusus?"
"I could... 8ut I'd rath8r n8t, love." Vriska hums, leaning closer. "New trolls can come along to feed her. No... I'd much rather j8st m8ke you."
"No...." You whisper softly, fear rising due to the sadistic glare in her eyes.
"Oh, so you understand 8 can just mess with yo8r mind, hm?" Vriska chuckles, watching you try to scramble away. She already had a light grasp on your mind already. "Aren't you just a helpl8ss Low8lood?"
You want to fight back but you just... feel like you aren't in control. Vriska's gaze shows she knows what she's doing as she pulls you in to kiss you. You want to fight it but you're unable to.
"Don't worry, as long as you 8ehave nothing 8ad will come to you." Vriska coos when she pulls away. "Who kn8ws? If you fight me m8y8e I w8ll feed you to Spidermom!"
You shiver when Vriska pulls you closer. Was this how she planned to make you two Matesprits? Threats and mind control!?
"Oh please... stop 8eing so dramatic! You'll 88 f8ne..." Vriska smiles, leaning into your ear.
"As long as you stay here with me... w8'll get along gr8, won't w8?"

Vanitas HAS to be in KH4.
So I watched a couple of Vanitas scenes and now my brainrot is back in FULL force so im gonna be annoying for a bit.
I genuinely think Vanitas is one of the best characters that Nomura can put into KH4 thematically.
This is the game where:
1) Sora will be struggling with his own darkness, especially after his breakdown in KH3. Someone on here had a brilliant theory on how light represents selflessness and darkness selfishness, ill link it below since Tumblr won't let me tag them @andrewwtca
Anyways, Sora as we all now is a very selfless, downright self sacrificial person which what can be theorized is what happens when there is "too much light".
(Need I call back to the the stronger your light the stronger your shadow grows opening from KH1)
No doubt Rage form and Anti-form will be explained or at least the game will lay the groundwork for the explanation in the future, my point is, what better way to add weight to Sora's arc than bringing up Vanitas someone hes met that is "pure darkness".
2) The start of the foretellers arc which would be a great opportunity to tie in the Darkness and Vanitas content we got from Dark Road and KHUX, especially with Strelitzia being a secondary character in the game.
(I also suspect that Ventus is going to be a major player in the arc to come with the addition of that Chriithy and Ven interaction at the end of KH3)
Because as much as everyone says otherwise...we don't really have confirmation on w h a t exactly Vanitas is, sure characters and Vanitas himself guess and speculate but we haven't got confirmation and I think thats important.
Kingdom hearts is a series which allows its characters to be wrong, we've seen this time and time again (nobodies can't grow hearts for example) which is why I find it kinda hard to believe that Vanitas is and will stay some "ancient evil pure darkness".
Especially when, regardless of whether you think the novels are canon, Vanitas is an abuse victim in the BBS novel, he comes off more as a scared child than an ancient evil. Its plain as day you can't interpret it any other way
(also canon or not Nomura had to approve them pre release)
Add to that the subtle changes in expressions and voice acting during the end of BBS, the KH3 Monsters Inc world and his theme being in the Heroes section of an orchestra.
Idk gang some of yall have way too little faith in Nomura and the team behind these games.
I was dissapointed with Vanitas' handling in KH3 at first too but if you look at it from a deeper lens (as we should always its KH after all) the Two Vanitas theory, especìally @embraceyourdestiny 's explanation which I think is fantastic btw, works.
Or at the very least, him starting a redemption arc in KH4 is more thematically cohesive with that game rather than KH3, frankly I think it would have been too rushed to add into KH3 with everything else going on.
"But he said he fully accepted his darkness" Yeah and Xigbar is Luxu, characters can hide their feelings or lie yall.
Even if he DOES truly believe that, don't you think its a touching story for a character who's hit rock bottom and has 0 faith in themselves to start their road to redemption? KH has always been sappy it would be a hard oppurtunity to miss.

ORCZY'S FAN FICTION RECOMMENDATIONS
For following Fandoms: Varian and the 7 kingdoms, Lego monkie kid, JRWI riptide
Hi there! I tought I would share some of my favourite fanfictions I've read since April last year, as sort of a recap and also recommendations. These are all longer stories btw, ranging from 78K to  236K words. Hope you find something that piques your interest :D
If you have any other recommendations, PLEASE share them, I'd love to read more from these fandoms.
VAT7K
-Varian's Tangled Trials by IFoundYouJustineTime and TheArtistsMuse A complete Vat7k story adapting the original creators' plot points into an amazing, 24 chapters (episodes) long fic that reads like an actual cartoon. If you're new to Vat7k or Tangled The Series, or even if you haven't seen the latter (like me), you WILL enjoy this. If you like a fun adventure with a bunch of nerds as a found family, this is for you.
-What Summer Meant to You -If I Really Hated you (and I really, really do) both by Battybatzgirl First one's a battle of the bands/modern AU, second is an AU where the boys are rival engineers, both focusing on the ship Varigo. The writing style is what made me stay and read these to the end. Incredibly funny and entertaining to read, the way Varian and Hugo are characterised is just. So good. If you like a well written, lighthearted, romantic comedy, this is for you. (Both include some skippable adult scenes, but the story is much more about the romance)
-Making End's Meet by Meltthepoint As the author's name suggest, this is a melting point (Donella x Ulla) story, set in a modern setting. Donella enrolls Hugo into this new school, who then befriends Varian. Ulla and Donella meet again. This is about how two women make up and start anew after their lives went into directions they didn't want. The story is much more character focused, a really fun read. Very insightful about the women's characters. An exception, as I still haven't finished reading it. Definitely not the type of fic I can binge read, but I'm really enjoying it.
At the end of everything by Squirrelflight A Night in the woods AU (haven't played the game, you don't have to, to read it), and unfinished as of yet, but man. Worth checking out! Unlike the stories above, this one's definitely darker and has a really tense aura. Love it. The writing is so good it makes me so thrilled about what will happen next! I also really like, once again, the characterisation.
LMK
-You can stay here by KALL A pre canon story about how Pigsy and Tang adopt MK, how MK gets to be in a safe environment and starts figuring himself out. Great writing style, entertaining plot, what more could I ask for? (maybe an update lol) As of yet, unfinished, and hasn't been updated since late 2022. The author actually posted ( https://www.tumblr.com/its-kall-the-clown/735524530668371968/are-you-going-to-be-updating-any-fics-on-your-ao3 ) about wanting to rewrite the story sometime. Which is great! In case you're reading this, take as long as you want!
-A garden across our collarbone by PittedPeaches Spicynoodle soulmate AU where what you write, or in MK's case, draw on your skin, appears on the soulmate's skin as well. Red Son's journey of (very slowly, this is a slowburn) falling in love with MK. A lot of inner monologues, the story plays out more like a retelling of what happened from Red Son's perspective. Kind of like a diary entry and I LOVE IT. I actually didn't understand the pairing before reading this, nor was I that invested in Red Son's character. This fic changed everything. (it also sends you good luck if you read it on the train! I acquired: friends!)
RIPTIDE
-BREAKING FREE! by earlgray_milktea A fish 'n chips Highschool Musical AU (another thing I haven't seen, you don't need to, to read this). The writing is so undoubtedly Disney, it is at times so over the top dramatic, you can't help but smile at half the interactions. The charm is big on this one. The characters are exagerated but somehow not (completely) out of character. Basically if Riptide was on Disney, this is exactly how they'd act. Also it's just really, really cute.
-Depths of Natarus by goldpines Chip Mermaid AU set in an Undersa/Oversea war, focusing on Fish n Chips as well as Jay Ferin (my girl!). Two reasons why you should read this right now. First: the descriptions are SO detailed and immersive! It made me also kinda have a crush on Gillion Tidestrider. How. Second: it made me care about Jay. And the way she's written here is just so so great. You can tell the author knows what they're doing, the feels just keep coming, I alost teared up multiple times. This story makes you feel a lot of emotions at once, an overall amazing reading experience.
And these were my favs since last April. Specifically the ones that made me go absolutely insane. In a good way. Again, if you have any good recommendations (preferably longer stories, but shorter ones are also fine), please feel free to share them.
Thank you for reading this, if you did :D

(Rough) Fact Checking on Rui & Ukkomon's statements in 02TB
Tumblr media
Tbh I'm kinda concerned about people taking Rui's statements for granted and not realizing the movie is unclear what is legit and whatnot.
This is not Kizuna-like levels of screwed up, but this is still bugging me as i've been discussing about this movie with friends who managed to watch it before me, and once i watched it by myself i completely understood their thoughts and theories regarding the movie and the Rui & Ukkomon lore.
We still got no actual news of digital releases or EN subs (tho i believe fansubs might appear once the JP Blu-Ray/DVD is released in May) or any other country digital release (or Blu-Ray/DVD ones) so i can’t completely make a detailed lore busting post about Rui’s statements and what we know or were presented in the original Adventure’99, 02 and their extra materials like Drama CD and movies.
But i do remember tiny bits of the movie… And stuff said in the pre-release stream.
I’ll do my best here.
[WARNING FOR SPOILERS AHEAD]
The movie staff released a timeline for this movie, which indicates Rui met Ukkomon in February 29 1996 → I don’t think this is a contradiction, because if the Korean interview with SekiP is reliable (i mean, we can’t check what she said in JP, and the telephone game from JP to KR and to EN means something might have been lost in the process!), she said they changed a bit of the lore for this movie. Btw, the OG lore of Digimon Partnership count starts in 1995 and then it doubles year by year is still present in the movie, as there’s a scene where the current number of partnerships in the year of 2012, but the number stated is not exact since the movie takes place in February only. So of course the count wouldn’t be the full year number, which is 131,072 partnerships in total.
Rui and Ukkomon form a bond, and Ukkomon grants Rui the wish of having many friends, which he tells the 02 group that partnerships with digimon were the result of this wish → This is completely uncertain, and it is also doubted by the 02 kids in the movie. In Adv’99 and 02 we learn that there’s multiple sources for becoming a Chosen Child: Homeostasis (Adv Eight, possibly their predecessors); Holy Beasts (Daisuke, Miyako & Iori); unknown sources (Menoa, Meiko, Ken, Wallace, Worldwide Chosen, Dark Seed Children perhaps?)
Rui claims he’s the first person who was partnered with a digimon → Well, this is not wrong! Now, if he were claiming to be the first to have met or interacted with a digimon… He would’ve been wrong: The first human to get in touch with the Digital World and the digimon were actually two – Oikawa Yukio and Hida Hiroki (yes, Iori’s late dad), in the 1980s. Despite that, they never had digivices at all. Then in 1995 we possibly had a double digimon encounter happening: Wallace meeting Gummymon and Chocomon briefly ¹, and the Yagami siblings meeting a Koromon. This could mean Rui and Ukkomon were actually the fourth digimon encounter in the timeline. But what is correct is that he became Ukkomon’s partner first because he got the very first digivice in the world. Taichi and Hikari weren’t partnered with that same Koromon ², but they got their own partner digimon + digivices in 1999. And Wallace probably became Terriermon’s partner years after, possibly in 1996 and after Chocomon’s disappearance ³, or post-1996.
Rui claims Ukkomon is a special digimon because he can grant wishes → Okay, but i definitely remember the 02 Kids going like “sounds cool bro but we doubt it” when he said that. And the movie itself quite shows the opposite later: Ukkomon did not cure Rui’s father, and he was possibly manipulating everyone else like puppets (besides Rui’s parents i meant) – so what kind of digimon who can grant wishes is this?! He has no magical god-like powers at all! And his null lore (Bandai’s) profile points out that part of granting wishes are just rumors. But you know what said profile mentions too? That Ukkomon is able to hijack the opponents’ minds. It’s his species’ special move – Liar Dream – besides spinning like a beyblade to attack (Whirlpool Spin).
Rui claims he killed Ukkomon a long time ago → Also not totally true. Rui tried killing Ukkomon, but he couldn’t commit to it. He tried to destroy the digivice, which resulted in his injury in the right eye. Ukkomon did not… “die” apparently. Yes, he was melting, but one detail you might not know is that when a digimon dies, everything from their body, or their weapon is also erased too. Check Adv’99 death for Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon. The eye Ukkomon slapped into Rui’s face was still there after his “death” so this was the biggest hint for the audience. It was also implied in the Audio Drama #3 (released in the Japanese theaters, and soon in the BD/DVD deluxe box as bonus with the other two theater ones) – But it’s okay, he possibly never had a contact with another digimon or even a Chosen Child before meeting Daisuke & co, so we can’t blame him for believing he had killed Ukkomon.
In a flashback, Ukkomon tells Rui that he’s connected to something bigger → This might be the only legitimate truth he had told Rui, besides that Rui was the first person partnered with a digimon. Somehow, Ukkomon is connected to some god-tier entity because once BigUkkomon is destroyed, the digivices are not needed anymore. This part might be completely confusing for everyone else, but it’s not confirming Rui’s claims that the digimon partnerships were caused by Ukkomon, and yes the part of Ukkomon’s claims to be related to some higher up god-like entity.
The notes within the text:
To my biggest surprise… Wallace never mentions when his mother found the egg. But he definitely mentions when Chocomon disappears – 7 years before, which means 1995. I’ve seen many people think this movie goes against the canon in different ways… But now i’ve reached the conclusion that what Wallace meant is that he met Gummymon and Chocomon in the same year Chocomon disappeared in the flower field. Plus, Wallace is shown in those flashbacks as a 4 years old kid (stated in the Memorial Chronicle) and we know via a CD bonus card that Wallace’s age is 11 years old in 2002 (same as Daisuke, Takeru, Hikari and Ken) – so i guess if he had gotten the egg before 1995 he would’ve been too young to remember it (unless you opt for 1994, but i think this wouldn’t be possible…)
The Koromon who met Taichi and Hikari is implied to not be the same who was partnered with Taichi 4 years later in Adventure'99: the TV series Agumon knew Taichi’s name because of the data inserted on his egg by the Agents, which were also manufacturing the Crests and Digivices, according to Homeostasis’ analysis on the children from the Greymon vs Parrotmon fight.
Since Chocomon went missing, i suppose Wallace became partnered with Gummymon only, but if we go with Adv’99 and 02, the Chosen Children can evolve non-partnered digimon as well: Leomon mentions he only managed to evolve into SaberLeomon because of the Chosen Children’s digivices being used on him previously in the series, and in 02 we witnessed the Digimon Kaiser using his digivice to dark evolve Agumon into both SkullGreymon and MetalGreymon virus (the latter only when he created the Evil Spiral, of course).

I'm sorry if this message seems odd, but there's a secret message in this post that you might be exited by! (Just ask me if you can't figure it out or don't want too.) Again, sorry if this ask is weird!
NO, NO, IT'S NOT WEIRD AT ALL
I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS BECAUSE I HAD *THE DREAM* LAST NIGHT AND I WAS JUST SITTING DOWN TO POST ABOUT IT..... I guess I'll do it in this ask then!
OK SO WHAT I MEAN BY "THE DREAM" is the prophetic Phantom dream that all of us M+R fans seem to be having, in our own ways. It finally happened to me!
So I dreamed I was on vacation with my parents and brother, like the one I just came back from, except this time we were in this weird steampunk version of New York City. There was a lot regarding that I could talk about, but the important part for our purposes is that Ubisoft randomly dropped the third DLC out of nowhere the day I was going to leave, so I decided to take the Switch even though I don't normally take it on trips.
I didn't have much chance to play it because I wasn't able to download it until I got to my destination, and then I was trying to grab little moments here and there when we were on public transportation, or in our hotel. So my dream was jumping back and forth between the steampunk New York scenes and the game.
As for the game, the heroes had landed on this planet that I could best describe as looking like Palette Prime in the spring (similar vibes but a lot more green), and I think my brain forgot this was supposed to be a Rayman thing lol because all the Mario characters were there. When they got there, they found there was a strange cult and everyone was talking about their "new leader" and how some people respected him but others were afraid.
Then cut to a scene of Phantom spying on the heroes! He was in some kind of abandoned church or temple, looking out an ornate window, and he also had some kind of little underling with him. He was infuriated that the heroes had arrived there and he flew threw a wall.
The rest of my experience with the game was mostly just exploring, except Phantom would send up menacing faces/images into the sky to scare the Heroes (like translucent holograms/illusions), but they were just generic scary faces (not his own) so they hadn't figured out who it was yet.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm sure this whole cult thing came from @hostess-of-horror comparing Phantom to Cthulhu with him invading our dreams and us trrying to summon him, lol.
I was super happy but I had vowed not to get on the internet until I beat the DLC so nothing would be spoiled for me, but I just knew everyone would be happy. And when I woke up, it all seemed so real that I said, "He's coming back for sure!" But throughout the past few hours, that wore off and I came back to my realistic and grounded self who never gets her hopes up!
And THEN as I sit down to type up the dream and share it with you all, I see this ask!
What a day!
(Btw I pre-ordered this album a while back lol so I will get it eventually!! And we have the old tech to listen to it on because my partner is a vintage stuff enthusiast)
Ahem but anyway
THEY'RE JUST FUCKING TELLING US NOW
FLKASJFLKASJDFLKA GAAAAAAAAARHGHLAKDSHF ALKDSJFLDJSLKFJLKSJ
We were RIGHT this time, friends. The theories, the foreshadowing, the attention that we paid, it will be rewarded!!!
Ok now I have to go back to my job... somehow......... I'm expected to work......

stalked ur profile and noticed the fandom fave ask games, Peaky Edition?
OHOHOOHOH YESSS-
This is going to be difficult. Am i allowed more than one character per category??? (also tytyty for the ask muah muah)
(tagging @red-riding-wood because i know you love these)
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
Listen, if you've been on this blog for more than five seconds, this will be no surprise. It's Luca, that goddamn fruit bastard<3
The moment he lifted that hat and spoke in his tony-soprano-meets-the-godfather-esque voice I knew I'm going to be obsessed but HOLY SHIT. The brainrot, it's on another level.
And Arthur, oh Arthur...
Most tragic character in the whole show, so full of love, hate, anger, EVERYTHING. He's as entertaining as he is tear-worthy, and theres no scene with him i dislike. Baby...baby boy...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
ARFAAAAAAA-
Again, everything i said above. I want to make him soup and hug him, then maybe hiss at Tommy (selfcare)
AND CURLY
He makes me kick my feet, and his scenes with May make me wish he had more screen time. I need him to give me a tour of Small Heath. I'd die a happy man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
MY LOVE
MY BELOVED
ABERAMA GOLD
His death made me actually cry (i still don't see it as canon shhh), he was my favourite since he appeared in season 1 and has been my obscure love ever since (still want to write something for him, but i have so much stuff i need to write first)
Tumblr media
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
Johnny Dogs!!! My dude! My man! My silly little horny guy!
I want a compilation of him. I want to drink some booze with him and for him to tell me shitty life advice that I would NEVER actually implement.
Tumblr media
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
DOES NOT DESERVE THE SHIT SHE GOT.
Y'all cannot handle nuanced/flawed female characters and it shows. Linda has my heart. I love hypocritical Catholics, we are not the same.
Live, laugh, love Linda <3
Tumblr media
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
Tommy.
This man. He deserves nothing more. I love him, but i also want to see him suffer. That's Tommy Shelby, i want him covered in his own blood, in a mental breakdown, screaming, crying, throwing up.
Im mentally sane btw.
Tumblr media
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
We don't like nazis in this house, not only am i sending him to superhell, I'm shooting him first and throwing salt over where the body was. I LOVE his actor to death, but my 1. History obsessed 2. Polish ass has always had a personal vendetta against pre-war western fashos

Because I believe that Sceleritas Fel hates the chosen for all in some way contributing to his sweet master being diposed (Kethric for always planning to allow Orin to take their place, Gortash for the events that lead to the Prayer for Forgiveness and Orin for being the defective Bhallspawn that dared to try and murder his sweet master) I believe that there is so much opportunity for fuckery in ACT 2 at Moonrise Towers.
Like, I'm still on my first durge playthrough and I'm doing a redemption playthrough so I'm not sure what happens if you kill Isobel, however I think it's not a jump to say Fel wants durge to kill Isobel partly to get back at Kethric.
And I just think Sceleritas Fel telling the Dark Urge "BTW sweet master, you know this guy! Pretty well in fact! He helped cover up your attempted murder and was complicit," because I think it'd add interesting angst and dialogue choices, "so anyway moving on, do you want to know some stuff about him that when you see him again is going to make him shit himself?"
With BG3 being a role player game I understand that stuff like the party planning what they'll do how they'll attack and will they pretend or so forth happens 'off screen' and is more implied than anything since you control the companions whilst in combat. But also given the dialogue choices give approval and disapproval points I'm just saying sometimes the durge/tav deviates from what they're SUPPOSED to be saying and I think that added onto my idea of Sceleritas Fel telling the Dark Urge about Thorm adds brilliant opportunity for something like this:
Party enters the tower -> Durge greets ppl like they're new but enters the kitchens for the Gnolls bc Fel mentioned them -> ppl/Gnolls in the kitchen think Durge is back. They do not correct this. The whole Party is confused. -> enters throne room. Goblin cutscene plays out.
"Why don't we let our new friend decide?" Says Kethric.
Only for the most devious, most 'oh there are far too many teeth in that maw, but more teeth makes it easier to kill doesn't it?' Smile to crack across their face and they look not dissimilar to the few times the party has seen the Dark Urge lose themselves in the throes of battle, when the amnesiac companion who (if we take this as a redemption durge) is repulsed by themselves after awakening, can't quite tell who or what they really are once they have blood beneath their nails. And the party go 'oh shit' bc has the center of the absolute taken hold of that urge? But wait... Kethric Thorm has lost his composure, if only for a second. That smile MEANS SOMETHING to the man.
And so the Dark Urge continues, "New friend? Old Bones changes his friends as often as his goddesses'."
(Gonna be honest, Old Bones as a nockname comes from no Saint without audience on AO3, by Ikarons who's portrayal of the Dark Urge kind of rewrite my brain abt pre tadpole Dark Urge and durge in general)
And it shakes Kethric. Because the Bhallspawn speaks like they KNOW him, but they shouldn't... and yet they were the first True Soul, the first independent and a master of the Elderbrain so perhaps even she has her favourites. The Bhallspawn seems to always be a favourite child. And if the Bhallspawn knows him, has collected true soul allies who knows what their plans on? Perhaps it would be best to let this play out; to not alert Gortash (who may foil the plan, who may make the Bhallspawn falter yet again) and Orin (who he would not be opposed to watching be ripped apart by her kin.) just yet.
Perhaps it would be fair to see what the favourite child of Bhall is like now that they seemingly have kept companions alive and loyal without them baring thr crazed marks of Bhalls butchers?
"Of course, how could I forget the butcher? Now, friend, your decision?"
(Meanwhile the party is in utter disarray bc wtf is happening. Which at the next long rest/trio back to camp could trigger a scene where you reveal the existence of Sceleritas Fel and that he has revealed some information about Kethric but only that which you knew BEFORE, refusing to allaborate on how you knew then.

in the wildhorn musical, btw—specifically in the pre-bway tryout in 2011—there’s this game the hatter plays.
everybody at the table writes down the thing they hate most about alice. and then the march hare reads all of it aloud, with the goal of breaking alice. (when the show transferred to broadway later that year, this scene was narrowed in focus such that it’s all coming from the hatter, but the essence remains)
you’re moody, unfocused, can’t take the pressure. can’t budget time, can’t manage money. rude! doesn’t stand up for herself, doesn’t play well with others, doesn’t like herself, doesn’t know why she’s here, doesn’t get the game, doesn’t play the game—
the white knight describes the tea party as “a mean spirited bunch of bullies who want to do away with everyone and everything but doesn’t have a clue what to put in its place.”
& the hatter’s goal in the musical fundamentally is to wear alice down and then take over.

Yoonah is tired.
They've been filming all day for this music video that Yoonah doesn't even know if she likes anymore. She's heard this song two thousand times over and it's starting to scratch against her brain in a way that makes her want to curl in on herself.
She keeps looking at the door.
People have been coming in an out all day, that's how filming goes, she knows that, but she can't stop herself from staring at every face that appears when the door opens. The more time goes on, the more anxious she gets about that door and who will walk through it.
"Can you go again, Yoonah?" Iseul asks off set and behind the cameras but Yoonah knows she isn't asking. Yoonah has to go again. She has to film this scene again, and again, and again until she doesn't slip up on the footwork she created. She hates how off her game she is. It's the anxiety, she knows it is, but nothing she does seems to quell it.
Yoonah swallows with a nod, adjusting the top of her dress. She picked it out. She picked everything out now that she thinks about it. Her hair, her makeup, her outfit, her set, the song, it's all her's but even then she can't shake the dread that drips down from her brain and seeps deep into her bones.
"We're going to start from the pre-chorus, okay?" Iseul tells her, voice loud as it echoes off the walls of the set. The set resembles that of a house but with a large glass mosaic window that takes up the entire wall behind Yoonah. The mosaic is full of pink, purple, and yellow shards of glass and lit from behind so the colors bounce off Yoonah when she dances. Yoonah designed it herself. She thought it was cool to see come to life seven hours ago now it gives her a headache.
The backup dancers get into position around Yoonah as she tips her head from side to side, cracking the joints in her neck as she rolls her frail shoulders back. The door bursts open. Yoonah jumps with a gasp at the loudness of it bursting open, her heartbeat picking up for a moment before she sees that it's just Adrian with two bags in his hand.
That's right, she thinks, he went out to get us dinner. Her heart is still beating rapidly, her eyes jerking around the room before swallowing again with a deep breath.
"You got this, Yoonah!" Aki cheers from beside Iseul, smiling at her friend and giving her an encouraging thumbs up. Yoonah forces a smile at her, giving her a thumbs up in response before shaking her hands out. She gives Iseul a nod that she's ready, moving to the center of the room and putting her head down.
"And action!" With the director's call, her song begins to play. Yoonah doesn't think a lot when she dances––Well, she used to not think a lot when she danced. In recent times it's been hard for her to do anything without overthinking. She swears the voices in her head are so loud and the images so vivid, she can't see or hear what's around her.
She misses a turn, causing her to bump into a back up dancer. A sea of groans can be heard behind the camera as Yoonah stumbles away from the dancer, mumbling out an apology as her gaze stays on the wooden floorboards for a moment before looking up and seeing Iseul with her head in her hands, shaking her head slowly.
Yoonah looks away with a bite of her cheek, feeling her throat tighten but she shakes it off.
"Let's go again," Yoonah demands, quickly getting back in her spot and motioning the dancers to do the same with a twirl of her finger. There's a sudden wave of confidence and authority in her walk and in her voice, it makes the room perk up a bit.
"Take 5...Action!"
This time, Yoonah hits the first few beats without a problem. It takes everything in her to hear the music and not her own voice telling her she's in danger, to look over her shoulder, that he's right behind–
"Yoonah, you need to move your lips," Iseul barks, causing the music to cut off and for Yoonah to stop abruptly. "You're singing and dancing. You have to do both."
Yoonah nods, blinking quickly a few times when she feels her throat get tighter. She balls her fists up and releases them, long pink acrylic nails digging into her palms just enough for her to feel a slight twinge of pain.
"Yeah, yeah! Sorry," Yoonah trails off as she gets back in her spot, taking a deep breath again. "Sorry...Sorry. Let's run it again."
There's a small lull on the set that makes Yoonah feel uneasy, making her look at the door only to see that it's closed. She looks back on the ground, balling her fists up again when she feels her throat tighten up again this time making her bottom lip quiver. This is not the time, Yoonah tells herself as she breathes in and out deeply like her therapist told her to do in times like these.
Who would've thought the day would come where Yoonah listens to her therapist.
"Let's run it again!" Yoonah says more sternly, looking up at the crew like they're stupid for not listening to her the first time before looking down again, getting in starting position.
"Alright...Take five," She hears the familiar click of the clapperboard, "And action!"
Yoonah's head snaps up, putting on a new face as she begins singing the lyrics and executing her moves charismatically with a sharpness that was unique to her and her style.
"Kno-kno-kno-knock, knock," Yoonah sings, knowing the end of the take is coming and they can finally move on. They can get out of this set, move elsewhere, she can do new pieces of the choreography she worked so tirelessly on, it's one step closer to over.
Then she steps with her right foot instead of her left, making her turn the opposite direction than her dancers. To anyone else, it doesn't look like a mistake. She could play it off and it'd all be fine but she knows. Yoonah knows she messed up. She knows it's not right.
"Oh my god," Yoonah groans in frustration, covering her face with her hands as she aimlessly walks towards the back of the set. "Oh my fucking god." The tears come before she can stop them, making everything seem more dire than it already is.
Yoonah keeps her back towards everyone but hunches over, long black hair draping in front of her like a curtain. She can hear murmuring, voices that are familiar, but she doesn't turn around. She just needs a minute, is what she tells herself but she can feel the sobs beginning to blossom in her throat wanting to bloom out of her mouth but she won't let them.
She's holding her breath, eyes shut tightly, hands tightly holding onto her hair by the root as if that would ground her. It feels like nothing grounds her these days. These days feel like years. She can't stand it.
"Yoonah?" Aki whispers, appearing beside her. Aki can ground her somewhat but not enough to stop the inevitable breakdown that's coming. Yoonah takes a deep breath, looking at her friend with a sniffle, shaking her head quickly.
"Everyone is looking, aren't they?" Yoonah whispers, blindly reaching for Aki's arm to hold onto. Aki looks behind them then at her, shaking her head even if the reality is that everyone is looking at her.
"No. No one's looking. It's okay," Aki whispers, holding tightly onto Yoonah's arm. "Do you need a break? Why don't you take a break?"
Yoonah shakes her head.
"No, I don't want a break. I want to go home," Yoonah whimpers, shutting her eyes tightly as the mention of home brings out a sob from her. "I want to go home. I want to see my mom."
"Yoon–"
"I–I need to see my mom," Yoonah calls, turning towards the crew who all look at Iseul. Iseul sighs, standing from her chair and motioning towards Adrian to come along. He follows slowly, knowing how bad Yoonah's meltdowns can get. She's had a handful of them in the studio with him before this. He's helped her through them but it's not his favorite thing to do.
Yoonah sniffles.
"I want to see my mom," Yoonah tells Iseul again when she's close enough, "I need–I need to see my mom. I need to go home."
"Yoonah, you can't go home. You have to finish doing your job," Iseul says a bit too coldly for Adrian or Aki's liking, causing both of them to shoot her a warning glare. Yoonah looks distraught at the woman's words, shaking her head with a pathetic whimper. She wipes under her eyes with the back of her hand.
"I can finish tomorrow–"
"Yoonah, listen to me," Iseul says, using a calmer voice as she takes the girl's forearms into her hands, turning her to face her fully. "We can't do tomorrow. It's tonight and tonight only. I can't pay for another night of filming. Do you know how far that'll set us behind?"
"I'll pay for it," Yoonah whimpers with a shaky breath as she looks at the door again then at Iseul, holding onto her forearms to somewhat calm herself down. She can feel herself breathing heavier again like she's been running. "I'll–I'll pay for it, Iseul. I need my mom right now or I'm going to fucking freak out."
Iseul shakes her head as Yoonah talks, shutting her down before the words can even get out which only makes Yoonah panic more. She looks at Aki then Adrian then back at Iseul, shaking her head at all of them.
"I can't do this."
"Yes, you can."
"Come on, Yoonah."
"Just push through another hour and it'll be over."
All their voices mesh into one loud harmonization that makes Yoonah's ears hurt. She squeezes her eyes shut, ripping her arms away from Iseul with a loud whine, shaking her head quickly and moving into the corner of the set to be alone just for a minute.
Yoonah slides down the wall, knees to her chest, dropping her head onto her knees to consume herself in total darkness for just a minute. It brings her little comfort but at least some. A loud sob leaves her body, muffled by her legs but she hears someone walk over.
"Yoonah," It's Aki. "I know–"
"Can you get Juwon?" Yoonah asks, lifting her head and wiping her eyes quickly. Aki looks at her like she just spoke Latin, blinking a few times but Yoonah is unphased. "I need Juwon here. I–I can't do this without him here." That's half true she supposes. Aki gives her a look over before sighing through her nose, nodding at the request.
"I'll call him."
Juwon is always reliable. He's by Yoonah's side in 23 minutes flat. Yoonah doesn't know why he's the only one she can bring herself to talk to about the emotions inside of her.
"And every time I look at that door, I just–I swear he's going to walk through it and I'm so fucking scared and-and it's distracting me and I can't do the fucking moves right–"
"Shh, shh," Juwon coos, running his fingers through Yoonah's silky hair before bringing her head to his chest. "He's not walking through that door, Yoonah. I promise you he's not."
Deep down, Yoonah knows that. She knows of all the places Jinhwa could get to her, it's not here. Despite the fear being irrational, it doesn't stop it from consuming her.
"I know. I know but it's so scary. I can't focus," Yoonah whispers, wrapping her arms around Juwon with a deep shaky breath. Juwon's calloused hands rub up and down Yoonah's back, nodding slowly. "And I just want to go home and see my mom. I miss my mom." She's sobbing again, pressing her face into Juwon's chest, ensuring that her makeup gets messed up. She hopes maybe that is enough for Iseul to call it.
For a moment, Juwon lets Yoonah just sit there and cry into his chest. He's found that sometimes, that's all she needs. She just needs to scream or cry to get it out of her system.
After the three minute mark passes and she's still crying, he pushes her back softly. Yoonah keeps her eyes shut to avoid Juwon's intense gaze, balling her fists up again with a quiet wince when she feels the skin of her palms finally split beneath her nails.
"Let's call your mom, yeah?" Juwon whispers in a calming tone, causing Yoonah to slowly nod and open her eyes. She sniffles up at him as he wipes under her eyes with his thumb before pulling out his phone and handing it to her. Yoonah catches a glimpse of herself in the reflection of his screen before she's met with his lockscreen. It's a picture of her from a few months back when they went to dinner for the first time during her recovery.
Yoonah smiles softly at how happy she looks in that picture.
She types in his passcode before dialing her mom's number. She knows he has it saved but Yoonah has had her mom's phone number memorized since she was eight, it's just a force of habit to dial it at this point.
"Hello? Juwon? Is Yoonah okay?" Her mother answers the phone without so much as a second ring. Yoonah sniffles at her worries, whimpering quietly as she runs a hand through her hair.
"Mama," Yoonah whispers, putting her hand on her head with a thick swallow. "I miss you." Is all Yoonah can tell her before a sob leaves her lips, covering her eyes with one hand.
"Oh Yoonah, I miss you too," Her mom tells her in her usual comforting voice. She swears she can hear her smiling because of how her voice lilts. "Are you still working?"
"They won't let me go home," Yoonah tells her, "I've been here all day and I-I cant get this take right. It's driving me crazy, mama. I want to go home."
"Did you ask Iseul?"
"Yes. She said I can't go because–because she paid for a full day and it would set us back if we filmed tomorrow."
Yoonah's mom hums, unimpressed.
"Ah...I see," There's a lull that makes her mom sigh through her nose, "There are a lot eyes on you right now, flower. They want you to fail. You can't let them be right."
Yoonah presses her palm against her aching forehead with a loud whimper. She knows she's right. Yoonah has so much to prove right now. She's supposed to be the face of her group, the most adored idol in South Korea, her comeback is predicted to be one of the most successful of the year. She can't fumble this, there's no time for her to lie down and give up.
"I know. I know...I'm just tired and, um, anxious. I'm, like, freaking out, mom."
"You've been tired before. What did you do then?"
Yoonah takes a deep breath, looking up at the ceiling before her eyes look down at the ground, swallowing thickly.
"I kept going," Yoonah whispers.
"Yes, you did!" Her mom says, her voice getting higher with enthusiasm. Yoonah can't help but to smile softly, wiping under her eyes as she leans against the wall. "You just keep going. You always keep going because we raised you to be strong, right?"
Yoonah nods, "Yeah. You did."
Her mother hums.
"So, what are you going to do after we hang up?"
"I'm going to keep going," Yoonah mumbles, "then I'm going to go to your house and have dad's cabbage stew," Yoonah adds to make herself feel better, smiling genuinely for the first time in hours. Her mom laughs.
"Of course, you will!" She laughs that makes Yoonah laugh softly, wiping her cheeks again with the back of her hand. She pushes herself up to stand, Juwon helping her up by her arm and putting an arm around her waist to support her.
"I love you very much, Yoonah," Her mom tells her in a voice that immediately clams any remaining nerves in Yoonah, "I'll see you soon, okay? Make me proud."
Yoonah clears her throat with nod.
"I will, mama. 'Love you."
"Love you too."
Yoonah hangs up with a sniffle, handing the phone back to Juwon with a deep breath. She rolls her shoulders back as she walks out of Juwon's hold, wiping under her eyes again as she gets back to the center of the set.
Her eyes look around at the crew and her friends. She motions to her messed up eye makeup, raising her brows.
"Can I get makeup over here?" She calls. Instantly a gaggle of makeup artists rushes over to her, touching up her makeup with q-tips and sponges. Yoonah looks at Iseul, nodding her head at her.
"Can we run it again?"

It was just announced that AC Mirage is releasing in October. Are you excited? (I managed to get the collectors edition!)
Congrats! I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition as well <3
Sidebar: the normal version is currently 49.99 USD in PSN which gives us an idea of how long (and how big) this game would be. It's not surprising as Mirage did start off as a DLC of Valhalla so this will definitely not be as long as the recent AC games. I hope that means this would have a tighter more focused storyline and doesn't mean the narrative suffers because it's shorter. Also, as it's available for previous generations, it would probably have the same graphic options as Valhalla.
Alright, this can be a bit of a rant because, well, it's me XD
I read it's using Origin's parkour system but they've improved on it which sounds nice 'cause it's like the love-child of old and current AC games' parkour system.
The scene where Basim used that lamp-looking thing to quickly turn? Reminded me a lot of the old AC games, that's for sure. And that throwing knife kill? Definitely gave me AC1 flashbacks XD
Special assassinations are back and, not gonna lie, absolutely excited for that. That was my favorite part of the stealth mechanics of Unity, Syndicate and Valhalla's Siege of Paris DLC. I'm hoping it's quite diverse like those games and that scene where Basim uses a rope to hang his target feels like one of the special assassinations.
Also, also, also...
Chain Assassinations look so cool and if this is an unlockable skill, I know where my early skill points are going XD

As for open combat, I'm a sucker for dual wielders especially if it's the more traditional long blade/short blade combo and I love fighting styles that have a lot of twirling around so this entire sequence?

Yeeeessss, thank you. Twirl for me, dorky wolf dad. Twirl. I demand more twirling.
Btw, his Mirage fighting style is a bit different from his AC Valhalla style and I wonder if we'll know why he changed his fighting style in Mirage? (I'm betting it's connected to his Loki memories)
Baghdad looks awesome btw and, not gonna lie, I am having AC1, Revelations and Origins flashbacks.

Also, we saw another character in this trailer that is actually mentioned in AC Valhalla.

(So we know he's not gonna die which is nice XD)
Overall: I am cautiously optimistic and I hope Ubisoft doesn't fuck this up. I really hope Mirage is a success so the higher-ups in Ubisoft see that stealth-heavy AC games are worth developing.
Also, I read the Prince of Persia remake is being handled by Ubisoft Montreal (who is also handling Hexe) who handled Mirage so this might be a good indication of the kind of game the Prince of Persia remake could be.
Also, because it's me.
Hello, Hidden Blade Kink, my old-ish friend.
