My favorite Morgoth moment is when the Great Enemy of Middle Earth got attacked by a big spider and shrieked so loudly all his balrogs heard from miles away and had to come rescue him. Damsel behavior

Thinking about "your weakness is how you always want to be the hero" and how the series returns to this at the end
Li Lianhua hated how he acted as Li Xiangyi and spent years trying to distance himself from it, but ultimately he still fell back into the similar patterns, for all his added experience
His main priority was always to "do the right thing" regardless of how that would impact on those around him. And it *did* impact those around him. From Qiao Wanmian and Shan Gudao as Li Xiangyi to Fang Duobing and Di Feisheng as Li Lianhua
Giving the Styx flower to the emperor so he could use it as leverage to guarantee Fang Duobing and his family's safety. Using the last of his power to save Yun Biqiu. Constantly putting others above himself whilst actively refusing to recognise that his self-sacrificial nature would hurt those he cared about most
And sure, he thinks he's going to die anyway. They're going to be hurt regardless and he can't do anything about that. His odds are low of the Styx flower even working. But ultimately, he refuses to even consider trying. Li Xiangyi has been dead a long time and Li Lianhua is just there to tide things over. What value is the life of a ghost
To the end, he lives and dies a hero. To the end, he refuses to live for himself.

so...tell me ur thoughts about shim changmin. all of them. don't hold back 👀
basically some days i wake up ready to fight God and Changmin's wife and Changmin's husband (Yunho) and Changmin's boyfriend (Minho) for a spot in the harem bc i deserve to be there too and some days i wake up and i'm like 'you can have him to yourselves it's fine. we're fine we're good everything's fine as long as i have his number and an endless list of his witty comebacks at my disposal' and then the cycle begins again. if that makes sense

the SHWEP host does that really annoying thing where he tries to give ancient philosophers credit for anticipating modern developments, like comparing the Stoic idea of sympatheia to quantum entanglement, and like... okay, even if you have the qualitative understanding of quantum entanglement correct (which I doubt; what little of quantum entanglement and I understand and less of stoicism makes them sound like very different ideas), even a passing similarity can’t paper over the fact that there’s a strict mathematical formalism underlying the model of any quantum behavior, which is entirely absent from ancient philosophical ideas like stoicism
and i think--especially if you are an academic who studies philosophy and doesn’t actually know that much about or have much direct exposure to physics--it’s easy for a layman to make the mistake of assuming that the big idea behind something like quantum physics is the important part, and the formalism is, like, an ancillary set of details you need to figure out the answer only to specific technical questions.
now, i’m just a small town english major, but from where i’m sitting it looks to me like important part, the thing that makes physics, well, physics, the whole point of working within that system of knowledge as opposed to another one, is the mathematical formalism; the mathematical formalism, in other words, is the big idea, and the qualitative description is an attempt (frequently flawed) to simplify and analogize that formalism until you can convey at least something approaching its meaning to people who lack the training to engage with the formalism directly. attempting to engage with the ideas behind quantum mechanics without doing anything involving the mathematical formalism is just... not physics. it’s not even close. so unless and until they find a papyrus in some archeological site in egypt with an ancient greek version of the hamiltonian of an electron scrawled on the back, i’m gonna say the ancients did not in fact anticipate any of the significant developments of 20th century physics

Donnie swallows thickly. His gut is a hard knot.
“Father,” he rasps. “When, he. When he wakes, there will be changes.” He tells him. He’s not so sure how much Leo and Raph had filled in for him whilst he was sleeping, but he needs to do this anyway. He needs to say it outloud even if it’s just for himself.
“And we shall embrace the change,” his father says with a rumble of his voice, like a gentle storm on the horizon. “Like we have always done.”
Donnie feels more tears blot at his eyes. That wasn’t the point. He balls his fists tight, pressing his knuckles firmly into his thighs. When he looks at his brother lying there motionless on the cot, his brain does not hesitate to supply him with the terror of last night. Far more frightening than any late night horror movies they watched as kids.
“It’s more than that, master,” Donnie tries to gently explain, quelling the growing frustration that bubbles up involuntarily inside of him. “It’s going to take a long time for him to heal. Part of him may never truly heal. It’s going to be hard.”
Splinter doesn’t respond straight away, making Donnie think he’d accidentally upset him. It wouldn’t be the first time in his lifetime, especially under these such circumstances. But he hums, a short, low sound in the back of his throat, and he continues drawing slow, easy circles on his youngests hand once again.

the betraying holts ending fight with tyler is still the CRAZIEST sequence of the whole game to me. he is practically spitting and seething with jealousy over vince choosing dante over him. because like, that's what it's all about! he can rattle off it's about dale's death all he wants but he normally lets that go otherwise. his raw visceral anger in that scene is truly about him trusting vince and expecting vince to trust him in turn ( also insane behavior btw! ) ... believing vince at his word even though vince is soooo clearly lying, and isn't trying all that hard to cover his ass actually. he sees the pager and the messages and acts like a wife who got cheated on and THEN he sees vince shake hands with dante and loses his entire shit. will ATTACK the guy literal seconds after contact. everything about the scene just makes me rear back in my chair and go oh, oh, tyler this is so embarrassing. you should not care this much. having friends and other relationships before this moment would've saved you a world of grief imma be real

hey real quick bc i haven't seen anyone really talk about it; fuck Hoarders. what a disgusting fucking show. like i know a lotta content boils down to "let's gawk at mentally ill or poor or whatever ppl" but this one specifically really peels my paint. it's sickening. let's spend an hour walking around someone's house and going "wow!! look how fucked this is!!! i can't believe you live like this (despite having done like 13 seasons of this)!!!! you really need to get your act together, buster!" and then interviewing the family to get sound bites demonstrating how much of an Unreasonable Burden the subject is and (without actually helping any of the mental health issues that may lead someone to hoard) roll their eyes at them when they are upset at someone taking and trashing/destroying their precious belongings (or are made to do it themselves). and then half the time in the where are they now segment it's like "yeah they relapsed lol idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" like??? no shit dumbass.
i don't care how strange their homes or habits are. these people are deserving of compassion and real, honest help. they don't need people to marvel at how Kooky Wacky Bonkers™ they are, and they don't need people to hurt them just because they don't understand what they see in their possessions or are embarrassed by knowing them or whatever.
we don't need another voyeuristic savior-complex charade where the condition for The Most Half-Assed Help You've Ever Seen is being publicly humiliated and having to destroy things that mean a lot to you. what the fuck.
