Dear Fanfiction writers, If you want to do a female Percy Jackson Fanfiction or a Percy Jackson's sister fanfiction, for fuck's sake, stop calling her Persephone? Must I remind you, that Sally Jackson named Percy "Perseus" because he was one of the few greek heroes, who had a happy ending? Do you really believe she would go:" My son? Oh, I'm gonna name him after one of the few heroes survived in hopes that he will have a happy ending himself" just so she can go like two seconds later "Well, my daughter? How about naming her after the goddess that was kidnapped by the god of the underworld and was forced to marry him and is probably really unhappy about this, because this way, she can't see her mother, who she dearly loved, in one third of the year. Yeah, a brilliant idea. Let's hope she won't end this way!" Like, common. That doesn't make sense. And please, don't come at me like:" This isn't true, I've read in this and that retelling, that she went down there by her own will and-" Shut up.

I don't know if this is true. But even in the books of Rick Riordan it is clear, that she was kidnapped so we go along with this in this universe.

Why can't you name her after a person, that actually had a happy ending? What about Ariadne? I know, that she had quite a shitty life for some time, but in the end, she married the man she loved and even became a goddess! And can you imagine the face of Dionysus when he realises that the sister of this annoying child is named after his wife? Would he pissed or would he have a little soft spot for her, because she acts so much like her and could be Ariadne's daughter? Or Psyche. I mean, she too had a rough life ( What hero didn't) but she too had her kind of happy ending. She too became a goddess, married the man she loved ( at least in the versin of the myth Riordan chose) and her name even starts with a P. Or use a name of one of the muses. Just, stop with this persephone thing. Please, after what feels like thousands of fanfics it starts to become boring.

Eddie leans back against Skull Rock with a heavy sigh, wondering if maybe he could finally get a little shut-eye while he waits for Dustin and the rest of the cavalry. He closes his eyes for just a moment and immediately flashes of Chrissy's broken body flash across his mind's eye.

"Fuck," he hisses, snapping his eyes open as he breathes in to try and calm himself down. His whole body seems to shake as he inhales, even worse when he lets the breath out.

How did it all go so fucking wrong?

He'd been so excited to meet up with Chrissy in the woods. For the first time since middle school, he was going to have her full attention. No judging eyes, no whispers following them around, no Jason. Just the two of them.

It was perfect. He'd made her laugh, made her smile. She remembered the talent show; a night he'd been obsessing over for years. Even now, when he thinks about it, his heart still skips a beat.

But then his chest clenches with pain and anguish. Chrissy's gone. He watched her die. And he did nothing.

Eddie's breath gets even shallower as he puts his head in his hands, his eyes burning with tears that he tries to ignore. Grief overwhelms him in a matter of seconds and he presses his hands over his mouth to muffle the sound of his sobs.

I'm sorry, he repeats over and over in his head, screaming it to the heavens with the hope that she'll hear him. He never meant for any of this to happen.

Okay, yeah I just learned that Zepotha's a movie now apparently. And a slasher even! I barely even remember reading the original short story in a old collection when I was in middle school! And yeah, I'm sure there would be some changes in adaptation, but even back then I was sure that it'd be tough to translate the week in the void pit effectively.

WIP Drinking Game

Ok, so I know I said I wouldn't be doing tag games for a hot minute. That mainly just applies to last-line-type games, though, since I'm kind of short on new writing. (Low-key forgot that other kinds of tag games existed.) This looked hilarious, so I'm taking advantage of @dogmomwrites' open tag.

Also tagging @angelasscribbles, @late-to-the-fandom, @adrielcastlyre (in case they have something to contribute that I didn't think of), @graciecreates, and @royal1asset-if. And I'm leaving it as an open tag as well.

Rules—make a drinking game that could theoretically be played while reading your WIP. The game can range from leaving the reader tipsy to killing your reader with alcohol poisoning (don’t actually kill yourselves with alcohol poisoning tho)

I'm gonna pull an Abnormal this time and use the whole trilogy for reference. I'm also determined to kill you all with alcohol poisoning. Mainly because I dislike alcohol, and thus never drink it, and thus have no idea how much is a reasonable amount to drink. So keep that in mind.

Ok, let's go!

Take a shot every time Aorin says something preachy.

Take a shot every time a character's eyes change color.

Take a shot every time the Leures girls call somebody fussy or prissy.

Take a shot every time Adriel does something gay.

Take a shot every time Winson goes into a jargon-filled ramble about his job.

Take a shot every time somebody gets kidnapped or otherwise taken captive (and take a double-shot if they're tortured by their captors.)

Take a shot every time somebody gets clandestinely cucked by their partner's career.

Take a sip every time a character is forced to work with someone they despise.

Take a sip every time a character is referred to by their alias.

If that last one didn't kill you, take a double-shot every time I use a parenthetical. I guarantee that'll finish you off.

unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!
