Happy trans visibility y’all! Im so glad for everyone who is here in my life today, who will be in my life in the future and who was there in the past ❤️
Kinda a bitter sweet thing but i remember the first time I lost someone in the lgbtq community it was a trans woman who had just come to terms/realization of her identity and struggled from there mentally until her too early passing.
I know that she struggled with feeling isolated and “weird”, or not “feminine enough”. I know she wasn’t represented in media at the time. I know our small religious community was a difficult place for her to be. So for everyone who is out living their life authentically, thank you so much. You make the world less lonely, more vibrant and more inclusive just by being in it.
No person should be made to feel like their gender identity or sexuality is not beautiful.

“Right out of the 30′s”
Louis Ives (transfem headcanon 💗) x gender neutral! reader
The Extra Man (2010) short fluff fic
Semi-request (mentioned in a previous post)
Summary: You help Louis with starting to learn about makeup and the two of you end up sharing a really sweet moment. (I use she pronouns here but I’m open to they/them as well <3)
Notes; fluff, potential romantic interest, care, makeup cw; trans feminine dysphoria.
thank you to @acapelladitty , @j0kerand0ck and @cocomojito for the makeup info <3
- A few days ago, Louis had asked you if you could help her learn about makeup. Naturally you accepted and went about to get everything together that she might need (you were planning to surprise her with it sooner than she might expect).
- Foundation, primer, concealer, highlighter, you got all the goods.
- You also made sure to get a variety of palettes for eyeshadows in order to be to try to figure out which colors would suit Louis best.
- Once you'd purchased everything that would be perfect for a first time application, you placed it all in a nicely silver-colored makeup which had blue, purple and gold streaks on it. You were sure Louis would love it. And afterwards you placed all of the larger palettes in a translucent plastic makeup case which had a zipper.
- On Monday morning, Louis was quite the sleepy head, and so she was sleeping in. You made sure not to wake her as to disturb her sleep.
- Once she had woken up, she sat on the side of her bed, wiping her eyes, beginning to notice you, sitting in front of her patiently.
- “Hmm...what is this?” she asked you. She seemed intrigued and humoured by your expectant pose.
- “I don’t recall having agreed to anything this morning...” she stated softly. You became increasingly happy and giddy to her being clueless about the surprise, and you said out loud “It’s your new makeup!”.
- “Oh, what?!” Louis expressed. “I didn’t think you’d get it so quickly...” she tilted her head, shy and excited. “Can I see?”. Your heart raced at her inquisitive and bashful smile.
- “Of course, Louis!!” you said. “We can try a look right now!”
- It wasn’t long until you had applied many different shades of primer, trying to look for the best fit (from the 3 different shades you had guessed from).
- Louis closed her eyes contently as you excitedly pampered her with colours and shades. The both of you giggling in between every step of the process.
- You highlighted the regions of her face with contour to highlight the soft shape of her face and accentuated her eyelashes with some light mascara.
- When you had finally finished, you were extremely happy about the result. You thought she just looked beautiful.
- Nevertheless, you knew that Louis would probably see some kind of flaw in it, since she had insecurities and worries about looking too masculine to present femininely (that couldn’t be further from the truth though). So you’d made sure to get an extra garment which would put the whole look together. One of those beautiful frilly capes from the 30′s, which you had luckily found in a little vintage shop.
- “Oh...”, Louis said. She reacted timidly about it, but you could tell she was touched and very moved by the gesture, on top of you having taking her through the steps of how to apply her makeup. “It’s beautiful...” she said.
- “Come on, let’s try it on” you encouraged her. You gently combed her hair to the side so she’d look just like someone right out of a 30′s women’s fashion magazine. She looked perfect with the hairdo.
- You then you covered her eyes as you both hobbled over to look in the mirror, which was in the opposite side of the room.
- You waited a few seconds to remove your hands, ecstatic to see Louis’ reaction. When you let go you heard Louis hold her breath.
- You then realized that the moment, for her, was surely much more overwhelming then you’d expect, because you knew Louis had had previous experiences of having dressed up and felt disappointed. You hated that Louis saw herself in those ways, putting herself down, but you knew that that’s how dysphoria worked. You then saw a look of relief wash over Louis’ face, to your relief, and a warm smile occupy her lips.
- “Thank you” she said.
- Louis looked over to her side and gave a slight twirl to the cape. “Yes...it’s really very nice, (y/n).” She spoke with intent, like every word mattered.
- You reached over to grab her hand to kiss it and gave it a quick peck. The two of you laughed.
- “Wait!” you said all of a sudden. “Your nails!” you said.
- How could you have forgotten that?
