Aquatic Yautja Concepts

So, I've been discussing with fellow Yautja fans in Discord Servers how the world and objects in an aquatic Yautja species look like. I've taken a couple of weeks to pull this all together. I'm no artist, though I try! Maybe some of the actual artists in the community would want to join in showing what they picture, too! I'd love to see what they look like. :)

First is a concept of architecture for the aquatic Yautja. I picture them as having the ability to hold their breath for longer amounts of time underwater because of bigger lungs, and thus a wider ribcage. They would situate their homes in the shallower waters along the shoreline with easy access to the ocean. Their homes would have skylights to let in the light. These skylights are made from dried out leaves that were left to bleach in the sun and painted with a compound derived from a coconut-like plant that hardens the leaves to withstand the hurricane season. The bones of the structures are made from ethically harvested trees that were culled to prevent overgrowth. The lighter brown on the walls are dried reeds and fronds from the trees used to build the internal structure.

By the entrance there is a window that they hang fish to dry on a net; this differs from home to home depending on individuals. Some may prefer to dry theirs inside, hanging from the ceiling or special nets mounted just for this purpose. Their beds would on raised daises covered in fur from local animals and woven fabrics. They bath in the shallow pools along the shore with soap that's derived from a sweet tasting fruit. I was inspired by architecture in tropical areas where they utilize what they have to build and live their lives.

These aquatic Yautja are largely fisherman and don't really have blooding rituals. They are focused on a quiet lifestyle living among nature. Unlike their cousins in the jungles, they prefer a sedentary lifestyle.

Here is a concept for a potential pattern of an aquatic Yautja. I imagine they have an array of blues, greens, yellows, and browns to help them blend in with the water when they swim. They evolved to have fins on their arms and legs to aid in swimming, a dorsal fin that can be retracted into their backs. Their arms and legs would be a little wider, the forearms and calves, to better aid in swimming. These Yautja would have evolved to have little fins on their necks as well. Below are more ideas I have for skin colors. I'm horrible at art and kinda gave up on putting it on a base figure. Use your imagination, lol.

V2, V3, and V4 are some of the colors that I picture them having. I also threw in a version of a more colorful aquatic Yautja in V5 and a skin color palette for one that lives in murkier waters in V7.

I also have created concepts for a few accessories. I think that they would make jewelry out of netting, shells, the bones from the sea creatures they eat (they use everything from their meals to leave no waste), and sometimes dried scales from fish that have been preserved to keep their shimmer.

Here are zoomed in versions of the necklace. I didn't want to put too much detail in them...since I don't know how. I left them simple so the idea can get across. Their accessories can vary from flashy pieces with big shells and teeth or simple necklaces like the one on the right made with small rocks.

Lastly is a single concept I had for clothing. I have SO MANY ideas for clothing, but I've been sick the last week and haven't felt like drawing them up. I imagine they wear netting that's been sewn into fabrics of light tan, brown, green, and blue with some pieces of red. They achieve these colors through dyes made from the blood of various sea creatures and plants.

Here is a simple concept for a bandeau. I like to think that the females wouldn't care about showing off their breasts due to the warm climate of the tropics that these Yautja prefer. This bandeau is made up of loose blue dyed fibers with a see-through burlap type fabric to back it. Their clothing is loose, colorful, and derived from the world around them.

That's all of the concepts I have for now. Maybe eventually I will make more if I'm feeling up to it. I'm more of a writer, so these take time. I'd love to see other folks ideas about aquatic Yautja! ^^

Day 26: Haunted Doll

Used a color palette for this as a part of the fun "2 artists, 1 palette" idea my friend suggested my group do, aha! (Unfortunately not sure where my friend got the palette from - gonna assume pinterest based on the quality drop it had. heh.)

Also for FOUR DAYS I misread this prompt as LIVING doll and now I feel like I slipped into an alternate universe where that ONE thing is different. I only found out when I went to upload this to my main socials. LOL.

Day 27: Grave

Wanted to roll with another color palette, one I've been eyeing for the past few days now: "Eldritch Horror" from @color-palettes

Inspired by a cat standing on a gravestone, I picked out the second most recent savra in creature search (an Iridescent gene) and rolled with it. Was a littttle difficult with less colors but worked out pretty well I think!

Subtle nod to Ironhand and his song Unwanted from V.H.E.M (Voluntary Human Extinction Movement) on that headstone there. One of my fav songs, it conveys so much without a single word.

Day 28: Cryptid

Opted for Mothman bc it was the first one to intro me to the world of cryptids all those years ago~ No palettes this time, just simple greyscale with red eyes bc I wasn't feeling good. Lol.

whats the ratio of inkling to octo in tsunaomi and why did you as the artist decide that

Tsunaomi is meant to be half Octoling, half Inkling, but in actuality, her design leans harder into Octoling traits than she does Inkling. That's mostly personal preference, though some were recent changes for ease of drawing. Because I literally have this unshaded piece open rn, you get diagrams.

Hair

Octoling:

Naomi has 8 limbs in swim form, and this is reflected in her standing form as her hair.

She has 4 true tentacles that all use the Octoling shape.

All of her tentacles have upward facing suckers

Inkling:

Her bangs are basically the Inkling Hippie cut bangs

Naomi has these two little 'vestigial' tentacles - essentially just little framing fringe that lacks the muscles and do not correlate to anything in her swim form.

NOTE: Originally, I used to draw her with a mixture of 2 Inkling 'egg' shaped tentacles and 2 Octoling tentacles. I changed this fairly recently because I was never quite satisfied with how the 'egg' shaped ones looked, and would usually just hide them behind her body. This opens me up to more poses to draw for her, since I'm not dreading her hair.

Mostly, her hair shape is meant to mimic very iconic bangs throughout music history, like Stevie Nicks and Selena ( I'm specifically thinking of the Si Una Vez live video. ) Long hair with waves, thick, straight across bangs. She also accidentally read as cheerleader for so long that I just made it canon, lol.

Face / Body

Octoling

Not even marked on here, b/c I think it's fairly obviously, her freckles are blue rings, like the Blue Ring Octopus. ( yes, this does mean she's full of neurotoxins. )

She has the 'sharp' * or clawed hands that Octolings have, as well as the ink transition color on her fingertips. **

The lil lopsided fangs are so cute, literally how could I not give that to her.

Oh, I also forgot to mark her pupils! I just think the 8 shape is neat.

* Canonically, the Octoling fingers are just a sharper shape than Inkling fingers, but like — Claws. Heart.

** Originally, I thought this was an Octoling-only trait, though ever since Deep Cut's designs dropped, I've decided it's actually a fashion / body mod trend, like a tattoo of some kind. Very popular in Takotsubo / The Octarian Domes, and it followed any Octarians who fled Inkadia for the Splatlands. Not very popular in Haikara / Inkopolis, though!

Inkling

Pointy ears - ironically, because we didn't know what Octoling ears looked like until Octo Expansion. I had assumed they were the same shape for years, lol.

Though, honestly, I would've picked the pointy ears over the rounded ones for Naomi anyways, I think they sell her design so well, and translate to my favorite part of her swim form.

Addendum: Swim form

I drew this in literally ten minutes haha.

Her swim form is basically an Octoling swim form, however, she has transparent fins on her head that make the triangle shape of the Inkling Squid form. I literally think its so cute you can't change my mind. Not related to her species make up, but I like to imagine she's like, Serval Cat sized - large, but not so large that you can't just scoop her up like a baby.

Other random facts that aren't really asked by the prompt:

If we're assigning real world ethnicities, Tsunaomi is Mexican and Japanese.

Her orange and blue color palette is literally just the default colors of Splatoon 1, but also, it's a darker version of the real world Blue Ring Octopus

I rarely draw her without red lipstick - another reference to musicians I really like; Again, Selena, but plenty of others too.

Her body type - thinner up top with thick thighs - is modeled after real world gymnasts and aerial performers.

Just had a glorious idea. Mermaid au where the batfam owns and works at an aquarium and all the villains are mermaids. Imagine the shenanigans that would ensue omg.

Edward: octopus obviously but like shiny and green, probably has iridescent question mark pattern that is even brighter minty green. like a blue ringed octopus but green and with question marks

Jonathan: anglerfish because they’re horrifying but make it autumn colors, the parts that are bioluminescent glow a menacing orange

Oswald: vampire squid because their tentacles are shaped like umbrellas, I like to think the color scheme is something like purple, black and white

Ivy: flower hat jellyfish but extra venomous, or a leafy sea dragon enough said

Selina: striped eel catfish except shiny black and the white stripes are gold or the same color scheme but a chain cat shark

Harley: harlequin cod but in either red/black/white or pink/blue/white

Killer croc: angel shark or alligator gar and with similar pale earthy colors

Zsasz: really scarred up barracuda idk about the color scheme but probably reds and greys?

Joker: clown fish but the orange parts are purple, the white parts stay white, the black stripes bordering the white are red. That way the curved white stripe in between the two red imitates his smile. The black stripes at the edges of his fins are green.

Bane: definitely a shark but I can’t choose between tiger or bull shark but like black/very dark red/very dark green

Freeze: orca but ice blue and white

Harvey: zebra or leopard shark but make it’s colors half and half and dramatically different from each other. either that or he’s a koi or half-and-half chromis fish

Jervis: dumbo octopus but probably muted blue/purple/green colors

R - Rainbow - What colors do you associate with them and why?

Mostly earthy tones because that's his color palette. Shades of brown, sand color, black, and the hellfire orange of his eyes.

A - Art - Do they draw or paint? What about any other kind of art? What's their favorite style/subject/another artist who inspires them?

He's not really interested in art but he does sometimes take a moment to look at the natural beauty of the desert when he's got the time. And when nobody who's gonna try and call him a sissy for looking at flowers or the sunset is around.

T - Teach - What skills of theirs would they teach you? What would you teach them?

First thing that comes to mind is marksmanship but honestly I know I'd be too spooked to learn. But hey, maybe he could give me encouragement and all that and I wouldn't be so freaked out. I don't know if I have anything to teach him, unless infodumping about cool animal facts counts

L - Language - What's their love language? What's yours?

I haven't really thought about what my love language is. I mean, I know I really like cuddling and get clingy when I feel lovey. Maybe also just going "hey I saw this and it made me think of you". Jake I think is definitely a cuddler too when it comes to loved ones and he's very much a pet-names and sweet lil words kind of guy I think. Also the type to threaten the hell out of anyone who crosses me.

E - Emotion - Is your f/o open with their feelings or do they keep them close to their chest?

Jake is definitely not open with his feelings. He's got a reputation to uphold and can't have folks thinking he's soft. Usually the most emotion I'll get out of him is when he's alone with me (that's prime snuggle bug time) or if something spooks him (ie; a hawk).

S - Story - If you and them were in a fairytale, which story would you be and who would play which character?

So when it comes to fairytale connection with Jake I always think of the Princess and the Frog. Kiss a rattlesnake and he turns into a dashing outlaw. Or kiss a rattlesnake and turn into a desert critter also, if we're going on the Disney version. My Rango s/i is a jackalope but if I were to literally translate myself into the universe I'd be a horned lizard I think. Same species as Waffles who is like. My favorite posse character. Priscilla's my other favorite secondary character (and we would have totally adopted her if I weren't like 100% positive Rango and Beans already have custody of her after the credits roll). Anyway I forsee Jake as a handsome outlaw who gets cursed into the form of a rattlesnake and in trying to break the curse with a kiss, I get turned into a horned lizard and then we both have to figure out how to undo the curse.

N - Nostalgia - What's your f/o's favorite memory?

Running with his old gang from his younger days. Six-Prong Lucy the jackalope, Quillface the bobcat, Pancho the scorpion, and Red Felicity the vampire bat.

In his snake form, I kiss him on the snout or forehead. In naga form I like to kiss him on the cheek. In either form he can give me snake kisses, which is just flicking his tongue against my cheek or nose. They tickle a little 🤗

J - Jewelry - Do they wear any? What kind? (Or what would they wear if they ever started?)

Idk if bandoliers count or the rattle-gun prosthetic he wears. In naga form I could see him wearing one of those rattlesnake-shaped leather and brass belts I've seen on Etsy. Not that he needs one because nagas don't have legs so they can't wear pants, but that would make it purely ornamental as in jewelry. There's also what looks to be a ring of barbed wire on his hat.

N - I'm gonna be sweet and say the first time we watched a horror movie together. I was hyped because it was one of my favorites and he was just admiring the smile I get when I'm enjoying something I love.

O - Online - What is your f/o's social media presence like, or what would it be like if they had internet in their world/era?

Honestly? He's the jerk who'll smugly correct your grammar while you argue with him and act like he's won because you misspelled a word or used the wrong "your".

S - I'm actually not sure about this one. Maybe like an evil Cinderella, since his story with my s/i Carmilla is kind of a rags-to-riches story in the manner of being taken from mundane daily life to the fantastical life of a supervillain.

16. what headmate is the weirdest species?

honestly most of us are human or alien but we have an asriel fictive, i don't think it gets much weirder than goat monster LMAO.

33. what is the funniest piece of system drama?

hmm at the moment? it's pretty quiet right now. Everyone gets along really well. but we do have this ongoing inside joke where we sort of take teams based on everyones main color in their "palette". A lot of us are fictives, and those that arent typically look very colorful-- like me for instance, i'm mostly blue. it started as one of us going "haha isnt it funny that so many of us are blue or green?" and it just caught on. the main factions are Red, Blue, Green, and Miscellaneous (who we affectionately call the crayon cult.) There would be more than four but our system runs on democracy so this way all of the numbers are pretty even lol.

It results in a bit of playful arguing & memes. right now, the crayons who were once a quiet minority have risen up and revolted against green, who were previously the most populous. team red and team blue are always arguing over who's cooler. also Purple Gang insists that they deserve their own bracket despite there only being 3 of them.

So in the Petit Vampire franchise, all universes-wise, when you die, you can become 4 things

If you had a "sweet" death as in you died in a happy situation you directly go to the Underworld, like Michel's parents (they probably died in a accident or something since both died together, but that means it had to be a quick sudden thing they didn't even realize). Nothing about unfinished business

If you die with a "broken heart", to quote Madame Pandora, you become undead. Aka if you had something missing or a trauma or pain or fear etc any negativity at the moment of your death. In short, nothing about unfinished business either

Then you have 3 ways to be undead, that seem to have no real reason to be different. You can also become undead from different reasons, whether be it a curse, dark magic, gambling with the dead, zombification/vampirization/summoning, a putrid smell that wakes up the dead etc. Do not mistake, creatures of Frankenstein like Marguerite don't count as undead but as monsters since even though they are made with corpses they have a mind and a life of their own with no former memory or soul from before. Undead animals like Fantomate speak and understand things like humans since Death obliterates the comprehension barrier species. Undead also have a hard time with time notion, in fact, having a simple idea about something they could have come up with 200 years earlier, like the Captain having the idea of using magical protections to hide themselves from the Gibbous only 228 years later which Pandora reproaches him to which he says he can't help due to being dead

Corpses, whether be it the zombie like we imagine it (except not "BRAAAAAIN" but normal like they were when they were alive), skeletons, or other like a beheades head or a skinned man's skin. Examples of living corpses : Valentin (a boneless body, all skin ; so depressed and lonely you can suppose why he became an undead), Carmen (a skeleton with hair and eyes).

Ghosts are the only non-corporeal undead people, their inanimate body is in another place so that allows them to have powers too. They can have very varied looks whether be it like they used to be with or without a different color, or skeleton-like or even in some cases monster-like. Some ghosts, often those who had a violent death or went through a curse, have a to go through a time loop forgetting they already did what they did before dying like they did the day before, the day before and the day before, before finally turning to new things, like the crewmate (who, when I say they can look like monsters, has a huge eyeball for head, like Commander Peeper in WoY lol) who gives the black spot to the Captain like on the day came the muttiny that killed him everynight for 375 years now because he forgot he did the night before ; they also can think they have other ghosts in their presence when there are none, making them look crazy to non-ghosts, again probably a side effect of the time loop like the Captain giving orders to what he thinks to be his crew when in truth there are no one which amuses Little Vampire who explains to a confused Michel it's a ghost thing. Examples of ghosts : the Captain of the Dead (looks like a skeleton with red pupils), Fantomate (looks like a red bulldog)

Vampires are special since they are corporeal yet have modifications and powers. They are dead (even if whatever the cartoon says I am PRETTY sure it is the one continuity vampires can reproduce and live like a normam species) like the other categories yet they go through changes like the appearance of sharp teeth, thirst for blood, sensitivity to sun, a different color palette and sometimes pointy ears in males. Only in the Grand Vampire/Aspirine's continuity it is said they have 0 memory of their premortem life, they perfectly remember in the movie's and early comics'. Examples of vampires : Little Vampire/Fernand, Madame Pandora

To note it is STILL possible for the undead to die, visibly in the cartoon if a monster eats a ghost as Fantomate is scared to be eaten and killed by Claude's family, and in the movie by the immortal lackeys of the God of Death, the Reapers, among them the Gibbous hence why he is such a threat. To note 2 things : the Reapers used to be normal people before, like the Gibbous, and in the cartoon continuity the Gibbous is not a Reaper working for anyone yet deadly to the undead and immortal so maybe because in it a monster/incarnarion/spirit of Moon itself therefore above life and death

“Species”: bird, not any specific kind, just…bird (name rule is easily fixed here if you just alter it to be like a pigeon or something. dont go with a complex bird species since you’re dealing with a kid’s restaurant robot, but perhaps pick a location and make its purpose to “educate” about a certain bird species idk)

Programmed gender: male

Years in service: 16 

appearance: light blue with yellow feet, red belly with four small buttons, four red feathers on his head, green eyes, and yellow beak. he has a major rip on his back the cheapo owners never fixed (see bio for how it happened) idk how to scan pictures lol id show you if I did (idk how i feel about these colors tbh, would like to see a color palette or something for this. also the buttons on the belly? strange placement for something with no clothes. like he’s not a snowman he’s an animatronic

as for scanning pictures im not too sure on that either but google could help you. i like the detail of the ripped beak though!)

bio: he was made for a Freddy's ripoff inspired restaurant called Pecky’s Burger World. he was made in 2003 a few months before it opened. in 2009 his programming was hacked and he performed death metal. it was fixed next day. rumors started circulating that he was possessed (he isn’t) and the restaurant is still open today. pecky is in ok condition, he has a rip on his back from kids playing rough (happened 2012) (PECKYS BURGER WORLD...that sends me rn 

also the hacking is hilarious, but useless as a detail. how does it serve pecky as a character? how does it serve Pecky’s Burger World to characterize it or serve the story’s purpose in any way? it doesn’t tell us anything, other than “well maybe pecky’s burger world is a shitty place if the animatronic was hacked,” but other than that...i don’t see a point to it other than ha ha funny funny. there’s other ways to make rumors spread about your animatronic being haunted in canon - maybe they start to give off weird, rotting smells, they stare too long at someone, they make weird creaks, there’s just made up stories in general, etc.

is pecky free roam? if so, use this to your advantage in getting kids to make up reasons for why he’s possessed/haunted. but i would feel like if it were me, i would stop making my animatronic free roam after kids ripped its back open. more detail on this in the future please!)

trivia: he has a prototype version from 2000. I might submit that one later. pecky has gone through some small changes in his time, such as slight color change from blue to light blue, eyebrows and eye replacements. (prototype pecky who will he kill

i enjoy the minor detail here in concept, pfft. it happens! good placement in trivia too, but not necessarily important to the character.)

your animatronic’s missing a personality in this submission, which could help us mods here better review your oc and give more feedback on it. it doesn’t have to be anything special or human-like - maybe make him this cheesy guy passionate about...bird calls, or something, and he plays them for the kids so they can learn about... birds? your oc, not mine, so go for it.

overall, not too much of a different oc from your typical “ripoff freddy fazbear animatronic” except for the fact that he’s not actually possessed. if i were you and wanted to make my oc stand out, i’d highlight this feature, especially the part where kids spread gossip about it being haunted. trust me, kids will make shit up about anything being haunted as long as it moves.

also need to think about cutting out what you don’t need for your oc or their story, because otherwise it’s just useless fluff that will get in the way for your audience. if this were a game wiki, i wouldnt mind the trivia, but if you’re going to have it, you should probably add something more than “prototype pecky had different eye colors and stuff.” i’d like to see differences contrasted on the reference sheets themselves so i go “ooh prototype pecky has different facial features” instead, but that’s just me.

🐭 • Okay so it’s Munday, I’m two days away from my last final (which means that I gotta prepare myself for it), and I have some stuff to do that will prevent me from sitting down and focusing on replies today so: how about I talk about my muses and why did I pick them? Yes, nobody asked, but I don’t care.

So I’m a very, very picky person. There are more chances for me to dislike or to be neutral towards something than to like something. But when I like something I tend to be pretty loyal to it, and it never leaves my side; hence this small multimuse with characters that I have been writing for years now (some of them at least). Yeah, this is just me rambling, so I’ll just go from muse to muse and close it off with a neat little bow.

Okay so, probably for the surprise of nobody, Pip is my most long-lasting muse ever! I’ve been writing him since 2013 and that’s because he has been my favorite character since Day 1.

I like underdog characters and he was the earliest underdog in the series (in my opinion, that is). He was also very different from other characters at the time (before fucking Butters came around), so it was easy to sympathize with him or to dislike him just like the cast did. For me it was the former, I found his misfortune both sad and amusing and I couldn’t help but liking him (was it out of pity tho’? Not sure, it’s been years). I also like gentleman characters a lot (especially the bowties and the suits, I like some well-dressed fellas in my life), so even if his color palette is outrageous (because it is, red, blue and purple shouldn’t be together like that) he looks pretty charming to me!

There is also the fact that, to continue with the unpopular opinions, I enjoy the first four seasons of the show quite a bit, and for me Pip pretty much symbolizes that era since that was when he was a secondary character the most often. Before he died, you know. For me, there is a sense of nostalgia to be had when it comes to Pip in general; he’s an older character, from the oldest seasons, my oldest muse and, well, just OLD in general, he comes from a book from the Victorian period after all.

Speaking of which, as cheesy and extra as this may sound, Pip got me interested in literature. My degree involves a lot of reading and writing about old English and American literature; and I don’t think I would have ever made this career choice had it not been for becoming interested in Great Expectations after I came across the episode and watched it. God, I love that fucking episode even tho’ most people hate it LOL.

Idk, I suppose the reason I still write him is because the show did not give him enough spotlight and I’m willing to take care of that myself. Though, I may admit, sometimes he’s too much for me, but I guess it’s because he’s more on demand than my other muses. He’s just that likable!

With Scott my history doesn’t go as far back, though. Sure, he was there since season 12, but most people probably started showing interested for him in 2017, when Fractured But Whole was released, and that was my case too. Scott couldn’t have had a more solid main character role had it not been for Captain Diabetes; he’s charismatic, excited to participate into the game and he’s a great teammate!  He drags you in with his character alone and, taking into account that this was his first main role, he was sort of an underdog as well. Yeah, I guess that’s a running theme with me.

A lot of my characterization and love for him came from FBW and I will be the first one to admit it. Scott has a very strong personality and it shows; I usually write characters that are, for a better word, “softer”, but I honestly liked how he is usually very cool and chill, not losing it whenever Cartman picks on him like Kyle could, but can still stand up for himself and show that he has a backbone, so he became a staple for my private RPing on Discord to the point of becoming one of my favorite muses in general. Though, another reason for him to become one of my main muses was his dynamics with other characters from the show. He’s so easy to write and to have click with other characters it was a breathe of fresh air for me!

Personally, I don’t see Scott as a replacement for Pip or Butters, but he’s still a black sheep character like them. He’s just having an easier time breaking out of that mold, I think? Probably not even on purpose, though, since another thing I like about him is how he seems to be a bit scatterbrained but also really genuine. Idk, I find how simple-minded he is to be adorable... actually, Scott is just adorable. His character design stands out in comparison to other background/secondary characters’? From his hair to his ears, he’s got a lot of uniqueness going on!

I just wish they would give him the spotlight more, I guess, so this is another character I write for that reason. Though, I also started writing Scott because of the pre-established relationships I have with him (at least in private), and I hope I get to have him make more friends for as long as I remain active on this blog.

So as I said before, I first liked Bradley in an ironic manner, then it actually become a genuine feeling and now, pretty sure, he’s ascended beyond being just a favorite character of mine. Idk man, he’s funny. Mintberry Crunch is a hilarious concept and I love it, I have said that in the past, and I suppose this was one of those cases in which you just wanted to insist you were into something ironically and then it went too far.

Anyways, what haven’t I say about Bradley yet? I enjoy how much of a Dennis the Menace kind of unapollogetic twerp he is, his sibling rivalry with Henrietta is one of my favorite things about his character. Sure, it’s an annoying archetype, but it was one of the reasons I had to use MBC in FBW outside of his powers, because of his dynamic with his adoptive sister. It makes me wonder what could have been his dynamic with the other goth kids since it’s canon that he steals stuff related to the occult from them..

I will admit that the reason I like him is because I think he’s a funny character. Bro, he’s hilarious, his entire superhero persona is a cereal mascot that keeps throwing lines akin to a cereal commercial, gotta love the surreality of it. Hell, he’s so surreal, so disconnected from the other kids’ superhero personas, that he was totally the underdog during the Coon & Friends trilogy. Everything was revolving around the Coon and Mysterion? Bam, not anymore, suddenly MBC, the character nobody expected anything from, the most useless concept out of the bunch, is the one who unironically has a backstory and superpowers to boot. Hell, he’s also the best (if not broken) support character in FBW? What is there not to ironically love about the cereal alien child?

Of course, I love the possibilities he brings to the table when it comes to RPing. He’s an alien so he can be in any setting in the galaxy! He can interact with other species and it won’t be weird for him because, hello? He’s an alien himself! Tho’ I also really like to think that he’s a “how do you do fellow humans” kind of alien these days so that’s extra points in the funny department. His personality, overall, makes interacting with him a very entertaining experience to watch.

I haven’t been writing him for long, though, only since around 2018? Yeah, he’s my newest muse, the characters I have been writing for the least time in this blog- but GOD I would defend him with my life. I just think he’s neat! And that’s basically it.

🐭 • So, in conclusion? I like my underdogs a lot. Some of my muses are more popular and loved than others, sure, but I’m attracted to underrated characters, which is something all of my three boys have in common.

Also, before anybody asks: yeah, I only write male characters, so what? I don’t really enjoy most female characters in the show and those I DO like I just don’t think I would ever be able to make em justice. There are people out there that would do a way better job at writing Henrietta or Estella than I ever could, and I shall wait until the day comes in which I get to write with em. ♥

Holy crap that's a ton of sketches OTL These aren't even in any order I just, squeezed them in the thing where they would fit ._.  Uhh hERE WE GO: left to right, top to bottom. Hopefully brief explanations help x_X #1 A concept of what Annabelle and Kelly's (her roommate and friend) bedroom might look like. I really don't know what made me sketch it, I think I was just trying to help myself envision it or something. #2 The coloured one- sort of greenish blue and has the crayon-like outline, was an old project for school: design a hostile alien species. I actually did quite a bit of backstory for them and stuff but yeah I didn't write it down so half of it's lost lol. Anywho, I also added a possible weapon they might have used. #3 The small, smooth-outlined sketch above the alien is a headshot of Krauss: Cobalt549's Dragon Age: Inquisition Qunari. I really love how he looks in game and can't stop trying to draw him and his magnificent horns. #4 A small chibi of Brooklyn, mostly for color palette purposes tbh. Done on Clip Art, actually. #5 Weird headshot of a cat/feline. I was practicing fur and just didn't want to edit it after that stage. #6 Basic concept of what Brooklyn's late husband, whom has no name atm that I'm aware of. 1. If you were going to become famous for something, what would you like it to be?

I will like to be famous for saving peoples’ lives, mainly because I almost lost a friend once.

2. Who inspires you most?

My little god sister definitely!

3. Rain or Sunshine?

Sunshine that’s for sure, I hate cold

4. Would you enjoy living with yourself?

Yup, I am very independent and I like to enjoy my peace without any outside chaos.

5. What would you most likely be arrested for?

For stealing government’s money and giving it back to the people who deserved so much more :p

6. What is your definition of success?

My definition of success will be satisfied with the things that I have, to be able to have a happy family (something that hasn’t happen since I was young), to be able to help the people that I care about most :)

7.  What is one happy moment that you’d want to relive?

Going for my first vacation solo in Sydney, where I can get away from all my responsibilities for 2 weeks :P

8.  Do you prefer calling or texting people?

Texting that’s for sure, I don’t like to answer phone calls

Yea I believe in aliens and ghosts. Till this days I don’t understand why humans called it aliens when it’s just another species of intelligent creatures that live in a different galaxy from us. As for ghosts, they are just us living in another dimension that we humans have yet to discover or understand. It’s like how ghost will see us differently, as we are living in a different dimension from them if that makes sense at all

De-Stressing

“I think my favorite is keith being a silent broody mess and someone trying to figure out his deal. lol someone annoying keith when he wants to be alone until he suddenly has to puke is one of my favorite things....I think [caretaker pidge is] fucking sweet and cute as hell usually. Especially if she's super snarky but gets softer when she knows he's really not feeling good.”

Set relatively close after The Blade of Marmora.

Nope. Absolutely not. Not tonight.

That’s what Keith’s stomach told him as he stared down the food goo in front of him, when only hours ago during training, it begged for sustenance. But now that the meal was here, there was no way in hell he was eating it.

Maybe it’s cause Galra don’t eat food goo... the paladin thought, They probably eat...I dunno, weird space mice. Am I going to have to start eating space mice? Do Allura’s mice count?

Keith's stomach protested again, doing a somersault at the thought of eating mice. He pushed himself back from the table and scooped up the plate.

“I’m going to eat in my room.”

None of the others at the dinner table dared to stop him.

By then, word had gotten around about Keith’s experience in the Blade of Marmora’s base, how he faced knowledge or death and found knowledge that he didn’t necessarily want. Shiro told him time and time again that nothing had changed - only his knife could now become a sword. ‘They was probably speaking figuratively anyway’ he insisted, but Keith still took it hard. He isolated himself more than usual, giving him a lot of alone time to think. As exhibited at dinner, those thoughts weren’t the most comforting.

Keith immediately trashed the plate of food goo when he entered the room. He wasn’t going to eat it, and that was fact. He sat down hard on his bed, kicked off his shoes, and took out his knife. The glowing insignia that haunted his dreams glared back at him. His mind swarmed with questions.

Some good ‘knowledge or death’ was, he thought, I have more questions than answers and almost died.

A pang ran through his middle again, causing him to inhale sharply. He felt absolutely awful. Is this a weird Galra thing? A-am I, like, transforming or something? No, that’s stupid.

The more he thought, the more his stomach turned. At least, until there was a soft knock at his door. It didn’t have the same metal clink as Shiro’s knocking, and he frankly didn’t want to see anyone else.

“Keith? It’s Pidge. Can I come in?”

Keith paused. He could handle talking to Pidge.

“Yeah.”

The Green Paladin entered, an expression on her face that Keith didn’t immediately recognize. It seemed like a cross between concern, curiosity, and a bit of professionalism. Why was she so hard to pin down sometimes?

Pidge sat next to Keith, not looking to him for an invitation. “I wanted to catch you alone. Can we talk?”

A chill went down Keith’s spine. That wasn’t the question he wanted to hear, especially when Pidge used her monotone science voice. Keith feared she wanted to start running tests on him, opening him up like a classroom frog. The imagery of him being pinned to a table and sliced open at the belly turned his face a shade paler. If there was even a slight chance of eating some food later, it was completely gone.

“Uh....sure.”

As it turned out, Pidge didn’t mention his apparent Galra blood at all. Instead, she was deeply curious about the experience in the headquarters - the space between the black holes and the star, the ideology behind ‘knowledge or death’, how they structured the suits to tap into his consciousness. She even threw in some sly comments, saying how the Blades probably could’ve chosen a better color palette than ‘dark’. But that didn’t stop Keith’s mind from wandering back to the nausea-inducing thoughts.

He wouldn’t’ve said ‘Galra blood runs through your veins’ unless he meant it literally, right? That’s too literal of a thing to mean anything but exactly that. But how much Galra am I? Humans and Galra can’t have kids, they’re different species! It’s like trying to breed lions and tigers! Except...ligers are a thing...oh god I’m a liger. I’m gonna get locked up in a zoo to be looked at and tested on until I die!

“Keith....? Are you alright? You don’t look so good-”

The Red Paladin pitched forward and threw himself towards the trash can. He only just barely made it before vomit came flooding out of his mouth and painted the bin. In his peripherals, he could hear Pidge say something profane and scramble off the bed to join him on the ground. The back of his mullet and his bangs were slicked with sweat, threatening to fall into the path of his sick.

But, like always, the Green Paladin was prepared. She tugged a small elastic band from her wrist and started raking his hair back with her small fingers.

“I had long hair once,” she sighed, pulling Keith’s mullet into one piece, “I kind of liked it, but it felt good to chop it off. Gets really annoying, especially in space. I used to keep hair ties on my wrist, and I guess I never stopped.” With a few turns of her wrist, his hair was out of the danger zone and tied up neatly.

Keith didn’t mind her talking and touching his hair. It was the perfect distraction from all the badness swirling in his mind and in his stomach. When he was able to get a deep breath in, he encouraged her to keep going. “You had long hair...?”

She was happy to continue, fully aware of the distracting effect she had. She talked about the time when she wore dresses before her father and Matt went on the Kerberos Mission. She talked about how her family encouraged her affinity for science. She talked about her deeper relationships with her family before she hesitated on her mom. And eventually, Keith pulled his head up and set the trash can aside. With a quick rinse with water from his water bottle, Keith pulled himself back to the bed and put his head in his hands.

“I can’t get sick...” he muttered, “There’s so much shit to do, I can’t get sick now...”

Pidge joined him on the bed, placing a hand on his back for comfort, “I don’t think this is a bug, Keith.”

“Then what is it? I didn’t eat dinner or anything...”

“I think you’re stressed.”

Keith almost laughed out loud, “What, me? Stressed? What could I ever be stressed about, Pidge?!”

She frowned, “I’m serious, Keith. Mental stress can manifest in physical ways. You should talk to someone.”

“What, and just expose my entire life story just to get rid of a stomach ache?”

“Well...yeah! If your whole life story is stressing you out. Which it is. You don’t even have to talk to me, you could go talk to Shiro or even the Gladiator Bot! Just someone to at least get this stuff off your chest.”

Keith didn’t respond. He expected Pidge to start yelling at him for ‘not being part of the team’ and ‘having trust issues’ and all the things he’d been told before at the Garrison. But instead, she sighed and talked softly.

“Lay down.”

That idea sounded heavenly. I can do that. I can lay down. Laying down is normal, laying down is a human thing to do- Keith, you need to get your mind away from you being Galra! It’s probably a Galra thing to do too!

His stomach complained again as he slumped down to his side. He wondered if it was truly a one-to-one ratio of stressful thought to stomach ache, or if that was just a convincing move by karma. Either way, he shoved the thoughts away and tried to focus on Pidge again.

“How is this gonna help....?” He asked, daring to close his eyes. He felt Pidge shift on the bed, and suddenly something was touching his stomach. He immediately pulled away.

“What are you-”

“Relax. I’m just gonna rub your stomach a little.” Her voice stayed low and quiet, something Keith only heard on occasion.

“Pidge, I’m not a child. I don’t need my stomach rubbed.”

She went through with it anyway.

“Matt used to do it when I was sick as a kid. Mom and Dad were usually working, and he’d be home studying. We wouldn’t say anything, just curl up and he’d do this. And it’d help me feel better.”

Pidge ran her palm over Keith’s shirt, careful not to drift too high or too low. At first, Keith was skeptical. But after a few revolutions around his navel, his stomach started to calm down, and the slow, repetitive movement kept his mind occupied. He audibly sighed, shoulders dropping a few inches.

“There’s a lot to be stressed about - I’m not saying you’re wrong for being stressed,” Pidge said quietly, “But it’s just like you to bottle it all up until you can’t keep it in anymore. Literally. You need to give yourself time to vent and relax. It’s better for you in the short and long term.”

“Is that some ‘nature and technology and we’re all one’ shit the Olkari taught you...?”

“It’s not shit, it’s working on you right now. And no. My mother taught me that.”

Keith piped down. He didn’t want to step into that territory just yet.

“Are the belly rubs helping?”

“Yeah, they actually are...I didn’t expect them to...”

Pidge grinned in triumph. “Good. Keep it up, and you’ll be feeling better soon.” To Keith’s surprise, she removed her hand and stood up. She headed for the door, stopping in the frame. “Is there anything else I can get you?”

“Where are you going?”

“Well, I figured you wanted to be alone. That’s why you left in the first place. So I’m gonna leave you alone. That’s what you do.”

Keith sat up from his position, “Wait! You-....you don’t have to leave. I...actually have a lot to tell you. I have some stuff I wanna get off my chest.”
