😌 Butcher pulls Homelander down to sit on his lap
☆ Send me Prompts ☆
He hated it here. He hated being so high in the air, he hated how much fucking 'natural sunlight' this shitty penthouse got, he hated the way he had to deal with Homelander's anxious pacing fits at three in the fucking morning. How the fuck did he end up here? Was he really so awful that this was his penance? Butcher knew that God guy was a right foul cunt.
"It's- it's socialism! That's what it is!" Homelander hissed, pacing the length of the living den with one hand on his hip and the other raised in the air. "Our- my company is run by, by, by a bunch of, of fucking imbecils. Because they 'bought stock', and they have to be 'consulted'." The supe made a show of making air quotes, his face an unattractive scowl. "What the fuck do they know? Okay, I made this company. I don't- I don't have to fucking answer to them, I'm the fucking Homelander."
"You killed a guy in broad daylight, love." Butcher sighed, arms sprawled along the back of the couch as he rubbed weary eyes.
Now Homelander stopped, looking at Butcher with that intense look that could either mean he was planning to kill him or he was undressing him. It was hard to tell these days. "Make it go away."
"Mmm, not me area of expertise."
"Then make it yours. I- I don't know! Dig up something bad on him, plant- I don't fucking know- temp-V on him or something. Just help me fucking fix it."
Butcher offered nothing, just watched him under a heavy brow, lips pressed into so tight a line, one couldn't see it under the beard. Exasperated, Homelander moved to stalk past him and leave the room, but Butcher's hand closed around his wrist and stopped him. Before either could speak, Butcher jerked him down into his lap, and Homelander went with surprising ease. He was caught off guard, he'd later say, that was all.
Another low hum, as Butcher examined Homelander's perfect fucking face. He raised his hand to draw rough fingers along rounded cheeks and a sharp jaw line, then he rumbled, "Say please, an' maybe I'll thinks abou' it."

hi
jason wasn't close to many other heroes before he died, and most of the ones he was close with told stories about him as a cautionary tale. he became a story filled with half-truths about his life that was passed down to new heroes to tell them about the dangers of being a hero. bruce and dick knew him best but they're emotionally closed off and don't know how to talk about the good things. even cass only knew him as the robin that died for years.
do you think that there are people that didnt think he was real? new heroes that didnt know a lot about batman and robin hearing that there was a robin before the current one that was killed, and they just assume its a made-up story to scare them? when batman and robin became an urban legend, jason did too. he stops being a hero that wanted the best for the people he loved, and instead became a horror story about what happens when you don't listen.

mob psycho 100 has impressed me on multiple counts but one thing that keeps standing out to me is the way Mob fills the role of Shonen Hero.
I love me a classic shonen protag. I love the hinata shoyos and the ash ketchums and the gokus, the spunky go-getters who are a little rough around the edges but want to be The Best at the Thing, or Save the World, or Win the Championship. I also love the protags who are reluctantly shoved into the role of Hero and must stumble their way into accepting it, whether or not they actually wanted it at first.
Mob isn't any of those. he doesn't start out as a bundle of boundless energy and optimism. his goal is not to be a hero or to subvert the trope by Resisting the Call. in fact, in the beginning, there isn't a Call. there is no Grand Quest for him to set out on. he's just... a kid, who happens to have psychic powers, and his goal is just to figure out who he is and what he wants and where his place is in the world. that's his hero's journey, really.
Mob doesn't come prepackaged with ambition; he has to work to unearth it. he has to figure out that he has any agency in the first place, and then use that agency to figure out what he wants. he has to handpick his own goals, and he has to choose growth. and he does choose growth, over and over. that in itself is a heroic feat. man, there are whole adults who won't do the internal work this kid does to figure himself out and adapt to new information! we constantly see him meet people who act and think so differently from him, and really think about the things they say and do, and learn something valuable in the process. we continually see him waking up to various aspects of himself, and clarifying his convictions, and adapting the ways he moves through the world, and taking on a more solid shape as a person. we continually see him choosing.
his growth is so organic, and natural, and marked by an increasing sense of self-possession, that by the time he gets to do Big Impressive Heroic Shonen Things, it feels earned. Mob Shigeo Kageyama has come into himself, and he must face some truly terrifying things, but he reaches out to meet them with both hands because he's already learned to meet his own personal challenges and the people in his life in the same way.
Mob doesn't start out as a Shonen Hero, but by the end of season 2 he IS one, because he earned it. he chose it, worked for it, grew into it, and it looks incredible on him.

Wei Wuxian really got an arrow shot in between two of his lungs ribs, pulled it out, and then tossed it back and fucking killed the guy who shot him - If that's not fucking terrifying (and more than a little awe-inspiring) I don't know what is.

Shigaraki/Tenko wanting to destroy the false sense of peace All Might and Heroes created
.⬇️.
Shigaraki/Tenko wanting to destroy everything that lead to the existence of that house, which he conceptualizes as the embodiment of rejection and injustice in the world. Be a Hero for the Villains.
.⬇️.
AFO basically literally created that house
.⬇️.
Shigaraki/Tenko helps defeat AFO
.⬇️.
Deku telling him 'you already destroyed it' is... apparently Shigaraki/Tenko having finally gotten rid of the true cause of (his) rejection and injustice? main antagonist's big problem that represents an overarching major issue of the story/in-universe society... solved? (main antagonist's big problem that represents an overarching major issue of the story/in-universe society not actually being the problem he thought it was but now also solved?)
.⬇️.
No longer a need for there to be a Hero for the Villains, Shigaraki/Tenko dies.
.⬇️.
Heroes not to be blamed in the first place. also fuck everyone else and all other 'actual' outcasts I guess.
#i understand that Tenko not having 'supposed' to be rejected doesn't mean the rejection didn't occur for the other League members#but taking that away from Tenko/Shigaraki - leader of the League of Villains - wanting to be their champion#symbolically being their collective grievances and wills condensed into one#taking that away makes the story a lot weaker#GOD what happened#nalslastworkingbraincell#honestly making everything AFO's fault#and making Tenko's main issue being his despair toward himself (created by AFO)#allowed for the (seemingly for now) clean resolution of 'get rid of the both of them' possible#It's AFO's fault? Kill him! Problem solved#Tenko's issue not actually *harm caused by other (non-AFO) people* but instead *harm caused by his self-conceptualization/his own self*?#Tenko's projecting his own self-loathing and anger onto the world and causing trouble for everyone and making his crusade meaningless?#let him die too. Pity but problem solved!#AFO gave him the specific quirk that was Decay because it was such a brutal and deadly quirk that would guarantee rejection#you cannot tell me he could've been fine after manifesting Decay if only AFO wasn't there to tell him he has an innate need to destroy#not after what we've seen of Shinsou and Toga#other 'normal' people would not have let him live a normal life#that *is* also very much a problem that should be addressed#but it was AFO who gave him Decay and Decay was also actually not naturally existing#so everything's fine! no changes for anyone!#all this could've been saved if this was transferred to AFO - AFO also seen as a victim of societal apathy#especially since he was BORN A TRASH RIVER RAT ORPHAN#but he's just a lonely guy who was too unpleasant to form real relationships#so. only real issue Hero Society ever had that needed to be addressed was civilians being too hard on Heroes#gotta love them more and demand less of them#yippee

You know what I'm impressed by? Corypheus picking up a modern language the very moment he returned to the living. Imagine how badly things would have gone for him if he wasn't a linguistic genius.

Homelander getting extremely frustrated while learning a new skill (butchlander) Please and thank you!!
☆ Send me Prompts ☆
"This is!" Homelander grit his teeth, hands on his hips as he gave that quick little shake of his head. "Fucking stupid, William, I'm not doing this."
"Why?" Butcher drawled as he loaded a clip into the handgun and double checked the safety before setting it on the table. He had to admit, this wasn't how he expected to spend his last few months of living, but it beat sitting at home getting shitfaced by noon. "America's poster boy ain' never shot a gun before'? Well, that's not very American, now is it?"
"I don't fucking need to! It's- it's a tool. It's a fucking... cop out for." He kept shaking his head, floundering to justify something that didn't really need to be, but Butcher was amused. "Weak people."
"An' how well you think you're gonna fare when someone comes round and takes those special lit'le powers of yours?" Butcher set about prepping a second gun, having half a mind to fuck it up so Homelander would look even more like a jackoff.
Silence, the blond haired supe narrowing his eyes. "That's impossible."
A shrug, Butcher still focused on his task. "If a drug gave ya powers, there's gotta be one tha' can take 'em."
Again, that fitful little shake of his head, but this time Homelander added a pointed finger. "No. No, no, no. I'd know if Vought was making it- I am Vought."
Butcher finally looked up, circling around the table to offer Homelander the gun with a smirk. "Didn' say Vought was the one makin' it."
"What do you know?" And for a shining moment, Butcher saw that fear again. The sharks were circling Homelander, it was only a matter of time before they finally went in for the kill. Homelander knew it, Butcher knew it. When Butcher didn't respond, Homelander tried again. "William, what do you know?"
"I know enough." He pushed the gun into captain cunt's hands and stepped aside. "Had ta give ya a reason not to shoot me now, didn' I? If you can beat me in a lit'le friendly match, maybe I'll tells ya."
"No you fucking won't." But he took the gun and looked for a target.
Butcher smirked. "No, I won't."

2 major factions in chaldea: the 14 yr old heroic spirits who think adults crushing on the mc is creepy vs the 18+ heroic spirits who think the bbys crushing on the mc is creepy. theres a third who thought they were there to save humanity but no one listens to them
more legitimately this is probably so making kintoki step in even if you play as the male mc makes sense but it does make it weird if you think about the fact ritsuka's been there for ~7 years and is still underage. were they hired at age 11.

I have truly never seen so much discourse for a hero/anti-hero that kills until I started liking jason todd. I have literally never seen so many people get hate for not condemning a fictional character who kills bad guys until now its shocking! and I mean that literally
maybe I’m the one missing something but there are plenty of heroes (not antiheroes but HEROES) who exist that choose a lethal method and people take that in stride? the only way I can make sense of this is that people are so attached to batman and his mythos; they literally imprint on him and his thinking ?? and now any slight against him or challenge against his righteousness is taken as if its a slight against them.
at the end of the day, to me, you can still support jason being lethal because the fictional characters hes killing aren’t actually dead. in this sense, specifically, I don’t see why real life morals should be applied to a comic world. he’s not killing out of bigotry and if he was, I would get the controversy! but if you can agree with brutally beating and invasions of privacy in the dcu because it’s “morally correct” within the universe, I can’t see an argument against jason’s methods being morally wrong as valid unless those views are applied to every aspect of batman comics. if we did that, then everyone who continued reading these comics would be getting the same treatment jason todd fans do. you cannot hold one character accountable to real life moral views and not the other(s)!

My roommate is fighting with her boyfriend but I just keep thinking about having the police called at your wedding because you and the groom are having some, major break-up worthy fight and are throwing cake and champagne glasses at each other... but the closest officer is technically a pro-hero (Kirishima? Bakugo? Both?) who shows up expecting a criminal rather than a would-be bride sobbing in their arms
