I find the dynamic between TZ dating interesting when it comes to how they view their careers. On one hand, there is someone as ambitious as Z, who has proven over the years how she goes out of her way to work, create, find new things to reinvent herself as an entertainer from fashion to beauty to music, and on the other hand, someone like Tom who seems.. I don't wanna say not ambitious because that would be reductive but .. content with things coming AT him and not necessarily pursuing stuff on his own - and I'm not putting words in his mouth, he said himself he has been lucky enough to go with the flow since he's been riding the Spider-Man wave and just let things "find him".
I wonder if they balance each outer out in that way. I know the girlboss - trophy husband jokes are mostly jokes but the truth is there's a steer difference between hearing Tom, who only turned 27 (which is arguably when things gets more interesting for men in Hollywood), already talking about laying low, disappearing from the public eye, and Z who said during nwh press "If there's one thing I learned about the pandemic is that I don't wanna stop working. I don't need a break".
I think it's also because Tom to a certain extent, being a white man, has the privilege to be allowed to state things like that and still be okay and get booked and not being judge, whereas Z is, in my semi not-biased opinion, one of the hardest working and professional actress under 30. Because she loves to perform, but most importantly because Hollywood expect excellence from woc way more than what they expect it for other folks, so she had and still has to meet these standards
I don’t think we can overstate the points you make in your third paragraph. If we’re going to compare/contrast these two, we must account for privilege, opportunities, expectations, etc. Tom’s and Zendaya’s career paths are so totally different, the ways they unfold and the ways they talk about them. It’s why most of the “whataboutism” that we’re always seeing is so dumb.

the lee family has always been small , consisting of lee min - soo , lee ye - eun , their eldest son jae - young , and their daughter mina . with min - soo as a pediatrician at new york presbyterian and ye - eun as a professor at new york university , the lee family lived in a comfortable life in the suburbs of new york . although jae - young is six years older than mina , the two still got along well and were raised fairly normally . the only thing that truly marked mina’s birth was being born a year after the grand uprising . her parents , being older in age , constantly told mina and her brother about the purebloods and the pureblood monarchy with an unbiased approach ( despite being humans ) and ye - eun teaching an ‘ introduction to the monarchy ’ - type course at nyu .

003. PERSONALITY .
big neutral energy ! as an adult , mina might make some people upset with her opinion that evidently humans were doing something wrong in order to fall to the purebloods , so she keeps that to herself . much like her parents , she’s all about living her life as best she can and attempts to not stir the pot with the supernatural living around her . mina figures that they have their lives and she has her own ; despite her efforts , though , she’s managed to find herself .... entangled ( 😅 ) with the purebloods as she has become a paranobis . can be kinda dumb knowing the dangers of being associated with a pureblood and being around vampires , but still goes for early morning jogs anyways .

Tia was created by Benjamin after he found her in Suez where she had been married to a clerk for a shipping company.
The two of them are childhood best friends and wherever Benjamin goes, Tia goes.
To Tia, Benjamin is her only family and she cares for him an awful lot. She would do anything for him, lest its dangerous for him. Either way she is staying by his side to protect him and care for him.
She suspects that there is a mate out there for her, but haven’t felt the need to actively seek out love because she has such a close companionship with Benjamin.
Being in Volterra makes her a bit uneasy but she finds herself curious about how the situations between the clans are going to pan out when they are all in one city.
Every time she’s settled down somewhere, Tia has found herself going back to her old habits to earn money. Stealing and performing at smaller venues. Her voice is still as beautiful as it was when she was human, and on stage she feels free to fully express herself.
Off stage Tia is very much quiet and reserved, only speaking when spoken to or if she feels she ought to say something. Her words are never wasted and they are always intelligent and insightful.
She has found that in order to feed properly and avoid close human attachment which could lead to guilt, she has to remove herself from caring too much about anyone that is human or vampires without close ties to her or her coven. This might make her seem a bit distant and uninterested, while in reality its pure self preservation.
Tia loves all kinds of music and likes collecting trinkets from each place she’s been in. Often different types of valuables such as jewelry, watches or family heirlooms.

Tbf I see some of the other TZ blogs I normally love, casting shade on anyone who they think remotely poses a 'threat' to T or Z's exclusive supremacy, anyone remotely in their orbit and white. That means shading Austin, Sydney, Timmy, Maude, JE, even Jake G, Jennifer Aniston, Reese, whoever doesn't align with the orthodoxy of Tomdaya Supremacy. A lot of it is quite hypocritical because they body shame e.g. Sydney and say she's using her boobs to get ahead, but Z's tactics for rising to fame (showing up everywhere, using her figure and fashion) were somehow aceptable while's Sydney's strategy is not? To me they are exactly the same.
The only actresses they consider as non-threats and acceptable are Florence (although that is about to change now that she's single and in a movie with Z) and Amanda.

Now, granted, how I feel about a certain matter may not be the reality of what's going on, but I'm always brutally honest about my thoughts/feelings about a particular actor/actress.
