Love is not a feeling.

If love were a feeling,

it would come and go,

like in a great drama.

Love is not a thought.

If love were a thought,

it would have an opposite.

Love is too huge

to be contained in thought.

Love is not a belief.

If love were a belief,

you would doubt it.

And who would believe that?

Love is not a state.

If love were a state,

you could enter or leave it.

Or fall out of it.

Love is not an experience.

If love were an experience,

it would begin and end,

and you would long for its return.

Love is not something you find.

If love were something you found,

you could lose it too,

so you'd have to cling to it for dear life.

Love is simpler, kinder, closer, less dramatic.

Less urgent, more present.

Love is the space in which everything appears.

Every thought, every sensation,

every feeling, pleasurable and painful,

blissful, boring, erotic, gentle and intense,

all are held in love's vast embrace.

Yes, YOU are the space for it all,

spaciously intimate with every breath,

in love with every beat of the heart,

every sound, every smell,

every sensation in the body,

every moment of life.

Feeling like you're in love

or not feeling like you're in love,

either way, you are in love

with the bliss and the boredom of existence,

with the certainty and the doubt of it,

with the pleasure and the pain,

with the success and the failure,

with the seeking and the resting,

with every sacred movement

of this astonishing dream-world.

All that can be held, can be lost.

All that you can gain, can be taken away.

All that you can build up, can turn to dust overnight.

All that can be created, can also be destroyed.

Addiction is dissatisfaction.

You are so unhappy with your normal state of being that you're constantly seeking for something 'greater'.

This is a fools game. Grass is greener on steroids.

Your corrupted reward system tricks you into being in a perpetual state of want.

It's a decay cycle.

Your life appears mundane so you lean on something that offers cheap, accessible pleasure.

This deludes you for a brief moment & distorts your perception.

You think life is better now because of the dopamine rush.

Over time, you use that to cope with all things discomfort. Thoughts, situations, emotions. Any negative state makes you want to escape.

This is where the decay cycle begins.

Your body deteriorates because of the addiction, your brain deteriorates because of the addiction, your life deteriorates because of the addiction..

& all this time it tricks your brain into changing your perception on reality. You think everything is all plush and content.

Any time you are offered a brief moment of clarity and get a peak beyond the veil.. the minute you start to realize your life is going to shit, it creates more stress, negative emotions in you. You run back to get more pleasure and willingly coat your eyes with a thick paint of bullshit and ignorance

This cycle repeats itself over and over until there's nothing left to decay.

Breaking this illusion of pleasure is paramount to you breaking the cycle.

You must recognize reality for what it is.

Where does a loved one ‘go’ when they die?

Where does a wave ‘go’ when it crashes onto the shore?

Nowhere. No place.

The wave was never separate from the vastness of the ocean in the first place, so it cannot ‘return’ there. Water cannot leave water, nor return.

Nothing happens at all, from the perspective of our true nature.

Death is simply the deepest relaxation into unborn, undying presence.

Your loved one did not ‘go’ anywhere, friend. They simply rested even more deeply in their own nature, which is your nature, which is presence. Not two. Never two.

They are now where they always were – in your heart of hearts. And they can never leave.

You will carry them.

Love is stronger than death.

Notice none of us is a stranger to the darkness, to challenges or adversity. We exist to make the unconscious, conscious, to face our version of dark, to bring it to light and see things as they are. This is the cultural metaphor of the Hero's Journey, quest for the Holy Grail, the blossoming of the thousand-petalled lotus.

Admittedly, experience is not always wonderful. We might find ourselves engaged in conflict, feeling rejected, abandonned, humilated, betrayed, experiencing injustice or other suffering. Yet, we thrive in unlikely conditions. We are like the phoenix, rising from the ashes as we grow conscious of wisdom of true nature.

Everyone of us is special. None of us is like anyone else. Solving our own mysteries, unveiling, materializing our gifts, translating those into service, is the point of this human experience. We move through layers of energy fields at our own pace, detect and perceive is based on expanding levels of consciousness.
